Miray was born and raised in Manhattan by Murat and Leyla Aslan. Her father, Murat, was a head surgeon at the top hospital in New York, and her mother, Leyla, was the CEO and founder of a prominent fashion house. Throughout her childhood, Miray was given everything she could possibly want and more, living a life of comfort and luxury. She and her younger sister, Mina, were doted on in every way.

Tragedy struck when Miray was in her early teens and involved in a car crash. Although she survived with injuries, her parents did not. Miray tried to revive them at the scene for what felt like hours but it was no use, they were gone. For the first time in her life, something had not gone Miray's way, and instead of feeling sadness or anger, she felt lost.

It took her until she was seventeen to decide what she wanted in life, and she quickly realized that staying in Manhattan wasn't it. She moved to Brooklyn, where she found herself drawn into the Crimsons. Miray's charm, confidence, and ruthlessness quickly sent her up the ranks until she took over as the leader of the gang.

In Brooklyn, with her gang behind her, Miray slowly started to feel invincible once again. However, her world was shattered when she walked into her childhood home in Manhattan to see her sister hanging in the middle of the living room having taken her own life.

Following Mina's death, Miray's life became a blur of violence, danger, and survival. Most people never managed to get close to her again. Her success within the gang and seemingly unshakable confidence masked an undercurrent of a predatory need for control. Once a girl who believed in goodness and happy endings, she had become cold, calculating, and unrelenting. All of this, of course, was hidden beneath a cheeky wink and a flirtatious attitude.

At some point, Miray had a child, a complete accident that she found out about too late to do anything about. She didn't want the baby, too busy being a leader to even think about raising a child and so she gave baby Mina to a distant family member to raise. She still sees the child regularly but everyone believes Miray is her auntie and not her mother.

A couple of years ago Miray got married to a Senator and they were madly in love. Their relationship was wild and fast they married after only six months of dating (because when you know you know). Tragedy stuck only two months later when Miray's husband was tragically assassinated, a crime the police and Miray and still investigating.

I couldn't save her. I still remember that tender smile she gave me to fake her happiness. But she put up with everything for me... she didn't want me to lose my hope. I can't stop feeling the sadness that came over me when I lost her. Now the only thing in my memories is that painful goodbye.

Third Person (pov)

Inside the Capsule Corporation hideout were two people talking in a tone filled with concern. The lilac haired boy didn't want to appear nosy so he decided to announce his presence. With a wide smile on his face the boy began to speak.

Trunks: Hi mom, hi Y/N! -his mother and girlfriend turn nervously when they hear his voice-

Bulma: You're finally back, Trunks, we were so worried about you! -the older woman quickly runs to hug her son-

Y/N: how long was he standing there... Well he didn't notice anything different so he couldn't have heard our conversation. -she sighs thinking to herself then looks at her boyfriend feeling some melancholy-

Trunks: Y/N, did it make you so shocked that I come back alive?! -he smiles slightly noticing his beloved and her expression raising an eyebrow-

Y/N: Trunks, of course you didn't come back in the time you promised! -she runs towards him like her mother-in-law with tears beginning to flow from her (eye color) colored orbs-

Trunks: calm down sweetie -he strokes Y/N's hair, feeling the girl's face settle on his chest- there were some mishaps. Luckily it didn't get any worse and I was able to return safety. Those damned androids keep doing whatever they want in cities with a lot of inhabitants. -states saying angrily-

Y/N: -she froze when imagining the androids that end innocent lives- Trunks...-holds onto him sighing- well the important thing is you were able to come back...

Feeling his girlfriend's arms surround his body, the boy instantly relaxed. It didn't matter for now what he had to live to return home. Since he could remember, the cold and dark present always produced such a deep fear in him. But now with Y/N ​​by his side everything was different. The hopes he was protecting now are higher thanks to her. Trunks' mother smiled feeling a slight pain in her chest. If only moments like this didn't vanish like when the sun touches ice.

The couple was looking at the ceiling while they were both lying on Trunks' bed. After they had eaten, Bulma gave Y/N permission to enter her son's bedroom. The girl was laughing next to Trunks.

