SUMMARY: Where Matt uses his loss on the egg challenge as an excuse to reveal Y/N's pregnancy to his brothers.
WARNING: Pregnancy, crying.
REQUESTED?: Yes, by anon.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: That is my work, I DON'T authorize any plagiarism, copy, or "inspiration"! | English isn't my first language, so I'm sorry if there's any grammar error.
A/N²: I've decided to post it today since it's Father's Day on Brazil! Unfortunately, I had to write it in a rush, so I'm sorry if it's not that good ;(
   ༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
Matt, Nick, and Chris had spent the morning engaged in their latest YouTube challenge; a seemingly simple task of caring for an egg as if it were their own child. What had started as a lighthearted competition quickly turned into something more meaningful, though none of them knew it yet.
Nick leaned back in his chair, his arms folded behind his head, exuding confidence as he glanced at the table. His egg sat intact in front of him, a proud reminder of his victory. He smirked at Matt, who sat across from him, his egg conspicuously absent, the pieces of it having already been swept into the trash.
"Well, Matt, it looks like you lost." Nick teased, his voice dripping with mock sympathy. His grin widened, knowing exactly how to get under his brother's skin.
Chris, sitting at the other end of the table, tried to suppress his laughter but failed, the sound escaping as a snort. He leaned forward, resting his chin in his hand, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Seriously, dude, how did you even have the courage to throw your egg after knowing that it was already cracked?"
But instead of a witty comeback or a defensive retort, Matt remained silent. His usually quick tongue was stilled, and his shoulders slumped slightly as he stared at the table in front of him. His brothers’ laughter echoed around the kitchen, but Matt seemed miles away.
From her spot by the kitchen counter, Y/N observed the scene unfold, her smile soft and her eyes filled with affection as she watched the brothers banter. She had always loved these moments, the way they could turn the simplest tasks into something fun and full of life. But today, something was different. Matt wasn’t joining in the laughter, and the silence coming from him made her heart tighten with concern.
Matt’s eyes met Y/N’s across the room, and for a brief moment, everything else faded away. Her smile faltered, replaced by a look of curiosity and worry as she noticed the unspoken emotion in his gaze. It wasn’t defeat or frustration over the challenge; it was something deeper, something that made her heart skip a beat. What was he thinking? What was he hiding?
Nick’s voice cut through the tension, snapping Matt out of his thoughts.
"Come on, Matt, admit it. You’re just not cut out for fatherhood." Nick joked, his tone light but teasing.
Chris chimed in, leaning back in his chair with a playful grin.
"Yeah, maybe it’s a good thing you’re not a dad yet."
The words, meant in jest, struck Matt like a physical blow. He inhaled sharply, his gaze flickering to Y/N once more, and this time, her eyes widened in realization. Her hand instinctively moved to her stomach, a small, unconscious gesture that Matt had seen her do countless times since they discovered the news. It was a habit she had developed; whenever she felt nervous, excited, or overwhelmed, her hand would rest there, a protective touch that spoke of the new life growing inside her.
Matt took a deep breath, turning his gaze back to his brothers.
"My egg 'broke,' so technically, I lost-" Matt began, his voice quiet, almost detached as he tried to find the right words.
Nick interrupted him, raising an eyebrow in confusion as he imitated Matt’s air quotes.
"'Broke'? Motherfucker, it broke." His voice was full of bewilderment, unsure of why Matt was choosing to word it that way.
But Matt wasn’t paying attention to Nick’s teasing anymore. He pushed back his chair and stood up, the scraping of the legs against the floor breaking the comfortable rhythm of the morning. All eyes were on him as he walked over to the counter, where Y/N stood, her breath caught in her throat as she looked up at him. He leaned against the counter, positioning himself next to her, his hand brushing against hers in a silent exchange of comfort and support.
Nick and Chris exchanged puzzled glances, the playful atmosphere from moments ago now replaced with a sense of anticipation. Matt was rarely this serious, especially during their videos, and the change in his demeanor left them both on edge.
"What’s going on, Matt?" Chris asked, his voice steady but laced with curiosity, his arms crossing over his chest as he studied his brother.
Matt took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment pressing down on him. He and Y/N had talked about how to break the news to Nick and Chris for days. They had planned it out, imagined different scenarios, and rehearsed how it might go. But now, standing here in the kitchen with the camera still rolling, Matt realized that all those plans didn’t matter. There was no perfect way to tell them; there was only the truth.
"I didn’t lose." Matt said, his voice stronger now, filled with emotion that he could no longer hide. He took a step closer to Y/N, his hand finding hers and squeezing it gently. His eyes never left his brothers as he spoke. "My baby is safe and sound... right in the oven."
The words hung in the air for a moment, the meaning not immediately sinking in for Nick and Chris. They blinked, their expressions mirroring each other’s confusion as they tried to make sense of what Matt had just said.
"The oven?" Nick repeated, glancing around the kitchen. "What the fuck are you talking about?"
Chris frowned, his gaze following Nick’s to the actual oven, which was clearly off.
"Matt, what are you-"
But before Chris could finish, Matt shook his head and smiled softly, a smile that held all the love and anticipation he had been carrying for weeks. He gently guided Y/N’s hand to her stomach, the gesture so tender and full of meaning that it spoke louder than any words ever could.
"The oven," Matt repeated, his voice a whisper now, thick with emotion. "Right here."
It was as if time stopped. Nick and Chris froze, their eyes widening in sync as the realization finally hit them. The weight of Matt’s words, the significance of the gesture; it all came crashing down on them at once.
"Wait... are you saying...?" Nick’s voice trailed off, the disbelief evident in every syllable.
Y/N looked up at Matt, her eyes shining with tears that she had been holding back for days. She nodded, her voice trembling with joy and nerves as she finally let the words out, the truth she had been dying to share.
"We’re pregnant." She whispered, her voice breaking with emotion. "I’m pregnant."
For a heartbeat, the kitchen was silent. The camera continued to record, capturing every second of the moment that would change their lives forever.
And then, all at once, the emotions erupted.
Chris was the first to react. His eyes filled with tears that spilled over the rims, his face a mix of shock, joy, and overwhelming love. He stood up so abruptly that his chair almost fell, forgotten as he crossed the room in two long strides. Without a word, he pulled Matt and Y/N into a tight embrace, his arms encircling them both as he buried his face in Matt’s shoulder, his body trembling with sobs.
"Oh my God." Chris whispered, his voice cracking with the force of his emotions. "I can’t believe it. You’re going to be a dad, Matt. And Y/N... you’re going to be a mom."
Y/N found herself laughing through her own tears, the sound mixing with her soft sobs as she wrapped her arms around Chris, resting her head against his. She could feel Matt’s warm hand on her back, holding her close, grounding her in the moment.
"We were going to tell you guys differently, but..." Y/N’s voice faltered, the words catching in her throat as she tried to speak. Her lip quivered as she bit down on it, trying to hold back the fresh wave of tears that threatened to spill over.
Nick, who had been frozen in shock, finally seemed to snap out of it. He looked at Matt, then at Y/N, and back to Matt again, as if needing to confirm that this was real. His eyes were wide, his jaw slack, but then, slowly, a wide, joyous grin spread across his face.
"Holy shit!" Nick exclaimed, his voice full of excitement as he jumped up from his chair, his movements so sudden that it clattered to the floor. He didn’t care. All he could focus on was the fact that his brother was going to be a father. That they were going to be uncles.
Nick rushed over to join the group hug, wrapping his arms around the three of them and squeezing as hard as he could, his voice cracking with the intensity of his emotions.
"This is insane! I can’t believe we’re going to be uncles. Oh my God, Chris, we’re going to be uncles!"
Chris pulled back just enough to look at Nick, their faces mirroring the same shock and joy.
"Yes, you are." Y/N whispered, her voice filled with warmth and love. "You and Chris are going to be the best uncles in the world."
Matt couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. He let them fall freely as he wrapped his arms around his brothers, holding them tight, feeling a surge of love and gratitude that left him breathless. This wasn’t the way they had planned it, but it felt right. It felt perfect. He could feel Chris’s shoulders shaking as he cried, and when he finally pulled back to look at his brothers, he saw the same tears in Nick’s eyes.
Chris wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, a huge, teary grin spreading across his face.
"You sneaky bastards." He said, his voice still thick with his crying. "You kept this from us!"
"We wanted to surprise you." Matt said, finally finding her voice again, though it was still shaky with laughter and tears. "But I just couldn’t wait."
Nick looked at him, his grin turning mischievous.
"So, technically, you didn’t lose the challenge, huh?"
Matt chuckled, shrugging as he looked at the Y/N glued to his side.
"Nope, I didn’t lose. I think I actually won something even better."
Chris wiped at his eyes again, sniffling as he looked at Y/N, his expression soft and full of love.
"You two are going to be amazing parents. This little one is so lucky to have you."
Y/N reached out and took Chris’s hand, squeezing it tightly as she smiled through her tears.
"Thank you, Chris. That means the world to us."
Nick clapped his hands together, the grin never leaving his face.
"Well, I guess this calls for a celebration, huh? Let’s order some food and make this the best day ever."
They all agreed, the room filling with the sound of their joy, and as they gathered around the kitchen table, Matt couldn’t help but feel like the luckiest man in the world.
He looked at Y/N, who was beaming at him, her eyes still sparkling with tears, and ge couldn’t help but think that this was the best video they’d ever made; not because of the challenge, but because it captured a moment that would change their lives forever.

paddockclubb y'all wondering if the drivers have heard the song when i'm out here questioning reality cos CHARLES LECLERC HAS LIKED THIS POST.
it was the end of season lunch and you were kind of nervous as you would finally be telling your parents about charles and you. your friends were thrilled but you just didn't know how your father would react.
the heavenly creatures and godly people had given you a blessing. BECAUSE NO WAY IN HELL YOUR FATHER KNEW ABOUT IT ALL ALONG?
"you aren't letting him in on any red bull secrets now, are you?" your father questioned you. and you replied right back, with mock seriousness. "you mean have i told him how max cuddles his cats and how checo never stops talking about mexican food? yes dad i've kept that a secret." your boyfriend lets out a chuckle as you finish your sentence, squeezing your thigh below the table.
"aww maxie you're a softie at heart" lando teases him as max glares at you playfully. the brunch was a success and you just couldn't wait to get back to the hotel with charles because, oh dear lord. he looked absolutely ravishing. divine. sublime even. and he knew what was on your mind, the way his hands kept brushing yours, his soft kisses when no one was looking. you felt it all.

it was the big day. your single was about to drop today and your boyfriend was lying down on your lap, telling you how he would LOVE to tell the world that the song was about him. you agreed, it was about him. he slowly got up and wrapped his arms around your waist, letting his hands slip under your shirt.
"aren't we getting cheeky now, mr leclerc?" you teased. "oh we are just getting started, baby" he mumbles as he kisses down your neck. and just like that, he made your big day much more special by his, let's say, needy touches.

━━━━━━☆━━━━━━━━━━━━☆━━━
The waves of the beach were calming, you could already see the sun rise and its orange colours appear in the middle of the whitish sky. You did this a few times, when life disappointed you and you had to put up with it; you looked at your cell phone and the time marked '5:55', you laughed remembering the signs about looking at the “angel’s numbers”.
You get up, walking to your house that was not far away and try to enter without making noise, going up to your room and sinking into your bed to sleep a few hours before college.
━━━━━━☆━━━━━━━━━━━━☆━━━━
You met him in a bar, he bought you a drink and you talked. On the dance floor he glued his body to yours and danced until you accepted the invitation to go to his house.
Now you're getting into his fancy and stuck car, and he's taking you home.
His icy hands came into contact with yours hot thigh, a junction of ice and fire, you felt anxious not only to be going to the house of a guy you met an hour ago, but also to the fact that your hand seems to rise more and more. You wanted to, but you wouldn't say, he also wanted and wouldn't say so he decides to start his game, you confess to yourself that choosing a skirt was a good choice, easy access and no winding. But no, he liked to get the most out of you, instigate you until you were begging him to stop, you didn't ask his age but assumed that he was over 20 years old. You laugh to yourself because you're going to fuck an older guy.
"Sorry to ask... how old are you?" You say it in such a soft voice that it makes it squeeze in the car seat.
"Thirty-two... why the question? Don't you like older guys?" He says, sarcastic with his elbow resting on the car door.
10 years. 10 years of difference between you, that's not bad, right?
"I like it, I love learning new things with experienced people."
He smiles on his side, lightly squeezing your thigh and slowly sneaking into your wet core. You sigh strongly, you are sure he heard and must be smiling while you close your eyes strongly the hand that was on your thighs disappears.
"Do you mind?" He says with a cigarette in his hand and a dark look.
You do it with no with your head and hear the noise of the lighter and the smell of the cigarette inhaling your nostrils. While he puts the hand that was the cigarette back on the steering wheel and touches its your core again, it is light and dirty his touches make you want more, want more from him and his body, he was driving you crazy.
You hold the door when he presses his fingers there, you let out a needy sigh and he smiles, you see that he stops the car and can see the dark house with lights that were mostly yellow he gets out of the car like a real rider opens the door for you and holds your hand to get out of the car.
"Welcome, princess." He speaks seriously as he walks with you to the entrance and throws the end of the cigarette in a nearby trash can.
His hands quickly go to your body when you enter his house, the begging and needy lips were filled with kisses with a taste of drink and cigarettes. His beard gently passed through your skin, and gave you shiver more and more as you went up to his room, his eyes did not leave your body, your skin, your curves and your ass.
You smile when he takes you in his lap and gently puts you on the bed, climbing on top of you and occasionally pressing your erection on your dressed pussy, involuntarily your hips push themselves up looking for more and you hear his low laugh.
"In a hurry, Cariño?" He asks, not taking his lips off your neck. "We have all the time in the world."
Carlos can't help it. He loses control, and passes the kisses to your lips again, and then to your still covered breasts. He's really attenuated by you. Your body is hot, and it looked like it was going to explode like a volcano.
━━━━━━☆━━━━━━━━━━━━☆━━━━
He grabbed your neck as if it were fucking nothing for him and saw you widen your eyes even more, your fingers looking for some way to undo that touch that took his breath away. After all, everything was still very young.
"You want to act like a whore as if you know what you're doing... But you don't know, my love, you don't know nothing." - Smiling with mockery he whispered against his little mouth and then went to attack his reddish and swollen lips from so many bites.
You moaned tearfully squeezing yours legs even more against the larger body, feeling the man suck your lip in a hungry and hot way; he was hot. Carlos kissed you as if life depended on that and feeling your mouth trying to accompany him left him on the edge of the abyss. If you were the prize at the end of the abyss he would certainly play headlong. Carlos grunted hoarsely as he sucked your tongue, feeling your taste mixed with the cherry of the gloss and it was to lose the reins, he could not be judged. The man then raised his hands around your waist to yours breasts again, squeezing the small mounds covered by the fabric.
His reaction was to grung soft in the middle of the kiss and squeeze his fingers in Carlos' straight and hydrated hair. You begged for everything that was more sacred that throbbing sensation between his legs would relieve the fastest. Carlos then left your lips with a slight suck on your bottom, listening to yours sly grunt and aiming at your eyes shining together with his pink cheeks.
"Take off these clothes for me, take them off... - He whispered hoarsely, breathing heavily as yours squeezed from your feet covered by your socks to yours thighs.
Promptly you obeyed, with those huge bright eyes so reduced before that man between your legs. You took off your clothes burning in horniness and shyness, he already felt Carlos' property and this feeling was indescribably delicious. You exposed yours sumped tits to him and saw him almost salivate, and like a wolf he advanced. The right arm took her by the waist hard, pulling against her big and stiff body, making you feel all the hot erection inside the social pants. She sighed loudly with the grip and can't help but moan when he started a surreal suction on her skin, sucking as if it were the best candy in the world.
"Oh- my god... Fuck.. So good..."
You begged with your virginal aura so strong, shaking against it while he felt him trim it easily, firmly in one arm only, sucking and sucking on your chest as if it were vital to him and maybe it really was. His whining made him disturbed, crazy, completely out of his mind and could eat you right there. Actually, he couldn't, but he wanted to. Fuck the rest, he would go.
Carlos could be patient after all, he was just tasting as much as he could, making the most of your beautiful naivety and this was like an impulse directly on his hardened and painful cock, there so trapped under tissues.
"My beautiful doll... It's so nice to suck on these beautiful tits of yours..". Whispered between one snap and another with his feedings, where Carlos knew well what to do to leave you at the apex of hypersensitivity.
He smiled like the scoundrel he was and looked at you as he dropped his sore chest in one last suck or almost bite. He removed your lip between your teeth with his thumb and advanced with his tongue in your little mouth, kissing and stimulating you to the almost apex. You felt his sighs and breaths, losing your little head with every rude touch of it.
You was completely lost, Carlos was sure you were dripping, and he could confirm by putting his hand between the fabric of those panties, right in your center feeling your pussy completely hot and totally soaked. Holding on his shoulder, he grunted aiming at the act, yours red cheeks denounced your lack of imminent experience and that was the end of it.
He was so fucking big. You lost your breath with the man's firm hands removing everything that covered your body, dropping it on your feet, feeling exposed and at such a disadvantage when he was fully dressed. Your mouth salivated and your cheeks pinched when he saw the tent formed on Carlos' pants and wondered if it hurt as much as it did.
You took the liberty of touching there, insinuating himself indirectly and even without knowing it squeezed the piece of meat, feeling the hardness and how hot and pulsating his cock could be. She swallowed and aimed at him from that position, smiling naughty and curious watching Carlos return his smile as he kissed your little mouth and grabbed your cheek once again.
"Slut... You're getting well trained. Is this what you want, hm? - The big hand landed on yours and squeezed the cock the way you liked it, while waiting for your answer. "Answer you shameless whore! - Roughly forced the touch on your cheek and saw you whine.
"Yes! Yes...yes... I need to...— you squeezed your legs to each other trying to placate that frustrating situation of your pussy and saw him laugh, laugh in complete debauchery and excitement. Carlos loved to see you as a doll that he could clog with cum, that was the truth.
"Daddy will do whatever you want and will put up with everything like a good girl."
Carlos squeezed his own member in his pants and ordered hoarsely; "On all fours, open it well and lifts up to me."
You didn't want to wait, so you promptly went up on the bed with red cheeks and loapy eyes, swallowing in dry when you were on all fours close to the edge of the bed, opening as you could your little legs, procing your tail well towards him. Your entrances totally exposed and melated. Dripping demonstrated the power of man over your body.
Carlos without wasting any more time, which was all they didn't have, opened his belt and saw you retract only with the noise, leaning on his little hands he guided you to support yours elbows arching your spine as much as possible with the palm of his hand there, opening your little legs as it should be, almost grunting when he saw you so open to him.
"Shhh.. this, that way, daddy will prove it to you first, and you won't keep your sounds for yourself, will you?" He whispered with a false condolence and almost deceived you, because his naivety was such that he came to believe in that asshole. "This beautiful little bitch... That..." He caressed your entire prancing back and saw you sigh nervously, anxious almost biting your own forearm and all he did was smile.
He smiled arrogantly before running his finger between your folds and feeling the humidity. "Shit... so wet for me." He whispered to himself that you almost didn't hear him, and sighed in need by the contact.
Without warning you felt his nose touch your moist mound and his mouth suck your sensitive clit, you moaned loudly and you are sure you felt you smile while sucking you. His tongue made smooth and slow movements, which made you delirious and ask for more.
It was the best pussy he had tasted in his life and he was addicted. Carlos was a rotten man. You no longer knew how to differentiate between your own moisture and his saliva, he was making a mess on you and you love it.
He spent time savoring your taste and widening you with both his fingers, preparing you for his cock. You felt your stomach tighten and the moans get stronger, until the sensations in your core stop.
He smiled scoundrel before fitting his swollen head against your recently deflowered little entrance, squeezing your cute hips he forced himself inside, without mercy he buried every thick and pulsating centimeter, gasping loudly with every tight and resistance that his warm interior gave him.
"Fuck... I'll destroy you and you'll ask for more."
He forced your hips well, at the right angle to destroy you and invade your most intimate corner and watched you growl tearfully, perhaps with hot tears in your little eyes and your hand trying to push him away every inch. The man's big hands wandered from your tense little legs to your waist and the curve was divine, his palm fit almost perfectly.
"That's a lot...! Carlos... Daddy!" - You begged him to practically growl and put everything inside.
It was so big and the position didn't help, but it was perfect for him. You completely felt how he stretched you from the inside.
"Holy shit... how small it is, princess... So tight, mi amor..." And he caught you like a damn dog, clinging to your beautiful little body hit your hips under him, the heavy balls were felt by you and your hand went up to his hair, taking everything out there. "Perfect for me..." kissed your sweaty shoulder.
How would you get away with that? You had no idea, You just wanted to be eaten. Fucked up. Ruined.
Carlos and you could feel his cock hitting directly on your stomach and it was a surreal thing the way it filled you and opened you like that. Stunning. Your bitch moans delivered everything.
"Tell me..." he took your hair off your little face again, even in that position because he had a free pass for his whole body, regardless of how he caught you. "You like to feel my dick here, don't you?" He stocked up and heard you practically scream, covering your mouth in order to control your volume he laughed nicely in your ear, giving you goosebumps. "Speak... Speak that you like it when daddy hits you right here... What's up, bitch..." He forced himself and pressed your limit, watching you cry and stay completely away, dumb, delivered, having to literally hold you.
"I like it..! I like it so much, Daddy!" You begged out of herself, possessed by the absurd pleasure she felt. "Please...!"
Carlos stocked you willingly, with strength and it was nice, the melty noises were possible to be heard every time he buried and came back just to mistreat you again a little more.
"Daddy is giving you what he asked for, princess... relax your pussy, hm?" It was a theater because he loved the tension and every time he drove you crazy and felt you squeeze it all in there; so warm and humid.
"Daddy..! Daddy, please... I feel... I..."
"Daddy.. I... I... my God!" You was coming and couldn't stand it, squirmed all over and squeezed Carlos as if he wanted to expel him from there because you was so sensitive.
The tears slipped and the man held you firmly in place, grunting with the squeeze and whispering a sequence of "shh" in your ear.
"That... that... good girl... beautiful girl... So beautiful... It looks beautiful all the dumb cock like that... it came so tasty, my pretty..." He whispered as he filled the side of your sweaty little face with kisses, red as he loved to see; devastated.
You accelerated breathing and low eyes delivered that she was no longer in this world and that orgasm was overwhelming, her legs were honeyed with her honey and Carlos buried in her place left her with her nerves the flower of her skin. He grunted when he was picked up and malled like a little doll, feeling him more deeply, if possible, leaning his hands somewhere seeking relief from that extravagant feeling of being full; Carlos had sat her on his lap, and her little feet barely touched the floor. She was so small.
"Now it's Daddy's turn." Whispering in the middle of his dirty smiles Carlos made you jump, like a doll.
And he did everything, made her go up and down and her contained whining showed how sensitive she was, tears flowed and her honey also went down the man's throbbing cock, making a mess. He growled in your ear every time he impaled you on his own cock, demonstrating how close he was.
He saw in the mirror her destroyed image and how easy it bounced on the man's lap, soft and fucked. Completely fucked up, both the body and the mind. Her poor mind, all there was in her was him.
He was beautiful, big and strong, the reflection of the mirror showed how beautiful he looked as he pursued his own orgasm, eyes closed or semi-closed, lips between his teeth beautiful and frowning as he growled and growled in his ear and neck. Drops of sweat adorned his face.
Carlos' big and voracious hands ran all over you sensitive body, squeezing where he could and where he couldn't. He stopped on the inside of his thighs and raised them as if it were nothing, now pushing his hip willingly; he would cum.
"Fuck...! Fuck, mi amor..." And then he came, filling you with will and strength, so much shit that he seemed to be keeping it all to yourself, all this time.
He moaned or whimpered, she doesn't know, when you felt the whole heat hitting the cervix of your uterus, filling you in absurd levels; it was absurd. A fucking good feeling.
He smiled as he came down from his height and took a deep breath like someone looking to recover. Carlos raised his hip giving you the whole view of him buried in there and went right there, that was the point.
"See? Do you feel that? That's me. It's my fucking dick all inside you, hard as fuck..." Whispering against your cheek he spread his hand against the beautiful relief that was in your belly and you felt the tears flow in the mountains; that was surreal.
You spasmed like the good sensitive little whore you are, almost melting right there with the vision of that volume inside yourself. How could you stand all that? It was being destroyed little by little and that was exciting. You tipped your head on Carlos' shoulder and stirred dencosa, grunting when she felt too stimulated.
It was all too much, everything in Carlos for you was too much.
You hid your face in the curve of the man's neck, or at least tried, aiming from there at Carlos' ring finger; a fucking ring shone in pure gold.

