This isn't quite my last new line, but it is the last line I edited, along with the lines before and after that brings it up to the required amount... +1, but it just was wrong not to include it.

From the aft end of the catafalque* barge, Captain Rex stood at his self-assigned post in good company. Without any witnesses to bear their indiscretions, the three officers ignored military propriety and decorum… Or at least, one of them ignored convention, and the other two… allowed it. Jedi General Skywalker stood on the Captain’s left, and Marshal Commander Cody stood on his right. “May the flame of those who pass before us, light our way,” Cody beseeched the sea. Added to the wind with his throat tightened, “Good-bye, [REDACTED1]. You were a good soldier. [REDACTED2], the [REDACTED1]’s in charge,” then sighed the vice in his chest, and added with empty lungs, "Until we meet again, troopers." He swayed on his feet, and knocked shoulders with Rex. Together, the three men stood in eulogic vigilance, with the mechanical drone of the barge’s many industrial pumps that spewed its sanguineous silage into the currents. It churned in the ship’s wake, spread ribbons of pinky foam behind the graceless barge. Deposited across the area, the bioremnant** batch enriched the environment—specifically, the swarm of tiny krill eager for the food, and encouraged by the (warmer) season. Where krill massed, the herring came, and eventually… It was grim what became of a soldier in death. It was pitiful how small a soldier became. And it was certainly grotesque the final fate of a soldier. Yet, somehow, Rex still found it… almost perfect. At last, the rain came. A promise made, a promise fulfilled. The sky started with the smallest droplets scattered about. And Kamino… cried its sacrament for its fallen sons. Finally, at last, it was… perfect.

*Catafalque: a decorated platform or framework on which a coffin rests in state during a funeral.

NOTE #1. Yes. this is a funeral. A funeral at sea.

Even just sharing this is making me emotional again.

This is such a cathartic moment for the three men.

(This is all meta and characterization within my own world-building.)

Cody receives shipments of troop troops, he sends into battle. If they stay with him it is because they've survived. He trains them up, and divides most of the seasoned 212thers into his specialty units, like the 501st and the 104th. Cody gets to keep very few veterans for himself.

The Commander also ships the others back home... in body bags. He's never had a chance to witness the after of their receipt. But, it just isn't there way. Worry not for the dead, but for the living. The Clones don't dwell on the physical remnants after death; they are far too much like their makers in this.

Anakin's struggled because there's been a good-bye. The brutal, utilitarian relationship the Clones have with the dead reminds him too much of how Slavers regarded deceased slaves; bodies are worthless if they cannot work, so it is unceremoniously tossed aside.

And Rex? He has a promise made, and a promise to keep.

NOTE #2: Clones find complicated funeral rites, grieving rituals, and any preoccupation with physical remains morbid, and an abomination.

A Midsummer night's Dream Play AU?

Both you and @is-it-mungojerry-or-rumpelteazer asked about this one ^^

This is one of two that I basically just have a thorough outline done for. The basic summary is it's the Amis final year of high school, and their final play they're all doing together, which happens to be Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Enjolras is a trans man who has specifically asked to be given a male part, and Grantaire basically just wants the closest seat possible to watch Enjolras perform. Further summary below the cut:

Unfortunately, their casting director ignores Enjolras' request to be cast male, and casts him as Titania instead. And Grantaire is cast as Bottom.

(If you don't know A Midsummer Night's Dream, Titania is essentially temporarily cursed by Puck to fall in love with an ass, that "ass" being Bottom, who's had his head magically turned into that of a donkey, also by Puck.)

What follows is the two of them getting closer and bonding throughout rehearsals (and private line-practicing), and Grantaire trying to find a way behind the scenes to make this part more comfortable for Enjolras to play, be they against the director's wishes or not.

Also Bottom is just very R coded. For example:

Bottom: “Methinks, mistress, you should have little reason for that.”

Snowbody Wants To See That (Harringroveson) Billy is moving toward the diner a few paces behind Steve, watching his path so he knows where not to step in the snowy mind field.

Nest Material (Harringrove) Billy has been picking at Steve ever since he came to town.

Come Sit On My Lap (Harringrove) Steve walks in the door after work and drops his keys as he starts laughing hard when he spies Billy on the couch.

No Bite Tonight (Harringrove) Billy knows something is up the moment he comes back from working the ranch that now belongs to Steve’s uncle and sees the omega holding up a beer like an invitation.

Kilts and Dresses (Kilt Guy/Steve Harrington) Steve is hurt from Nancy calling their love bullshit, him bullshit, all of it bullshit.

Not For The Very First Time (Perkingham) Carol thought she was going to have to teach Chrissy the ropes.

