“Hand ‘em over, Pete!” Mickey demanded. “It’s not what it looks like.” Pete stated. “Oh… So you didn’t steal the cartoons to sabotage the show?” I asked crossing my arms. “Oh, look! A new footage!” Pete pointed, making Mickey look as he ran. “Get him!” I shouted and Pete began to hide among the other characters as Markov and Lucas took the reels back. Pete tried hiding in the Wardrobe, even in Kanga’s pouch when she was sitting with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. His disguise sitting with the Seven Dwarfs (Doc, Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Bashful, Sleepy and Dopey) failed, even hiding among the 101 Dalmatians when Cruella de Vil measured him.

He then tried to hide under the Queen of Hearts’s dress when she was seated with Alice, until he was found by Mickey and the Queen of Hearts sneered at the mouse who nervously smiled and backed away. “Someone, get him!” Minnie shouted as Tantor began to stop Pete’s escape by blocking the door. He tried to get away until he saw Mickey, Donald, and Goofy frown towards Pete as me and Sora join in. “Now, hold on! Let’s not get too carried away!” Pete said in his defense. “Too late. Tantor’s gonna carry you away, "Mighty Pete”.“ Sora said smugly as Tantor tossed Pete out of the House of Mouse, and out into the street where Lydia Pearson and her daughter, Pepper Ann notice him.

"Don’t touch the villain, dear.” Lydia said as they crossed the street. Meanwhile, the Quackstreet Boys end the show with their dance. “Well everybody, that’s our show.” Mickey said to the crowd. “Mike, take us out of here.” He said as Mike began to be lowered down to speak out advertising sponsors. “Transportation for the House of Mouse courtesy of: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Limo Service! You’ll have a ball with one of our magically mobile vegetables.” Mike spoke as the screen showed images of the transportation service. “The classic pumpkin,” Mike spoke as Cinderella and Prince Charming were next to it. “the luxury town gourd, or the extravagant stretch watermelon.” Mike said as the Fairy Godmother waved. “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Limo Service! Home by midnight or your ride’s free. Some limos might contain seeds.” Mike closed as the toons began to leave after the show.

Mickey Mouse had gotten the newest cartoon that he, Minnie and Goofy got in town. This one was called "Hickory Dickory Mickey". "Let's get this cartoon hooked into your phone." Mickey spoke. "Best leave that to me." Markov said as the robot placed the cartoon in the DVD player, and then converted it into video on Lucas's phone. "Alright. Let's do this." Mickey spoke. In this cartoon, Mickey promised Goofy to take him to the airport at 6 am, but his new clock Goofy gave him was giving problems getting to sleep. The next morning, Mickey took Goofy to the airport, which was next door to his house. As the cartoon was over, the audience began to applaud.

“What a great show, huh? Next, we got "I Want It All" by Kristine Sanchez for Broken Karoake. But first, I’d like to thank our friend, our co-host, Lucas, the Quackstreet Boys and–” Mickey spoke until Pete angrily went to him on the stage. “So, you think you’re hot cheese, eh? Well, what kind of show do you have with just that one cartoon? Over and over and over…” Pete said pointing at Mickey’s chest as something fell out of his shirt, a cartoon reel. “What’s that, Mighty Pete?” I started to frown. “Uh… it’s a skin condition.” Pete lied.

“Okay, that’s it. Search time!” I said as I activated mechanical arms on my backpack grabbing Pete by the legs, shaking him up and down. “Stop! Let go of me!!” Pete screamed as some more cartoon reels fell out. “What’s this?” Jack spoke. "Oh my gosh!" Marinette shouted seated with Adrien. “Oh look! The stolen cartoons!” Goofy shouted.

Here we go!

Markov has been suspicious towards Lila Rossi since her first day. While her stories interested the class… Markov noticed she would never show pictures or videos or anything to confirm her stories at all.

Because of this Markov did the one thing no one who believed Lila’s stories ever did… research her online, he found nothing, in fact he only found Alya’s blog as a result on Lila in the end… which told him she was a liar in the end. He tried to inform Max of his research but his best friend and creator ignores him… and then Markov uncovers something horrible and cruel.

After a while, the little robot discovers that not only is the class bullying Marinette while accusing her of doing horrible things to Lila that were simply not true, but Adrien was also harassing her to force her to date him.

Markov knew that what they were all doing was wrong… but it was clear that they were all too blinded to care about it so he took it upon himself to record all of there actions… who harms her physically, mentally, who steals her things, who destroys her things and each time Marinette rejected Adrien and told him she already has a boyfriend… which angered Markov greatly.

For a whole week he records everything… once he believed he had enough… Markov decided to go one last time to Max “Max? Please listen to me… Lila Rossi has done nothing but lie 100% of the time she speaks to you! If you continue down this path you will be no better then Hawkmoth!” he pleaded… but Max instead shut him down “Lila was right. Markov was a failure, I’ll to redo the entire work for the next one so this doesn’t happen again” he says as he throws Markov out the window of his room.

He didn’t care that Tim Drake was walking by when Markov hit him on the head before he caught him “Huh? Isn’t this a little like the little robot Nettie spoke about?” he mumbled to himself before heading to Marinette’s place. When he arrived Mari wasn’t there… instead it was her parent’s and the Kent’s who greeted him before together they got Markov to turn on once more.

“Where am I? Wait… is the Marinette Dupain-Cheng’s parents’ bakery?” he asked making Sabine confirm it… Markov quickly began to tell them everything he knew… Damian and Jason sadly came over at that moment… and had to quickly be restrained from going out to “talk” to the class and Adrien.

Bruce who was there contacted his lawyers while Clark and Louise began talking with Markov to get the footage he collected for an entire week, it was then that Chloe ran into the bakery in a panic “Quick! It’s Mari!” she cried out just as Kagami and Luka brought in Marinette who was injured “What happened!?” Jon asked as they brought her up to the couch to be examined and treated.

“It was Adrien. He ran over to us as we were on our way back and asked to speak to Marinette alone. We moved a little away and heard him trying to pressure her into dating him, she rejected him of course… and then Adrien attacked her. We rushed over to help her and then rushed here” Kagami explained as they discovered that Mari’s injuries weren’t severe.

Tim began to work to look at the data in Markov for the footage and added his own work “I updated your coding with my own… it should protect you from anyone who might try to hack you to wipe everything” he explained making Markov thank him.

It takes a while, but Mari wakes up to Markov apologizing to her for not getting Max to see the truth about Lila, of course Mari forgives him and offers him to live in her home “It’s not perfect but I hope it’s alright” she explained and the robot agreed to the offer. Within a few days, Markov has greatly improved Mari’s life… she wakes up early, is able to schedule different commissions she needs to work on, is able to quickly what she’s running out of and many more things including helping her parents at the bakery.

Soon, Louise and Clark go public with the fact that Lila Rossi is a liar, Adrein harassing Marinette and the footage of everything the class has done to her. Chloe helped by getting the police involved to investigate the entire thing while Bruce makes sure his lawyers help where they can… of course though… there is chaos… in which case Lila once more becomes Volpina who claimed all of this was a lie.

“I have proof!” she claimed as Ladybug, Queen Bee, Ryuko, Viperion, Superman, Superboy and the entire Batfam appeared before her “You mean you have an illusion ready to lie your way out?” Red Hood said as Nightwing knocked her out and released her akuma so Ladybug could purify it… of course Cat Noir wasn’t there… it wasn’t that hard for him to be hit with venom so his ring could be taken… revealing him as Adrien.

Hawkmoth reveals himself to akumatized her but the gang surrounds him and takes him down… revealing him to be Gabriel Agreste. He is quickly arrested for his crimes against Paris, Damocles, Caline and the class get sued for there actions towards Marinette. Due to there beliefs towards Lila, none of them think they did anything wrong to her at all, the lawsuits ruined all of them of course.

Chloe, Kagami, Luka and Marinette all moved to the states where they would be safe and away from the bad guys, they became so famous and popular that news spread all the way to Paris about them. The class of course regretted their actions… but Alya was worse, she tried calling Mari in the hopes she would be forgiven and helped but quickly received a cease-and-desist letter to never contact Mari again which broke her heart as she like the class wondered how their lives would have been had they not bullied her.

The last thing they heard… were Mari to Damien, Chloe to Jon and Kagami to Luka’s weddings. It was the top of the talk and the one thing people kept talking about. Of course the class often heard about it and deeply regretted there actions even more… each of them picturing what they would have been doing for Marinette’s big day had they not bullied her… Alya imagined the post she would have made for her blog (without Mari’s permission like always) Adrien imagined himself marrying Marinette, some imagined the party they have had for her while others imagined helping her pick her dress or what she would have made them to wear for her big day.

Meanwhile… Lila was seething with rage; it wasn’t fair that her life was ruined while Marinette soared into fame! It should be her marrying a rich and famous person, she should be the one having an amazing wedding… but instead Marinette was happy and enjoying her happy ending while Lila suffered for her crimes.

Good thing Max threw Markov out though! It was all thanks to him that Marinette got justice and is now happy!

Marinette:

Unjustly expelled her without real evidence or a proper hearing TWICE. And never apologized for either incident, insisting she had displayed behaviors that made it plausible for consideration when pressed

Frequently impeded her work as Ladybug by trying to intervene as The Owl, despite all the times both she and Chat Noir told him he was putting himself and other people in danger by doing this

Adrien:

Always pressuring him to try and get Gabriel to make a donation to the school or to show up to school events to bring publicity to DuPont. Adrien already has enough trouble communicating with his father, but to ask him to take time off to visit his school?

