König tropes I want to burn with hell fire

sorry for this unprompted rant but some of you guys are starting to ruin my favourite comfort character (CW mentions of noncon/r*pe, mentions of xenophobia, mentions of n*zis, general problematic behaviour, mentions of bad disability/mental health representation)

-1. Casual xenophobia- I’ve lost count of the amount of content that depicts König as a n*zi and I kinda feel like I shouldn’t have to tell you why that’s not ok. These things should not be fetishised and doing this is overall just super ignorant. That’s probably the worst instance of this kind of things but there are a ton of examples. Like a lot of people seem to think that every German speaking country is exactly the same. And to codify him as a German speaker everyone seems to think they can just slap on whatever offensive stereotype they want. As someone who has visited German speaking countries multiple times and knows native German speakers personally, believe it or not not all German men are rude, humourless, cruel, alcoholic perverts who treat women like shit and have a bunch of super fucked up kinks and no understanding of consent. If any of you had ever met someone from this part of the world you’d know that in general they are very polite and friendly people. If you want to use a stereotype there are plenty that aren’t offensive and ignorant that could be fun character quirks (eg. Germans always having to have the windows open, having a sweet tooth, having three different drinks with breakfast (water for hydration, coffee for energy, juice for nutrition. Trust me it’s a whole thing lol), being obsessed with always being on time (also works because he’s in the military) etc.). Like please at least try to be a little respectful. And if you’re going to show him speaking German at least learn the basics. Duolingo is free lol.

2 mental health/disabilities- as someone who actually has autism I think it’s kinda cool that some people have written him as autistic or having adhd etc. but if you’re going to do this can you please just do a little research so you get the symptoms right and not over generalise. Like autistic people can in fact understand humour and sarcasm most of the time we’re not robots. It’s 2024 like can we stop this trope please. A lot of people write him having anxiety or ptsd, which again I think is super cool but it’s often used as an excuse for him being aggressive/violent. Like this isn’t cute, if someone is treating you like this regardless of if they struggle with mental health or not there’s never an excuse for violence.

3 r*pe/non con- this point is kinda about fanfic in general but I see it a lot with könig especially. People need to understand the difference between a cnc kink and just plain assault. Cnc is a consensual agreement with safe words and boundaries and aftercare and mutual enjoyment. What most of these fics say is cnc is literally just him being a sexual predator. For a lot of people this is super triggering and romanticising r*pe is just disgusting.

again sorry for the rant guys but I really just needed to get this off my chest. Like this stuff has gotten in the way of my own writing and is really starting to ruin the appeal of his character. Like I beg of you can someone please write something where he’s just a sweet anxious Austrian guy who’s kind and respectful despite his reputation? Like I really don’t think I’m asking for much.

“Hey, have you ever heard of Dieter Bravo?” You asked your friend over coffee one morning at the BeachWood cafe in the Hollywood Hills.

“Oh! He’s that actor from Cliff Beasts! The last one was a total train wreck. I heard he’s trying to reinvent himself these days.” She took a sip of her latte, leaning back against the chair.

“Oh? Well, he swiped right on Raya. Do you think I should swipe back? He seems kinda…” you paused, tapping your finger against your chin, “prissy?”

She laughed and shook her head with a small smile. “I heard he’s a total diva, but I think he’s rather handsome in an unconventional, scruffy, almost endearing way?”

You pulled your phone out of your purse and opened up the Raya app, tapping a couple times till you pulled up Dieters profile.

“I like the heart patches in his beard.” You said with a soft giggle and swiped right on his profile.

Dieter is an erratic texter and he tends to jump around from conversation to conversation. You don’t seem to mind however, because thus far, there hasn’t been a single dull moment in your conversation. You find yourself stupidly smiling at your phone two days before you’re set to finally meet for this tea party. He sent you a selfie while he was out to lunch wearing his signature black rimmed sunglasses. You could tell from the picture alone that he was trying to take a candid shot of himself without making it too obvious.

When Friday rolls around finally, that’s when the first date jitters come knocking at your door. Dieter told you to wear something that you feel the prettiest in, so you went with a mid length floral dress that had a sweetheart neckline for just the appropriate dip of cleavage. The dress was flirty and fun, and it was that exact energy that you wanted to embody.

Before driving over to Dieter’s you stopped at Trader Joe’s to purchase a bouquet of fresh tulips and a box of lemon frosted cookies.

All morning Dieter had been scrambling in his house to set up for the tea party date. He was a bit of a perfectionist when it came to first dates, and this was no exception. Maybe, however, he should have held off on smoking a bowl. Oh well, too late now.

The weather broadcast did not call for an overcast sky till late in the afternoon, and yet, it was fucking cloudy!

Of course it was.

He moved the tea party set up to his sunroom instead, and by the time he had finally finished setting everything to his standards, you had sent him a text saying you were on the way.

Time to smoke another bowl before I literally shit a fucking brick on the goddamn floor!

Dieter’s home is tucked away in the Hollywood Hills, and when you pulled up to his front gate, you were expecting him to live inside some massive mansion like his neighbors, but Dieter’s home was the opposite. It was actually quite charming from what you could see.

He buzzed you in moments later while he frantically checked his appearance in the hall mirror.

Maybe I should have shaved? God, no. I look awful with no beard. He thinks.

He leans in close to the mirror, his nose nearly bumping into it as he nitpicked his features with a huff.

Maybe I should have gotten a haircut. He cards his fingers through his soft curls before finally deciding that he looks decent.

The first thing you notice about Dieter Bravo is his attire. Well, lack thereof. Compared to your pretty floral dress, Dieter was wearing nothing but a pair of gray boxer briefs, a tawny, sherpa robe, black crocs with socks and the same sunglasses he was wearing the other day.

“Well, don’t you look lovely!” He chirps enthusiastically and remembers to take his hands out of his pockets and wipes his sweaty palms along the outside of his robe. “It’s so wonderful to finally meet you, gumdrop!”

