New Adonis Acquati Artwork!!

My boy Adonis from "A Pearl in the Sea" has finally gotten new artwork done by the amazing B_Astora!

I'm seriously so happy how it turned out! And she even put in the concept idea I had for the listener/fisherman daughter character with a concept design of my merman prince character (name will be revealed soon).

I do have a story I've written that ties into what is happening in this scene. This will lead up to the audio drama/audio roleplay I've written that was voiced/produced by none other than Ycey Narrates.

I'll get a chance to edit the story and post it when I get the chance. In the meantime, enjoy the artwork!

Story Role/Character Type: Antagonist, Rival Pirate Captain, Drama Queen, Cursed Pirate Captain, Misnomer Name

Age: Somewhere in his early twenties (he doesn't really keep track)

Appearance: Scrawniest little shit you have ever seen. One slightly noticeable scar that goes over his eye. Dirty blonde hair that’s been chopped short. Wears an eyepatch for dramatics. Scary good with a sword, will cut a bitch without hesitation. Whiniest little shit ever. Rickey and beaten little abanonded ship bobbing on the sea vibes.

Strengths: very determined, very smart and pays close attention to everything, always thinking ahead

Weaknesses: vengeful, dramatizes everything, easily blinded by rage and vengence

Additional Notes: Loosely inspired by Alivn the Treacherous in the How to Train Your Dragon books and Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean. He’s the whiniest, pettiest little shit on Eltya’s seas. Insists that everyone call him Gar Face even though his scar is barely noticeable until HE points it out.

Vanessa in The Little Mermaid 2023 (spoilers)

So what's been confusing me since I watched it is that Vanessa is supposed to have Ariel/Ursula's voice (Ariel's voice when she wears the locket).

However, the little speaking lines that she does have when it isn't Ursula (I think that's Melissa McCarthy doing the "GET AWAY FROM HER! YOU'RE TOO LATE!!!"), it's this British voice (aka the actress portraying Vanessa, since Jessica is English).

My question: why didn't Disney have Halle dub over Vanessa's lines? 'Cause it's not just Ariel's singing voice in the locket, but her speaking voice as well. I feel like they should change that before they release it on streaming/home video.

A little mermaid retelling except she falls for the sea witch? Oh absolutely. Averil is a mermaid who dreams of being free, freed from her father's strict rules and free to make her own choices. When she saves a young man from a shipwreck she thinks she feels the Soul Echo- the sign that the human male is her one true mate... except suddenly the said to be malevolent Sea Witch appears and offers her a deal: in exchange for his help in winning the princes's heart (with the added bonus of coaching her in the art of seduction) she will offer him one favor at a later date. The Sea Witch is nothing like Averil expected, he's handsome and charming, The Sea Witch has ulterior motives for helping the daughter of his enemy: he wants revenge and he wants his trident back, and it doesn't hurt that Averil is the most beautiful mermaid he's ever seen. Averil thinks what she wants is her human prince but the more time she spends with him and the more time she spends with the Sea Witch, she's beginning to realize that one of them is not what they seem and that her heart might belong to the most unexpected person. This was a super spicy and fun retelling of the Little Mermaid (but she falls for the villain) and I enjoyed it! It's got a unique take and twist on the classic story and it was a fun one.

Story Updates

So, I am still working on Chrysalis and Whips as well as Roman + Isolda, the latter of which I hope to have finished by the end of the year.  My editor is working on the newest edits for Prelude to a Rapunzel Tale which will hopefully be available this year. It’s a short story so it shouldn’t take too long to edit. Unless I decide to add some scenes which I don’t see happening anytime soon since I feel like it is a done deal. Unless my editor thinks of some things to add.  I also saw a cartoon yesterday on facebook about how lemon sharks are possessive of divers and now I am making plans for a Little Mermaid Retelling focusing on a lemon mershark falling for a diver and making a pact with a coven of Killer Whales/Orcas to be human and court her. So far all plans to find a documentary on Lemon Sharks have failed but I am going to check a couple documentary channels I have access to along with YouTube and hopefully they will have some things. Also, looking for Orca/Killer Whale documentaries with a little more success but no idea how useful they will be for me since they are mainly about hunting so far.  I hope to have the review for The Serpent’s Shadow up on my website by Sunday. As well as a video on TikTok.  So, wish me luck.

No, no, that couldn’t be it, she wouldn’t- Swallowing and forcing her hands to stop shaking, she signed, keeping her motions deliberate and hard. “Where is Erica?” Felicity blinked, then signed firmly. “It couldn’t have been Erica. She wouldn’t.” “Where is she?” Felicity raised her hands to sign, but hesitated. “I... I don’t know.” Cassandra closed her eyes, forcing back salty tears that burned in the corners of her eyes.