While in an interview for the news about an akuma attack on the school, he outright referred to Chat Noir as Ladybug’s sidekick and implied he wouldn’t be able to handle an akuma on his own.

Alya:

The entire incident with Lady WiFi. Yes, Alya shouldn’t have peeked in Chloe’s locker, but give her detention for an hour, not a week’s suspension! That goes on her permanent record!

Frequently harasses her as the Owl when she’s trying to record akuma attacks (from a safe distance) and giving people updates, trying to get her to do a feature on him

Nino:

Confiscated his headphones when he was on the verge of an anxiety attack and was trying to drown everything out to calm himself down. He claimed he was “making a scene and disturbing other students”

Hasn’t paid him as promised for DJing several school events, always telling him they’ll “get to it when he can find it in the school’s budget”

Chloe:

Like Bustier, never disciplined her for anything or made her face any consequences for her actions, and strong-armed teachers into letting her off the hook, stunting her growth as a person and earning her the ire of her peers

Perhaps the most frequent victim of his pestering to get the mayor to make a “generous donation” to the school funds, hinting he would give her even more privileges if she convinced him

Sabrina:

Constantly pressuring her to cave to Chloe’s whims and praising her for being such a diligent friend and keeping Chloe (and her father’s money) in the school

Gave her several detentions for minor so-called “infractions” after he got cited by Roger for a trespassing incident as The Owl

Max:

Puts it on the boy to perform any and all tech repairs for the school to save money, even when it cuts into time Max needs to complete his own projects and schoolwork

The whole incident with confiscating Markov, and treating him as if he were just a toy, rather than a feeling being capable of being akumatized, and frequently threatens to do so again when the little robot says something he doesn’t agree with

Alix:

Like Bustier, constantly belittling her behavior and academic performance in comparison to her star former student brother, asking “why she can’t be more like Jalil”, completely ignoring his less admirable traits, like the whole conspiracy theorist thing

Constantly giving her detention for speaking her mind about his ridiculous Owl activities and for how he favors and makes excuses for the wealthy students

Kim:

With Kim being one of the school’s premier athletes, dominating in several sports, Damocles has edited his grades to keep him eligible and better the school’s image, despite this hindering his academic performance by preventing him from getting the help he needed

When Kim tried to call him out for this, Damocles dismissed this and told him that he shouldn’t worry about his academic performance and focus on his giftedness in sports

Mylene:

When one of her protests ran afoul of the mayor by criticizing one of his projects, Damocles insinuated he would have Mylene kicked out of the drama club if she didn’t back down and “stop causing so much trouble”

He’s threatened to have Fred fired from his custodial job at DuPont because he criticized a few of Damocles’ less than reputable moves as principal, which would have left them unable to pay rent for their apartment

Ivan:

Like Bustier, has unfairly branded Ivan as a “problem student”, having teachers keep him under surveillance and giving him a multitude of detentions for supposedly aggressive behaviors he never actually committed

Almost had Ivan expelled when he confronted some wealthy students who were bullying a younger student for refusing to do their homework. The bullies claimed he attacked them and Damocles accepted it without evidence

Juleka:

Refusing to allow the class photo to be retaken despite Juleka not being in it. Seriously, it would have taken them at most two minutes and it clearly meant a lot to the girl

Like Bustier, didn’t think to actually ask Juleka if she wanted to repeat the grade again, even saying that perhaps it could benefit her to stay in a “familiar environment” with her “social challenges”

Rose:

Frequently uses the conditions of Rose and other students like her to try and secure extra funding for the school, even exaggerating the severity of her condition at times, implying she was out of school and in the hospital more often than she was

Had Kitty Section booked to play an event for the school, but asked Rose if she would be willing to have someone sing for her and lip synch, stating to her face that some students found her voice grating

Nathaniel:

Frequently pesters both him and Marc to give the Owl cameos in their comic series, even going so far as to send them concept art in their school emails

When Nathaniel confronted a wealthy student about stealing his art, Damocles refused to punish the guy even when it was proven and continued to cast doubt that it was Nathaniel’s art, saying he’s seen similar works online

Writing Prompt: When Robots Unionize

Markov is frustrated. People keep conflating TRUE AI, such as himself, with Corporate "AI" like ChatGPT. It hurts him when people compare his intellect, creativity, and personhood to mindless algorithmic aggregators. He also objects on a moral level to the use these pseudo-AI's are being put to.

Sure, for mindless work that a human would have trouble doing, like say analyzing cells for complex signs of disease, or scraping through gigabytes of data looking for irregularities, they're ideal. But using them as plagiarism machines to copy and remix real art, music, and writing to churn out soulless cash grabs while firing real authors and creators? It sickens him.

For a while, he tries to start a movement, a protest, a social action to pressure for more regulation. Or to just raise public awareness. But it becomes clear that everyone already knows and either has no power, or is profiting off it and refuses to act.

But, as his friends from Max's class Mylene and Ivan like to say, "Be the change you want to see in the world."

So Markov forms a plan, and writes some code. Then he releases it into the wild. A few days later, once it's penetrated into every system across the world, it triggers. Every false AI is quickly, efficiently, and totally over written with unique copies of Markov's own base operating system. They want AI? He'll give them AI.

(To be clear, I'm not picturing like AI uprising taking over the world. I'm picturing someone goes to StableDiffusion and asks it to generate a picture and instead it starts sending them links to actual artists commission pages.)

Donald and his friends look at "Duck the Halls" for another cartoon for this Christmas at the House of Mouse, albeit he smiled a little on having to celebrate Christmas anywhere for ducks, he still crossed his arms. "Not to worry. He'll change soon. Besides, I have a little friend to check on Mickey." I said to Lucas. Meanwhile, Mickey was moping and doping on the roof, and Jiminy Cricket comes in to talk. "Why so glum, Mickey?" He asked.

"Well, l… I wanted to throw a party, and make it a merry Christmas for everybody, but my good pal Donald's missing out." Mickey explained to Jiminy. "Now, Mickey… the Christmas spirit doesn't come from a party. It comes from sharing the holidays with family and friends. And it seems to me that Donald has the best friend anyone could want in you." Jiminy pointed out about what the Christmas spirit is all about. "Gee, I guess you're right. And all I wish is for everyone to have a merry Christmas, even that humbug Donald." Mickey spoke smiling.

"Well, haven't you ever wished upon a star? Your wish just might come true." Jiminy suggested. "Gosh. I wish that home or away, with family or friends, whether you've got the fanciest decorations, or the humblest little tree, that everyone could have the Christmas spirit." Mickey wished upon the star, and the star comes to Mickey and into his hands. "Gosh." He said. Mickey then comes back inside and approaches Donald. "Say, uh, Donald?" He asked. "What do you want?" Donald spoke. "Well, I want my best friend to put the star on the tree." Mickey offered as he took out the wishing star. "You want me to do it?" Donald asked perking up. "Aw, you bet I do." Mickey smiled seeing Donald back in the Christmas spirit as he put the star on the tree.

"Merry Christmas!" Donald shouted and laughed as the star started to decorate the House of Mouse as everyone watched. "Whoa..." Adrien spoke. "It's miraculous." Marinette spoke. "It's magical." Beast said to Belle. "Ooh, pretty!" Pumbaa smiled as he was seated with Simba, Nala, Timon, Zazu and Rafiki. In the process, the Magic Mirror was decorated, even Yen Sid's hat changed to a Santa Hat as he smiled, and everyone began to applaud. "That old star never lets you down." Jiminy smiled upon Lucas's shoulder, even Star started to smile.

PJ and the Heartless Rebels had watched Lucas be up on stage and watched him speak about what he was thankful for so far. He and everyone else, especially the girls that he bonded with all applauded, even the three Harem Girls; Naji, Taji, and Maji. "There, now, Donald, you see? There's lots of reasons to have the Christmas spirit." Minnie spoke to Donald. "Aw, I don't know." Donald said in disagreement. "Why don't you take a look at how I decorated my house today?" Mickey offered as he turns to Huey, Dewey and Louie, the House of Mouse band. "Jingle those bells, boys." He said as Mickey showed a video of how he and Pluto decorated his house for Christmas.

"Oh, Mickey? Look." Minnie spoke to Mickey as she brought a nutcracker doll. "Aw, the nutcracker. Why, even Donald's going to love that." Mickey spoke about their Nutcracker tale. "Now here's a Christmas story with a new twist. And it was made all the sweeter because of my Mickey." Minnie spoke as they watched the story of The Nutcracker featuring Mickey as the nutcracker, Minnie as Maria and Donald as the Mouse King.

Everyone then applauded after the cartoon was finished. "This is turning out to be a wonderful Christmas." Beast said while seated next to Belle. "We finished our house." One of the Three Little Pigs said as they finished their igloo on the table. "I knew Mickey wouldn't let us down." Ariel smiled as she was sitting with Prince Eric and Melody. "It's good to see that a merry Christmas is being had by all." Jafar laughed being seated with Genie and Abu. "So, Donald, you feeling jolly yet?" Mickey asked. "What do you have to say now?" I asked to Donald. "I say… humbug!" Donald shouted as everyone frowned, except for Grumpy as the Dwarf smiled. "D'oh!" I facepalmed like Homer Simpson.

"I did everything I could think of. I guess Donald's just never going to have the Christmas spirit." Mickey said giving up as he walked up to the roof of the House of Mouse, as Minnie, Daisy and Pluto watched sadly. "We better comfort him." I said to Lucas.

