About the yan!fisherman. What about a cute little siren darling that’s too colorful and loud for their own good, only to get ensnared by a angry deep sea fisherman captain. Who only promises to let them go if he can have a wish in return. (Old mermaid tales say mermaids could grant wishes to those who save them or return their hair comb) And darlings like, I wouldn’t need saving if you’d let me go. I’m not granting you a wish just because you threaten me. ( like pirates of the Caribbean, they’re hard to crack) so the fisherman captain keeps his darling on his ship in a converted tank and kills off the rest of the crew. Eventually wearing away the mermaid darlings resolve till they say yes. And the captain had been thinking about wishing the mermaid to be human but knows those tales never end well. Either his prize runs back to the sea, or one of them dies before the other due to a shortened mortal life. Which doesn’t appeal because he hates land and wants to be out at sea which he can’t if he’s constantly making sure they don’t leave him. And he wants to be with them for eternity, regardless of darling’s wishes.
So he kills two birds with one stone and wishes “for my heart’s desire”. Only the wish is twisted by his obsession, unbeknownst to darling. But they still grant it because they believe his one true desire is greed like most humans… which they’re not wrong. So he becomes a huge terrifying shark merman, or maybe a cecalia, or giant sea snake naga.
And now you’ve got a sea monster that hates humans and his shiny little siren that he can make scream and sing others to their death.
… or what about a reverse harem of deep sea fishermen turned into sea monsters to protect their little darling by one tainted wish. Darling grants the captain’s wish and it “condemns” the small boat like Davy Jones. So now mermaid darling has more to outswim.
oh my god??? I can't describe how genius you are anon! mermaid darling and her yan!fisherman turned into sea monster?!!! I'm going to combine both of the ideas and make a sea monster harem instead becauseeeeeeeeee 😮‍💨🤭 I only know a little about pirates of the Caribbean so please forgive me with the inaccuracies and I'm sorry if this is pretty short, I can continue this and turn this into a series if you like!
note: mermaid!darling is referred to as she/her please don't read if you don't feel comfortable thank you!

yan!sea monster harem x mermaid!darling/reader
As a mermaid, you've heard from your sisters that some of those like you were captured from those above.
You did not exactly expect to be captured by one of them, especially them.
You blame your colorful tail for attracting too much attention, you managed to throw everyone who went after you so far and your sisters think you're truly lucky but this time you ran out of luck.
Not only are you aware of the bounty set upon your head, you are also believed to be the most powerful of all mermaids which they aren't wrong about. However you have not granted any humans a wish yet. As you believe them to be the most vile of beings.
They are too brutish and rude and cruel. You did not like them one bit.
As soon as you got caught into their net you did not hesitate to flail around as an attempt to set yourself free. You snarled at everyone showing your viscious at the pesky humans.
Your sharp claws tear out through the net and smack everything with your tail. Unfortunately you got stopped by the captain.
His tall, menacing frame looming over you like a boulder with a grumpy face. He shows no reaction at your defensive state and it only scares you more than the other way around.
He corners you and kneels down to your level, he gave you an offer.
The captain will only let you go once you grant a wish of his however in your fury you instead jumped into him and pinned him down, snarling as you try to choke him.
His crew surrounds you each with a weapon in their hand, threatening to kill you unless you let go.
You kept being defiant until one of them got to restrain you setting your victim free.
The poor crew mate groans as he tries to not let you go.
The captain ordered for you to be hidden in the ship until they figure out how to break you.
So you get hidden in a cabin into a tank filled with water allowing you to live above the sea.
As long as they keep you, you refuse to agree to their conditions. Their offers being returned with a glare or an attack from you.
Until, one of the younger crew got closer to you. Watching and observing how you interact with the young one.
They all secretly watch as you the young crew mate won you over with their smiles and gentle demeanor, granting them the opportunity to see another side of yourself.
Your heart begins to soften and sing a song for the youngster.
The other crew told this to the captain and watched with his own eyes the scene unfolding. He urges the crew mate to get closer to you.
One by one they start to get obsessed with you. The crew either fight on who's turn to give you some food to eat or they wrestle among each other who gets to hear you sing to them first.
It only got worse when the captain got involved, one night he caught himself listening to your melodies and felt something he had never experienced before.
He eventually chased for this feeling and he knew that only you can satisfy him and his dark desires.
So his desire further strayed away from what he wanted and darker as his desires were focused on you.
At one point his impatience got into him and barged into the cabin you're at and threatens to kill the crew mate you grew fond of, your eyes pool with pearls and panic present on your face as you try to grab onto him.
He tells you that he will certainly finish the crew mate if you don't agree immediately, he asks you to grant his wish and you ask him what it is. He replies..
"for my heart's desire"
You assume it has something to do with wealth and power but oh you were wrong.
You watch as the captain slowly morphs into a sea monster. The scene is so grotesque that you tried to shield yourself away from the scene.
Outside the cabin, the whole crew starts to fall ill and scream in pain as their bodies start to turn different. Their skin turning into scales or being covered by corals and such.
Even the young crew mate you adored was not spared from the awful transformation. As the wish manifests into reality so does a storm, overturning the ship upside down as an enormous wave swallows the ship whole.
The ship gets wrecked and you try to escape into the ocean and swim away only to get caught by a powerful force wrapped around you and you turn to face it.
Only a horrifying sight greets you as the crew were turned into predatory monsters that will sure haunt all over the seas.
The one keeping you captive is the captain, he became an enormous sea monster that towers over you. With long tentacles and his eyes glowing with evil.
His tentacles engulf your whole being as you struggle to get out of his hold, blocking you away from the rest of the world.

From the recent mermaid ask game 1, 8 and 10?
I love MerMay and this prompt list looks great!
Thanks any if its a no, 🫧 bubble anon🫧
Hi Bubble Anon! I’d love to! Thanks for requesting this, here you go!
From this ask game
Whumper strode along the beach, looking out at the water, the sun giving it a beautiful shimmer. Whumper often liked to come here to admire the scenery and look for seashells. Whumper carried a bag with them to collect the little treasures they found in the sand. Little did they know that today’s find would be much better than a seashell.
Whumper was just about to pick up a sand dollar when something glittery caught their eye. Whumper strode closer and just barely stifled a gasp. Sharp rocks trapped a resplendent fish’s tail. There was red seeping out of it, and on the other side of the tail was the upper half of a person. Their breathing was labored and shallow, and their eyes were closed. Their long, wet hair clung to their face, and their webbed ears poked out between the strands. Sparkling scales decorated their upper half here and there. They were the most stunning creature Whumper had ever seen.
Whumper gingerly climbed over the rocks to where the merperson lay. They slowly and carefully freed the merperson’s tail from its trap. They lifted the merperson in a bridal carry. The blood from their tail dribbled onto Whumper’s skin, but Whumper didn’t care. To them, even their blood was beautiful.
Whumper turned back the way they had come, carrying the unconscious merperson with them. It was as if the sea had dropped off a gift just for them, and Whumper intended to take very good care of it.
Whumpee stirred against something hard. They opened their eyes to a plain, white bathroom. Whumpee looked around in confusion, their head whipping around when they heard the sound of a door opening.
“Oh my,” a stranger said, “you’re awake.”
The stranger bent down against the rim of the bathtub, which Whumpee realized they were laying in, and reached out to stroke Whumpee’s hair. Whumpee flinched back, their tail splashing in the water.
“Oh no, darling, don’t do that!” the stranger said quickly, “you’ll aggravate things.”
Whumpee followed the stranger’s gaze to their tail. There were soft, white bandages wrapped snugly around it. Whumpee looked back at the stranger with wide, fearful eyes.
“Don’t look so frightened,” the stranger cooed, “I’m not going to hurt you. I spent a good half-hour tending to you.”
“Who-” Whumpee swallowed, “who are you? Where am I?”
“My name is Whumper,” the stranger answered, “and you’re home, little one.”
“Home?”
Whumper nodded, a sparkle in their eye.
“The bathroom is only temporary, of course,” Whumper said, “I’ve already ordered better living arrangements for you. The tank should be here in a few days.”
“Tank?” Whumpee asked, “I don’t understand-”
“Don’t you?” Whumper tilted their head, “I’ve rescued you from the harsh, unforgiving sea. You’re going to live with me now, safe and cared for.”
“Wha- no!” Whumpee cried, “no, I have to get back. I have to go home. Please, take me home!”
“Little one, you are home,” Whumper said, standing up, “you need to accept that, or you won’t acclimate as well.”
Whumper started to leave. When they got to the door, they turned to look at Whumpee.
“I’m going to go do some research, but I’ll be back soon,” Whumper promised.
Whumper closed the door behind them. Whumpee looked around the small bathroom again. Their breaths came in short gasps and their eyes went wide. They were trapped, and there was nothing they could do about it.

can you do a male siren with a reader who loves the ocean and spends as much time as she’s able to there? maybe she’s at the beach for a week long vacation and manages to catch his eye and then she mentions in passing that she’s sad to leave the beach and go back to work and it makes him upset so he just takes her?
oh, and if it’s not too much, could you make the siren a softer, more worshippy/delusional yandere?
Thank you for requesting! Enjoy! ^-^

»»———————— ♡ ————————««
Your time with him was magical.
Not a surprise, considering he was a creature straight out of a fairy tale, and you were the human he chose to spend his time with, making it a fantasy romance. Everything felt unreal when you were with him, but you preferred to call it magical.
