Maybe a drabble where Katsuki (and the rest of 1-A) is invited to EraserMic's wedding after the war, because after everything that happened, they don't want to put it off any more.

And Katsuki is introspective about it, because there they are, two adult male heroes, getting married to each other. While the wedding is a private affair, and you know Aizawa hates the press and wouldn't let them anywhere near their big day, it IS public knowledge.

And Katsuki, long suffering a deep devotion to Izuku (and realizing what that actaully means, ie, he's in LOVE with the idiot) and several months into funding and designing that passion project of his, can't help but secretly be heartened by seeing a Queer romantic couple of widely known and loved Heroes be recognized and accepted in the Hero space.

Not that he'd ever be apologetic about his feelings for Izuku, or his own Queerness, but Katsuki finds comfort in seeing Eraser and Mic so happy, smiling at each other in that way, as if they can finally be open.

He looks at Izuku, finding the nerd beaming brightly at their teachers' happiness, and imagines one day, that he could be that happy with Izuku, and they could gather in front of all their loved ones. And the Hero World would welcome them too.

I think about this sometimes but I personally love that Horikoshi took the Yandere trope, split it in two, and gave one half to Izuku and Himiko.

Like it’s so fascinating how you can just SEE how purposeful Himiko was as a character in hindsight standing next to him.

Himiko is a really interesting subversion of her trope for two reasons:

She hurts people because she loves them, not for isolation or destruction of the competition (gore/blood is love to her, not necessarily a means to love someone)

She’s not possessive. Like at all.

I’ve seen that hc a few times and it always bothers me. Ochako is for sure a possessive character (we saw that with Hatsume around Izuku way back at the sports festival arc), but Himiko? Really?

You mean the girl who had a crush on a boy AND the girl who also had a crush on the same boy? Her?

You mean the girl who doesn’t hurt people who love who she loves, rather actively encouraging it in the first place? That one? Really?

Like it’s such an integral part to her subversion too. It’s what makes her such a weird and fascinating character. Possessiveness is supposed to be whats ugly about love itself, yet her love remains ugly without it. She is ugly because the fundamental ways in which she sees and feels about the world are considered “wrong”, “dangerous”, and “deviant”.

But Izuku… ohhhh Izuku…

He holds this trait like a badge melted to his skin. My man cannot escape these allegations. It’s to the point where it’s honestly a fundamental to his narrative. Izuku does not act nor feel the same without it.

Izuku holds a cutesy nickname that literally every other childhood friend of Katsuki’s has long left behind, saying his real name instead (this is honestly why I’m also uninterested in a scene where Izuku calls him “Katsuki” instead of “Kacchan”, Katsuki doesn’t represent the same things the name Izuku does, imo at least), izuku “give him back to me” midoriya, holds his dead body to his chest on a cover, freaked out on someone either hurting/offending Kacchan.. 3 times(?), keeping big boy ofa secrets…. The list goes on.

So it’s this main reason that I think their characters are just so. Fucking. Intertwined. I’m glad this has become a more common interpretation because there’s just so much that aligns between them.

Both of them call their “special people” with -chan endings, both by their first names, both deemed deviants/irrelevant by society. It’s no wonder Ochako fell in love with Izuku, just like she did toga, they’re fucking freaks. They’re interesting. They’re weird. They’re overly friendly and socially inept and a little beaten down by the world yet have too much passion to stay on the ground. They’re envious of the ones they love (Ochako of her freedom to be a normal girl, Katsuki for his raw power and harnessed skill), and I guess I just wanted to make this post because I adore how it’s all done.

I LOVE how the yandere trope is used as societal commentary here. Not necessarily as a way to make the main love interest jealous and feel she must protect the main character, nor for some kinky reason surrounding her character, but because the trope is built off of real, ugly feelings that can and do happen. That love can and is considered truly beautiful in all its forms, especially those of queer people.

So I especially love it because it isn’t just limited to Himiko, but Izuku as well. He may never hurt the ones he loves, but he would hurt for them.

A perfect narrative foil on queer and deviant forms of love. Big fan Horikoshi.

