men
cards: 6 of swords, page of wands, 6 of coins
men see you as someone who isn’t afraid to move away from conflict or anything that stresses you out for the sake of your own mental peace. you don’t jeopardise that for nobody. and you also seem to be someone who is all about learning how to experience certain things in life - leading me to think that perhaps you’re the type to date multiple people, or just not limit yourself to one particular thing or person. you’re extremely balanced in the way that you think and the way that you practically live your life though. from the outside, you could seem quite bubbly or excitable. someone who has a passion for experiencing life - i’m also seeing that men could feel like you’re very passionate about helping the less fortunate too. you seem to be someone who’s extremely charitable with your money, your time, or something else that you practically give away. i’m also seeing that some of you could dress “freely” too, so this either means that you’re happy with your body to dress revealingly, or you’re extremely creative with how you dress and just wear whatever you feel like wearing. your dress sense could even be seen as quite childlike - but it works. you also seem quite adamant on learning thoroughly how to be independent by yourself. and i’m also seeing that men may feel as though you’re someone who makes shit happen in your own life. to the point where you’re able to help others and show others how to help themselves - “leading by example”.
women
cards: 4 of swords, page of cups, page of coins
3 out of 4 of the pages in the deck have come out, so you guys could be seen as a young person (because you actually are - like a teenager), or that’s your demeanour that you show. with men, the childlike nature is seen through any excitability, confidence, or self-assurance that you might have around them. with women, they view you as someone who’s very introverted and shy for some reason. but they also see you as someone who notices and recognises everything there is to notice in your environment - to the point where it could come as a surprise regarding how much you know and notice. you might get along with men easier than you do women, because i’m seeing that women view you as someone who may struggle with social anxiety or just something that prevents you from speaking much. they see you as someone who just sticks to yourself, really. however, you seem so happy in this solitude. women view you as someone who has realised what truly makes them happy, and you seem to be very emotionally open and helpful to those who you choose to open up to. but i’m feeling a distance between you and them that most women feel. even if you’re a woman yourself, you might be a tomboy or just feel like you don’t have much in common with most women who you meet. they do see you as a very sweet energy - calming too - but they feel like you’d rather be left alone. yk what i’m hearing? it’s probably the women who are really full-on in their first impressions. you may just be reserved but i’m hearing that the way that some women speak to you, or how they approach you may be just too forward and maybe even alike to love-bombing.
i feel you, pile one. there’s nothing wrong with you, you’re just very grounded and stable by yourself. both men and women see how independent you are. men just appreciate it more, probably because they mainly observe you at first, i’m seeing. whereas women want to interact with you more perhaps, and when they don’t get the reaction that they like or want, they feel like you must either just be shy or really introverted. when you’re not in actuality. when other people grant you the space to show your personality and open up naturally, that’s when they’ll see the fun and excitable side to you.

men
cards: judgement, 5 of wands, queen of cups
men view you as someone who is extremely aware of aspects of life that not many people experience for themselves. particularly creativity and knowing exactly what you want to create. it seems like you’re creating the life that you want under any circumstances, and you seem to be quite defensive when it comes to this. some men could view you as someone who’s quite combative too, and highly aware of when you need to assert your energy in order to defend yourself from another’s. you could get into a lot of ego clashes with men, and that’s because they feel as though you’re aware of way too much. you could also either have a lot of competition or a lot of men competing for you, but it seems like overall, you come across as very self-protective (especially protective over your emotional space, what you give emotionally, etc) around men. i’m seeing you fight off men who don’t live up to your standards 😂. because you know exactly what you want. you’re extremely attractive to men but there’s a resistance there - thanks to how protective you are over yourself. they also assume that you really prioritise self care and put it at the forefront of your life. you could work out a lot, take care of your appearance - whatever it is. i’m also seeing you keep yourself out of petty drama and ego conflicts due to being focused on finding the answers to something significant within your life. to men, you’re quiet and calm, but you’re also on your own particular path regarding what you want and how you’d like to express yourself. you don’t let petty, insignificant energies influence how you feel about yourself and your life path.
women
cards: 5 of cups, 10 of cups, 8 of swords
for some reason, women view you as someone who’s grieving the loss of someone/some people usually. and they also view you as quite insecure, lonely, or just someone who doesn’t want to be seen. with this 10 of cups, i’m hearing that a lot of women project onto you what they want you to feel like. they could actually project their fears and anxieties onto you. especially because there’s something significant about how sexually attractive you are to a lot of people. i feel like it makes a lot of women feel insecure within themselves. women could actually cause emotional loss in your life to put you into this 8 of swords energy. it’s like i’m seeing women view you as someone who is experiencing emotional loss in the middle of seemingly having a life that is ‘supposed’ to be emotionally fulfilling. for women who aren’t vindictive towards you, they could see you as someone who has almost anything that you could want, but you’re still not happy. or perhaps these are women who know that you’d rather just get rid of certain people around you, going back to the energy of wanting to be alone and not wanting to be seen. women could also feel like you try to hide your beauty - not due to not knowing your beauty - but because of the smoke and mirrors that people put up with you thanks to trying to get close to you because of it. women can definitely tell that you worry so much - but they might not understand why. again, i’m seeing women view you as the “dream” person but someone who for some reason is focusing on people from the past. or some type of guilt or shame. a lot of women feel like you’re doing yourself a disservice through the way that you seemingly downplay yourself.

men
cards: knight of wands, strength, 7 of coins
you’re viewed by men as someone who has no fear. literally. you have a very strong and healthy ego and you seem to make hasty decisions - when you want something, you go after it. you don’t wait for anyone’s permission. you could also have very good control over your ego. i’m hearing that some men have seen you transform from someone who struggled with their impulsive actions to someone who can now control what they say and do. you don’t pop off as much 😂. you’re also very stubborn when you choose to invest your time and energy into something - you don’t give up. especially if it’s related to self development and improving yourself as a person. you’re extremely self-focused but in the best way possible. i’m hearing that you don’t give up on yourself at all. men can tell that you’re someone who wouldn’t fall victim to other people trying to tear you down very easily. at all. you’re focused on overcoming adversities that you face personally, and you’re completely interested in making something of yourself.you could be “more developed” than a lot of other people your age, in one way or another. i’m also seeing that men can see that you have no issue with setting something on fire if you no longer see the point or the value in continuing to invest in it. and once you make a decision, then that’s it. you don’t flip flop and you don’t change your mind 50 different times. you’re someone who also knows how to use whatever tools that you have available to your advantage. you take control over situations and you make shit happen in your favour - or for the sake of your own betterment.
women
cards: ace of cups, page of swords, 2 of wands
women view you as someone who knows how to direct your life according to what you think would give you emotional fulfilment. you think before you speak, and think about the decisions that you’re making extremely logically. especially when it comes to new connections that you have - either with them or with other people. women can tell that you listen to your intuition about people and you have no problem with deciding to switch up your behaviour or way of communicating if you feel like it’s necessary. i’m also hearing that they feel like you decide to spend your time extremely wisely. you could be the type of person who hates to feel like they’re wasting time. or you’re just extremely smart with who you invest energy into and how much. women can tell that you know how to make rational decisions based on what you intuitively know that you should do, whether the messages that you receive is something that you want to hear or not. you could also be someone who’s extremely curious about connecting with others though, but there seems to always be a boundary put up between you and new people (as there should be). i’m hearing that women may feel like you only associate yourself with people who are constantly taking steps to do the work on themselves and their life, meaning that you only associate yourself with people who are constantly changing or moving in some way. women seem to recognise that you don’t like being around stagnant people. regarding the women who you care about, you take into consideration their opinions and use them as guidance, and you also guide other women quite a lot too. especially when it comes to their emotional awareness and emotions in general.