In the deep violet of his eyes swirled waves of adoration, unfiltered and untainted by doubts or worries. Time was of no concern to him, and he spent his days as he pleased with no responsibilities nagging or occupying him. There was no societal norm he had to conform to, nothing but his own self-preservation to care for. If he was hungry, he hunted. If he wanted to lounge in the sun, he'd find a nice ledge. And if he wanted to play, he found an activity he enjoyed.
He was different. And as much as you wished you were too, you'd never be like him.
Frankly, because you couldn't live most of your life underwater. Next to him, you felt like you could barely swim even though you spent all your childhood by the ocean. It's why the sight of such a strange creature only mildly concerned you, intriguing you even more. Coming home after living in the city for way too long, you felt like this encounter might have been destiny. As if to remind you where you truly belonged—by the ocean.
But your responsibilities were already clawing at your back, whispering in your ear that tomorrow, you'd be gone and forget about this strange but positive encounter. Tomorrow, you'd return to the dull life of your 9-5, yearning for the ocean you couldn't afford to live closer to. Reaching out your hand, you intended to push some strands of hair that had fallen into your unusual friend's face behind his pointed ears, but he caught it before you could smooth the strands back, nuzzling his face into your palm. It wouldn't fit even if he tried to put all of him in this little palm of yours, offering himself on a silver plate (or, well, your hand). He'd been a creature of no words, but the grandness of gestures came to him easily.
He had no reservations about rubbing his face against you, purring as he pushed it into the crook of your neck, listening to your heartbeat before putting his head in your lap when you let your feet dangle over the edge of the stone you sat on. When you two went out for a dive before, he'd swim up beneath you, lifting you back to the surface and letting you rest on his chest as you two floated through the water, his arms embracing you so you wouldn't slip off. And the night you spent camping out... it had been unforgettable. You couldn't forget the fervent kisses pecked all over your body, burned forever in your mind. The way he held you as he made love to you like no one ever would. His hands enveloped you, explored, and his tongue followed, making you feel as if his desire for you swallowed you whole, pushing you to unknown heights before he pulled you into the cool waters with him, his body warmed for once by yours as he held you, floated with you until you fell asleep in the warm summer night.
It was like the ocean itself loved you, and you trusted him.
A bit too much, even.
You had no way of knowing his intentions. Of understanding what was truly going on behind his violet eyes. Did he even understand you at all? You had been pouring your heart out to him for days, spilling all your secrets, desires, and fears. This week passed you by in the blink of an eye as you spent way more time out here with him than with your family at home. Even if he didn't understand a word you'd been saying, you already knew you'd miss him and the ways he could comfort you without so much of knowing what was going on.
"I'll leave tomorrow," you muttered softly, his closed eyes shooting open at the sound of your voice. His gaze was monopolizing, drawing you in, unable to look away. These violet eyes would haunt you in your dreams and nightmares, that much you knew. Living with him was impossible. Living without him just as much.
Letting out a small chirp, you put on a smile for him, knowing that latest when you wouldn't return here, to the hidden ledge you found, he'd come to understand. You had to be strong for both of you. Show him that it was okay. That you'd be okay. If he cared for you, it would help him let you go. Your life wasn't all bad, but it were times like these when you dreaded having taken a job so far away from home. One where you'd earn money to support yourself and your family but be lonely all the same with no friends or lovers or strange creatures that embodied more of both of them than anyone had ever before to keep you company.
But he was smarter than that. He could see right through you and read your emotions like a book. You wondered briefly how he learned to be so perceptive of humans. Still, when he pushed himself out of the water, his face just inches from you, you closed your eyes, banishing all these thoughts in favor of his kiss. It was crazy to think how scared you had been of his sharp teeth when his lips were so soft and plush, gently pressing against yours before allowing his tongue to dip out. He tested the waters, nudging your lips as he asked for entrance quietly, and you let him in for a taste that left you breathless.
You wondered what you tasted like for him because all that flooded your senses was sweet and alluring, his saliva not one bit salty or fishy as one might expect. When he allowed you to take a deep breath, your whole body relaxed, his arms supporting you as he laid you down on the stone, his lips wandering from yours down your throat, tongue lapping at your skin around your shoulder, kisses being planted on your collarbones.
Was it wrong to indulge? You wondered, tensing up briefly before feeling his hands slip beneath your shirt. They were still cold to the touch, but soon, as he pushed them higher to your breasts, they warmed up. After the night you shared, you knew you didn't need to wear clothes. Nudity was not something he cared for unless you two were getting frisky, and he welcomed it then. Still, he let out an approving chortle, the sound vibrating from his mouth against your skin as he found you bare beneath your shirt, not bothering to wear a swimsuit as if you had anticipated this. Maybe you had. Hoped, at least, so there would be one more memory of him to take back with you.
His touch was gentle. Kind. But the friction of his different skin texture and the webs between his fingers made you arch your back just as much. You could already feel the sticky wetness between your legs that had emerged right after the intense kiss, clearly discernable from the water that dripped from his body. The scales on his tail rubbed deliciously against your inner thighs and pussy, and you wrapped your legs around him, seducing him to move even more.
You helped him get you out of your shirt, his sharp teeth coming dangerously close to your nips as he breathed against them. These thrills of dangers seemed to only arouse you more, your nipples hard against his prodding fingers, the claws on the tips of his hands pressing moan-enticingly against your tits, dragging over your skin with careful, deliberate confidence that he wouldn't break it.
Leaving a trail of kisses down your body, you were nearly about to climax just from that. But stubborn as you were, you didn't want it to end yet. You wanted this moment to go on forever and ever, if possible, so you drew out your own pleasure even though you were gasping and trembling. Slipping below, you felt your merman's hands grip the pitiful shorts you wore, pulling them down with him. You didn't care if he discarded them or put them to the side in that moment; the shame of having to go home butt-naked was something that didn't cross your mind.
All you could think of was his hands on your legs, spreading them wide open to fit his head and body as he plunged forward. There were a few tender kisses to be left on your inner thighs, the thrill of his teeth grazing over your skin before he directed his attention towards the main attractions. You couldn't help but sink your hands into his soft, slick hair as he pushed his whole face against your cunt, your legs wrapping around his head as you felt the deep inhale he took, making his back rise and fall. He did it three times, reveling in your smell as if you were a body of water he wanted to drown in. Then, his tongue couldn't hold back.
Had you not been so busy with your own pleasure exploding all over his eager muscle, you would have been able to watch the mesmerizing show of jittery fins erecting and splashing in the water. Gills that opened to the fullest as your taste spread in his mouth, his eyelids that fluttered in awe. All you did perceive was the guttural groan vibrating against your cunt, shaking all throughout you from the tip of his tongue slipped inside. It was the one thing that reminded you of his otherworldliness, his voice making your body quiver as you became a puddle in his hands.
You came undone with no time to warn, only a gasp and moan, fingernails scratching over his scalp while he held your legs tightly closed around him, the sounds of slurping and satisfied chortles coming from your core. Every sound he made was like a punch to your pleasure, squeezing every last bit of it out of hiding again, even after you came. His tongue was a winding, desperate, but eager pleaser, surprising you every time again that it sunk in with just how far it could reach and how much wider it spread you the deeper it got. The tingle of its tip as it lapped at all the sensitive spots you liked having caressed so much was nothing compared to the fullness of your entrance, blocking any fluids from leaking past him.
When you got close again, you managed to lift your upper body, looking down at your strange lover. His gaze rose to meet yours, lips parting to reveal your soaking cunt in between his smile. You knew if you let him, he'd live down there, drunk on your juices. Even so, he slipped his hands higher, gripping you by the waist to support your lower back as he plunged his thick tongue as deep as possible into you, sending you over the edge with no warning.
Though it felt like falling, you knew he held you. He ensured no harm would come to you until your shaking and moans subsided, and he helped you lie back down.
"I'll miss you," you whispered, drunk on pleasure, as he came to hover over you. Kissing him felt so right, especially after the incredible orgasms you just had. Your merman reciprocated eagerly with no hesitation, the sounds of your lips even drowning out the crashing of waves around you. "I don't want to leave. I want to stay with you here forever."
"Then don't," he suddenly said, and your body tensed, hearing his voice for the first time. Or not. You weren't sure if you even heard it. You barely saw his lips move, the sound echoing in your brain. Alerts went off in your body as you found your mind unable to focus on anything else but the words spoken, even your breathing stopping briefly while you could not think.
"No... No, I can't... I have to go back. I have to..."
"You don't have to if you don't want to. You can stay here with me. We can always be together. Forever."
Rolling to your side, your body convulsed as his voice penetrated your brain. Every inch of you prickled like it was stung by little needles, but your head was off the worst. Pushing the voice aside was nearly impossible, its echo even stronger than when he spoke to you initially. Even with your hands clasped over your ears, you couldn't make it stop repeating itself, over and over.
You were human. You knew you could never live like him. People were counting on you, responsibilities waiting. You were neither spontaneous nor crazy enough to just throw it away and live out there, surviving... how? You two could never live in the same environment together. It was a bad idea. A baaad idea--
"I know a place where we can be together. I will bring you there. I will decorate it, feed you, and be with you. You'll never lack anything, be it protection or pleasure. It'll be home. We will be family. I will watch over you as your belly swells with my seed, and you will play with our children. You'll never be sad again. Never worry. I promise. It'll be what you always wanted. You told me you wanted to find peace. You shall have it. I make you happy. I love you. You love me. You won't leave me. Never."
Every word felt like another needle being shoved into your brain. It was excruciatingly painful. All you wanted was for him to stop, but at the same time... The longer he forced you to listen, the more you enjoyed the feeling. The shivers it sent down your spine and the pain that made you forget all reason. You didn't even notice how your body grew limb, drool dripping from your lips while tears ran down your cheeks.
