The Savior of the Damned
Relationships: Verin Thelyss/Original Demon Character, Verin Thelyss & Essek Thelyss, Essek Thelyss/Caleb Widogast
Rating: Mature
Chapter 1/?
This is technically CR fanfic but is truly an off-shoot of my Netherdeep campaign. Please take a chance on this even though it’s got an OC!
Taskhand Verin Thelyss will do anything to close the planar rift allowing Abyssal demons access to Bazzoxan. He’s desperate to save his people from the threat, and, though he won’t admit it, desperate to get a much deserved break.
So if it comes down to fucking a demon, he will fuck that demon.
But when said demon divulges information about his long lost father, he enlists the help of his brother, Essek, to journey into the Abyss for answers and, hopefully, solutions. At the same time, this messy thing between him and his demon guide seems determined to develop into something more—if it doesn’t kill him first.
So, meet: Mairon, a demon mage with a sweet tongue and rocking bod who almost certainly has a hidden agenda. 😉
And of course, Verin: little brother of Essek Thelyss, the dutiful son, the Taskhand of Bazzoxan, and my precious lawful good cinnamon roll who seriously wants to get laid (but craves emotional intimacy even more).

18+ 3.3k homelander x plus size f!reader. workplace harassment, stalking, voyeurism, masturbation, lite humiliation kink, sublander flavored. nebulously takes place post s1. part 1/4. AO3 link. | Chapter Directory
Homelander is on top of the world. He can say or do whatever the fuck he wants, and the sycophants around him will bend over backwards to make his word law, with few notable exceptions.
He never expected you to be one of them. When you put him in his place after a workplace incident, he becomes fixated on the promise of a firm hand alongside a soft body.
Tumblr media
It’s Thursday, which means Homelander is currently bored to tears less than ten minutes into Vought’s weekly digital marketing meeting. These monotonous discussions of percentages and trending graphics gradually begin to feel like a drill pushing slowly into each of his ears, but they’re a necessary evil if he wants to have input when it comes to his image.
He taps his fingers impatiently on the armrest of his chair. The tapping pauses, however, at the appearance of a new presenter.
You.
You’re a far cry from the dime a dozen jackass in a suit that had been presenting before you. He’s sure he hasn’t seen you before, which means you’re new. His gaze drifts from your round face to the sensible cut of your blouse, the garment buttoned nearly to your throat. Anything less would be considered lewd given the size of your breasts. He wets his lips absently, adjusting himself to sit a little straighter.
He’s completely lost track of what you’re talking about in favor of watching the way your hips sway each time you walk from one end of the board to the other, tactfully engaging each observer. You have a resonant voice, commanding attention without sounding harsh. With a rack like that, you must have to fight to have a word you say heard by anyone with even a passing interest in a good pair of tits.
Not that the cheap fabric of your bra is doing them any favors. Silk would be better. He’s always liked the shine of it. Softer, too. It wouldn’t scrape against your shirt the way he can hear that cotton blend you’re wearing is doing.
Curious, he focuses his vision to peer through your blouse. Your undergarments are plain and sensible. Boring. Still, it elicits a distinct pang between his legs. His mouth waters slightly. Even from where he is, he can smell you, fresh and clean, slightly sweet smelling–like vanilla. Your clothes may be pedestrian but at least your perfume is nice.
Letting his gaze slide lower, he admires how the curves of your body flow into one another. He can tell just by looking at you how soft you would feel against him, under him. How good you would feel to grip and hold in place, sink into and lose himself in. Your voice has a soothing quality to it that lets him easily imagine you’re breathlessly singing his praises instead of rattling off bullet points in a presentation.
Fuck, he’s getting hard, his cock throbbing lightly against the cup of his suit. It’s the only thing that allows him to fantasize as freely as he does. The best part of it is that he’s fairly certain he can sense something warm and wet throbbing between your thick thighs.
He suspects he’s not the only one fantasizing.
The room is quiet for a second too long, and Homelander abruptly tunes back in to realize you’re staring directly at him, expectancy in your gaze. He pulls a blank, realizing he hasn’t processed anything you’ve said. “Say again?”
There’s a flicker of irritation in your eyes before you tightly school your expression back into polite professionalism. His lips slowly split into a devious smile that he consciously fine-tunes to be more neutral. How close you came to some sort of heated response was kind of… cute. It makes him want to give your proverbial pigtails another tug just to see what else he can evoke.
The thought of pulling your hair is good. The thought of you pulling his hair is better, though.
“I asked if you have any feedback for our campaign leading up to the premiere,” you say, though Homelander finds himself more interested in the flash of your tongue he gets as you run it along your teeth afterwards. Your temperature is up a notch, too. You must not be used to such direct attention from someone like him.
“Nope,” he says glibly, turning on one of his patented knock-out smiles. “Looks good to me.” At that, he pointedly looks you up and down, meeting your gaze with a quick wink.
Judging by the slight tic at the corner of your mouth, you aren’t charmed by his response. Still, he waits in preemptive satisfaction for you to appease him by returning his smile.
You don’t.
Instead, you say nothing more than a terse “Wonderful,” the singular word barely passing for civil, let alone professional. You move on, and Homelander finds himself taken aback. You don’t meet his eye for the remainder of the presentation, and while that gives him plenty of opportunity to ogle you, it bothers him.
Towards the end of your time, he clears his throat. Everyone looks at him.
Everyone but you.
“Thanks so much for your time,” you say to the committee, smiling, finishing your piece with a small incline of your head. You go sit, and there’s a slightly awkward pause before the next presenter takes center stage.
Homelander sits in stunned silence. The idea that you, some fresh faced nobody, think you’re in any position to blow him off is laughable at best. Who cares if he didn’t pay attention to your little presentation? That’s not his job. You’re lucky he’s even here, lucky that someone like him would think to give you time out of his day.
By the time the meeting concludes, you haven’t spared him so much as a glance. Indignation builds hotly in his chest. He’s had more than enough of being snubbed lately. He’s not going to tolerate it from the likes of you.
You should be on your hands and knees begging for his attention.
He watches a handful of your peers congratulate you on your first presentation, though plenty of others cast him wary glances and decide not to approach you. They know better. They know who’s really in charge around here. Naturally, they all skitter away like roaches when he strides towards you.
“Not bad for your first presentation,” he tells you, his smile toned down into a thin, lopsided smirk.
You look around yourself, no doubt taking note of how the other little insects around you have scattered. Maybe now you’ll realize your mistake.
“Thank you, sir,” you say, your body angled slightly away from him, as if you’re ready to bolt at any second.
“Got a lot on my mind, though, so I don’t think I absorbed as much as I could have,” he says, laying on that boyish charm a little thicker than usual. “Would really appreciate it if you could stick around and run that by me one more time.”
Your gaze flickers away from him–he wishes you would stop doing that–to the others who’re filtering out of the room, slowly leaving the two of you behind. “As I said during the presentation, all the documents will be available online,” you say, finally looking back at him. You actually have the audacity to look annoyed that he’s talking to you.
“I don’t have a computer,” he replies, his own voice beginning to flatten.
“I’m sure someone in IT can help you with that,” you say, undeterred by his attempts to corner you.
His smile tightens minutely. “Do you have some kind of problem with me?”
Your heart jumps. He finds satisfaction in that, at least.
“No, sir,” you say sharply, a barely discernible hitch in your voice. “What I have are deadlines. If you’ll excuse me, I’d like to meet them.” With that, you manage to squeeze by him. Despite the steady confident tap of your shoes against the floor, your heart races rabbit-like in his ears.
He contemplates you as you go, momentarily stupefied by your flagrant disregard for him. You weren’t entirely unaffected by his presence, though. If you’d had less of an avenue for escape, would you have been so flippant? He continues to focus on the beat of your heart as your steps carry you further from him. It doesn’t slow. You’re still full of adrenaline, the scent of it lingering alongside your perfume. He inhales a slow, deep breath, the leather of his gloves creaking as he curls and uncurls his fist.
Homelander finds himself wondering what your agenda is, what makes you so desperate to break from the norm and catch his attention. It’s clear to him that’s what you want. Why else would you be so stubborn where anyone else would yield? He scoffs to himself.
God, it’s so obvious in hindsight.
He has no doubt that your brazen attitude would shatter if he pressed in closer, if you felt the heat of his breath on your lips. He could part your soft thighs and paint the face of God on the ceiling above you with his tongue inside you. You couldn’t dismiss him so easily then, could you?
Tumblr media
You’re so determined to be noticed that it’s almost pathetic. He shouldn’t reward this kind of behavior, and yet he feels strangely inclined to commend it. What you’ve done is brave in a way. Insolence and sycophants he can’t abide, but a touch of bravery? Well… That can be rewarded.
Your heart thunders in your ears as you make a beeline for your office. You can feel a terrible burn crawling up your chest and into your cheeks, the reality of what just happened finally allowed to sink in. You had spent all morning preparing yourself for presenting your work in front of not only your new peers at Vought, but in front of the world’s most prolific superhero. You were solid, you were ready.
Until you felt the gravity of his gaze on you. The weight of it made you stutter where you shouldn’t have, lose your train of thought mid-sentence. Every time you dared to look at him, he was looking at you like he was going to swallow you whole. Never have you felt more acutely aware of yourself than you did beneath his stare, feeling the way he was picking you apart as keenly as you would feel his hands undressing you.
It left you as furious as you are flustered.
That arrogant bastard!
You close the door behind you with a rough breath, closing your eyes. You can’t even sit, you have to pace your office instead, shaking your hands out as you walk. You know you weren’t imagining it. He confirmed as much for you when it took a solid eight seconds of silence for him to tear his gaze up from your chest, smiling as wickedly as any devil and caught elbow-deep in the cookie jar.
You couldn’t look him in the eye after that. It was humiliating to be reduced so thoroughly and obviously in front of your peers. Worst of all, he seemed damn pleased by it.
Though that isn’t the only reason your heart is still racing. You’re not quite ready to address that yet. You’re fairly certain if you’d been forced to speak to him any more than you had, you would have said something that would cause you to lose your job. You just need space to breathe, to collect yourself, to–
There’s a brisk knock at your door. Great. What now?
“Just a m–” You’re stopped dead in your tracks by a familiar flash of red, white and blue as Homelander lets himself into your office, closing the door securely behind him.
“Howdy,” he greets. He looks cartoonishly wide and brightly colored against the neutral colors of your office, even more larger than life than he’d seemed in the conference room. He has a smile that looks like it belongs in the mouth of a shark about to take a bite of you. It sets you off kilter completely–not that you’d been much on it to begin with.
You gawk a moment before managing to close your mouth. “Homelander,” you say, your voice curt in your own ears. You have no idea how to address him, still frazzled from not only the presentation, but your interaction that followed it. You should ask him what he needs.
“What’re you doing here?” That came out ruder than you meant it to. Not that he doesn’t deserve it. Still, you’re trying to keep this job.
“Are you always this pleasant?” He asks, cocking his head slightly as he comes to a stop in front of you, his arms held behind his back beneath his swaying cape. “Or did I catch you on a bad day?”
Is he serious?
“Your conduct today was inappropriate,” you say flatly, settling your hands on your hips.
Homelander scoffs lightly. “Oh, relax. You gonna ‘#Metoo’ me over a wink? Christ, you’re done up tighter than that blouse of yours,” he says, his gaze dipping. A chill rolls up your spine as you watch his tongue roll along his teeth. He’s like an animal anticipating a meal.
Your jaw drops, cold shock settling in your gut alongside that blistering heat. Of all the things you had prepared yourself for before coming to Vought, Homelander being a misogynistic sex-pest hadn’t been on your list.
Well. Not the sex-pest part, anyways.
You point to your office door. “Get out.”
He blinks, zero comprehension in those deceptively charming baby blues. His smile turns incredulous. “I’m starting to think you don’t understand what’s happening here,” he says, his tone taking on a precarious edge. He lets out a breathy, mirthless laugh. “You know, most people in your position would be begging for my attention.”
There it is.
You suck a noise through your teeth, nodding slowly. "Oh, I understand exactly what’s happening here,” you say, shifting your weight like you’re winding up for a pitch. “I know you think you're special because you're famous, or a supe, or both. I know you think I should be grateful that you’d even look at someone like me, but you’re not special, and I’m not grateful. The reality of the matter is I can get dick whenever I want it–good dick–and I can get it without being humiliated at my job.”
The silence in the room is deafening. Homelander looks stupefied, but you decide that you’re not done.
“You're not blessing me by making entitled passes and crude remarks while I'm trying to work. You’re being a nuisance,” you say, your heart beating in your throat. “So please, would you kindly leave?” You ask, voice firm despite the friendlier nature of your phrasing.
Finally, Homelander is the one left gawking. He looks like a fish with the way his mouth keeps opening and closing, but it’s the dismissive, aborted little scoffs he makes in between that really sell his wounded bewilderment. You can see tension lurking just beneath the surface, an anger that skulks in the creak of his leather gloves.
Fear begins to creep up the back of your throat, burning like bile, but you hold steady as he seems to be deciding what he’s going to do with you. The longer the quiet stretches on, your focus entirely on the subtle spasms in his expression, the more sweat begins to prickle at the back of your neck. You refuse to fill the space, you refuse to back down.
For all his power, he’s still just a man.
Eventually, he swallows. “Okie-dokie,” he says, his tone unlike anything you expected. He sounds confused–a little dazed, even. He walks to the door, and after one hesitant look back at you, he leaves.
The door closes with a soft click that still makes you flinch, the sound of it loud in the silence of the room. You blink several times, the abruptness of his departure making the whole encounter feel like some sort of fever dream.
What the fuck just happened?
Tumblr media
You’re not special.
The impact of those words struck Homelander’s ears like a loud, painful ringing that follows him as he walks out of your office. He feels off balance, each step leaning slightly to the right.
It’s a ludicrous statement. Objectively wrong. Who in the fucking world could be more special than him? He’s a literal god, and you’re no one. A faceless, nameless cog in Vought’s mechanism that hoists him to the top of it all. That’s your job. To elevate him. Worship him.
Instead you spoke to him as if he were nothing. He could have cut you down where you stood for that. He could have put your head through your office window, snapped your neck, held your skull and burned your eyes out of–
He shakes his head sharply, swaying. He all but stumbles into the bathroom, surprising one of the worker drones washing their hands. “Get out,” Homelander says gruffly.
“Uh, sir–”
“Get the fuck out!” He snaps, startling the man so badly he immediately rushes off, fumbling with the door on his way out. Homelander slams it shut and lets out a ragged breath, digging the heels of his palms into his eyes, then his temples as he paces the bathroom. His reflection taunts him from his peripheral vision.
He hasn’t been able to look himself in the eye since he snapped his Doppelganger’s neck while he knelt before him.
That’s what he wants from you, isn’t it? Mindless desperate praise and worship. Why, then, does the thought od it make his stomach churn so violently he can taste the burn of bile? He tugs compulsively at his suit collar, the press of it against his skin uncharacteristically hot and itchy.
“I can get dick whenever I want it–good dick.”
He shamefully palms himself through his suit, confusingly hard amidst a swirling turbulence of contradicting thoughts and feelings. He could be good for you, too, if you’d fucking let him. He knows he could make you crumble, take apart that carefully constructed demeanor of professionalism and make you see him for what he is. He can prove himself to you. He will prove that you’re wrong about him, and then you’ll show him the love respect he deserves.
Hurriedly, he unzips his pants. His eyelashes flutter as he shoves his hand into them, roughly grabbing hold of his cock. He braces his forearm against the bathroom door and lets his head drop forward, watching his crimson glove pump the leaking head of his dick. His mind bounces between scenarios. He imagines himself in your place, fully on display for you to ogle. He imagines you’re watching him even now, staring him down with that unaffected look of indifference, of irritation, of disgust.
He bites back a whine, gritting his teeth. He wants so badly to imagine his face buried in your soft tits while he fucks the plush space between your thighs, but he knows you won’t let him. Not right away. You’d make him earn it, wouldn’t you? You’d make him watch you please yourself before he ever got so much as a taste.
The glassiness in his eyes begins to sizzle, the moisture burning away as crimson light flares up in them. Would you laugh if you could see him now, or would you scold him for touching himself without your permission?
Homelander comes hard, tipping his head back with a loud moan as he paints the bathroom door with ribbon after ribbon of come. He barely manages not to blow a hole through the ceiling, the light of his eyes flaring and softening in time with each euphoric wave of release. He pants through it, head falling forward and thunking lightly against the door, resting there while he catches his breath.
“Fuck,” he exhales eventually, sighing. He wipes his hand on the wall and then carefully tucks himself back into his pants, his mind swirling hazily on the best high he’s had since…
Clearing his throat, he puts himself back together before leaving the bathroom. Clearly, the thing that he’s been missing is a challenge.
Luckily for him, you’ve kindly volunteered yourself.

