#i've seen it happen multiple times to small artists in this fandom#it's not even a comparison to an artist as a compliment#it's erasure of og artist intent and equating something they put their heart into as just an iteration of a more well-known artist's idea#they never address the art too they go directly to tagging the more popular artists and make it all about the popular artist#it's insulting. it's defining someone's creativity purely by an unrelated person's work. often unsolicited.#like cmon#also i'm pretty sure most popular artists Do Not Like this comparison at all so please just stop

listen to me. when I describe something as 'autistic' I do not mean it is stupid. I mean that it's whimsical and creative and interesting and just gets me and it is chaos in the best possible way. And this confuses people who don't know me and assume I'm being ableist when I say 'this story is autistic' no I mean that half the characters are autism-coded and it makes me feel joy and whimsy and I see myself represented in it. It has layers full of secrets that would reveal themselves if you dig a little deeper and have some patience, it is weird and queer and flawed and unique and diverse and sees the world in a new way. something being autistic is always a very specific compliment coming from me and this is why.

think of any random person. I know this is dependent on context, but I don't want everyone to be hitting "else" just because if they're really nice they'd be okay with it. If any typical person you were chatting with called you "love", how would you react?