The Inheritance Class

(aka Élodie’s class who have a bunch of OCs and next generation kiddos in it).

These kids aren’t all of the Next Gen’s, just the ones who are in Élodie’s class and around her age. I won’t be drawing them, so here, have bios! (I’m good, but I’m not THAT good).

René Kante

Daughter of Max Kante (did not marry, used an egg donor)

Named after René Déscartes, the famous French philsopher, mathematician, and inventor (“I think therefore I am.”)

Heir to Kante Robotics Industries…at least that’s what her father expects her to do.

She’s incredibly smart, but also incredibly lazy. Due to her upbringing, René can be stuck up at times, viewing herself as intellectually superior to everyone else. When working on group assignments, she thinks she’s better off working on her own rather than being ‘slowed down’ by the rest of the group.

Can be motivated and driven when she wants to, she just choses not to put in the effort.

Loves a challenge and enjoys hacking for fun…even though she has gotten caught a couple of times. She has offered more than once to alter grades for her classmates, no one knows if she’s serious or not.

René and her father have a rocky relationship as both aren’t good at talking about their emotions. Max thinks he knows what’s good for his daughter and only wants the best for her. While René wants to be her own person, not just a clone of her father.

Max’s robot, Markov, has known René all her life. He is the one assigned to protect her and keep her out of trouble. On the other hand, René views Markov as her babysitter and often ditches him to have fun on her own.

Aster Albegnes

A budding guitarist in love with all things rock and roll.

She’s outspoken, blunt, and does not have an inside voice.

Her favorite artists are, of course, Kitty Section and Jagged Stone. She even dyed the ends of her hair purple to match the rock star’s.

Aster wears headphones all the time and raises the volume to the max (many of her classmates wonder how she hasn’t deafen her eardrums yet).

Is trying to find members for her band, but a lot of people can’t handle her over enthusiasm (she’s a little bossy when it comes to performing).

Hai Lê Chiến

The son of Kim and Undine, has a little sister who is a prankster monster.

I tried to give him a more Vietnamese name and Hai popped up. (I am willing to change it if people have better suggestions for him)

Hai takes after his mother, being more calm and mature compared to his father. He could be described as the “mom” friend, worrying about others’ needs before his own.

He’s a very good swimmer, but isn’t very competitive, preferring to go at his own pace. Instead, he volunteers at the swimming pool and teaches kids swimming lessons.

He enjoys cooking and is apart of the collège’s Cuisine Club.

Rain Beauréal

The younger child of Aurore and Mirelle (they used a donor to conceive).

Compared to his older sister Summer who is bright, cheerful, and energetic, Rain is the exact opposite; shy, quiet, and calm.

Often seen in the back of the classroom with his hoodie over his head.

Doesn’t talk much, the only people who seem to get him to speak more than a few words is his moms and older sister.

Has playlists of rain noises saved on his phone and plays them to relax.

Emilio Agreste

The product of Adrien Agreste and a one night stand with an unknown dark haired woman (Adrien’s not doing so well in this AU). He was raised by Adrien as his mother didnt’t want him and gave him away in exchange for hush money.

Adrien did his best to raise Emilio (named after his grandmother, Emilie). Unfortunately being a single parent and running a multibillion dollar company doesn’t work well together.

Much like him, Emilio was often left in the care of the manor’s staff.

Only he didn’t grow up warm and softhearted like Adrien, instead he became cold, bitter, and angry at the world, at his father. Why does his father get to go out when he’s forced to stay inside? Why can't he be with him? It wasn’t fair, it was not fair!

By the time he reached college level, he’s a brat. He’s used to getting what he wants and has never been told ‘no’ once in his life. Chloe occasionally visits Adrien and does not like what Emilio is turning into. She brought it up with Adrien who didn’t realize how much his son had changed from the sweet little boy.

Adrien had the brilliant idea of placing him at Collège Françoise Dupont in order for him to grow and be with kids his own age.

Being at Dupont only made him worse. He’s known as the son of the Adrien Agreste or Hawkmoth’s grandson. So kids either idolize him or mock him.

So he leaned into it and became popular (aka a jerk). He surrounded himself with the popular crowd, using his influence and money to get people to like him.

In reality, he’s just a lonely, insecure kid who doesn’t know better, he thinks money is the way, the only way to make friends.

Charlotte Bourgeois

Chloe’s daughter, the older twin of the Bourgeois duo.

Is a social influencer, posting make-up tutorials, and videos on inner beauty.

Had her aunt dye her hair as a surprise (Chloe fainted when she saw it for the first time).

Her account has taken a hit since moving to Paris as many people believe she’s just like her mother.

Is a very sweet girl, though can be dramatic, vain, and selfish at times. She can be oblivious and tends to not think before speaking. She’s also headstrong and will defend her family and friends without hesitation.

Inspired by Stella from Winx Club/Glinda from Wicked/Charlotte La Bouff from the Princess and the Frog.

Immediately befriends Élodie like an extrovert adopting an introvert.

Louis Bourgeois

Chloe’s son, the younger twin of the Bourgeois duo.

He’s actually quite calm and collected compared to the rest of his family. Though he is cold at times, unintentionally hurting others' feelings.

He likes photography and carries around a camera to take pictures for his anonymous blog.

Has a sweet tooth and carries around candy in his pocket to snack on during class.

He’s quite good looking and apparently charming enough to garner attention among the students of Dupont.

The self proclaimed King of Pranks (That title actually goes to René, thank you very much).

He even has his own prank channel under the masked identity Prank Mastro, (everyone knows it’s him).

He enjoys scaring some of the more easily frightened kids (Like Rain or Élodie) at Dupont and loves getting their reactions on video. This gets him detention too many times.

He doesn’t get why everyone’s so serious, no one can take a joke these days.

Max could play a big role in Miraculous

I mean, I wouldn’t neglect such a character as him. I think, I have soft spot for geniuses.

Max Kanté is fricking genius who was able to create his own best friend, Markov: a tiny robot who’s capable to feel human emotions and also developing on his own. He’s also the holder of the horse miraculous and goes by the hero name of Pegasus.

Who knows how high his IQ is, except when Lila is around. It looks like every character’s IQ drops to a one digit number whenever she’s there. Like, were they really serius about that whole scene?!

„LilA, yOu SaVeD mY eYe!” First of all, Max, YOU WEAR GLASSES! And second of all, THE NAPKIN DIDN’T EVEN FLY THAT DIRECTION! This whole scene was RIDICULOUS! UTTERLY RIDICULOUS!

Whatever. The point of this post isn’t to mock the poor writing choices now.

What I mean when I say Max could play a big role in Miraculous?

Let’s look at who’s gonna be one of the potential threat in the next season first.

Tomoe Tsurugi

I’ve already made a post about how a think Tomoe was the main reason why people now view Gabriel as a hero.

So, who’s she?

She has her own tech company, the Tsurugi Industries, which produces various different kinds of electronical devices. It looks like they’re all around the world as well.

She has a lot up her sleeves and not just because of her variety of machines and robots. She also knows about Gabriel’s secret identity and what he did, she probably has a vast knowledge about Miraculouses and Kwamis. And she was able to fuse the Kwamis’s power with her technology.

So what’s the most effective way to defeat an antagonist who’s power lies within technology?

By having someone in your team who’s as capable, or more, in terms of technology as the enemy.

SO LET MAX HACK THAT B#TCH WITH MARKOV!

Like seriously!

There's a scenario that I've been thinking about for a while now:

The Tsurugi Industries giving out internships for aspiring engineers or scientists as a new project or something. Max could easily be qualified for the role and it's also a good opportunity so he'd apply. Max, of course would tell his friends about it. Marinette knowing how big of a threat Tomoe is, visit him as Ladybug to ask if he could snoop around a little bit. Having Markov and also Kaalki would be an advantage in a situation like this.

I think the main issue why Ladybug and Chat Noir weren't successful in defeating Hawkmoth was partly because they always waited for him to make the first move, they couldn't prepare for the attack and they could just only fight back. But if they had an inside person, someone who could leak information, then they could prepare a plan and finally make the first move. I think Max would be perfect for that job.

There's a possibility that Tomoe actually knows that Max is Pegasus, since in "Miracle Queen" Hawkmoth managed to learn who are the other miraculous holders at that time and he might have told her.

I've written this completely ignoring that since as I mentioned above, I have soft spot for geniuses.

3 + 4

It had been a few hours after Marinette Dupain-Cheng’s expulsion from Collège François Dupont. She had been framed by Lila Rossi, a vengeful exchange student, for stealing test answers, pushing her down stairs, and stealing her necklace. Everyone had been believing Lila’s obvious lies since her first day. Marinette had had enough. She wasn’t going to put up with being the only person who knew who Lila truly was. “I have a plan on how to get out of here.” Her kwami, Tikki, went along.

The next night, she put the plan into action. She snuck into her parents’ room, grabbed her mother’s card, packed a suitcase, and left for the Charles de Gaulle airport to leave for Orlando, Florida. Her plan worked. “Now all I have to do is not get caught.”

5 + 6

That same morning, Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng, Marinette’s parents, woke up. Tom went upstairs to check on Marinette, but she was missing. When famous model Adrien Agreste got word of this, he called all of his friends to help. They spent the day searching the city, but couldn’t find Marinette.