Good Company
logan howlett x reader
Tumblr media
hello!!! guess who's back with a new story...I'm actually a bit nervous about it because I haven't (fully) written a reader insert fic in so long and I don't even know if it's a good depiction of the characters😭 anyway keep in mind that it was hard to write that, English is not my first language, and that I also want to write more, but I'm kind of shy around here. Okay enough about me. Enjoy!!
Wade worries that he’s seriously messed up with Logan, thinking he’s done something so bad that Logan might actually want to destroy him. Unsure of what went wrong, he turns to Y/n, Logan’s girlfriend, for advice.
TW: language, and Wade Wilson I guess.
Y/n was enjoying a quiet evening at her apartment, curled up on her couch with a book, when she heard loud knocks on the door. It was so insistent that she couldn’t help but roll her eyes, already suspecting who it was.
She opened the door to find Wade standing there, with a pizza box in one hand and a six-pack of beer in the other.
« Wade? » She raised an eyebrow. « What are you doing here? »
The man in question grinned brightly, shoving the pizza box toward her face as if it were an offering from a royal subject. « Surprise! I come in peace with gifts, for you, your majesty. I know, I know, you’re probably thinking ‘why is my most handsome friend standing at my door on this particular Friday evening, when I could be enjoying some alone time’- but here’s the thing, I was in the neighborhood, and I needed an excuse to come and see you, sunshine. »
Y/n’s skepticism deepened, her eyebrow arching even higher. « You were in the neighborhood? »
He shrugged, unbothered by the disbelief in her voice. « Fine, I was bored and I needed to see you and get away from the apartment. »
She frowned slightly, trying to figure out if there was more to this visit than he was letting on. « Alright, Wade. Come on in. »
Wade didn’t need a second invitation. He strolled into the apartment, setting the pizza and beer on the coffee table before flopping down on the couch with the ease of someone who had done this a thousand times before. Y/n followed, sitting beside him, her curiosity piqued.
« Okay, spill it. What’s going on? » Y/n asked, tilting her head as she studied him.
Wade cracked open a beer, took a long sip, and then let out a dramatic sigh. « First, I did really miss you and I’m so happy to see you »
Y/n softened at that, a small smile playing on her lips. « I’m happy to see you too, Wade. But what is it? »
« Second… » Wade’s usual bravado faltered slightly as he searched for the right words. « You know how Logan’s got that permanent scowl like he’s auditioning for ‘Grumpiest Man Alive’? Lately, though, it feels like he’s been directing all that grumpiness at me. I’m used to him being grumpy—kind of comes with the territory—but now it’s like he’s gone from ‘mildly annoyed’ to ‘seriously, get out of my sight.’ »
He paused, looking down at the beer in his hand, his fingers fidgeting with the label. « And I know I’m an asshole and I annoy him every single minute of his life- like a sugar rush and a headache all rolled into one- but he’s been kind of on the verge of trashing down the place all because of one stupid joke. So I’ve been trying, or at least I think so, to be less…the annoying bitch that I am, but I feel like he’s getting worse with me? I’m trying to laugh it off, but honestly, it’s kind of eating at me, Y/n. You’re pretty much the Logan-whisperer—got any insights? »
Y/n’s expression softened at Wade’s revelation. She reached over and squeezed his arm gently. « Logan’s got a lot on his mind and, as you may know, he doesn’t know how to deal with that. And I think that, because he doesn't know how to express all of those things, and the fact that it takes a lot for him to open up, he might be pushing you away. He did the same thing with me at the beginning of our relationship. It was fuckin’ hard to deal with but I couldn’t let him do that. »
« Yeah, but your his girl. It's different. What if he decides he’s done with me? I mean, who else is gonna put up with my charming personality and endless movie references? » Wade’s attempt at humor fell flat, his unease still evident.
She chuckled softly, shaking her head.
« Sorry, I just- It’s just that I- ugh. Do I need to pay you at the end of this therapy session, counselor? »
« Go on, Wade. » Y/n urged, her tone gentle but firm.
He sighed, leaning back against the couch. « He’s my buddy. I don’t want to lose him. And I especially don’t want to be the reason he’s leaving me. I would rather have you telling him to stop being friends with me. If he even considers me as a friend…»
Y/n cut him off, her voice firm. « Of course, he does! You’re his friend, Wade. Probably one of the best at that. Never doubt that, trust me. And I’m sorry he has you feeling that way. Those walls he put up around himself, it’s not for his own safety, he truly believes that he’s a danger for others. Whatever he does to you, it’s because he cares too much about you to be a burden in your life. He’s a fucking idiot for that, yes. It hurts even more to know that, yes. And I’m certainly not trying to defend him, but you should know that I had to work hard to break those damn walls. »
Wade stared at her, a mixture of hope and disbelief in his eyes. « You know, for someone who spends so much time with a guy who barely talks, you’re pretty good at this whole talking thing. »
She smiled, her heart warming at the sight of Wade starting to relax. « Takes a lot of practice. »
As they settled into their usual banter, Wade felt a little lighter, knowing that Y/n understood his concerns and had reassured him. Logan might be tough to figure out, but with Y/n in the picture, Wade felt like maybe things would be okay.
He grinned, the familiar mischief returning to his eyes. « I’ll fight for our man »
Y/n laughed, shaking her head in amusement. « You’re ridiculous. »
Wade took another sip of his beer, his grin widening. « Yeah, but you love me for it. »
She rolled her eyes but couldn’t help the fond smile that tugged at her lips. « Yeah, I guess I do. »
___
Logan found himself standing outside Y/n’s apartment door, hesitating. He could hear muffled sounds of laughter from inside, recognizing Wade’s loud one. With a heavy sigh, he pushed the door open.
Inside, Y/n and Wade were on the couch, a pizza box and empty beer bottles cluttered on the coffee table. Wade was in the middle of an animated story, and Y/n was smiling at him. The sight made his chest tighten. He’d been so wrapped up in his own head lately that he hadn’t even noticed how much he was distancing himself from all of this.
Wade spotted him first, grinning from ear to ear. « Hey, Logan. Decided to join the party after all? »
Logan grunted, closing the door a little harsher than he intended, making Y/n jumped at the sound. « Didn’t expect to find you here. »
Y/n smile faded slightly, sensing the tension in the room. She moved on the couch, making space for Logan beside her. « We were just hanging out, figured you might want to join us » she said.
Logan hesitated, his eyes lingering on Wade for a moment before he finally sat down. The silence that followed was thick, the easy banter from earlier replaced by a heavy, unspoken tension. Y/n could feel Logan’s frustration radiating off him, and Wade’s nervous energy was practically palpable.
« So… » Wade started, trying to fill the uncomfortable silence. « You, uh, missed some prime pizza. And I even saved you a slice. It’s in the kitchen, waiting for you, like a good little slice of heaven. »
Logan just grunted again, staring at the coffee table instead of acknowledging the gesture. Y/n felt the tension mounting and knew she had to do something before things got worse.
She gently nudged Logan with her elbow, giving him a small, encouraging smile. « Maybe you should eat something. Might help you feel better. »
Logan glanced at her, his hard exterior softening just a bit under her gaze. But before he could respond, Wade cleared his throat, drawing both of their attention back to him.
« Listen, Logan, » Wade began, his usual bravado faltering as he tried to sound casual. « I know I’m not exactly Mr. Sensitivity, but…have I done something to piss you off more than usual? You’ve been, uh, a little more…murderous lately, and I’m starting to think it’s not just my charming personality. »
Logan frowned. « What are you talking about? You’re always fucking annoying, bub. »
Wade forced a laugh, but there was an edge of vulnerability in his voice that Logan couldn’t ignore. « Yeah, I know, but it feels like I’m more of a target than usual. Like, did I cross some line? Or is it just me being my usual, lovable self? »
Y/n squeezed Logan’s hand gently, trying to ground him.
He looked at her, his frustration battling with the guilt that was slowly taking over. Admitting that something was wrong was never easy for him. He sighed, running a hand through his hair, clearly conflicted.
« It’s not…It’s not you, Wade, » Logan finally muttered, though his tone was still gruff. « I’ve got a lot of stuff on my mind and, uh, I guess I’ve been taking it out on you. »
Wade’s expression shifted, a mixture of relief and concern. « Okay, so…what’s on your mind, then? Maybe I can help. Or, at least, I can try to stop doing whatever it is that’s making you want to claw my face off. »
Logan didn’t answer right away, his eyes darting between Wade and Y/n. He could see the worry in her eyes, the way she was trying to keep the peace between them. It only made him feel worse. He wasn’t used to people caring so much, and it unsettled him.
« It’s nothing you can help with, » Logan said after a long pause, his voice softer now. « Just…shit I’m dealing with. Doesn’t mean I hate you, Wade. Just means I’m not great at dealing with stuff. Also, you’re still a pain in the ass. »
Wade nodded, the tension in his shoulders easing just a little. « Okay, I can get that. I appreciate it. But, you know, I’m not exactly great at feelings and all that, but I’m here if you need to… I don’t know, punch something or whatever. »
Logan managed a small smile at that, finally meeting Wade’s gaze. « Yeah, I know that. Thanks. »
Wade grinned, his usual energy starting to return. “Well, now that we’ve had our little therapy session, how about we crack open another beer and watch a good movie? It’s like the ultimate bonding experience. And what’s the best thing for that? A fucking musical.”
Logan’s expression immediately soured. « You’ve got to be kidding me. »
Wade’s grin only grew. « Oh yeah, peanut! »
Y/n laughed, her eyes twinkling with excitement as Logan let out an exaggerated groan, his shoulders slumping as he reluctantly gave in.
Wade chuckled and patted Logan on the back. « Let’s fucking go. »
As they settled onto the couch, Logan couldn’t help but shake his head in amusement. Despite his grumbling, there was a genuine warmth in his eyes as he looked at Y/n and Wade. He found himself laughing at Wade’s over-the-top dance moves and Y/n’s infectious joy.
Logan glanced at his girlfriend, who was practically glowing with happiness as she sang along to the movie’s songs. It was clear he was enjoying himself, even if he wouldn’t admit it out loud.
___
Later that night, after Wade had left and they were alone again, Logan stayed behind at Y/n’s apartment. He was still living with Wade but coming back home after tonight wasn’t the best idea. He needed the calm he found in Y/n’s home. They sat together on the couch, the remnants of their evening scattered around them.
« You know, you handled that pretty well. » she said softly.
Logan let out a long breath, leaning back against the couch. « Yeah, well, didn’t feel like it at the time. »
« But you did, and that’s what matters. » she insisted, turning to look at him.
He looked down at her, his gaze softening as he reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. « I don’t know what I’d do without you. »
She smiled, leaning into his touch. « Lucky for you, you won’t have to find out. »
Logan pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her and resting his chin on top of her head. For the first time in a while, he felt like things were starting to make sense again.
He tilted his head slightly, brushing his lips against the top of her head. She lifted her head up, catching his gaze, her eyes reflecting a mixture of affection and relief. Logan's eyes softened as he looked at her, the weight of the past few days seeming to lift.
He leaned in, pressing his lips against hers, soft and slow, as if she was made of glass. The most precious thing in his heart. Y/n's hands found their way to the back of his neck, pulling him closer as she deepened the kiss.
When they finally pulled back, their foreheads rested together, both of them breathing a little heavier.
Logan searched her eyes, his voice soft and sincere, a contrast to his usual gruff. « I love you. »
Y/n’s lips curled up. « I love you too, Lo. »
For the first time in a while, he felt a deep sense of peace. And as they sat there, surrounded by the soft glow of the apartment, he knew that, no matter what challenges lay ahead, they’d be okay. They’ll always find a way.
xx

the bathroom drawer
"Mickey!" Ian yells. "Did you move my cologne?"
"Your what?" Mickey calls back, appearing in the bathroom doorway while buttoning up his shirt.
"My cologne."
"No. I don't even know where you keep that shit."
"In here!" Ian says, shaking his head as he rummages through the drawer below their bathroom sink. "I swear I left it in here."
"Lemme see," Mickey says, nudging Ian to the side. "You're shit at looking."
"I'm not shit at looking, it's just not fucking there."
"Yeah, yeah," Mickey grumbles, moving the junk in the drawer around. "Jesus Christ. How much shit do we got in here?"
"Too much," Ian muses, folding his arms over his chest and leaning his hip against the sink. "But it doesn't matter anyway. It's not in there. I've been looking for--"
"Found it." Mickey holds up the blue bottle with a smug grin.
Ian grabs it from him. "Whatever."
Mickey raises his eyebrows. "Whatever? That's what I get?"
Ian leans in and gives him a loud, smacking kiss on the cheek. "Thank you," he says instead.
"Better," Mickey grumbles.
Ian spritzes the cologne onto himself while Mickey keeps rummaging around in the drawer. He pulls out an empty toilet paper roll, a broken comb with too many teeth missing, and an old phone charger with exposed wires.
He throws them all in the trash. "This thing is a mess."
"Yeah," Ian says with a sigh, checking himself over in the mirror. He paws at his hair a bit. "We gotta do a deep clean in here one of these days. Closet's a disaster too."
"What the fuck is--"
Ian looks over at his husband when he doesn't finish his sentence.
Mickey's brows are furrowed as he holds up a thin black stick in front of his face. "Is this makeup?"
Ian huffs out a faint laugh. "Yeah."
"Debbie's?"
"That thing's old enough to be Fiona's," Ian tells him, taking it from Mickey. "But no. It's mine."
Mickey raises his brows. "Yours?"
Ian uncaps the tube, twists the end so the little black tip pushes through the end. "Eyeliner."
"Holy shit," Mickey says slowly. "How fucking old is that thing?"
"Old," Ian says, trying to read the chipped writing on the side for any kind of date. "Probably expired."
"That shit expires?"
"Supposedly. But who knows."
Mickey tilts his head, watching Ian examine the eyeliner. "How the hell did it end up here?"
"No idea," Ian tells him. How it survived in the Gallagher house for as long as it did and moved to their west side apartment is beyond him. "Probably got boxed up with some of my shit a long time ago."
"Huh," Mickey muses. He crosses his arms over his chest. "Can't believe you used to put that shit on every night."
"Me neither," Ian says. "You ever tried it?"
"What, make up?"
"Yeah."
"For a disguise once or twice," Mickey tells him with a shrug. "Never like, just 'cause."
Ian starts to grin. "You wanna?"
"Fuck no," Mickey says instinctively. He bites his lip. "Why? You gonna wear it tonight?"
"Why not?" Ian asks, facing the mirror and leaning in close. "We're already going to a club. Might as well get go all out."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah." Ian glances over at his husband. "You got a problem with that?"
Mickey shrugs. "No."
"Okay."
Mickey watches with rapt attention as Ian applies the eyeliner to himself. The stick is old for sure, and it takes a few passes to really get the make up on his eyelid. It only takes a minute though, and then Ian's eyes are outlined in black.
"There," he says, blinking and turning to face Mickey. "How do I look?"
"Weird," Mickey says.
"Sure, but like, crazy weird, or hot weird."
Mickey's brows pinch together. "...Hot weird."
Ian grins. "It's kinda doing it for you, isn't it?"
"No. Shut up," Mickey says quickly.
Ian laughs. "You should try it," he tells his husband. "It's fun."
"It looks like it's gonna get in my eyes."
"Maybe," Ian says with a shrug. "But I bet you'd look hot with it."
"You say that about everything you want me to wear."
"And I've never been wrong once."
Mickey makes a face. "Does it hurt?"
"No."
"...Can I take it off if it looks stupid?"
Ian's face relaxes. "You can take it off whenever you want," he says softly. "Doesn't ever have to leave this bathroom."
Mickey glares at the eyeliner, his face slowly melting into apprehensive reluctance. "Fucking... fine."
"Really?" Ian asks, perking up.
"How do I do it?"
"I can do it," Ian offers, holding up the eyeliner and his open hand. "Lemme put it on you."
Mickey sighs through his nose, then steps closer. He tilts his chin up and fits his face into his husband's waiting hands.
Ian kisses his temple. "Close your eyes."
Mickey does as told. His eyelashes flutter at the first press of the stick, eyelids scrunching at the new, weird sensation.
"Hold still," Ian whispers, trying not to poke him in the eye.
"Feels weird," Mickey mumbles.
"Yeah, but..." Ian pulls back, smiling at his work. "Open your eyes."
Mickey blinks them open, eyebrows bouncing with it. "So?"
"Damn," Ian says, grinning. "You look good, baby."
"Fuck off with that," Mickey grumbles, turning towards the mirror. He makes a face. "I look like a fucking alien."
"A hot alien."
Mickey gives him the side eye, but he doesn't immediately wipe the eyeliner off. He leans in close to the mirror, tilts his head this way and that. Pulls at the skin on his cheeks and his temples. "Weird," he says quietly.
"So," Ian starts, capping the eyeliner and tossing it back in the drawer. "You ready to go, or what?"
Mickey sighs heavily, taking one last look at himself in the mirror.
Ian slides in behind him, curls a hand around his hip. "Don't overthink it," he whispers, kissing his husband's temple. "If you like it, go with it."
"I don't know if I like it."
"That's okay too."
Mickey leans back against him. "It looks good on you."
Ian smiles softly. "Thanks."
Mickey hums. "Fine," he says, standing up straight. "Let's go. But if anyone says anything about it--"
"I know," Ian says, hands on his husband's shoulders as he follows him out of the bathroom. "You get to punch them."
"I get to punch them."
"Fine." Ian kills the bathroom light. "And we might have to hit the 24 hour CVS on the way home. I definitely don't have make up wipes."