the yellowjackets with a younger s/o...
hey, I'm back! it didn't take me long, right? it must be because I have too many things to write on this blog, finally (and I have relatively enough time to organize my ideas for now). so I thought, I made a headcannon of the young yellowjackets, but I might as well make the adult survivors, right? anyway, maybe this is also a sign to say that I will "moderately" write stories with the adult versions, too. who cheered? anyway, without further ado, let's go! thanks for the likes on the first post, I'm glad you liked it! enjoy! sorry for any grammatical or coherence errors, english is not my first language and I'm trying to improve!
---------
dating a younger person with the yellowjackets women...
shauna shipman.
Tumblr media
okay, it's canonical that shauna would have no problem being in a relationship with someone younger.
I mean, even after adam, I think she would be willing to try.
it would be a lot easier in her mind, because dating someone younger means being able to reconnect with callie more easily too.
in shauna's mind, the two of you would be best friends based on your approximate age, regardless of how old you were.
now in terms of dating shauna, i think she would inevitably be an easy going person, to a certain extent.
overprotective as hell, of course, because she's lost so many people she loves over time (and it's become an incurable trauma in her life), that she can't bear to lose you.
she would also cook for you (rabbit meat inserted) all the time, especially if you felt like eating something special.
oh yes, the weekends would have to include callie with you, which is actually not a problem. at least not for you.
I feel like shauna hasn't been, since she was a teenager, someone who would be involved in loud parties or anything like that, so probably the perfect date for her would be watching a movie at home, wrapped in blankets with you, popcorn and soda and a solitude considerable enough for you to kiss, exchange affection and even make out (or have sex) without anyone to get in the way.
natalie scatorccio.
Tumblr media
natalie, like shauna, would also have no problem dating someone younger.
since her life has always been full of risks and she was never very afraid of taking most of them, I honestly think that age never made much of a difference to her, at least not after middle age.
but to be honest, dating natalie comes with a combo of even bigger problems and risks that you wouldn't be able to deal with if you didn't love her so much.
I see natalie completely using her s/o as an outlet, or a shield. after rehab, you would be like a kind of warning for her to control herself.
not that it wouldn't also include (if you're a smoker) the two of you smoking in your spare time when you're bored.
natalie would be the kind of girlfriend you could have any conversation in the world with, sober or not. she probably has and gained enough empathy to listen to you and give you accurate advice on how to live your life.
making out a lot and having sex in unusual places also counts.
in my head, despite everything, natalie is the master of serving affection. spooning with her is the best whenever you need it.
she would do anything for you. everything really. anything.
she would be able to get into a fight for you. and risking her own life as well.
lottie matthews.
Tumblr media
number one defender of the thesis: "age is just a number".
lottie is literally the personification of quality time and acts of service.
much because of her lonely life, her traumatic and confusing teenage years and the relationships she maintained with people over time, lottie would probably never want you to lack for anything, so any opportunity she has to be with you, she will be, even on her worst days.
arts and crafts dates with her when she is not taking care of camp green pine. you spend hours enjoying each other's company, and the whole world falls silent.
extremely overprotective of you too. just the thought of losing you because of her own insecurities leaves lottie haunted for weeks if she stops to think about it.
she is the ideal companion for anxiety and panic attacks.
she will most likely use the techniques she learned over time with you. if they work, that's another matter. (they always work because in the end it was never about lottie's gift, it was about her company).
a little submissive, a little dominant during sex. lottie is probably the typical "am I hurting you?" at the right time and even if you insist no, she will ask again just to be sure.
she's also the master spooner (I literally see you two fighting over who's going to be the big spoon every night).
taissa turner.
Tumblr media
ok, public life has always been a problem for taissa.
but when she's with you, she's able to forget about it for a few minutes.
despite all this freedom, taissa never lets you go out unaccompanied (without a bodyguard) or lets you read the headlines or see the commercials about her first, for fear of any criticism about your age difference.
but more than anything, it's you she turns to when the stress finally gets to her on the worst days.
I see her making any effort for you, and I see her trying to keep a fine line between you and her old life too.
this includes your relationship with sammy, which, in fact, has always been the best possible, and her friendly relationship with simone as well. taissa knows that she cannot take her son out of her ex-wife's life and, even so, she makes a point of including you in family programs with him.
she will literally spend it all on you. anything you ask for, even with a high amount of money, she will buy.
it's probably a way of apologizing about her sleepwalking and her traumas making her even remotely distant from you for some time.
like I said, you're the one she looks for when crises end up attacking her mental health. she won't sleep if you're not safe in bed with her and she makes a point of being snuggled in her arms so she doesn't have any sleepwalking attacks in the middle of the night.
dates with her are always in fancy places, but taissa doesn't care about them that much.
anniversaries, yes, she always takes you to dinner at a fancy restaurant.
but, on her days off, she would easily choose to just spend time with you watching a stupid series or a cliché movie while you sleep cuddling in the middle of it.
sex always, sex anywhere, sex on any occasion. you will never miss this, you can be sure.
van palmer.
Tumblr media
this nerdy woman deserves the world and a significant other who doesn't know half of her references.
you two are a match made in heaven, for sure.
van wouldn't waste time trying to get you to watch all the movies that were popular in her time. and she would use your ability to tinker with technology for the video store whenever necessary.
this woman is literally the embodiment of girlfriend material.
quality time, acts of service, words of affirmation, she has mastered every love language in existence, you bet.
van will always cook for you. there are rare nights when she lets you make dinner or even order any junk food.
she would also stop whatever she was doing so she could cuddle with you whenever you needed her.
dates with van are always at the cinema, or at an amusement park, or, when she is a little less in debt, at a tourist spot around the world that you would mention that you want to see.
she has good enough memory to remember them all.
the sex is always good, always affectionate, and every now and then, when she's not tired, you'd try a quickie in the bedroom for just a little while, until you feel satisfied.
hopeless romantic until the end of time.
misty quigley.
Tumblr media
a walking red flag, misty would probably treat a relationship with someone younger as if it were a great adventure.
well, if you like crazy women, misty is your ideal partner.
she has a bit of a misconception about taking care of you and keeping you safe, so every now and then she'll make a point of checking your calendar and trying to monitor meetings with people in your circle, just to make sure there's no problem.
but this is also a good thing because, if there is a specific date or specific problem, she will remember it and make everyone special, in her own way.
anyway, but she's a good girlfriend too, aside from the weirdness. she has everything under control, she is attentive to you and makes a point of making your day better if it is bad.
dates with her don't need much. If it's in a cafe relaxing and talking about her day, if it's watching crime series or chatting with her about citizen detectives, she'll be happy.
sex is also good, to be honest. I see misty as the roleplay girl, so if she's in the mood to roleplay with you, you can be sure she'll do it. from weirdest to sexiest, it also depends on her day.
she achieved the feat of making a young person like a bird and want to have a bird at home. she is, at the moment, the only one of them to be able to do this masterfully.

He definitely has a complex about being considered middle aged. Me personally, I see him as one of those guys that tell you they're a couple of years younger than they actually are, in the beginning, cause be feels too old for someone younger and (in his mind) 'cooler' than him.
I feel like joining the army at such a young age must've made him feel like an adult way too soon, and maybe back then he must've felt superior like 'All the people my age only care about love and having fun, I'm way too mature for those silly things'. (Could be a copping mechanism to deal with the fact that he wasn't getting love anyway, and wasn't included in all the fun his peers were having. Rejecting those things altogether are a way to take back control and make himself feel better, he's too busy becoming a real man anyway). But now that he's older he does feel like he missed out on things, and regrets not being a silly teenager when it was acceptable and expected at that age.
He makes me think of that one Yves Olade quote that goes like "I thought so many things & never said a single one aloud. I choked on such longing I couldn’t spit out. Yes, desire is so different when God bore you hungry. I could have devoured anything and still have been starving." When you get no love from your parents is one thing (still hurts) but when you get cast out in other social circles also, it makes you feel bitter like nothing else on this earth. It creates this feeling that you're the one that it's being inadequate for even daring to want connections to other people and you begin to resent people and yourself for wanting to be around them. There's this shame that settles on top of your chest when you want love but you feel like that's the cause of all your suffering in the first place, like you're doing it to yourself. This reminds me of another quote : "in front of my mother and my sisters, i pretend love is cheap and vulgar. i act like it's a sin- i pretend that love is for women on a dark path. but at night i dream of a love so heavy it makes my spine throb- i dream up a lover who makes love like he is separating salt from water." (Salma Deera, "salt"). I feel like this might apply to younger Konig, when convinced himself that love is for weak man to protect his poor heart. But now that he's older and has the money, the position and the body of a real man he needs to get a taste (just a small one, just once) of what he had missed out on in his youth. He finally feels deserving enough to attempt to have real intimacy with someone, not just quick hookups that leave him more hungry.
FEEL FREE TO NOT ANSWER THIS I'm just in a silly mood and had to psychoanalyse my babygirl real quick. Also, sorry for my English =))
how could i possibly just leave this in my inbox, anon?! this is all so correct…
thank god he wears that hood, because even on the field the sun isn’t hitting him too much - (he thinks) he can pass for early thirties. not that any lady who takes an interest in him is really considering his age much anyway, it’s always the shy “how tall did you say you were, again?”s or “what is your real name?”s that are telltale signs of interest. they ogle his build, the accomplishments he will prattle on about given the chance, the haunted look in his eyes and the strange lilt to his voice, the scars and lines only make him look cooler. if only that wasn’t such a rare treat.
he’s just in his head about things always. he missed out on the sweet, awkward dates: the mutual rush of adrenaline from holding someone’s hand for the first time, sneaky pecks in the schoolyard, passing notes and calling throughout the night. he never got to experience having his parents drop him off at the theater to take some girl from class out or… hell, even getting to go with a friend who wasn’t gossiping behind his back. König’s never gotten to live like any other, normal person, he’s been denied that since being birthed into a world that did not want him as much as he did not want it.
so, of course he’s bitter. he’s horribly bitter even now when things have finally started to fall into place for him. he’s got a stature even Adonis would be nervous around, a savings account so stocked he isn’t even sure what to do with the money, an impressive title, his own place, a car, and some of the soldiers even consider him a friend. he gets invited out every now and then, doesn’t mind downing jäger and listening to his men talk about their current affairs: what women they’re seeing, or how their children are, where they plan to go on leave. he takes to living vicariously through them. he even finds it fit to lie, pulls up a picture of some random woman every now and then to boast about how he made her come undone on his bed last leave with a stupid laugh. the truth is that no, last leave he bought a nice fleshlight, took a thirteen hour depression nap, maybe went on a long hike and had a film marathon on his own.
having a woman show him any interest immediately activates some self-destructive behavior: he’ll hound her (screw double texting, it’s moreso in the dozens. little “miss you”s and stupid accusations he immediately wishes he hadn’t sent), either withdraw into himself if he even feels slightly abandoned or become even more intense and clingy. no one’s ever loved him, not properly, so how is he supposed to know how? if his own parents hated him, then who is going to have the patience and understanding to teach him? his approaches are almost childish, the way he goes from boyish and giddy to closed off and pitiful. /: and the self-loathing only amplifies during these times, because my god he should be more disciplined than this by now. all that being said, i do think he would settle and be as well-behaved as a neglected bull could be if he feels his affection is being reciprocated. he just needs time (and a good therapist).
squealing at the poetry and how much thought you’ve put into this message. <3
Yves Olade is sooo good to quote from for him! i think that “You can have my heart if you have the stomach to take it. Kiss me hard enough to invert me.” suits him just as well, especially when it comes to the trepidation and fear amidst the sparks of him finally, truly having someone be selfless and loving with him.
König in love is a very special topic to me!! there are so many different ways this rabid dog could take to handling it and by and by he always seems to choose the most aggressive / uncanny approach, held back by a leash that no one’s ever thought to untie, constantly growling and leaping at anything that gets too close just to simmer down to whimpering and begging the second he’s pet just once!!

