Y/N walked towards the blonde-haired man in the tan trench coat. He was sitting on a park bench watching the birds pick at the fallen bread crumbs left by old ladies. "Hello, Constantine."
The man turned towards him and narrowed his eyes. "Hello, Pillock." He then smirked slightly.
"So this is what you do now? A powerful warlock, who watches birds in the park?"
"Ah, fuck off." John Constantine said.
"I can't. I need your help."
"What kind of help?" John Constantine lit a cigarette and put it between his lips as he took a long drag and exhaled. Y/N watched the smoke go up and evaporate and waved the smell away.
"Magical. My boyfriend, Dick Grayson is under a curse and I need your help to break it." Y/N said.
"And why should I help you?"
"Because if you don't, I'll magic your testicles to another dimension and feed them to Etrigan."
I ducked as a bottle went flying over my head. Kidd smiled at me and shrugged. I rolled my eyes as I maneuvered over to him.
“where’s Edward?” I asked, yelling over the din of the bar.
“Last I heard he was scoping out the encampment.” He called back. I nodded and leaned against the bar. “He might have headed back to the jackdaw. I haven’t heard any commotion from that area so he didn’t get caught.” I nodded my thanks and started to make my way through the bar again. “(Y/N)! Be careful! Just because I haven’t heard anything, doesn’t mean there wasn’t something that happened.”
“thanks Kidd!” I called before pushing out into the sunlight. Turning around, I looked both ways before climbing up and heading to the roof. I squatted down and ran to the edge before jumping off. A Spanish patrol passed beneath me and I paused, trying to prevent them from hearing me. Once they passed, I continued on my way to the docks. I jumped from the building to a tree and climbed down.
“ah I see you’re training to be an assassin too.” Edward teased as he pushed off the boxes he was leaning against. “You made it just in time by the way. We’re just loading up now. We leave at sundown.” I nodded.
“Kidd told me what you did.” I said as I walked with him up the gangway. “Find anything useful?”
“I think we may need to go to Florida.” Edward said quietly.
“with half the Spanish armada and the British navy between us and there.” I pointed out. Edward nodded.
“I know.” He whispered. “We’re going to Cuba first. Make some upgrades to the jackdaw.” I nodded. “You trust me about this don’t you?” He asked, hand on my arm.
“course i do.” I said. “Teach in on this?” Edward shook his head. “Damn. We could use his firepower.”
“I asked about a ship or at least borrowing his cannons. He turned me down. Didn’t want to get involved anymore than he already is.” Edward sighed.
“fucking honor.” I muttered. Edward nodded.
“we’ll get through this.” He promised. I nodded and he squeezed my arm. “Hall anchor! Raise the top sail! We’re heading out!”

NBC Constantine, Arrow Constantine, Legends of tomorrow Constantine, animated Constantine… He lived and breathed that character for nearly a decade and damn, it shows. I feel spoiled and yet I want more…
I'm not joking when I say that man's performance is the sole reason why I discovered Hellblazer in the first place and why I now have something to look forward to in January when Simon Spurrier's new comics are released. ❤️
So thank you, Matt.
It was a Hell of a run, mate.
Pun bloody intended.