What Do You Mean I'm The New Grand Sage?!
Alhaitham, Cyno, Tighnari, Kaveh x Grand Sage! Reader; separate, gender neutral
In some twisted turn of events, Lesser Lord Kusanali herself thought you are the best candidate for the position of the Akademiya's Grand Sage. From a Haravatat Researcher to soon running a whole region, how do you deal with this? And do the prodigal scholars approve of you?
Tumblr media
'It's been weeks now and there's still no proper Grand Sage.'
'If it were me, I would have fired the two remaining sages, they might scheme as revenge.'
'How can we trust the choices of the next Grand Sage anyways? What if history repeats itself?'
Despite the House of Daena being respectfully quiet with only murmurs and mumbles from the surrounding entourage, these unspoken words taunt and occupy the mind of the Dendro Archon as she takes into account all the thoughts of her people regarding the matter.
All the candidates for the Grand Sage and other sage positions, as well as the exceptional figures of each darshan (some of which are familiar to her) crowd around the table where the Lesser Lord situated herself.
Unfortunately, based on Nahida's standards, none of them qualify for the position.
"Lesser Lord Kusanali?" Opening her eyes, Nahida tilts her head to the Scribe situated on a seat next to her, a quill unused in his hand. "Is something the matter?"
"Just deep in thought." Crossing her arms, the god of wisdom would hum to herself as she tapped her chin. "For example, what would the new Grand Sage do once they get appointed?" And with that, she closed her eyes again.
As expected, more thoughts filtered through her mind as the audience took the bait and began pondering on the provoking question in their minds.
'Just do what the past Grand Sage did? Minus the evil? This is easy.'
'As a Grand Sage, I would probably fire all the personnel, they can't be trusted.'
'Cultivate wisdom and govern Sumeru as best as possible, right?'
'With the Lesser Lord in power, probably just answer to what she wants.'
'Hm, to what extent did Azar mess up the system anyways? It would definitely be good to fix the things that he deliberately abused as soon as possible, right? The unnecessary laws, look into the international affair decisions he's done too, he might have signed contracts that would be damaging to Sumeru in the long run -'
A hit! But an unfamiliar voice. Opening her eyes, the god of wisdom looked around the area to look for the voice to match a face.
"Are you looking for something, Lord Kusanali?" Cyno straightened up on his stance by her side as he watched the archon stand on her seat. The action urged him to scan the area too, albeit for different reasons.
'Why am I thinking about this right now? I should really hurry home -'
"Over there!" The crowd parts like the sea as everyone in the area turned towards someone in researcher garb. Which looks to be... drenched in water. Looking up from wringing the sleeves of your robe, you finally notice all the attention on you.
"Ah! Sorry about the mess, I fell in the fountain in front of -"
"You shall be the new Grand Sage, (Y/N)."
The whole Akademiya seemed to have quieted down to the point that you could hear the individual droplets of water splatter from your hair on to the marble flooring of the House of Daena.
"Huh?"
And like catharsis, everyone exploded in exclamations of disbelief. Including you.
Tumblr media
"With their determination alone, their steadfast effort is enough to shape them to the right person to hold the title of Grand Sage."
With the absence of the Akasha Terminal and the person that holds records of documentations and research, Alhaitham was reasonably the person that people flocked towards for information about you. Despite the inconvenience, there are a lucky few that the Scribe entertained.
The male personally knows you as a Haravatat graduate who researched about the current civilization and quality of life of Sumeru in great detail, something that honored your name for being their darshan's most cited thesis. And when asked about your eligibility to be the next Grand Sage, he repeats those words, even when the archon herself asked.
After all, he himself had been privy to that determination. Your dedication to graduate and use your knowledge to create something worthwhile, beneficial, purposeful. A kind of vigor for knowledge so pure and immense that not even he remembers having the same amount of passion.
Even now as he pretends to be occupied with his book, he watches as you practically lay on the huge table for Azar the Grand Sage in exhaustion, Alhaitham was confident that your sighs results from your worry of finding the best solution.
He lowers his eyes back to the pages just in time with you finally lifting your head. "Alhaitham?" He pretends the small smile was out of politeness, not because you have yet to get accustomed to being entirely formal with him.
"Yes, Future Grand Sage?" Alhaitham masks his voiceless laugh with the book in his hand at the sight of you huffing, sputtering at the foreign title.
"Azar had you draft the gazette when he makes up a new law or order, right?" He nods, you grip your head as if you were having a headache, which is quite likely at this point. "If you don't mind, do you think you can give me a copy of all of the laws he created? And the meeting transcripts too?"
"That is certainly doable. However," you straightened up when Alhaitham stood across the table to stare you eye to eye, placing his book on your table. "That would be hundreds of documents to go through, are you sure you're able to utilize that amount for your perusing?"
The expression on your face showed that you haven't exactly accounted that part. But there it was, that flicker in your eyes that captures you so perfectly, the perseverance that had always kept you afloat. Now he can bare witness to it. "I'm sure."
Even if he didn't have to, Alhaitham stayed by your side the whole time, assisting you about certain laws and contexts if you ever needed it.
And when you fell asleep on the table after hours of reading, he immediately placed his cape on your shoulders, because you needed it.
Surprisingly enough, Alhaitham is the one who puts in a good word about your designation out of all of them.
What they're unaware of is that he's quite fond of you and your prestige, being in the same darshan had him subtly defending you from the rumors other darshans/candidates spread.
You should be grateful that you have Alhaitham as your Scribe. Not only is he meticulous and dedicated to his work, but he acts as your assistant with how closely related your positions are.
Perhaps his usefulness and help also stems with the fact that he was the most recommended candidate before he declined, and the knowledge he had honestly makes him look like your master and you his apprentice.
A lot of times, you end up comparing yourself to him when you feel like you're lacking.
Thankfully, Alhaitham's perceptive made him aware of your tells, and knows when you're having such thoughts. He would try to derail that train of thought immediately, subtly remind you of your progress, or straight up tell you you're wrong.
For such an emotionless co-worker, he sure does well with being your hypeman.
Tumblr media
"A lack of harmonious relationship with the archon, even with the people of Sumeru, became the downfall of Azar, . That level of respect is crucial in ensuring that history would not repeat itself."
As Lesser Lord Kusanali's main guardian, it was only logical that his beliefs about what the new grand sage should embody reflects that. And perhaps there were also some details that influenced his opinion, details that he would never elaborate on.
This isn't the first time he had been less receptive to the decisions of the archon (the first being the punishment of the Sages, if you can even call it that) but this one has more potential to go awry than any other.
His cold stare only grew colder, sharper, now that you've been assigned the highest seat in the Akademiya. You can tell his prejudices without him having to spell it out.
The harshest of glares usually happen when you request an audience with the god of wisdom, him always standing by her side in case you become hostile. Which is honestly quite a hilarious take - you? Harming a god? But with the history of the previous Grand Sage's you can't exactly call his fault.
In your case however, despite the stories of Cyno's job as the General Mahamatra, you never once feared the possibility of his judgment on you as an academic. After all, if you had done nothing bad, then you're out of his case, right? So as far as you know, this is your first time knowing about each other's presence.
Although, being nominated after you fell in the Akademiya's fountain and made a mess everywhere you walked certainly isn't the best first impression.
However, after one too many times you feel a chill up your spine yet see no one when you look around the area for a possible cause, you're starting to suspect that he may know you more than you know him.
"She's currently resting in the Sanctuary of Surasthana, don't -"
"Ah, no, I'm not here to ask about Lesser Lord Kusanali today." At your sheepish demeanor, Cyno opted to close his mouth and wait for your reason to approach him. So you continued. "I was actually hoping if you could accompany me to Aaru Village."
"The desert?" Why him?
"I've heard that you've been closely working with Lesser Lord Kusanali to rebuild the relations with the desert side of Sumeru." Your fidgeting made him notice the thick notebook tucked under your arm. "I wanted to ask questions about the details, as well as see for myself what else could be done."
There was a long pause of silence that passed by with you mostly avoiding looking into his eyes directly. Humbled but respectful. Cyno sighs. "You're not in proper attire to journey to the desert, nor do you have the proper equipment." Your gaze followed his retreating form until he stopped and looked over his shoulder to you. "Are you coming or what? Standing around does not count as preparing."
"Right! I'm on it!"
It was a long process, but you managed to convince Cyno of your worth, especially when it comes to your efforts to help the desert. He had seen it all himself and at this point he couldn't deny it any further.
Cyno would find his tailing to be out of security instead of suspicion, often times finding himself walking by your side as your protector whenever you had to go out. After all, you're still an important figure, your safety is high priority.
Soon, it would be you who he would go to concerning updates about the desert, hearing out your efforts for rehabilitation. Your desert internship program to help Setaria with her education efforts is by far his favorite.
Despite being the General Mahamatra, he found a bit of his job description changing: being the protector of the Dendro Archon and the new Grand Sage.
Whenever you have to cross to the desert to either talk with the village chief or negotiate with the Eremites, he would always find time in his schedule to be your escort.
Perhaps it was his mistake to doubt Alhaitham's judgment on this one. At the very least, Cyno became your ever reliable check-and-balance.
Tumblr media
"At the end of the day, well intentions are enough of a factor to understand the path one would trek no matter the adversaries."
Tighnari was positive that he wouldn't have to deal with the Akademiya anymore after Lesser Lord Kusanali, maybe even enjoy a more peaceful life in the forest now that the Withering had stopped spawning together with Eleazar disappearing.
But of course, the exiled sages just had to be dropped into his forest for their 'tap on the wrist' punishment. Perhaps that would be the end of the Akademiya pestering him now that there's no need to exploit him for some evil scheme.
Well, the world had never been to kind to the forest watcher, what would make this any different? The hybrid would sigh as he watched a group donning Akademiya robes approach Ghandarva Ville, none of which he's familiar with.
This is a larger group compared to the ones the previous sages trying to coerce him back to the city brought - now that he squints, there seem to be Corps of Thirsty members tailing the group, too. This doesn't bode well at all.
At least Cyno's there. "And what business do you have in Ghandarva Ville to cause such a ruckus so early in the day?" Straight to the point, Tighnari stares dryly at the person that seems to be in charge of the group.
However, at the sight of Cyno freezing up in his peripheral, the forest watcher immediately realized that this is unlike any other encounters he had dealt with. Unlike the arrogance of the other scholars and sages, he could see how you looked conflicted from speaking.
"Seeing as you don't look to be well-informed," ah there's the Akademiya scholar he expected. The researcher gestures to you. "The Future Grand Sage is here to see the exiled former sages in hopes to interview them about their previous positions."
He wants to bite back, he really does - why was he not informed beforehand? Why are there so many personnel with you? How sure are they that you are not trying to conspire with Azar? Why are YOU the next grand sage?
"Alright." And he will never admit the relief he felt when your despondent look immediately lifted at his response. "It's a bit of a walk from here. And being the person assigned to oversee their training, I would like to be there during the exchange too."
"Thank you." You cut off the arrogant spokesperson before he even uttered a single word of protest, presenting a bulky journal in your hand to the forest watcher. "I actually prepared a set of questions to ask that you could verify -"
Old habits die hard, and admittedly, Tighnari didn't want to treat you more than the people he works with everyday, the people around you can easily do that for him. But he refrained from letting any past prejudice cloud his judgment on your character: there is undoubtedly something different about you in comparison to the old sages, and he didn't want his attitude to change that.
One day during one of your many visits however, Tighnari may have spilled a bit about his discontent about the attention your entourage brings to his forest. Even with you next in charge, he still dislikes bringing the affairs of the Akademiya to the forest rangers' territory.
He thought his words was out of pocket when letters of notice regarding your arrival ceased. Did you get all the information you needed from the sages? Or was what he said finally drove you away? That wasn't at all his intentions.
One random encounter brought him answer when the suspicious cloaked figure waving at him from behind a tree turned out to be you. "You said you didn't want my personnel to come so I decided to visit discreetly from now on."
At least you were... considerate. Conversation came easy without multiple glares constantly stabbing him in the back, talking about your progress as well as the conditions of Ghandarva Ville on the way to the training area of the sages.
While he was wary and skeptical about your appointment despite his utmost trust in the dendro archon's judgment, Tighnari soon came to accept your honesty and determination.
That transparency and good-intended perseverance are what Azar lacked, but under your rule, perhaps Sumeru would really be in good hands now.
Tighnari leaned against the tree as he watched your passionate discussion with the previous Haravatat sage. Undeniably, you as you are now without the title, greatly reminds him of someone dear.
Tumblr media
"We've long realized that wisdom alone begets arrogance. Perhaps fixing the prejudices against the pursuit of art and whatever this and that Azar has gotten his grubby hands on should be first priority."
"Let me through! I must speak with them, this is important matter, too! If the new grand sage is really -"
Turning your head towards the commotion, your conversation with Alhaitham ended shortly as a tuft of blonde became visible from the sea of Mahamata's trying to keep him away from you.
Patting the imaginary dust off his sleeves, Kaveh would look into your baffled gaze with unyielding resolve. "I've heard you had been meticulously gathering the opinions of Sumeru and thought I could be of help."
"Exercise some tact, Kaveh, we're in the presence of the appointed Grand Sage here."
"I don't need your sass today, Scribe -"
"No, it's fine, Alhaitham. I was actually planning on talking to Kaveh at some point, anyways." Wait, you are? Kaveh dumbfoundedly asked as he watched you move a few books around to get to a worn out journal under the pile. "I assume you're here to represent the arts."
Besides the conversation, Kaveh insists he takes you out to the Bazaar and his magnum opus to properly showcase the culture. Alhaitham, who looked positively displeased of the impromptu outing, had to stay back to focus on documenting a new batch of submitted thesis.
It was endearing to see someone as passionate about change in Sumeru as you talk about the harmful acts Azar published against the Bazaar and the pursuit of arts. Well, what else can you expect from the Light of the Kshahrewar?
Talking to him about anything and everything felt like you were conversing with friends, a very vocal and expressive friend. Especially when you're introduced to the Palace of Alcazarzaray, something he looks at with both pride and regret.
"I am simply making sure that Alhaitham had not brainwashed you with his sense of morality. Knowing him, you won't gather such thoughts about the importance of arts from him."
"Thank you for bringing this to my attention." You really were, after running around from here to both ends of Sumeru, you're very grateful that your source of info decided to come to you instead. "It's not an easy feat trying to undo 500 years worth of corruption."
"I can already see how Sumeru would be under your care." He flashes a genuine smile. "Thank you for hearing me out as well, future Grand Sage, I'm rooting for you. You're already doing much better than the previous Grand Sage."
It was a simple reassuring squeeze on the shoulder, but when he finally sobered up from the feeling of elation, Kaveh can't help but scream to his pillow about how buddy-buddy he acted to THE FUTURE GRAND SAGE!
Kaveh offers a fresh perspective and a lighter, reassuring encouragement in comparison. Perhaps being the person who knows less of the details helped form a positive judgment.
Like Tighnari, he keeps a level-headed approach when it comes to your position, but less about respect and more on shared beliefs.
When it comes to efforts to rehabilitate certain areas, Kaveh is always quick to offer his guidance and opinion. He knows you trust him due to his honesty and genuine want for a better future for Sumeru.
He's also the type to casually waltz in to your office when he has a brilliant idea or important information to share. At this point, he's talked to you more than the new Kshahrewar sage - if he's so adamant to be heard, why didn't he accept the nomination?
Whenever he stumbles upon you when you're outside or he sees you pondering the giant orb™ in your office, he's quick to voice his concern and urge you to take a break.
His intentions recently are hard to read, but he really does believe in you, and he's not shy to voice that fact.
You just find yourself missing the quietness of your office before Alhaitham and Kaveh's banter in front of your table became commonplace.
Tumblr media
"The Akademiya and Sumeru as a whole would surely flourish under this new samsara if I were to lead it with you by my side."
Lesser Lord Kusanali gives a knowing look at the sight of you standing straight in the presence of the archon, opting to offer your seat (which she declined) and refusing to sit down as a sign of respect.
She didn't need to read your mind to know. "How have you been? I've heard from the others that you've been working really hard to prepare for your inauguration."
Conscious, you pulled at the grey sleeve signifying your position as the current sage of Haravatat. Admittedly, it was a little stiff and stuffy for you, thicker and more uncomfortable than your uniforms in the Akademiya as a scholar and researcher. You missed those times.
"I've gathered a lot of opinions and information about operating as a sage as well as the current matters of Sumeru." Nahida smiles widely at this, before her expression faltered when you still had a bothered look on your face.
As far as she knows, you've gathered all the resources you need, more than you need even. So why do you seem troubled still despite your meticulous preparation? "Is there something in your mind?"
"I don't - I respect your wisdom, I really do and I'm honored that you think of me this way. But I'm - is this really the right decision? Am I really fit for this?"
Oh, so it's about that! You looked up from your journal laying on the table at the sound of the dendro archon's giggles, not at all expecting that reaction. Was your question that laughable?
"Not at all, I'm just amazed that you haven't noticed." Floating over to where you stood, her tiny hands reached up to give you - head pats? Embarrassed but too scared to deny, you took the gesture. "Since that day, I was certain that there would be no other puzzle piece that would fit the position of Grand Sage other than you."
You part your lips to interject, but she was quicker.
"And besides, there are many who share my view. I'm not the only one who believes in you, and you will see it for yourself when the time comes."
"When the time comes?" Holding on to your hand, Nahida starts pulling you towards the elevator and out of the House of Daena. Only when you reached the double doors of the Akademiya did she finally let go.
"You have these doubts because you are a good person, (Y/N). And even then, your own thoughts cloud your mind from seeing that the only person that doubts you now," Nahida would gesture towards the door. "Is you."
Looking back and forth between the entrance and Nahida's encouraging smile, you took a deep breath before pushing open the door -
Only to be met by a roar of cheers and explosion of applause.
Your fellow Sages, Alhaitham, Cyno, Kaveh, even Tighnari (with his ears pressed down) stood near the entrance with smiles of their own. But looking past the Akademiya staff and scholars, a crowd made up of Sumeru citizens from Port Ormos, the Bazaar, Ghandarva Ville, and even Aaru Village occupy the platform and every inch of the paths going up and down the Divine Tree.
Their collective chants mixed together to convey their utmost respect and belief in you.
"Every single one of them are here to root for you," turning to your side, Nahida stood next to you with a gray hat cradled on her palms. "Grand Sage."
Biting your lip to stop a big wobbly grin, you finally let out a relieved sigh as you kneeled in front of the god of wisdom, closing your eyes as she walked forward to place the hat of the Grand Sage on your head.
"People of Sumeru, may I present to you the new Grand Sage, (Y/N)."
The overwhelming amount of support from everyone made you take off your monocle to rub at your eyes.
And when your biggest supporters stepped forward to congratulate you, everything felt just right.
You got this.