If it were any other man…you probably would have hightailed it back to your car and blocked his number. But Dieter wasn’t like most men that you had talked to. He was a bit of a misfit, but so were you. And that’s the main reason why you weren’t turned away by his attire.

“Hey! You should have told me that the dress code was casual, Dieter!” You jokingly said with a light laugh. “Had I known, I would have shown up in my lounge wear too! Oh, and these are for you. I hope you like tulips!” You nearly thrust the bouquet of tulips and box of lemon cookies into his awaiting hands.

“Flowers? For me? D'aww. You shouldn’t have! Honey, I told ya to wear what you feel prettiest in!” He stifled a chuckle, “and I feel my prettiest in my favorite robe and crocs.”

“Of course they’re for you! I couldn’t just show up here empty handed, Dieter.” You couldn’t help but giggle along with him. “Well, I like your crocs. I think they suit you nicely.”

He blushes under your compliment before taking a whiff from the bouquet, closing his eyes momentarily as he inhales the tulips sweet scent. “Thank you, gumdrop. I love your dress. Looks like it was made just for ya!” He sets the flowers and box of cookies on the nearest surface. “Shall we get this tea party started, my dear?” He rubs his palms along his robe once more.

It’s comforting knowing that he’s just as nervous as you are just based on his gestures.

He offers you his elbow then like the true trash panda gentleman than he is. You wrap your hand around his bicep, holding it gently as he leads you further into his home.

“Originally I had a plan to set everything up outside, but of course the weatherman was fucking wrong, again! So, I hope you’re alright with it being in the sunroom?” He looks over at you expectantly.

“Oh, yeah. The overcast wasn’t expected, but I’m alright with it being set up in the sunroom.” You reassure him with a gentle smile.

“Great!” He clears his throat, “So, I have just about any flavor of tea that your pretty head could imagine. Is there a favorite that you have?” He was this close to engaging in small talk with you, but then he remembered just how much you loathed it.

“You’re an avid tea collector then? Is this a recent hobby or something that you’ve been doing for awhile? And if I had to pick just one flavor, I’d go with vanilla rooibos.”

“A recent hobby. I uh—well,” he stammers, “I’m trying to reinvent myself and develop some healthier habits. I read that drinking certain herbal teas has a lot of health benefits, and then I recently got into thrifting and found the most adorable porcelain tea set!”

You catch the little twinkle in his eyes when he tells you about his porcelain tea set, and it’s adorable. You’re not used to men being so open about their personal hobbies and the things that make them happy. Dieter is truly like a breath of fresh air.

“Hey, I’m all for self-improvement no matter how big or small. Drinking tea does have a lot of health benefits, but I also find it’s just really relaxing, y’know? I love thrifting! You never know what treasures you’re going to find.”

He grins, shaking his head to the side as he bites down on the inside of his cheek. He forgets how nice it is to just have a real conversation with someone.

Maybe I shouldn’t have smoked a bowl before this. Does she know how high I am right now? I hope not.

“Oh, yes, it’s very relaxing.” He nods in agreement and you find yourself standing outside of two French style doors leading into the sunroom. “If my schedule allowed for it, I would go thrifting more.”

With your hand still clasped around his bicep, he pushes open the doors with his freehand and you’re met with the quantiest little setup in the middle of the room. A table in the middle, covered in a light pink tablecloth with two chairs on either side.

In the center of the table is the porcelain teapot Dieter was gushing over moments ago, and two matching porcelain cups. He even set up a little vase of flowers and a candle as well to really set the mood.

“I have a confession to make.” He suddenly says as he pulls out the chair for you.

“Oh? What might that be?”

“This is my first time hosting a tea party.” He lets out a sigh. “So I apologize in advance if it’s not what you’re expecting. I mean, I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting you to agree to this in the first place. I’m a bit—well, eccentric? I’ve just grown tired of the usual crowd I’ve hung out with, and I wanna—I wanna make some real connections.” He confesses.

“Well, that makes you and I both newbies then, huh? Dieter, I think we’re all a bit eccentric in our own ways. Honestly, I was just shocked that you didn’t send me an unsolicited dick pic right off the bat because for some fucking reason guys seem to think that’s what women, well, anyone for that matter want to see?”

“Wait, is that what people really do on those apps is send unsolicited dick pics? Fuck. Look, I’m a bit of a whore myself, but I always ask first before sending a dick pic.”

Ah, yes. Dieter Bravo is making sure that chivalry is alive and well, folks!

“Unfortunately that is what people do and then I am forced to go about my day knowing what some random man’s cock looks like! No one wants that visual in their head when they’re at work or out grocery shopping.”

He pushes your chair into the table gently and takes the seat across from you, and while pulling his chair in, he bumps the table with his knees, cursing under his breath when the vase of flowers nearly topples over. You’re quick to re-steady it and he whispers a quiet, “thank you.”

Dieter is an enthusiastic storyteller and you're fascinated by his ability to talk so animatedly and with so much passion. Your assumptions lead you to believe that it’s only because he’s an actor, but there’s more to the story. You see a little boy who had big dreams growing up. A boy who was dorky, awkward, and reserved till he got up on stage and his true personality came out. He was a one of a kind enigma. The type of character that you would have to read over a dozen times in order to truly understand who he was.

And when you detected his stuttering and that familiar nervous twitch in his eye, you reached your hand across the expanse of the table and found his hand, entwining your fingers together in a soothing gesture.

Your eyes met and he finally released the breath that he had been holding.

Hope I’m not blowing this entire thing down the shitter already.

“Shall we—umm, have some tea now? Before it gets too cold?” He suggests.

“That would be lovely, Dieter.”

He squeezes your hand gently before reluctantly releasing it from his grasp so that he can hold the teapot steady in his palms.

“You remind me of a frog.” You said out of the blue as he began to carefully pour the tea into the porcelain cup.

“..A what?” He sounds confused and a little surprised.

“Like a tree frog. They’re cute, and well, a little weird, like you.” You tease.

“You think I'm weird?" He chuckles.

"Yeah, but in a really good way."

Neither of you noticed that the tea was dangerously close to spilling over the side of the cup.