Chapter 2: Johnny

“Oh, hello…” You remarked to yourself as your eyes locked into a stunning pair of blue eyes on your screen, stopping your mindless right-swipping. “...Johnny.”

“You’re 29… A soldier… Scottish… Are you friends with Kyle?” You mused playfully. “Let me guess, you’re a gym bro, aren’t you?” You asked sarcastically as you tapped your finger on the right side, skipping through his pictures. The first one immediately after was him lifting while wearing a weightlifting belt. “Yup… Mandatory gym pic.”

Chuckling to yourself, you snap a screenshot of his profile to the girls as well, sending it quick.

leah: @/mia Whatever good energy you sent its working. second hot guy in the last 5 minutes! mia: i lit a CANDLE for this!!!!! leah: there weren’t any handsome guys like this when i was on tinder?! 😫 UNFAIR. 🙄 you: blow it out then cause this is the 3rd actually. leah: 3rd??? Shaking your head and laughing in amusement, you went back to Tinder, checking on ‘Johnny’. The mandatory gym pic was there… a couple of them in fact! And then the mandatory shirtless selfie. Or rather… The mandatory shirtless SELFIES. Plural.

Three of them… The first one was him just straight up wearing just a towel… And the next was him in a kilt… And the next was him with a button-up very much so unbuttoned. 

“Oh, my, Johnny-John-John… You sure know how to woo a bird…” You joked to yourself.

You dragged your finger down to check his bio and immediately frowned. “Of course…” You trailed off with a disappointed frown as you snuck another spring roll into your mouth.

He might be stupidly attractive, but his personality… Gosh, he doesn’t know how to sell himself. Boring, boring, boring. “I work out and like video games!” You quipped mockingly and scoffed a bit.

“Artist.” You remarked when you reached the last of his profile’s tags, spotting that word in the hobby section. “An artist? You?” You asked your phone screen as if Johnny would come alive in it and answer you. 

You’d admit, him calling himself an artist was intriguing enough, but normally that wouldn’t be enough to make you Swipe Right on him… But you’re not under normal circumstances. You promised your friends you’d Swipe Right on everyone so…

Your phone almost dropped out of your hand as soon as the ‘It’s a Match’ screen showed. “Of course… He’s probably swiping right on everyone as well…” Rolling your eyes, you go to click off the screen but accidentally enter DMs.

Johnny: ye have any scottish in you? you: not that i know of. Johnny: would ye like to? 🫦 Johnny: wait. wdym not that ye know of??? Johnny: i was trying to be filthy and now got me curious bonnie

“Fuckin’ hell…” You said as you set down your phone and covered your face before breaking into a fit of giggles.

The fact you had accidentally ruined his pick-up line and succeeded in stumping him got you very, very amused. Okay, maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t as boring as you thought.

I just discovered the call of duty fandom and let me tell you I never read so much fanfic and hc in a week!!!

I will probably never play the game but I will still love those characters till my last breath. I am living for the cod cosplay community on TikTok and yes I was dragged there by the sheer power of our leader,✨💕Brittany Broski 💕✨

So here some fic/hc ideas I would love to read about but didn’t find🥲

• cod men going to the ren faire with reader who’s super excited and make the men dress up too (Simon dressed in a armor 🫠) ( the 141 that decided to go as a team with reader and they all play along and coordinate their outfits)

• gamer cod men that teach reader how to play and are super kind about it (bonus if in exchange reader teach them how to play cozy games like “animal crossing” or “a little to the left”

• cod men doing a date at the museum and reader is just a history nerd and basically do a guided tour and the men are just listening and be like: yup I am in love!

• cod men and reader drinking tea on the outside tables of a cafe and just gossiping about life and people that walked by (soap and reader with sunglasses just judging everyone like nobody could hear them and randomly dropping a “smash” every time someone hot pass them)

• (this one is especially for soap and it’s based on this TikTok https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGe9Taj72/ )

Just soap putting a kilt on at every single opportunity he gets because he loves it so much and reader had once said that they like it on him . So that’s how you get soap just rocking the kilt at almost every events they go together and of course, more than one time, there was a LOT of wind (Scotland is windy as fuck) and him being the idiot that he is and never learning from his mistakes, ended up butt naked in front of the whole wedding/party/baptism/family dinner/formal evening with the 141 … (he is a total idiot but I love him)

• cod men when reader put on the broski report every time they take the car and it’s just the both of them being super invested in what Brittany is saying. Bonus if it’s the first time reader put it on and of course it’s one of those episodes where she’s saying the most random shit and the proceeds to talk about religion and philosophy and they’re just there driving being like: “ I don’t know what this woman is saying but she did make some very good points” just becoming massives fan and buying matching sweatshirts with the broski report logo on it for them and reader. And yes, they start quoting her every day and it confuses everybody else!