What if the x men played DND
This is what I think their characters would be
Beast: is the forever dm
Cyclops: the most lawful good high elf paladin to ever lawful good high elf paladin
Jean grey: starts with a standard lawful good high elf wizard but min maxes into an entirely different character about three times until she is once again at lawful good elf wizard. But now it's a different flavor of elf!
Morph: chaotic neutral plasmoid fighter
Wolverine: just homebrews himself into the game, with a custom barbarian subclass of "escaped living weapon". No one realizes what he did until he mentions that his hidden wrist blades come in sets of three and by that point they are three sessions in.
Jubilee: neutral good half elf druid/sorcerer, with a dramatic heroic backstory, stunning good looks, and she knows everyone just like in her fairy tale ep
Gambit: a purple lawful evil to chaotic good tiefling rogue/warlock who's patron makes him steal treasures as offerings in exchange for blessings of luck and powers to charm others
Rogue: girl found out you can seduce in the game and is playing a chaotic good damphir bard so she can seduce as many as she wants in the game she and gambit tag team to seduce all the monsters.
Nightcrawler: everyone thought he would play a lawful good tiefling paladin but instead he's playing a chaotic neutral tabaxi cleric/monk that is also a pirate
Storm: started out playing a min-maxxed to hell Asimarr druid but got tired of it quickly and is now playing Snarf, the chaotic neutral kobold ranger/wizard and is having a blast. Especially with fireball.
Xavier is not allowed to play because he keeps cheating by reading beast's mind to meta game and magneto was kicked out for being a problem player and kinda murder hoboing a village of humans that were harassing a goblin.