Katsuki's way of handling his queerness in my brain comes majorly from an inside joke that i have with my friend, where he is just incredibly dumb with his feelings and doesn't realise people can just be gay, so all of the strong feelings that he has for Izuku are crossed off as hatred or rivalry or whatever lame excuse his gay ass wants to give in that moment, so I feel like someone outside would have the open his eyes to the possibility of: being a homosexual.

I feel like Izuku is also similar but in a different way ?? Like in a comphet way, where he also sees his feelings for Katsuki as an outstanding appreciation for him and how in his eyes they are 'even more tha best friends' and 'their bond is stronger than any other'. So sure, dude, completely platonic relationship over there, of course.

So i feel like Katsuki would sit him down to come out and Izuku is just like "What do you mean, Kacchan?" with like innocent and happiness in his eyes and Katsuki is like an angry pomeranian like "I LIKE BOYS. Bakugou ends up with detention, but with Aizawa’s help, the other kid is in much more trouble

Once you’re done, immediately starts off on a rant about how unmanly and awful the person is

May have offered to beat them up a few times

Overall, just reassures you that he’s on your side however you want to deal with this, whether it’s reporting them or just giving you comfort

Will absolutely watch Love, Simon, Queer Eye, and/or RuPaul’s Drag Race with you if you want

He knows Aizawa would be upset enough anyway, but he is fully ready to use his connection to him just to get things moving quicker

Will also death stare the kid every time he sees them, and he has the kind of glare that’ll haunt your dreams

From then on, you can bet he’s keeping a closer ear out whenever he’s around you, hoping to catch and stop any more homophobia before it starts

How shocked and how dramatic do you think the broader scope of mha consumers will be when toga doesn’t actually die? How they’re jumping the gun into thinking that she’s dead just due to a blood transfusion?

Imma be honest I am living in a bit of an echo chamber rn, there’s not all that much I really KNOW about their reactions.

For all I know, I feel like it’ll be an average Tuesday yk, kinda like when bakugou wasn’t ACTUALLY dead and people weren’t freaking out over it.

I have this like, image in my head sometimes. Ochako, Izuku, Katsuki, and Toga are standing on a hill in silence with a sunset background. There’s nothing said, no words spoken, but it’s always what I imagine the ending to this series. Do I think or want what I imagine to happen? Not really. I want toga and ochako to get a kiss, or at the very least I want bkdk to kiss bc it IS a slowburn.

But unfortunately what I’m personally most scared of is if izu//ocha just never become a thing and… bkdk + tgck are just implied. Because it’s not what I think will create genuine change. What will create change is a confirmation of one or both of them that, yes, these two same sex characters are lovers. And there’s no argument you can make, or theory you can write, or hc that can make this be anything than what it is: True queer representation.

Do I think toga not being dead will create uproar? Maybe some. Maybe in the distant annoying fans on Twitter who complain about “the 30 year old white women who like bkdk”, but do they really matter? They’re a loud minority sure, but most of them are just fucking wannabe edgelords that like making people angry or uneasy. They like a show, a reaction. That’s it. That’s all they ever want.

But what I want though? I want shonen jump’s merch to take a spike in sales for mha, I want people across the world confused and disoriented that this random anime has been trending for weeks on Twitter, I want tumblr to break itself and your dash to be filled with nothing but the fact that mha’s joke ships fucking won. Bkdk’s are REALLY easy to make fun of. A lot of them are teenagers, a lot of them are lgbt, and there’s a lot of them in general. They’re everywhere. Just like how in my state we call New Yorkers the “roaches of the east coast”, mha fans are kind of the roaches of anime fandoms. It would affect everyone, even people who could give less of a fuck about the manga.

(I mean that in the best way possible btw, I love that we’re everywhere and I can be connected to so many different types of people just bc mha is so big. WE THE ROACHES BABYYYYY)

What I mean by all of this is that, I want mha to be a silly footnote in queer history. There’s very few shows that get the opportunity to even be decently popular, much less as popular as mha. In my mind, mha has a chance to say “fuck you” to all of the misogynistic and homophobic people in the world personally. They came into mha to get a battle shonen, and they leave with the first large shonen manga with not one, but two queer love stories.

That doesn’t happen often, or ever. Horikoshi has the ability to make a name for himself as someone who mattered, or someone who became another cog in the machine. Thats what I think will truly create a reaction.

