Chaos Theory was fantastic, genuinely one of my favorite additions to the Jurassic Franchise in a while!! I’m looking forward to season 2 a lot. Massive applause to all of those who worked on the show, it came together beautifully.

Here’s a comic titled “Two Sides of the Same Coin” that I threw together after finishing the show. (major spoilers ahead, like seriously, MAJOR spoilers)

I’ve noticed that Ben and Brooklynn are mirrors to each other in Chaos Theory. They parallel each other in ways that are easy to miss if you don’t think too hard on it

Brooklynn is everything Ben could’ve become if he hadn’t been grounded by Darius in the initial stages of his paranoia. Ben is everything Brooklynn could’ve become had she not been too occupied with theories to notice she was getting to the point of being too far gone. They had a wonderful friendship before Brooklynn’s “death” and I’m intrigued to see where the show-runners take it when Brooklynn and Ben inevitably reunite.

I love this shot and interaction so much. The way Carmy's directly under the warm orange light making it look like he's glowing with heat. In this scene you only see Carmy under this light when Syd's praising his drawings and for this dialogue, (basically when he's feeling Syd's heat/their combined heat) directly after this he moves out of the warm light, reveals decisions he made without her and starts talking about Claire so the atmosphere between them changes. He's in much lower lighting (no light above him) for the rest of the scene but Syd stays under/nearby the warm glowing light. All this fire/heat symbolism is during the fire suppression episode btw!

They're talking about food which is basically their foreplay. You can see in his face he's already a bit turned on and he's only just started talking food with her! The way he's looking at her and speaking very pointedly...idk how to explain it but it's so seductive.

The way he licks his lips and says "and then-" but then fully closes his mouth because he doesn't intend to finish that sentence, he's waiting for Syd to do it because he knows she will. I love that they just get each other when it comes to this stuff and they both know it and trust that connection.

I can't make out if his eyes land on her t-shirt first or her lips, it looks too low to be her lips imo and the t-shirt she had on in this scene has artwork of a beautiful black woman on it with bright red lips. I can imagine it's hard for him to look at that shirt without thinking of how much he wants to kiss Sydney!

The way Syd's face lights up talking to Carmy about food is everything. She lowkey looks sensual here but in an unassuming way like she's not trying to be, she just naturally is.

Carmy knows talking about food brings this out in Syd, that's why he asked if she still loves to cook in the table scene (it was kind of a random segue) then he asked for details about the omelette and knew exactly what to say and how to say it to encourage her to keep dirty talking about food with him 😏

I love how no matter what's going on between them, how distant they were the few episodes before this, this connection between them will always have them on the same page again instantly. It's like when you haven't seen someone for a long time but whenever you meet again it's like you were never apart. That's what this interaction (and the food dirty talk in the table scene) gives me, no matter how far apart they get this will always be something that connects them instantly and effortlessly.