Lore Compilations (+ this blog's tagging/filter list at the end)
A WIP of a pinned post table of contents to tidy up the blog while I empty my fixations onto it plus a lore accuracy disclaimer (so I don't have to keep typing one), because why not. I like tables of content.
-
Disclaimer regarding lore accuracy: If you combine 50 years, 5 editions, 10+ settings, god knows how many novels, and then all the writers who all retcon and contradict each other's work then what you get is a clusterfuck. The lore I show here is compiled from all five editions of the game. You will likely see stuff out there that contradicts some things I say, or stuff I didn't mention/know. That's the lore for you. If you were the Dungeon Master making your own story, your job would be to pick and chose and build your own take on the setting out of it. I, personally, heavily favour older lore. Larian absolutely did this with Baldurs Gate 3 - frankly, I don't think they even know half this lore even exists, and Bioware took some liberties in the original games too. Wizards of the Coast themselves trample D&D into the ground all the time! All D&D is near enough fanfiction built on fanfiction. Therefore, if you find any information useful you may take it, leave it or tweak it to your desire for your own story, because it's D&D lore, and that's how it works.
Disclaimer regarding Larian's canon (and Bioware, and Obsidian): The setting shown in BG3 does not really match up to the setting as presented in sourcebooks (and sometimes novels, previous games, and 'word of god). I'm always talking about the latter and reframing the story and characters within the latter.
Disclaimer regarding asking me for my opinions on how [x] works in canon: I can make an educated guess based on the sourcebooks, but there are many gaps in many places and however educated the guess, unless it comes from a sourcebook, novel, or writer, it's just my own headcanon.

Tagging system:
Various lore things that don't go in the larger compilations are tagged lore stuff. Things that aren't lore will get tagged babbling.
For sensitive material, such as if I feel like poking at the various delightful topics presented in the game:
I'll use edgelord hours as the generic "reader discretion advised"
The tag villainous nonsense means Dead Dove Do Not Eat.
the family circle is an extra warning for discussing the themes and subtexts such as those present with Bhaal's cult and the Bhaalspawn: including reproductive horror and sexual abuse, including the incest.
If I feel like posting anything I scribbled ("art"), the tag will be the scribbles
When I'm making posts and being negative or complaining about video games and trivial stuff, it will be filed as: griping
Whenever I find or consider something new about the Dead Three and/or want to rant and scream insults at Bane again, my tag is the idiot three
When I babble about my characters, I tag it OCs, and the ocs are also tagged by name. So far I've only mentioned Vel
If I don't want to put my babbling about certain characters into the tags, I'll just put the / in front. /astarion, /orin, /gortash, /durge, etc
When I want to babble about stuff happening in my game as I play it, they're tagged playthrough shenanigans. The original games are bg2 playthrough shenanigans.
When I start talking about my oc's romance with Astarion I'll tag it petty murder boyfriends

I'm back!!!
I'm back!! I was literally in no spirits to write fanfics, but thinking about picking it back up again.
Really have been in a Honkai Star Rail brain rot lately (mostly about xianzhou men ^^), and many ideas just popped into my brain. So please read through all of it and tell me which one you think I should start first. And please repost or share it with others! Comments are important!! I know it's long, but just bear with me. It's vital for me (>.<)
Long Fics:
Jing Yuan x Reader
Trope: Childhood friends to lovers
Relationships: Jing Yuan x Reader, TBD
About: Based off of a Ming dynasty emperor who only loved one woman (his childhood friend) for his whole life.
Reader Gender: Female
Tags: Fluff, Angst, Hurt/comfort, Ancient China au, childhood friends to lovers, Honkai Star Rail x Reader, hsr x reader, female! Reader, jing yuan x reader, hsr jing yuan, honkai star rail jing yuan, jing yuan x you

Dan Heng x Reader
Trope: Reincarnation
Relationship: Dan Heng x Reader, TBD
About: Loosely based off of the c-drama 三生三世 (it’s really just an ost that inspired me). Dan Heng loves reader for the longest time, but instead of him reincarnating, it’s reader. Basically, reader is mortal while Dan Heng is immortal and heavenly law states that immortals aren’t allowed to fall in love with mortals. Essentially Dan Heng breaks that rule many times and gets punished many times (i.e. heavenly prison, loss of status, etc). And what if reader becomes immortal one day?
Reader Gender: Neutral

Jing Yuan x Reader
Trope: Maiden and knight
Relationships: Jing Yuan x Reader, TBD
About: Another one based loosely off of c-drama (again, it’s the ost doing it for me). This time loosely based off of Love Like the Galaxy. Some characters may be more calculating  than in the show. Only really thought of this cuz of Jing Yuan being a general.
Reader Gender: Neutral

Blade x Reader
Trope: Good x Evil
Relationships: Blade x Reader, TBD
About: Another another loosely inspired by the c-drama, Love Between Fairy and Devil. Though no, reader isn’t really gonna be an innocent dunce from the start. May display dumb, but not make it her personality. People around reader keep trying to tell them to stay away from the evil ones, but reader doesn’t really listen (cuz folks really don’t be telling them what the evil people look like) and ends up meeting the leader of said evil forces, Blade. Plot starts towards the beginning of the war between the good and evil.