Strangers Like Me (Orm Marius x Reader)
Tumblr media
─ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓 ⋅☆⋅ 𝐀𝐎𝟑 ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─
A/N: I love Orm so, so much, and I've wanted to write for him since my major obsession with the first movie back in 2019. The sequel was everything I could have wanted for his character, and now that he's had the perfect open ending to his cinematic story, I finally let the inspiration run wild. This is the longest fic I've ever posted, and I'm proud to say he was the muse that inspired it.
Description: Orm Marius/Ocean Master x Fem!Reader (human), friends to lovers | Warnings: suggestive themes, steaminess at the end, cataclysmic levels of fluff throughout | Setting: after The Lost Kingdom | Word count: 5.8k
Gif credit: user acecroft
Imagine Orm opening up to you about who he truly is, and wanting to be part of your world
If someone had asked you a few months ago where you liked to be most, you wouldn't have said the boardwalk. Now, it'd become your favorite place in the world. Not for the noisy crowds, overpriced deep-fried foods, or vendors overflowing with cheap beachwear and souvenirs for the tourists. Those things you could have done without. That is, until you met Orm. Ever since that fateful day, everything around you had transformed into something new and exciting. Today was no different.
"I can't believe you've never had a corn dog before," you say.
Orm walks alongside you, well into his second serving. "And I can't believe something this abysmal in appearance can taste so good," he replies before taking another bite.
"Seriously, what have you been eating all this time?" you ask, wiping the mustard from the corner of your mouth with a napkin.
He swallows before answering, "Fish, mostly."
He was completely serious, as usual.
"You really love seafood, don't you?"
"Where I'm from, it's just called food," he counters.
Once again, you found yourself wanting to ask where exactly that place was. The last time you inquired yielded little insight. He gave a vague reply to the tune of "somewhere far away" and quickly changed the subject. For a while, you'd assumed he was originally European or something like that. Yet the more time went on, the more difficult it became to believe in that explanation. There must be a reason he did not want to talk about it, and you knew when he was ready, he would probably tell you. Still, you couldn't help but wonder where he had come from, and why he had not showed up sooner.
"So, what did you think of your first corn dog?" you ask instead.
"It was excellent. And I imagine it will not be my last," he says, tossing the stick into a trashcan as you walk by, "I still don't understand the name though, if it's not made of dog."
"Me either, honestly," you laugh as you toss your trash as well, "I'll have to look it up sometime."
"Speaking of, I listened to the singer you told me about."
"You did? What did you think?!" you exclaim, almost bumping into a passerby in your excitement.
"She is quite good, vocally. But I do think Ms. Parton would have more success exposing her rival publicly," he suggests.
"I know you're not talking about Jolene right now," you burst out laughing, covering your mouth.
"Indeed. This Jolene is a siren. She lures men with her wiles, and then goes unpunished because of her beauty," he explains wholeheartedly, holding his arms behind his back.
"Well that's the point of the song. Dolly is calling her out," you remind, "Plus what about her man? Shouldn't he get some of the blame? Falling for Jolene when he's already in a relationship? I mean come on, he's talking about her in his sleep. That's pretty low."
"Indeed, he misses the treasure that is right in front of him because he too has no honor," he expounds, his expression turning thoughtful, "You're right. Ultimately, they're deserving of each other."
"See! I told you," you chuckle victoriously.
Orm shakes his head, "I could not be tempted by such a woman."
"Oh, I don't know. You heard Dolly. Her beauty is 'beyond compare'."
"That is merely a facade," he dismisses, waving his hand, "Besides, I have seen far more beautiful than her."
You're about to inquire about his remark, but then you realize he's looking over at you. You can only hold his attentive gaze a moment before averting your eyes toward your feet, heart fluttering.
The previous moment still hanging heavy in the air, you walk together quietly for a minute before Orm stops in front of a beachwear vendor.
"Now that is amusing," he declares.
You backup a couple of steps to stand alongside him, "What is?"
He points to a pink tee shirt, the image of a mermaid riding on the back of a smiling dolphin printed on the front. "Dolphins are actually quite aggressive. They do not enjoy having riders on their backs. Sharks are much better mounts."
You stare at him, brow furrowed. "And how do you know that exactly?"
"I, uh, saw it on a television program," he stutters, "about taming sea life."
That was a lie if you'd ever heard one, and a strange one no less.
"Uh-huh," you reply unconvinced, walking away.
In silence, you resume your short walk to the end of the dock, Orm trailing close behind you. Once you reach the end, you lean over and rest your arms on the weathered wood railing, and he stands beside you. A few moments pass as you watch the waves crash upon the shore below and breathe in the salt air. It's not long before you feel his gaze on you once again.
He finally speaks, hesitation thick in his voice, "Something...on your mind?"
You smirk to yourself before looking over at him, "I'm just trying to figure you out."
"What do you mean?" he asks, concern visible in his bright eyes.
"I've never met anyone like you before. So much of what you say is a mystery," you remark.
"That is a fair point," he concedes, "I don't wish to vex you. There's just...so much that I don't know how to say."
You stand up straighter, smiling at him softly.
"I didn't mean it as a bad thing. Everyone has parts of themselves that they hide. Parts they don't want anyone else to see. There's nothing wrong with that," you reply, turning towards the ocean, "You don't like talking about your past, and I respect that. I just don't want you to think you have to hide. It's awful feeling like you don't belong, just for being yourself. I wouldn't want that for you."
"That is kind of you to say. Truly." He mirrors your posture on the railing, moving closer to you as a result. "You don't make me want to hide, Y/N. Quite the opposite, actually. I've learned so many things from you these past few weeks, and I have greatly enjoyed your company."
You look back to him, your heart skipping, "So have I."
His gaze softens. "I've also never met anyone like you before. You find joy and purpose in even the smallest of things. It inspires me how gracefully you view the world. And I've known no one whom I've wanted to share it with more."
Everything else around you melted away as you find yourself becoming just as lost in his eyes as you've been in his words.
Before either of you can move an inch closer, the chime of your cellphone cuts through the thick air between you.
Cursing inwardly, you shoot upright, embarrassed, and retrieve it from your pocket. It's an all-caps text from your sister with many exclamation marks, quickly followed by another. The sister you just now realized you forgot needed picked up.
"Oh no. I have to go," you say, frenzied, "My sister's waiting for me. I have to drive her home from her class, I completely forgot!"
"I understand," he nods, touching your arm assuringly, "Do you want me to accompany you back to the lot?"
"I really appreciate it, but I literally have to run. I'm so sorry, Orm," you say, turning to leave.
You make it only a few steps before you hear him call out.
"Y/N!"
Despite the urgency of your escape, you can't help but turn on your heel expectantly.
"Would you meet me tomorrow? Down on the beach, beneath the pier around sunset?"
A grin spreads across your face. "I'll be there!"
It took everything in you not to grin like an idiot the entire drive to pick up your less-than-amused sister. You weren't ready for the brutal interrogation that would surely come if she saw the look you knew was on your face. After apologizing to her profusely and letting her chew you out, as was her sisterly right, her suspicions were already raised.
"You've never looked this happy for me to yell at you," she said, glaring at you.
"I'm just really enjoying my book! I started the sequel I told you about," you defended, flashing a smile even you knew was pretty fake.
"Enough to forget all about me," she rolled her eyes and punched your arm, "You're not telling me something, I know it."
"I'm dying to know if she's really the lost heir to the throne, I heard the reveal is like halfway through," you add, ignoring her last words.
"Mhm," she grumbled, "Fine don't tell me. I'll figure it out, just wait. You can't hide from me."
"The only thing I need to hide from you is my chocolate bars," you argue in a desperate attempt to throw her off the subject.
"I'll find those too," she snickered confidently.
You laughed it off and went back to biting down hard on your lip. It was the only thing you could do not to spill everything to her as she continued to give you the side-eye. Your body was at the steering wheel, but your mind, and your heart, were back on that boardwalk. The final glare she gave you in her driveway was unmissable, but for now, you'd evaded being found out as you made a getaway back to your own apartment.
That night you'd hardly slept, the moment at the end of the dock replaying in your mind over and over well into the morning. Work only made it worse, the monotony making the perfect backdrop to picture what the coming evening would bring. When your shift ended, you couldn't get out of there fast enough to go home and change.
Now, with sunset fast approaching, you were circling the parking lot trying to find a space, and close to bribing someone to move, when a spot finally opened up.
"Someone loves me," you exhale, hurriedly locking your car as you throw your bag over your shoulder.
The words linger in your thoughts. You can't help but blush at the notion, given your current destination, and who was waiting there.
In some ways it seemed like a lifetime since you met Orm, and in others it felt like only yesterday. The memory of that fateful day comes to the front of your thoughts as you start the long trek to the path that cuts through the dunes.
Unlike your fib from last night, you'd actually been desperate to finish the book your coworker had been pestering you about all summer. With only four chapters left, you'd escaped to the boardwalk one sunny Tuesday afternoon, hoping to find a bench, a fresh lemonade, and far less crowds than the weekend so that you could finally finish in peace.
Just as you'd sucked up the last drop of your drink and reached the last handful of pages, you noticed something out of the corner of your eye. On a bench across the way from you, you saw a man trying to untangle the most knotted pair of earbuds you'd ever seen in your life. You watched him from behind the top of your book, and suppressed a giggle as he became more animated in frustration. He ran a hand through his blond hair and seemed near to giving up on the whole endeavor. Unable to watch him struggle any longer, you tucked your book beneath your arm, tossed your empty cup in the trash, and started to walk over.
"He did this on purpose," he muttered as you approached.
"I can take a crack at them, if you'd like."
In his fierce concentration, he hadn't noticed you approach. He jumped a bit at your greeting, and squinted up at you, confused.
"Hi. Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. Would you like some help with those?" you smiled hesitantly, "I just, I couldn't help but notice you were having a hard time with them."
"Well, you are welcome to try," he invited with a sigh, extending them to you, "Although I have seen seaweed less entangled than this."
You took them and sat down beside him, analyzing the knots.
"Earbuds are pretty notorious for getting tangled," you began, pausing to focus a moment, "These, however, look like a sailor used them to practice tying his knots."
"Courtesy of my brother," he said with no small amount of exasperation, "He delights in making things difficult for me."
"As brothers are wont to do."
"Indeed," he conceded.
Untying your own numerous pairs of earbuds over the years had more than prepared you for this moment. You'd made quick work of separating the right and left buds, down to the last few kinks in each.
"You're quite skilled at this," he observed.
"I should probably put it on my resume, huh?" you chuckled as you conquered the final knot.
"I think you might consider it," he laughed as well.
At last, all the tangles were gone.
"There you go," you declared, handing them back, "Good as new."
"Impressive," he remarked, marveling at your handiwork before looking back at you, "Thank you for your assistance."
"You're welcome," you smiled and pointed to the iPod in his lap, "What do you like to listen to, if you don't mind me asking?"
He hesitated, picking it up, "I'm...not actually sure how this device works. Are you familiar with the technology?"
"An iPod?" you laugh, "Yeah, I had one in high school. It's been a while and it wasn't this exact model, but they're all pretty much the same. MP3 players, that is. I had so many songs on mine, I couldn't add any more. Never went anywhere without it. I had to tape it together in senior year because I used it so much."
"Perhaps you could show me how to properly operate it?" he posed, turning towards you more, "My brother sent it to me. He said it contains music inside that I must hear, but I'm at a loss on knowing how to make it play."
You gazed at him bewildered a moment, caught off guard. Never had you met anyone who didn't know how to work an iPod before. But then again, you reminded yourself, not everyone had a chance to own one.
"Sure," you grinned, "I can show you. There's not too much to it, really, once you know the basics."
"Thank you," he replied sincerely, "It's not often that I've met a lady with such kindness, and lightness of fingers."
Heat immediately rushed to your cheeks at his gracious works, and suddenly it was difficult to hold the gaze of his rich blue eyes.
"It's no problem at all," you replied, offering your hand, "I'm Y/N, by the way. Nice to meet you."
"I'm Orm Marius, and the pleasure is mine."
Before you could blink, he'd taken your hand, and instead of shaking it, he kissed your knuckles. If he had lingered, perhaps it would have alarmed you. But he did it so quickly, it was like it was second-nature to him. Practiced or not, your head spun nonetheless, and launching into an urgent, flustered spiel about how to power on the iPod was all you could do to keep yourself held together.
You spent the next half an hour showing him everything from the buttons to the way to change the background image on the menus. Before long, you were talking about all of your favorite songs and artists, simultaneously making lists for each that he would have to listen to. Orm listened eagerly to your recommendations, and soon the conversation turned to any and every subject, from foods to places to dreams. You still remember the feeling of the rest of the world fading away as you talked to him, afternoon turning to evening. And the thrill you felt when he asked if he could see you again.
In the almost four months since, every meeting followed much in the same manner as that first day, with introducing Orm to the many things he'd never experienced before, and hours of conversation on the pier or walking along the beach. You'd stolen away to this area as many times as possible to see him, well over a dozen now. Of course your sister was more suspicious than ever after yesterday, but you still weren't ready to reveal where you'd been spending so many evenings, and who you'd spent them with. There was something exhilarating about you and Orm meeting secretly, and you wanted that feeling to last as long as possible.
He had such wonder about the world, like someone who'd not been in it very long. It was one of his oddest qualities, but his curiosity was endearing to you. Despite knowing so little about his past, you'd come to trust him like few others in your life. Whoever he'd been before, and wherever he was from, it seemed he had no intention on going back. If you were honest with yourself, you didn't want him to. There were so many places you wanted to take him further inland, yet he was still hesitant to go far from from the ocean. You'd never gone beyond a couple of blocks from the boardwalk together, but tonight, with the energy of yesterday's encounter fresh in your mind, you'd planned to breech the topic with him.
Now, the sun is sinking lower in the pale orange sky and your pulse quickens with the threat of being late. With all your reminiscing and daydreaming, you'd lost track of the time. You nearly run across the wooden walkway over the dunes and down the broad stairs. As soon as your feet hit the sand, you remove your sandals. Grasping them in one hand and the strap of your bookbag in the other, you take off into the best sprint you can manage. The pier is still a good distance up the beach, and you want to curse out whoever built the access so far away. You run at an angle towards the water, the wetter ground giving you better traction than the loose sand.
Just within the shadow of the great structure, you finally see Orm up ahead, his back turned. Out of breath, you slow your pace and try to catch some of it back before you reach him. Once he's within ear shot you call out to him.
"I'm sorry I left in such a hurry yesterday," you pant.
He spins on his heel. Relief is written all over his face.
"You came. I was afraid you might not," he sighs, walking up to meet you.
"Of course," you exhale, dropping your shoes and brushing away the hair clinging to your forehead, "Why wouldn't I?"
His expression indicates he had not thought of an answer to that question.
"I don't know," he hesitates, "I didn't mean anything by that. I mean, I wouldn't have blamed you if you hadn't. I did ask you at the last minute."
You can't help but chuckle as he stumbles regretfully all over his words.
"I brought you something," you declare to change the subject, much to his gratitude.
"A gift? For me?"
You can tell by his tone that he is actually baffled. Reaching into your satchel, you retrieve the item. In your outstretched palm, you hold a small snow globe, a miniature skyline of New York City contained inside.
His confused expression leads you to elaborate. "It's called a snow globe," you say, turning it upside down so that the little flakes inside swirl around, "You told me once that you never get to see snow where you're from. Now you can see it whenever you want."
He tentatively takes it, entranced by the miniature flurry.
"That's where I'm from. Well, I grew up there. We moved here when I was sixteen," you add, chuckling, "It's a little bit nicer in person."
Orm looks up at you, visibly touched by the gesture, "It's wonderful. Thank you."
"You're welcome," you smile, "I, hope that I can show you the real thing some day."
"I would like that," he replies with the smallest hint of sadness, pausing to behold it again, "I will treasure this always."
You'd never met anyone who talked like he did. Everything word he spoke was with full conviction. Others might sound pompous or conceited speaking the way he does, but when he said something, you believed he truly meant it.
"I'm glad you like it," you say, tucking your hair behind your ear.
"I do, very much," he says, frowning a bit, "I'm only sorry that I have nothing to give you in return."
"That's alright," you dismiss.
"Will you keep it safe for me while we are by the water? I regret that I have no pockets large enough to carry it."
"Absolutely," you say, putting it securely back inside your bag, "I know that feeling all too well."
When you finish with the zipper and lift your head up, you see Orm offering his arm to you. Surprised, and twice as excited, you take it.
As you cross beneath the pier and set off down the beach together, you suppress the urge to glance up at him. You agonize over what to say next, hoping he would speak first. When he did, it only made your heart beat faster.
"Actually, when I said I had nothing to give you, that was not entirely true," he said, clearing his throat before going on, "As much as I enjoy your educating me in foods and traditions I've never tried, I was hoping this evening we might enjoy a treat of a different kind."
Just up ahead, something on the shore comes into view. Your mind races in anticipation, and moments later, you come upon a blue blanket spread out neatly across the sand. A single white rose lies in the middle.
"Oh Orm," you breathe.
"It's not much, but I thought you would like to watch the sunset with at least some level of comfort," he says, a veil of nervousness in his voice.
"It's perfect," you exclaim.
He releases your arm and picks up the rose, presenting it to you.
"For you."
You feel nearly breathless once more as you take the flower and inhale its sweet fragrance.
"It's beautiful," you sigh, "Thank you."
He smiles timidly at your approval. "Shall we?"
"This is amazing," you say, removing your bag and carefully sitting down on the soft blanket.
He follows suit, and you gently place the rose in your lap as he comes to rest close beside you. The glow of the setting sun warms your skin, but it's nothing compared to the warmth in your chest.
You'd never seen him act like this before. He was normally so calm and collected, but now he was almost pure nerves. You work up the courage to glance over at him. He's staring hard ahead, clenching his jaw and rolling a seashell between his fingers. It's slowly becoming clear that you're not the only one who wanted to say something this evening. Normally, you found the rolling of the waves to be one of most soothing sounds in the world. But at this moment, they were far too loud.
You decide you have to break the excruciating silence.
"I've only watched a true beach sunset alone before."
Your voice brings him out from his trance. "I've also been by myself. I'm glad I have someone to share the splendor with."
"Me too."
He smiles weakly, and fixes his stare back on the horizon.
To your disappointment, the silence returns. Before long, everything is bathed in golden light. The sky transforms into rich oranges and reds before your eyes. The beach is surprisingly deserted apart from the seagulls and sand pipers, making it seem all the more that this moment was tailor-made just for the two of you.
Just when you're about to speak again, Orm at last turns towards you.
"I wish I could show you my world, Y/N. It is a realm of beauty, and strength, and light. You belong in such a place."
You feel your cheeks flush as he continues.
"Where I'm from, you can't see the stars at night. But there is a place with magnificent, glowing lights. A cave, filled with luminescence of every color you can imagine. You would absolutely love it."
"That sounds magical." You hang on his every word as you try to picture it.
"My mother used to take me there when I was a boy. I remember my whole hand disappearing inside hers." He smiled at the memory, but it faded as he spoke once more, "We used to go there seeking solace from my father."
Frowning, he throws the seashell towards the water. The sun begins to dissolve into the ocean, but neither of you take notice.
"Did you not get along?" you ask, hoping it was not too personal to do so.
His gaze falls downward again. "That's one way of putting it. Growing up in his shadow was- challenging. He was severe about many things, and against all of the rest. He expected me to become just like him. Demanded it, more like. Yet he was never up to the task of teaching me how. I wanted nothing more than to please him, but as I look back on it now, I'm not sure that I ever did. I was never worthy enough to be his son."
His words make your chest ache. You reach to gently touch his hand on the blanket.
"You are not an unworthy son," you assert, your feelings coming to the surface, "He was an unworthy father. I don't need to have met him to know that. Because I know you, and you are a good man. The most thoughtful, polite, decent man I've ever met."
He stares at you, emotion all over his face. A wistful look shines in his eyes.
"If only I had known you then," he reflects, "Perhaps I would not have gotten so lost in the tides of his storm."
"I wish I had known you too," you agree, more shyly than you'd expected, "But wouldn't have needed me. You already survived it, all on your own. You're stronger than he ever was."
His expression steels.
"Y/N, there is something I must tell you," he says, his tone turning grave, "It will not be easy for you to hear it, but I can't go on without you knowing what I am. I cannot hide it any longer. You deserve to know the truth."
Your heart starts to race quicker than your thoughts at his startling declaration. "What do you mean?"
Without warning, he casts off his jacket and stands up.
"Orm, what are you talking about?"
"Perhaps, it would be better if I showed you," he says, reaching out his hand to you, "I want you to understand. No more secrets."
For just a moment, you look up into his pleading eyes. Then, as if it had even been a choice, you carefully set the rose aside and take his hand. He helps you to your feet and leads you down past the water's edge. The cool water on your feet sends a shiver up your spine. The foam is lapping at your ankles when he stops just in front of you.
"You see that marker?" he points ahead.
The breeze whips your hair into your sight as you fight to push it away. You have to squint to see the outline of the buoy, the red light on top twinkling faintly in the twilight.
"Yes," you hesitate.
"Keep your eye on it," he directs calmly.
With that one instruction, he retreats further into the water, stopping until it is well above his waist. You cross your arms against the chill of sea spray and wait worriedly. He looks up and down the beach, as if to make sure no one is watching. You are still alone. Before you can call out to him, he dives headlong into the waves.
What follows you can only describe as a thunder beneath the water. It looks as if a missile has been launched from where Orm stood, careening toward the marker. Mere seconds later, a blast like a whale spout shoots above the horizon, and the buoy rocks violently as it is landed upon by the figure that flew up out of the sea.
A gasp escapes from your agape mouth as you witness the silhouette wave at you, and proceed to dive back into the blue.
Three pounding heartbeats later, Orm immerges from the surf and walks toward you, slicking back his dripping hair. His tee shirt clings to his muscular form, and his soaked jeans don't seem to encumber him at all. You're frozen in the sand, staring at him with only one word on your parted lips.
"How..."
"There's no simple way to say it, but you must know. I am from the Kingdom of Atlantis," he confesses, struggling to hold your stare, "I am Prince Orm Marius, son of Queen Atlanna. Although I was once ruler, I made many mistakes during my time on the throne for which I was banished. My penance is served by my exile here on the surface. I deserve my fate, and I gladly uphold it, but it is not something I wanted to keep from you any longer. I'm sorry that I was not honest with you sooner, but I didn't think that I could trust any surface-dweller with my secret. I was...proven wrong."
"You're a real Atlantean?" you manage to get out.
"I am," he nods, apprehension still in his voice, "I was raised to hate the surface and its inhabitants, but much has changed. You, Y/N, have had no small part in that."
Despite your reeling head, it's slowly becoming clear what Orm is saying by this grand unveiling of his true identity. As you struggle to process it, however, your silence compels him to go on.
"If all of this is too much, I understand. It is my burden to bear, and you did not ask to be part of it."
"I-It's not that," you stammer as the shock starts to wear off. You step closer to him. "Not at all. It's just a lot to take in. I need a minute, that's all. I promise."
Hope lights up his eyes.
"Absolutely," he agrees eagerly, "I apologize, I know this reveal was sudden. Please ask any questions that you have. I will withhold nothing from you."
As you finally begin look at him instead of through him, only one question lodged in your throat.
"Why?" you ask through threatening tears, "Why did you tell me all this?"
You knew why, because it was the same reason you wanted to tell him all of your own secrets. The same reason you came back to this beach over and over. The same reason your heart skipped every time you saw his handsome face, and heard him speak your name. You just wanted to hear him say it. For any of this to work, you needed to hear it.
His anxious gaze softens as he weighs his answer.
"I meant every word of what I told you yesterday. When I'm with you, I see a future that I never thought I would deserve. You make me feel like I can be more than I've ever been. And for the first time in my life, I have felt true happiness," he says, finding the words along with his conviction, "I never thought I would belong anywhere but Atlantis, but now, I want to know more about this world and its many gifts. And most of all, I want you to be by my side to show it to me."
"I want that too," you respond, tears threatening.
He gently takes your hand in his. "Even after all that I've done, part of me hoped that I might find some kind of redemption here on the surface. I wasn't sure how, and then I met you," he says tearfully, searching your eyes, "Y/N, you gave me that hope. Your goodness, your charity, your beauty. This realm has much to offer, more than I ever dreamed, but you are what I love most about the surface. From that very first day we spoke, I knew that you were what I was meant to find here."
Your vision blurs as he reaches to gently stroke your cheek.
"All of that to say...I've fallen in love with you, Y/N."
A sob escapes your throat as you look into his eyes and see it.
"I fell for you too. From the first day," you nod, finding your own confidence, "Being Atlantean doesn't change that. I don't care about who you've been or what you've done. I want to be with you. I love you too, Orm."
His composure crumbles along with yours as you embrace. The distance between you vanishes as your lips meet in a desperate kiss. You rest your hands on his chest and melt into his touch. He sighs and deepens the kiss, pulling you close against him. You feel the coolness of this still-dripping clothes soak through to your skin as you become lost in the taste of salt and longing. When you're forced to come up for air, you're both beaming.
"I've wanted to do that for so long," he smiles, caressing your face.
"Me too," you giggle, lacing your arms around his neck, "What did you think of your first surface-dweller kiss?"
"Not too bad. I think I'll have to try it again before I decide if I really like it," he smirks.
"Well, if you get me out of this frigid water, I'll see what I can do about that," you tease back.
"Now that I can do," he announces.
You shriek in surprise as he swiftly lifts you from the water and into his arms as if you weighed nothing at all. He chuckles in amusement and carries you bridal style back toward the shore.
"Orm!" you protest, in an obviously half-hearted fashion.
"I have to admit, concealing my Atlantean strength has been considerably more difficult than I anticipated," he reveals, wincing a bit, "I intended to bring a bottle of wine tonight as well, but- the glass here is far weaker than what I'm accustomed to."
You laugh. "Well, it's the thought that counts."
"I'm glad you think so. Because I thought since I'm responsible for us missing the best part of the sunset, that perhaps we could lie under the stars instead?" he suggests, setting you down gently on your feet upon the blanket.
"I would love to," you say, looking up at him, "But aren't you freezing in those clothes?"
"I'm used to it," he shrugs, "I don't think I feel the cold the same as you."
"In that case," you say, pulling him closer into a tender kiss, "What do you think about that?"
He grins.
"It was perfect, and I'm certain it will not be my last."
You no longer feel the chill as you cling to him, and he rests his forehead to yours. It didn't matter where the tides of life would take you next. As long as Orm was there to hold you in the waves, you would always be in your favorite place.