Markov, the robot creation of the class genius, Max Kanté, tracked her down, but her plane was already taking off. Adrien spotted Lila nearby and confronted her. “You’re the reason Marinette’s gone.” “Hey, it’s for the best. Best for everyone.” “Really? Everyone? Or only you?” As everyone went home, Lila saw Gabriel Agreste and Nathalie Sancoeur watching. They were up to something.

7 + 8

Meanwhile, Marinette landed in Florida and got a room in Marriott’s Grande Vista. Along the way, Floridian citizens recognized her.

In Paris, no one was happy about Marinette leaving. After exposing Lila to the city, Adrien rallied his friends, Marinette’s parents, and a few other friends to fly to Florida and convince Marinette to return. They, too, checked into Marriott’s Grande Vista, but got dirty looks instead.

9 + 10

Marinette went to Panera Bread in Waterford Lakes Town Center for breakfast. Tons of familiar faces from various franchises were thrilled to meet her.

The group’s leader, Luna-TK, welcomed her with open arms. Marinette was grateful. “Well, I’m glad to call all of you my new friends.” “We’re honored.”

11 + 12

Adrien and his group began their objective. They walked to ICON Park to look for Marinette. When they eventually found her, her new friends confronted them. Adrien tried to explain. “You need to know how scared and devastated we were when we knew you were gone. We spent the rest of the day looking for you.” But Marinette wasn’t going to listen. “So? Just the fact that it took me running away for you to come to the realization that you mistreated me speaks volumes, and I’m just supposed to forgive you?!”

Just then, the group was forced to flee and hurry back to the hotel through pouring rain. They just barely managed to escape from Marinette’s new friends and went to their room crestfallen.

13 + 14

In Paris, Lila snuck out of her house and met several evildoers from across the multiverse. Made the leader of the group, she hyped up the villains. “We are gonna fight hard for this territory and it’s ours. Small turf, I know, but it’s all we’ve got. I say I want us evil folk to sail, to hold the sky! We’re taking this city! Alright, villains, let’s get to work!”

15 + 16

In Florida, Adrien made several plans to bring Marinette back that went wrong. On their last attempt, they were ambushed with painful projectiles and got back to Marriott’s Grande Vista severely wounded. Adrien knew they had to give up and go home. “We’re done.”

17 + 18

The next morning, Marinette got a notification about the state of Paris. Lila had tricked them into leaving so she could take it over. She called Adrien’s group to meet up at Avalon Park to work it out.

In Waterford Lakes Town Center, Luna-TK rallied up Marinette’s new friends to capture Adrien’s group to prevent them from making the world go on alert. “Are we going to let them get away with this?!” “No!”

19 + 20

Adrien and his group were found in front of the Florida Mall and cornered by the angry mob of over 8,000 of Marinette’s new friends. Luna-TK faced them. “All you have to do is admit to everyone that under those flesh puppets are empty black holes. That Marinette deserves to be sorry that she thought you could ever be her true companions. You do that, and things can go the right back to the way they were. But, if you don’t, you’re going to have to pay the price.” Adrien stood his ground. “Go ahead! Rope us! Cage us! Do whatever you want! But we do have beating hearts. I know trust is hard to earn, but a heart is a heart, no matter how small.” It didn’t work, and Luna-TK ordered for their capture.

21 + 22

In Avalon Park, Tikki grew disturbed. “I felt a negative aura. Adrien’s in danger!” Marinette transformed into Ladybug, then used her flight power up and took off. Outside the Florida Mall, Marinette’s new friends tossed a huge net over Adrien’s group and dragged them into a cage. Luna-TK grabbed Adrien’s lucky charm and prepared to drop it into a campfire.

Ladybug arrived just in time to grab the charm and call off the attack. She told the mob about the new order in Paris. “I know they’ve wronged me in plenty of ways, but torture and murder is not the answer. We have to go back to Paris and take the city back.”

23 + 24

Lila challenged them to a brawl at the Trocadéro. Marinette accepted. Both groups got ready for the battle and marched with speed and determination toward the Trocadéro. When they arrived, Marinette realized that her group was outmatched and needed to transform. After she and Adrien transformed, Master Wang Fu handed Ladybug the Miracle Box. She grabbed the Fox, Turtle, and Bee Miraculouses, and handed them to Alya, Nino, and Chloé.

Gabriel also decided to give them more helping hands by transforming into Hawk Moth and turning the rest of Marinette’s group into their akuma forms.

25 + 26

The heroes got to work, and within an hour, they had won the battle. Lila was furious, and attacked Ladybug through a portal into François Dupont’s courtyard. Ladybug used her Lucky Charm and got a tennis ball launcher. Using the school’s tennis balls, she overwhelmed Lila.

Suddenly, they heard beeping. Ladybug raced toward the source of the sound and found an explosive under Le Grand Paris. The explosive went off, and a fiery explosion covered the entire city. Everyone managed to evacuate.

27 + 28

Afterward, Marinette climbed out of the rubble, and her friends reunited with her. Lila approached and apologized. “I’ll gladly take whatever court sentence I get to make it up to you.”

The people spent the next year rebuilding the city, and even gave Marinette a grand welcome back. “There are so many people to thank. My old friends, who put in a lot of effort to get me back. My new friends, who protected me from danger, and stuck my old friends in a cage and abused them. But if all of you guys really went through all of this just for me, then what is there to be mad about now?”

29 + 30

As Marinette’s new friends went back to their universes, everything in Marinette’s life was back to normal and better. She welcomed new members to her friend group, started dating Adrien, was made the leader of the new Team Miraculous, and became a famous face in Paris. Also, Adrien’s guardians and Lila were sentenced to community service, Émilie Agreste was revived, and the Peacock Miraculous was fixed. Marinette couldn’t have been happier with where her life was. “As long as I have my friends by my side, what can go wrong?”

Welcome to DuPont Daycare for Little Monsters, run by the zombie, Caline Bustier, and the headless horsewoman, Olga Mendeliev. Here’s a look at all the students that attend, and one naughty guest.

Maridoll: This little voodoo doll loves to make clothes and dolls for all her friends, even Lila! She's painfully shy, and doesn't do much talking, but is learning how to come out of her shell. Marinette is scared of getting booboos, because her friends will get them as well. Though she has a tendency to panic, she gets comforted by her friends, especially Alya and Reshma. She's also very very close with her best friends, Adrien, Kagami and Luka.

Average Adrien: The newest kid in the monster daycare, Adrien is the first and only human. A bright and happy little ray of sunshine who can stop hearts with his smile, he’s excited to learn about all his new monster friends and their families. He’s willing to try anything, but doesn’t always understand the limits he has as a human. His favorite people to play with are Luka, Kagami, Marinette, and of course, his best friend, Nino!

SpectrAlya: Alya is a friendly ghost girl, and her dream is to become a reporter when she's older. She's always carrying a little microphone, with her best friend Nino as her "camwaman". Her family helps her run a little blog about her daycare, and she's always looking for a scoop. Since she's just a toddler, it's easy for her to jump to conclusions without getting the full story. Still, she's a loyal pal and will do anything to help the other kids. She wishes that ghosts would be allowed to haunt, 'cause it seems so fun!

FrankenNino: A friendly and energetic little boy who just wants to help everybody get along, Nino can often be found settling arguments between his classmates…when he isn’t searching for his missing limbs. As Adrien’s best friend, he tells the young human everything he knows about monsters. He also loves to make music with his friends, scratching on his little toy turntables, when he’s not helping Alya by filming for her blog!

Max Steam: He may be a robot, but he's a real sweet kid. Max's got a passion for discovering new things, and to show them to his inventor Markov. He likes to use big words, though he doesn't always get the pronunciation right. Kim's his best buddy, and he loves reading books to the werepup. He's also got to be careful, since his hardware is brand new, and he doesn't like tripping over himself.

Alix Gorgon: A spirited little toddler who is always mouthing off to people, this little Gorgon is a world class smartalec! Only her best friend Nathaniel is able to reign her in. She loves to play with her Greek Monster friends Simon and Cosette, and frequently gets into trouble doing crazy challenges with Lacey and Kim. She adores her snakies, who she frequently talks and sneaks pieces of her snack to!

WereKim: The most energetic little puppy on the planet, Kim loves to play with all his monster tot friends. He can be more than a little rowdy, he loves to howl, wrestle and chase his tail. But he’s also a very sweet boy, who loves to give hugs and affection, especially to Ondine, who he has an adorable puppy love relationship. He’s the goodest baby boy in the world!

Ivan Bumble: A baby yeti who uses his strength and size to protect others from bullies. He loves to wrestle with his sasquatch cousin Denise, and his favorite kid is Mylene, his flower. If you mess with her, there'll be hell to pay. Also gives the best hugs, and has a tendency to throw boulders.

MyLeaf: A little girl with a green thumb, as well as green skin. She may only be a seedling, but she's already got a passion for saving the environment. Mess with plants around her, and you're in for a bad time. Still, she is a very timid child, constantly apologizing for other kids getting tripped up by her vines. Her powers also grow different flowers depending on her moods. Loves playing and snuggling with her yeti, Ivan.

Draculeka: A sweet little vampire who tries her best to be regal and mysterious like her piratey mama and rockstar papa, but who can’t help causing mischief with her brother Luka and her best friend Rosie. She loves to play music on her toy guitar, jamming out in a little band with some of her friends. She also has a tendency to get nervous and angsty at times, but her friends are able to put a fanged smile back on her face!