"Oh. Well uh…that’s good! I like being weird, and freaky. And creepy. Well, not creepy like a stalker, but creepy like—"

"Dieter?"

"Hmm?"

"The tea!" You exclaim and he finally looks down to see that the cup has completely overflowed with tea dripping down the sides and all over the porcelain saucer.

“Oh, good fucking golly!” He huffs while you sit there in a fit of soft giggles. This may be the quirkiest first date you’ve ever been on, but you wouldn’t change a thing. And for the first time in a long time, you’re excited at the prospect of spending more time with this eccentric man.

What do you like about Idia?

I got so excited when I got your ask, Anon. And now it’s your problem because I’m probably going to talk a lot lol Thank you very much for asking and giving me an excuse to shower Idia with compliments.

And sorry for replying so late.

To be honest, Idia feels scarily close to being a perfect character for my liking, he kinda has all the qualities that I usually fall for + somehow manages to (unintentionally) incorporate vibes of so many other characters that I like. A friend that got us into twst knew that I’d instantly get invested, it’s almost embarrassing, to be honest lol

So the easy answer would be that I kinda like everything about Idia, but I am annoying, so here are some categories:

Visual

Idia’s design is so damn cute. I really like the combination of him being a lanky scrawny creature with bad posture and being almost “moe” level of adorable. His creepy smile and silly giggles and dark aura works very well with his pretty face with dark lips and this almost… pathetic regular expression. I think his face is what I like about him the most, both the expressiveness and the way it’s drawn in general.

His hair, obviously, are also a big part of it. It’s so unique. One of the first things I said when I started drawing Idia regularly was “oh I’m going to miss drawing his hair so much when we move on from twst” lol Because there is really no other character like that (well, there’s also Ortho, but you get what I mean). The shape, the physics behind it, the fact that it expresses Idia’s emotional state so nicely not only in colour (which is very pretty btw, both the blue and the pink hues, and the orange ones as well), but also in how it “acts”.  

Also, Idia’s overall silhouette is great. It’s just… his clothing choices are so fun. His long moe sleeves in his PE uniform, his striped shirt that he wears under his uniform, and of course the huge bell-shaped hooded jacket that hides his body. For some reason it’s, I don’t know, especially cartoony? In a good way, of course.

And lastly, his body language. I love how awkward he is and how much he tries to take as little space as possible when he is stressed out or scared.

So yeah, as someone who draws, I really enjoy Idia. I always have fun with him, and it’s a huge part of why I’m so into him.

Personality/quirks

He is so annoying 😔 … and I love every second of it lol

I love the fact that Idia isn’t just a lovable hikki otaku guy, and he has a lot of unpleasant qualities: he is an elitist, he is stubborn, he is rude sometimes, he makes assumptions about other people (well, he’s surprisingly perceptive so he’s usually right BUT). He likes to tease and to get on the other person’s nerves, and whenever he feels threatened, it’s not unusual for him to attack with negativity first or just to take a dig at his opponent. He is both self-deprecating and self-loving at the same time. But honestly this is what makes him so great. I usually draw him being freaked out by others, but in fact I really really love it when Idia is insufferable.

Because it a) makes sense considering his background; b) is written in a way that is very fun to read; c) is balanced out very well.

Idia isn’t malicious; he’s just socially inept and genuinely scared of others. He is an asshole, but in reality it is due to the fact that he doesn’t know how to connect with others and doesn’t want to seem desperate, plus gets overwhelmed by others very easily. In fact, I think he is much more empathetic than Azul, for example, but I won’t talk about it this time.

I always think about that line that Idia said when he was roasting Riddle for not knowing how to play videogames. I don’t remember the exact line, but it was something similar to “I’ve never seen anyone who is as much of a noob as you lmao but I’m a fucking loser with no friends so yeah makes sense”. I think it describes Idia’s view on others and himself quite nicely: torn between “everyone is shit” and “I am shit”. “I am a genius and everyone is wrong” and… you know.

I also love that Idia drowns himself in his coping mechanisms, but he is still surprisingly realistic about what’s going on in his life. He did create a robot to resemble and act as his diseased younger brother, but he never allowed himself to forget that it is indeed a robot. He doesn’t want to forgive himself, but he also is tired of feeling pain and doesn’t know how to cope with it. So his solution is extreme escapism, but also hyper-awareness about his own faults and never-ending state of excruciating guilt.

So yeah, he’s such a fun character to dive deeper into psychology-wise.

Love his serious moments, love his silly moments, love his complaints, love his emotional rants, love that he’s passionate about stuff that he likes, love that he critiques society in the pettiest ways possible, love his giggles, everything.

(He also reminds me of Katsu in a lot of ways so I am biased lol)

Story

Oh I’ve talked about how much I loved Ch6 a lot, so I won’t write another essay (physically stopping myself).

I’ll be brief and just say that I honestly would have loved Idia even without learning his backstory, because he is just that entertaining, but knowing it made me appreciate him on a whole other level. I love how much depth his character has, how nuanced it is and how beautifully his chapter ended. Seeing him getting closure was very satisfying, and I love that it didn’t change his character drastically overnight.

His love towards Ortho is a beautiful thing, ship-wise or not.

So yeah I kinda just blacked out at some point, I think lol I can talk about Idia forever. He is just an extremely enjoyable character to both read and write.

I try to respond to as many comments as I can while I'm posting. Unless I feel the urgent need to respond to a comment, I only respond when I'm at my desk about to update. So I don't usually respond once a fic is finished unless the comment really compels me to. This is simply a time and effort kinda situation, I read them in my email and they always make my day, and I'm always happy to respond on social media if anyone ever wants to chat about any of my fics!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

The angstiest ending?! Uhhh I'm a happy ending girlie. I guess technically it's probably one of my Hosie oneshots in my A World Where I Was Yours series, just because it's my version of post canon of Legacies!