There was a first time for everything. At least that's how the saying went. Jessica had never been stood up before. But it was the fact that she was completely blindsided by it that really got to her.
It was 7:34. Jake was more than thirty minutes late. He wasn't coming. She had been stringing him along for too long without giving him her phone number. Or maybe she really was just as dull as she thought she was. Regardless, she was going to have to stand up from her table and walk back past the bar and out the front door. Alone. She recognized two of her students sitting a few tables over, and she wanted to cry. Doing this pathetic walk of shame out of Chippy's would be enough to have her in tears on the drive home. She just knew it.
"Shit," she muttered to herself as she slid off of her stool so her heels clicked against the dirty floor. She adjusted her glasses with the backs of her fingers and then picked up the journals she brought with her along with her purse. Then she tried to keep her face neutral as she nodded at Chippy who looked extremely displeased behind the bar.
"Night, Reedy," he murmured as she walked past. She wished she could reach the big trash can from this side of the bar, because what sane woman keeps giving a hot man scientific journals all the time? She'd throw them away in the dumpster near where she parked. And then she would go home and reevaluate just how she managed to mess this whole thing up in the analytical way her mind wanted her to.
She skirted past her students and pushed the door open to the cool, evening air and the sounds of traffic. She managed to let out the breath she had been holding, but now the tears were right there, and she was hoping to get home before they spilled over.
"Jessica!"
She knew it was Jake. She knew his voice. She also knew she couldn't run to her car in high heels fast enough before he caught up with her. So she turned toward his voice and waited on the sidewalk as he rushed toward her.
He looked like a mess with grease stains on his jeans. His hair was disheveled, and he was all sweaty. "I'm sorry I'm late," he panted, out of breath with his hands on his hips and his head tipped back as he gasped for air.
She wasn't sure what to make of him like this. She didn't know if she even wanted to try. "I'm just going to head home," she replied softly, taking a step in the opposite direction. "It's already 7:40."
His eyes looked desperate when they met hers. "Fuck!" he grunted under his breath, broad chest rising and falling rapidly. "Stay? Please? Just let me get you one drink? And we can talk?" He was so handsome, she desperately wanted to cave and still spend the rest of the night drinking cheap beers and eating peanuts with him.
"Why are you late?" Jessica asked, adjusting her glasses. "I thought you were looking forward to Chippy's." She kind of shrugged like she was already expecting some stupid excuse, and then Jake brought his hand up to her cheek and brushed her hair back with his fingers.
"My truck was in the shop last week, and it appears to be having problems again. Once it stalled out and I couldn't get it started again, I just left it and ran here. Because I have absolutely been looking forward to Chippy's. And you look beautiful, by the way," he drawled softly, fingers tangled with her hair as his breathing evened out.
"Where did you leave your truck?" she asked, leaning slightly into his touch.
"By the Starbucks on Collier Avenue," he replied softly, green eyes fixed on hers.
Then Jessica gasped. "That's like five miles away!"
"Mmhmm," he hummed. "I should have just left it there as soon as it died, but I tried to mess with it first. That's why I'm so late. I'm sorry."
"Oh." She didn't know what else to say. He ran five miles to get here.
"Yeah. Oh," he said with an edge to his voice. "I emailed your university account, but I figured you don't check it after you're done working for the night. And I still don't have your phone number, or I would have called you immediately."
Jessica felt warmth in her cheeks as Jake closed the distance between them like he was going to kiss her. "If you give me another chance and your phone number, I'll buy a new car before our next date to guarantee I'm on time. Or I can just leave early enough to run the whole way."
She giggled softly. "You're funny, Jake."
He just shook his head and said, "I'm pretty serious right now, Reedy." Then his gaze dipped down to her lips, and Jessica could tell he wanted to kiss her. His fingertips were still gently tangled in some strands of her hair. His body was warm as he crowded her against the outside of the bar, and she was flattered that he ran to get to her.
"You must be thirsty after all that running," she whispered, tugging on the collar of his shirt.
He turned his head so his lips brushed along her knuckles, and she gasped as he said, "I'm thirsty for more than beer or water, Jess. But I'd still love to take you inside and get some drinks and some peanuts."
And then she found herself nodding and leading him toward the door.
----------------------------
The bartender was glaring at Jake as soon as he held the door open for Jessica, and it just intensified when he let his hand rest on her lower back. "Reedy?" the other man called out, absolutely scowling as he let his fist rest on the bartop.
"It's okay, Chippy," she replied, glancing up at Jake as she walked toward the only empty table in the dive bar.
"The bartender is actually Chippy himself? The man, the legend?" Jake asked softly as he pulled out one of the stools for Jessica and watched her set her journals and cute little purse on the table.
When she slid onto the seat and crossed her legs, she said, "Yes. Don't mess with Chippy. That man was nice to me when nobody else was."
Jake studied her pretty face as she adjusted her glasses. "Who in their right mind wouldn't be sweet to you?"
She looked down at the journals and pushed them aside like she was suddenly embarrassed. "It's been known to happen."
"Shouldn't though," he replied, brushing her hair behind her ear. "Now let me go mend fences with your main squeeze. I want to be able to show my face in this fine establishment again in the future."
Jessica was smiling brightly at him as he turned toward the bar where Chippy was wiping the same spot with a rag over and over again. "Good evening," Jake said to the older man who still looked like he wanted to snap Jake in half. "Could I get two pints of whichever beer is Reedy's favorite?"
"Sam Adams," he grunted, tossing the rag aside. "And sometimes I get the Sam seasonal kegs for her. When I can."
Jake just nodded. Chippy was a big fan of Jessica's. He really needed to make sure this guy liked him, and he was pretty sure leaving another massive tip was not the answer. "Right. Two Sam Adams pints then, please."
Without another word, Chippy pulled two beers from the tap for Jake, setting them down a little hard in front of him before he scooped a bowl of peanuts.
"Thank you," Jake told him as the bowl of peanuts came thudding down next to the beers.
While Jake dug a ten dollar bill out of his wallet, Chippy grunted again. "She waited a long time for you to show up." His voice was accusatory.
Jake smoothed the bill between his thumb and index finger, stealing a glance at Jessica a few tables away. She was playing with her hair and reading something with a soft smile on her lips. He turned back toward the bar and met Chippy's eyes. "It won't happen again."
"No. It won't. Because next time I'll kick you out permanently," he said, crossing his arms over his chest. "If you can even manage to get a next time, that is."
"That's certainly the goal," Jake informed him.
"Well, a lot of men look, that's for sure. And I think she's oblivious to most of 'em. But not you, for some reason," Chippy said, scowling once again. "Handsome and annoying," he muttered. "Be nice to her or I'll kick you out once and for all." Then he reached for the rag again, completely ignoring Jake.
"Right." Jake picked up both glasses in one hand and grabbed the pretzels, and he headed back to the table and Jessica.
"Did you have a nice conversation?" she asked with an amused expression as Jake slid one of the beers in her direction and sat on the stool opposite her.
He leaned on the table and whispered, "Not particularly. Pretty sure he'd happily kick me out given the opportunity. I had to swear on my life I'd never be late again."
She laughed behind her pint before taking a sip. "His bark is worse than his bite. Mostly. But actually, the head of the chemistry department has a lifetime ban, so maybe not."
"Damn," Jake murmured, taking a sip of his own beer. "Was he late meeting you two times in a row?"
Jessica looked down into her beer, swirling the glass gently, a solemn look on her face. "Something like that...let's just say the fact that Brian Conley isn't allowed in here is just one of the reasons this is my preferred hangout."
"Okay," Jake said softly, wondering if this Conley character had anything to do with the rumors Bradshaw's wife had been telling him about. Regardless, he was going to side with Chippy on this one. Conley could eat shit if Jessica didn't like him. "We hate Brian Conley," Jake told her as they both reached for the peanuts.
For some reason this got Jessica laughing again. "We do," she said as she picked up a few peanuts and held her hand open to him. Jake rubbed his thumb along her palm before selecting one and cracking into it. "Now, did Chippy tell you I like Sam Adams? Or did you guess from last time we were here?"
Jake tossed the shell on the floor and said, "You think I'd leave that up to chance? I one hundred percent asked him just to be sure. And now I know what kind of beer to buy if you agree to come to my place and let me cook dinner for you."
Jessica froze with her hand in the air, ready to throw her peanut shell. "You know how to cook?"
"Yeah," he replied with a smile. "I love it, actually. I usually meal prep on Sundays after I buy all my groceries for the week."
She was gaping at him. "There are two of you with the uniforms and the kitchen skills?"
Jake laughed, realizing she must have been referring to Bradshaw as well. "First of all, he's married. I'm single." She finally tossed her peanut shell and rolled her eyes.
"I finally made a friend at work," she said, cracking another shell and throwing this one at him. "You think I'm going to risk that by even looking at her husband for a second too long? No."
Jake tried to keep a straight face as he said, "Nobody's gonna get mad if you look at me all day long, Reedy."
"Tempting," she said before sipping her drink without meeting his eye.
"And," he added, running his fingers along her palm as she handed him more peanuts, "the kitchen isn't the only room where I have skills."
She met his eyes and adjusted her glasses with a smirk. "Care to tell me more about that, Lieutenant Seresin?"
He nodded and said, "I'm really good in the living room, too. You should see how well I can lay on the couch and watch University of Texas football."
She laughed and said, "I almost forgot for a second that you're from Texas."
"How did you know I'm from Texas? And, oh shit... did all those A&M boys already ruin my chances for me? I almost never wear my boots and hats around, I swear."
Jake grinned as she threw more peanut shells at him. "Stop!" she whispered as she laughed, and Jake loved the sound of it. "The only thing they ruined for me is Lone Star beer and line dancing."
Now he was laughing, because yeah, that made sense. "You're a Yankee, obviously. Don't tell the Texans I've been visiting you at work. They won't stand for it."
"Oh, sounds like Romeo and Juliet," she replied. "Except without the balconies, old English, and hermits giving out free drugs to children."
"Wait," he said, now the one who was laughing too hard. "My condo has a balcony."
"Shiiit," she whispered, eyes wide in feigned shock. "I was hoping this was a comedy, not a tragedy."
"Oh, it's definitely a comedy, Jessica. The audience is in riotous laughter over the fact that I still don't have your phone number."
This time she had to cover her mouth with one hand as she laughed. And when Jake glanced toward the bar, Chippy looked decidedly less aggressive now when he met his gaze.
"You Yankee girls must have a very particular vetting process. You from New York?"
"Massachusetts," she replied, still giggling. "I went to MIT undergrad."
"That explains the Sam Adams. Also, I'm never getting your phone number, am I?" he asked playfully, reaching across the small table and tucking her pretty hair behind her ear again while she laughed. "You've got me showing up to see you at work and running five miles for dates."
"Don't count yourself out quite yet," she said as he stroked her cheek.
"And you got me reading physics journals on my couch while the college games are on," he added softly. "You brought some more for me to take home?" he asked, dropping his hand and tapping the stack on the table next to her elbow.
But now she had a dreamy look in her eyes. "You really read them instead of watching the game?"
"Mmhmm." He nodded and said, "Picked one up at halftime and realized I missed the entire third quarter before I was done reading it."
Her lips were softly parted as she blinked at him. "Yeah. I brought you some more. But you have to promise you'll read them all cover to cover."
"I always do."
"Good. You won't be disappointed."
Jake laughed and looked down at the peanut shell in his hand before he tossed it over his shoulder just to make her smile. "I doubt you could ever disappoint me, Jessica."
God, the way she looked at him when he dished out something sweet could probably bring him to his knees. And the thing was, it was never a line. He wasn't throwing out bullshit to see if landed. He meant every word of it. Her eyes were unguarded as they always seemed to be with him now, and he couldn't believe he almost completely blew this evening with his fucking truck.
It was getting a little late now, and he needed to try to secure the next date while she was still looking at him with those dreamy eyes. He just didn't want her to think he had any certain set of expectations but suggesting his place.
"You know," he started, "my couch is big enough for both of us to watch some football and read some journals together. I could buy some Sam Adams, and we could make dinner together on Saturday night."
He watched her front teeth sink into her lip. She was hesitating. And it was killing him a little bit. "I think I can make that work," she said slowly, sliding the journals across the table as his heart pounded.
"Gonna need your phone number so I can text you my address," he whispered, reaching for her hand before she pulled it away. "Please?"
He drew a little heart on her palm with the tip of his index finger, and a smile bloomed across her face. "You'll find it, Jake. I know you will." And then she slowly closed her hand and stood, leaving him to pick up the journals. "But it's getting late, and Thursdays are early for me."
"Right." He followed her past the bar and watched her wave to Chippy who looked at her with a very kind smile before giving Jake a look of warning. And maybe he needed that warning, because he was looking at the gorgeous swell of her ass and enjoying the way she walked in high heels a little too much. So he nodded at Chippy, and kept his eyes on her wavy hair instead.
Once they were outside, Jessica dragged the toe of one of her shoe a few inches along the sidewalk as she leaned against the building. "Thanks for the three dollar beer," she said with a smile.
"You know, I'm pretty sure Chippy would give them to you for free if you were alone."
Her smile turned into another pretty laugh. "You're not wrong. Do you need a ride back to your truck?"
"Wouldn't mind one since I need to get it towed," he murmured, not quite ready to move from this spot where her face looked so perfect in the dim light. "But I'd be more than happy to run the five miles back."
And then her right hand reached up to tug on his shirt collar, and she didn't look so hesitant now as he eased himself closer, letting his hand rest on the wall next to her. "You have a peanut shell in your hair," she whispered, releasing his collar and brushing her fingers along his temple.
Jake swallowed hard. His lips were just a few inches from hers as he softly said, "That's probably because a beautiful woman was throwing them at me."
Her laugh was quiet and breathy, and then the space between their lips was negligible. And then she was kissing him with her small hand wrapped gently around his neck. Jessica was smiling against his lips, and he wasn't used to it being this sweet. He didn't kiss the girls from the bar like this, and they never teased his cheek with the tip of their nose or ran their thumb delicately behind his ear.
Oh, he was going to crave this now. Soft, exploratory kisses that tasted like beer and peanuts. And the sound of her soft moan as he let his hand trail from the wall near her shoulder down along her side to her waist. Yeah, this was going to become a necessity for Jake.
She brushed her lips along his again before looking up at him with surprised eyes as he held her a little tighter. And then six more little kisses while her hand trailed down his neck. "I was really afraid you stood me up earlier," she whispered, trailing some kisses along his chin.
"I wouldn't do that, Baby. You have any idea how much I wanted tonight to happen?" Jake had one hand full of physics journals and one hand full of Jessica, and he was already thinking about what he might cook for dinner on Saturday night.
With a soft laugh, she started to lead him down the sidewalk to her car. And he got to do even more things he never really did. Like open her car door instead of call her a cab at two in the morning. And lean over from the passenger seat and kiss her cheek gently as she started the engine.
"What's your day looking like tomorrow, Dr. Reed?" he asked, linking his fingers loosly with hers for the short drive to his truck.
"Department meeting, lectures, more lectures, a lab, and then my office hours."
Jake's mind was already working on a plan. "I have a long day ahead of me, too. There's my truck," he said, pointing to the piece of shit he was afraid he was going to have to replace.
Jessica pulled up next to it and put her car in park, but when she reached for the key, he covered her hand with his. "Just leave me here. I'll get it towed to the garage again and then get Bradshaw to drive me home from there. I want you to go right home. It's late and it's dark out."
Jake wrapped her hand around the steering wheel again as she said, "Okay." But the single word was muffled by his lips crashing against hers. He kissed her long and hard one time, and her glasses were a little crooked when he was done. He straightened them out before he reached for the door handle.
"I had a great time tonight. I'm sorry I almost ruined it by being late."
"You made up for it by running five miles," she whispered. "Night, Jake."
And then he was watching her pull back into traffic as he called for a tow truck, keeping his eyes on her brake lights until they were out of sight. Just for good measure he looked up some new trucks for sale as he sat behind his steering wheel, but that got boring after a few minutes. And then he thought about the way Jessica told him she was confident he would find her number.
He lunged for the journals sitting on the seat next to him, and he spread them out to read all the covers. His eyes caught on an edition of Applied Physics from late last year that said Jessica Reed, PhD. on the cover under an article title about combustion in jets.
"It's gotta be," he whispered as the tow truck arrived, and he frantically flipped to the page where her article had been printed. He would read the whole thing later. He wanted to read the whole thing later. But right now his eyes settled on a small, handwritten note. He recognized her writing from the mini lecture he'd accidentally attended, and a smile crept along his lips.
Jake,
If you made it this far, you can call or text me anytime.
Her number was written beneath it, and he was entering her as a contact in his phone when he got out to talk to the tow truck driver. He felt like he just won the lottery as he added the picture of her he had saved from the San Diego State University website as her contact photo.
Jessica, I'm sending you my address for Saturday. You and me, my couch, physics journals, college football and dinner? Please say yes.
It was getting very late now, and maybe she wouldn't respond until tomorrow, but Jake felt like he was on cloud nine. He just kept thinking about how sweet Jessica was. About how he wouldn't mind wrapping her up in his arms for some more soft kisses on his couch.
Once the driver was unloading his truck at the garage, Jake opened a different contact on his phone and made a quick call.
"It's 10:30, Hangman. This better be important."
"Bradshaw. I need a ride home from the garage. My truck is acting up again," Jake replied, trying not to smile at how annoyed Rooster sounded.
An exasperated sigh carried through the phone, and then Jake could hear his wife in the background asking, "Who is it?"
"It's Hangman. He needs a ride."
"Oh, well we can always finish this later, Beer Boy." His wife sounded less annoyed than him, thankfully.
After a brief pause, Bradshaw said, "Give me twenty minutes. I need to get dressed."
"Thanks. Much appreciated," Jake replied. He dropped his keys into the overnight box with a note telling the mechanic he was having the same issues as last week. And then he waited for that blue Bronco to pull into the lot, and when Jake climbed in, Bradshaw looked pissed as hell.
"Do you have any idea what my wife was about to do to me when you called?" he growled, shifting into reverse before Jake even had the door closed.
"Come on, man. Your wife's hot, but I don't want to be imagining what the two of you get up to."
"She was about to reprimand me for turning in sloppy math homework," he said, completely disregarding Jake. "And I'm virtually sure she will no longer be in the mood for that when I get back at 11:30. So you owe me. I don't even know what you owe me yet, but it's going to be big. Because I'm assuming you expect me to give you a ride to work in the morning, too."
Jake cleared his throat and said, "If you wouldn't mind."
"Fuck," Rooster growled as he pulled up to Jake's condo building. "I'll pick you up at 7:30. Get the fuck out."
"Thanks," Jake said, trying to keep his face as neutral as possible. Jessica had just texted him back, and he was all smiles even as the Bronco peeled away. He was in.
------------------------
As Jessica undressed in her bedroom, she ran her fingers along her lace bra. She wondered what Jake's favorite color was, because she probably owned a pretty matching set that she would love to wear for him. She should have known this was going to happen; one kiss from him, and she was thinking about spending a lazy Sunday in bed with her fingers tangled in his hair.
"Stop," she told herself half heartedly with a dreamy smile in the mirror. She'd given him the journal with her number inside, and now she just had to wait. He'd probably find it by tomorrow. Maybe she would see him at her office hours again. Her whole body was tingling with excitement as she unclasped her bra, and then she heard the ping of her phone notifications.
She tossed her bra and bounded across the room in just her panties and saw a text from an unknown number.
Jessica, I'm sending you my address for Saturday. You and me, my couch, physics journals, college football and dinner? Please say yes.
She squealed as she flopped down onto her bed. He was good. It took him almost no time to find her phone number. She typed back a message as she thought about his big hands and his southern drawl. After she hit send, she closed her eyes and imagined everything she wanted to do to him in her office as she let her fingers glide along her body.
Don't forget the Sam Adams. See you on Saturday.

Yes! You run those five miles, Jake! Anyone else just love Chippy? Thanks to @mak-32 and @beyondthesefourwalls

Reluctant War AU Part 3
Part 1 Part 2
More of the brain worm that has taken me over, gonna probably post it to Ao3 here before too long. Already got another part started and so many ideas for additional stuff, someone please send help I've been consumed by this thing lol
Sorry if Waller seems out of character, outside of fandom I'm mostly familiar with her through Justice League the animated show & Justice League: Unlimited and her vibe there has always struck me as "deeply incredibly unlikable character that also kind of has a point but also has done so much fucked up shit in the name of her goals that you don't really care about her point anymore." So you know, complicated lol. If she's completely unrecognizable let me know, but I'm hoping she feels at least somewhat like Waller.
Forgot to say this in the last update, but still feel free to use all this as an overly long prompt if yall want. Literally anything I throw out to the void should be treated as a prompt lol If there's anything at all interesting to you in any of this nonsense go for it <3 <3 <3
---
Amanda Waller was someone who did what needed to be done.
Ruthless, heartless, vicious, cruel.
She’d been called it all. Wore the words thrown as insults as a badges of pride and valor. Because at the end of the day, when it came to the problems she was given to face, the issues she was meant to solve, those words meant she’d done what others had been too squeamish or cowardly to do. Life was a never ending slog of trolley problems and she the only one unshakable enough to pull the levers that needed pulling.
It wasn’t so simple as a matter of greater good.
Greater good was what the weak willed muttered to themselves after having feelings over doing the bare minimum. A justification used by people on all sides to do what they wanted with fractured, faulty logic thrown around like truth was a thing immutable. To assuage their guilt when they were forced to make a call they didn’t want to.
It wasn’t a matter of greater good. It was a matter of preservation. Of protection. Of digging through the filth to find the threats skittering beneath and crush them with ruthless abandon. Of facing a god and not blinking because if you did it could cost the world.
Of doing what needed to be done, no matter how underhanded or atrocious it was.
Hands dirty.
Hands red.
Hands wrapped tight around the throat of something that could threaten to destroy it all.
When the Ghost Investigation Ward had been shoved her way with it’s sucking wound of a budget, it’s bloated incompetent staff, its asinine methods she’d seen a rotted limb in need of hacking off. It hadn’t been until she’d been conducting her inspection, digging through the trash for a few pearls of effective agents she could snatch up and put to work elsewhere, that she’d truly seen what they were working on. The potential.
Potential to better arm themselves with in the forms of the strange new weapons being created.
Potential for threats far greater than anything even she had thought possible before.
The GIW as it had been when she’d first come across it was a fetid waste of time and resources. A laughing stock agency only secret because no one took them seriously enough to look. Made stupid and useless with its own conceited delusions of importance it didn’t actually have. Yet.
She went to work on it. Hacking away as she’d originally intended, but this time with a different goal in mind. She ripped out the weeds with bare, calloused hands and planted proficiency and loyalty in their place. She took over as director herself, tossing the self-aggrandizing fool that had been running the place into the ground to the dogs as the culprit for misappropriate spendings, saving the agency by tweaking things until their ballooning budget was pinned neatly onto the former director as an embezzling charge.
Then she got to work.
The Fentons were brilliant, if entirely insane. But Amanda could work with that. She’d reigned Harley Quinn in - more or less - she could do the same to the two deranged scientists that so eagerly wanted to be apart of the fight against the dead. Especially when the benefit came in the form of the inventions they threw together so easily, especially when those inventions were weapons.
It took very little to get them on board with her plans for the GIW. Keeping their focus could be a chore, at times, but she didn’t even have to really do much in the way of pressing to get them back where she wanted them. They craved knowledge and understanding nearly as much as they craved the eradication of the entities themselves. Letting them have the first look at a new subject here, free reign over a vivisection there, it took so little to fuel their fervor and keep them busy working on the projects she set for them.
Things had been going smoothly.
For a time at least.
Until Phantom.
He’d been the main focus of the previous director’s attention, the big fish he’d so desperately wanted to catch and put up on his wall. Amanda wouldn’t lie and say it wasn’t a tempting prospect, but not one she’d put above the other projects she had set in motion since taking over. No, Phantom was powerful, enough to be a real problem one day, but she could the awkward youth in the way he held himself, the inexperience in how he handled situations. She had time to get everything else in order before focusing on getting Amity Park’s would-be hero brought to heel.
And he would be brought to heel. One way or another.
Hands dirty.
Hands red.
Hands wrapped tight around the Core of a fledgling god and bending him to her will.
An artifact, old an powerful, recovered with some effort. A means of controlling specters, of chaining them to the will of the artifact’s wielder. Dangerous in the wrong hands. Dangerous in the right hands.
It was shattered, and even whole and functional Phantom was resistant to its power. But Amanda Waller prided herself in her ability to see the potential in things. It could be repaired, be made better. Even gods could be bound, be made to kneel, with the right pieces, with the right application of force.
It was just a matter of time to gather everything needed.
Phantom didn’t know he could single handedly destroy every last member of the Justice League. The baby fat, the innocent eyes, the split-second hesitations when he fought. He knew enough to be confident in fighting the usual ghosts that haunted Amity Park, but he still very much saw himself as a little fish. Maybe it was the part of him that was still Daniel Fenton, gangly teenager not quite sure what he was truly capable of yet.
She had time before the Fenton’s son truly became an issue. Time to judge if his parents’ obsessiveness would overcome their - rather shoddy, by Amanda’s estimation - parental instincts and continue to hunt him once they knew the truth. Time to get as much out of them as she could before hand, should they falter at the idea of attacking their own son. Time for the staff to be repaired and returned to working order, to get the other items needed for the truly big fish hidden on the other side of the veil between worlds.
She had time.
Until she didn’t.
Pariah Dark had not been something she thought she’d have to account for - not yet, at least.
If he wasn’t already dead, she’d ring the Ghost King’s neck with her bare hands. His arrival had opened Phantom’s eyes to what he was capable of, of just how big of a fish he was. Worse still, Phantom’s defeat of the war mongering King changed the state of play. Phantom was no longer an impressively powerful half dead teenager.
He was King Infinite.
He was an Ancient.
He was getting on her last damn nerves.
Phantom’s rogue gallery were now firmly under the boy’s control. Still distinct nuisances around Amity Park, but no longer considered true concerns. They were loyal to their boy king, delighting in ruffling his feathers but never crossing the line into treason or attempted regicide. Which meant that the GIW was the only thing that held his attention.
Amanda took the time to send a care package to the former GIW director in his tiny, dank prison cell. As thanks for his carelessness in revealing to the entire town - both living and dead - of the agency’s existence and their intentions. Had he stuck to standard protocol, Phantom would have been none the wiser to their presence. Would have scratched his head and shrugged his shoulders at the ghost that went missing upon occasion. Would have been boredly uninterested in the people his parents had begun working with. Would have been taken by surprise when they finally came for him.
But no.
No that self-obsessed, fame chasing imbecile had to go and announce to everyone and their dead mother that the GIW existed and exactly what it was they were in Amity Park to do.
Phantom knew what they were there to do.
They could only count on his naive certainty that he could broker peace with them for so long.
Peace. As if he and his people weren’t the invading force, the monsters slipping in through the cracks between worlds, the latest threat that had to be accounted for. As if he himself hadn’t rent their world asunder himself in another world, another time. No. Peace was not something they could hash out with this baby-faced monarch with his too-big crown. Peace was the assurance of safety, security. Of control of the situation.
There could be no peace.
The higher ups were somehow surprised when Phantom took that to mean there would be war.
Amanda Waller was not.
The Fentons, as suspected, took the right side when all was revealed. Steady hands and flinty eyes as they crafted the weapons that would be needed for the coming fight. Minds even sharper in their maddened grief, hearts set on revenge for the son lost and the entity that stole his face and friends and sister in his garish pretense at humanity. They were blinded to the reality of the situation in its entirety, the potential in what their son truly was, but at the end of the day it didn’t really matter. They did what she needed them to do, they could believe whatever it was they wanted so long as they did.
By the time the boy king and his armies marched upon the Amity park facility, preparations had been put into place. The base in Amity had been stripped back to bare essentials, everything of importance moved to more secured locations.
The weapons labs.
The artifact.
The girl.
All tucked well away from the front lines where Phantom and his motley crew could not reach. Their time to be put in play would come, but not yet. First she needed to gauge what Phantom and his people were capable of, what they were willing to do in the name of what they wanted. Amity Park was a pawn well sacrificed on that front. As were the other facilities she’d left easy to find.
The problem with making children gods, with giving them crowns and calling them King and giving them armies to play with, was that they thought there should be rules. That even in the trenches tearing apart their enemies, there was a certain level of playing fair that everyone was held to. They thought there was a way the world worked, of how things should be that blinded them to more effective options even as time stretched on and desperation set in.
It was the Dead’s problem though, not hers.
She reached out to the Justice League. Sour faced, unhappy, bitterly reluctant to accept that she needed their help. Stone faced and barely containing their rage at what little they knew of the situation, they agreed to a meeting.
She didn’t let herself smile until she was well and truly alone in her office.
Greater good. A lie people told themselves. A fairytale told to children. A means of convincing the weaker willed that they had no choice, that they had a noble duty to bend to. A belief that could be wielded like a weapon if the fantasy of the idea had dug in deep enough. And there were few it had dug into so deep as the members of the Justice League.
Amanda Waller was someone who did what needed to be done.
Hands dirty.
Hands red.
Hands clenched tight on a victory long in the making.