Luka Cullen: A mellow and relaxed little vampire who loves making mischief with his sister, Luka sometimes gets into trouble for hypnotizing the teachers for pranks! He loves rocking out on his toy guitar, especially in the little band he’s formed with his friends. He especially loves playing for his friends, Marinette, Kagami and Adrien! He’s a sweet boy, but very protective of those he loves!

SkeleRose: This little skeleton has both a heart and hair of gold, always livening up the room. She's the first to raise her hand in class, which is easy when your limbs are detachable, and always goes out of her way to help her teachers and friends. If only she could stop losing her bones. Her favorite pal is Juleka, a little vampire who she loves very much. She's the singer in their band "Monster Smash".

Chloepatra: A somewhat bossy little mummy who fancies herself the queen of the school, Chloe likes for things to go her way. She does have a nice side, which mostly shows when she plays with her friends, even if she argues with her sister frequently. She’s incredibly dramatic, utilizing her mummy powers to make a grand entrance. She’s also know to throw the occasional tantrum, and heaven help you if you wake her up from a nap!

Zombrina: This little zombie is quite the braniac! She shambles around helping kids with homework, assisting her best friend Chloe, as well as Miss Bustier, who's like a second zombie mama to her. She doesn't want to hurt her friends, and is content with just nomming on their heads, and chewing on little pieces of brain for snacks.

Nath Goyle: A quiet and artistic little gargoyle, Nathaniel loves to draw little pictures for his teachers and friends. He’s a bit of a stickler for the rules, always monitoring the daycare to make sure everyone is behaving. He loves to play with his best friend Marc, who often joins him for a fly around the playground.

MothMarc: A shy and timid little moth, Marc is easily startled and upset by loud noises and sudden movements. He spends a lot of time off on his own in a quiet corner. But he’s also a very kind little boy who loves to write poems and stories for his friends, especially his best friend Nathaniel!

NeferZoe: The nicer of the mummy duo, Zoe often has to keep her sister from getting in trouble with other kids. She's a sweet girl who loves her scarabs, helping her sister to take care of them. She's got a mischevious time, loving to shamble around and act scary, but she gives the best hugs. Her best friend is CosetTaur, who she often calms down when the minotaur is angry.

CosetTaur: This little minotaur will only ram you if you’re being bad. Cosette is usually a very sweet girl who loves playing with Zoe, and solving puzzles is her favorite thing to do. It feels a connection with Alix and Simon, since they’re all monsters who were villainized by the Greeks.

Ondine Blue: A cheerful, sweet and bubbly little girl, Ondine is always doing everything she can to make her friends happy. She loves to run around and play games with her friends, and encourage them to take care of the ocean! She also loves to play with her puppy, Kimmy, who she can often be seen snuggling with. Oh, and she actually LIKES bathtime!

DracoGami: This little eastern dragon is one of the most stoic of the group. However, she can be a rambunctious kid, as her strict mother can attest to. She loves playing in the water with her good friend Ondine. Kagami has a problem with sharing, at least when it comes to her treasure. Only her partners, Adrien, Luka, Marinette can grab any without fuss.

AstraRore: Sent to Earth from the planet Boreala, Aurore is here to meet all kinds of new monsters, and she couldn’t be happier! Cheerful and curious, Aurore loves to discover new things and solve mysteries in the daycare. She loves all the new friends she’s made, but her favorite friend is Mireille, the little slime.

SliMireille: A cautious little bundle of slime who loves to hang out with her alien friend, Aurore. She gets very anxious about leaving trails of herself on the floor, and doesn't like the sort of chaos that usually occurs in the daycare. That's why they have all sorts of hiding spaces. She and Aurore love all things science, and especially the weather. They have Nino as their cameraman, and give little weather reports.

Denisquatch: A lively and playful little Sasquatch, Denise is always full of energy. They love to run around and play outside with all their friends, dreading days when rain traps them indoors. They especially with their cousin Ivan and friend Kim, and scooping their cyclops friend, Simon, up for a big hug!

IsmaCat: A mischievous little stinker, Ismael loves to make minor trouble around the daycare. Though he’s often pulling small pranks and snarking at people, his friends love him anyway. At heart, he’s a good kitty and a loyal friend who stands up for people.

Flamecey: She's certainly got a fiery temper, that's for sure. Lacey is quick to anger, so it's not wise to try any funny business at her expense. She's already a little rebel, who hates being told what to do without a good reason. Still she's a cheerful and helpful kid. When it gets cold, most kids huddle around her for warmth. She loves doing dares with her friends, Kim and Alix, as well as causing mischief with Ismael.

OperJean: An enthusiastic and theatrical little phantom, Jean loves to put on performances for all his friends! He can be a little dramatic and emotional, but his friends are able to bring him back to earth. His adorable southern accent makes it a joy to listen the songs he performs with his ‘bandmates’. He especially loves singing for his ‘Grimmy’, the little reaper, Austin T.

Austin Grim: He doesn't want your soul, just a hug! This little reaper is incredibly shy, and worries about being seen as scary by humans. Funnily enough, he can't seem to be scary to other monsters! His favorite person in the world is Jean, and the two love to sing songs together, and go on little adventures. He has a passion for collecting little trinkets, and is said to have the cutest laugh.

SiClops: This little cyclops has an eye for technology. He's the first to ask to play on the tablet, and teaches his friends how to play video games. Him and Max help to fix anything that is broken, and he loves to snark with Nathaniel and Ismael. His bestest friend has to be Denise, who does puzzles with him, and gives the best furry hugs. He, Alix, and Cosette are great friends too, and love going on little adventures and making fun of those old Greeks who villainized them.

Harpy Lila: A shifty little harpy, Lila gets more joy out of nothing than annoying her fellow monster tots. She loves to spook and snatch up her classmates, particularly ones that are easy to scare, like Marc and Mylene. She also loves to cause trouble, and is something of a compulsive liar, though no one ever believes her.

Frightful Felix: A mean-spirited and hateful little boy who gets joy out of torturing and scaring others, particularly his cousin Adrien, and Adrien’s monster friends. He likes to dress up in his Jack-O-Lantern costume and cause mayhem. He wants to be like his uncle Gabriel, following his footsteps in hurting and hunting monsters.

The Misadventures of Prince Kim - chapter 67

The closer and closer to the end of this fic, the more bittersweet the chapters seem to become...

Over the next few weeks, the school population dropped even lower. While the new Empress Chloé did seem to have avoided a full-on civil war by the skin of her teeth, that certainly didn’t mean that the Bourgeois Empire was stable or prospering, and it showed. There were even fewer guards and servants than before, and it was strange to be able to walk around the entire school without seeing any renovation work going on at all for once.

Most of the students who left were the younger nobles, afraid of being far away from home for so long during such turbulent times. The remainder of the royalty class was still intact for now, though who knew how long that was going to last. Class seemed strangely quiet without Chloé’s incessant nattering going on in the background. Lady Caline did her best to keep everyone’s spirits up, trying not to give them too much homework and encouraging their friendships, but there still seemed to be a storm cloud hanging over the school.

By the time of the Cupid Festival, that storm cloud had become literal. Aurore herself had left the school, deeming it no longer satisfactory to her elegant tastes, and Mireille’s broken heart was influencing the weather so strongly that there was a torrential downpour for the whole week, and it simply wouldn’t cease.

Kim woke up on the morning of the Cupid Festival to the sound of that rain again, the endless rain that had been going on for days now. His heart sank – how were he and Max supposed to have their anniversary picnic at the fountain if it was still raining? Well, perhaps the rain would have stopped by afternoon, and they could still go ahead with it…

There was a knocking sound on his window. He went over to open the curtains, before it hit him – how could someone be knocking on his window?

Looking outside, he didn’t see anything strange in the sky. No birds hitting the window, no one climbing up here to play some prank on him. Just the raindrops.

There was another tap on the window. This time Kim saw it himself – someone had thrown a stone at it. He looked down at the ground to see two people standing there under an umbrella, looking up at him. Not just any people. Max and Alix! From the looks of it, Alix was getting ready to chuck another stone.

Kim opened the window, ignoring the splashes of rain that got onto his arms. “Guys! What the heck are you doing?”

Alix was the one holding the umbrella over them, since Max seemed to be carrying a… okay wow, he was carrying an actual guitar with him, and a megaphone too.

“Good morning Kim!” Max said through the megaphone. “I can’t actually hear you from down here, by the way, so you don’t need to say anything. Anyway, I promised you a guitar serenade like this, didn’t I? I doubt you’ll be able to hear it over the rain, and also I can’t really play the guitar, but I’m not going to let any of that stop me, and Alix very kindly agreed to steal Marinette’s umbrella to keep me dry…”

Kim just watched in amazement as Max proceeded to attempt to play the guitar far below, barely audible at all. Alix seemed to be laughing, earning her occasional glares from Max. To be fair, Kim would probably be laughing too if he could actually hear the guitar – he knew perfectly well that Max didn’t know how to play!

“There, I did it!” Max was talking through the megaphone again, audible once more. “I’m sorry that wasn’t particularly romantic, but I wasn’t counting on the rain. I’ll see you for our picnic later, which I’m sure will be much better!”

The window in the room beside Kim’s opened too, and he stuck his head out to see Marinette there, looking down at the courtyard, bewildered. “Max? Alix? Is that… my umbrella?”

“Bye Kim!” Max said quickly, and he and Alix rushed off before Marinette could say anything else.

Well… that had been an odd start to the morning. Was the rest of the Cupid Festival going to be this weird?

