Darling Bitches, is LinkedIn worth the soul suck of having a corporate-friendly social media presence? I know networking is great but I don’t want to filter myself in my off hours, damn it!
We feel you honey!
Basically, you should treat LinkedIn like a detailed online resume. Don't worry about posting there a lot, just make sure your profile is up to date and when you're job searching, check your messages and opportunities on the regular. Otherwise, we don't think it's worth putting a ton of effort in.
Good luck, my darling!

Helpful LinkedIn Tip
If your search suddenly looks like this:
Instead of like this:
it's because they auto-opt-in'd you to their AI search. If you're a reasonable, rational person and you don't want anything to do with that shit, you can turn it off. I looked all through my settings before I found the button, it's actually right there on the search screen itself. Go a little over to the right until you see this:
(it should be under your profile pic)
click that little dropdown arrow and change it back to classic search.
Happy job hunting.
#my words#linkedin#I didn't turn this shit on and I'm mad that it just did it by default#I don't need you to hold my hand#I'm not looking for 'marketing jobs that will help cure cancer'#just let me search for my stupid fucking data entry customer support jobs in peace#I'm so fucking sick of AI being shoved down our throats

hello friends, would it be bad if i apply to places on LinkedIn but i don’t have a big following, photo, or posts. would the company’s reject me? yes, i believe these hiring managers do look for the criteria but seeing your profile, where you went to school, etc seems like an invite to get judged. im just looking to apply to office jobs, education jobs, liberal arts basically)
No, not bad!
While we would recommend bulking up your LinkedIn profile (it's ridic, but it works), a minimal profile there should not prevent you from applying to jobs through LinkedIn.

Serious question though, for anyone who has had a paying job in the past.
Based on my own experiences over the years.
Please reblog if you're also curious about the answer. I want to see if my experiences of Indeed offering only false hope are the norm or not.

Okay, so funny story time. I was scrolling on Google Feed, yah know that side panel you swipe right to get to on Android devices, and it shows you targeted news stories and stuff. Anyway, I was (and currently am) on heavy pain medication due to an infected tooth, and seeing this threw me for a loop. I thought I had somehow slid into the actual DC Universe or something, this cursed Google Feed recommended me TIM DRAKE'S LINKEDIN! I thought he was a real person for a second!
It turns out that it's just some random business dude, but out of the Robins, Tim Drake would definitely be the one with a LinkedIn.
#and its under the search: tim drake robin#what does this dudes linkedin have to do with robin#I'm tripping#zebtalks#tim drake#dc robin#robin#tim drake robin#dc#dc comics#batman#batfam#bat family#google#google feed

Job Hunters!
LinkedIn Learning is a great resource for learning/refreshing skills related to your area of expertise or a career you want to work in.
When you finish watching the video you get a certificate displayed on your profile, which could help with job prospects.
It does cost unfortunately, but a LinkedIn premuim subscription is a useful investment too.