Beautiful boy || Rafe Cameron x Toxic)
Tumblr media
Rafe has always been a man of having dark and narcissistic thoughts. He knew he had a problem, but he always tried to fight it, he knew he was sick, but he tried to fight it. But he couldn't, But that changed when he met the great and greatest love of his life, which was you. Rafe knew that you were the one who brought him calm, peace and hope. So he never wanted you to leave him He loved you, and he wanted to protect the people he loved, even when he did horrible things.
It was a sunny Sunday afternoon on the Outer Banks and you were on the boat with Rafe, lying in bed because the mansion's air conditioners had broken and the boat was the only one with air conditioning. Working at that time, so you and Rafe went there
"It's so much better here, Rafe" you say, hugging Rafe in bed
"Yes dear, I think I'm a little sleepy" Rafe says a little sleepily. He always slept when he was hugging you
"why don't you get some sleep?" You tell your boyfriend, you knew Rafe worked a lot, so it was obvious he was tired
"yes, you're right, but don't let me sleep too much, okay?" Rafe says, kissing your cheek and slowly closing his eyes. You nod your head
Rafe ends up sleeping and you end up looking at your cell phone and hearing a noise coming from outside the boat room.
You wanted to wake Rafe up to tell him about the noise you had just heard, but he was sleeping like an angel and you didn't want to ruin his peace. So you decided Get out of bed and see what was going on (even though I'm very scared)
"Who is there?" you say looking around the boat already out of bed
You look and see John B, taking Rafe's swimming gear
"What the fuck are you doing here, John B?!" You say shouting in anger, but relieved that it wasn't anyone else
“It’s none of your business Y/n!” Jonh B speaks in the same tone and it makes you angrier
"You're on my boyfriend's boat, stealing his things, that is, my business" You say, approaching John B and increasing the tension between you.
"ok! Your shitty boyfriend is trash! And he hit my friend Pope" jonh B speaks angrily
"that's not possible! Rafe has a strong temper, but he would never do something like that" You say, not wanting to believe it
"whatever! Now let me go!" Jonh B Speaks, taking the equipment and putting it on his back
"What are you going to do with this equipment?" You speak before John B leaves
"I really need them, I promise I'll bring them back" John B says and leaves you there on the boat
You didn't hate pogues like Rafe, and having that conversation with John B just showed how kind and harmless they were
But Rafe always kept you as far away from them as possible.
You return to the boat room and see Rafe moving slowly on the bed and muttering something
"who was here?" Rafe speaks in a voice that is seriously weak from sleep.
"hun It was John B" you say simply, sitting on the bed and taking out your cell phone to scroll through
"WHAT?!" Rafe says, jumping out of bed and opening his eyes frantically.
"Hey, my love, stay calm, okay?" You say taking Rafe's arms trying to calm him down
"what was he doing here?! Did he touch you?! Did he look at your body!?" Rafe wouldn't stop talking madly
"No, no Rafe..." You were about to speak but Rafe interrupted you, taking a gun from under the bed and scaring you.
"Rafe! What are you going to do?!" you speak with a shaky voice
"These Pogues just annoy me, but...touching you...it's too much." Rafe speaks hoarsely and putting bullets in the gun
"Rafe! He didn't do anything, please drop that gun!" You speak with tears in your eyes
But he didn't listen to you, he just got off the boat nervously , You didn't know what to do, you only knew how to cry and pray that nothing bad would happen. But it was already too late
Two hours later:
Tumblr media
It was already night and you were sitting on the bed hugging your body and crying. Rafe was taking a while and that only made you worry more, but then he arrived, opening the door to the boat room.
"Oh my God! Rafe, where were you?!" You say getting up and touching him
Rafe was cold and dirty...with blood
"what blood is this Rafe?" You speak in a low voice and are afraid of your boyfriend
"It's over, my love, this guy will never bother you again" Rafe says, running his hands over your face
"Rafe..." He interrupts you once again, placing his lips on your mouth and then hugging you tightly
"Close your eyes Have no fear The monster's gone" Rafe speaks softly into your ear and your heart speeds up. You were definitely his

warning: kids, blood, torture, intoxication, drugs, dark magic, pain, deaths, Illyrian torture mmm... I'm trying to think if I haven't missed anything. Ah... wounds.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
There was one thing Azriel was certain about: he was never going to get used to the sensation of holding you. The way his body ignited. It felt as if only then all of his senses were in tune with the rest of his body. The sweetest taste of perfection filled him. This was what finally feeling whole felt like. So was he pissed off when Rhys's gentle knocking on his mental shields woke him up? Yes. Was untangling his limbs from you the hardest thing Azriel had ever done? Absolutely. Did he linger just a bit longer, slowly brushing your hair as he watched you take in breath after breath? yes. Azriel smiled to himself because this was it. This was his forever. His other half lay in his bed. Peacefully sleeping. So his. Only his.
"I'll let you punch me raw", Rhys had caught up with Azriel in no time, "But you also know I wouldn't have asked if this wasn't serious". Azriel knew his duties. He took them seriously, too. So even if his heart was bleeding for his mate, he knew his people also needed him. "Fill me in," Azriel said firmly, tightening the straps holding his knives. "Cass is finishing the last interrogations, and nothing fucking adds up." Rhys was frustrated, which was always a sign of something going extremely wrong. All he was told before Azriel had winnowed into the south side of Velaris was that the border had been breached. An attack had occurred, but the moment the soldiers were sent, it all vanished. In Azriel's 500 years of life, shit didn't just disappear. "Memories?", Azriel said as he scanned the place. Weavers were already patching up the wards, but none of them looked seriously torn apart or damaged in general. "Ink black," Rhys said and Aziel halted at the sound of it, an odd chill running through his back. "And a freezing one. I could push, but...", Rhys ran a hand through his hair. Azriel recognized that worry now. Worry for the family. A mate, children. He was in the same boat now. "You could push, but let me guess, you would fry their brains in the process," Azriel unleashed, his shadow scattering around the place. He was going to fix this. And fix this quickly. Maybe he will even be able to come back before you have woken up.
Cold. Cold. Cold. So cold. So dark. It was so painful and numb at the same time. There were hands. Cold fingers. Echoes of something familiar. How could one feel so heavy and light as a fever at the same time? It felt as if you were blinking for a moment, desperately trying to wake up, only to be plunged back into the same darkness. Someone was holding your head down as you trashed. before Your body had grown frail once more. Slumping.
"I'm telling you they came with torches; everything was on fire," the man said, and Azriel would have believed him, but he knew the farmer. Had gotten multiple reports from him about younglings messing up his sheep fence. He heard him speak before, and something deep within Azriel screamed that this man wasn't talking on his behalf. "Look, if you got the whole village in on this because of that damn fence..." Cassian huffed; he too was losing his patience. Nesta was pregnant. Nothing had been confirmed, but Azriel could smell it on Cass, and so could Rhys; the two had shared a look but chosen to not test Cassian's boundaries. The man was desperate for her. Out of the three of them, Cassian was the one whose patient was extremely thin today. Not to mention the heightened need to protect that coursed through his body.
Azrie shot his brother a look before motioning for the door. Cassian was halfway through the door when the man spoke again, "What fence?" There was a glimmer of relief in the man's eyes before it all glazed over again, and this time that same odd tone was back: "Torches all of them." Azriel turned to Rhys, whose face bore the same realization. They were all under something. Herbs. Magic. Mother only knew.
"Billy, your goat. How is he doing?", the man practically seized at Azriel's voice. "Bill...", the male breathed. "Yeah, one who chewed up your farm shoes," Azriel continued, the same glistening light running through the male's eyes. As if he was clawing at himself from within. It was as if someone was barging to be let out. But it was Rhys who delivered the last blow. "What about your wife? Huh, how's she been doing? She's still knitting you scarves." The male coughed, clawing at his neck. Panic set in as he moved towards the door, but Cassian was still standing there, his broad shoulders blocking any chance at escaping. "Billy and your wife, how are they?", Cass said it in a demanding tone. The man stilled, and then, thick like lava, liquid trickled down his nose.
"Rhys...", Cassian growled. The male staggered back slightly but gained his stance pretty quickly. And the terror that set in now was of a new kind. "My lord...", he breathed out, pulling his hat off his head, only then reaching to feel the dampness on his lip. Dread pooled in Azriel's stomach. "Fuck," the high lord breathed, "This is set up." Rhys's darkness swallowed the place as he winnowed. Azriel reached for the older male and said, "Go home; I'll be back, but you have nothing to worry about." With that, he snatched Cassian's hand as they both winnowed.
It was the cold that seeped into you that had pulled your eyes open. Your fingers grazed the surface beneath you. They felt numb as if they no longer belonged to you, but enough to still somewhat identify your surroundings. The surface you were lying on was damp. That would explain the sounds of droplets hitting the puddles somewhere. You tried to dig into your mind. Tried to think. Where were you? What was happening? You forced your eyes to fully open. A gray stone was what greeted you. You frowned instantly. Nothing seemed to add up. It was sniffling that you picked up on next. But the moment you turned your head to the side, you were met with something you thought you would never see again.
"No", your voice was barely a whimper. "No", you tried to pull yourself up, crawling towards the painfully familiar bars. You didn't feel a single ounce of magic within yourself. It was as if it had all fizzled out. But this couldn't be true. Absolutely couldn't. You have escaped. You... your hands touched the bars as you pulled yourself up. And for a heartbeat, you wished you hadn't.
In the cell opposite of yours lay two figures that clawed through every bit of sedative running through your system. "Zofie, Axel...", the words were barely a whisper as your knees threatened to buck any minute. "Zo, Ax," you breathed louder, trying to move the cell doors, but for nothing. It all came rushing back then. The strange vision. The dinner prep. Elain. Your thoughts halted - Azriel. Your hand rested on your chest. You couldn't feel him. You couldn't... "No," you breathed. He couldn't be dead. You wouldn't be standing here if he was. Your eyes darted back toward the kids. Zofie was pale. Too pale. Axel's wings were bent awkwardly. They couldn't be. They couldn't... It was enough for the thought to simply swirl there and within seconds you were turning to the side as bile rose in your throat.
No matter how much panic Azriel felt coming from both Rhys and Cassian, he refused to let it settle in. You were fine. You had to be. They were all just panicked. Nothing like that has happened since Amarantha. So it was more than understandable that everyone would be ticked off. Azriel unbuttoned the first two buttons of his shirt as he winnowed back to his apartment. Rhys was meeting him there the moment both Nesta and Feyre were in the safety of the house of wind.
Just the moment his foot hit the wood floor in his apartment, Azriel knew that something was off. The place seemed ice-cold. The burning smell filled his nose. No. No. No. Not happening. "Y/n," he called out as he stepped deeper into the place. Bile rose in Azriel's throat as his eyes scanned the kitchen. Flowers were scattered on the floor, with a smashed vase to accompany them. Fresh goods were still in the bags by the little kitchen counter. A burnt-out pot—whatever had been cooking there had turned into a chard mess. At least now he knew where the smell was coming from. Azriel's eyes fell onto the colorful drawing that now lay upon all the filth that filled the floor. A card. He hesitated. He knew whatever was in... Azriel folded the paper open. Messy's scribbled writing in two different colors greeted him.
We wanted to ask you a big question. Written with a k instead of a q, that's been crossed out and corrected. Azriel wanted that to warm his heart, but all it did was cause more ache. Yet nothing prepared him for the next line. Can you please be our dad? We'd love that, Zo and Ax. The world in front of Azriel shifted. His vision went out for a second. Their dad. A father figure. Azriel gripped the kitchen counter. His kids. They were already his kids. But to know that they both wanted that and that they had all of this set-out... All of this was supposed to be a surprise for him, and now...
Azriel heard rustling outside his apartment door that he only now realized was slightly ajar. "Elain?", a muffled voice that belonged to Rhys called out. Azriel crossed the distance in a couple of steps as he yanked the door open. His anger was boiling even hotter. He saw her, hiding in the corner of the hallway. That same black liquid trickled down her nose. "I couldn't. I tried", she managed to muffle between sobs, but Azriel turned away from her. "Tell Lucien that she's here. I don't need a territorial male running around causing trouble", Azriel said bluntly to Rhys.
"Azriel, please," Elain shifted, trying to reach for any part of the shadow singer she could get her hands on. "Elain, unless you have something useful to...", Azriel batted her hand away as he scowled at her. She probably didn't deserve it. It wasn't her fault that she had gotten herself under that spell, yet knowing that she was the one who had seen you last didn't sit well with Azriel. "They know you'll come; she wants that," Elain muttered, making Azriel frown. "Who?", the female shook her head, and Azriel moved to step away instantly. "A lady in white, she... I don't know, like a priestess."
And within a beat of a heart, it was all crystal clear. The threats and the unwillingness to cooperate—Rhys said it had all been done and taken care of. A new wave of anger rushed through Azriel as he reached for Rhys's neck, bending most of his body over the sixth-floor railing. "I should have burned that place down," Azriel hissed. "Azriel," Rhys said, pushing against his brother's hold. "If my mate and my kids get hurt because you stalled, I swear on everything holy to me. You will never see me again, Rhys", and with a final shove, Azriel let go. Rhys managed to keep himself upright, but before he could turn to the spymaster, he was already gone.
The next time your eyes snapped open, you scrambled to your feet almost immediately. Reaching for the bars, you cast your gaze upon the cell opposite yours. A breath hitched in your throat. They had shifted. Axel was leaning against the wall. All you could see was his face; his wings were messily draped over his chest, he no doubt had to be holding Zofie. "Axel," you called out softly, not wanting to startle him even more. Mother knew these kids were through hell just because of you. "Sweetheart, Ax," you called out again, knees buckling as those golden eyes gazed straight at you. "Y/n," he breathed in return, trying to move closer, but you quickly shook your head.
"It's okay; stay where you are. Are you hurt? Does anything hurt?", you looked him over the best you could. The boy only shook his head. "But Zofie is cold," he muttered, pealing one of his wings to reveal a sickly pale girl with no color in her skin. You sank to the floor. "Is she...", the ringing in your ears grew louder. Axel quickly shook his head once more. "I think it's the empathy thing," he said softly. "I've been thinking all the happy thoughts, and pa-Azriel," Axel stated. Your eyes softened. "You don't have to correct yourself, Ax; you can call him your papa." You wished they hadn't taken this evening away from them. Why this one out of them all? "Will he come to get us?", there was doubt in the boy's tone, but you met his eyes with your blazing gaze. "He will. He will always come for us. No matter where we end up, Azriel will always find a way to bring us back home. You want to know why?", you asked him, and Axel instantly nodded, "Because he loves us, and we love him."
Azriel's shadows were swirling all around the sanctuary as he watched from the mountain peaks. He knew that you were there. The last bits of mating bond practically screamed at him while he ran over ways he was going to slather everyone stupid enough to get in his way. He gritted his teeth together.
"You know... I was never afraid of your darkness," you had muted to him as you two had laid in bed together. Your hand was extended up in the air as his shadows swirled all around, tattering your skin with kisses. "You should be; most are," Azriel breathed. "Why would I? It's a part of you, and it's beautiful to me." Azriel had shifted slightly from the words—loving you is the easiest thing I have to do in my life, he had thought but he didn't say it. too afraid that it was all moving too fast. too afraid to scare you away. And now, more than ever, Azriel wished he would have spoken those words. Would have told you about the house on the very side of Velaris. He had bought it decades ago for his family. For his mate and for his kids. And he had just that—all of it—but it was slipping past his fingers.
A handful of papers slapped against Azriel's chest as Rhys winnowed right in front of him. "Padme wants you apart because you two were a profit in some ancient scroll," Azriel snatched the report, taking his eyes off the building just for a heartbeat so he could look it over. "You two are the opposite of the spectrum; your union can... You'd become more powerful than most high lords", Rhys said firmly, knowing that at any moment the words he spoke could be his last, " So this whole thing could be set up by one or multiple of the other high lords, or someone desperate to save the world".
Azriel had to give Rhys credit. The stuff he pulled out in such a short time was impressive, and it would explain the level of magic used to possess others. But if he could do it in such a short time, he could have given him the papers with this information weeks ago. As if reading his mind, Rhys spoke, "Let us help you get her and the kids back, and then you're free to step away from your position as my spymaster." The words drilled holes in Azriel's already bleeding heart, "I should have taken action sooner. I failed you and your family." Azriel lifted his hand, silencing his high lord. "Two entrances are unguarded. Your job is to get the kids and take them away from that place", the cold tone Azriel used felt wrong, but he couldn't do this now. Azriel's priorities no longer lay with Rhys. No longer lay with his court.
You were humming an old Illyrian lullaby when the doors to the dungeon creaked open and in strolled Padme, accompanied by at least four guards. "I hope you're enjoying your fantasy now," she said with that same cold smile on her lips. "You bitch," you spat her way, throwing all of your weight at the iron bars. "Pick your words wisely, child. I have power over you", she said, standing right in front of you now, looking you over as if you were nothing more than a speck of dirt beneath her shoes. "I trusted you," you said through gritted teeth, "You said...", "That I cared? That I will keep you safe," Padme cut you off, "The same thing your supposed lover is saying to you now. Look where my love brought you; want to see where he will take you?" She stepped over so quickly you didn't even notice when her claws had dug in the hack of your scalp, that same demonic face flashing right in front of you.
Then flames erupted all around you. All of the Velaris was up in flames. Houses falling. People were trying to crawl from beneath the debris. You ran forward, trying to help a woman free her leg, but the moment you approached, she screamed out in panic, trying to move away from you. You shook your head. "Do you want this?", Padme's voice rang all around you. "You are going to be so selfish and end so many lives just because you think someone can finally love you," her laugh echoed, chipping even more of your already frozen-over heart. "I kept you safe. It is I who truly knows how to love a creature like you". Your head fell back as the priestess pulled her blood-coated nails away from you, licking the very tips, "You always belonged with me." Your eyes locked on her dark orbs. You've never seen them in their true colors before.
"That's a lie! Azriel loves us; we're a family," Axel's voice rang out, making you blink, "Tell her, YN, we'll always be together." Padme turned to the boy, yanking the cell door open as she stepped in. "No," you breathed out, reaching for them. "Say that again, boy," her hand wrapped around his neck as she lifted him from the ground, Zofie's frail body slipping out of his hand, awkwardly filling the cold floor. "No, Padme, let him go," you pleaded. You were not letting them go through the same torture you had already endured. "He loves her," Axel said firmly, even if he was slowly losing oxygen. "I'll do whatever you want, but you have to promise you will not hurt them, Pad," you said so quickly that you could barely make out your own words.
The priestess's head turned toward you, a vicious smile spreading across her face. "Return them safely to Azriel, and I will do whatever you want," you pleaded. Padem simply let go of Axel. "Very well," she said happily. "I'll drop them off at that old lady's house," You nodded along with her words. Cordelia will look after them for now. She'll explain it all to them. Take good care of Zofie until she can once again lay in Azriel's arms. "But you, my dear," Padme mustered, "You owe me your heart, especially the part of it that belongs to the shadowsinger." Your vision blurred as her words settled in. A part. There wasn't just a part. All of it was Azriel's. You had given it to him that night outside his mother's house. He had it ever since.
Azriel had his finger pressed to his lips as he once again came into contact with a small group of terrified females, slowly gesturing for them to exit the place. Knowing well that Rhys would guide them out of the building. One of them had already told them how to get to the lower floors of the sanctuary. Azriel would find you. He'll take you home. He rounded the familiar corner. He was trying to be as quiet as he possibly could. It was strange to think that he had lived here for a bit. He had met his other missing part between these walls, which made him nothing but sick now.
Down the corridor. Into the main communal hall, and then right on the left corner, Azriel stopped. There was no way. No, there was no way this couldn't be it. His eyes instantly darted up, looking for anyone planning an attack from up above, but he saw no one, and his shadows sensed nothing.
"Y/n," he breathed out, and you instantly turned around. Your dress was dirty and damp, and there was blood running down the back of your neck, mixing in with your light hair. Blood. Azriel crossed the distance between the two of you in a couple of steps. "Why are you here? Did you kill her?", he carefully cupped your face as he looked you over. Your lip trembled. "Love," Azriel breathed. "The kids are at your mother's. I got them out, but you need to leave," the last word was choked out, and you quickly covered your mouth. Trying to fight your emotions. Azriel pulled at your hand, but you quickly pulled back. "You need to leave me behind," you whispered. "That will never happen," the spymaster said firmly.
"Azriel, I will lose control again. I will burn the city down. I saw it", you shook your head, trying to chase the images away. "I will burn it for you if you give up on us," Azriel said harshly, but his touch still stayed nothing but soft.
"I'm not giving up on us," you whispered so quietly. You promised to push him away. Make him leave you so the kids will be safe. Be safe with him. They didn't need you. But you couldn't lie to him. You'll make him leave you behind in some other way. But Azriel cupped your face with both hands and said, "I waited for you my whole life. You are everything I ever wanted and more. I can only breathe when I'm with you, Y/n. You are my everything. If you are not with me, I don't want to live." His honest words pulled a light sob from your lips. "Azriel, I...", you breathed right as an arrow pierced Azriel's shoulder. The spymaster hissed as he turned back, trying to find the source of the attack.
"No," you shouted, but Azriel was already shielding you while an arrow after an arrow pierced his skin and wings. A roar slipped past his lips, but he stood unmoving, using his body like a shield. "No, let me," you breathed out as you tried to pull him away but... The room died down quickly, and you watched as Azriel slowly sank to his knees.
"Azriel," you followed suit, cupping his face in your hands. His lips were tinted red. No, they couldn't be. No, this couldn't be happening. Azriel moved one of his hands up as he grasped your forearm firmly. "You belong to no one," he said, pausing to take a breath between each word, "Don't let them control you any longer." His grip loosened, and his hazy eyes only focused on you. "No, Az. Azriel! Look at me, Azriel", you bagged, tapping his face lightly, trying to keep him awake.
"And so the story ends," Padme said, moving from behind one of the columns with a pleased smile on her lips. "What did you do? What did you do?", you shouted at her. "I saved the world, child," she said, raising her hands in delight. Her laughter filled the space, but your eyes were already back on your mate. "Azriel, look at me," you pressed your hands against him, trying to flicker at least some of your magic on, but you couldn't seem to get a hold of it. The spymaster smiled slightly, grasping your hand in his. "I'll see you on the other side," he muttered. You choked out a cry. "No, no, you will not," you said angrily. "Azriel," his name was like a prayer on your lips. You felt the last bits of the bond slowly flicker out as an overwhelming pain crawled all over you. Time slowed as you watched Azriel's eyes slowly droop.
But then your deathly glare rose to meet Padme's satisfied gaze. "What did you do?", the scream ripped through. Ignited even more by the pain of feeling Azriel slipping away, the cry seemed never-ending. You heard glass breaking. The cracking of the chipping stone. You saw nothing but white rage. Pulling one of the arrows out of Azriel's body, you pointed it at Padem. "I will be your worst nightmare," you said through gritted teeth. Your body didn't feel like your own as you logged the arrow. And it hit Padme straight in her heart with the speed you'd never thought you could muster.
That same itching feeling in your throat started once more. The same one you felt when they ripped your wings off. The sanctuary was slowly falling apart. The females rushed to get out, but you couldn't bring yourself to care anymore as you pulled Azriel's head over your lap. There was so much blood everywhere. Too much blood. The tears fell freely down your face in a never-ending stream.
You moved your hands over Azriel's heart, watching as your hands disappeared within the light you possessed. But it didn't seem to work. "Y/n," you heard Rhys's shaky voice. "Get out," you barked out. The high lord still tried to step closer, but you hissed at him, "Get out, Rhys, and take the ones you can with you." You felt the last bits of your self-control failing. He only held your gaze for a moment before he winnowed away.
A sob slipped past your lips as you cupped Azriel's face, leaning over to kiss his cold lips. Time slowed once more. The static felt unbearable. One heartbeat. Two. Three. Four. And it all erupts with a sob like no other. You felt blood trickling down your ears as all of your being clawed at your fragile body. The light was blinding. So was the warmth that followed it. It felt like forever. The sizzling of your skin eased as the snow slowly fell upon you two. You blinked a couple of times. Pouring whatever was left into Azriel until your hands slipped off his chest and your body sagged on top of his.
The first thing he felt was coldness. Then the snowflakes fell on his face. His body also felt heavy. Like it had never felt before. The gray sky was all around him as he opened his eyes. His mind felt numb. For a moment, he had no idea why he was lying there in the first place. Until it all came tumbling down. One image after the other. The sanctuary. You. Arrows. Was this what the other side looked like because, shit, it was grim. Azriel shifted slightly, halting when his hand hit something. Something that was sprawled out across him.
He sat up so fast that your body rolled down to his lap. No. "Y/n," he said, wrapping his arms around your body and hissing at the coldness of it. "My love," he muttered, flexing his stiff wings. They had to be torn. Azriel turned. Not a single cut was on them. Not a single arrow was in his flesh. You've melted it away and healed him. "Love," he called out desperately, "Open your eyes." You couldn't die. He couldn't have just been here, lying unconscious, while you slowly faded from this world.
Azriel's eyes darted across the fallen sanctuary walls. Blood on the white stone. Padme's body was not far away from where you two were. Only the outskirts of the city looked burned to the ground, but there was no doubt that Rhys knew that something like this was coming. Azriel shook his head as he pressed his forehead to yours. "You promised me forever, love," he said softly, "I'm calling in my bargain now." Azriel carefully brushed his lips over yours, and the faintest of thuds echoed in your hallowed-out chest.