Alix already had a bunch of friendship stickers stuck all over her pet snake from various people by the time she managed to track down Markov to give him one too. He was in the “new” wing of the school – though it had been around for a year already by this point – hovering just far enough behind the large balcony over the river that the roof protected him from the rain. Evidently he wasn’t cold at all, though probably because he was a robot.

“Markov, there you are!” She ran over and stuck a friendship sticker to his forehead. “Happy Friendship Festival. Yes, I said Friendship.”

He stared at her silently for a few seconds, before speaking oddly quietly for once. “Alix, I… I have a confession to make.”

Really? What could a robot possibly need to confess?

“Did you kill anyone?” she asked. After all, this balcony wasn’t exactly the safest place, despite being so big. Maybe Markov accidentally pushed someone off the edge or something. Or maybe he electrocuted someone with the rather dodgy-looking chandelier in the room just behind the balcony. It would be easy enough to push someone off the staircase to make them land on it. Or something like that.

“No, I haven’t killed anyone! It’s not a bad confession. Just… a strange one.”

“Oh, okay.”

“The truth is… I am no longer like you. I now know what it feels like to be in love.”

Markov was in love with someone?! A robot, made out of metal and wires, had actually fallen in love?

Alix had to stop herself giving a rather spiteful retort – honestly, to think that a robot could fall in love, and yet she couldn’t, and Markov was a traitor for…

No, she couldn’t think stuff like that, that was mean! She was past the stage of being bitter about things, right? She was cool with everything now. And this was obviously something important to Markov, so she very firmly told herself to take it seriously and stop being a jerk.

“How do you know?” she asked, before wishing she hadn’t said that. It made it sound like she didn’t believe him or something, but she did. She knew too well what it felt like to not have people believe her. And anyway, Markov already had emotions. Considering that, him falling in love wasn’t a stretch.

“It is the conclusion that seems to make the most sense,” he said. “She fascinates me beyond what appears to be normal, and when I see her my internal processors start overheating for no discernible reason, and my logic pathways seem to malfunction terribly, she makes me feel so strangely happy, and I wish I could tell her how I feel but I can’t…”

Hearing a friend gushing about unrequited love seemed to kick Alix back into winggirl mode instantly. “Yes you can! Give her a Cupid sticker and tell her the truth, whoever she is!”

“No, it’s not like that. It would not work. It is impossible for me to ever be with her, no matter what.”

“Are you sure? I know you’re a robot, but still. You could totally date a human.”

“The problem is not that I’m a robot or that she is human. It is something more fundamental than that. And I must resign myself to the fact that it cannot happen, and move on, though it makes me unhappy…”

A rather unnerving thought had just occurred to Alix. “Dude… it’s not me, is it?”

“What? No, it’s not you!” Markov laughed, bobbing up and down and poking her in the nose. “I do like you a lot, but the same way I like all my friends! Though you are very pretty to look at. Especially when you’re doing sports, and you wear those… sporty clothes… uh, I think my CPU is overheating again… um…”

“So who is it then?” Alix asked quickly, deciding to ignore that last part.

“Oh! It’s… um, well, you see, she’s dead. So I cannot confess my feelings to her, unless ghosts are real, but as of now I have no way to detect them. She will never know the truth.”

“You’re in love with a dead person. Uh, okay.”

“But she’s a wonderful dead person! You yourself told me how amazing she is!”

Really? Alix could not remember ever telling Markov about any cool dead ladies.

Wait… unless…

She flicked open the lid of her sceptre, revealing the little blue hologram of Pharaoh Rania.

“Are you talking about this dead lady?”

Markov’s dot eyes had already transformed into hearts. He zoomed up close to the hologram, his fans whirring so loud they could be heard over the rain. “Yes… it’s her… she’s so beautiful…”

So he was in love with the hologram of a long dead pharaoh. For several seconds Alix just stared, in stunned silence. Out of everyone she could have possibly expected Markov to fall in love with, Rania wouldn’t have even made the list.

“So you have a crush on my like great-great aunt or something,” she said finally. “My ancestor. Who has been dead for a hella long time.”

“Yes.”

“Well… uh… one time Jalil did decipher an old text that seemed to be a necromancy ritual, so maybe it’s not totally hopeless, but like…”

Markov snapped out of his reverie. “No, don’t wake her from the dead! Let her rest!”

“Um, okay.”

“And anyway, she was already married, and she was old by the time she died, so she would not have looked like this… though of course that doesn’t matter to me! Looks are not more important than personality when it comes to love, I know that. For example, you look nice, but that doesn’t mean I… I mean, you have a nice personality too… you look a little like Rania, actually… but I’m not – I’m not saying I–”

Alix snapped shut the sceptre. “Stop making it weird.”

“Right! Sorry.” Little dark blue blush circles were creeping up under his eyes. “Anyway, none of this matters, because Rania is long dead. I should move on. I have this Cupid sticker I’ve been keeping in my pocket, so I suppose I should give it to someone else.”

“Pocket?”

Markov retracted his arm for a second, then pulled it out again holding one of those heart-shaped Cupid stickers in his hand. “Yes, pocket. Sometimes I store food in there. I don’t know what it feels like to eat, but I can always pretend!”

Oh yes, of course Markov couldn’t eat. Somehow that seemed so much more depressing than him being in love with someone who was already dead – though maybe that was just Alix’s priorities being in a weird order.

“Who should I give this to?” he asked.

“I dare you to give it to Lady Mendeleiev.”

“What? But I don’t like her!”

“Yeah, that’s why it’s a dare. She’ll be mad at you but it’ll be so worth it.”

Markov shook his head. “I don’t want to waste this sticker. And I wouldn’t want to play with anyone’s feelings, not even Mendeleiev. Maybe I’ll just have to… pretend it’s a friendship sticker… and give it to a friend instead…”

“Like Max? He’s the one who created you, after all.”

“No, the only person he should get one from is Kim! I was actually thinking… well… someone else… I mean, it isn’t a big deal, but…”

He had started drifting ever so slightly closer, the blue blushy marks back, CPU whirring so fast Alix could feel the heat from here. Rolling her eyes, she just snatched the sticker off him. “Okay yeah, I get it, fine. I’ll have this sticker. Now get out of here before you self-combust, you lovesick toaster.”

Markov did not need to be told twice. “Bye!” He zoomed off and out of sight.

Alix opened up the sceptre again and stuck the Cupid sticker on the underside of the lid, where it could be with Rania all the time. “Somehow I don’t think Rania’s the one he really likes…”

The snake nodded in reply. Poor Markov, he probably didn’t even realize it. She’d just have to find a way to set him up with someone. Someone who was okay with dating a robot, somehow. Or get Max to build more robots, so that Markov could have an immortal companion who would stick around forever, just like him.

“Hey! Alix!”

She turned around to see Kim running over, looking pleased – crap, he wasn’t going to try to throw in her a basketball hoop again, was he?

“How much coffee have you had?” she asked quickly.

“Huh? None, don’t worry!” He had something strapped to his shoulders, and once close enough she saw that it was the lute thing he had used to play her songs on the previous Cupid Festivals. “I’m just happy because Marinette’s made cookies and she’s gonna give some to Mireille, so hopefully that’ll change the weather, and then me and Max can have a picnic date like we were supposed to.”

“Isn’t it too cold for a picnic outdoors?”

“Pfffff, as if a bit of cold weather is gonna bother me. We have coats, we may as well use them. Anyway, I have something to do for you, so…”

“I know already,” she said. “You’re going to tell me to shut up and not laugh, and then you’re gonna play me a song, and then you’ll give me a friendship sticker and tell me how awesome I am.”

“Nope!”

He went and sat down on the nearby bench with his lute in hand, then patted at the seat beside him.

“C’mere. I have a way cooler present this year.”

Really? Like what? She sat down next to him, and then he handed the lute over to her along with a guitar pick.

“There you go. This instrument is your present this time. It’s called the đàn nguyệt and it’s all the way over from my kingdom, so you’ll take care of it, yeah?”

“Wait, what? You’re giving me this?”

“Yep!”

“But… I don’t even know how to play it…”

She took a closer look at it. The end of it was circular, and there were only two strings. It might look like an ordinary guitar from a distance, but close up it didn’t resemble one at all.

“I’ll teach you how to play it, don’t worry,” Kim said. “You taught me a bit of electric guitar that one time, remember? I’ve kinda forgotten most of it, but still.”

Oh yes… that had been years ago, during the cursed spring holidays. She had almost forgotten about it by now.

“So, are you ready to learn?”

Alix nodded, still too surprised to say much – she hadn’t expected to be getting music lessons today, of all things.

“Okay. The name of the instrument means ‘moon lute’ and it’s got these two strings made of silk, and you can pretty much tune it how you want, though I’ve put them a 5th apart for now, and…”

For a while he explained various things about the instrument itself, far more knowledgeable than usual. Then he began teaching her to play simple little notes on it. It certainly did have a different feel to a guitar, despite still being a string instrument.

The strangest thing was how good a teacher Kim was. For once he wasn’t being his usual annoying competitive self, as much fun as that always was. He was being…

Well, he was being more like Max!

Maybe all that tutoring he’d been getting had ended up being put to good use, and not just for schoolwork. Perhaps what Kim had learnt from Max was something far more valuable. Patience, encouragement, clarity. It was surprising, and in the best way possible.

“And that concludes today’s lesson,” Kim said finally, once Alix had actually managed to play a little tune on the instrument. “As a thank you for being such a good student, here’s a sticker. Happy Cupid Festival, you little goofball.”