All thoughts circled around what he said, and strangely enough, it began to sound very convincing. He did make you happy. You did love him... somehow. You'd never leave him. Why would you? Where would you go other than to be by his side? You wanted to go to this place he spoke of. Have him feed you and decorate your home for you. You wanted to bear his children, be a family with him. Love him. Be loved by him. Have him lick your cunt every night and make you forget. Forget... what? Everything. Everything unless it was him.
"Let's go," he purred, picking you up from the stone ledge and resting you against his chest. "Let's go home."
"Yes," you blubbered, your head falling back as he licked the fluids off your face, your mouth wide open and awaiting his tongue to slip inside, which he did even before the wet around you two could touch you. Keeping your tongue down, he placed his over yours as the ocean enveloped you, his gills flaring wide, air flowing into your mouth to breathe. You two sank further and further, too far for you to see or hear. But his skin against yours remained warm, his embrace tight, his kiss supporting you below the ocean's surface. And as the powerful strokes of his tail carried you two far, far away from the life you had known, from everything that was important to you, all you tasted was the sweetness of his kiss. All while more words echoed in your head, his voice repeating them over and over while his eyes stayed fixed on you, the violet swirls hypnotizing you.
I love you. Mine. Forever. Mate. All mine. I love you so much.

Turmoil at Sea [Yan!Merman x Fem!Reader]
Tumblr media
Warnings/tags: Yandere themes, description of violence, I saw a video of orcas hunting and wanted to write something abt it, disturbing content.
+
"Marlin."
With a shaky voice, you called out to the merman lurking beneath the dark depths of the water. Your eyes danced wildly along the watery surface, desperately seeking a glimpse of him.
"Please come out. You're scaring me."
On hands and knees, you clung to the meager wooden surface that barely qualified as a makeshift raft, the sole lifeline between you and the vast expanse of the ocean. The survival itself was a stroke of fortune, remnants of a shipwreck etching haunting memories – cannon balls piercing through ship walls, the frantic cries of the crew in a desperate quest for safety.
"Marlin!"
You attempt once more, your voice rising in volume and gaining a sharper edge. Splashes of water collide with the raft, showering your bare ankles. The once elegant gown, worn for your birthday celebration, now serves as your sole source of warmth. Your left thigh is wrapped in makeshift bandages fashioned from scattered scarves found amidst the vast sea. Slowly edging toward the raft's edge, you strained to peer through the dense water veil, only to be met with an impenetrable darkness that revealed nothing but a faint reflection of yourself. With eyes reddened, pallid skin, and hair beginning to knot after enduring two weeks adrift at sea, your physical state mirrored the harshness of your oceanic ordeal. The scent that clung to you was a noxious blend of fish and seaweed, the very sustenance provided by the merman. Surprisingly, you marveled at your resilience, having somehow endured the consumption of raw, uncooked meat without succumbing to its potentially fatal consequences.
Abruptly, a hand emerged from beneath the water, prompting you to swiftly retreat to the safety of the raft's center. The owner of the hand revealed himself to be none other than the merman, Merlin, whose expression conveyed clear disdain. His hand extended, torso flat against the raft's surface, and intense ocean eyes locked onto you.
"..M..Marlin."
He remains unresponsive to the sound of your name, his long blue tails faintly visible as they linger within the water. After a moment of uninterrupted gaze, he finally speaks, his voice flowing like a smooth seam of silk, captivating in its beauty. The sunlight above did little to forsake his beauty; instead, it gracefully highlighted his features, casting an enchanting aura that rendered him majestic, akin to a water nymph.
"Do you truly despise me that much?"
"What..?"
A bitter laugh escapes him as he withdraws his hand, crossing his elbow to rest his chin against his forearm. His dark hair cascades down, lightly sticking to his chin, a subtle dampness lingering. One can't help but marvel at how a being like him manages to thrive in the frigid waters, contemplating the preservation of his skin and hair—unchanged and undamaged, a testament to their enduring beauty.
"You've proven yourself quite clever, manipulating me into scavenging for food. Quite the strategist, aren't you?"
"I do not understand.."
Your brows furrow slightly at his words, perplexed by the notion that you might be using him to scavenge for food. After all, it was he who volunteered to assist you, the one who rescued you from the wreckage and gently placed your body onto the raft. During the night of the celebration, you discerned his presence beneath the water, catching a fleeting glimpse of his exquisite tail. Despite your observation, your crewmates dismissed him as a mere swordfish or dolphin, oblivious to the captivating mystery that lingered beneath the waves.
"You're exploiting me for your survival, only to abandon me once other humans come to your rescue, aren't you?"
"Certainly not! Once I set foot on solid ground, I am determined to find every possible way to express my gratitude for your kindness."
He scoffed at your words, finding your naivety simultaneously endearing and tinged with folly. Your captivating gaze drew him in, becoming the sole reason Marlin chose to rescue you amidst the entire ordeal. Although not inherently fond of humans, he found solace in the radiant brightness and warmth emanating from your eyes—a quality seldom witnessed through the eyes of pirates or the sailors he had encountered along his journey.
"Do you genuinely think fellow humans would permit such a scenario? If anything, they'll likely exploit that pretext as justification to pursue and hunt me down."
You dismiss his words with a subtle shake of your head, lips forming a tight line as you attempt to speak over him, any method to reason with him.
""Don't worry. I'll reassure them that you pose no threat. I can even persuade my father to consider implementing legislation concerning the pursuit of seamen!"
"My dearest human, it's not as straightforward as it may seem. Even if your father possessed the authority to enforce such a rule, do you believe those who exploit my kind for gain would genuinely adhere to it?"
"B..but it truly is!"
"It is not."
""Marlin, if you assist me in finding my way home, I am prepared to fulfill any wish or desire you may have forsaken. I give you my word—I am willing to do anything."
Marlin fixed his gaze upon you, his laughter crackling as if your words were nothing more than a comedic jest. Your face flushed with embarrassment, the dignity befitting a lady tarnished and mocked amidst the vastness of the ocean. After a few moments, Marlin succeeded in stifling his laughter, pressing his head onto the wooden surface of the raft. He pushed himself up, grinning at you once more.
"Given your persistent stance and reluctance to reconsider, it appears you are determined to return to your modest homeland."
He inhales deeply, then eases himself off the raft, submerging more than half of his body in the sea. His head emerges as the sole visible part, and his long, dark hair ripples in the water, reminiscent of the seaweed depicted in the textbooks you frequently borrowed from the library.
"Well. You leave me with no other choice."
He gracefully plunges back into the water, his form seamlessly vanishing into the azure depths. Your fist tightens as you attempt to fathom his intent, but before clarity settles, he emerges near you. His tail propels a considerable amount of water, conjuring a substantial wave that gracefully cascades onto the raft, drenching everything. A surprised yelp escapes you as the water meets your palm, and you swiftly realize you're gradually sliding toward the edge.
You successfully maintain composure for most of the ordeal, believing his juvenile outburst had concluded. However, your apprehensions materialize as you witness him rapidly approaching, his tail propelling him through the water with increased speed. The waves generated this time are more substantial, causing the raft to sway significantly. As the waves hit and water infiltrates beneath the raft, your last semblance of remaining afloat teeters.
It's over.
A second scream escapes your throat as the waves crash around you. The raft, teetering slowly, slips from your grasp, and you plummet into the cold embrace of the ocean. The frigid water engulfs your senses as you struggle to stay afloat, the taste of salt seeping into your mouth and nose, inducing a stinging sensation. Despite the pain, your eyes stay open, but water bubbles cloud your vision, leaving you disoriented in the underwater turmoil.
"[First Name]."
Even as the water filled your ears, a cold hand firmly gripped your torso, preventing you from descending deeper into the ocean's depths. Through your hazed vision, a pair of bright blue eyes and a mop of dark hair came into view, confirming that it was Marlin who held you.
"..N...No..!"
Your attempts to speak result in nothing but muffled cries, your struggle to wriggle free and rise toward the air and sunlight impeded by his unrelenting grip. Your body yielded to an inexplicable force, surrendering to his control like an underwater puppet. In a fleeting instant, a sensation of cold and softness grazed your lips. Uncertain in your disoriented state, you couldn't be sure if it was Marlin's lips pressing against yours, but the moment lingered in a haze of confusion.
As time slipped away, the diminishing air began to weigh on you, involuntarily coaxing your mouth open and allowing water to seep into your lungs. Your ears, now entirely filled with water, rendered Marlin's words muffled and distant.
Observing your distress, Marlin placed an additional hand on your stomach. His fingers, accompanied by sharp nails, delicately traced along your bare skin, adding an unsettling dimension to your already harrowing struggle. As the sands of time trickled away, you strained to discern the letters, your grasp on survival slipping through the narrowing hourglass.
The first letter being, "I". You could feel Marlin pulling you deeper into the ocean.
The second letter being, "L". The salt in your lungs were too much to bear.
The third letter being, "O". You can't see a single thing, your vision being nothing but complete darkness.
The fourth letter being "V". Oh God, you're going to die.
Before comprehension could settle, your body succumbed, surrendering to the relentless force of the deep. As your consciousness slipped away, the haunting echo of those unfinished letters lingered in the underwater silence.

Never mind I saw ur things u won't write nvm so can it just be yan!merman reacting to a darling who iceskates?