Heyoo!! I was wondering if I could request A, D, F, K, L, P, Q, T and X for Angel Dust x reader for the Hazbin fluff alphabet? Thank you!!!💕
A, D, F, K, L, P, Q, T, and X for Angel Dust
I hope this one is okay, I feel Angel may be another character I'll have difficulty catching right, but nonetheless I hope you enjoy, Anon!
Apologies for such a short note, I'm getting another headache coming on.. I think I will write out this post and rest.
For the Tunes segment I would like to apologize for having a trash taste in music, I naturally gravitate to songs I already know with these kinds of questions..
Tumblr media
ATTRACTION:
This one is very tricky, given that Angel throws himself at any guy he sees. Though, that's because he feels it's what is expected of him, is it not? At least gathering from his wiki as well as his actions within the series... Pinpointing his type is a little difficult and what he knows he's attracted to. But what about subconscious attraction? He needs someone who's willing to deal with his sarcasm and meanness, but won't totally blow him off. But he also needs someone he can just unwind with, you know? Very hard to say, and comparing how he acts with the rest of the cast is offering little idea.. Definitely going to need to be patient with this one, too, but that's not exactly an attraction thing.. hmm..
DATES:
A club may be his first go to, especially if this before he starts taking the redemption thing seriously. Though, that's not exactly the best date idea now is it? You go there to get drunk or take enough substances to not think straight for the next week; or to fuck. Sure, you can bond with someone over a shot, but is it really.. genuine? Add in he might be stressing over you like he did with Niffty if this is within the second half of the show's current timeline, and you get drunk before he can.. No, my mind keeps wandering to the two of you simply having an at home date. Together, at your place or yours. If it takes place at the hotel he takes you to his room. Less of a date as it is a hangout session, and he might try to initiate sex.. More experienced with intercourse than the romance side of things, so that's going to take time too.
FAMILY:
Sinners can't have biological children of his own, but Angel Dust is fine by that. Perhaps he feels responsible for a moment and admits (likely internally) that he can hardly keep an eye on himself, how can he keep an eye on a child? There's also some level of fear that the kid would follow in his foot steps and end up in a nasty situation, Angel knows he's not exactly the best.. role model. He's more likely to ascend than be a father.
KISSES:
Oh he loves physical affection. Sure, a lot of it is going to be sexually charged. Diving into the romance vs sex side of things, it may take him a while to fully get a grasp on the difference between lustful feelings and romantic ones and how to act them out. Not all kisses and cuddle sessions need to end in intercourse. He loves giving you quick kisses, long kisses, kisses with tongue, kisses without tongue. He's not picky at all. His favorite place to kiss you is really anywhere on your face... but if you give him the chance he'll say his favorite place is more... down south
As for receiving, I think he stands at around the same.. point.. Yeah, point! Not picky when it comes to him getting affection!
PETNAMES:
He calls you everything under the sun. From schnookums to Honey, you've heard it all. He defaults to Baby and Babe, though. Tends to replace your name with something endearing unless there's something serious going on or he's trying to get your attention. Similar to the above segment he's not picky about what you call him, but he does seem to get this look in his eye if you call him something rather sweet and innocent.
QUESTION:
Oooo this ones tough....
He asks what your favorite position is/j
No, but real talk, I think if you two were alone and you're in his room... perhaps in one of your hangouts... he might let his walls slip a bit, ask you some real.. personal stuff, perhaps seeking some sort of validation or even reassurance. This is more likely after a rough day and after a drink or two.
TUNES:
Perhaps I'm biased because I've been getting back into Maneskin but I can imagine you two absolutely BELTING it to this song! Not exactly a "couple song" per say, but definitely a song that you two vibe with together!
youtube
As well as this song, for the same reasons above
youtube
Though I'm also picturing the Reader and Angel drunkingly singing Tally Hall's version of Just A Friend (while the pair are giggling and getting way into it, you know just having a good time!)
youtube
XRAY:
It depends on how long you two have known each other. Are you guys a quick fling that fell together fast, or were you both a slow burn? If your relationship formed quickly, he may be a little stumped on reading you.. which can sometimes lead to him being a little insensitive to your feelings and vibe. Or awkwardly standing there unsure of how to approach you, likely slinking away to let you handle it on your own. But in something that had left more time for the two of you to get to know one another, he's going to let you vent and complain to him. He can tell somethings off with just the tone of your voice or if your wording is a little off. You two aren't totally in sync, but he's not as clueless as the former.

Yandere!(Y/N), who falls in love with Gojo the first time she sees him at a meeting of all the sorcerer families. She stands behind the children of the ruling branch of the family and peeks over their shoulders to look at the "great heir of the Gojo clan". As soon as their eyes meet, she giggles in embarrassment and starts looking at the floor, feeling her heart start pounding faster.
Yandere!(Y/N), who was never taken seriously and especially didn't want anything. An ordinary child who was made into a servant for more "promising family members". She should have lived a quiet and boring life somewhere closer to the "bottom", but as soon as her eyes met the sky balls, she couldn't help but think, " What a cute boy… I feel like I can't stop looking at him."
Yandere!(Y/N), who tries to find Gojo with her eyes every time she and her "master" visit the Gojo estate. Just looking at a beautiful boy makes (Y/N) feel confused and feel her heart beating faster. In her ordinary, boring life, there was finally something she truly wanted.
Yandere!(Y/N), who is looking for any ways to see the cute face of her beloved boy again. A heavy box of weapons should be delivered to his estate? (Y/N) ready to help! The wife of the head of the family goes to Gojo`s to arrange a marriage with her daughter? (Y/N) is already carrying a coat and a bag with all the necessary things for her! Is the heir of her family looking for a friend to train with? "Master, Satoru Gojo-sama is the best choice!"
Yandere!(Y/N), for whom it is not enough just to look at the boy. She's looking for ways to get closer to him.
Yandere!(Y/N), who suddenly realizes that she has no other desires than to make Gojo laugh. She wants to be close to him, hug his small body, poke his chubby baby cheeks and eat sweets with him! Any hobbies that used to somehow brighten up her life as a "non-talented sorcerer" fade into the background when (Y/N) begins to do everything to become stronger.
Yandere!(Y/N), who spends days and nights trying to stop being a "servant" and become a "full member of the family". In a small child's head, plans appear that are too cruel and complex to be invented by an ordinary, adequate child.
Yandere!(Y/N), who smiles at Gojo every time she and her "master" arrive at his manor. She secretly leaves sweet gifts for her beloved boy. She always bakes them herself, with thoughts of him, of his wonderful smile. But even when she sees the fruits of her own labor in the trash, all she feels is that her heart is pounding faster. "He noticed me. I just need to get better so that I can meet his needs and high demands."
Yandere!(Y/N), who whispers nasty things in her "master's" ear every time they return to their manor. "Master, let me fix your clothes. I've heard from the maids that you look very untidy for a family heir. They say you're a disgrace to Gojo-sama by being around him." "Master, I have written down what you will need to repeat for the next meeting. You made a lot of mistakes in the tasks. I hope Gojo-sama wasn't disappointed in you as much as sensei was." "Master, I heard that Gojo-sama hates cats. This explains why he has this face every time you talk about the Princess-sama. I think you need to find another topic to talk about with him."
Yandere!(Y/N), who secretly smiles as she watches two young sorcerers yell at each other. She's enjoying Gojo's loud voice, a fight with whom was the expected outcome after everything (Y/N) said to her master. All this time, she was just waiting for her words-firewood to ignite a flash of hatred.
Yandere!(Y/N), who doesn't go to comfort her master after they get home. She goes to the head of the family to "beg for his forgiveness." She bumps her forehead against the floor, trying to hide her smile. "I'm d-deeply sorry, my master! I should have kept a better eye on the young master, then he wouldn't have fallen out with the heir of the Gojo clan! I'm begging you, let me go there and apologize for our entire family! I will accept whatever punishment they have prepared for young master or our entire family!"
Yandere!(Y/N), who almost faints when she sees Gojo's look of discontent and disdain. "H-he... he's only looking at me! All his attention... is mine!" She sits on her knees and begs for forgiveness, and when there's a long pause, she looks up, only to see the question in the heavenly eyes that she likes so much. "I don't care about that jerk. You'd better tell me... were you the one who made all those cookies that the maids threw away?"
Yandere!(Y/N), who promises to bury the maids and those who gave them such an order alive in the ground. Her heart breaks when she finds out that her favorite boy didn't eat her cookies not because he didn't like them. She quietly admits that it's really her who's been making sweets all this time.
Yandere!(Y/N), who blushes profusely and almost faints when her cute boy kneels in front of her, leans close to her ear and whispers softly: "I'll invite your stupid master here again if you bring me some chocolate chip cookies."
Yandere!(Y/N), who bites the sleeve of her yukata as she walks to the car so as not to yell at the entire estate. She feels happy tears appear in her eyes, and her face is the same color as the blood that has just been spilled. "He was so close to me! And he only talked to me! And his breath! His breath smells so good!.."
Yandere!(Y/N), who shows the head of her family that she is no longer the "useless girl" that she was. She becomes a full-fledged member of the family and begins to train with normal teachers. And even if that wasn't her ultimate goal, she's glad that other sorcerers are beginning to respect her now.
Yandere!(Y/N), who brings Gojo the most delicious and fresh cookies she can make. She watches with rosy cheeks as her beloved boy enjoys sweets and giggles softly with happiness. "He doesn't need to know that I put some of my own saliva in it."
Yandere!(Y/N), from whom Gojo asks for more sweet snacks because he really liked the previous ones. "It's so delicious! What's your secret?" "I just added a little of my love... of cooking."
Yandere!(Y/N), who regretfully says that she can't see him often because she now attends training sessions. Her cute boy is so in love with her cooking that he asks her to come train with him instead of her young master.
Yandere!(Y/N), who bites her lip until it bleeds to keep from laughing with happiness. When she's in the car, she bites through her sleeve because she's gripping it too hard with her teeth. She feels like her heart is about to jump out of her chest with happiness.
Yandere!(Y/N), who constantly goes to Gojo with sweets to train with him. She can't focus on what the teacher is saying because she's constantly looking at her favorite boy. "He's so close! My heart is beating too loud! When we hugged, I could smell his clothes and neck! It smells so good! And those eyes? They are so beautiful! And this skin? So soft and pleasant to touch! I want to hug him and not let go!"
Yandere!(Y/N), who can't hide her joy when Gojo reveals that he wants her to move into his estate. "I'm tired of waiting for my cookies! I want you to make sweets for me every day! You can be my playmate... or something like that."
Yandere!(Y/N), who smiles widely and blushes when she hears these words. She instantly covers her face and tries to hide her genuine reaction, but Gojo grabs her hands and forces her to look at him. Her heart is about to explode at the cute expression she sees in front of her. Her favorite boy sticks out his tongue and squeezes his eyes shut like a kitten when he says, "You'd better hurry up and agree before I want you to be my maid."
Yandere!(Y/N), who would love to become a maid to touch Gojo's clothes (which he will only be wearing or has already worn), help him change, bring him food, and comb his hair. But if she can become his friend and eventually start hugging him, then (Y/N) won't turn down the opportunity!
Yandere!(Y/N), who finds the maids who threw away her sweets and does everything possible to get them fired without reference. When she talks to them before and hears something like "we were worried about Gojo-sama's safety", she suddenly realizes that she doesn't feel anything. She doesn't care about the fate of other people at all, as long as it's not her favorite boy.
Yandere!(Y/N), who spends her childhood near Gojo. They eat, play, study, and sometimes sleep together. ((Y/N) always sniffs the little sorcerer's hair and admires how he, the boy, always smells delicious). Gradually (Y/N) calms down and begins to control her emotions around Gojo, she no longer smiles or laughs like a maniac when he praises her after school or calls her to play in the garden. She just smiles beautifully and blushes every time the boy is around.
Yandere!(Y/N), who makes the same wishes for every holiday. "I want Gojo-kun to be happy." "I want me and Gojo-kun to have another good year together." "I want Gojo-kun to hug me more often."
Yandere!(Y/N), who feels that even the skin of her head turns red when she mentally utters her most cherished dream when she turns fourteen: "I w-want... I want to be Gojo-kun`s wife..."
Yandere!(Y/N), who always pretends to be a cute girl in front of Gojo's parents, elders, and servants in the manor. She smiles and says hello, is always polite and hardworking, apologizes and is never rude. With every smile she gives to people she doesn't like or love, something bright dies in her, leaving only emptiness. A void that only Satoru Gojo can fill.
Yandere!(Y/N), who decides that it doesn't need anyone but "the best". With each passing year that she spends side by side with Gojo, she realizes that she will never, ever find someone like him again. Satoru Gojo is too perfect to be true. (Y/N) admires his looks, strength, abilities, techniques, and of course, charming personality! She knows she's in love, but it's not really love.
Yandere!(Y/N), whose silly childish wish "I want to look at him forever" turns into "I only want him to be mine." "I will treat him the way he deserves to be treated. He's a god. And I will pray for him for the rest of my life… How nice it would be... for your god to be yours alone."
Yandere!(Y/N), who shares Gojo's hatred of the elders, even though she doesn't really care about them at all. (Although she is grateful that they exist, because they are part of her plan.) She criticizes their decisions and always finds disadvantages in everything they do. When she meets old people, she always supports them, shows them her best personality traits to make them believe that she is the perfect person to keep as close to Gojo as possible.
Yandere!(Y/N), who even stops sniffing the handkerchief she stole from Gojo when she learns the unexpected news. She looks at the girl who has been sent to be the bride of her beloved boy with a twitching eye.
Yandere!(Y/N), who greets her with a big smile and gives her a tour of the estate. She quickly learns that the "bride" is from faraway lands and has never actually left her estate. "Everything around you may be strange, but don't worry! I'm here to help you! I'm Gojo-kun's best friend, so I have to take care of his fiancee!"
Yandere!(Y/N), who feels nothing when she watches her boy's fiancee get eaten alive by a curse. As she stands there with the cursed tool in her hands, something finally dies inside her. But she even likes it. She hears the screams and pleas for help and only closes her eyes. "I wonder what Gojo-kun is doing?"
Yandere!(Y/N), who gets rid of the other "brides" and leaves no traces behind. Poisoned. Thrown off a cliff. Destroyed by a curse. Driven mad by moral pressure. Cut into small pieces and buried on the other side of the city. No one can even assume that the "good girl (Y/N)" is to blame for their deaths.
Yandere!(Y/N), who calms Gojo, who is clearly in shock from the deaths that have occurred. "You're not cursed, Gojo-kun. Maybe fate is just trying to give you a sign? You deserve better! Besides, you're too young to get married! Let's run away after curfew and eat some ramen instead of worries!"
Yandere!(Y/N), who rejects marriage proposals from sorcerers from other families. She even breaks one newcomer's arm because he refused to leave. "How, how dare you think you're better than Gojo-kun?!"
Yandere!(Y/N), who almost dies when she realizes that her favorite boy-(teenager) has been watching her humiliate the "possible groom" all this time. "If he finds out, t-that I killed all those girls!.. He'll never, ever want to be with me! What if he thinks I'm being too rude? If he gives up on me and I can never be his wife?!."
Yandere!(Y/N), who lets out a sigh of relief when Gojo laughs at her "fiance" and calls him a "weakling".
Yandere!(Y/N), who goes to school with her favorite boy so that he "doesn't get too bored". In fact, she's going to keep an eye on him... and not just at the request of the elders.
Yandere!(Y/N), who easily wins the hearts of teachers and her classmates thanks to the "good girl" mask she has developed over the years. Now no one will guess if she leaves someone from the staff or students of the school to be eaten by a curse.
Yandere!(Y/N), who sneaks into Gojo's room every day to play games with him, read and sleep together. She assures him that she just missed him during the day. And even if that's partly true, she uses this time to sniff his sheets and clothes, touch his skin and hair, steal a few items here and there while the sorcerer runs to the store for snacks.
Yandere!(Y/N), who starts hugging Gojo in the middle of the day because "I love my friends so much!". Everyone is used to the fact that she behaves like a cute teenager, and therefore does not comment on what is happening. The young sorcerer only laughs and circles (Y/N) around his axis as he holds her tightly in his arms.
Yandere!(Y/N), who secretly takes photos of her beloved boy as he falls asleep on her shoulder, lap, or chest. She has a separate suitcase from which she made a portable altar in honor of Satoru Gojo. There are many photos of him, objects that he touched with his lips, as well as his personal belongings, such as underwear.
Yandere!(Y/N), who is always there for Gojo when something upsets him. (She won't tell anyone that she watches him every spare second of her time, so she knows exactly when he's sad, lonely, or down.)
Yandere!(Y/N), who shares her first kiss with Gojo, who wants to know how people feel when they kiss. This happens at the next "sleepover", the sorcerer suddenly asks a question that makes (Y/N) blush very much and hide more strongly behind the book. She feels like her lungs are about to burst from how hard her heart is beating.
Yandere!(Y/N), who doesn't close her eyes when Gojo leans in and kisses her. She would never forget that moment when they kissed in the light of a single candle so that they wouldn't be caught by the teachers. (Y/N) quickly licks her lips as soon as the sorcerer turns away in embarrassment.
Yandere!(Y/N), who then wants to feel more of her favorite boy. She says they could try different things before getting into a "real adult romantic relationship" so it wouldn't be so awkward. Gojo agrees with a small nod, and (Y/N) can't contain her joy, jumping on top of him and hugging him with a happy laugh.
Yandere!(Y/N), who treats Gojo like they're boyfriend and girlfriend. Everyone thinks their relationship hasn't changed, but it's not true. Yes, she still brings him food, takes care of his health, and does weird, funny things with him that annoy other people, but that's not all. (Y/N) kisses him on the lips and cheeks whenever she can, she hugs him and lets him touch her where "friends" can't touch each other.
Yandere!(Y/N), who is happy to share her first time with Gojo. She would welcome any treatment of her body as long as it was done by her favorite sorcerer, but her heart melts when she sees an insecure Gojo standing over her, gently touching her body and asking if he's hurting her.
Yandere!(Y/N), whose love reaches its peak. When Gojo falls asleep on her chest, exhausted from his first time, she leans over and whispers into his hair, "One day I'll be your wife and we'll have lots and lots of babies. I won't accept any other outcome after what we've done."
Yandere!(Y/N), who manipulates the elders who trust her after so many years. She says that all the brides they have chosen for Gojo are not suitable for him, that they will disgrace the clan or be bad wives. She makes incredible arguments every time, the old people just can't argue with her.
Yandere!(Y/N), who easily hides her joy when the elders offer her to be a bride for Gojo. She just hums softly, bows to them, and says, "If it allows his clan and the world to flourish."
Yandere!(Y/N), who walks around with a big smile all week, hugs Gojo and can't stop being happy, as soon her favorite boy will belong to her and only her. When people ask her what happened, she just says that she has a premonition of something good.
Yandere!(Y/N), who pretends to be genuinely surprised when she learns of the elders' choice. She watches with a slightly heavy heart as Gojo shouts curses at the old men and hits the walls. However, (Y/N) calms down as soon as she hears that her cute boy is just afraid that she will die just like the previous brides.
Yandere!(Y/N), who hugs him and comforts him, promises that she will live, live for him.
Yandere!(Y/N), who listens blankly as Gojo says that he will do anything to cancel this engagement. "I want you to be happily married to the person you truly love, (Y/N)-chan! What the hell are these old farts doing deciding who you should marry?!"
Yandere!(Y/N), who asks Gojo's mother, who loves her very much, to hurry up the wedding so that her cute boy doesn't have time to ruin anything. The woman who has always dreamed that her son would find a loving and understanding bride, easily agrees. After all, this is (Y/N), their "sweet good girl"!
Yandere!(Y/N), who hides a smirk in a thick veil as she walks down the aisle to Gojo, who blushes and looks embarrassed. "It looks like someone isn't telling me how they feel, my dear." (Y/N) enjoys his shyness and gives him a loving kiss when the time comes.
Yandere!(Y/N), who sits on the bed and smiles inwardly as Gojo stomps angrily next to her, in the large bedroom that was given to the newlyweds. "H-how could they force us to get married so early?! Have they gone completely mad? Ha, these old men, I'll kill them, I'll kill them..."
Yandere!(Y/N), who slaps her knees, stopping Gojo and asking him to calm down, lie down in a familiar place and just enjoy a head massage. Her favorite boy agrees, hurries to sit on the bed and put his head with this silk hair on (Y/N)`s lap.
Yandere!(Y/N), who gradually begins to touch his body in a less innocent way, until eventually she hears those pleasant moans that always delight her ear so much. "I want him to experience pleasure and happiness. I want to be the cause of these feelings."
Yandere!(Y/N), who ends up on top of Gojo, kissing him the way she always wanted to. Her heart sings with love for the man who made her get better and worse at the same time. She kisses him with her tongue, passing along with her saliva an aphrodisiac that she surreptitiously took into her mouth while Gojo was lying on her lap.
Yandere!(Y/N), who makes her beloved boy forget about all the problems and takes control of the situation by removing a heavy, expensive kimono from his shoulders. She covers his skin with fleeting kisses before starting to leave her little marks here and there. "He's so beautiful… But he will be even more beautiful if everyone knows that he is mine."
Yandere!(Y/N), who doesn't use any protection during their wedding night because she wants to feel her lover. When Gojo, oblivious to lust and passion, finishes for the first time that night, (Y/N) just smiles and giggles, glancing at the calendar. Now is the best time to have a baby.
Yandere!(Y/N), who looks calmly at Gojo, who gets up in the morning and stares in horror at what's left of their night. While the sorcerer yells that he will kill the elders because "they put an aphrodisiac in our drinks!", (Y/N) hopes that she was able to get pregnant with his child.
Yandere!(Y/N), who sends Gojo's parents on a short vacation so that she and her husband can "try themselves as clan leaders."
Yandere!(Y/N), who kills the elders since they are now useless. Plus, they're causing problems for her husband! They deserve the cruelest possible death for making her beloved boy frown! What if it causes wrinkles? Unacceptable!
Yandere!(Y/N), who announces her pregnancy and finally tells the most important person in her life that she loves him. Everyone in the manor loves her, Gojo's parents are also crazy about her, she has a strong technique, and her family is relatively well-known, so there's no point in her breaking up this marriage anyway. (Y/N) is ready for rejection, but she still hopes that her cute boy will make the right choice.
Yandere!(Y/N), who pats Gojo on the back and comforts him as he hugs her and sobs into her shoulder. "I al-lso… I love you too! This child... I will do anything to protect our little one!.. And you, my dear."
Yandere!(Y/N), who a few years later kisses the cheek of her son, who is a complete copy of her husband. Gojo walks next to her and complains, saying that he would like his child to be at least a little like his mother. She looks at her husband, kisses him on the cheek, and says with a chuckle:: "I'll give you as many babies as you want. I want to create a big family with you, full of happiness, joy and love." "But you will still love me, your wonderful husband, right?" (Y/N) smiles, pressing her cheek to the forehead of her son, whom she loves incredibly much, because he is not just the child of her and her beloved boy, but also a complete copy of her husband. "Of course, Satoru-chan. I will love you more than anything else in the world."
Yandere!(Y/N), who, despite the "quiet life", catches every curse, every sorcerer who dared to offend her husband or just cross his path. Even if her husband is the most powerful sorcerer, she won't allow anyone, anyone, anyone to treat him other than as a god.
Because yandere!(Y/N) loves nothing more than her cute little boy.