Dan Heng x Reader
Trope: Can MDZS be a trope itself?
Relationships: Dan Heng x Reader, TBD
About: Inspired by MDZS/The Untamed. Although it won’t be danmei and will deviate with the fact it’s more chronological than having long periods of flashbacks (yes I’m looking at you Untamed, why tf did you spend so many episodes on flashbacks and then everything after just went by so quickly??? But that’s just my opinion -- anyways). Obviously not everything is going to be 100% accurate since this is a fanfic inspired by MDZS/The Untamed and Star Rail isn’t that.
Reader Gender: Neutral
Tags: Fluff, angst, hurt/comfort, guzhuang, Honkai Star Rail x Reader, hsr x reader, gn! Reader, gn! Reader, dan heng x  reader, hsr dan heng, dan heng x you,  suggestive, resurrection
♡ ꒰ ◞ ◟ ꒱⌒)ᦱ 𓈒 ૮₍ ´ . ˕ .` ₎ა 𓈒 ⊹ ໒ ꐦ `ヮ ´ ა
Blade x Reader
Trope: Princ(ess) and knight
Relationships: Blade x Reader, Dan Heng & Reader (platonic)
About: Blade is assigned to be the personal guard of lord/lady by none other than their brother, Dan Heng. The lord/lady only thought of Blade as a sword and shield, they never thought they’d ever fall for the man with many mysteries. Yet they know, that those who hold many mysteries are the ones most likely to betray and use. That was just the way of court life. However, a small part of them just hopes -- wishes that Blade would never betray or use them for ulterior motives.
Reader Gender: Neutral
Tags: Fluff, angst, hurt/comfort, guzhuang, Honkai Star Rail x Reader, hsr x reader, gn! Reader, gn! Reader, blade x reader, hsr blade, hsr blade x reader, blade x you, hsr blade x you, protective! Blade
♡ ꒰ ◞ ◟ ꒱⌒)ᦱ 𓈒 ૮₍ ´ . ˕ .` ₎ა 𓈒 ⊹ ໒ ꐦ `ヮ ´ ა
Luocha x Reader
Trope: Immortal and mortal
Relationships: Luocha x Reader, Fu Xuan (just filling in the role of the monk)
About: Based off of the Legend of the White Snake. Deviation will occur. Reader doesn’t have a sister, and Luocha is an actual doctor not scholar.  Reader will not be imprisoned in a pagoda (like is some shows/rendition of the story).
Reader Gender: Neutral
Tags: Fluff, angst, hurt/comfort, guzhuang, Honkai Star Rail x Reader, hsr x reader, gn! Reader,  luocha x reader, hsr luocha, luocha x you, hsr luocha x you

About: Very loosely based off of Fuhao, the Shang dynasty warrior queen. Reader is is a priestess and  a warrior, going off to fight battles and returning victorious until one day, she didn’t return. Stricken with grief, Jing Yuan prepares a burial and tomb for his beloved queen.
Reader Gender: Female

What about D&D alignments? Who would fit where? (in reference to csd x undertale souls)
I'm not used to doing these, so I could be a little off
Y/N - neutral good
Sun - lawful good (is it neutral good if he would be willing to be unlawful for the sake of protecting Moon? Or is that too small of an exception to change the alignment?) Edit: neutral good
Moon - chaotic good
Sunna - chaotic neutral
Meno - lawful neutral
Eclipse - ...Eclipse is actually way too complicated, I'm gonna need to take the test for him, wait
Tumblr media
CHAOTIC EVIL, 30. CHAOTIC GOOD, 29. CHAOTIC NEUTRAL, 27. OKAY. LET'S JUST SAY CHAOTIC THEN...?

Hi! Since you kindly offered your lore expertise, I'd love to hear your take on the whole "DnD vampires are intrinsically evil" thing. What exactly is that based on and how would it affect their decision-making and their relationships? Also, I feel like we as a fan base generally only ascribe it to vampire lords, not spawn, but is this actually justified, based on the source material?
Thank you for helping us newbies ❤️
okay this is a GREAT question and a complicated one to answer. becasue it's less about lore and mor about mechanics, in a way.
so DnD uses the alignment system - from lawful good to chaotic evil. as players, we get to decide our character's alignment, but creature/monster statblocks have one assigned to them.
in the case of vampire spawn, that alignment is neutral evil. in the case of true vampires, it's lawful evil.
so, yes, in mechanical terms, one might say that all vampires are inherently evil based on this alignment. however, in recent years we've seen DnD pulling away from this sort of "all of X are X alignment" system. case in point: the drow. drow used to ALWAYS be evil, with Drizzt as the rare exception. but this is fairly problematic for a lot of reasons, so we now see DnD focusing more on drow society being dark and evil, but individuals are still capable of subverting this.
so, back to your question: are vampires and vampire spawn always evil? and the answer is... complicated. the lore says yes, but the lore also says all drow are evil, but we have seen exceptions and now the game itself is shfiting away from this idea.
here's my personal take:
vampires are *usually* evil. for a lot of reasons. over time, hunger for blood will start making you see people less and less as people and more as food, making you lose compassion. there's obviously a cycle of abuse as well (the game does a great job with this one), where one's sire plays a big role, and the fact of who becomes a vampire, because its not unheard of in the lore for some power hungry people to seek it out.
but can there be exceptions? i'd say so. we've seen them among other monsters, so why not?
so perhaps not a very concrete answer. the crossroads between lore and alignment is messy at best.
tl;dr: the mechanics and some lore says yes, all vampires are evil aligned, but modern DnD's approach to alignment would imply there can be exceptions to this.

Idaten Jump x DnD Moral Alignment Chart
Surprisingly this was more fun to make than I anticipated.
Tumblr media
If you want to read through all my lines of reasoning, feel free to read under the cut. Feel free to add more to the discussion!
Also, I used this article to pinpoint each character in their alignment, but I'll pick a few lines that best describes the alignment under the cut.
Lawful Good "They seek to eliminate evil, and are willing to forego their own comfort or safety to protect others."
Sho Yamato - Sho is the textbook definition of a superhero in terms of morale. He refuses to sit idly and is very much willing to go out his way to bring justice to every wrong he comes across. That's his very character.
Miss Yuki - Yuki, much like Sho, goes out of her way to help out. Even before she found out about Sho as the owner of an Idaten Bike, she was quick to assist them to make sure he doesn't caught in a bad place. This behavior is recurring, and her compassion extends to even to the likes of Gabu despite what the kid did.
Ayumu Yamato - Much like his brother, Ayumu is very willing to help out deal with situations. He's empathic, and is willing to take the extra mile to help or thank people (ex. meeting Kiku). He doesn't like to stand to the side, but is still an obedient kid considering how much he respects Sho and the "no riding" rule early into the Team X arc.
Neutral Good "Those under this alignment are willing to recognize unjust laws, and are open to bending the rules if it helps more people."
Kyoichi Shido - I initially put him under true neutral considering his behavior earlier on, but for the entire show it seemed more fitting that he'd be put in neutral good. He's a lot less willing to go out his way compared to Sho, but will step up and help someone out if need be. That doesn't mean he's all goody-two-shoes though, as he will go against the rules if it meant for the better good (ex. rescuing Takuma from the volcano eruption despite Idaten Battle rules stating no riders should interfere with a race). A more prominent example though is that he's more than willing to omit information and even say hurtful things to Sho and co. if it meant helping the team improve.
Kakeru Sakamaki - Kakeru wasn't given enough screen time by the show compared to Sho and Makoto, but given how he responds to situations he has a very strong sense of right and wrong. He's quick to call out Shark Tooth in episode 1 how the race's winning conditions were unfair and is even willing to compromise for the training grounds, but he doesn't have enough driving force to push through what he says.
Chaotic Good "They don't care much for rules or regulations, but a strong sense of right and wrong remains rooted in the hearts of Chaotic Good characters."
Makoto Shido - Girlypop is very willing to throw hands against every antagonist in the show. - But for real though, Makoto, much like Sho, is very willing to step up and deal against injustice, but unlike her friend who'd do it through races, Makoto is very much willing to forego those formalities to get the point across (throwing a metal basin against one of the rouge gang members in ep. 10, consequences be damned, and she even has a wrench ready for round 2). She's also very vocal about injustices towards her as a female, and although her fighting against is has a notion beyond herself. She's belittled constantly because of her gender (and Japan IRL is very patriarchal), but yet she proves time and time again that she's just as capable as the rest of them, and by extension proving that girls are equal to their male peers.
Lawful Neutral "Lawful Neutrals believe in organization. Many are devoted to law and order, believing that their nation or faction would collapse without it."
Arthur - Predictably as a knight, Arthur has a very rigid moral code. Although he could've fallen more in Chaotic Good during his disguised era, with his fake reckless/clumsy acts causing mayhem, my defense is that his people, his royalty were the ruling organization before Shark Tooth, hence he's only doing what he can to restore that rulership while he's by himself. The reason why he falls under neutral instead of good is because he's more rigid with his morales, hardly considering Gabu an ally while battling against Team X, unlike Yuki who has the patience to console Gabu despite it all. Another reason why I consider him more neutral is because of his response to Imperial Knights and possessed Kyoichi: he may mourn that they were possessed by the Dark Emblems, but he doesn't let that hinder him from accomplishing the responsibilities assigned to him.
True Neutral "...are often characterized as survivors, doing whatever they have to do in order to keep themselves or their loved ones alive and thriving."
Koei & Kiku - It makes sense that these siblings are more likely to look after each other first before anything, considering that they're financially struggling. Koei was a pickpocketer prior to being hired by Gabu, and even then he chose to work under Shark Tooth as a means to fund his sister's medical needs rather than going for an honest job. - Kiku could've been put in the Chaotic Neutral aspect, since she desperately yearns for her own freedom and disobeyed Koei and the hospital staff for it, but considering how quickly she was to try and protect Ayumu after she befriended him this alignment seemed to suit her better. She's quick to defend her loved ones on their behalf, going out of her way to defend Koei's honor not only to strangers but to Sho as well. However, maybe it's because she's physically ill but we've never seen her go out of her way to help out people she didn't know, so she fails to be in the Good alignments because of that.
Chaotic Neutral "...chaotic neutral characters value their freedom above all else." "Chaotic Neutrals are individualists first and last." (note: the initial candidates for this category was Yoko and Rika because it's so hard to find recurring characters under this alignment, but after watching through some eps I found the best candidate for it)
Hosuke - Since most of Hosuke's screen time is dedicated to his character as an amnesiac owl, this is how I based him. In a literal sense, episode 2 his introductory lines is literally begging for the group to free him, but overall as a character Hosuke tends to put his wants first, even so much as to throw the kids under the bus when he felt neglected in favor of women flaunting over him in episode 7 (side note: a character trait of his that I absolutely despised, and im thankful they toned it down much much later on in the show) and demanding more food from the Four Kings in episode 38 without regards of whether they had more or not. He his selfish yes, but what keeps him from being categorized under the evil alignments is that he wouldn't go out to cause unnecessary harm, and is willing to accept the consequences of his transgressions (sometimes). If something is not going his way, he will very much be vocal about it.
Lawful Evil "...are capable of vicious cruelty and plenty of illegal deeds — but they follow a strict internal code, and thus often believe they are doing what is right or honorable." - Putting it out now, "lawful" doesn't mean the laws of the land or ethics as a whole, but rather a character's capability of adhering to a set of rules. Tyrants, fanatics, and extremists are best examples of this alignment, but the reason why Gabu isn't on here will be explained later on
Taiga Samejima - Despite the examples given, I consider Taiga to be in this alignment is because of the definition of following a strict internal code. Yes, he's willing to put heinous henchmen out there to hinder the protagonists, or for the benefit of Shark Tooth, but still he believes in playing fair during Idaten Battles. Outside that though is a far different topic (in episode 11 he had no qualms about Captain Jackal deserting Sho and co. in an abandoned island, but scolded him and the crew for violating the rules of Idaten Battle). He followed and assisted Gabu without complaints, only trying to step in and interfere when he realized that his brother was going too far. Yes, he's capable of harm, and yes he will do it if need be, but only if it doesn't go against his own code.
Neutral Evil "They have goals to accomplish, and they're certainly not going to stand in their own way."
Gabu Samejima - It's like this alignment was meant for him. Gabu will do whatever it takes to become the strongest out there and hold the power for himself. What makes him different from Lawful Evil is that he doesn't care; if you're in his way, he will take you out. He has an eye for theatrics through intimidation, and gains satisfaction from it. He's self-serving and willing to blackmail and manipulate people to get what he wants, but he's meticulous about it as well. He's impulsive, sure, but he won't go out of his way to cause unnecessary collateral (and yes, during the Team X arc sabotaging plans and wanting to abandon the group multiple times was necessary collateral for him; he knew he couldn't get Imperial X by himself, despite what he says). He hardly holds remorse for his actions, since he could really care less about what the others think of him.
The Four Kings - As Gabu's loyal henchmen, they'll do whatever they needed in order to give Gabu the upper hand—moral code be damned (hence why they fall in this category and not in Lawful Evil). Although there are times they question Gabu, in the end they'll still bend their backs for him.
Chaotic Evil "These characters often take pride in causing suffering, and pursue destruction for its own sake."
Takeshi Yamato (possessed) - Takeshi himself is not an evil man, but under the possession of the dark energy he aims for nothing else but mass destruction. He's willing to not take down but to obliterate anyone for this cause, without any regards for anyone or anything (he let Sho fall hundreds of feet off the air for the sake of winning). Chaotic Evils are the most dangerous and destructive out of all the alignments, so it also stood to reason that the biggest threat of the show falls here.