I'll actually just go ahead and do the first thing you asked. When I said multiple yanderes at once, I meant in the same universe. So as long as they're in different universes, it's fine!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Contains: Maybe a little fluff
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yan!Murderer/Serial Killer would definitely take darling ice skating if they were 'being good'. He can't skate either, he's falling on his ass constantly to the point that it has frostbite. I AM GOING TO THROW THESE SKATES AT SOMEONE'S HEAD I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOOOOOOD-
Yan!Naga who will dig through the closet of his cabin, looking for skates the past residents could've left behind. He takes you to the forest lake in the winter, sitting by a fire and watching you skate, looking at you lovingly. wish i could skate with them...
(Post coming to your house)Yan!Mermaid who has a secret hole in the ice he slips in and out of. He'll swim under the ice, following you as you skate, twirling in the water. i wish he would spin me around in his arms!
SweetYan!Neuvillette who will invite you to skate with him after trials, to take his mind off of it when he really just wants to spend time with you. Who can't skate well, so he has you teach him. He feels guilty for taking you away from skating just to teach him, but it makes him blush how you insist that he learns so he can do it with you. you're so caring... i love you so much...
CrazyYan!Neuvillette who will take you skating every Friday if your 'behavior correction' goes well. he's not good at skating, and he uses that to his advantage. he's leaning on you, arms wrapped all over you under the excuse of being bad at it. i-im sorry I'm so bad at it... mmm your skin's so soft...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope this met your expectations!
i just thought of the most weirdest yan ever.
A goldfish yan
A yan that is literally so aloof, dumb, quiet, wide eyed and says 'huh?' a lot
They still love reader a lot of course theyre just seeing shapes ans colors behind their eyelids for the first time
"Why won't this fish do anything?"
Big crowd today. Noisy - too. They don't like it. Too many flashing lights, and people trying to force food in their mouth when they aren't hungry at all. They don't like it - not at all, but they can't go home. Too big to fit in their old bowl, or even pass the front door. They miss home.
"Ripley!"
A loud voice parts the crowd as a figure pushes through; light returning to the goldfish's dull eyes as the human marches up to their tank and hooks their arms around their scaly neck. In the past their human could pick them up with one arm. Now, they struggling just to get their arms over their broad shoulders. Ripley rests their chin atop your head as one of their webbed hands reaches around you.
"I warned them not to wake you up until I got here. You gonna be a good guppy for me like always?"
The goldfish blinks. "Kay."
Who would've thought that little fish you took in all those years ago would grow up to become three times your size. All the love you gave, and every treats you snuck them likely played a role in their growth. Unable to house them, you made a deal with a local aquarium that would be able to provide them with everything they needed. It tore you both up inside to part, but with your new job you could see them whenever you pleased. It was the only way to get them to eat, or do much of anything besides blankly staring at visitors.
A hand grips your shoulder; brass rings cutting into your skin through your shirt. You wince from the weight behind it as your spun on your heels to face a red-faced visitor. Ripley's attention shifts to them. Their head cocks awkwardly to one side.
"Huh?"
"Finally. I've been waiting all morning for this thing to do something and all its done is stare at me. I'm on a time sensitive schedule here.
You force a smile and their hand from your shoulder. "I'm sorry - Riptide is just a little shy when I'm not around. If you, all of you, can give us about a half hour - I'm sure they'll be ready."
Majority of the crowd disburses at your ask. You look back at Ripley. "I'm going to go get your ball, and change into my wetsuit - then we can play, okay?"
The goldfish blinks again, lips posed in a small smile. "Kay!"
You walk off, leaving the disgruntled guest behind. They stand alone in front of Ripley's unlocked tank.
"Mean to Y/n....."
They look up at the large fish. "Oh, you can talk now?"
"Mean to Y/n...." The fish repeats. "I'll show you a fun trick. Here."
-
As you walk out of the staff lounge, a visitor comes up and taps you on your unbruised shoulder. You turn to face them. "Hello, how can I help you today?"
"I was just wondering. I've seen a few sources online referring to that goldfish you call Ripley as Ripper. May I ask why that is?"
"oh....well, Ripley doesn't take too kindly to people that pick on me. They got that nickname after they nearly drowned another guest because they threw a glass bottle at me, but due to them starting it - it mostly went under the radar. If you'll excuse me, I need to get back over to them."
Walking back to their tank, Ripley swims circles around the perimeter as you climb up and jump in. They let go of whatever was in their hands to scoop you up in both arms - a single brass ring floating to the bottom of the tank.
They knock their large head against yours. "Good guppy... Me."
🏳️‍⚧️🏴‍☠️ Trans Books To Read If You Love "Our Flag Means Death" 🏴‍☠️🏳️‍⚧️
Can't get enough of Our Flag Means Death? Read some trans pirate books!
Tumblr media
On Mar León de la Rosa's sixteenth birthday, el Diablo comes calling. Mar is a transmasculine nonbinary teen pirate hiding a magical ability to manipulate fire and ice. But their magic isn't enough to reverse a wicked bargain made by their father, and now el Diablo has come to collect his payment: the soul of Mar's father and the entire crew of their ship. When Mar is miraculously rescued by the sole remaining pirate crew in the Caribbean, el Diablo returns to give them a choice: give up their soul to save their father by the harvest moon, or never see him again. The task is impossible - Mar refuses to make a bargain, and there's no way their magic is a match for el Diablo. Then Mar finds the most unlikely allies: Bas, an infuriatingly arrogant and handsome pirate - and the captain's son; and Dami, a gender-fluid demonio whose motives are never quite clear. For the first time in their life, Mar may have the courage to use their magic. It could be their only redemption - or it could mean certain death.
(The audiobook for "The Wicked Bargain" is narrated by Vico Ortiz!)
In a world divided by colonialism and threaded with magic, a desperate orphan turned pirate and a rebellious imperial lady find a connection on the high seas. Aboard the pirate ship Dove, Flora the girl takes on the identity of Florian the man to earn the respect and protection of the crew. For Flora, former starving urchin, the brutal life of a pirate is about survival: don’t trust, don’t stick out, and don’t feel. But on this voyage, Flora is drawn to the Lady Evelyn Hasegawa, who is headed to an arranged marriage she dreads. Flora doesn’t expect to be taken under Evelyn’s wing, and Evelyn doesn’t expect to find such a deep bond with the pirate Florian. Neither expects to fall in love. Soon the unlikely pair set in motion a wild escape that will free a captured mermaid (coveted for her blood) and involve the mysterious Pirate Supreme, an opportunistic witch, double agents, and the all-encompassing Sea herself. Deftly entwining swashbuckling action and quiet magic, Maggie Tokuda-Hall’s inventive debut novel conjures a diverse cast of characters seeking mastery over their fates while searching for answers to big questions about identity, power, and love.
Cat spirit (Jin) x mermaid reader
W: some violence and wounds, yandere behavior, sfw monster fluff
Tumblr media
Jin whistled cheerfully as he looked out over the lovely aquamarine sea from the deck of his massive yacht. Racketeering had been kind to him, blessing him with everything in the world he could ever want; money, toys, status, power, respect. Everything except one thing. He’d never found a mate, never been in love, never had tender feelings towards anyone.
He was surrounded by lady cat spirits, all in adoration of his money and power, clawing over each other to catch his eye, but none of them interested him. He’d have his fun with a few of them here and there, then toss them to the wind, bored and disappointed.
He flicked his fluffy black tail behind him as he took a sip of his martini, savoring the bite of the alcohol on his tongue. On days like this, he couldn’t help but feel lonely. On the deck below him the female cat spirits he’d invited lounged on white chairs, soaking in the sun and showing off their lithe bodies. His eyes drifted over them as if he were looking at a display of watches or some other trinket he didn’t need another of.
“Jin,” one named Cora purred as she smoothed her delicate fingers over his shoulder. She had pretty white ears and a fluffy white tail that any cat spirit would usually go crazy over.
“Why don’t we go inside and have a little one on one time,” she said, “you look bored. I bet I can cheer you up.”
He took another sip of his martini before answering and his pointy ears flattened against his head.
“Go back and join the other girls,” he said flatly.
He wasn’t in the mood to mindlessly shove his cock into someone he wasn’t interested in. Cora was pretty, sure, but he knew all these girls simply wanted to be on the arm of the biggest, most powerful gangster in the country…the Black Cat, as he was most commonly known.
It was all for aesthetics. They never asked him about his real interests or his feelings. They never stayed up late with him on sober nights talking under the moon and stars. They didn’t really care. They were happy to trade their bodies for the status and luxury he could bring them. It was all transactional, like everything else in his life. His guards were loyal because he was the richest and could offer them the most. It was the same for everyone else he employed. He didn’t have any real friends. As a gangster getting too close to the wrong person ended with a bullet in the brain.
“Don’t be that way, Jin,” she persisted, putting herself in his eyeline and thrusting her full bosom forward. The bikini she was wearing hung on for dear life.
“You can’t stand up here and sulk all day,” she pouted.
A low growl rumbled in his chest and glared at her.
“I said go away!” he snarled, his patience quickly evaporating, “unless you think you can swim back to shore from here!”
She blanched and hurried out of his orbit. Everyone knew Jin didn’t like to ask twice. If he had to ask a third time…you were no longer breathing.
Jin watched her go with distaste only for her to be replaced by the first mate of the yacht.
“We’re coming up on an island,” he said, “do you want to stop and let the girls play on the beach?”
He nodded. If they were bothering him, then they were getting bored and for his own peace of mind it was best to keep them occupied.
