Thanks to those who voted in the interest check, HP Flowers is a go for this year! Hooray! Your support and enthusiasm for this challenge is much appreciated, so get ready for another awesome round of flowers and plants! The Spring Round runs from May 1 - May 31, 2024. As a refresher, this open prompt challenge is inspired by floriography, the language of flowers (and plants) and encourages creators to use text and photo prompts to make fic, art and more. General challenge info and timeline are very similar to last year, so please be sure to read the Guidelines and FAQ thoroughly, whether you're a returning participant or you're trying the challenge for the first time. Creators can also combine new 2024 prompts with any prompts from previous rounds. Go have fun mixing things up using anything from the prompts card catalogue! And of course, a reminder that this challenge is open to all HP ships and creative mediums (such as fic, art, podfic, bookbindings, crafts and whatever else!). What are your favourite drarry fics? Mine is Survival is a Talent by ShanaStoryteller: Harry and Draco are adorable, and the original magic is quite entertaining. (Updates have been slow lately, but there's a lot less tension now, and it's worth reading even if it doesn't get finished)

Turn by saras_girl: Absolute classic, changed my life, it was so beautiful and heartbreaking and healing and happy. Honestly everything by saras_girl is 1000/10.

Dear Enemy by gingertodgers: the most hilarious epistolatory fic. i would die for all of them.

Little Red Courgettes by blamebrampton: i learned more about politics and diplomacy through this bloody hilarious political satire and romance than I did in all the rest of my education. I was crying with laughter throughout.

Draco Malfoy and the Mirror of Ecidyrue by starbrigid: The first book of the MoE series and it's Draco put back in year 1 with all his war memories intact and he relives everything and i'm doing a bad job but it's AMAZING and the platonic dramione friendship? harry having a crush on little Draco?

Scorpius likes the wisteria best of all. He likes the pretty colours and the way the petals fall like rain, and he likes when Draco lifts him up to push his small fingers through the heaps of flowers. It’s Draco’s favourite too, so he sits with Scorpius by the pond often, under the full, soft petals, and watches Scorpius scoop at the water with a conjured green fishing net. He uses his magic to make the petals fall close to Scorpius, and they kiss the water and unfurl inches from him, until they’re scooped up by the net and placed in a pile on the grass./Scorpius laughs each time he catches one, patting his chubby legs with glee./It makes Draco feel warm.

The blooming starts today!

Happy first day of May! Yay! Today officially marks the beginning of the 2024 Spring Round of HP Flowers! We're tapping into Prompt Card #1 this week, which has 4 lovely flowers/plant prompts to choose from. Prompts are photo and text based. A reminder that creators have the option to choose: 1 prompt or a couple, all of the prompts (should you choose the bouquet or display route), or none of them from this prompt card. Feel free to add other flowers/plants if you think they pair well with the challenge prompts. Don’t forget, you can also use any prompts from previous rounds! This week’s prompts are:

#25: “you’re being really bold for someone within tickling distance.”

Luna knows she's playing with fire, but that's what makes it fun.

"She acts so tough, but Ginny is really just a sweetheart," she tells Neville. "She's secretly a huge softie."

Neville chuckles, sneaking a glance up at Ginny, whose cheeks are beginning to flush. "Is that so?" he asks.

Luna nods. "Oh, yes. She'd never hurt a fly."

“You’re being really bold for someone within tickling distance," Ginny says, placing her book down and shooting a very unconvincing glare in her girlfriend's direction.

Butterflies emerge from their cocoons inside of Luna's belly at the threat, and she raises her brows as if to challenge her. "See what I mean? She can't even threaten me well."

Neville's brown eyes flick between the two girls, then he decides that he's been distracted from his homework for long enough. Once his gaze is averted, Ginny pounces on Luna from behind, arms wrapping around her waist and digging into her sides, making the Ravenclaw girl squeal.

"Is it really a threat if you were practically begging for it?" Ginny asks, her tone hushed and lips brushing the shell of Luna's ear, so that Neville doesn't hear above the sound of high-pitched, airy giggling.

Of course, Ginny is a sweetheart to her, but Luna knows this ruthless side well. The thing is, she would never be so mean if she thought Luna didn't like it. It worked well: Ginny got to uphold her ferocious persona by making her girlfriend a breathless, giggling mess, and Luna got to enjoy being reduced to one.

Summary: The war is over and everyone seems to be settling into the new normal, everyone except Luna. Luna can't stop waking up her roommates with nightmares, nightmares about the horror she experienced in Malfoy Manor, the horror she can't reveal to anyone. Unable to sleep one night, she runs into a certain red-head...