Dear Rainbowsky,
I have been pondering whether to write or not to write for many days now.  I am neither good at writing nor with words.  So please bear with me, because it's going to be quite long if I want to explain myself thoroughly.  I don't often use any social media, however, today I was saddened to the point that I must say something.  I have great great respect for both of you and Vic, therefore I seek your pardon to use your platform to say a few words in support of DD's newest movie.  I felt I must tell of my own experiences and maybe help lift some of the doubts, anger, disappointments & whatnot.
I was barely a teenager when we escaped from the civil war in my country.  I'm sure some of the older generations would have remembered the Hollywood movie called " The Killing Fields".  When the war ended, many families were escaping to Thailand (or countries nearby).  My family was among them.  It was an extremely dangerous journey.  We could get killed at any moment.  We had to climb mountains, walk through thick jungles, for many many weeks (most of the time we went without food.  We slept wherever we got tired.)  There were many guerrillas (Former Pol Pot's soldiers) in the jungles, and landmines.
We were a group of nearly 20 women with 3 young children (no men).  Before the journey (from Phnom Penh to the borders of Thailand), my adopted mum had me bathe in mud every day in the hope that I'd become as black as everyone else in the group (I have much lighter skin, therefore, I would put everyone at risk because we might run into soldiers or guerrillas in the jungles and get question by them.  My adopted mum is darker than the dark chocolate)  If I could get away with painting myself black with soot (there was no such thing as make-up in war, and soot from the charcoal would come off) she would have attempted that too.  I was taught to tell lies if I was asked where we were going.  I was to say that my mum and I were on our way to Thailand to look for my father who had an affair with a Thai woman!  I didn't quite understand but knew that it was very very important that I got everything correct.  And sure enough halfway through our journey we were stopped by a fierce looking group of guerrillas in Siem Riep jungle.  These people would not hesitate to put a bullet or two in you just for the fun of it!  Most were young adults with machine guns and bullets hanging around their bodies.  They looked at us with much hatred and disgust (I only remembered there were many of them), then they decided to question me (I must have stuck out like a sore thumb).  I must have peed in my pants, I could see my adopted mother was trembling and praying!  Everyone must be trembling and praying too.  They asked for my mother, I pointed at her.  They didn't believe us as mother and daughter.  She was about to explain when one of them shouted at me where we were going.....
To cut the story short, I would like to ask everyone "Am I being a racist because I made myself black so that I can save lives?", "Is my adopted mother guilty of telling lies to save lives?".  If you are a white person that needs to paint yourself black in order to survive, wouldn't you do it? Or you'd rather put everyone at risk because you think your life and everyone's life is not worth it?
When it comes to war and you are in a war zone, there is no such thing as black or white, there is only human life and survival!
If anyone is interested in reading about the guerrillas in the Cambodia jungles, I'd like to recommend this one book by Chris Moon "One step beyond"
Tumblr media
I love your blog (and Vic's too) very very much. I thank you to both of you from the bottom of my heart.
Hi reksmey3328, thanks so much for your kind words, I'm glad you're enjoying my blog! ☺️
First of all I want to send you blessings for surviving such a huge and terrifying ordeal. You and your mother and all the women and children travelling with you were exceptionally brave to get through something like that. What an incredible journey.
I hope you've all gone on to live in safety, and surrounded by kind and loving people. Thanks so much for sharing your story. You underestimate your ability to communicate. Your experience really shone through in your writing. 🫂
I don't think anyone would argue that you were doing anything offensive or wrong by disguising yourself the way you did. Clearly it was a matter of life and death.
And I don't think anyone would argue that - if such a UN mission happened where people had to infiltrate a community with different racial characteristics in order to rescue hostages - there could be anything objectionable about the rescuers doing the same.
However, I still feel that the use of blackface in the film should have been avoided. Filmmaking isn't a matter of life and death, and there are many different ways the scene could have been adapted to tell the story and provide high stakes suspense without subjecting the actors and the viewers to this indignity.
Even if they were trying to depict a real-life mission that had actually happened (and I still haven't seen evidence that it was directly based on a real mission), they could have adapted the scenes to remove the use of those disguises. Filmmakers do this all the time when creating films based on historical events.
That's just my personal opinion. I know others might disagree, and that's their right. (For those wanting my detailed thoughts on the issue, they can check out the posts linked here).
Thanks again for sharing your story, and for the book recommendation. 💛.

I love to see my biases get the BB 1s, but when one starts making that their goal, hmm that kind of disconnects me from them as an artist.
I won't say more. I just wish artists I stan placed more focus on the art. Let charts happen naturally.
You're blog isn't like the blind fandom, so I am saying this here.
It's not hard to see through things. Chapter 2 has been interesting so far. I am not making any opinions based of things that are happening, but if it becomes a pattern with the artist, well... that's a problem.
Anon, we both know who were're talking about, lol. I'm gonna use the names, for the sake of making it easier for me to write a response.
A few weeks ago, I was watching this documentary about Wham. Some light entertainment for me initially, but it did offer me the chance for a fresh perspective. I don't exactly remember the details, but they've reached a point in which George Michael wanted to have 4 songs to reach number 1 on some chart, the fourth being Last Christmas. He was a bit obsessed with this and he also wanted to be a bigger artist. In later archival interviews, Michael actually mentions it was his ego as an artist because he knew he could. And he did, he outgrew the boyish band and the situation was almost ideal because Andrew, his bandmate, also knew that. It also meant getting away from their carefully constructed image, the object of desire for teenagers and women everywhere. For George, it was also about stepping away from performing a specific type of heteronormativity that can be found in boy bands. It never crossed my mind while watching it that his ego is too big, or why is he so obsessed with the charts. Maybe because it was all in the past and I've seen what the future would hold for him. Or that when I heard him talk about what he wants to achieve and his inner struggle, there was sincerity there and also that drive that only someone really young can have when they believe they can do anything.
I've read Jungkook's Weverse interview and listened to what he had to say during the Seven promotions. And while there may be some comparisons to be made to how George Michael came across when talking about his musical career, there were also some differences.
I'm glad to see Jungkook being more confident. I remember some of the things he used to say in the past, about his self worth, a lack of confidence and meaning outside the group. That wasn't healthy. And to hear him now, especially on Suchwita, it's a 180° change. But in his case, there's a very fine line between being confident and becoming cocky. And that's not a good look. It's almost like he's trying to project an image of a new Jungkook but one that is still in the works and not all parts fit perfectly together. He's going through a transformation ever since the hiatus, which I expected. It was about having to adapt to a different pace, life after 10 years of being part of a group. Jungkook was always trying to find his identity and this single is only one step in that journey.
But that doesn't mean that I as a fan and as a person, have to like it. If it doesn't match with what I'm looking for in the artists that I'm interested in, then so be it. I will talk about it, but I'll also not follow that person's musical career anymore. If I don't like the artistic direction and I don't like this overconfident, slighly exaggerated bravado, then that's it.
It's also impossible to not make a comparison to Jimin. Not for some dick measuring contest (it's what pjms and jjks are doing), but because there is room and justification for it. Both are from the same kpop group, both have embarked on a solo career and both chose a more mainstream pop music, as opposed to their older bandmates. And both got that BB 1. And what we can compare is song quality, artist reaction and how the company's response came across into fan spaces.
In terms of the songs, I could write entire essays because at the end of the day, it wouldn't matter. It's all subjective. There is no rule that says a number one song should be about some personal experience, or the singer should have writing credits on it. And I also can't take away my subjectivity. I will chose Like Crazy over a song that not only sounds like a Bieber tune from years ago, but also has lyrics as if they were written by the boys from Larry Clark's Kids.
As to the reaction, Jimin did exactly what I expected him to do. He was humble, grateful and emotional and we saw that when he turned on the livestream. It's what makes him who he is and how he always behaves. As opposed to that, Jungkook wanted to be appear cool. And for what? Especially when later he said how excited he actually was but he refrained from expressing that. Where's the authenticity that he seeks so much through his livestreams? Because he released a song about sex for which he never officially performed live the explicit version, that means that the attitude should match that? I know the next day he was live and he was really nice. But that entire event is tainted in my mind with this almost expectation and confidence that he'll get that no. 1 and after he got the western validation, they decided to remember there's fans at home too and went to Inkigayo.
Which leads me to the last point that shows the obvious bias and preference that cannot simply be denied when it comes to BH. It's even more obvious because the entire BTS brand was that there are no favorites, which is not the same strategy as with other companies and groups. And now, all of a sudden, there is. It's great that BH celebrates an artist's success and they can immediately put on a show. But it doesn't justify how the first one to have the achievement was ignored. I have to admit, I was happy when Jimin got his no. 1 because I thought it only meant more promotions, more Jimin, more of everything. Just to be left utterly confused.
I've put that all in the past and I really try not to get too emotionally involved because as an individual, it has no bearing on my personal life and it doesn't have that many negative effects on my fan engagement.
I side eye Jungkook for how he presents himself in official promotions, but then he goes live and all of a sudden, it's the Jungkook that I'm used to. The guy who is a dork and funny and grateful to his fans. The one who cries hearing fan songs and who still beats himself up for hours because he messed up a song. I do criticize some of his actions and statements, but I'm not slandering him. The guy seems like a genuinely nice person and I still like him. He's still one of my biases for many reasons. But me having this reaction to content catered specifically for fans to create a more intimate connection is something BH was always good at. We only have to look at all the BTS footage out there. They've perfected the way in which personality comes first a lot of the times. It's what draws fans in (aside from music) and what keeps them interested. I'm part of that.
I'm convinced that it's most likely that a Jungkook fan or army or whoever disagrees with me, will read all this and believe I hate Jungkook. Which would be a shame because all I'm trying to do is explain how complex this situation is. It's never as black and white as solo stans would like everyone to believe and it's not a debate that can be generalized and tossed aside as solo talk by the ot7 chorus. I'm sure there are a lot of reasonable people in this fandom still who are able to have more than one thought in their head and see that only through a naunced discussion we can look at facts, see what's an exaggeration and what's false. To be able to distinguish between facts and personal opinion and also to admit that. That's not possible if we're not looking at these people as complex beings, instead of victims and villains.