You sat on your favorite rock, on your favorite beach in the area of the ocean you loosely claimed as your territory. Mermaids didn’t own bits of rock like land walkers did, but mostly kept to themselves in whatever area they’d decided to occupy until they found a mate to share it with. The ocean was huge, there was plenty of space and very little competition.
There was a small grotto with a spring that fell over some rocks into the ocean, feeding a tangle of beautiful vines and flowers. You liked to sit there on sunny days and warm your slightly iridescent skin, while combing the tangles out of your hair. The island was perfect, small and so far out to sea no land walkers would bother you.
You sang softly to yourself as you let your pretty purple fin lazily swirl the water below you. There was no reason to think you were in any danger. You certainly had no idea there was a hungry set of bright green eyes focused on you.
Jin had made his way around the island, away from where the cat girls were splashing in the waves, hoping to find some peace and quiet, only to hear soft singing. Curious, he’d followed the noise, crouching in the brush so he could observe where it was coming from. Your voice drenched his senses like the sweetest honey, melting his stress and loneliness away with just a song.
His heart felt full and his eyes prickled with tears as he watched you. You didn’t just sound beautiful, you looked beautiful with purple iridescent skin and a large purple tail bleeding to a wide dark blue fin. Your scales and skin sparkled in the bright sunlight, reflecting a rainbow of colors. You were totally oblivious to his presence as he crept closer, silent on his feet.
His mouth watered as his natural attraction to fish locked onto you.
You didn’t even have time to flinch when he pounced on you, scooping you up in his arms and hauling you screaming back to his yacht. His first mate looked at him in confusion watching Jin clutching you tightly to his chest as you tried desperately to free yourself. You screamed and scratched, but it was no use. The cat spirit was much larger and stronger than you, pinning your arms to your sides easily.
“I caught a fish!” he beamed to his man, proudly carrying you onboard.
Your heart pounded in your chest, sure the cat was planning on fileting you and having you for dinner.
“Be calm, pretty,” he purred at you as he carried you to the master suite of the yacht, after ordering the first mate to inform the captain you were ready to take off.
“Let me go right now!” you howled, but he wasn’t listening.
He flopped you into his rather large bathtub to examine you, avoiding your tail nimbly as you tried to whack him with it. He gingerly reached over you and started the tap, filling the bath with warm water so you wouldn’t dry out. It wasn’t the ocean water you were used to, but it was clean and did the trick.
“What are you going to do to me?” you finally squeaked, once you’d realized there was no escaping the handsome black cat spirit. He gave you a wide smile framed with pointy white canine teeth and his ears perked with interest. His face was beautiful, with a strong, cut jaw and a straight nose. His bright green eyes glinted with satisfaction for his catch.
“I’m taking you home with me, love,” he said, his voice smooth and deep, like a rolling fog, “tell me what you like to eat and I’ll keep your belly full.”
You frowned at him but managed to squeak out that you ate fish, just like he did, only so you could get rid of him. He nodded and grinned at you before disappearing out of the bathroom door. When he was gone you immediately tried to escape, but with no legs you were useless on land and by the time you even scooted your way to the door you only found that it was locked.
Jin returned a few minutes later with a plate of fresh sushi the cook had prepared and frowned down at you.
“There’s no use trying to escape, little one,” he said, setting the plate down on the counter before picking you back up and replacing you in the bath, “I always get what I want.”
You shuddered at the thought.
“What’s your name my sweet little fishie,” he asked, plucking a piece of the raw fish and holding it up to your mouth.
You didn’t want to eat from his fingers, but it seemed you were trapped and it was best to keep your stamina up, so you reluctantly opened your mouth and let him pop the piece in.
“(Y/N),” you muttered after swallowing.
Taking the food from him turned out to be an immediate mistake, because shortly after you swallowed it your vision got hazy and everything faded to black.
—--
You woke up tasting salt water and your eyes popped open, hoping your capture had all been a dream. Looking around you realized you were indeed in ocean water, but not your ocean. You swam around quickly with your strong tail, finding yourself walled in by glass. Someone had built a fake coral reef inside and small, newly developed corals and sea grasses had been planted around it. Peering through the glass you found the tank you were being held captive in was in a large bedroom.
It was very fancy, though as a mermaid, you didn’t have anything to compare it to. You panicked banging on the glass with your small fists, but the glass was very thick and didn’t move an inch under your assault. Looking for another way out you rushed to the surface, finding it opened to a wide catwalk with stairs leading down to the bedroom.
“You’re awake, finally!” the cat spirit purred at you, crouching down to the water to your eye level, “do you like your new home? We can get you whatever you need to make it comfortable.”
“Take me back!” you growled, “I don’t belong in here!”
He chuckled and his tail swished playfully back and forth behind him.
“Yes you do, my little fishie,” he said, grinning and coiling a bit of your hair around a finger, “I caught you and now you’re mine!”
As a last ditch effort to escape, you grabbed his ankle, giving it a firm pull, trying to drag him into the water with you and drown him, but it was all for nothing. His legs were like iron and stood strong against your assault. He just took the opportunity to grab you by your arms and pull you into his.
“Don’t worry, I won't keep you in here all the time,” he said as he carried you down the stairs, “I have baths made for you all around the house so you can be with me and something very special I had built  just for you.”
He walked past one of these “special baths”, just large enough that you could fit inside comfortably and wouldn’t dry out and carried you through a beautiful house, done up in white marble. You felt so small in his large warm arms, his heartbeat pounding in your ears as you huddled fearfully against his chest with excitement. Your heart pounded in response. You’d never been this far on land before, it was very frightening.
He went through a pair of double doors and you blinked as bright sunlight blinded you for a moment. You gasped at what was spread out before you, a large swimming pool filled with salt water from the smell of it. There wasn’t just a pool, but many, many beautiful plants nestled in carefully placed rock formations. A waterfall tumbled into the far side of the pool, reminding you of the grotto he took you from. In the water, colorful, fat fish swam around lazily. The bottom was also planted with sea grass, making a soft floor where you could rest.
“I built this just for you,” he beamed down at you in his arms, “do you like it? I didn’t spare a single expense.”
You didn’t know what to say, his voice held so much hope. The grotto was very beautiful, but it wasn’t your home.
“Please take me back,” you begged, “this is wrong, I don’t belong here.”
He frowned at you.
“If you don’t behave I’ll keep you in the small tank,” he growled and you could tell by his tone he meant it. If you wanted to stretch your fin, you’d have to play by his rules.
“Uh…yes…it’s very nice,” you agreed, trying to find the best in the situation.
“Good,” he beamed, “I want you to get comfortable here. This will be your home from now on. You can stay here during the day when you are not with me. Then you will come back to the small tank at night.”
“Um…okay,” you agreed, since there wasn’t much else for you to do. The entire area was framed by tall walls, you had no idea how close to the ocean you even were. It would be pointless to try and flop away on just your fin.
"This is for another day," he informed you, "today I have some business to attend to and you'll keep me company in my office."
Your face fell even further that you wouldn't be able to disappear under the deep water of the pool right away, but there was nothing to be done about it.
He carried you deeper into the house to a room painted in dark hunter green. The furniture was all dark, heavy wood and honestly it was a bit intimidating with the thick brocade curtains pulled. He didn’t take you to the pool he’d built beside his desk right away, instead sitting you on his lap, his strong fingers drifting over your shoulder as he examined you. His nose grazed your neck as he inhaled your scent, fresh and a bit sweet.
“What a pretty little thing you are,” he said, peering at you with his large, green eyes, the color of sea grass in sunlight, “why don’t you sing for me like you did at the beach?”
You didn’t want to sing for him, but you were at his mercy and angering him seemed like a sure fire way to get turned into sushi, so you started humming a soft tune before breaking out into a song you often sang on dark stormy nights when the ocean churned around you.
His eyes drifted shut and he leaned back, gently stroking your hair as the words rolled from your lips.
“Jin! Oh! Here you are!” a high pitched voice interrupted your singing and Jin grunted, annoyed. You stumbled over your last few words, the rest dying in your throat.
“What do you want, Cora?” he snapped as a female cat spirit appeared in the doorway dressed in a tight blue dress that showed off her hourglass figure.
“What is that?” she answered his question with her own.
Jin glared at her and pulled you a bit closer, as if the cat spirit would steal you away.
“She’s my mate,” he said, surprising both you and Cora.
“What?!” you and she exclaimed at the same time.
A big Cheshire cat smile grew on his face as he looked at you thoughtfully, his eyes traveling over your hair and across your face as he enjoyed the details of your body.
“You’ve got to be joking,” she snorted, daring to come closer, “she’s a fish.”
“I’m a mermaid,” you snapped reflexively, “I eat fish.”
Jin’s eyes locked on yours, amused at your outburst. He had no idea there was a little bit of fire behind your fear and he liked you all the more because of it.
“Whatever,” Cora snarled, “she can’t be your mate, stop teasing me and let’s go to dinner. I’m craving steak tonight.”
Cora had gotten used to a more luxurious position amongst the girls Jin cycled through regularly, being the one he saw most often. She hung around him like a gnat, chasing anyone who got too close away. Jin had no particular attachment to her, but she was extremely pretty and looked nice on his arm. He thought of her like a nice pair of shoes or a watch, an accessory to be thrown away when it was out of fashion.
The smile dissolved from his face and his eyes fell on her so fierce that Cora instinctively took a step back.
“If you dare disrespect my mate again I’ll have you quartered,” he said, so calmly and evenly it was more frightening than if he had yelled it.
He wrapped his large hand around your head and pulled you into his chest.
“She’s mine. You can go, Cora,” he said just as evenly.