Hii not sure if ur interested, but could I request Abul x reader x Abul’s family (platonic!) headcanons? Just the reader slowly creeping into their hearts and abul’s family slowly starting to accept them as part of the family? (nothing is more powerful than making ur boyfriend’s family love you more); imagine that, at one point, Alrick (grandpa) and celestia (mom) start protecting YN from others questioning abul’s relationship w/ them (if it's in a negative view)
Tumblr media
It's already sort of a well-known "secret" that Abul is very fond of his partner soooo...
Gender Neutral! Reader
~ Dari
Tumblr media
Platonic! Royal Dragon Family + Abul X Reader
Alrick is somewhat of an old fashioned, slightly pompous ass to most and held onto a lot of the views that he felt kept him safe...
but he still loved his son and so loved his grandson and he learned to also love the person, the human, that his grandson loves too
you sort of wore him down, holding that same fire and spirit that your own grandmother held
soft and gentle and bright, you reminded him so much of his loving son
Abul lowkey started getting suspicious when Alrick started having you do some "paperwork" with him and worries if he's just drinking insecurities in you or plotting to make you leave him
and essentially bursts in on one of these times to see that you were in fact helping with papers but also having tea and a chat, even seening Alrick full on belly laugh at one of your cheeky quips.
... struck dumb until you chirp for him to join you both, Alrick gives him the evil eye about it thoigh and gruffly tells Abul later not to interrupt his time bonding with his future in-law
Abul needs time to reboot after that but is very relieved to see that he's softened up
Alrick is terribly protective of you now, a looming force that simply bashes away any opinions of nobles because fuck them all, he's the strongest and will make them love you as much as he does
Celestia knew what you were to her son when she first saw how he looked at you and it just made her so happy to see him breaking tradition because he loved someone so much
she also already loved you after she figured out what type of person you were
... You did remind her a lot of her late husband, they weren't really in love but she still loved him as the father of their children and respected him as the good man he was
and OOH, you were just darling! such a cheerful and playful thing - she's gotten so sick of the uptight stiffs that you were someone she feels like she can let loose around
she lowkey pesters Abul about when he'll propose because she's been dying to plan a wedding
Kass, not long after meeting you and finding out you were her brother's partner, was over the moon
she was brimming with delight after finding out you were such a sweetheart, practically dragging you away from your chores or her brother to go and explore with her - much to Abul's chagrin
often cracks jokes about "how did someone like you end up with my oaf of a brother?"
she pouts when you defend him but quickly bounces back to pride that you loved him so much
Kass appoved of you the minute she figured out how deep your feelings were and just feels at ease around you
you don't judge her for anything and yes, that includes being a bit of a gossip - she loves spilling about the messy things surrounding the nobles
ya'll know she has the hottest tea around
she's also real amused you managed to get into Alrick's good graces too
Abul thought it couldn't get any weirder until he found out his stepbrother was making nice with you, it also annoys him a bit because he was such a prick but the minute you're in the room - he's just sooo nice
Bren and you were essentially already best buds after you both started working together, you were happy to show him the ropes and defend him if necessary
it strange for him to have someone to defend him so readily, so... he adores you and the both you play board games and read together
even after his royal attachment to the dragon family was revealed, you still treated him like the pair of you were friends all your lives
but now, you happily call him your brother
he felt welcome long before he was revealed to be related and he had you to thank for that