Eddie stood there frozen in place, tears streaming down his cheeks. He experienced heartbreak before but not like this.
His heart broke when his mom died.
His heart broke when his father left him.
His heart broke when friends betrayed him and turned against him when he was a young boy.
His heart broke when Chrissy cheated on him.
But his heart has never been in such pain the way it is right now. Deep down, he always knew that this would happen. Even if he had left her before you found out, you would have still found out about it at some point. What was he thinking?
To know that he was the one to ruin it all, makes the pain even worse. He was never one to be confident in himself– despite the act that he put on. He was insecure, unsure of himself and the self love was lacking too, perhaps that is why he forgave Chrissy after she had betrayed him.
He didn’t think that he would find anyone that would be willing to be with him again, to stay with him. No one ever showed any interest in him, no one ever looked at him the way they looked at Steve Harrington, no one ever admired him, no one ever tried to flirt with him, no one ever asked him out.
If anything, all they did was look at him in disgust and whisper behind his back. The giggles and the mean looks left an impact on him, it still hurt to think back on it– even now that he was somewhat famous and the girls were begging for his attention, he didn’t take any of them seriously, they only want him now because he is a known rockstar– not to mention that he doesn’t care about the girls that are just begging to be touched by him. There is only one girl that he wants and that is you– not Chrissy, not the other girls, just you.
But he ruined it, he broke your heart in a way he never wanted to and he doesn’t know how to fix it or if you will ever let him.
He wipes his tears away. His cheek still stings from Chrissy’s slap.
Chrissy.
He needs to leave her, he needs to break up with her. He has been dragging this on for long enough already.
He makes his way to his hotel room, mind only focused on one thing; you. He doesn’t care about how his conversation with Chrissy will go, he just wants it to be over with but when he gets to his room, hoping to find her there, he finds it empty. She is gone and so are her things, the only thing she left behind is a note that she wrote for him.
We’ll talk about this when you’re back in Hawkins.
-Chrissy
“Fuck,” he mumbles as he stares at her handwriting.
It’s over.
It’s over for them.
What else is there to talk about?
Eddie refused to touch her last night, he even refused to kiss her, feeling like he was cheating on you when he touched her. It was bad enough that she snuggled into his arms at night. Her touch felt foreign now and it left him with nothing but a coldness in his heart. It wasn’t the same, she is not you.
Two years ago, he would have kept her note, today he throws it in the trash.
Sitting down on the bed, he leans his elbows on his knees and buries his face in his hands.
How could everything go wrong so fast?
‘I'll stay for the rest of the tour but the moment it's over, the moment we're back in LA, I'm out and I never want to see you again after this, Eddie.’
The thought of you leaving, breaks his heart even more. He can’t stand the thought of living a life without you.
-
You’re the first one on the bus, sitting on the leather seats in the lounge area, you stare at the tour diary with a scowl on your face, the memory of the first tour day leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
You feel ridiculous, you feel like a fool for believing Eddie and the others so blindly.
“Hey.”
You look up to find Jeff walking towards you, a guilt look resting on his face as your eyes lock.
You nod at him before you turn away, pulling your knees up to your chest, you look out of the window. Eddie and Rob are still outside, talking to each other as they smoke their last cigarette before getting on the bus.
Jeff sighs, sitting down next to you.
“Y/n,” he says softly, “I’m so sorry.”
You shake your head, “what exactly are you sorry for?”
“Everything. I-I should’ve told you about her. I told him that he shouldn’t keep that from you, that he should be honest– from the start but he.. he was an idiot.”
You scoff at his words, “yeah he is,” you nod, “why didn’t you tell me?” you ask as you finally turn back to look at your friend.
“I was hoping that he would tell you.”
“Oh come on, Jeff,” you mumble, “you all kept it from me, none of you ever mentioned her, he didn’t, you didn’t and I think we all know why.”
Jeff shakes his head, furrowing his brows at your words.
“What do you mean?”
“You were all using me– my family name for this,” you gesture to the tour bus, “this is why you all kept the truth from me. You only wanted me for one reason, for this band, so the label wouldn’t drop you and while you were at it, you all decided to make a big joke out of me too, letting Eddie play with me, with my fucking feelings.”
“What? No!” he shakes his head as he stares at you with a shocked look in his eyes, “y/n, no! That’s not what happened, like at all!”
“No one and I mean no one used you! Not me, not the others, not Eddie!” he exclaims, “shit, Eddie didn’t even know who you were until after you joined the band, he didn’t know who your dad was!”
The angry look on your face falters a little.
“He didn’t?”
Jeff shakes his head, “no, he found out after you joined our first meeting with Sam, when you were already in the band! Sam told him– shit, Eddie was surprised when he found out! His uncle, Wayne, is obsessed with your dad’s music,” he says, “but Eddie wanted you in the band from the start, without knowing who you were. I mean, we were the skeptic ones, we didn’t want another addition to the band, we thought we were good enough but Eddie convinced us to let you join us the day before we practiced together for the first time and we are pretty fucking happy that he did because you did make the band better and now we have all of this, thanks to you! You mean a lot to all of us, you’re not just a friend, you’re family, y/n.”
Family. You’ve lost family before and despite the anger that you were feeling since yesterday, despite wanting nothing more than to disappear, you don’t want to leave this family even if that would be best for you.
“But you don’t hurt your family,” you mumble, playing with your fingers as you look away from him.
Jeff looks at you with sadness and regret in his eyes. He had enough chances to tell you about Chrissy and yet he kept it from you just the way Eddie did.
“I’m really sorry. I wanted to tell you but I’ve had faith in Eddie,” he mumbles regretfully, “that was dumb.”
You snort at his words, “yes it was.”
“I get if you wanna keep your distance from us but uh just know that we all care a lot about you. He does too, even if you don’t believe it.”
You look back at him with an irritated look in your eyes, “how can I? He knew what would happen, he led me on all this time. If he cared about me, he wouldn’t have done this to me. He wouldn’t keep his girlfriend a secret and lead me on all these months!”
“He is not happy with her–”
You scoff, shaking your head. You clench your jaw, the anger inside of you coming back at his words.
“Oh, so he used me to make himself feel better–”
“No–”
“Yes! If he was so unhappy with her, he could have left her but he didn’t and he is still with her even after everything so don’t sit here and tell me that he cares about me because he doesn’t. He never cared about me, he never wanted me, he never had any fucking feelings for me. I was nothing but a fucking placeholder– the moment she was back, he spent the night with her, would someone who cares about me do that?”
Jeff sighs sadly, looking down with the same guilt as before in his eyes as he shakes his head slowly, unable to look into your glassy eyes.
“Right,” you scoff angrily, “I’m so fucking stupid, I’m such a fool,” you laugh, shaking your head.
“You weren’t stupid and you’re not a fool, y/n. Please don’t say that.”
Your head snaps up at the sound of Gareth’s voice, his eyes are filled with just as much guilt as in Jeff’s eyes.
You rise to your feet and take a deep breath as you look up at the ceiling, “yes, I am,” you mumble, “I’m a fucking fool for believing that I could have something for myself for once. I-I thought that I could have this and him and I thought that we,” you pause as you gesture between the three of you, “I thought we were friends, I thought we were a family but you all lied to me, you all watched him using me and you said fucking nothing! You could have told me from the start–”
“We are a family!” Gareth says as he steps towards you, “he wasn’t using you!”
“He has a fucking girlfriend, Gareth!” you say angrily as tears of frustration build up in your eyes.
“She’s a bitch!” Gareth exclaims, throwing his hands up, “no one fucking likes her– Eddie doesn’t even like her anymore, she’s the whole fucking reason why he wanted to leave Hawkins in the first place.”
You scrunch your face up at his words, “what?”
“Gareth,” Jeff sighs, rolling his eyes.
“She kept hurting him and wanted things from him that he couldn’t give her, she wants a life that he doesn’t even want.”
You blink in disbelief, crossing your arms over your chest, you shake your head.
“Yet he is still with her!”
“Because he is a fucking coward, he doesn’t know how to break things off with her even after she cheated on him.”
“What?” you ask, eyes widening in shock.
“She cheated on him with Jason– her ex boyfriend, who by the way always had it out for Eddie.”
You tense up at his words, staring at him for a moment.
She cheated on him and he stayed with her.
She cheated on him and he forgave her.
You raise your eyebrows as you piece everything together.
Eddie never told you anything about her, he hid his relationship from you. He lied to you about his phone call with her. He made the first moves, he was the one who initiated the affection on stage, he was the one who picked out the cover photo for the album, he was the one who touched you affectionately in public and eventually, he kissed you and touched you in ways he shouldn’t have.
He did it because he knew she would see it all.
He did it to get back at her.
He did it to hurt her the way she hurt him.
He did it to get even.
He used you and no one can convince you otherwise.
Your silence and the hurt look on your face makes Gareth regret his words, he stares at you in concern, just the way Jeff does.
So, maybe he didn’t use you for the music or for the band but he used you for something entirely else, something that hurts so much more.
You hear his footsteps as he joins you all on the bus, he approaches you carefully, a soft look in his eyes as they fall on you. You raise your head, looking at him with tears in your eyes, again. God, you’re already sick of crying.
The sadness in his eyes and the expression of heartbreak on his face isn’t making this any easier for you. To look at him hurts you even more. To look into those brown eyes and not feel your heart hurting will be impossible. Loving him came so easy to you. This love was something that you have always dreamed about, that you have always hoped for and when you finally had it, you actually felt like you were in a dream but now you have woken up to a nightmare and a future filled with nothing but pain and heartache.
Eddie sees the pain and the tears in your eyes, a knowing look residing in those sad eyes of yours. Gareth shifts uncomfortably and Jeff avoids looking at him.
What did they tell you?
He tilts his head a little, the urge to walk over to you and pull you into his arms is strong.
You shake your head, quickly wiping away a fallen tear, you put on a brave face, not wanting anyone to see how hurt you really are.
“Just leave me alone, all of you. It’s bad enough that I’m stuck here with you until the end of the tour,” you mumble in anger, “I don’t want to hear any of your bullshit lies anymore. You got your fucking tour, your fame, your money, you got everything you wanted– you’re fucking welcome for that, assholes.”
“Great job, man,” Jeff mumbles as he watches you walk away.
“Shit,” Gareth mutters under his breath.
“W-What happened?” Eddie asks, nervously, eyes darting.
“She thinks you’re using her,” Jeff says before he looks back to Gareth, “and this dumbass here, told her that Chrissy cheated on you, thinking that he’s helping but I’m guessing it gives her all the more reasons to think that you’ve been using her considering you’re still with her,” Jeff mumbles, glaring at his friends.
Fuck.
Eddie takes in a sharp breath at his words.
This just keeps getting messier and the more you find out, the more he feels like he will never be able to fix things with you. It took a lot for him to even gain your trust but you gave him your all. You gave him your trust, you gave him your love, you gave him your heart, you gave him pieces of you that no one has ever even come close to getting.
He was the first one to ever make you feel like you could let yourself fall, like you could trust him wholeheartedly.
For the first time in your life, you thought that you could be genuinely happy, you thought that he would be the one to protect you, to take care of you, to love you, to stay.
You trusted him blindly and gave him your heart.
And now you were left empty and broken.
How will you ever make it through this tour when you have to be around the one that hurt you so badly?
How will you ever make it through this Christmas with a broken heart and so much pain in your soul?
-
Indianapolis was only a two hours drive away from your last destination, something you felt very grateful for. Being on this tour bus made you feel worse and worse the more time has passed since you got back on it.
You were excited to check into your new hotel room and be all by yourself but Rob had different plans, convincing you to join him and the guys for dinner. You didn’t want to be around them longer than necessary but saying no to him made you feel guilty. He did nothing but show you kindness and has taken over Sam’s overprotective nature.
The feeling of Eddie’s eyes on you made your skin crawl, he kept trying to get your attention, looking at you with those big puppy eyes that you so easily fell in love with and every time you looked into his eyes, you had to force yourself to look away.
You zoned out of most of the conversations. Not wanting to be a part of any of them, not wanting to talk to Eddie or the others.
But as they switched the topic to Christmas, your ears perked up as they all spoke of the traditions in their family.
Eddie was quiet and so were you.
There are no Christmas traditions for you. A holiday that you used to love was just tainted now, every year you had to be reminded of the awful day you’ve found your dad lying on the bathroom floor with no life left in him.
You just want this holiday to pass quickly, you’re gonna spend it in some motel room in Hawkins.
Hawkins.
You were excited to see where it all started for the guys, you were excited to meet Eddie’s uncle and his friends, he talked about them all the time and was excited to introduce you to all of them, he wanted to show you the hideout where they had performed every Tuesday. Was he also excited to introduce you to her?
What was he thinking when he made all those plans with you when he had a girl there waiting for him?
Did he want to introduce you to each other?
Did he plan to humiliate you in front of her and his friends?
Did he want everyone to know what a fool he has made of you?
The anger rises in you quickly and angry tears threaten to spill as you stare down at your lap.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
Eddie watches you in concern, your chest is rising up and down heavily, your hands are clenched, fingernails digging into your palms, you look angry and hurt.
Are you sure you don’t want to fly home for Christmas?” Rob asks you, pulling you out of your thoughts.
For a moment, you just stare into blank space, blinking your tears away before you turn to look at him, ignoring all the worried looks from the others.
You nod.
“Don’t you want to see your friends?”
You shake your head, “no uh– they always spend Christmas with their families so I wouldn’t see them anyways,” you shrug.
And you don’t want them to find out about what happened.
Rob nods, giving you a sad smile.
“I’ll just have an extra long break I guess,” you chuckle, already feeling miserable about spending a week cooped up in some motel room in a small town.
Eddie looks down at his hands.
‘Come home with me.’
He wishes he could say those words to you.
“We can hang out,” Jeff says, giving you a hopeful smile.
“Yeah and you can spend Christmas with us, my mom would love to have you over, she likes you more than me.”
You snort at his words.
You wanna stay mad at him but it’s difficult to do so. Having Gareth in your life feels like having a younger brother– an annoying younger brother but one that you still love and care for no matter what.
Covering for Eddie was so wrong and not telling you the truth was wrong too but judging by the way he talked to Chrissy, you can tell that he doesn’t like her so he really didn’t care about Eddie’s relationship and what would happen to it when she found out about you. Still, it’s wrong.
“Yeah, I wonder why,” you snort.
“Hey!” he gasps.
“I bet she wanted a daughter but got you instead.”
Jeff snorts at your words while Gareth stares at you in shock.
Eddie stares at you, watching as you try to eat some of the fries only to push the plate away from you again after a few bites.
“Are you excited for the concert tomorrow night, Eddie?” Rob asks. He leans back in his chair, bringing his hand up to his face, he strokes his graying beard.
Eddie tears his eyes from you, “huh?”
Rob chuckles, repeating his question, “because of your uncle, you said he’s coming, right?”
Suddenly his eyes widen when he remembers. After all the events from yesterday, he completely forgot that Wayne is coming to the show.
You glance at Eddie and he immediately looks at you.
“Yeah, I’m excited,” he mumbles, gazing into your eyes.
Rob nods, he looks around, eyes moving back and forth between you and Eddie, “you two should get some rest, you both look exhausted. You got two shows here and uh– an appointment.”
At that, everyone turns to look at him with a mixture of a frown and confusion on their faces.
Eddie crosses his arms over his chest, raising his brows in question.
“W-What do you mean?” Gareth laughs nervously, scratching the back of his neck.
“You got an interview with the press, they’re just gonna ask a few questions, won’t last longer than an hour,” he explains, trying not to freak anyone out.
“Holy shit,” Jeff mumbles, “we’re famous enough for interviews?”
“Of course we are, man,” Gareth scoffs, flicking his hair.
You roll your eyes.
While they are somehow amused and excited about the news, you are nervous and anxious about it. The press can be harsh, the journalists can be disrespectful and their questions can be downright cruel. You know what kinds of questions they have asked your dad, how awful and mean they could be.
And you can already imagine what kinds of questions they will ask you. They will go easy on the guys but they won’t go easy on you. You are the only woman, surrounded by a bunch of guys, you are a former rockstar’s daughter, a lot of pictures of you and Eddie partying already exist– this is going to be a disaster.
“You’ve got two days to prepare for it, it’s gonna be fine.”
Right.
You’re the first one to leave the diner, pulling the jacket tighter around you as you step out into the cold. Your hands are freezing already and your jacket is surely not made for this weather.
The streets are white, snowflakes are falling from the sky as the wind howls through the trees. You rub your arms, looking up into the night sky, you think back to your younger self and how she always wished for the cold and the snow during Christmas time, your dad would always laugh and shake his head, telling you that you would hate the cold.
He was right.
You hate the cold, it only makes you feel more empty.
“You need a warmer jacket if you wanna survive the cold here.”
You roll your eyes.
“I’m fine.”
“You’re freezing,” Eddie points out as he stops next to you, placing a cigarette between his lips and lighting it with his red lighter.
You don’t respond to him.
He turns away from you, blowing the smoke into a different direction before he turns back to you. He has been meaning to talk to you about what Gareth told you earlier today but he didn’t know how to approach you or how to start a conversation with you again after what happened at the hotel this morning.
He stares at you, something that would’ve made you blush under different circumstances but now it just irritates you. The smell of his cigarette and his presence is enough to irritate you.
“I’m leaving,” you announce before you walk away from him, hoping that he won’t follow but that would’ve been too easy, you will never be able to shake Eddie Munson off of you again.
“Don’t you want to wait for the others?”
“No.”
Eddie follows you, hurrying to catch up with you.
“Do you think I’ll let you walk back to the hotel by yourself?”
You scoff, "why, are you scared that some other douchebag will try to convince me to join his band?”
Eddie frowns at your words.
“It’s dangerous.”
“Yeah, being around you was dangerous too but I’m still here,” you exclaim with a fake smile as you roll your eyes at him.
He speaks your name softly.
“Just leave me alone, Eddie. I don’t want to talk to you,” you mumble, “and I don’t want to see you either.”
It hurts. It’s his own fault but it still hurts, a lot.
“Please–”
“Jesus, just shut up, Eddie. I don’t want to talk to you!”
The hurt look that flashes in his eyes is almost enough to make you feel guilty so you quickly look back, focusing on the street in front of you instead.
“If you wanna walk with me, at least be quiet.”
He nods.
He stays quiet for the next five minutes. Smoking his cigarette and giving you the silence that you wanted. The only sounds that echo through the big city are the cars that are driving by you, surprisingly enough you don’t see many people around.
You hate the way you still feel so comfortable around him, you hate the way you still long for his touch, you hate the way he makes you feel.
“I know you won’t believe me but I never used you to get back at her if that’s what you’re thinking.”
You tense up at his words but continue to look forward as you keep walking.
“No?”
He shakes his head even though you’re still not looking at him, “no, it was never about that.”
“Then what was it about?” you ask, sighing in relief when you see the hotel you are staying at, you just wanna leave the conversation and him.
“I just wanted you, there was no motive behind it, I just liked you and I wanted you and over time it just turned into something more,” he explains, hoping that this will ease some tension between you.
You halt in your tracks and he does too.
“You lied and you cheated just like she did. If you’re asking me, it’s a match made in heaven,” you mumble as you look down.
“Y/n, please–”
“You are still with her, Eddie. Don’t talk to me about this– this thing that happened between us when you are still with her,” you pause, “it’s not fair.”
“I don’t want to be with her.”
You close your eyes and sigh.
“I’ve felt that way for a long time now–”
“Then why didn’t you break up with her?”
“I wanted but when I got back to my room, she was already gone–”
You look up at him, “no, why didn’t you break up with her earlier if you didn’t want to be with her anymore?”
He blinks, sadness flashing in his eyes when he sees the tears in your eyes, “because I was a fool, I didn’t know how, she’s so far away, I didn’t want to do it on the phone, I didn’t want to be an asshole and hurt her.”
Your heart aches at his words. He looks into your eyes so deeply. How can you not get emotional when he does that?
“If you wanted to leave her so badly, if you wanted to break things off with her then why did you kiss her, why did you sleep with her again, why did you do all that with her in front of me? I-If I was in your situation and I would’ve still been with that other person for whatever reason and they came to see me after I’ve just spend months kissing and touching you, after I’ve just kissed you moments ago, I would have never touched them again, I would have never kissed them again, I would have never done what you did,” you voice cracks and tears fall from your eyes once again today, “I would’ve never done this to you, Eddie.”
Despite what you believe, it hurts him so much to see you like that, to see you suffer as much as you do because of him.
He wants nothing more than to wipe your tears away and pull you into his arms and never let you go.
But he stands frozen in place, he doesn’t speak up, he doesn’t tell you that he didn’t sleep with her, that he didn’t kiss her.
“It hurts so much, Eddie,” you whisper, “you hurt me so much and I never thought that you would do this, I thought that you would keep me safe.”
Tears blur his vision, the weight of your words lie heavy on his heart.
“I hate this feeling and I hate that it was you who put me here and I hate that I still want you.”
His eyes widen at your words. Despite the tone you used and the look of anger in your eyes when you said that to him, he still feels his heart fluttering.
You are angry and sad but he doesn’t know which emotion is stronger right now.
“I want you too,” he whispers, taking a step towards you but still keeping some distance, scared to make you uncomfortable, “I never wanted anyone the way I want you, y/n.”
You roll your eyes and turn away from him, wrapping your arms around yourself, you bite down on your lip as you try to blink the tears away; already feeling sick of crying.
“Stop bullshitting me.”
Eddie feels hopeless. He knows you won’t believe him, he can tell you anything to try and make you believe his words but it won’t change anything. It’s over. You have built your walls up again, higher than they were before. You might be vulnerable now and show him the pain that he has caused but it’s different now than how it was before.
“I’m not– I’m not bullshitting you,” he sighs. He looks at you through his bangs as he plays with the rings on his fingers, “what can I do to make you believe me?”
“Nothing,” you scoff, “I just want you to leave me alone, Eddie. I’ll stay.. for now, I won’t change anything about our performances, I’ll pretend to be your friend in front of the press and the fans, I don’t want any drama but just give me space.”
How you went from being his friend to pretending to be his friend pains him more than anything.
He looks down, unable to look into your angry eyes any longer, “okay,” he whispers as he keeps looking at the snowy ground.
You sniffle, mumbling some coherent words under your breath before you leave him standing there.
He finally looks up, watching as you walk into the hotel with your head down.
He smokes another cigarette before he walks in after you.
Tonight will be the first night in months that he will sleep alone, without you there, without you in his arms.
It will be a sleepless and awful night, not just for him, for you too.
You place your hand on your stomach, feeling sick at the thought of what he did with her after being with you. You weren’t sure whether he had sex with her last night or not but his silence confirmed it.
He slept with her, he kissed her, he held her in his arms while you cried your eyes out. The thought makes your heart hurt even more, how little he cares about you when you thought that you had meant something to him.
-
You sit in front of the vanity, looking into the mirror, ignoring the tired look on your face as you touch up your makeup.
The smell of hairspray and perfume lingers in the room.
The sound of music and the sound crew rushing outside of the room makes the room feel less silent.
Usually, Eddie would be here with you, peppering kisses along your neck as you’d get ready for the show but he isn’t here with you and he never will be again; not after everything that happened.
The mixture of sadness and anger lies heavy in your heart but what overweighs it all is the pain, the kind that you have gotten to know for the very first time. Getting your heart broken by someone you fell so deeply in love with hurts more than you imagined.
You don’t know what to do with yourself.
On one hand, you want nothing more than to break down again, cry yourself to sleep and never leave your room again but on the other hand, you want nothing more than to get revenge, make him and the others regret for using you and hurting you like that.
Sighing, you place the lipstick on the table and run your fingers through your hair before you get up, checking yourself and the outfit you picked out one more time. You smoothe the skirt down and fix the tights, pulling your necklace out from beneath your shirt.
You eye the bottle of whiskey on the table behind you, contemplating on having another drink before the show but deciding against it in the end.
Leaving the room, you suddenly feel your heart pounding in your chest. Feeling slightly overwhelmed by the stress that occurs before each concert– you never really paid attention to it, always too focused on him and your nervous state to notice anything else around you.
Someone brushes past you, mumbling out an apology as they carry a box in their hand. You find Rob talking to the stage manager, smiling a little too widely at her words. You smile a little. In all this time you have never seen him flirting or showing interest in anyone.
She touches his arm, laughing at something he said. Rob’s eyes light up.
You don't see the way someone is staring at you, you don't feel the pair- two pairs of eyes on you.
"Wow," Steve mumbles, cutting Eddie off mid speech, who looks at him in confusion before he turns to look at what he is staring.
Yeah, wow. That's what he feels like whenever he sees you.
"She's so pretty- no fuck, she is perfect," Steve blushes, taking in the sight of you.
Eddie doesn't like the way his friend is staring at you but he nods, "yeah, she is."
"Is she single?"
"Dude," Eddie grumbles.
"What? If she's single, I might as well shoot my shot, I got nothing to lose," Steve snorts, not noticing the disapproving look on his friend's face.
"Not happening."
"Why not?" he asks, eyes flashing with curiosity.
Eddie's composure falters a little, "because she's... because she is my-"
Steve raises his brows.
"Friend, because she is my friend," Eddie mumbles, speaking the word with such distaste. He doesn't want you to be his friend, he wants you to be more than that.
"Eddie."
At the sound of your voice, both men turn to look at you. Eddie watches as you eye Steve with a smile on your face.
"Who's this pretty boy?" you question even though you are fully aware of who he is.
While Steve's eyes widen and his eyes light up, Eddie stares at you, feeling irritated. He can see the look of mischief in your eyes. You tilt your head, giving him a fake smile before you turn back to Steve.
His brown eyes are warm, soft, pretty– he is pretty, even prettier in person.
He licks his lips, smirking when he notices you checking him out.
"I'm Steve."
"And I'm y/n," you smile as you hold your hand out for him. He takes it with a smile on his face, shaking it. He lets his fingers linger on your skin for a moment before he pulls his hand back again.
Eddie frowns at the eye contact.
You raise your brows in surprise, “I didn’t know you invited your friend, I thought your uncle was coming?”
Eddie looks down, “he couldn’t make it so Steve came.”
"Oh- well, I'm happy to finally meet you."
"Likewise, Eddie told me a lot about you."
Eddie watches the way your smile falters a little, eyes flashing with hurt, something that doesn't go unnoticed by Steve.
“Well, he talks a lot about you too,” you say, flashing Eddie a smile as well. You might be very hurt and mad but you don’t want to make his friend uncomfortable. It’s bad enough that Rob has witnessed what went down between the two of you, you don’t need anyone else to find out– for all you know, he thinks that you are nothing more than friends.
Eddie is surprised by the way you can act as though nothing ever happened when you undoubtedly cried in the changing room before you came out here.
“Good things, I hope?” Steve questions, smiling nervously as he looks over at his friend.
You chuckle as you look back at him, “oh for sure, Stevie.”
Steve raises his eyebrows at you, smirking once again.
He is amused unlike Eddie, who looks bitter and mad at your interaction with his friend.
“I actually named my car Stevie.”
“Oh, is that so?”
You nod, “mhmm, she’s a beauty.”
“I bet,” Steve mumbles, eying you up and down, not noticing the glare that he is receiving from his friend, “just like her owner.”
You roll your eyes playfully and giggle.
Eddie sighs in annoyance, shaking his head as he looks away with a frown on his face, “I’ll be right back,” he mumbles before he makes his way towards Rob.
Steve places his palm against the wall as he leans closer to you. He watches Eddie walk away but turning around to take another look at you, the sadness and the jealousy is hard to miss, it confuses him a little, Eddie has a girlfriend.
“So do you like any of our songs or are you just here to support Eddie?”
“Uh, of course!” Steve exclaims, “been listening to the album on repeat. You’ve made the band into something else! They also play it on the radio a lot.”
He leans closer, looking down at you with a smile on his face, “and don’t tell Eddie but I actually only started liking the band since you joined.”
You giggle, “oh?”
“Wasn’t really my type of music,” he shrugs, “but your songs and you? I could listen to you all day.”
Oh, wow.
Eddie wasn’t lying when he told you that Steve was a flirt and it was never hard for him to pull girls left and right. Not only is he gorgeous and sweet, he also knows how to flirt with just his eyes.
“You could, huh?”
He nods, “yeah,” he murmurs, eyes flickering down to your lips, “you have the prettiest voice and you’re pretty– even prettier in person.”
You can’t even help but chuckle at his words. He has only known you for a few minutes and he is already giving his all to get into your pants.
“You’re bad, Steve.”
“Mhmm,” he smirks, watching the way, your eyes dart between his eyes and his lips, “so are you.”
“No, I’m not.” You bat your eyelashes at him, “if I was bad, I’d ask you to stick around after the show so I could fuck you on the tour bus like the others do with the groupies,” you shrug.
Surprised by your bluntness, he laughs.
“And you wouldn’t do that, would you?”
You shake your head, giving him an innocent smile, “no, I wouldn’t. I don't do such things.”
“Well, that's too bad. I’m still going to stick around, honey.”
You bite your lip, trying to contain the smirk.
"For Eddie?" you smirk.
He shakes his head as he eyes your lips.
“You wanna be a groupie, Steve?”
“And so what if I do?” he asks, stepping even closer to you.
You smell his cologne, his aftershave and a hint of spearmint. You let your eyes roam, eyeing his hands, the muscles that he is hiding under his shirt– god, this man is hot, not like Eddie but still hot.
“You don’t even know me.”
“We’ll get to know each other,” he shrugs.
You giggle, “you wanna play 21 questions while you take my clothes off?”
His eyes darken at your words, a low chuckle leaving his lips.
“I’d be open to it.”
“Well,” you whisper as you look up at him, “then stick around, honey,” you say as you place your hand on his chest, letting your fingers linger on his necklace.
His eyes light up at your words.
“You ever been with a rockstar before?” you ask with a smirk on your face.
“No but I always wanted to.”
“Well, you might get lucky tonight," you say, smirking at the excited look in his eyes, "I mean there's a few rockstars tonight, most of the guys in the band are still single you know? There's also an opening act with a very hot drummer. You can live the groupie life tonight, Steve," you whisper in his ear before you walk off.
He suddenly grows red, blushing at your teasing but he chuckles when you turn around to wink at him.
And while Steve feels nothing but excitement. Eddie feels anger like he has never felt before, his eyes are filled with rage and his hands are clenched into fists as he watches you flirt with his friend.
He wonders if you are doing it to spite him, to hurt him the way he hurt you or if you are doing it because you are genuinely interested in Steve. In all this time, you have been on tour, you haven’t flirted with anyone other than him– well, you kissed a fan but that was one time. You never actually took anyone on the tour bus or back to the hotel with you, like Gareth but something tells him that that will change tonight and the thought of it, makes him jealous and miserable.
The thought of another man touching you makes him feel sick. He should be the one, not Steve, not anyone else.
Yet, he can’t do anything about it.
He can’t do anything about the gazes between the two of you during the concert.
He can’t do anything about the way you keep flirting with each other afterwards.
He can’t stop you from showing interest in somebody else, you aren’t his and yet it hurts so horribly.
At the afterparty, he quickly finds himself regretting even attending. He watches you flirt with his friend, not even sparing him a single glance. You laugh and smile at anything he says, letting him touch your thigh and brush your hair back to whisper in your ear.
It hurts.
It hurts to see you like that with someone else.
It hurts to watch you touching someone else, knowing that it was him that you had touched not even a week back.
All sorts of emotions rush through him but especially jealousy. He feels miserable. His friends are all having fun, while he sits in a corner, sipping on his whiskey before he finally calls it a night and hides away in his hotel room, thinking about you while you are not thinking about him at all.
While Eddie feels the pain of losing you, you forget all about it.
You forget about the pain and the heartache for a moment, your mind is elsewhere as you let Steve– who is technically a stranger, touch your bare body with his hands.
You let him kiss you, you let him mark you up, you let him taste you, you let him fuck you.
And he does it rather disrespectfully to your surprise. Filthy words fall from his lips as he fucks you into the mattress, making you whimper and moan his name, chanting it like a prayer.
“You’re so fucking perfect, baby,” he moans, slapping your ass roughly, earning another loud moan from you.
“So perfect,” he grunts as he feels you squeezing around him, “so fucking tight and wet for me.”
“S-Steve….” you whimper.
Tears run down your cheek, your lips are wet and parted, gasps and moans falling from them as you feel his big cock pounding into you.
He pulls out, slapping your ass one more time, he chuckles darkly as you whine, he flips you over on your back, grabbing your legs to wrap them around his waist. His forehead is sweaty, eyes dark, a few strands of his hair fall in front of his eyes, “didn’t think you’d be so submissive, pretty girl,”
Something inside of you snaps at his comment, you easily flip him over, surprising both him and yourself by your strength. He gasps as you sink down on his dick and moan into his neck.
He grabs your waist tightly and whimpers, “oh fuck…. oh baby, I’m not gonna–” he pauses, moaning even louder than before when he feels you clenching around him, “not gonna last… long, fuck.”
You kiss his neck, reaching for his hair to tug at it, “didn’t think you’d be so submissive, pretty boy,” you tease him.
He grabs your neck and pulls you back so he can see your face, smirking when you another loud gasp leaves your lips as he starts to fuck into you from beneath, “i’m still the one in charge, honey.”
You quickly lose your composure again, clinging to him as you feel him hitting every right spot.
“Oh…. n-no problem….” you whimper, “you’re so big…Steve..”.
He smashes his lips against yours, kissing you roughly as you start riding him. He savors the kiss, he savors the touch, he savors the feeling of your skin against his. He fucks you roughly but he touches you gently.
He kisses you passionately, he kisses you as though you are his, as though he has known you for a long time, as though you didn’t just meet, as though you aren’t strangers.
And he makes you forget, even if just for a moment, he makes you forget about all the pain Eddie has caused, he makes you forget about the damage that Eddie has done to your heart, he makes you forget about the betrayal that you feel so deep in your soul. He makes you forget about everything.
He might have saved you from numbing your pain with something else.
And while you don’t think about him, he thinks about you, all night.
He lies awake and misses the feeling of you in his arms. He misses the feeling of your touch. He misses the feeling of your lips on his neck and on his lips. He misses you so badly.
He wonders if you miss him too.
But when he leaves his room the next morning and he sees you leaving yours, he quickly realizes that you’re not alone and that you never missed him.
Your gasp echoes through the empty hallway as Steve smacks your ass and pulls you back into his chest to kiss your neck, you giggle and lean into his touch the way you would do with him.
Eddie’s heart stops beating for a moment and he watches the scene unfold with a shocked and hurt expression on his face. His lips part in surprise, a frown appears on his face.
Jealousy, anger and sadness rush through him.
But also the feeling of betrayal.
Was it so easy for you to move on?
You have just been in his arms two days ago and now you were in another man’s arms, in his friend’s arms. Somehow, this hurts more than when his girlfriend betrayed him.