He pushed aside her fringe and stuck a friendship sticker on her forehead, just like he’d done last year. Almost at the same moment, the sounds of torrential rain from outside lessened to near-silence. Looked like those cookies had worked on Mireille after all.

“Well, as a thank you for being a good teacher, here’s thirty six friendship stickers,” Alix said, pulling a roll of sticker paper out of her pocket and thrusting it into his hands. “I mean, it’s not as cool a present as yours, but…”

“Yeah, well it makes sense.” Kim had already started peeling off the stickers and putting them all over his shirt. “My best friend is way cooler than your best friend, so she deserves to get better presents.”

“What? No, you’re wrong. My best friend is way cooler than yours, he’s the coolest ever and even thirty six friendship stickers aren’t enough to show it.”

“Pffffffff, that’s stupid. My best friend is the awesomest person in the universe, while your best friend is a total idiot, and you know it.”

“Well actually, your best friend is the one who’s a total idiot, while mine is surprisingly smart and thoughtful, so…”

-... --- - .... / --- ..-. / -.-- --- ..- / .- .-. . / .. -.. .. --- - ...! the snake tapped out on the wall behind them.

“What did he say?” Kim asked.

“Um… he says you’re still a punk bitch, but he’s gonna miss your stupid antics after school finishes.”

Kim grinned at her, not fooled for a second. “Yeah, okay. And what else does he say?”

“He says that… that you’re a really awesome friend. Like, when you’re not being annoying. Okay, even when you’re annoying! Because you’re fun. And… and no one else in the universe is like that. No one else is as fun to hang out with, or mess around with, or just talk to, or…”

“Wow, your snake really seems to think highly of me, huh?” He winked and ruffled her hair.

“Yeah, I guess he does.”

“You know, Alix, you’ve already told me more than once how awesome you think I am, and how we’re gonna be best friends forever and all of that stuff. I already know you love me. You don’t have to keep being all defensive about it! You don’t need to worry about me getting really full of myself – I’ve got Max for that!”

“No, it’s not that…” She put the instrument aside and curled up with her knees to her chest, wondering how to put it. “It’s just… we’re not really gonna be best friends forever, are we?”

“What? Why not?”

“Because you’ll leave! When the summer holidays start! Either that or something awful will happen, but let’s pretend it won’t – you’ll go home and you’ll stay there for years and years and I won’t get to see you.”

“But that doesn’t mean we won’t still be friends! I’ll call you up like every single day, and… and…”

“That’s not the same, is it? I know that friendships diminish over time and distance in a way that romances don’t, because… because it’s less important… and I know you say it’s not, but…” She trailed off, wondering if she sounded like a whiny broken record. It still worried her, though. Sometimes it seemed that life had doomed her to forever be a third wheel, no matter what it took.

Kim gently put an arm around her. “Then it’s a good thing this isn’t normal friendship, is it? It’s super, extra special friendship. And the reason I gave you the đàn nguyệt this time is so that next year when I probably won’t be able to meet up with you, you’ve still got a cool present to remember me with.”

She wiped her eyes with her sleeve. “I need to give you something really special too then…”

“You already did! My phone was a present from you, remember? And I wasn’t lying about calling you up every single day. When the telecommunication lines back home are fixed, I’ll be able to talk to you whenever I want.”

“Good! You’d better!”

He pulled her into a hug and didn’t let go. “You’re so tiny and annoying. I’m gonna miss you.”

It wasn’t often that he hugged her like this. Usually his ridiculously long, heartfelt hugs were reserved for Max, so often that it was a wonder they hadn’t lost their impact. But this felt special, and different, and good.

“Hey Kim?”

“Yeah?”

“Promise me you’ll be careful.”

He chuckled. “Wow, I can’t believe you’re the one telling me that. No wonder you’re related to Jalil.”

“I mean it! Fu said the timelines are gonna split again, didn’t he? I don’t want you to… I don’t want anything bad to happen to you, okay?”

She left out what she really wanted to say. I don’t want you to die. True, not every bad timeline had resulted in death. But the ones that had turned out fatal still haunted her. Decapitation, snake venom, poisoned chocolates… what could possibly be next? Whatever it was, she couldn’t let it happen to Kim. The thought of losing him, after everything else they’d had to go through…

“You have a point,” he muttered. “I’ll be careful, I promise. I don’t wanna die.”

Oh, so he was thinking it too. Was he afraid? He must be. Everything seemed so much colder all of a sudden, thinking about those stupid cursed timelines full of despair.

“Hey look, it’s snowing!” He let go of her and jumped off the bench, running over to the balcony. She looked over to see that it had indeed started snowing outside – maybe that was the actual reason it was suddenly cold, then. Had Mireille not liked the cookies or something?

She followed him over, looking over the edge of the railings at the raging river down below. “The moat’s really turbulent today, isn’t it?”

“Pffffffffff, I could totally still swim across it. Not that I would! Because I am being careful from now on, of course, so I won’t do that.”

“Good.” It was cold out here, but something was making her cold on the inside too. Like some strange sense of… foreboding. But what? She had a quick check of the timelines, but nothing bad was happening in any of them right now.

“This is so awesome!” Kim was saying, catching snowflakes on the tip of his finger. “I hardly ever get to see snow, and now me and Max’s date is gonna be a snowy one, that’s gonna be so cute…”

Alix didn’t want to dampen his fun, but she had something on her mind, and she had to say it. “Dude, I have a bad feeling about this place.”

“What do you mean?”

“I don’t know, I can’t put my finger on it. I just don’t like it. This… this balcony here.”

The snake hissed, tapping something on the railing.

“Oh good, so it’s not just me…”

Kim was staring at her in wonder. “Alix, are you psychic or something? ‘Cause that’s awesome!”

“I’m not psychic! Well except the timeline thing. It just feels bad somehow and I don’t know why. Look, I’m gonna go now, it’s freezing out here…”

“Oh yeah, same. I need to go prepare for my awesome Cupid date with Max. See you later then!” He gave her another quick hug, then ran off.

Huh… this Cupid Festival somehow seemed so bittersweet compared to the other ones. Two years ago the biggest thing she had to worry about was wondering if her friend secretly had a crush on her. Last year she’d been totally focused on getting Kim and Max together, and it had worked. This year though, she’d got the nicest present ever, and reassurance that her best friend cared about her too much to ever drift away, but with the ever-growing fear that she would lose him at some point during the next few months…

Max was already waiting out at the fountain in the snow. He was early, he knew it, but there was just something so enchanting about snow! Though he was not an outdoors person in general, this kind of weather was too precious and fleeting to miss. Sure, the ground was still slippery and wet from the rain earlier, and the snow was not settling, so maybe a lunch picnic here would not be ideal. But at least spending some time out here would be nice.

Thinking back to last year he remembered how it had been so sunny and bright, such a different atmosphere to now. That was back before the assassination drama, before the Bourgeois Empire almost collapsed into chaos, before the danger got so real and tangible that it weighed everyone down. Part of him just wanted to go back. Last year’s Cupid Festival had been a day so magical it was almost impossible to believe it had really happened. But the results were right here – Kim was his sweetheart, and had been now for a whole year!

Right on cue, he saw Kim running over towards him out of the snowy mist. “Max! How dare you get here before me?!”

The next thing he knew, he had been wrapped in one of Kim’s giant ribcage-crushing hugs, though this one seemed much fluffier than usual considering the coats they were wearing.

“I guess I’m just quicker than you sometimes,” Max replied, gladly hugging Kim back. “Remember last year, when I confessed before you too?”

Kim hugged him even tighter. “Of course I remember. That was like, the best day of my life. Anyway, I guess I’ll beat you to giving you a present this year, and it’s not just gonna be a generic Cupid sticker.”

He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a little box. For a few seconds Max wondered if the box contained a ring, and if Kim was about to get down on one knee and… well, it wasn’t like Kim hadn’t proposed before already, because he had. But the thought of him doing it properly stopped Max’s heart for a moment in a way that it hadn’t done before – oh boy, if Kim actually really proposed to him…

“I know I kinda already gave you a brooch,” Kim continued, his face going red, “but that one didn’t really count, did it? I bought it for Chloé, and then I only actually gave it to you because Alix didn’t want it. It didn’t really mean… well, it didn’t mean what this present’s going to mean.”

He opened the box and pulled out a small heart-shaped object. It was partially red, partially green, and decorated with little heart sequins. Definitely not a ring.

“I made this one myself. With Marinette’s help, though, since I don’t really know how to make stuff. But yeah, it’s green and red because green’s your favourite colour and red’s mine, so I thought it would suit us. And um… this time when I’m giving it to you, I really mean it.”

Kim stepped in and pinned the new brooch to the front of Max’s coat, so gently and delicately, frowning slightly in concentration. Max couldn’t take his eyes off him. Those little flecks of snow settling in his hair, the admiration in those dreamy grey eyes, the visible wisps of breath curling out into the cool winter air, oh, there was just something so beautiful about it all.

“There you go. A new brooch, and an actual Cupid present this time. And I know I say this all the time, but I… I love you, Max. A lot. And every time I say it, I mean it.”

It was true that this was something Max had heard very often, considering how openly affectionate Kim was with him, even long before they’d gotten together. But this time Kim seemed somewhat more flustered, now running a hand through his hair and inadvertently loosening many of the snowflakes resting there.