Ok for the tag game I gotta know about the AU Khal

Hehe thanks Jay!! So my brain rot for Kid is so severe that I cannot watch any other forms of media without making it relate to One Piece or Kid in some way.

AS SUCH - AU Khal is a Game of Thrones/OP au, where Kid is the Khal of his crew. I think we all know where I'm going from here hehehehehehehhehehehehe. I have not worked on it since last year, but I will share the outline/notes I have on it but have been too lazy to actually write.

The travelling King, absorbs territories by raiding, claims one by forced marriage arrangement of reader/OC? Yandere type fic – dub/non con relationship, lot of violence and possessiveness, barbarian type start that smooths out to mutual understanding (Like Dany/Khal Drogo but less actual love and more Stockholm syndrome victim in love with her captor). Travelling kingdom with captive’s homeland as his base kingdom. Searching for Khal equivalence of One Piece? Wants to cross the black salt sea (the worlds oceans?) to conquer the other lands; captured reader in Braavos equivalent, reader is from Syrio Forel family and is talented swordsman but not talented against Kid. Kid can speak in common tongue but mostly speaks in Scottish gaelic especially during rages i think kid would be able to grow to become more affectionate and tender towards the character but it would be a while and not a common occurence only ever wears a kilt, no top has the long post time skip hair with a long braid in the back

I was actually wishing I had a last-line tag to share this. It is more than a line, a few paragraphs. But it is... to build-up the last line. So, thank you, @marbled-polecat for the tag!

I recommend listening to this song while reading. Specifically at the 1:30 mark.

As beautiful as it was, he truly hoped that Tipoca City was lonely as it looked atop that mountain. For only ten more seconds, as they dropped violently away in anticipation of the tidal wave’s first ambush strike, Sixty-seven was given a brief glimpse of Tipoca City—his home. He didn’t dare blink, he burned away his tears. Knowing that this might be the last time he saw it—his home, the only he and his million of brothers had ever known—still standing, he stared, and he would keep staring until he couldn’t see it any more.

Absolutely terrified, Sixty-seven tried to remember his strength, his courage, and everything else he had learned from his Trainers, from his brothers; he tried to remember the final words of Seventy-seven’s speech.

“—we all have the same heart, same blood; we are all Fett Clones, and we are stronger… together.”

Right now, he could grieve for the future unknown; he could feel for now. But, like the sight he had of Tipoca City, that was all he had the moment. For the next one, he would have to march on.

The last thing he remembered was the sight of the mountain’s top exposed to the open air, the cacophony of the Tiny-Little’s screams, the roar of his heart’s adrenaline war-drum beat, and the coming dull thunder no storm made—just the ocean, in all its fury. Then, they slammed against the water’s surface, and everything went dark.

Context: Sixty-seven is Rex. He is developmentally a nine-year-old. Also, yes, that is a seismic tidal megawave coming for Tipoca, and the whole city has been evacuated. As research quickly reveals, there is rarely ever one tidal wave, especially seismic generated waves. They are come in multiples, and the first is usually not the strongest.

This one always confuses me, because, um, people have WIP folders? I have fandom folders and in them are all my fics in that fandom, finished, unfinished, abandoned... So Imma divide this by fandom and then just include the ones I still think I might finish.

(Also putting it under the cut, because woops! so many... which leads me to the... not tagging people because yeah...)

first thing that came into mind was aggressive!John from TLD... omg i can't even think about it without my heart aching (i'm not kidding). john is such a sweetheart and so loyal in the beginning i think they did him really bad in s4. (and wtf was he thinking when he married mArY??? seriously dude!)

there is also the internalized homo/biphobia and queerbaiting but my hopes that moftiss will overcome this and fix it in s5 will never cease

🐇 Do you write for yourself, for others or both?

i would say both :) writing definitely helps me deal with my *eyeroll* fEeLinGs... but i also wanna impact people or better- wanna give them a good read? (which i hope i can even give 'em lol)

ANYGAYS i think writing and reading fanfics is this beautiful cycle of giving and receiving. from comments to kudos to reblogs to likes... it is an everlasting cycle and it is amazing. definitely motivates me to keep going... also makes me happy to support other writers ♡

oh my! too many to mention here! i'm currently obsessing over @totallysilvergirl's "Drawn to Stars" universe. i (basically binge-) read the main story but also two sequels and can't wait to read the last sequel (that is co-written with @7-percent i think? i really hope i am not tagging the wrong person here) soon! and the kilt!John story ;)

you could also check out my bookmarks on ao3. i tagged some of them with "turtely's favorites" but basically all my bookmarks are recs!!!