Family Planning 4
Part 3
There's a severe lack of hijinks in this chapter but I'm hoping to fix that in the next part.
Steve was caught off guard when he heard a call pull up in the morning and it was Tommy, with Carol in tow. They never picked him up, preferring Steve’s car. His dad looked over his newspaper questioningly and Steve had no choice but to go outside. Now that he thought about it, he and Eddie hadn’t made plans to go to school together today. He had just assumed, but even then he wasn’t sure why.
“Hey, what’re you guys doing here?”, Steve asked as he walked out.
“You know why Harrington, get in”, Tommy said.
He did and Tommy didn’t even wait for the door to close before asking him about yesterday. Carol interjected with her own questions. They were his friends, so he didn’t mind answering but just like his parents they couldn’t wrap their heads around Steve going through with it on his own. Clearly it was all Eddie’s influence.
“I get that he’s an alpha, but you can’t let some knot-head like that lead you around”, Carol said.
“And you know that’s all he wants right? To get that knot in”, Tommy snickered. “And he gets to pretend he’s your alpha with a pup? I bet that freak humped his pillow last night, thinking of it.”
“Eugh, gross. I do NOT want to think about Munson’s junk”, Carol said.
“Can you guys cool it? I’m the one that’s actually gotta work with him for the project”, Steve said from the backseat. Not only was it offputting, but it didn’t seem fair to Eddie. Besides the odd fashion choices and weird club, he was a nice guy.
His friends did in fact cool it, at least until they got to school and Eddie was spotted waiting by the front entrance. Without a word to either Tommy or Carol, Steve went over to him. They had to get their new sack of flour. Ms. Engels gave them what could only be called a glare and Steve had the decency to feel a little bad, but not much.
“I’ll take the little rugrat for the first couple of periods”, Eddie offered. “If you want, we can meet up at lunch to do the paperwork.”
“Sounds great”, Steve said without even thinking.
He honestly did forget about it until lunch came. And by then, he already had his tray in his hands, Tommy on one side and Carol ahead of them, going to their usual table. Steve set his tray down just as Eddie came up to them.
“Hey, you ready?”
“What’s he doing here?”, Carol sneered.
“Shit, I forgot”, Steve said. “Yeah, we can just do it here.”
Eddie’s eyes slid to the two betas who looked like they wanted to toss him in the trash. His flight response was kicking up but he knew Carol wasn’t a scrapper and Hagan wouldn’t do anything so long as he stayed on Steve’s good side. So when Steve sat down, he scooted over and Eddie slid on next to him.
“Alright first thing’s first, baby’s name. How do you feel about Gertrude?”, Eddie grinned.
Steve’s nose scrunched. “She’s not someone’s grandma. And who said it’s a girl?”
“Do you have a preference for sex?”, Eddie asked.
“Gag me”, Carol muttered under her breath.
“Hey!”, Steve scolded. “Like it or not, he’s the sire of my pup and will be until the deadline of this project. You two need to get over yourselves.” If Eddie was going to be around more, Steve wasn’t going to let those comments continue to fly.
Carol forked her food aggressively and Tommy just rolled his eyes. “Chill out man, didn’t know you were taking it seriously.”
Steve turned to Eddie. “What about Hannah?”
“I’m partial to Isabelle myself.”
It took them about halfway through lunch to settle on Kimberly Farrah Lisbeth Odette Ursa Rebecca Munson. It was a mouthful of a name, but it all fit on the line. And Steve allowed Eddie full freedom with her middle name since he got her first name. Her last name being Munson was the traditional route. Omegas usually gave up their name when they got married.
“Hey Eddie, are you gonna spend your whole lunch here?”
Steve looked up to see one of the members of that club. Hellfire. He wasn’t entirely sure what they got up to, played some kind of game. But they were looking at Steve and his friends warily. Steve looked to the table where the rest of them were and they shared the same expressions.
“Ummm”, Eddie turned to Steve, like he was asking permission.
“We’ve got her name and all that stuff”, Steve said. “We can figure out trade off times later.” They just had to get the papers to Engels before the end of the day. He also offered to take the flour for the rest of the day since Eddie had it in the morning.
“Well then, I guess my business is done”, Eddie said, pushing away from the table. “Goodbye little Kimmy.” He actually kissed the top of the flour sack and then walked away.
“Dude, are you actually trying this year?”
“I plan on walking that stage come spring Gare-bear”, Eddie clapped his friend’s shoulder. And if he had to do so with a bag of food on his hip, so be it.
When the end of the day came, Eddie reconnected with Steve just as he was about to walk out the doors. The moment he did, they both noticed the principal eyeing them by the exit. Eddie frowned.
“You don’t need to hover. We’re actually not doing the helicopter parent thing.”
“We said we’d stay out of trouble”, Steve said.
“Forgive me if I don’t have total confidence in the both of you. Mr. Munson especially.”
Eddie put his arm around Steve’s shoulders. “We’re gonna be the model family. Just watch! We’re gonna do so good, Steve’ll be knocked up by spring!”
Steve’s face got red and it felt like the whole hallway stopped in its tracks. Steve let out a sigh, head hung in mortification as Eddie realized everyone in a two mile radius probably heard what he just said.
“Bad timing?”
“Is there good timing?”, Steve asked. Deciding to commit, he took the sack of flour out of his bookbag and put it on his hip like a real pup. “Well sir, if you’ll excuse us.”
He started walking and Eddie had no choice but to follow his lead unless he wanted to separate. Eddie’s van was easy to locate and it was only when they got to it did they move apart.
“Thanks for not leaving me high and dry. Sooo, how are we gonna do the trade offs?”
“I think what we did today was fine”, Steve said. Handing the baby off between breaks, giving each of them a few hours free. “Which means you get our little bundle tonight since I had her all afternoon.”
“Cool. Do you uh, need a ride or?”
Steve thought about this morning, how he’d expected Eddie to come without really communicating so. “Uhhh-”
Eddie gasped. “Steve! It’s horrible!” He opened up the passenger door to his van. “I don’t have a carseat!”
“...Okay?”
“Which means you’ll have to hold dear Kimberly while I drive!”
Steve looked around as Eddie made a spectacle of himself. Principal Woolsley was still watching from the door. Didn’t he have a life? With a sigh, Steve got in and buckled up with their pretend pup. As they drove off, the principal was joined by a custodian who gave a chuckle.
“Ain’t that project meant to discourage procreation?”
Their routine worked pretty well. Right down to who drove them each day. Whoever had the baby for the evening would be picked up in the morning. It felt like an even balance of duties. Steve admitted to himself being a little apprehensive of coming to the trailer park for the first time, but when Eddie got in, Wayne smiled at them from the door and Eddie even bid good morning to the old lady who had glared at Steve when he drove up.
Steve’s parents never came out to wave to Eddie, even when he came right to the door and knocked. Eddie didn’t come to their lunch table again, the trade usually happening either before they got to the cafeteria or after lunch was over. Tommy and Carol stopped their snide remarks about Eddie but they didn’t start singing his praises either. Which was fine.
As for the report, Steve just left the sack on his bedroom desk while he was at home. If Eddie was doing any different, he didn’t let on. But while in school, he was a doting father, calling the sack pet names and kissing it, hamming it up whenever Engels or Woolsley were in sight.
All in all it was going well and that February deadline got closer and closer. But as Steve was crossing today off his calendar, he noticed a problem. He was about to be short on time and Eddie wasn’t going to like the reason why when he told him tomorrow.
Basketball season started soon.