Bewitched

“I don’t know how you’ve bewitched me, but it needs to stop.”
He says this after he comes to her doorstep in the middle of the night.
“Bewitched you, I didn’t do anything.” The witch said in confusion. Dark hair moused from sleep and brown eyes showing concern for the man who showed up here demanding something even he hadn’t believed himself.
She had; she must’ve had because he cannot get her out of his fucking head.
Thomas would be damned if he let her get away with this.
He had Grace, while he has never been serious about women after Greta, with Grace he felt that perhaps he could begin again.
She quieted the shovels; her lackluster personality soothed him like a shot of morphine.
But then Eva Smith had met his eyes as she walked past his house one morning and it was all over.
He had stared for so long he had felt like they had fucked.
They had been doing this since he returned from France and she’d passed by his window and he had followed her until the witch had left his line of sight.
It had meant nothing, it hadn’t until these past weeks after a gust of wind blew off her hat and her laughter had reached him as she and Finn went after her hat.
After that fucking morning everything had changed.
Her laugh and smile haunted him even when he tried to drown it out with whiskey, gin and Grace.
He thinks about her even when he is with Grace, dreams of brown hair and tan skin and magic.
There are no more tunnels and guns and screams, there is only him following the young witch he can never catch up with.
This morning he had woken up from a dream where had caught her and she had laughed richly saying, so you found me, now what will you do, Mr. Shelby?
Thomas had woken up with Grace asking why he wanted to take the foreign girl over his desk.
Needless to say, things with the barmaid have been ruined because of the fucking witch before him.
He needs this to be over, to have her end whatever shit curse she put on him so he can have his life back.
“You did. You must’ve. I can’t stop thinking about you and I don’t even fucking know you.” He says sounding like a madman by the end of it.
“Have you considered this might not be magic, Mr. Shelby?” the witch asked him, still refusing to say what he needed her to hear.
Maybe the cold barrel of his revolver could make her admit it.
He’s not above threats.
Thomas Michael Shelby is not a good man, violence comes to easy to him since the War.
“Oh, I know that, but I give you my word, there has been no witchcraft of that sort because I don’t know how to do that. The most I can do is use toloache to drug someone and that plant doesn’t grow here, nor would I ever stoop so low.” The witch says having read his mind or guessed why he was reaching into his coat for the fucking gun.
“Then what is it then? If its not your bloody witchcraft, what the fuck is it them?” he asks thinking there was no other reason for this madness.
He feels his hands sweat at the thought of approaching her, he wants to know what she likes, what her perfume smells like, if her hair is as silky as it looks and if there are freckles under the ungodly number of layers she wears.
“I think you are infatuated with me.” She answered with a red tinge in her cheek that he rather liked.
“What the fuck am I, a teenager?” he threw back incredulously. “For fuck’s sake I am turning thirty this year.
I don’t have a crush on you.”
“Says the twenty-nine-year-old man who thinks I put a spell on him.” Eva points out and he supposes she could be right. “Anyways, I am very flattered, if you would like to see where this goes, you can pick me up tomorrow morning, wear the blue shirt and if you need any ideas, I heard the museum is nice.”
“I am not taking you out on a date, Miss Smith.” He scoffed.
“Call me Eva, only fair to let you use my given name after starring in your dreams for so long.” She teased and he fought the urge to roll his eyes at her words.
She was bold, he’d give her that.
“Fine, Eva, I’ll pick you up before noon, we can have lunch there and see where this goes, as you said.” He agrees hoping it will end badly and kill this ‘crush’ once and for all.

Runaway
Tumblr media
YN and Dolph had been thick as thieves ever since she joined the WWE. He was the one that she felt like she could talk about anything with, and he felt the same way about her. So, when childhood memories came up on their carpooled trip to the next event site, it was not even the slightest bit shocking. It was something that they did often, and they enjoyed it.
“When I say Ryan just about broke his arm, I mean it. Kept complaining about it for days." Nic said, trying to contain the chuckle that wanted to slide out underneath his breath.
YN, who had already given in to the fits of laughter that had overtaken her, nodded and said, “Yeah, I would have too if my ass was just dumb enough to jump off of the house just to see if I could land it on a trampoline.” She slowly wiped away the tears that she had shed from laughing as hard as she was. “If the word dumbass had a picture next to it in the dictionary, it would be one of your brother doing that. Which I would have paid to see, just for your information.”
“What about you? Mmm? What stupid shit did you do in your youth?” he questioned with a smile on his face.
YN thought about it for a moment and shook her head. “Other than the whole run away from home at eighteen, I can't say I have done anything completely dumbfounding, to be completely honest with you.”
Nic quickly looked over at her and then back to the road. “You ran away from home?” His tone was one of complete shock. It was not something he expected her to say. Up until that point all he knew was that she had the best relationship with her folks growing up. But the more he started thinking about it the more Dolph realized that she rarely, if ever, spoke about her teenage or young adult years and he never had wondered why until now.
“Uhh… yeah.” YNN said, face falling from the realization she had never told her best friend that little piece of information before. “My childhood was great, you know that, but when I turned thirteen, maybe even fourteen, my parents were going through their divorce. Mom became a workaholic, never spending more than three, maybe four, hours at home, and dad, after moving out, drowned his sorrows in alcohol. He wasn’t a horrible drunk, but he wasn’t the best either.” she confessed as she began to play with the frayed strings at the bottom of her sweatshirt.
Nic was not used to hearing this furious warrior women he has come to know and love sound so small but she was finally opening up that part of her life to him and though he didn’t push her into telling him any of it, he wasn’t about to tell her to stop when she felt him to be a safe person to actually talk about this with.
“I did everything I could to please them both. I did my chores without being asked. Kept my grades up to above average. Applied to both to their preferred colleges and got accepted to both. But it seemed nothing I did was enough. Mom bought a prom dress but wasn’t there to help me get ready, so I ended up not going because it wasn’t going to be the same. She was late for my graduation. By the time she got there I had already walked the stage and accepted my diploma. Dad just didn’t show his face at all. At that point I was done with it all and wanted to trade my life in for a different one. I called my grandma in southern Kentucky and though she didn’t have a room for me, she and grandpa had just kicked out the renters of their rental house and told me if I promised to keep up with the place and help them pay the property bills, it was mine for the taking.” She took a moment to pause and finally looked over at him.
“For me it was a no brainer. I packed everything I thought I would need or want the next day while my mother was at work, left a note for her on her bedroom door, and was gone before she ever got home that night. Haven’t set eyes upon that house since then and honestly don’t plan to either.”
“Do you ever miss it?” he questioned without taking his eyes off the road. “Home, I mean.”
YN just shrugged and looked out of the front windshield. “I miss the home I had when I was a child. But not the one I drove away from that day." She took a deep breath and then continued. “My mother didn’t even notice I was gone for three days before she started calling around. By that time, I had already made it to Kentucky, been there for a day and a half, and grandpa and I were painting the house to colors that were more me. That place hadn’t been home for a long time before then and it won’t be now either. And to be completely honest, if I didn’t leave then the likeliness of me getting into this profession would have been slim to none. My mother never liked the idea of me being into wrestling the way I was, but grandma and grandpa were willing to support me in whatever endeavor I was into. So, there’s that too.”
Dolph nodded at her admission. “Well then, in that case, I'm sorry for the way it happened, but I'm not sorry about where it got you. I don’t think I want to imagine life in this business without you in it.”
YNN smiled slightly. “Even if you were in it at the time I wasn't?”
He chuckled. “I tend not to dwell on that fact for very long,” he confessed. “That was a whole different time.”
The two of them continued their ride with funny stories from their life in the business. Nic was happy that she had opened up to him in a way he hadn’t expected her to. But it gave him a greater understanding of her as a person and for that he was grateful.