The door of that larger car would slide open, and a tranquilizer would be shot right at Sukuna's shoulder, making the man fall unconscious.
"The threat has been shot down."
Uttered a mysterious voice. And right in front of you, a well-armed man would come out, trying to arm lock you and pull you into the car. Another man would tie you up and put a tape on your mouth, tossing you to the back of the car. A larger man with glasses was looking forward, said glasses shining through the darkness.
"You will be okay.
Suddenly, you would feel a tranquilizer in your neck.
After a few hours, you would wake up in some sort of room, your hands chained, and the same man with large glasses standing in front of the door. Near the door was a large glass window, directly leading to the sight of Sukuna: bloodied and tied up to a chair. You couldn't remember a thing. But the moment you saw Sukuna all tied up, and hurt, you began crying, and you wanted to rush to his side, only to realize — you couldn't move.
"Hello there, Y/n. Worry not, your flesh remains untouched, and the monster has been contained. You are safe now."
"Sukuna!"
You screamed for him, worry and pain was visible in your tone as you just wanted to be near him. You hated seeing him like that. "What have you done?! Let us go now! He's not a monster you asshole!"
You kept on fidgeting with the chains and trying to pull your hands out of the grip. You wanted to kill this man for hurting Sukuna. And you wanted to be with Sukuna. You were scared the man wanted to kill him.
"Your view is biased thanks to the brainwashing he has caused in you. I worry for your wellbeing, and it sickens me to my stomach to even believe what he did to you."
You looked at the man like he was completely crazy. Sukuna didn't brainwash you. He saved your life, and he was good to you. Only good to you. He didn't deserve that.
"Please stop it! He didn't... Brainwash me... He... He saved my life"
The man shook his head, putting his hands in his pockets. He looked somewhat like a maniacal priest, but he was in fact a hunter. A skilled one. A man of law, one whose only goal was to keep humanity safe from monsters.
"You may be unaware, but Sukuna is the cause of countless atrocities. Forgive me for the chains, those were orders of an underling of mines. It was my mistake to keep him unsupervised. But granting how you are acting, I suppose it's best you remain chained."
The man turned to the glass, staring at the Sukuna that was very much hurt. "I am Giffard Gabriel- A Hunter and a Judge. And Sukuna's judgment is long due."
You weren't a liar. You would even admit how pathetic you were and how he just... Kept you around, and looked after you.
"He took me away from my camp... There were horrible old men there that always wanted to... Do horrible things to me... And... He took me away from that. He's been protecting me. Let him go"
You were... Begging him at this point. You wanted to be with him at least. "At least... Let me be with him"
Gabriel's very neutral tone began shifting. His eyebrows raised, like if his eyes under the shining glasses had widened. Slowly looking down, Gabriel took a deep breath, before uttering to himself. "Could a demon ever atone for his own sins...?"
Gabriel pulled out keys from his pockets, slowly approaching you without any evil intent. He unlocked the chains on your wrists, using his arms to hold you when you fell. He then let you get up, as he backed away and turned to face the door, opening it and heading to Sukuna, in the middle of the room.
"Men. Halt. This is a direct order from your leader. You are all prohibited from laying any more injuries on this man. Anyone that breaks this rule shall be personally executed by me."
A loud gasp coming from all the soldiers that were ready to fire at sukuna- but Gabriel was their leader. And they knew very well what would happen if they ignored those rules. So they simply backed away. Gabriel then got closer to Sukuna, and drew a cross with his own blood at his forehead. "In the name of God himself, I forgive you for your sins."
Sukuna knew better than to react to this- There were countless men ready to fire, and a blood-thirsty hunter there. Any wrong move would cause him to be dead. Gabriel pulled a long weapon, cutting down the ropes that tied Sukuna to the chair, and he then backed away.
Sukuna waited for Gabriel to leave the room so he finally got up from the chair, stumbling across the large room until he got to you — Where he attempted to hug you tightly, but only fell weak in your arms. "I'm... sorry…"
You immediately hugged him back tightly, you began crying your eyes out into him. He looked horrible and you were blaming yourself for it. And he was apologizing, he didn't need to. He did nothing wrong. You carefully pulled back from the hug, cupping his cheeks very gently.
"Please don't say sorry. Look at what they did to you"
You once again hugged him, you were however making sure to be extra gentle when you did so, before you carefully led him back to the chair so he could sit down.
"Don't move too much, but I'm here now" You sniffled as you tried to calm yourself down, as best as you could. You hated to see how the person you loved most being so... Hurt.
"Hey... stop..." Sukuna used the last of his strengths to push you away as you forced him on the chair. Sukuna shook his head and cleaned the blood from his mouth, before he just coughed up more blood.
"They're right. I'm a monster. I deserve all of this — And even more, because I dragged you into this."
He got up, like nothing had happened, and in a moment of anger, he simply broke down the chair with a single kick. He clenched his fists and began walking away, stopping after a few steps.
You shook your head, you didn't want him to do this. You needed him. Even though you flinched when he kicked the chair, you immediately went up to him. You were lost without him. You needed him, and you loved him.
"Don't do this to me. Don't. I need you Sukuna. Please don't leave me"
"Why do you want to stay at my side so much? A few hours ago, you looked like you hated me. It's safer if you stay that way. You saw what happens if you side with the monster." Sukuna scoffed. He didn't want to say that, he didn't mean to say that — He just wanted you to be safe. And nothing else.
"Look. ...I love you. But... you're risking yourself by just staying at my side. So the first right thing I'll ever do in my life is leave. I wish the best for you." Sukuna began walking, very slowly. He wanted to leave, but at the same time he didn't. His brain was... conflicted.
You went tense. Tense because he said... He loved you, but was quick to catch up to him walking away, and hugging him tightly from behind. But you made sure to avoid his wounds.
"Please don't. I love you too. I don't want you to leave me. I can't be alone again... Please" For the first time ever, you were genuinely begging someone to stay by your side.
Sukuna flinched when you hugged him. And in fact, a single tear fell from his eyes. He didn't want to leave you, but he didn't want to risk your safety either. So when you broke the hug, Sukuna quickly turned to face you and grabbed you by the legs and back — Holding you bridal-style, as he leaned forward and gave you a passionate kiss — a very long one. When he broke the kiss, he looked into your eyes. "Stay with me, okay?"
Completely ignoring his own injuries at that moment. He put you on the ground once again, and offered his hand for you to hold, walking through the room until you reached a large door — which slowly slid open for them, revealing their car out there. "Let's get out and go back. I need to rest."
A faint smile came to your face when he said he wanted you to stay. You immediately followed him when he put you down, making sure to have a firm grasp on his hand, like your life depended on it. When you got to the car, you ran to the driver's seat.
"I'm driving though" You insisted as you got in the car and started the car up. Before you started to drive, you wiped your tears away properly and took a deep breath.
"Not like I could drive anyways."
He said, heading himself to the backseat and lying there, completely tired and breathing heavily.
"Did you mean it?" You looked at him as you began driving, before looking back at the road ahead
"When you said you love me. Did you... Mean it?"
When you asked something, he didn't respond at first, since he didn't understand. But when you asked again, he coughed and answered properly. "More... than I ever meant... something in my... entire life."
Sukuna said, before coughing even more blood out. His injuries were pretty bad, but he would pull through. He smiled, sitting up and adjusting himself on the seat. "I wanted someone close... i didn't know I wanted a partner. Whaddya say?"
He was suddenly cut by another cough.
"Two lovers, ridin' free on our own rhythm... I never felt this before, so I can only assume it's love. Please, be at my side."
You smiled at his last statement, but it was a sad smile. Because you couldn't stay at his side even if you wanted to. You eyes were watering and there was a visible crack in your voice when you voiced the next words. "Yeah... I'll stay by your side as long as I'm alive"
"I won't let you die."
After another few minutes you stopped by his hideout, and as soon as the car stopped moving, you burst into tears, letting your forehead fall onto the steering wheel. "I'm sorry Sukuna." You felt the need to apologize for what you were about to tell him. But you hoped he would just... End up hating you.
Sukuna leaned closer, putting his hands on your shoulders as you stopped the car. He was somewhat worried about what you had to tell, so he tilted his head and lifted one of his eyebrows.
"Sorry for...? What happened?" Sukuna was confused and worried. After all he had gone through, he wondered what would be the next bad news.
You lifted your head to look at him, your eyes showed nothing but sadness. You knew you were gonna die, and he was probably gonna be so mad at you "Please don't freak out..."
You lifted your shirt slightly to show him a visible bite mark on your lower back, you immediately lowered your shirt, drying your tears. "Thank you... For everything"
A quiet chuckle escaped his lips as he saw the mark. But his expression was... one of almost panic. "That's... how it ends?"
Sukuna slowly walked out of the car, opening the storage on the back of said car and picking up a literal molotov, lighting it up and tossing it on the hideout, which began slowly burning.
"AFTER ALL I'VE BEEN THROUGH, I FINALLY FIND SOMEONE I WANT AT MY SIDE, AND SHE'S FATED TO DIE!?" Sukuna fell on his knees, laughing maniacally as he seemed to be crying. He was done with everything. Even after being forgiven, the one he wanted at his side would be gone. And gone for good. He slowly pulled a handgun from his pockets and pointed it at his head, but he let it fall. "Why didn't you tell me sooner...? WHY DID YOU LET ME LOVE YOU!?"
You got out of the car, your skin was already pale, you already looked like a corpse, and you had a fever that came straight from hell. You let tears run down your face, standing behind Sukuna. You were selfish. "I wanted to... Be loved... Before I die... I'm sorry. I know I was selfish"
You wiped your tears away again, trying to give him somewhat of a smile, like you wanted to show him that everything would be okay, but you knew it wasn't gonna be okay.
"Please can you... Stay by me... Until I die? I don't wanna be alone... I don't wanna stay... As one of those things. You need to put me down when I wake up again. It has to be you... Please" You were begging him. You didn't want to end up another lost soul roaming around. You wanted to be... Peaceful.
"You made me suffer... You made me go through worse than I already had faced..."
Sukuna punched the ground, actually creating a crack on it. But he slowly got up, watching as his hideout burned brighter and brighter. He turned to you, his watery, red eyes locking into yours.
"But I can't get myself to hate you..." Sukuna approached you and gave you a hug, digging his face on your neck and tightening his embrace as much as he could.
"I swore to be at your side until the end. Here I am." Sukuna broke the hug, only to kiss you passionately. His last kiss, his last goodbye. When the kiss was broken, he sat down on the ground, laying you on his lap. "I'm not gonna be alive enough to miss you. I can't get myself to live another day alone... not again."
You didn't cry anymore. Instead, you smiled at him, you didn't want him to die because of you. Your only wish would be to let him live. "Sukuna you can't die. You'll be fine. You're gonna live. Please just do that for me... Okay?"
You sat up slightly, only to lean against his chest, planting a kiss on his cheek. "Just stay alive please" You whispered to him, and you took one of his hands, holding onto it and resting your head again on his chest. Smiling again, just once more at him.
"I'm... Going to sleep now... Good night..."
You whispered to him and closed your eyes. You felt comfortable, peaceful. You looked peaceful too, like you had just... Fallen asleep. Your heart finally stopped beating, and your breath came to a halt, as you fell into long and eternal sleep.
Sukuna was strong not to cry over this. He held you in his arms, looking over your deceased body with nothing but anger and sadness. He was once again, alone. No one at his side, no one to love him, no one for him to love, and half of the survivors probably still hated him. He just wanted to die, at this point.
"Come back..." He pleaded. But he knew it was useless. Tears began running down his eyes as he left your body on the ground, getting up and grabbing a handgun. There were exactly... two bullets.
"I never thought I would do this..."
He pointed it steady at your head, ready to shoot the monster version of his lover. His heart ached every second he thought about having lost you. He had nothing else to live for. His hideout was burnt by himself, his lover was dead, and he would probably die of hunger, or because of his wounds.
"Wake up... let me get this done with…"
The whole night. You hadn't moved an inch the whole night. Dawn was starting to break, the sun shining on your translucent, pale skin. You looked beautiful, even when you were a corpse. You just looked like... A doll.
But you wouldn't be in that state for very long, as your fingers started to move, and a breathless gasp came from you.
And then your eyes opened.
They were now a blue kind of color, and the moment the undead you locked your eyes onto Sukuna, you growled, snarled and your arms lifted in an attempt to get to your very first meal. You were ... A monster.
Sukuna had a long while to think about his future without his lover. He was so burdened by this loss that he couldn't even sleep. So burdened that when you woke up as a monster, Sukuna missed the first shot. But he steadied his arm, focusing his sights and finally shot you in the head, as he fell to his knees. "I used all two bullets... what will be of m-"
Bang.
A loud shot coming from a sniper rifle, piercing Sukuna's head from the side, splattering blood on the ground and almost instantly killing the man. Whoever killed sukuna, planned this all along.
"Mahito, the man is dead. Definition of a corpse." A giggle as the assassin slid down the mountain, checking on both corpses to make sure... they were both dead.
"If the stupid priest won't do it, we will. Maybe leaving the girl to die back at the camp was a nice idea to begin with."
The man began laughing maniacally and loudly, as he gave a kick to your deceased body and pulled a shotgun- shooting your head open before doing the same with Sukuna. "Now let Romeo and Juliet rest- and rot as corpses."

sorry guys listening to uzi's song werewolf had me hella edgy writing this so heres some y/n anti-hero lore angst

