WIP Tag Game
Tagged by @seiya-starsniper thank you :3
Rules: Share 100 words or so of a WIP, and then add an extra line
I’ve got a lot of editing left on this, but here’s some of chapter 3 of Crawling Back To You (below a cut due to adult content of the murder and sex varieties. key word there being “and”)
Not tagging anyone but put yourself as tagged by me if you wanna!
The knife slides between Hob’s ribs, and he smiles as blood spills up into his mouth. As the life flees Hob’s body, Corinthian slows down, rolling his hips gently into the limp body beneath him.
Hob watches the way Corinthian handles his corpse, and wonders about his feelings. That’s not the behavior of someone desperate for violence, thats the relief of getting to care without being seen doing it.
Suddenly Hob feels guilty for not having told Corinthian that he sticks around during his deaths. He feels like he’s stealing something, watching a moment not meant to be seen, even though it’s with his own body.

The trouble with humans is that over our history our capacity for empathy didn’t evolve at the same pace as our capacity to do harm.
Doing harm is easy. Drop a bomb, kill a couple hundred thousand people.
Grieve and mourn and have empathy for those people and their families and a traumatized country? Really really hard. Maybe even impossible. Actually having empathy for each human murdered would crush any individual person.
Empathy is a skill that we have to learn and stretch and grow just like any other, and instead we learn how to kill each other and the planet.