“This isn’t fair!” she pouted, “I’ve been with you through everything! I’ve been by your side, comforting you…what about all the nights we spent together?”
He let out a chuckle as cold as ice.
“You’ve enjoyed my body and my money,” he responded, “and now I’m done with you. Find someone else to bother.”
“Bother!?” she gasped, taking two bold steps forward, “why are you acting like this? Have I done something wrong? I’ve always given myself to you, whenever you wanted, now you throw me out like a piece of trash?!”
“You give yourself to whoever buys you the sparkliest gift and makes you the biggest promises,” he snapped, “you were with the Attorney General just last week.”
She blanched, thinking he hadn’t known about that.
“I don’t have to guess what you spoke to him about between the sheets,” he hissed, “you’re lucky I didn’t have you shot. Fortunately for me, I’m smart enough not to share my secrets with a twit. I only spared you because I don’t like killing women if I don’t have to and I thought you might be of some use to me. Nothing more. Now your usefulness has run out, get out of my sight!”
“You’ll regret this!” were her parting words, before she fled the room.
“Don’t mind her,” Jin assured you, his fingers warming your bare shoulders, “you’re my mate and there’s nothing she can say or do to change that.”
It was your turn to blanch.
“But I hardly know you. I don’t even know your name!” you gasped.
He laughed again, but this one was full of warmth.
“Jin,” he said simply, “you can call me Jin.”
He brushed a finger along your jawline.
“From now on, you’re the only woman that can call me by that name,” he said.
“What about this one, darling?” Jin asked, holding up a jeweled bikini top from the pile the vendor had brought for you to try on.
You wrinkled your nose.
“I don’t know…” you murmured.
He pouted at you and his ears flattened, an expression you’d come to recognize over the few days you’d been his captive. You had to admit, his perky, expressive ears were quite cute.
“It will look beautiful on you. I want to drape you in jewels,” he said.
He’d already gifted you a dozen necklaces, including the diamond collar you were wearing. He loved to dress you up, it was an excuse to touch you and look at you more closely. He also guarded you fiercely. No one was allowed near your private pool and when you sat in his lap while he worked, his grip was almost painful on your hip while he glared at his guards if their eyes drifted to you.
His house, which you’d gleaned had been filled with women before you, had been emptied of them. The girls who had his private number were blocked or turned away at the door. He made it clear he didn’t want anyone but you.
His devotion was endless. He whispered sweet nothings in your ear and stroked your cheeks while you sat with him, all the while demanding you sing to him whenever he liked. He liked to lay in bed and watch you swim slowly while he fell asleep. Still, you were sure you were nothing but a toy to him. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you hoped he’d grow bored of you and throw you back where you came from. He had grown bored of all the other women he’d entertained, why not you?
“If you like it,” you said, your shoulders drooping in submission, “I’ll wear it…”
He had no qualms with threatening you to get what he wanted. He hadn’t yet escalated to threatening you with violence, but he often threatened he would keep you in the small pool or the even smaller one by his bed if you didn’t do as he said. He frowned and crossed the room to you.
“Don’t be like that,” he said in a soft voice, “pick what you like. We’ll send the rest back.”
You lifted your chin to him and nodded meekly.
“Maybe one with fewer stones?” you asked and his face brightened.
“You appreciate simplicity,” he crooned, leaning down and pecking you on the cheek, “I like that about you.”
Your cheek tingled under his touch. You’d grown more and more accustomed to his fondling and to your own shame had come to like it more and more. His hands were large and warm, cupping your whole face in one palm. He caressed your skin as if you were the softest, sweetest thing he’d ever touched. As far as Jin was concerned you were. Your heart fluttered a bit as he drifted back to the pile of clothes.
“I told you you’d regret choosing her!” a shrill voice screeched and you both glanced up to find Cora standing in the doorway, a pistol in her hand pointed directly at you.
“I’m not letting this fish take my place,” she snarled and then everything happened all at once.
You heard the gun crack and saw Jin leap in front of you, then before your eyes a red splotch bloomed on his back where the bullet passed through, missing you entirely.
“Jin!” you heard yourself scream somewhere far away as you pushed your body from where you were sitting to crawl to his side.
You weren’t even aware of the guards tackling Cora or her screaming as one of them dispatched her. The second gunshot that ended her life didn’t even register as you pressed your hands down on the wound, willing the blood to stop flowing from his body.
While salty tears poured down your cheeks, he only smiled up at you, extending a firm hand to touch your face.
“W-why?” you gasped, your eyes meeting his, “why would you do that?!”
“I love you…” he murmured, a soft smile on his face, “I will…protect you…”
Your scream echoed in your head like cymbals crashing as his body was pulled away from you. You clawed at him and hopped on your fin, but you couldn’t keep up with the guards carrying him to find a doctor, leaving you alone with Cora’s motionless body.
You collapsed onto the floor, weeping, unsure what else to do.
—-
That night seemed to last forever. Jin’s guards wouldn’t tell you anything, insisting you stay in your pool until they’d decided what to do with you. Finally, as the dawn broke a burly guard called you with a whistle and you let him pick you up and carry you inside the mansion.
Your heart pounded in your chest, unsure what to expect as he carried you back to Jin’s bedroom. The doctor was standing over his bed, his face lined with concern. He glanced up at you when the door slammed shut behind you and the guard.
“I-Is he dead?” you asked, your voice just a whisper.
The doctor gave you a wan smile and shook his head. The tension building in your chest deflated like a limp balloon. He’d lived.
“He’ll be okay in a few days,” he said, “the bullet passed straight through and missed anything vital, but he needs lots of rest. He won't be carrying you around for a while.”
“Put me on the bed,” you ordered the guard, who to your surprise obeyed your command without a word.
“Can you leave us for a while?” you asked. The doctor packed his things quickly and took the guard with him, telling you to call if you needed help.
You looked down at the cat spirit who had taken a bullet for you. He looked so peaceful, his eyes shut and his hands folded over his stomach. His firm chest was wrapped in a white bandage and your fingers danced lightly over the wound. The wound he’d gotten for you.
“I completely don’t understand why you did what you did. I don’t understand how you can come to love someone in only a few days,” you whispered to him, “but thank you and I believe you.”
You slept beside him despite how your skin cracked from drying out, your head tucked into his neck.
Jin woke to the sound of your voice softly singing. This song wasn’t sad like the other ones you liked to sing. Instead it was sweet, almost hopeful…He opened his eyes to find you sitting next to him, stroking his hair.
“You’re awake,” you said, smiling down at him, “how do you feel?”
He sat up slowly, even though it hurt, so he could look down at you.
“Wonderful,” he purred, pleased that you were showering him with attention.
You snorted softly.
“I doubt that,” you said with a little giggle, “you almost died!”
He gave you a half smile.
“You might not believe me, but I’ve had worse,” he said.
“That’s hard to imagine,” you replied, but your eyes landed on the many scars that littered his bare chest.
He cupped your chin with the unwounded hand, tipping your face up to his.
“I’ll do anything to protect you,” he said, “you’re the only one I want. A life without you isn’t worth living. I’d rather die. It was worth it all to have you look at me the way you are looking at me right now.”
“H-how am I looking at you?” you asked.
His smile stretched mischievously across his face.
“Like you want a kiss,” he said.
You laughed lightly, a sweet, tinkling sound to Jin’s ears. He’d take a hundred bullets for that sound.
“I suppose you’ve earned it,” you admitted, pushing yourself up to find his lips and capturing them with yours.
His kiss was like finding your way home after a long swim, safe and comforting. Your mouth moved over his, tasting the mint on his breath, feeling the firm skin, and you sighed into it. He deepened the kiss, curling his arm around your body and pulling you onto his lap with one smooth motion. You tried to pull away. To reprimand him for pushing himself too much  only a day after being shot, but his hand only slid up your back, cupping your head, holding you to him.
He basked in your scent, like a fresh ocean breeze and tangled his fingers in your hair. He didn’t want the kiss to ever end. When he finally pulled away, he pressed his forehead to yours.
“You’re mine, (Y/N),” he said softly, “don’t ever forget that.”
The Orcas' Tale - Chapter I
Excited to finally start! I haven't written in a while so I felt a little rusty, but I still hope I was able to convey the conflicting feelings that come with meeting these creatures ♥ Enjoy! (Please remember that the polls are only active for a day!)
"In fact, you don't want them to think about you at all! Otherwise —ey w—t l— —u ——!"
Straining yourself, you tried to hear what the voice was telling you. A sudden waft of nausea overcame you as you concentrated hard on making out those last, vital words. Your eyes snapped open as pressure squeezed your brain inside your skull, and you barely had time to gasp as your body instinctively threw itself to the side, choking and spitting out water from your lungs and stomach.
Through your blurry vision, you could only see gray. Feeling hadn't returned to your hands to notice the little gravel digging into your palm as you clawed at the stone surface, trying to find hold in your disorientation. Slowly, with every cough you made, the pressure on your head subsided, leaving only a pounding headache and your fight or flight instinct in control of your body while you freed yourself of the wretched water inside the spaces it didn't belong. That was until you finally regained the feeling in your body. The pebbles pressing into your skin, threatening to break it.
The hands on your body, holding you steady.
"This was a stupid idea," an eerily familiar voice sighed, the pressure on your stomach and lower back intensifying. Confused and disorientated, you rocked your head from side to side, trying to see. Trying to find the voice that was different from the one you heard before opening your eyes. But your vision was still blurry, and you couldn't make out anything, even with splashes of color passing your view.