summary: In the eve of 2050, Spider-Woman is New York’s vigilante trying to maintain order in a revolting society, soon to collapse. The only reason to keep going is the hope for change, as the darkest hour is just before the dawn, but an unexpected turn of events will result in more than just New York to watch over.
(Contains some elements and references I gathered off other pieces of media to inspire the universe and, vaguely, the character.)
word count: 1.9k
Chapter 5
-I never called myself a hero, I'm no hero.
-To be a hero one needs to have a degree of possitive selflessness and devotion to philanthropist motives that I frankly do not have. Most heroes have something or someone that they love pushing them to become the good they are, a greater motive that is the reason for their zeal to their role.
-But my sacrifices don't come from a place of love, I'm taking the subject of saving New York into my hands because no one else will.
-Some are also heroes because their passion for their cause stems from a place of loss. I've lost a lot, but I can only lose so much before I lose myself. It's only once I had nothing that I could become who I became, when I can finally say that I don't care what happens to me.
-But despite this, I don't like being Spider-Woman, I have to be Spider-Woman.
-Collapse of structure (or what's left of it) is eventually coming, and I only continue to try to use my aches as drive, to push myself.
-There's no one out there to care about me, I come home to nothing, being Spider-Woman brings me no gratification, I get nothing from what I do, I simply have to and I've learnt to be okay with it.
-There is nothing great or admirable about what I do simply because I get nothing from it. It's just a good chore, an ocasional channel to my rage and suffering, vengeance for those who suffered in the hands of evil.
-I don't even use my powers ethically according to most, but that is merely a subject of morals and what my personal standpoint is on the law of retaliation.
-My presence is not praised, it is feared, as I do what I have to do and no more, the connotation of good and bad to my work varies greatly depending on who sees it.
-I respond to a need for change, not a need for the image of change. What I do good for and it's effects on our society are entirely apart and unrelated, that's the only thing that makes me different.
The mask had signified a lot of change, and had done a number on her character and self-image. To have to compose herself as an intimidating and mysterious figure while wearing the mask made her immensely prone to implement this hostile demeanor in her usual self, which only made her feel like she was becoming a bad person. She wasn't proud of who she was when she wore the mask, so for her conducts to filter into her personality entirely made her fear for the integrity of her values as an individual, not Spider-Woman. She often felt she and Spider-Woman were two different people, and although she tried to keep her identity crisis bottled from interfering with her greater motives, it often crawled on her back to remind her that she was no good, and if she was doing no good there was no worth in wearing the mask. Spider-Woman was intimidating, violent and vindictive, herself on the other hand tried to offer quiet kindness and a passive sense of approachability through small details, like the way she spoke and stood. The only thing she and Spider-Woman had in common was that they agreed that dying without having at least tried to salvage New York from the lurking mayhem was unacceptable. Spider-Woman had to do good because that's the only way it could turn out to her, it never occured to her that she could be evil, or neutral. She allowed room for her moral greyness in her merciless operations, but being an anti-hero was the furthest she could go. Neither her or Spider-Woman cared for what happened to them either, which allowed them to turn into who they did, and fear for nothing or no one ahead of them. She could only fear for those who still feared, for those who still had things they could lose and cause them suffering, and it was only for those that she had chosen to turn into an ambulant protector. One thing she knew for sure is that she was no Aunt May's Peter Parker, she was no friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, she wasn't New York's 'Spidey'. To them she was just Spider-Woman, or an entitled vigilante that interfered with police operations, or a weirdo under the mask that liked to justify her violence as long as it was inflicted on bad people, and ocasionally a savior. For herself she was none, but it didn't matter, her work served the purpose of watching over New York, and as long as she continued to do so, everything else could be under control.
Joining the Spider-Society served exclusively to her only purpose. There were more threats to the wellbeing of a single city than she could have ever imagined, and she tried to mask how much she feared through cracking jokes and opening up to making new friends. A huge part of her realistically told herself that if she died trying it would be fine, but deeper inside she felt the need to succeed, and not just try. For this she stayed up in one of her many sleepless nights further perfecting her suit, and trying to use her new gizmo as a link to code her AI to an elemental degree of interdimensional responsiveness. Her bloodshot eyes fidgetted around the different screens devoting her absolute focus as her fingers ached from the prolongued tension of nonstop typing, only ready to surrender her attention to answer Miguel's call. While she didn't exactly like being Spider-Woman, there was nothing like the elation of tending for duties against supervillanous deeds. The appearance of Spot had brought a new spine-chilling threat to her city, but also a new source of adrenaline rushes and thrill at the idea of genuine battle. She wanted to go back to Spider-Society so badly it even embarrassed her. Not in so long had she yearned with such intensity for someone else's approval, and it only stemmed from her need to be of Miguel's liking to be able to take the subject of Spot into her own hands as much as she could. She didn't mind friends, but she was an awful teammate, one of those who does everything on their own in spite of others, a control freak. Miguel was the obstacle she needed to befriend, and she couldn't wait to prove him how worthy she was of being on his good side. She liked to remember as she smiled what he had said about her, knowing that it was only a matter of time before she made her way into his trust. On the other hand, her new friends from other dimensions had awoken in her a curiosity especially rooted on the strangeness of their relationship. Having interdimensional friends was a thing close to 2049's future, but it would take another good decade that would only prolongue itself if the conditions of society continued to deplete, and she had already made her own before it was even a thing for her universe. She was anxiously hoping for her watch to beep alerting her of an 'anomaly to handle' in another universe, and for her to succesfully impress Miguel.
"It's nice to see you around again." A familiar voice greeted her from behind, making her turn her head over her shoulder, mustering a smile as she gazed from the corner of her eye. "Hey Hobie." She turned her body to greet her new friend, strangely gazing at the hand he held out to her. "I'm just saying hi..." He stated confused as he frowned, her puzzled reaction to his greeting coming as a shocker. "My bad, we don't do handshakes in my dimension, illness transmition, I'm getting used to it here." She smiled warmly before holding his hand for a second in a strange awkwardness. Hobie caught lead of her way as he walked in his usual relaxed pace, hands on his pockets and slightly hunched, looking down at his companion. "So, how are you taking the whole Spider-Society thing? Hard to digest ay'?" She huffed as she scratched the back of her neck. "It's kind of strange, this whole society thing and Miguel, it's all a bit creepy." Hobie laughed under his breath before looking away from her. "Feels kinda' like a cult, freaky huh? Miguel... you get used to him. Not me, but you know, most of us." She laughed slightly at Hobie's comment, her fingers contorting unable to place themselves. All her limbs fidgeted anxiously, her sharp nails piercing her palms every time she clenched her fists and scratching her thumbs everytime she picked up on the tic. "So 'where you headed?" Hobie interrupted the silence as he stopped on his track, his inexpressive features sitting perfectly on his skin which barely showed any signs of allergies or scars from rashes. Seeing the other Spider-People often reminded her of how chaotic her dimension was, where having clear skin was a result of privileged access to filtered air in housing. She brushed off her analysis to stop herself from staring so bluntly. "Headquarters, Miguel needs me on my first mission, but I need to learn how to properly work my gizmo first." She actually had already learnt how to use it on her own, back at her dimension, gathering a lot of interesting information on it's capacities with the help of her AI, which she carefully stored in her database under a new column she had especially designated to her interdimensional travelling. Being taught to do something you already know how to do is a good chance to show off her intelligence, and would earn her points she knew needed. "Sounds boring, I'll see you around then." Hobie disappeared into the crowd as they parted separate ways, herself making her way to Sector 4.
"You're on time, good. Lyla, let's get working." Miguel's usual bitter greeting only fed further into her desire to conquer his praise. By that time she had already gathered he was a man of proud character and unlikely to be very vocal on his appreciation, but to be considered for any missions regarding the Spot was more than enough, whatever he had to say that wasn't strictly about Spot meant nothing to her anyway. Her hair curled around her fingers as she walked into his realm, as charming as she could get. His functional AI, which strangely enough had a name and a coded personality, explained carefully the functions of her gizmo, but she was paying little to no attention to it. Her disdain to artificial technology's replacement of human connections was something she tended to keep to herself, given the touchiness of the subject in her dimension. She had made the moral decision of owning no technology that didn't serve strictly to the purpose of alleviating her tasks, making no bonds with her services. But Lyla seemed to be no artificial girlfriend of Miguel's, but rather simply his AI. Almost babying her, Lyla would passionately go into detail about all the things she had already meticulously analysed and took note of the previous day, to which she would ocasionally cut off in an arrogant demeanor to indicate that she already knew all of it. "Lyla seems to be done getting you through the basics." Another Spider-Woman who had earlier been introduced as Jessica, and her likely mentor throughout her learning process, gestured with her head towards the newly opened portal with a side grin, where Miguel had already jumped into without waiting for them.
i so promise i’ll stir something more interesting with more of miguel and yn for the next chapter pls trust the process 🗣️

Your OCs are in a D&D campaign! What race, class, and alignment are they playing as?
Oooooh I love this!! Thank you!!
(Also to make things more interesting I'm going with all currently-available races and classes)
Rae: Human wizard, true neutral - prefers a simpler setup that then allows her to adapt her character more in the campaign itself.
Robin: Half-elf bard, neutral good - fun, music-themed character to play with her buddies at the X-Mansion
Madison: Grippli assassin, chaotic neutral - she was told the grippli were water-themed and didn't realize that meant frogs rather than fish, and wanted to play an assassin
Ophelia: Maeluth warlock, lawful evil - has played the game a LOT throughout her life, at this point she's just trying to create some fun, interesting characters
Gia: Forest gnome druid, lawful good - Kate's suggestion, creating a character that was a lot like her to ease her into the game
Jasper: Dwarven fighter, lawful good - has played the game a bit, is starting to branch out into deeper lore and backstory for their characters.
Kestrel: Fey gnome ranger, chaotic good - first time playing the game, tried to build a character as similar to themself irl as they could
Katherine: Half-elf cleric, neutral good - uses this as an excuse to use her knowledge of Egyptian mythology to get her character out of tricky situations
Quinn: Tiefling rogue, true neutral - wants to cause chaos, but not enough to break the game
Eris: EITHER a dragonborn barbarian, chaotic evil (what Rick chose for them, knowing they'd have fun with it) OR a half-orc fighter, chaotic neutral (what they picked at random, just based on what sounded cool to them)
Nikoletta: Drow sorceror, neutral evil - is that a reflection of how she subconsciously sees herself after STAR Labs? Maybe.
Jimmy: Halfling druid, neutral good - chosen because it felt very classic-fantasy, like a Tolkien character
Vivienne: Half-elf bard, lawful evil - just seemed like a fun, siren-y character to play
Spider: Human bard, true neutral - this started as a bet between him and a few of his film buddies, to start with the most boring or "useless" character and see how long he can survive. It basically turns into Jaskier/Dandelion from the Witcher after a while.

CAS video (x)

Trivia
Dahlia prefers her full name. The nicknames come from her younger sisters, much to her chagrin.
Dahlia is 3 years older than Dee; Dee is 6 years older than Dess.
Dee and Dess are students at the Magic School; Dahlia is a mentor. Dee is on track to graduate very soon.
Dee is chaotic good; Dess is lawful good; Dahlia is neutral evil, but she puts up a good front.
Each sister wears a red crystal at all times (Dahlia, necklace; Dee, arm cuff; Dess, rosary). They are both a family symbol and a source of protection

total drama x town of salem 2
honestly im surprised i havent done this sooner ?? considering that one alejandro, heather, and noah coven fanart is the reason i got interested in total drama
ANYWAYS ! i thought it would be super fun to make a match with every gen 1 total drama contestant :3 (town might be a little overpowered but whatever ! i didnt feel like going over the 4 coven limit)
TOWN
COURTNEY - SEER
i think seer (town investigative in general) is a good fit for courtney because they often lead town and courtney is well yk,, courtney
SIERRA - TRACKER
i was tempted to make sierra spy but i ended up liking tracker more . i think this one is pretty self explanatory
BETH - RETRIBUTIONIST
i didnt have many ideas for beth besides making her either town support or coven . beth should get to raise the dead, as a treat
BLAINLEY - CORONER
giving blainley coroner just so she can fakeclaim tpow is too funny for me to pass up
OWEN - TRAPPER
based on the hunting owen talked about during island + i love trapper
TYLER - BODYGUARD
boy loser gets to have the most failure town protect role
DUNCAN - JAILOR
its too funny of an opportunity to pass up
EVA - VETERAN
honestly she could be any town killing but vet can kill multiple visitors which made me choose it
LINDSAY - MARSHAL
marshal is the army equivalent of an admiral :3 also useless town powers (as infuriating as they are) are hilarious in concept
GEOFF - SOCIALITE
party time !
EZEKIEL - AMNESIAC
zeke doesnt really have much going for him in canon so having him as amnesiac feels fitting
NEUTRALS
NOAH - DOOMSAYER
finally giving noah chance to be clever and sneaky,, sussing out which roles belong to who
IZZY - PIRATE
i cant get the idea of izzy openly claiming pirate then like,, pirating a ti out of my head . girly gets to cause mayhem and i love her for it
SADIE & KATIE - JESTER
i had to give them the same role its the law . a jester duo working together to get each other lynched is so silly
BRIDGETTE - ARSONIST
bridgette is a surfer girl so the obvious choice is to let her set things on fire
ALEJANDRO - SHROUD
alejandro should be an evil considering canon, and shroud is a more complicated neutral killing compared to sk
COVEN
CODY - CONJURER
i honestly just placed cody here because i love his dynamic with heather and i want them to be evil siblings
HEATHER - COVEN LEADER
this is the obvious choice for heather . let her kill
JUSTIN - MEDUSA
medusa is perfect for justin considering people love to look at him
TRENT - WILDLING
i dont have much reasoning for this one ... i just liked the idea
APOCALYPSE
LESHAWNA - BERSERKER
shes not afraid to beat people up in canon and shes not afraid here
GWEN - PLAGUEBEARER
gwens color palette reminds me of diseases,,, thats it
DJ - BAKER
self explanatory
HAROLD - SOUL COLLECTOR
harold having a menacing role like soul collector but being extremely pathetic is wonderful to me + he would get to have matching visits with leshawna
there we go ! thats all of them :3 i probably could swap some of them to make the roles fit better but im satisfied for now