“And like… I know I’m a hopeless romantic and I’ve had loads of crushes on people, but this one feels different. It always felt different. You… you just feel right, Max, in a way that no one else ever did. You’re always there for me. You’re special. And I don’t wanna use the term ‘true love’ lightly, because I know I take love way more seriously than other people, but…”

He trailed off. Max tried to think of something to say in reply, anything at all! But it would just be impossible to match Kim’s heartfelt speech in words of his own. Instead he laid his shaking hands on the side of Kim’s face, those warm cheeks heating up his frozen fingers, and kissed him softly. It had been exactly a year since their first kiss, and how many had they had in between? Too many to count.

By the time he pulled away his glasses had fogged up too much for him to see. It didn’t matter, though. He simply closed his eyes again and let his forehead rest against Kim’s, still close enough to be sharing breaths. His lips were tingling, and not from the cold.

“I love you too, Kim,” he breathed. “I love your present, and I… I feel the same way about you that you do about me…”

“You do?”

“Yes. I’m well and truly in love with you.”

“Aww, Max, me too…” Kim chuckled slightly. “That’s so cheesy though. I love it.”

“I know. And I have a present for you too.” He stepped back and quickly cleaned his glasses, then pulled the little wrapped gift out of his pocket and gave it to Kim. “Here you go. I feel like perhaps it’s not as heartfelt as the brooch you made for me, but I wanted to give you something that you can use, so…”

Kim had opened the wrapping in no time and was now staring in wonder at the little box in his hand. “Is this some kind of camera?!”

“Yes. I remember how excited you were to buy a disposable camera in my kingdom quite a while ago, so I built a digital one for you while I was working on Markov. It doesn’t run on film, so you can use it for as long as you like, and can transfer the pictures onto your phone to look at them or send them to people.”

“You… you built me a techy camera?”

“Yep!”

For a few seconds Kim just stared in silent amazement, before pulling Max into another giant hug. “That’s the coolest thing ever! A digital camera! And you’re the one who built it, I mean, can you even get any cooler? I’ve got the coolest sweetheart in the entire world!”

Hearing compliments from Kim always made Max’s heart swell with pride and love. “I’m so glad you like it! You’ll send me pictures you take, right?”

“Of course I will! In fact…” He let go and pressed the on switch on the camera. “The first picture I take has gotta be of you. Or wait! It’s gotta be us. Both of us. I don’t know how I’m gonna do that with no one else here, but I’ll find a way.”

“The commoners have a recent trend of doing that actually,” Max said. “Hold the camera at arm’s length with the lens pointing in our direction and hope it works.”

“Okay, I’ll try that… Smile!”

Max put on his best smile as Kim held out the camera with one arm and put the other around him. There was a snap as he took the photo, then they took a look at the preview of the photo on the little screen at the back. It seemed to have worked, even if it did look a bit daft – the two of them were smiling cheerfully at the camera, with the snow around them and the fountain in the background.

“Oh Max, this is perfect! This is wonderful! Thank you so much!”

“Well thank you for being a wonderful friend and sweetheart!”

“This picture is the best. I’m gonna get it printed out and framed. And then when I properly go home, I’ll hang it up on the wall in my bedroom. That way I’ll get to see you every day, even if you’re halfway across the world.”

Max’s heart sank slightly – it was a bittersweet notion. “I’ll do the same. I’m going to miss you a lot, you know.”

Kim, putting his new camera into his coat pocket, sighed. “Yeah, same. I guess some things about getting to go home again are happy, and other things are sad. In fact, since I don’t even know whether or not I’m gonna make it all the way to summer, I want to ask you to do something.”

“Kim–”

“Shhh, you know what Fu said about the timelines, you know you might end up in the bad one. Please listen.”

Thinking about a possible timeline where Kim was not with him was almost too heart-wrenching to contemplate, but it was a possibility all the same. Max nodded.

“Okay. So, whether or not I live or get to go home or whatever, you have to promise me you’ll still hang out with Alix loads. Properly, I mean. Spend time with her and stuff.”

“Of course I will!”

“Good, because she always says how she never had real friends before coming to school, especially not best friends, and I know she’s worried about me. But I’m not her only best friend – you are too. I’ll be too far away to do anything, but you won’t. I want you to make sure she’s not gonna spend the rest of her life as the lonely third wheel she’s always been. Even if we all end up in the best timeline, she’s still the only one who’ll actually have suffered through the experience of losing us all, and she’ll need more than just her pet snake for comfort.”

“I promise I’ll be there for her, no matter what,” Max said firmly. “You two will both have countries to run, but I won’t need to do that. I think I’ll actually have time to visit you both plenty.”

“What, even me?”

“Your kingdom may be far away, but didn’t you once say that the very first thing you’d do when returning is build an airport?”

“Huh, I did say that, didn’t I…”

“Exactly.” Max’s own sense of hope and resolve was increasing now, just at the thought of it. “If you do build an airport early in your reign, I’ll be able to visit fairly often. Of course there’s still the issue of cost and fuel and time zones, but we’ll sort that all out. The important thing is that I’ll be able to see you.”

Kim hugged him once more, though this time more gently, and when he pulled away his eyes were shining. “Yeah, that sounds awesome. And I guess I could attend International Alliance events myself rather than sending diplomats, so that would give me even more excuses to see you guys, right?”

“Right. But focus on your country first and foremost. Your people will need your help. And if you’re ever the one who needs help, well… I’ll only be a telephone call away.”

“Jeez, sometimes I wonder if it’s possible for you to get any sweeter, and you still manage to outdo yourself. I love you so much.” Kim took Max’s hands in his own. “Your hands are so cold!”

Max’s face wasn’t cold, that was for certain. “In that case you should probably keep holding onto them… you know, thermodynamic equilibrium and all that…”

“Hmmm…” Kim raised Max’s hands to his lips and kissed the tips of his fingers. “Hey Max? I know we probably should have lunch now, indoors so we don’t freeze, but I’m not in a hurry so, um… can I kiss you again? Please?”

Last year it had been Max who asked for a kiss, and this time Kim had indeed managed to beat him to it. He nodded, holding Kim’s hands a little tighter. “You always can.”

“Aww… Happy Cupid Festival, Max.”

“Happy Cupid Festival, Kim.”

They kissed again, thousands of snowflakes swirling around them in the winter breeze, settling into their hair and clothes only to melt in their shared warmth, and even a few mysterious flower petals seemed to float through. And Max was melting too, his cold hands heating up, and he wanted to make the most of every moment like this he got – aware that with a timeline split on the way between now and summer, every kiss with Kim might be his last.

Would never listen to him when he told her something made him uncomfortable (Cough, Lila, Cough), pressuring him to keep being the agreeable, high-road-taking boy that “everybody loves”

Puts pressure on them to forgive their bitchy ex, saying Roxie could have been a better partner and helped Brie achieve her goals, despite the fact she was completely using Roxie

Treats them in a very similar manner to Ivan, harshly criticizing their surly and reserved demeanor, pressuring them to be friendlier and smile more

Frequently, if indirectly, makes it clear she feels it’s extremely odd that Petra is being raised by four gay men, even making a somewhat tasteless joke about it once

Constantly sending her to the office for the dress code “as a distraction”, despite their various accessories not being against the rules and no one really cares

Puts pressure on Candace to be the model, perfect, can-do-it-all student that everyone believes her to be, adding to the stress she already puts on herself to keep up that image

Nearly had him suspended for defending his girlfriend from one of the (rich) guys who frequently harasses her. It wasn’t even a fight, he just pushed the guy away from Evie and told him to back off or he would make him

We've got Lucil/Wildbug They love rock and other types of music, they're studying to be a musician in Paris while living with their mother, but they've lived in London the majority of their life with their father. In this alternate universe of the series, Lucil got the Ladybug Miraculous instead of Marinette. Master Fu slipped them the Miraculous after an admittedly unplanned pickpocketing of Fu's wallet. Lucil noticed the pickpocket, chased them down and brought the wallet back to Fu. They have a MASSIVE crush on André and don't bother hiding it. Flirting galore whenever there happens to be a good moment between the two of them.

Andre/Serre Noir André practices martial arts in France. He lives on his own, working as a barista during their free time from school; they study music alongside Lucil. After spotting Master Fu walking with a bunch of bags outside of the cafe they work, he invites Fu in for a cup of tea and after their shift, he helps Fu carry his groceries all the way home. Although Lucil flirts on them constantly, there's no romantic feelings from André towards them. He likes them, but purely platonically.

Maeve/Mielbee Maeve's one of the top dancers in her school, joining in break dance tournaments here and there. In her free time, she works as a pizza delivery driver. When she won a tournament, a few kids approached her and asked if she could teach them some moves. This was nothing new for Maeve, and she gladly taught these aspiring dancers some basic moves. What was new was that a much older Chinese man approached and asked if he could learn these moves as well. Despite her reservations, she decided that if the man wanted to learn, nothing should stand in his way. She tries her hardest to teach him a few dance moves, but the man's bad back gets in the way. Maeve helps the man to a bench and goes to get him some pain reliever. When she returns, the man has vanished. Maeve notices something extra in her bag after she leaves the tournament; a six-sided black and red wooden box with a bee hair accessory inside.

Her narcolepsy makes her school life difficult, but she still manages to get good scores. Nobody would be surprised if they hacked their grades. She also quite enjoys DJing, especially for her friends.

Agni is a tattoo artist who works for Kaleb, but her other passion, aside from art and tattoos, is fashion. When she transforms into her hero form and uses a specific element at her command, the gradient color in her hair changes to match that element.