what are your expectations for the twilight reboot?
i don't know if i can envision a version of twilight that isn't cringe so i have zero expectations.
I have none either. I can make a few guesses but they could end up entirely wrong.
I believe the studio in charge of the reboot is Lionsgate Television, which among other things has co-produced shows like Mad Men, Dear White People, and several others. Notably, the parent company Lionsgate films produced the Hunger Games films.
What I'm getting at here is that this is a large subsidiary studio of a large well-established studio who has gotten their hands on a well-known IP that is primarily targeted to teenage/young women.
Specifically, they're not going to rock the boat. I expect the show to be marketed towards the audience of the books (young women/teenage girls) and not to a broader adult audience (see Mad Men).
More, given the books were so popular, they'll generally follow the plotline and try to tie into book moments they think audience members will like, but they will tone it down a lot. Much like the movies did.
Twilight will probably be kept entirely intact. We'll have the meadow, we'll have Bella nearly be crushed by a van, the blood testing in Biology, the Italian restaurant scene, the James subplot, etc.
However, details like Edward methodically planning the massacre of his biology classroom, will more than likely be dropped or else glossed over.
We're probably going to get an Edward who's palatable. He still has an aura of mysterious darkness, of course, but the audience can rest assured he's their sweet nerd and cinnamon roll and that the vampirism is just an unfortunate, if sexy, affliction.
We'll also likely get a Bella who's more talkative and takes more initiative. Not only does this address common complaints about the character, but it's very difficult to write a show where one of your main character rarely expresses herself out loud. (If you read the books, what Bella narrates versus what she says are two very different things.)
The movies addressed this in part by keeping the voice over narration for Bella with... uh... effect (I personally thought it was very poorly done and mostly hokey).
They might go the same route in the show, maybe Bella will intro each episode and outtro with a diary she writes in, "Dear Diary, today Edward stared at me, he was hot", or we'll get her voice over in pivotal scenes, or she's going to have to start talking to somebody about what she's feeling and thinking.
However, we'll probably get all the major plot points.
After Twilight, is where we might get changes.
It will probably take the film route and blame Edward's religious nature on his dad. They can't remove it, as Edward needs some reason to deny Bella becoming a vampire even when he and his family eat animals, and it can't be the spicy 'you'll probably eat humans anyway'. In the books what he said was Bella would lose her soul, Carlisle disagreed with this in a conversation with Bella. In the movies, they had Carlisle go all in as it ah--makes Edward look like the misguided product of his parents than it being him being religious himself.
Even though New Moon is hilarious in that the romantic lead disappears for an entire novel and Bella spends that novel hallucinating Edward, they're not going to drop it because of the importance of the Quileute characters as well as Jacob being the secondary love interest.
What they might try to do is spice it up and tone it down at the same time. Rather than be a complete depressed blob the entire novel, we might see Bella make significant recoveries to feed the Jacob/Bella side of the love triangle. We'll also probably spend a lot more time on the tribe both to flesh out the characters and to distract from the giant amount of nothing that happens in New Moon.
Bella may or may not hallucinate Edward. It was a large part of the novel, but it was weird, and never to be mentioned again when Eclipse happened. It's also not too fondly remembered by fans, even fans of the Edward/Bella ship. People remember the meadow and the wedding, not the time Bella rode a motorcycle with Edward saying "Don't dooooo iiiiiiiiit". It's entirely possible the producers would find it too spicy.
On the other hand, it's all we see of Edward of what could be half if not an entire season. Given he's the romantic lead that Bella ultimately ends up with, you can't have him on vacation for a fourth of the show.
So, 50/50 on Hallucination Edward.
Eclipse will probably remain mostly intact as well, as we get an exciting love triangle there, but they'll probably tone down Edward again. No longer will Edward kidnap Bella to his house, too spicy, instead he'll look sad and cuckolded as his girlfriend flirts with Jacob. The tent scene will probably be toned down quite a bit as well to remove some of Edward's more alarming statements.
Actually...
I expect all of Edward to always be toned down in every moment. I'm not sure what the hell they'll have him say, but it won't typically be what he says in the books in his more "WHOA" moments.
Now, Breaking Dawn is... interesting. On the one hand, they can squeeze a season out of it and if they're three seasons in and haven't been canceled yet then why not? On the other hand, it doesn't fit in with a typical teenage story that they want to draw people in for.
Bella's suddenly married??? And pregnant??? With a demon??? Their protagonists are out of high school, Bella's pregnant with a demon and dying, there's a war on and all these weird non-teenage people are showing up.
They could choose to end the show with the wedding. Bella and Edward get married, he promises to turn her, they ride off into the sunset.
On the other hand, there are fans who would murder them and cry tears of blood if they don't get the honeymoon/the rest of breaking dawn (even though fans simultaneously hate breaking dawn).
We could get a Breaking Dawn sans Renesmee. The Volturi instead accuse the Cullens of some crime they very clearly have not committed. Irina narks on them for a crime they didn't commit because she was secretly in love with Edward (her character having been merged with Tanya's) or else becuase she seeks revenge for Laurent and didn't act until now. Bella gets her wedding and honeymoon but has to be summoned back because shenanigans are happening again!
However, in that case, they have to figure out how to turn Bella since one of Edward's primary character traits (and one they can't really change as it would alter the entire plot) is that Edward doesn't want to turn her.) And they're going to want Edward to have to do it versus any other character, as it validates that Edward truly does wish to be with Bella forever.
There could be a subplot where Edward tries to hide Bella in the mountains when the Volturi are coming but Bella tells him, "No, Edward, this time we cannot run" despite, you know, the tent debacle weeks earlier where she said "Edward, we absolutely can run"
But again, I really don't know. I'm in the same boat as the rest of you.

On This Day in 1695: Local Teen Makes King Laugh in Church, Uncle Reports
I happened across this anecdote lately, which I had previously not heard of before:
Tumblr media
Robb, Nesca Adeline: William of Orange, A Personal Portrait (vol. II), London 1962, p. 369.
Constantijn Huygens Jr., the man mentioned in this excerpt, was William III's secretary and companion, who luckily kept a pretty extensive journal, which I consulted to get the original.
The entry for Friday, 8 April 1695 reads:
Translation (caveat: I am not highly proficient in Dutch): [...] In the evening, I went to my niece Becker's, to her and her sister. She said, that she had gone to church last Sunday [Easter Sunday; 3 April 1695] in order to see the King; that she had looked at him from the beginning to the end of th sermon, and that at the end, he was laughing a little at the sight of her.
Original Dutch via: Constantijn Huygens Jr., Journaal van 21 october 1688 tot 2 september 1696. Tweede deel.
What makes this incident so interesting is that we get to see what teenagers in the late 1600s were like. Miss Becker (I really tried to get at her full name, but sadly failed) and her friend had no interest in going to church for Easter Suday: they wanted to go see a celebrity whom Miss Becker's uncle just so happened to be close to.
Now, from letters between Huygens and his employer, we know William III sometimes asked Huygens about his family and Miss Becker was getting occasional mentions in letters from both men. This might suggest that conversely, she was aware of at least select news about her uncle's employer as well, which may have given her the courage to act the way she did, maybe to show off to her friend, maybe because she genuinely cared, from a distance, about the man who'd offer her uncle his opinon on her marriage plans.
As far as I can tell, Miss Becker never met the King prior to this incident, suggesting he may have been able to tell who she was, if at all, based on a family resemblance to her uncle.
It's intriguing to ponder on the characterisation of his niece that Huygens sketches out between the lines of his entry for April 8th; to me, she emerges from the page as a bold young woman with a sense of humour, clearly somewhat outgoing and excited to tell her uncle about her encounter with the most powerful man in the country.
On William's part, his reaction to Miss Becker trying to get his attention is a surprising one; extremely devout, still grieving the loss of the late Mary II deeply and famously adept at keeping his emotions to himself, a grinning King William III, trying to keep a straight face during the Easter Sunday service is hardly the outcome one could have predicted from Miss Becker's quest.
I wish I had more information about Miss Becker, and her later life; in any case, it is fascinating to have been able to catch a glimpse on what teenagers in the 1690s were up to.
Especially the voices of women (not of any particularly high social status) and children are hard to get at throughout large parts of history; to know that an adolescent was bold enough to try and make the head of state crack a smile during a church service, and then told her uncle about it, who in turn recorded the incident for posterity in his journal, is such a refreshing, and insightful find.