"It's not stupid just because we have never tried it before," someone else, someone you already knew, hissed, and you tried to remember who it was to no avail. A hand on your collarbones, fingers spreading all over your chest, didn't lock your movements but didn't allow you to fall over either, as they kept you slightly elevated.
"W-Who…" you sputtered, followed by another cough, another spill of water coming from who-knows-where inside you.
"Urgh, well, it's alive, at least…"
Pressure on your ribs made you fall back on your legs, sitting upright. You were swaying back and forth, worse than you ever had on the ship that transported you out on the North Pacific Ocean for your studies… Right… You'd been working out on the ocean, and then something happened. You couldn't get back to the boat, and they didn't do a headcount before leaving. You'd been left there. For how long? Gulping down spit or water—not sure what was in your mouth at that point—you tried to remember, but your memory was as blurred as your vision.
Did your crew come back? Were they the ones helping you back to your feet? You should thank them. Had they left you at the mercy of the ocean, who knows if you could have made it long. As much as you loved the deep, blue waters, they were just as risky and unpredictable as any other nature-related job. Accidents happened, and you weren't mad you were left behind, but you were still thankful they came back and saved you.
Slowly, taking the time to adjust yourself, you turned around, the hands allowing you the room to move as you pleased while they stayed ready on standby if you fell. Focusing your eyes was still hard. The space you were in dimly lit and unfamiliar. But when you lifted your head, squinting your eyes as hard as possible, you could finally concentrate on what was ahead of you.
Instantly, a cold shiver ran down your spine.
Your fight or flight mode was still intact as you jumped back from your position, your body slamming into a cold and hard wall of something, your headache briefly making space for other pain before returning full force. You didn't know what to expect, but you expected the familiarity of your kind. Human faces, human bodies, humans.
These were not humans.
It needed the extra blow to your head to jump-start your memories. Memories of the little orange boat you had been stranded on, of unknown voices speaking to you, promising the help you desperately needed. Uncanny figures that intrigued you and eventually lured you to the edge, claws that dug into your clothes as they pulled you where the light couldn't reach. A tongue down your throat that helped you breathe and then… darkness.
That's right, at the cusp between life and death, you had simply passed out, completely at the mercy of these creatures that now reared out of the water, hands and claws reaching for you from all sides. There was no escaping them, no way out, their black skin glistening in the blue light coming from the walls being the only thing discerning them from the shadows around you. All you could do was close your eyes and wish to wake up. Realize this was a bad dream on a dreadful night. Wake up from it, realizing you left the TV on when you fell asleep, subconsciously listening to horror movies. None of this was real.
But when the hands wrapped around your ankles, wrists, and shoulders, claws too close to your throat to not fear them slicing it open, webbed fingers both sticky and slick, you realized this was not a dream you could wake up from. Not a nightmare to banish once you opened your eyes again. This was reality.
It took you a moment to regain this clarity of mind, the hands lifting you away from the hard surface you had slammed into and setting you down on something soft, the fabric almost slippery. They wouldn't let go until you opened your eyes, staring at your left hand as you let it slide through the fur beneath you, knowing the feeling well enough to discern it. "Seal…" you muttered, the softness of it astonishing you at that moment. All the horrors your mind could imagine disappeared with the gentleness and warmth you felt around you, sitting on such precious fur. It soothed some of the shock and weariness that kept you tense and on alert.
"The human likes it," someone cooed, the voice giddy as you heard water splashing alongside it. That finally snapped you back to reality and the situation you were in. Gulping once again, at least there was no more water clogging your throat and airways. Realizing that helped to gain the courage to look up, straight ahead at curious eyes watching you, leaning on the ledge you were seated on, giant bodies hidden halfway inside a pool of water. Every jolt of their muscles caused a small wave to splash against the others next to them, but they didn't mind. Why would they?
Mermaids.
You remembered it now all too clearly—their voices, faces, actions. Knowing folklore tales as much as any other human but always denying them to your scientifically driven mind, it was almost laughable you fell for their lures, their promises of help. It was true your options were limited, but it felt like you betrayed yourself by still believing them. Then again, that was the whole thing about mermaids, wasn't it? They were able to lure in even the most experienced and resistant of humans at their whim, to kill and eat them. However, dwelling on your idiocy and not concentrating on the situation at hand wasn't going to help you now, either.
Watching them for a few seconds, you jumped from their faces one after the other. Orcas, they called themselves, and strangely enough, they looked like it. Like a weird mix of a human and an orca, but you could still see both parts in them and discern either part at a glance. The markings in black and white of an orca, the face and body like a human. Muscles just like a professional athlete, but a tail hidden from sight that you were sure would be exactly like that of an orca. They were decorated in adornments that allowed one to believe they had the same aesthetic needs as humans. Still, their sharp teeth lurked behind their lips, and their fingers ended in claws that reminded you there was just as much animal in this mix.
Looking away was dangerous but necessary, and luckily, as your gaze panned around the room, they only ever seemed to lean further over the edge, trying to see what you saw, before sinking deeper into the cool water again, wary of your gaze falling on them. Either way, you appreciated their discretion, despite hearing their little clicks and whistles at each other echoing through the space. It wasn't a small room, cave-like and branching off into more carved-out areas filled to the brim with things. But if you remembered the size of these creatures right, they'd have to squeeze together if they all wanted to come sit on the same ledge as you. You found the room to be made of hard, solid stone, a blue, bioluminescent shine of a climbing plant with little bulbous blooms on it, illuminating the cave sparsely as it spread on the cave walls. Part of you would have loved to study this growth, but it wasn't the right time.
Beneath you was the seal fur, and you tried to ignore the gruesome acts you knew orcas did to these creatures, thanking it silently for softening the spot you sat on. But now that you had time to look at the splashes of color from before, you noticed they were fabrics hung from the walls. Sails and flags mingled with more furs. Crates, both wood and metal, some more decayed than others, stood off to the side, but you also spotted some out-of-place items like golden goblets and jewels strewn about.
"Where… Where are we?" you asked warily, feeling a sense of dread as you couldn't find a discernable exit or connection to the outside, like a window or door. You had a bad feeling about this, but at this point, it came as no surprise that this situation didn't seem to get better even after you accepted this as reality.
"In our–"
"Home!"
"This is our cave!"
It was a desynchronized answer, but it did the trick. Though that didn't explain where exactly you were, just their connection to this place. Still, scanning the ledge you sat on, you found three sections laid out with fabrics and furs, the stone ground creating gaps between them. Considering the size of these creatures, it might be a squeeze for all of them to fit, but it did look like the three had their beds laid out.
The sound of excessive splashing made your head whip forward, the merman in the middle lifting himself out of the water and on top of the ledge. It was the first good look you got at any of their bodies, and you had been correct with all your assumptions about them. He had to crawl on his hands to get the massive part of his upper tail over the edge, but he didn't seem to mind. In fact, it looked almost like a natural movement as he put himself in a seated position. You were already cowering backwards, not needing to accommodate the creature, but feeling less safe now that it was out of the water.
But before you knew it, his hand reached for your ankle.
The feeling of having to cave in to someone else's demands was terrifying, choking you with fear of the unknown especially considering it was a monster you were dealing with. But even without you trying to scoot away, your leg was painfully stretched as the merman began pulling you back closer toward him. "Are you feeling better now?" he asked. You were surprised about the concern he voiced, thinking about how contradictory it was to be given kind thoughts while you felt like prey in their eyes.
"Yeah…" you mumbled, twisting your ankle carefully, inconspicuously, hoping he might be enticed to let go. Instead, this seemed to have been the magic word, the orca on the right jumping out of the water with much more force and less elegance than the one in the middle, landing belly down on the ledge and immediately reaching for your arm. "Finally!" he rejoiced, squeezing and pulling at your underarm, both actions reckless and painful. Now you had two limbs of yours being yanked, and the gaze you shot the last merman of the three was almost panicked as he sat up on the ledge as well, back facing you, but his eyes on your free left leg. With a careful hand, he let his fingers graze over your skin, jolting away as goosebumps spread in the wake of his touch.
Their hands were a horror in themselves. Webbed fingers sticking to you and yet sliding up and down your skin, unable to find hold unless pressure was applied. These creatures had no sense of gentleness, probably used to very different forms of touches and holding than a soft, easily breakable human like you needed. Their curiosity was their drive, but it made you feel sick the longer their touch remained. Occasionally, they'd coo or chortle in awe while all you could concentrate on was trying to soothe the sore muscles inside you by adjusting and twisting your body to accommodate their hands.
Even though you were intimidated by just looking at them, fear clawing at you almost as much as their hands did, you decided enough was enough. While they were stronger than you, you had the advantage of knowledge. If they were any bit as much orca as they said they were, they probably had the attitude of their animal counterpart, making them believe they were above everything. But they weren't above the element of surprise.
So when you were sure they were mesmerized by your meager body compared to theirs—the third merman even back to prodding at your leg after being startled by the goosebumps—you took a deep breath and then pulled. Pulled as hard and fast as you could, very much aware that if they weren't sufficiently distracted, their reflexes would probably have dismembered you. Luckily, you were able to get away even as their claws snapped after you, your eyes meeting that of the middle merman briefly as you scrambled to your feet, backing away until you found a wall to steady you. Your knees were shaking, but after a few milliseconds, the merman suddenly gripped a shoulder of each of the ones next to him, his claws visibly digging into their bodies. The others snapped out of their reflex just barely after the middle one, looking at him instead.
"No fun," the one on the right groaned, sinking back into the pool of water. "What good is it if we can't play with it?"