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

There are too many happy endings in my fics for me to decide aaahhhh. Ummmm. Maybe it's hard to breathe (when you're in the air) which is one of my favorite Hosie fics that I wrote?? but idk seriously they're all happy endings in terms of the pairing so it comes down to which characters in which fics had the happiest overall life situation and there are too many to think about it lol!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I've gotten negative comments for sure but I dunno if I'd call it hate exactly. The negative comment that I remember the most was on a Choni fic and they complained that the characters were too OOC, and it was nooooot done constructively at all and someone else (possibly same person different guest user) piled on even more rudely... so that wasn't fun (and also yeah all my characters are kinda OOC because that's what happens when you write AU?)

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I haven't ever posted any crossovers, but I did start one that was a Legacies/The Runaways crossover because of an idea that seriously amused me, but once I wrote the premise I got bored and stopped lol.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not a whole fic but back in my FF days someone took a Halloween Party chapter (wow I write those a lot actually, I'm not even a Halloween party girlie) and used it as a flashback on their Wattpad fic and someone kindly let me know and I had to message them to take it down.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? 

Yes! I had a few fics back on FF.net that were translated into French :) but the deal was that I wanted to post them because I wasn't comfy with someone else doing the posting of my ideas. And now I typically turn down offers of translation just because I'm less comfy with it now then I was when I was younger.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? 

I haven't, but I'd be open to doing so if it was for an idea I felt like me and the other author(s) were really vibing with!

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship? 

Impossible question. Whichever ship I'm currently obsessing over is my all-time favorite. Which would be Shadowzel rn. But probably in a few years I'll feel differently lol. I strongly feel that all the ships I've ever shipped are the best ever and I cannot choose a favorite.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Sooo many. I have a ton of Choni WIPs that I never finished, including one that got to like 20-30k words but just sits all dusty in its word folder. I once started a Part 3 to my Clexa travel fic (Come With Me linked earlier) that I couldn't get into but the vision was soooo cute. I also started a Part 3 to my Choni travel fic which also had a great vision but I'm just not as into Choni anymore so it feels hard to go back to now.

16. What are your writing strengths? 

I think I'm good at dialogue and characterization, those are my favorite parts of my own writing at least!

17. What are your writing weaknesses? 

Dude. I apparently cannot get enough of adverbs. I have to prune so many when I'm editing fics. Ugh. And I have some repetitive phrases that I also end up having to prune out.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? 

I've done it before with google translate and made modifications when people who spoke those languages corrected me haha. But it's not something I do often just because it hasn't really been super relevant to most of what I write.

19. First fandom you wrote for? 

Glee. It was Glee. I was 13. We don't need to talk about it.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written? 

My favorite?!!? It's always my latest fic, I pretty much always feel like the latest thing I'm working on is the best and so it's my favorite right now for sure. And that would be Reignited (Shadowzel).

I didn't stick around for level cap (obviously), now that I think about, have I ever stuck around for level cap? Kinda doubt I have because when would I have bothered?

That's another thing to consider since that means even less arcanes since apparently thrax spawn faster at higher levels (hearsay that I decide to believe)!

I digress. Didn't stick around because I was kinda getting bothered by nitty gritty things. At like the 20 minute mark I had a situation where I got distracted recapping an exolizer at "c" when the map was swapping to "a" spawns, and when I zoned back in from my daydream play I had to run like 700m to cap 3 exos at "a" before it timed out.

A VERY bad play on my part due to forgetting the game type loves making you run from C to A spawns. I wish it just went ABCBABCBA in spawns instead of just going "Haha, go run now :)" but I already knew I didn't like that mechanic coming into this lol

From like the 6 minute mark all the way to closing I had a bugged thrax just stuck in place in ghost form whom never got to die and give me any loot, and he was permanently marked on my map as a "risk" because he was next to an exo spawn, but you know, can't do anything about that because buggy enemy lol

Also had a moment that annoyed me where I jumped into an exo at the exact moment an acolyte spawned on my operator and one framed me. Obviously, you're operator, that's not really death, but something about going "Okay, time to do the boring chore part of this game type *SMACK*.... okay. Time To Do The Boring Chore Part Again Because Someone Was Rude." got to me. That's strictly my disinterest in the game mechanics of this game mode being exasperated by pure chance, and it didn't even negatively impact the mission- just my mood towards it lmao

Also energy was annoying. Considering my oberon can spam like hell in anything else with no energy issues this makes me curious on a basic game mechanic I might not know.

When you're in operator, I know your frame takes like 99% less damage or some nonsense (still CAPABLE of death, but unlikely outside of niche cases from what I've experienced)-

Do dick head mag thrax and energy eximus still target your frame and just drain you dry? Because I swear I'd hop into an exo with full energy, 'disable' it, swap to my frame, and just have 0 energy so I'm basically just playing a weapon platform with no weapon platform abilities, it got annoying by like the 3rd time it hit me like that -.-

Probably wouldn't have been an issue I ran into in a group due to diverted enemy focus. But I wanted to run solo because, IDK, I like doing shit solo sometimes lol

So overall I can now say, holy shit the people who hold Void Cascade on a pedestal as a fantastic grind- they are right as hell.

But, even knowing that, still not a fan of the game mode.

Running every 3 "zones" from C to A is boring. The chaos fucking rules! But then the game mechanic of getting knocked out of your frame to do busy work spraying portals is like the opposite of fun and my mind focuses on it instead of glossing over it like I assume others easily do.

Boring game mode with awesome chaos surrounding it and fantastic rewards- that's 2 for 3, pretty dang nice- I definitely have a newfound appreciation of it and might try hopping in to actually hit cap with some friends now that I know it's capable of being fun (definitely moreso with some friends lol) :P

I'm not a fan anymore due to my own personal reasons, but I want to be objective. Timothee wants wrong to ask that worker not to stake pics. He's in character, and it was unprofessional for them to consider the eclipse over their job. Also, after seeing Tom filing TCR in new York and dealing with paps and fans asking for pics, I can understand why he was paranoid and off cause he's in character but also feels violated if that makes sense. I think Timothee may be a bit of the method and also struggles with some type of anxiety. He's very paranoid recently, so maybe being as famous as he has created that more. There was a time he was so open, and noe hes closed off. Whenever he's papped, he wears a mask, so maybe idk im speculating.