He’s not very secretive about it, he doesn’t give a fuck if anyone finds out. I mean, even if someone did dare make some biphobic comment he’d just punch them and move on. But he rarely did hear any comments made about his sexuality since he was already out in middle school, having hooked up with people of all genders, and they all knew of his temper, so no one said anything.

But apparently the idiots in his class at UA didn’t know a thing about his sexuality, as if he didn’t casually check people out all the time. Honestly, they were so unobservant he was shocked they managed to get into the course.

He didn’t really think he’d have to come out to them, he wasn’t going to anyways, but on the one day that the school allowed them to dress casually he forgot one damn thing: the pins on his jean jacket.

So he really shouldn’t have been shocked when Kaminari screeched like an idiot when he saw the bi flag pin right on his chest.

“Wait, you’re gay?!”

“No, bi.”

“Huh?”

Katsuki just sighed. Jesus.

“What do you mean, huh?”

“So, like, you like both?”

“Yup.”

“How do you know?”

“Huh? Fuck you mean, how do I know? I know cause I didn’t wanna die while making out with a dude.”

“Multiple people, yeah.”

Thankfully, Mina chose that moment to interrupt them and push Kaminari to the side while he tried to come to terms with the fact that fuckin’ Bakugou managed to kiss someone before he did.

“I didn’t know you were bi, Dynamite, congrats on coming out.”

“I’m not coming out, I was never in the closet.”

“But... you never told us,” Kirishima said.

“How did you guys not know?” Jirou suddenly said, arching a brow as she twirled one of her earjacks, “it’s obvious.”

“How is it obvious? He never shows interest in anyone!” Katsuki merely rolled his eyes at Sero’s words.

“I do, you’re all just idiots.”

“He does. Or maybe us queers can just sense each other.”

“Wait,” Mina spoke up from where she was sitting on Katsuki’s desk, “you’re bi too?!”

“Don’t just assume, you idiot,” Bakugou said, furrowing his brows as he desperately tried to figure out what lead him to becoming friends with a bunch of morons.

“Yeah, I am.”

“Hold on,” Kaminari said, sparks coming out of his fingertips as he tilted his head back and took in a deep breath, “I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Bakugou has kissed people before and he’s fucking bi.”

“Seriously though, I cuff my jeans, how could you not tell?”

Jirou merely nodded at the words.

PRIDE (Bakudeku LGBTQ hcs)

I know this was supposed to be posted yesterday, but it wasn’t quite finished and I was tired. So it’s happening today. Also...I know it’s not June, but if you’ve been keeping up with my stuff you might have seen that reblog about the support department making Kacchan’s hero costume slutty (Found here). The idea for this hc list came from that.

- Katsuki is arospec. If you want to be specific, he’s demiromantic. He never had crushes until he realized that he had romantic feelings for Izuku.

- But he is a flaming homosexual. Very proudly gay. He’d known that much since middle school and never really felt bad about it.

- He didn’t realize the modifications that support added to his original costume design could be interpreted as gay or queer at first. When he did, he just wore his costume with more pride than he already did.

- All throughout June, him and Kiri (who is pan) wear pride flags as capes, bandanas, scarves, etc. Just pride flags everywhere. Lots of the time, the rest of the bakusquad join in.

- Normally, Izuku wears an nb or genderfluid button, as well as a mlm and wlw buttons. During pride month he and the rest of the Dekusquad cover as much space on their respective bags as they can. Pride buttons everywhere.

- Genderfluid Izuku. He usually presents as male, but sometimes there are days where he really just needs to wear a hoodie and sweatpants for most of the day.

- Sometimes on lazy days Kacchan and he will wear the softest shirts and skirts they can find, then cuddle all day.

- Izuku loves Kacchan. He doesn’t really label his sexuality or romantic attraction.

- They love going to pride together. Izuku loves the joy of the occassion, and Katsuki loves seeing Izuku happy. Usually all of 1-A will go, then split up for a while before hanging out together.

These are just my headcanons, so it’s not an obligation for anyone to agree with me. These also aren’t absolute for me. I like hearing other people’s interpretations, and I’m partial to the popular hc of bi Izuku and gay Katsuki too.