His eyes appraised you briefly, a displeased expression weaved onto his face, turning into a snarl when you met his gaze. "I thought you found us interesting, no?"
Lifting his tail fin out of the water, he waved it back and forth, but contrary to what you remembered, no tracker was punched into it; only a gaping hole remained. And yet, you immediately understood what he was trying to say. This was way worse than you thought, as you realized they used their leverage of maybe being able to tell you how to get back to land to make you do what they wanted, no matter what that meant for you.
"Don't you want to go home?" the merman teased, a smug grin revealing the rows of sharp teeth behind his lips and confirming your realization. It was terrifying but even more so frustrating. Swallowing hard, you tried to find some reasons with the other two, but while one had now fully turned his back to you, the other seemed just as displeased as the one in the water.
"Maybe we should just eat them," the one in the middle pouted. Your mouth almost fell open seeing this creature actively avoiding your eyes, crossing his arms, and pursing his lips in a pout. All just because you refused whatever they were trying to do? How could they not understand that their actions might be wrong? You had never seen a grown man pout in your life, but you couldn't decide if it was worse on this creature or on a man of your own kind.
"What do you think, Nerrocan?"
For the first time ever since you met them, you heard one of them being addressed directly. The merman in the middle looked at the one who sat with his back to you, and you took a moment to appraise his form. Broad shoulders, coated with black hairs that reached below the shoulder blades but did nothing to hide the monstrous amount of muscles weaving under his skin. A dorsal fin stuck out from where his human spine must have transitioned to the fish one, and you caught yourself almost reaching out to touch it, confirming the strangeness of this lifeform. It was curiosity more than a reflex, but both were dangerous down here, locked with these strange creatures.
"Nerrocan…" you whispered, the word slipping out before you could stop. Their white ears perked up, glances snapping to you from the corners of their eyes and over their shoulders. They seemed less alert than surprised, but you clasped your hand over your mouth anyway, feeling as if you were the rude one for speaking so casually to someone you didn't know. Slightly embarrassed, you caught Nerrocan's gaze, looking away before he could, but you scolded yourself for the mishap, missing the shine he had in his eyes as you called out to him.
You expected some reaction. Cruelty packed into words by Nerrocan that would give the other two the 'go' to do what they planned with you. Or maybe a verbal lashing for daring to speak to him. Perhaps even some hope as he held the other's back, making the unknown threat you felt from them disappear. From the looks of it, he was just as fearsome as the others but showed less interest in you than his fellow mermen. It was hard to understand how different lifeforms thought, but you had still hoped to be able to communicate with them on the same level as with any other sane human being, even just for the sake of the similarities between you two. But you were wrong.
Nerrocan said nothing. He merely shrugged his shoulders slightly, barely visible in the dark. More than half of his body was coated black, so it was no surprise you couldn't see it move much, only when the blue light shone on it. However, you did catch the glance he threw back over his shoulder at you, and you wondered if he understood the devastation you felt visibly on your face. All hope shattered.
"Nerrocan, you're so fucking boring. Can't you go along with what we want to do just once?" the merman on the right complained, his words a sharp sound, somewhere between hissing and lilting.
"Shut up, Lyr," the one in the middle ordered, and for a moment, you could see the merman named Lyr snap his teeth at him like a beast warning another. However, when the middle one lifted his hand—presumably to hit the one on the right— Lyr scooted away and out of reach. Before you knew it, Nerrocan vanished in the water, and you watched as Lyr scanned the pool below him before hissing and slipping out of sight. You had a feeling that something must have been going on that you couldn't see, but you knew better as to go and look where they had gone.
Especially with one still remaining.
The merman took a deep breath, breathing out before giving you a—what you could assume was meant as a mood-lifting but came out as a terrifying, mocking—smile. "Look, we don't want to eat you. But we hoped you were a bit more… fun."
"I don't even know what that is supposed to mean…" you mumbled, pressing yourself more to the wall as the merman sighed, scooting a bit higher on the ledge and closer to you.
"Look around you," he directed your attention, gesturing around the cave. "We brought you into our home and made sure you'd survive the dive. Don't you think you owe us something?"
"I didn't ask you–"
"Well, you would have died up there, you know that, right?" His interruption felt like a cold splash of water to your face, but his words hit you even harder. They sat in your stomach like a big stone. One that would sink you if you were left alone in the ocean rather than help you swim. Being demotivated was one thing. But at this point, you were pretty much helpless. You would have died without them but with them… there was no guarantee you would survive these guys, either.
"Look."
Raising his hands, the merman tried to ease your fear of him—in vain. With a small hopping motion, he elevated himself further towards you, and you, with no place to back up anymore, held your breath.
"We know humans. You guys are curious and want to know more about us. All of you are. You are always prodding in our territories, trying to find us, and when you do… well. You do this."
Lifting his tail fin out of the water, he waved it back and forth, curling it enough so you could see the red blinking light coming from it. The tracker. You definitely didn't just imagine its existence, and slowly, you let out the breath you were holding, looking him in the eyes. This was more of a conversation than you ever had with any of these guys, and you decided to face it.
"Humans aren't even that tasty," he noted, assuming your weariness was rooted there. He wasn't entirely wrong.
"Then what do you want from me."
His grin spread a bit wider at your questions, his eyes sparkling with the knowledge he got you, like a fish drawn to a hook. Inching closer, you barely had time to shift your attention to the two heads that popped out of the water behind him, exchanging glances before directing their focus on you. "You see, we saw humans before. Cute ones—like you! But none would let us explore them a bit. We are oh-so curious about those things you stand on. About your tiny parts and soft body. You're so…"
"Human," you finished his sentence, goosebumps spreading all over your body as you exposed yourself, unwillingly aware of your weakness being your very existence. The merman scanned you with his eyes, almost undressing you with how intensely his gaze burned on your skin. It was an unnerving feeling, one of mutual understanding of how different you were. Weak. Vulnerable. Powerless. Them even communicating their plans was their form of showing mercy. Because if they wanted, they could have easily forced you into it as well.
"Yes," he chortled, seemingly content with you understanding their desire. You couldn't imagine that this was all they'd ask of you, a memory of the voice you heard before waking up in this cave returning to you.
It hasn't been that long since another tribe—who was it? The sharks?—had been… blessed with an unusual mate.
You wanted to suppress the implications echoing in these words, hoping and wishing this wasn't what these orcas intended to do with you. You couldn't fear something that hadn't happened yet, or else you might lose the last bit of rationality in you that would get you out of this situation, no matter how much anxiety tried to paint the gruesome pictures of possibilities. But you needed to know. Needed to hear it from them, even if the promise was empty. If you wanted to build any kind of trust, this would be necessary, even if the betrayal would hurt twice as much.
"If I agree will you take me back? Back to this place you know, where I can return to my kind? Promise you won't kill me?"
Nerrocan was the first to return to the ledge after disappearing so abruptly. You hadn't noticed it at first, but when he looked at you, his gaze shifting to your legs for a few seconds before looking back up at you, you noticed the split lip he now had, blood trickling from it as the blue light grazed him. "Promise," he answered for the three of them, gaining a sharp glare from the other two. Lyr, too, came back up on the ledge, merely resting his upper body on the stone and propping himself up with his arm.
"Aren't you gonna say something when he's undermining you, Krill?" he asked the merman in the middle, and now, finally, you had names for all three of their faces.
"He won't do it again. Right, Nerrocan?"
The spoken to let out a huff, but when Krill took a deep breath, Nerrocan opened his mouth, submitting as told, "Of course, Krill."
"Well, now that this is out of the way, shall we begin?" Krill asked, his gaze sticking to Nerrocan for just a moment longer before returning to you. Putting on a calculated smile for you—as if he was trying to imitate human behavior—all you felt was another shiver running down your spine. You braced yourself, getting a grip on your shaking hands by curling them into fists. The faster this was over, the quicker you'd find out if they'd keep their promise. The faster you'd be able to get home and sort out this mess your life was in.
"Okay…" you whispered. Once again, your word seemed to be the one they had waited for, all of them leaping forward, closing in as you let out a surprised squeak. "Stop!" you yelled, shielding your face with your arms and trying to hide behind them out of fear of the approaching predators. To your surprise, the sound of splashing water and bodies moving ceased. When you pried your eyes open, the mermen had stilled, their muscles barely flinching under the intense tension running through them. Their expression was grim, worse than before, seemingly unimpressed with your reluctance after you gave them the go. It seemed their patience was running thin, but what else were you supposed to do?
"Not all at once… please?" you tried to explain yourself, their bodies remaining still for a moment. Lyr was the first to break the silence, groaning loudly in annoyance as he slipped back. Nerrocan said nothing, merely pulling his hands back to his side. He had come the closest to you—especially your legs—and even Krill put some distance between you two, sighing loudly before driving his hands through his short hair.
"Choose then," he ordered, and there was no hint of teasing or playfulness left in his voice. His eyes remained wide open, staring as he waited for your answer, his body so tense you were scared he might pop a vein. Krill seemed to be the least amused about all of this, but the dirty looks of the other two were just as chilling and pressuring. "Choose who you want to "play" with first, then."
It was an amicable choice that seemed challenging for the three, but they made it your choice nonetheless. Your eyes dragged over all their faces. Nerrocan, the quiet one of them, who seemed very interested in your legs and not much else. Lyr, who was already back to grinning, his casualness paired with the intensity of his gaze drilling into you, making him seem a little unhinged. And Krill, whose word seemed to stand above the others, but whose words could never make him trustworthy to you.
You had to choose one before their patience with you would finally run out.