However, this isn't the first case. I've heard of this diva behaviour on set, unfortunately. There were rumours on DM a few yrs ago that alleged some crew workers in London about his antics whilst filming Wonka, and he was unpleasant to a female PA for messing up his umbrella request. There were several sources who cosinged this, but because he's big, it didn't go any further than those rumours.

He apologised the next day and gave them signed pics of the merch, lol. At the time, as a fan, I considered that he was dealing with the aftermath of his grandma passing cause it was during that time, so maybe this time he's dealing with the pressure of being Bob Dylan. I'm not defending him cause I'm not a fan, but actors in some cases do lose themselves in roles. I even remember during the press for Dune 1, Rebecca said timothee was more of a character actor than she is. When they said cut, he's still in that headspace, whereas she's making jokes.

Even Z said during a q&a for Dune 2 when she visited set, Timothee was standoffish cause he was in character. He apologised for that. I'm more shocked at the accusations of the director allegedly pushing a worker and not caring cause directors egos are never fun to work with moreso an actor imo.

Timothee is tricky to discuss because hes changed a lot, so who can defend him without their own personal bias? Before, he was very open with fans, and now it's only due to work that he works when he does with his fans unless it's for himself. He doesn't gonna podcasts anymore or has personal interviews. It's not bad, but it can be jarring as those fans became accustomed to his accessibility but now all they do is criticise his dating life with conspiracy CC, lol.

I'm really a fan anymore, so I didn't think this article was going to hurt him, but I find it interesting that his agent isn't disproving it...

We will see.

Anyway, this is disappointing, because while I'm not a HUGE huge fan of Timmy's, I DO like him as an actor, and I did think that he was generally unproblematic and an overall nice guy. Now, I'm not so sure. 👀 Like I said, I've never seen him even looking like he's in a bad mood to anyone, not even fans lol 😆 So this is just kinda shocking to me.

But if there have been other reports in the past of his behavior, then that must mean there is a pattern.

I don't think there's ever an excuse to be mean and rude to people, so if this is the type of person that he is onset, then that's disappointing. 😔

I do agree that sometimes, people don't realize that a set is STILL a working environment, and sometimes it can be pretty serious! Some people just don't take it seriously and can be a nuisance, which can cause some actors to get annoyed. I know some actors can also get into character and have a hard time getting out of it.

Some also are trying to do a serious scene, and an interruption or disruption can break focus, and cause an actor to have to re-do a take, which is more time, energy, and money spent involved for everyone.

Weren't there some reports one year from an extra on the set of "Cherry" that said that Tom got a bit angry/frustrated with someone on set during the Emily overdose scene at the hospital because someone kept breaking his concentration or smthg? 🤔 I feel like I vaguely remember that from somewhere. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Either way, I guess my point is, I suppose it can happen to anyone? 🤷🏾‍♀️ We all can lose our cool sometimes.

I'll give an actor grace if it's a once or two time thing, but if it's a PATTERN with someone, then that is no Bueno for me. 😤

for starters, i'm relatively new to this platform. i was pulled in of course by none other than satoru x reader smut... but what REALLY dialed me in was your stories.

it started with ihm, i love how you write gojo and i live for the bantering 🤭 the characters feel so real and fleshed out, you impressed me right off the bat.

so after that, i found kickoff and girl, i literally BINGE READ the entire series, staying up until like 3 am LOL. i remember laying on my couch, going through all the emotions. kicking my feet, laughing, feeling pain from the angst 😭 looked at the clock and was like oh shit, tomorrow is gonna suck but WORTH IT 🫠

and the thing is... while yes, the smut was amazing (guuuurl especially when i'm ovulating, you have fed us good 😩🤚🏻), it wasn't the main thing driving me to your stories. what really hooked me in was the way you write and how you are able to bring so much emotion to these characters. also, you are reeeeeally good at building up their relationships 😮‍💨

Alex Rider S03E01 Reaction

So I've already watched all of s3, but I decided for some reason to keep a liveblog & take a moment after every episode to write down my thoughts/predictions/questions at the time. Some of it is very amusingly wrong, but I'm going to share it anyway because I do always enjoy reading liveblogs/reaction posts myself so maybe other people will want to read it too.

Note that while this contains no spoilers for later eps, I have read the book and reference it, so warning for book spoilers and me being unable to stop comparing the two.

And not to be mean but Kyra did kinda bring the stabbing on herself ashdflhs. Going off on her own because she got bored and then expecting Alex to do the fighting and treating the fight weirdly casually

It’s interesting how they seem to have changed Scorpia’s structure/origin story what with Mrs Rothman being elected and there being no client for this operation.

Them referencing Alex getting in with Tom setting fireworks in the books... i mean it's a nice reference but also actually that was more fun than Kyra just being able to hack their way in ngl ahsdlfhs. Not really the show’s fault, but modern tech & computer tricks make spy stories more boring

Also Alex just walked into the party in his suit and honestly this is one of those plots that only works because Otto is not a teenager. If he actually looked like a teen, he would have stood out waaaay too much (which was actually a concern in the book)

Alex grabbing champagne and later putting it back down again haha good way to blend in, I suppose

Love the trend of doctors/scientists in Alex Rider wanting to be paid more for their work. Honestly they deserve it because they won’t even get to publish their extraordinary findings

Shame we didn’t get Nile overpowering him like in the books, the difference in their fighting skills was so much bigger there, but I think they made Alex more of a fighter in the show. In the books he mostly needs to rely on the element of surprise and usually when he’s in a fight he’s outmatched and needs to use some form of trickery/his environment to win while show!Alex actually has pretty good fighting skills

I love Nile’s actor but I wish he could have actually taken Alex down like in the book, the way he loses Alex and doesn’t even realise it & thinks he died makes him look a lot less competent tbh

How did Alex climb up there?? And more importantly, how is he getting down haha

I get the feeling Yassen isn't gonna show up until Alex is with Mrs Rothman lol but at least we got to hear his final words ot Alex like four times

Overall

Really exciting, love seeing Malta and I’m intrigued at the differences between the book and the show and where it will lead. 