Hello there! I’m the anon who couldn’t  understand why and how the brothel situation could foreshadow al*smond. Thank you very much for answering my question. Hope you wouldn’t mind me sending yet another ask. BTW I’m really happy I finally found an ANTI-a*smond friendly space.
Frankly speaking, I will be disappointed if in se2, Aemond’s “relationship” with A*ys is pictured as an overly romantic love story. From what we know from the books, she was literally his s*x slave, watched him butcher her entire family and had every right to, well, not reciprocate Aemond’s feelings even if he actually developed some kind of twisted fondness for her. As you mention, power imbalance between them was at least disturbing. Personally, I hope their relationship in the show would be much like the Melisandre and Stannis situation.
As for A*ys’ age… Well, from the books we learn she looked much younger than 40. The actress cast for this role is in her early 30s. I wonder if Aemond was generally attracted to women twice his age, which is why he spared her, or when he took A*lys as his POW, he thought she was like 7-10 years older than him?  Much as I believe it’s totally fine if you have the “Aemond was a milf hunter” headcanon and enjoy creating such content. However, I don’t understand why and how the “Aemond was into much older women HEADCANON” should debunk the helaemond theory. Personally, I really like helaemond, although I doubt this relationship will be confirmed as show canon. But on the other hand, why should Aemond’s (for want of a better word) romantic interests’ age be the only thing that attract him to them? Maybe those are just my headcanons, but I think Aemond and Helaena have something in common. For example, they both have a streak (Aemond is interested in history and philosophy and Helaena is into biology/entomology) and experienced se*ual abuse. In addition, it seems pretty in-character for !show Aemond to become fascinated with his sister simply because she’s a dragon dreamer. Also, why wouldn’t he want to gently make out with someone who’s an ethereal, melancholic girl approximately his age and not a curvy, dark-haired s*x worker, much older than him. And, most importantly, no one forces him to sleep with her Or maybe teenage Aemond simply needs someone who’d stand by his side and stroke his arm when he’s stressed 😊?
Those are just my thoughts. Thank you for sharing your rants ant theories on this amazing blog. Hope this time I made myself more clear. English is not my first language.
hey there 😇 no problem
i think you're right in that it's very plausible to assume he would find comfort in helaena who has a similar experience to him when it comes to SA and considering that we're shown aegon being annoying to aemond when they're young, and aemond standing up for helaena, we can easily guess he relates to her better than he does aegon. and vice versa.
and when they're older, when aemond walks in the room in episode 9, helaena literally lights up at the sight of him. throughout the second part of the show you can see they're closer to each other than they are to aegon.
in general, i think anyone writing off helaemond completely as being this insanely impossible ship is doing so out of spite and i think the reason alysm*nds portray him as an exclusively milf hunter is because of they relate more to the idea of al*s that they have (not a noble, witch trope, so special that she catches the eye of a prince). and they're weirdly posessive with aemond's character... which is just a character.

Hey Author! I've been reading your posts and I'm really enjoying your writing. I saw that you've been asking for some requests and I have one for you. Could I please get a headcanon on Vampire!Le Sserafim going out at a nightclub, looking for their next meal. They find you, the reader, with a rare blood type that's considered a delicacy in vampire culture. They decide to isolate you and trap you in an alleyway. It isn't until you say "You need to realize I'm not trapped here with you, you're trapped here with me" that they realize that their next meal turns out to be a vampire hunter.
Once again, please and thank you!

Vampires, uh? Fascinating creatures. Some love them and some hate them. Some fear them and some cheer for them. But how much do we really know about them?
Little, to be honest. However the episode i'm about to tell you surely will help you to know them better.
You must know that Hybe, one of the most important company of the country is ruled by vampires, but they are not all the same. Oh no, it would be too easy. There are different clan.
The one I will talk about today is the latest, the new entry, the one composed by the youngest vampires, an in particular, all women.
But enough with the notions from school book. Let's get into the action.
That night you were definitely too well-dressed for your destination: a nightclub. To be precise one of the most famous of the city: the Sour Grapes.
Even before entering the club, you noticed something unusual. This pretty young girl was a few steps from the local and she was just minding her business.
But when you passed by her, she looked into your eyes and give you her biggest smile. It melted your heart. And then she started talking to you.
"Hello, who are you?" "Hi, lovely girl, I'm Y/N, and you?" "I'm Eunchae, nice to meet you! Are you going to the Sour Grapes?" "Yes, indeed, why?" "Oh, well, I was thinking that someone with such a beautiful suit shouldn't be lining up, would you like to enter through the staff entrance?"
You were surprised by the sweetness and confidence of this teenager, but you were also worried about another thing. "Yes, Eunchae, I would love, but are you not too much young to work in such a place?" "And are you not too much classy to visit such a place?".
"Touché" you thought. "However", she continued, "don't worry, I only work in kitchen. Now come with me!" Said that she grabbed your hands and she took by you in the alleway.
You two entered in the club and for just a moment you were displaced by the lights and sounds of the local. But with help of the little Chae, you overcomed them in no time.
After few minutes Eunchae started running towards a person, while calling her name, "KURA-CHAN!".
The person, that you presumed to be japanese by her nickname, hugged the younger one and then looked at you for seconds that seemed hours. She was not just looking at you, she was staring as she was judging you.
The moments ended because Eunchae introduced you and explained you that Sakura, her complete name, was the nightclub's manager.
"Oh, Eunchae, you did a great job! Such a beautiful person should be a guest of the Sour Grapes. Now leave this to me. And go talking to Chaewon, she needs to be...informed".
That’s when you knew the game had started
From there you said bye to the maknae and let Sakura show you her local: the tables, the pole dance poles and the bar.
Here she started talking to the bartender, "Yujin-ah, do you see this beautiful face? Well, tonight everything is on the house for this face. So, do your best to satisfy Y/N."
Yujin bowed to her superior, then started talking with you. "Hello gorgeous, what can I do for you?". You thought about it one second, maybe two, and with the utmost nonchalance, you said...
"A Bloody Mary". Yunjin looked at you with a giant smirk on her face. When you asked her about it, she only answered "Oh, I just found it funny, because it's my favorite cocktail".
She gave you the cocktail and then has shown you the way to the best spot to watch the pole dancers. But before you went, she said "If you need anything, just raise a hand and someone will come to you"
With the red liquid in your hand, you reached the spot Yunjin pointed to you. You sat on a comfy sofà and started chilling.
After few seconds a girl approached the pole and started looking at you. She was pale, beautiful and her facial features so delicate. You two didn't talk actually, but you did it with your eyes.
A man near the DJ announced with a micro "And now starts the show of Kazuha, the Japanese swan". And he was damn right. Her elegance on the pole was incredible. Sometimes it seemed to you the she almost floated.
You were mesmerized by her performance. You could have stay here for hours without stopping watching her, but someone interrupted you.
It was this man clearly drunk, more gel than hair and the shirt which was about to explode due to his belly. "Look at you, all alone in this dark place, do you need some company?"
You simply looked into his eyes and said "No, go away". You must have hurt his pride because his drunk face turned into an angry espression.
"How dare you tell me what to do? You'll pay for this, you stupid b-". His rant stopped because out of nowhere he collapsed. You thought he just passed out because he was drunk as hell.
Actually it was not the reason. In fact right behind the figure of the big man, there was a short girl with the bob haircut.
"Sorry for the inconvenience, I hope this asshole didn't bother you too much. I'm Chaewon, the head of the security, and I would like to give you my honest apologies".
So she was Chaewon. You told her that it was all good, but she insisted to help you to clean up. In fact the drunk man, falling on the floor, spilled part of his drink on you.
At the end you accepted, so she started to guide you towards the toilet. But you were not that stupid and you know perfectly that you were going to the opposite direction.
So when you ended up in the initial alleyway, you were not surprised. And you were not surprised neither by the fact that outside Kazuha, Sakura, Yunjin and Eunchae were waiting for you.
Chaewon, behind you, pushed you in the middle of the group. "It must be our lucky day, girls, such a rare bloody type is quite something to find", said Sakura.
"Even better if it comes to you on its own legs. Come on girls, let's start the meal". Finished Yunjin. All the girls let their sharp canines go out.
Tsk tsk. Young vampires...how boring. They are so predictable and ingenuos. You could simply take your silver gun and end them in few minutes, but why do not have a bit of fun?
At the first step they made towards you, you simply took off your coat. They freezed. "What is this smell? It's terrible. I can't breath." Said the maknae.
"Oh, this? This is pink garlic of Agrigento, Sicily. One of the best vampire repellent", you answered.
"Why did we not smell till now? Kazuha asked. "How did you know our identities?" was the question of Chaewon.
"Why? How? What? Oh, come on, girls, this is not school. I have rare blood type, as you said, so I live with a target on my back. Being prepared is the minimum".
The girls at that point were about to pass out. It was a matter of seconds. While the blacking out, the last thing they heard was your voice. "Thanks for the night, girls, I had fun. I have been your guest, so be mine for a bit. Goodnight".