Thoughts/predictions

I imagine the race Tom’s brother mentioned will play a role and I liked the little bit we got with Tom about his grades being bad and maybe wanting to drop out. I guess Tom’s parents aren’t going through their divorce in the show? Also really enjoyed Alex and Kyra being more invested in the investigation than Tom and how they are apparently planning to take down Scorpia for their families.

I liked how we got to see more from Julia Rothman and Scorpia already and I’m intrigued by what Invisible Sword will be. Love Max having his ‘I have grandkids now’ moment and trying to talk Julia Rothman down and her being like ‘no I want to kill’. Looooved Nile telling Mrs Rothman to shoot him if he ever lost the appetite for killing.

I also really liked Alex talking about his dad and how he had nothing to do with spying and how his world got turned upside down when he learned about his uncle being a spy and now it’s happening again.

What’s the deal with Julia inheriting her place at the table? Not sure if I like the new origin story for Scorpia but I’m intrigued by the way they have a council now instead of an executive board and how it changes the vibes.

Hello hi yes a moot (@dnpanimationstudioclone) and i have been rewriting our own versions of Valerie from danny phantom (does this surprise you? It shouldn't lol) so without further ado 🥁🥁

Valerie Rewrite

To start the hcs, her suit don't slim her out no more, shes got a full on body builder body, let her show it. She could've started weightlifting at first to help with rubble as Red, but later found it to be a good stress reliever. Shes competed in competitions and placed. Prefers the snatch events to the clean and jerk events, as snatch events resemble rubble more than the c&j.

At her first competition, she accidentally floundered her c&j move, costing her points (?), but an older lifter saw and gave her some tips; at her second competition she placed 3rd.

Extreme gym rat, sometimes moreso than sam. Like, she has so much protein powder. There's a cabinet in the kitchen purely for her shakers and powders.

When she can't sleep she exercises.

Prefers sweet to spicy but will have her moments when savory just Hits Different

Loves emotional music, anything that makes her feel will be put in one of her playlists. It doesn't have to be good music, just music that can feel good. She always has earbuds in when shes in her civies, or a speaker going.

Doesn't play many video games but likes puzzles. Cross words, actual puzzles, rubix cubes. Things that make her think but not too much.

Has not only a nightly skin routine but a morning one. Sticks to these fairly well, also prefers korean skincare to american

Also, she needs a character arc.

Canon freshman val is extremely bitter, v hypocritical, fairly rude and overall mean.

Barring phantom planet from existence, lets say there's a bbeg that comes in early sophomore year that forces her to realize who rude she became after her dad lost his job, even before as a A lister

She reevaluates how she's interacted with the trio, specifically sam

Internally she's freaking out, cause the few people who treated her normal and loosely tolerated with her anti ghost propaganda she had treated like shit

She withdrawals for a few days, causing danny (the bloody hearted fool) to seek her out, where they don't have a come to jesus per say, more like a small slap by reality

Sam and tuck show up near the end of the convo, and ask her if she wants to change. This is her official first step to being a nicer human

From there, she starts treating the underlings nicer (finally puts Nathan in his place and calling him out on being a lowkey stalker). She briefly defends a few students from dash, also calling him out. Danny asks her to leave him n dash alone however, cause if the bully has no outlet he will explode (and it'll protect the students, adding to his Big O). She reluctantly does.

After they graduate high school, before sam starts train hopping, the quartet regularly meets up to haunt (ha) a few known teenager places. The nasty burger can only be eaten so many times when you have 3 very picky eaters. They explore abandoned buildings on the outskirts of town for fun not ghosts. They poke around the gas stations and alleyway shops. Since amity has such a low crime rate, shops are more open to stragglers and alleyways offer good temporary places for food carts

A few months after the reality slap, the hair incident as it is dubbed, occurs. So val and danny are fighting bbeg # whatever, and she gets hit in the back, and since shes tired the nanobots in her suit have to leave it. Later on in the fight, she dodges another blast, but since the hole in the suit is there, her hair is kinda out hanging and a good chunk is melted and hit. She doesnt realize until the battle is over, when she's back home and sees a mirror. Sam finds her a few hours later while she's having a mini breakdown, cause her hair was a big part of her emotionally, it took a long time to grow out that far. Sam helps her calm down, offers tuck and his mom to help care for whats left. While val is cleaning up, sam texts tuck and gets them ready for an emergency braid sesh. They finish her braids late in the night so the girls sleep over (thank goodness for weekends) and then the next day they all wake up and decide to do a self care day to take care of their skin n whatnot after the stressful yesterday. They even finagle danny into it (cause hes the worst at taking care of himself) and this establishes her trust in the trio after a shakey past relationship.

Trust has officially been built.

From here, danny pulls her into the group not taking no for an answer. She is used as a meat vs veg referee multiple times before calling them out on their bullshit and they also realize its time to grow up partially

She continues to grow into a well rounded individual who extends an olive branch to everyone, but has a lighter at the ready whenever. She sought to meet everyone in her grade. This helped her many times; a band kid covered for her while a ghost attacked the school, the nerds helped her with homework. When they graduated high school, she'll encounter people on the street and strike up a conversation. This doesn't mean she remembers their names, she absolutely sucks with names but will remember the brand of x product they're allergic to they mentioned once.

Before the end of her arc, (think 3/4) val ends up trusting the quartet enough to tell them she's red, and they have to tell her about phantom. After this convo she feels extremely betrayed cause they know how hard she's been working towards being more civil and they just didn't tell her she had been actively hunting and hurting a close friend. Not only that, she's betrayed cause they didn't trust her with the information prior, and they were right not to. She becomes withdrawn and only after a not-so-big-bbeg comes through forcing them to work together that she sits down and talks through her emotions with them.

What if when shes doing her character arc, she realizes Red doesn't have to be all fighter, she can use Red to start up a sense of community. So as Red, she starts helping out homeless folk and strays, maybe fills in a pothole or two; enough for the general population to start leaning towards community work too. Publicity for Red has never been higher, and more n more community spaces pop up.