Okay @sgt-col-lenix here’s a little Harry & Meghan primer, chronologically. It got long😅 Let me know if you want more and what about!
***
So most of us know that Charles & Diana had two boys, William, the heir, and Harry, the spare. For the sake of the monarchy, William was always marketed as the son who was more worthy of ascending to the throne because…he was going to…no matter what. (Royalty and primogeniture have nothing at all to do with worthiness.) Diana died, and people began to see in Harry a lot of his mother—a natural charisma and ability to connect to people with a little rebellious streak. As the princes grew up and became teenagers and young adults, it’s likely that Charles’ staff and William’s staff took advantage of that charisma and rebellious streak to leak to the press against Harry to distract when they needed to and to generally make Harry seem like the less mature, wayward son. Harry was used as a foil to make William look better by comparison.
Harry didn’t attend university like William did, but instead joined the army and did two tours in Afghanistan (he was pulled from the first because he’s a high-value target and the UK media had leaked his whereabouts). He flew helicopters the second time around.
Anyway, in between the army and prince stuff, Harry dated a bit—namely, two blonde girls, Chelsy, a South African, and Cressida, a Brit. It’s rumored that both ended up breaking up with Harry because royal life as spouse of the non-heir, with the constant pomp & circumstance and media intrusion, sucked so bad. So much easier to just marry a regular rich person and remain relatively anonymous.
Meghan, meanwhile, grew up in California, splitting her childhood between her divorced parents, Doria, who is African American, and white trash Thomas Markle. Thomas had children from a previous marriage, but they were both so much older than Meghan that she essentially grew up as an only child. Meghan grew up around TV sets because Thomas was a crew member (lighting, I believe). She attended a private, middle class Catholic high school and then Northwestern Univ., where she majored in International Relations and Drama, I believe. She began life as a working actress after she graduated, taking any role she could get (including as a suitcase girl on Deal or No Deal). She married a small-time film producer, and they divorced shortly after she got her first break on Suits and moved to Toronto, where Suits filmed. Meghan used even her small platform as a D-list (?) celebrity to do work for UN Women and other organizations. She took on brand deals from Ralph Lauren and maybe some other places, and after a few years on Suits became a millionaire herself. She bought herself the Cartier Tank watch and had it inscribed “To M, From M” or something like that. She dated a very hot celebrity chef in 2015-16, but basically got to know the cool kids in Toronto, including a son of a former Canadian prime minister.
Mutual friends introduced Harry and Meghan in early July 2016. They fell in love basically immediately. Unlike Harry’s previous girlfriends, Meghan was eager to live a public life because she wanted to use her platform to uplift historically marginalized communities and especially women’s voices around the UK and Commonwealth. After dating in secret for a few months, the media revealed that Meghan was Harry’s new girlfriend in late October 2016. Within days of Meghan being revealed, the racist, anti-Meghan headlines covered UK tabloids. Harry had to issue a letter begging the media to please stop and leave her alone (royals had never done something like that before).
The undercurrent of racism and anti-American snobbery in the conservative UK press never really went away, but the international media was also captivated by Meghan leading up to the royal wedding, especially in the months after the first engagement interview on the BBC, when she began attending public events with Harry. She was so different than other royal people not just because she is biracial and proud of it but because she wanted to work and to use her platform and her voice, and she approached the whole experience as a job. She even wore pantsuits. People were enthralled, and, in hindsight, it’s pretty clear that William began to get jealous of Harry & Meghan pretty early on.
Meghan & Harry’s royal wedding included elements of Anglo-African and African-American culture, and though those components were celebrated at the time, there were bits of mockery here and there including from Harry’s family. There are reports that some cousins engaged in racist microaggressions, too.
After the wedding in May 2018, there was a brief honeymoon period, although that was always peppered with headlines about how Meghan was always wearing the wrong things and doing the wrong things at royal events—not so subtle implications that she didn’t belong.
Everything turned south in fall 2018. Meghan announced her first pregnancy, and Harry & Meghan had an extremely successful and popular tour of Oceania. The UK media turned against Meghan very hard. The microaggressions ramped up and rumors began to swirl that Meghan was difficult and a bully. At the time William was dealing with affair rumors, trying to keep them out of the press. After Charles’s affairs and marriage to Camilla, whom Charles desperately wants to be Queen someday, rumors of royal affairs could land a devestaingly blow to the popularity of the monarchy, and popularity—mostly attached to the person of Elizabeth—is all it really has (besides inertia). Anyhow, it’s pretty clear that William’s staff began leaking negative stories to the UK press about Meghan so that the press would agree to keep William’s affairs out of the headlines. Charles probably condoned this. One zombie story that will not die is that Meghan said something to Kate at a wedding rehearsal that made Kate cry. None of them were specific, and all of them were very nasty, but they sold papers and covered for William, so Kensington Palace (William’s office) and the Royal rota (the name for the group of UK reporters that covers the royals) kept up what Harry’s described as an “invisible contract.”
Meanwhile, Meghan’s bosses—Elizabeth’s staff, Charles’s staff, and William’s staff—saw that Meghan and especially Harry & Meghan together, were/was outshining everyone else in the family. She had had dreams and plans to use her platform to bring awareness to the causes that she had always considered important (mainly around women and woc’s voices), but her bosses told her to stay out of the media, and since the media was in a Meghan-frenzy, that meant that she had to literally stay inside at home all the time. All the while, the media was abusing her in nasty and often explicitly racist and sexist ways. She was quite pregnant in winter/spring 2019, and she has said that she seriously contemplated suicide because she felt Harry’s life would be easier if she didn’t exist.
So in fall 2019/winter 2020, Harry tried to negotiate his and Meghan’s way out of the “invisible contract.” He wanted to stop receiving public funding and in exchange to get some freedom from the Royal bubble, perhaps so he and Meghan could live abroad, maybe even out in the Commonwealth, for a portion of every year. His half in/half out proposal was rejected by Elizabeth, Charles, and their staff, and so Harry & Meghan left completely. They lost most of their patronages and, crucially, their security. It’s not clear that they had to lose either, and the decision came across as petty.
Harry and Meghan stayed at friends’ houses for a few months and then eventually purchased their own place in California. They started lining up jobs and deals to become financially independent and pay for their own security. They signed with Netflix and Spotify, and Harry got a job at BetterUp. They created their own foundation, Archewell, to manage all of their work, including their continuing work to bring awareness and money to causes that are important to them.
In early 2021, they gave a relatively candid interview to Oprah. In the days leading up to it, William’s Kensington Palace office launched an obvious and very aggressive smear campaign against Meghan, vaguely accusing her of bullying staff and being…I don’t know, tough? They pretended that there would be an investigation into Meghan’s time as a working royal, but that never panned out because of…reasons. The point was obviously to undermine what KP anticipated Meghan and Harry would say to Oprah. In the interview, Harry spoke about the “invisible contract” that keep other members of his family beholden to the tabloid press and the royal rota. Harry expressed that he’d been disappointed in both his father’s and brother’s handling of the whole situation; he felt abandoned at his moments of greatest need. Meghan said that, before Archie’s birth, a member of the royal family had expressed concern about what would be the color of Archie’s skin, and simultaneously the offices were already telling Harry and Meghan that neither they nor Archie would receive royal security protection, even before they contemplated quitting as working royals, and Archie would not receive the title of “Prince of England.” (He is in the same position within the hierarchy as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were when they were his age.) Meghan also said she was effectively abandoned by the family and staff while she was a working royal, and this despite feeling in the verge of suicide.
They escaped thank god. Meghan was pregnant with her second child, who she and Harry named after the Queen, Lilibet, when she did the Oprah interview, and now Lili is 1yo and Archie is 3yo.
Anyway, Harry and Meghan are building their post-royal brand now. Harry’s held on to some charitable work that’s always been important to him: for example, the Invictus Games, Sentebale, and Travelyst. Meghan’s starting some new initiatives on topics that she’s always been passionate about, like her forthcoming podcast about the language of sexism. They remain very popular internationally, of course, and we all expect them to continue to support their causes.
The UK conservative press & tabloids will continue to drum up controversy and mean-spirited gossip about them because doing so sells papers and gets clicks and because probably Clarence House (Charles’s office) and Kensington Palace (William’s) are leaking and encouraging them to do so to distract from the other princes’ own misdeeds. Don’t believe any of it.