After her stunt filling up some potholes, she's approached by various community members to help with various tasks; she helps clean up a playground, she helps install some sculptures, she promotes a soup kitchen. After a while, a reporter approaches her and does an interview, starting her media face. Realizing she needs a pr team but cant have one she opts to study communications and Becomes her own pr team.

Once shes officially grown, as Red shes more likely to ask questions than shoot, but still is less than pleased with ghosties. Red becomes more personable to the public, becoming a reliable ghost hunter and eventually starts doing press conferences after big fights. Still a vigilante but now has a social media account on the big ones (twitter, tiktok, and instagram) but also on amity's app, Amity Undead/"you've been ghosted." The app is similar in setup to twitter and tumblr mobile, however the og function was to send out ghost warnings, so like the "home" page is mainly the fentons phantom and red all giving alerts. The next page is like sightings of non harmful ghosts, the page after is the social part. Since red and phantom were part of the og posters, they have a decent sized following each and regularly do collabs when things calm down enough.

Eventually, she has to come to terms with how she treated Danny as phantom while they dated, making her look into herself (specifically her sexuality). While trying to accept her actions, she realizes shes part cupioromatic, and she immediately goes to sam about it, who shows her its ok to be that way. Sam and Val research it together and help val come to terms with it (remember, this is illinois in the early 2000s anyone who ain't hetero is gonna have Some internalized homophobia)

Speaking of, how does the quartet get together? Well, it starts once val started her arc, and they all grow closer. Fighting the world with each other tends to make you a bit closer. Once they graduate, val and danny attend college online, while tuck and sam forgo it all together. Tucker already has a name for himself in the back walls, (a hc black market online for tech) so he just uses that to make the bulk of his money, putting up a front of creating a small coding firm for the IRS (cause ain't nobody sane gonna mess with them). Sam does her thing with finding train hopping, and at age 19 leaves Amity Park to grow.

Since Val and Danny both attend college (val in communications, danny in engineering and precise machinery) they hang out often, using each other as a study buddy to create a somewhat schedule for themselves. Further on in their college career, they realize they're Extremely close, and Val has to tell Danny about being cupio. He takes it as  well as sam, and shows her its ok to be lgbtq; he himself is pan afterall. Val decides to tell tucker, since sam and danny both know now, and he also supports her, stating that he's loosely bi but prefers no label, just that he likes who he likes. This prompts the three of them to all look at how they've all interacted in the past, and realize that all three want to date the others (in varying degrees, in d&v's cases) so the next time sam is in town, they all decide to talk about it in tucker's apartment.

Its a bit of a confusing process that changes a handful of times, but eventually lands on t romantically dating all 3, d romantically dating s&t and platonically dating v, s romantically dating d&t and platonically dating v, and v platonically dating d&s and romantically dating t. It takes them a while to get used to this arrangement, more than a few rough patches to realize communication is Key, but once they settle they realize they could've never come up with a better solution.

Queen Dorothea comes by eventually to congratulate the four of them and offer to make their union bands, a ghosty version of marriage. Its traditionally taken up by the siblings of the union holders, but since v&s&t are all only children, dora and jazz have a blast designing them.

Danny and Val want rings, danny a thinner black band that has a more gothic tone, with black and green zone stones. Val has a thicker band has the black stones of danny's ring but with a dark grey metal holding them in place with fleur de lis embellishments along the band. (Kinda like this:)

Sam and Tucker opt for bracelets instead. Sam has a bunch of layered zone-bark braided bracelets, one for each of them-danny's has star charms and black zone gems, val's has miniature baptisma flower charms and a muted red center stone, tuck's has mini acacia leaf charms with zone stones that colors "glitch" in earth light, and her own was braided in a pattern that looks like train tracks with a charm from each of theirs plus one for her: a hebrew script saying home. Tucker's bracelets are 2 gold wristlets, each inscribed with a symbol for each of them, inlaid with gemstones and covered in mini hieroglyphs describing each of his union-partners. Sam's symbol is a thorny vine which is intertwined with Val's baptisma sprigs, danny's is a star rising above the horizon that is the girls' vines. (Again, kinda like these but use your imagination)

When Val and Danny graduate, the quartet go on a "honeymoon" ei they go to the ghost zone to explore. Val is extremely off put by the idea but says nothing, letting her partners enjoy their time. This comes to light when they visit dora, who approaches her while the other three are off doing something Ghostly and val confides. Dora snitches, saying her brother would never allow his partner to be uncomfortable. Big feelings come out. The trio realize their mistake and offer to cut it short, but val says she'd rather continue going through the zone meeting Danny's entourage. They take val through a much safer than originally planned route, showing val the great calm and peaceful parts of the zone, and val finally understands why the others like it so much. When they make it back to earth red appears much more ghost friendly, still a fierce protector but more empathetic to the regulars and the non threatening ghosts.

They all move in together about a year after the college graduation, each of them saving up enough to help with the deposit on the house. Tucker still covers almost all of the bills, but danny (and later sam) covers groceries and the like. Val does most of the chores since she doesn't have a job other than Red.

She enforces self care weekends on the rest of her quad once they all get together properly.

Is the second best cook but the best baker. Like previously stated, she's got a sweeth tooth so sugary beetles chase after her lol

The only one of the quartet who can legally drive. Tucker failed his test too many times, danny doesn't need it, Sam didn't need it before she left and has too much going on after she came back and recovered, so Val took it up.

Her room is the second biggest and the only one on the main floor of the house, cause the rest of the quartet couldn't handle listening to her midnight exercising sessions. She has display cases for all her trophies from weight lifting and karate, fake vines on her ceiling, a closet without doors, and lots of quilts. More quilts than blankets. No she cannot sew; for the life of her she can't.

Not all of her equipment fits in her room, so she has a small portion of the garage dedicated to her bigger weights and mats and whatnot.