Hi Emilia. I just want to say seriously how much your ep8 Joel & Ellie piece is just incredible. I’ve really enjoyed seeing your work on the dash over the past couple of months while TLOU has been on, and it has always taken my breath away. This most recent one is just — gorgeous and devastating. The way you’ve captured Ellie’s expression … it’s a look that so many women and girls know so well, and it is just perfectly detailed. Honestly, truly, amazing. Thank you for sharing with us!
Hi Nonnie! Gosh, thank you so, so much - I am extremely happy to hear that you think so! Man. This piece is very emotionally loaded, but then so is the episode - apparently the Winter chapter always hits hard, no matter if it's the game or the show. It makes it so clear that Ellie, while she's smart and strong and capable it's still a child, a young teenager who suddenly has to not only keep herself alive, but also take care of Joel - the pressure is absolutely crushing. And she does it. It makes her take risks she maybe wouldn't have had taken otherwise, but God, she does it - she makes sure that the place they stay in is safe, she keeps Joel as warm as she can, checks for fever, checks the wound, gives him water and whatever they have left of food. That alone is absolutely terrifying, without the perspective of having other hostile people or infected added to the equation.
And the way she hesitantly cuddled up with Joel, and just lied there, her head on his shoulder, mind probably running wild through all the possible scenarios, all the what if's and maybes? (And how he slightly moves his head towards her? I cried, Nonnie. I am surprised I was able to see anything at all of this episode with how freaking teary eyed I was most of the time) I just- I just love Ellie with my whole heart, okay? This whole episode she was both terrified and so, so determined, and fucking hell, it broke me. She locked the house, she picked the rifle that was almost as big as she is, and she went hunting. She went hunting knowing she has to bring something back, knowing that her failure might cost her both Joel's and her's life. And then, there's David. David is hands down the worst enemy I have ever had the displeasure of facing - he makes my skin crawl and my insides turn. I have to say, big kudos for HBO for making him as awful in the show as he was in the game. David and his dead shark eyes and shark smiles, a man that activates all of your fight and flight responses the second your eyes land on him. And you're a fourteen years old girl, trying to stay alive, trying to make a deal while suffocating under enormous time pressure - every wasted minute might mean losing the chance of saving the person you love with all of your heart, who is currently wounded, sick, and barely breathing, tucked under some dirty blankets in a freezing basement of a house you're way too far away from. I cannot even imagine the absolute fucking terror Ellie had to feel when later they came back for her - for them - and she had to make another hard choice. How she put that knife in Joel's hand, who was barely conscious at that point, making sure he could defend himself before leaving the house, locking it up, and trying to led them away, making sure they are hunting her because staying there and waiting form them to inevitably find them meant death, because she won't be able to protect them both. So she left, she got their attention, she ran the exact opposite way of someone who means safety to her, because that was her best shot at keeping him - them - alive. And then they got her, and kept her in a cage, with no means of escaping, not knowing what they want to do with her, not knowing if they got Joel or not - only knowing she has to get out, escape, because she has no time to waste, because for all she knows her dying also meant leaving Joel to slowly die in that basement, no food, no water, his whole world just a fever dream where you're not sure what's real and what's not. That, or the men will get to him first. And there's David; David making you recoil more violently than any infected ever could, David and his sickly, rotting-sweet words and clammy hands. And he tells her how they are the same, how he can be her teacher, her father, have her be his equal. And Ellie fights, and screams, and bite - and God, she's so smart but still just fourteen, everyone is bigger and stronger than she is, her chances of fighting someone 1 on 1 and winning are slim to none. People who have never played the game - I need you to understand just how terrifying the part of escaping the restaurant is. From a technical point of view it is not that hard, sure. But it's terrifying, having David hunt you through the kitchen and the dining hall, having to sneak around the tables, watching for broken plates on the floor - because if you made a mistake you were as good as dead; he was fast, and he was stronger than you, and you couldn't even see him in the dark. David was scary, and it was such instinctual fear that you can feel it in your bones - and Ellie's just a girl. And he's hunting her like an animal and enjoying it. David was scary for so many other reasons than being a cult leader and a cannibal.
And then Ellie is able to save herself, hands wrapped tight around the hilt of that meat cleaver, and she just strikes, and strikes, and strikes, even after David's long gone, his blood cooling on her skin. It's the fear, the rage, the horror - not just because of David, but because of everything that lead up to this moment. And she looks so dazed after she leaves the restaurant, and she barely takes a dozen of steps before she thinks she has to fight for her life again. But then it's Joel, all soft voice and steady hands, and you can see the moment she realizes it, really sees him through the haze of adrenaline and all of her instincts screaming for her to fight and run and survive. You can see it in the way her shoulders slump, how her eyes search his face, still barely focused, how she tries to tell him what happened, because he's here, he came for her, he's warm and alive and he's her home. And when she moves to hug him he holds her, because he's got her now, it's okay, baby girl, he won't let anything else happen to her, he will always come for her, he will do anything for her, to keep her safe. . He's gentle, and patient, and he wraps her in his jacket, staying close, trying to offer all the comfort he can, Because Joel might not always be a good man, but being a good, loving dad is the only way he knows how to be a father And Ellie's empty stare is haunting, vacant eyes not really focused on anything, her mind not being able to deal with all the horrors anymore, everything crashing the moment she feels like she is safe, everything crashing untill all you feel is nothing - just a cold, numb void. Bella deserves all the awards just for this episode alone - we couldn't have imagined a better Ellie. All the emotions and feeling they put on the screen....God, it broke my heart. I couldn't help but to just... sit down and draw it, you know Nonnie? I can't stop thinking about this ep. Again, thank you so, so much for the ask! And... I do apologize for the rant. I, uh. Have a lot of feelings about it all. Your message means the world <3

Did you read or watch em all? It took forever for me to go back and read DB but in my defense, it wasn’t on Cartoon Network when I could watch it.
Or if you wanna crack open a surprisingly vitriolic topic: what is your stance on Bulma and Yamcha lmao
i watched them all!! there's a bunch of filler that i skipped like the stupid garlic jr arc and the other world tournament but ive seen a good 80% of it! at some point i'll go back and watch the rest of the dbz movies and filler cuz i wanna see goku and piccolo learn how to drive 🥴 and then the scene when goku fights caterpie and gets... well, y'know 🤫
BUT OK SO REGARDING BULMA AND YAMCHA (putting this under the cut because it turned into a doctorate essay)
Tumblr media
aight so boom
i want people to keep in mind that these two met as teenagers. they were still basically kids, they both dreamed of having the perfect boyfriend/girlfriend, and their chance meeting seemed like fate. right? well, one hard lesson u learn when you get to be my age 👵🏽 is that people change drastically from ages 16-21. you're discovering who you are, struggling with figuring out what you want in life, struggling with growing up and suddenly being an adult and not knowing wtf you're supposed to do. what happened to bulma and yamcha is something that happens to a lot of high school sweethearts.
they grew, and they grew apart.
realistically, i think this is what happened. yamcha got over his fear of women and gained some confidence in himself once he got comfortable being around bulma. he gained some fame as a martial artist and started interacting with other girls, maybe started to get along with them better than he did bulma and started to question if the two of them were really compatible.
bulma probably learned that she shouldn't just choose a guy just cuz he's attractive and for the sake of having a boyfriend. maybe she wanted something out of the relationship he couldn't give her. or maybe she realized she didn't actually like who he was, and had been blinded by her attraction to him.
there's a million hypothetical reasons why it didn't work out, but this much is true. bulma and yamcha's relationship was always kinda rocky. even in OGDB they were constantly fighting. i don't think yamcha necessarily "cheated" on her, but i think their problems came to a head at one point and things could've been interpreted that way. unhealthy relationships can get really messy, especially when you're a young adult, and ESPECIALLY if it's your first relationship.
i know there's that controversial Future Trunks line that people say was mistranslated ("Mother said he was unfaithful.") but even toriyama himself made a comment in an interview saying yamcha was a fuckboy lol. even though that was mostly said in jest.
me personally, i don't think he outright cheated. i imagine/headcanon that he probably did something dumb as fuck, and bulma interpreted it as cheating. or maybe he just simply couldn't commit the way he wanted to and that hurt her. either way, yamcha is still a stand-up guy, and i don't think it's fair to assassinate his character just to dunk on him with VegeBul. and this is coming from a VegeBul stan!! i mean, they were on friendly terms even after she had Vegeta's baby and married him! so clearly she still valued him as a friend. i don't think she would've invited him around if he was truly this horrible cheating bastard.

I’ve lurked on this blog long enough. Now I want to talk about my own story.
For context, I’m a bisexual teenage girl living in a very liberal city. I’ve had Tumblr since middle school and was on board entirely with the “LGBTQIAP” community. However, in the following years, I began questioning their rhetoric more and more. I failed to see queer theorists and liberal feminists be able to define pansexuality, how a medical condition such as intersex qualifies as being part of a community oppressed on the basis of same sex attraction, how queer is a slur, so on and so forth. So, my acronym shortened to LGBT. I wanted to include this portion because people do claim that “saying xyz isn’t part of the LGBT community is TERF rhetoric!” nowadays, and also to show how easily swayed my disposition was to the point where I could include titles with undefinable definitions.
Here’s where the T came in. Two people have medically transitioned in my high school, both males. One was an out and proud gay male for a while, only to transition while he was 16-17. He was known as just “the gay guy” by just about everyone, and his only friends were women. The other one is one I’ll talk more about in detail.
He’s an autogynephile. I initially was supportive of him, even going as far as to assist him in self medication when we were in school. However, more and more of what he said began to unnerve me. First off, he said he had sexual fantasies of being a transgender sex slave that would become a biological girl in the process of intercourse before transition. Another was that he claimed he dated his ex girlfriend post transition, only to break up because “she doesn’t like girls”. My brain struggled to reconcile how anything about him changed except for his vocal fry, hormonal balance, and wardrobe. If he was truly a woman all along like TRA me claimed, didn’t that mean she’s bisexual for dating him pre-transition and that rejecting him is prejudiced? There’s more skinwalking when it came to his identity, as he stole the current name he is going as from a girl he used to like, and outright admitted that he adapted his personality and mannerisms from another girl in our school (for context, she is very short, Asian, wore cute blouses/skirts, had a feminine voice, and a lot of boys liked her). He would ask his friends whether they saw similarities between him and her, and get excited when they said they could see the resemblance. If we were still in high school, I would tell her that nearly 3-4 years after contacting one another, this man is still trying to model himself after her. Skinwalking much? Some side notes are that he enjoys talking about lesbians, lesbian catgirls, and anime lesbian catgirls. When I confronted him about whether he was lesbian or not, he claimed that he’s bisexual but only liked one or two guys ever. Even TRA me was skeptical, having seen gay/lesbian history and experiences co opted by fellow bisexuals, but I let it slide on the basis of “maybe he’s just misguided.” When someone tells you who you are, believe them.
Initially, I discovered a radical feminist Twitter account and began reading, and I pieced everything together. Being East Asian, the transgender community has taken their cultural and racial fetish for Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Thai BL/GL content way too far. I admit, I have pangs of doubt that some of the stories I’m reading on here are fake or caricaturized when mentioning their lesbian porn & catgirl obsessions, but I know my own life & I have no doubt more of these men exist & form communities together. I just can’t believe that they are a legally protected class & that it’s gotten to this point. Entertain their delusions or get doxxed. The 40-50 something gender critical community on Reddit and Twitter don’t get how harrowing it is for young LGB people to have to sit through being lumped with a community that is destroying the definition of woman and all sex based protections that come with it.