Once she went to state competition and took Tucker with her; they were both approached by a very pretty person and both struggled™️ when flirted to directly to their face (pre union). Val went on to tie with said pretty person while lifting and had to do an extra event to split it, they ended up doing some weird flexible one and Val won because of her time as Red. Afterwards pretty person gave val their number and they're still good friends to this day and get a meal together if they go to the same competition.

Eventually her suit is redesigned once more. The suit is red until the bust, where it begins to be a black taper that encircles her waist and up, with extremely understated black vines along the outer seams that become red at the color change, so understated it's just bold lines from the public's view until you get really close. It has sharper lines across the face and visor, and the gloves have reinforced knuckles to have the ability to punch ghosts. The suit also adds miniature embossings, looking a bit like explosions. Her board also gets a touch up, becoming longer and wider so she can sit on it in the sky on slow days.

As her arc progressed, she would incorporate more beads and fun touches to her hair, eventually using wooden beads in a nice mid length braided style.

In her civvies, as Val, her fashion sense drastically changes. I hesitate to use the term bohemian cause its just romani culture (which is closed practice i think?) but i feel like she would like the free flowing and flowers of that fashion niche, so once she and sam get their heads together and research it properly, val ends up buying romani inspired clothes from romanian companies that are sustainable. Her fashion style is rather mixed beforehand, very athletic with arty elements before settling. She still throws in her own elements, artsy and hippie stuff here n there, athletic stuff occasionally. She has an eye for making them clash in a good way.

Don't let her fashion choices fool you though, she is fierce when crossed and is quick to burn bridges. Even after her arc she is a bit hot headed, but friendly enough to the general population.

While Red and in her mid 30s, a bbeg comes through and wrecks havoc; danny comes in and saves the day but val gets hurt Badly. A civilian finds her and gets her to the hospital, where she is unmasked. Afterwards, their house is barraged with reporters aiming for an interview. Sam has to threaten charges for them to leave. After it calms down for a bit, the public mostly is okay with her being Red; some people still give negative backlash against her being there but its not like they can stop her.

After recovering partially, she's out on a brief patrol when a ghost with meh powers comes through trying to cause chaos. Sam came with her, so they face it off together, before being sucked into the thermos the ghost does end up cursing Sam to be "a dreaded creature of night" aka a vamp. However, with meh powers comes meh curses; she ends up with slightly sharper teeth, an aversion to garlic, the craving for iron and coconut milk, and slightly stronger and faster reflexes. Val blames herself a lil bit for this but Sam honestly finds it pretty cool. Val buys sam her first iron fish to boil to bring up her iron content.

I’m really tired of the notion that “if you disagree with me on this piece of media, you must be stupid or watching it wrong or mot thinking critically enough”. Maybe this is just a problem I have (because I have interacted a lot with terminally online young people), but whenever i like something thats popular to be hated on and I explain that “Yes, I legitimately thing X is a good piece of media and I disagree with many of the criticisms” People act so fucking rude and dismissive and just act like you’re Stupid. “Oh but you know that theres a difference between liking something and the quality actually being bad” Yes, I know this, when I say X is good i legitimately think its a technically well constructed thing. People get baffled by this.

I get it: it can be fun to really rant about bad games or movies or something. And it’s good to have opinions and to criticize things, that’s how art improves! But I think on the internet people who are chronically online tend to be really overly negative, since anger is what drives the most clicks, to the point where I think the words “bad game” is over used and no one can see the positives in a piece of work anymore :/ . When you’re calling perfectly decent games “horrible atrocious bad the worst game ever” when its competent and well put together, it kinda makes those words lose all their meaning. If you’re calling everything horrible, then when you actually play a truly bottom of the barrel piece of shit then you’ll be in for one heck of a surprise. A game doesn’t need to be perfect to be a good game. In fact, its impossible to create a flawless game or movie or piece of media!. if the gameplay is a little messy but the writing and characters and art and everything else is fantastic, I think it makes up for it. Games/movies/ect. are the sum of all their parts, and when most of the components making up a game are good, then it’s safe to call the game good (I understand thats very subjective and there are people who are like “nuh uh bad gameplay makes the whole thing ruined” which. if you wanna live like that be my guest but sounds exhausting dude)

But overall, even if someone DOES think a piece of “bad media” is good: does that justify being mean or rude to the person? Does that mean that they’re stupid or that they must not consume media critically or that they just have bad taste in all media ever? No, of course not. If my friend were to tell me they’re really into like. the minions movie or some shit, I might be like “oh i don’t think that movies good lol” but you should know when to draw the line when it comes to disagreeing and just being mean and dramatic. (ie, stuff like “Wow you have horrible critical thinking skills” “I can’t trust anything you say because you think the newest pokemon game is actually good, you must be stupid💀” (real things people have said to me about liking certain movies or games or whatever))

(Do not derail: this post is not about problematic media/creators like harry potter or south park or shit where there are such bigoted flaws in them to the point where you cannot separate the art from the horrible ideas in it . this post is about Normal games/movies/ect. that are so hated on that people are actively mean to fans of the thing, even though the media is probably just Fine)

I know! I hope my answer wasn’t completely incoherent haha! I just think that Trey and I would NOT be friends, lol, I don’t think it would work. But I do weirdly think we could work romantically (despite the age difference obviously). The reason I say that is I think the dynamic shifts when there’s other elements like attraction and a shared life. More patience and understanding maybe. Hmm, I am so not good at explaining myself, this sounds contradictory.

But anyway, Matt just seems very agreeable :) I’m just kinda going with my gut on these answers. I guess being a Trey girl I don’t talk about Matt as much, but I love listening to his stories in commentaries and I think he’s very good at keeping interviews on track. Like, when an interviewer, like in that Theater Talk interview, says something inaccurate or rude, Matt can pivot very gracefully. I think it conveys his affability. He also seems like a very active listener. Also you just know he’s fun to be around with how many friends he gained, and kept, over the years. I’m not super outgoing so someone who can carry the convo a bit (even though I know Matt said he’s not THAT extroverted) is very helpful. Overall I think his vibe is very cool 💖💖