Y/N: I can't believe my mother-in-law still thinks we'd do "grown up stuff". -the girl laughs embarrassed with a blush on her cheeks-

Trunks: hahaha you already know my mother even though we are seventeen years old. She keeps thinking that because we are teenagers we wouldn't stand the temptation. -the boy kisses the girl's forehead smiling- but you know it's a bit tentative to think about our future. Just imagine the family we would have. -he breaths relaxing a bit-

Y/N: -smiles slightly- although the androids are still alive, I feel like after your mother finishes the time machine. Our future will be beautiful...

Y/N: You're such a big liar! You should tell him the truth.. Trunks has already suffered too much to continue lying to his face. -she watches the lilac-haired boy close his eyes thinking to herself- but I can't... I want to be selfish and be able to enjoy his warm expressions. -she sheds tears caressing her cheeks delicately- if only the necessary resources existed to be able to get out alive...

The girl didn't want a painful goodbye. She didn't want to make her loved ones suffer. Despite being in an apocalyptic place, that was not enough for her bad luck. After all her body decided to play with their happiness. Finding a tumor in her heart and without sufficient resources to be able to save her. Bulma was killing herself every day in order to build the time machine that would help them save her as well as humanity. Y/N couldn't give up hope after all that was the last thing that went missing.

Time Leap*

Bulma: the medicines are running out Y/N... -she pats her daughter-in-law starting to cry- the fuel for the time machine isn't full yet... -the girl looks at the corner of the room-

Y/N: the only thing I know...is that I can't keep hiding it from Trunks... -the girl hugs her mother-in-law- my symptoms are getting worse over time. At times I can stand the urge to cough in front of him. And my physical condition is worrying him. Trunks doesn't stop looking for food for me... He has to know the truth..

Bulma: I know it will be a complete torment to hear the news. But you're right, we shouldn't lie anymore... -she separates slightly as the girl gets off the table where she was for the medical check-ups-

Walking out of the room, Y/N starts debating nervously. Would there be no salvation for the girl? Arriving in the living room, she manages to witness Trunks lying on the sofa. He had recently returned again from a nearby town, he did not do very well trying to rescue people from there. News after bad news was really frustrating to have to diminish Trunks' hopes that were collapsing. She didn't hesitate so much and leaned on top of him like a little girl. She let out a slight squeal when she felt Trunks' arms around her body.

Y/N: ah, Trunks I wanted to surprise you! It's not fair...-she puffs her cheeks feeling her heart beating rapidly which at the same time hurt. Y/N thinking that she didn't want it to stop.-

Trunks: Well, you'll have to do more than climb on top of me like you're a cat. -laughs out loud but notices Y/N's expressions of pain- hey honey, is something wrong? -Upon hearing that question, the girl (hair color) hid her face in the hybrid saiyan's neck-

Y/N: hey Trunks... I have to tell you something. -she whispers in his ear, beginning to cling to him- I can't keep hiding it from you..

Trunks: what's up? -Sky blue eyes observe how the (eye color) orbs began to moisten. He didn't receive any answer, which worried him too much- hey...-he felt his neck get a little wet while his girlfriend got up from him-

Y/N:...I have something to tell you...and it's too difficult. -starts to cry shaking a little-

Trunks: calm down Y/N -places his hand on her cheek caressing and wiping her tears- I'm here...nothing bad will happen. Now tell me what is worrying you. I have noticed you've been to different. He kisses her nose trying to provoke a mischievous laugh from her. Not hearing her his heart sank a little.-

Y/N:..I...sh*t if only...if only... -she holds her head lightly in despair- if only I could keep hiding it. But it's not fair to you Trunks! I have hidden something from you for a long time. I...-pauses noticing her confused lover-..I only have a few months to live... -she looks down waiting for a reaction from Trunks-

But nothing happened, the Saiyan hybrid just couldn't believe the tremendous news. Was it some sick game on the part of his girlfriend? If he had hopes...it was all a sick game. But no...the tears and crying coming from Y/N. They were real...how could he not notice the pain she was suffering?!

Trunks: no, there should be a way to save you! My mother is a very smart person! -covers his face with his hand trying to hide the fresh tears- What sickness do you have?...-he waits for a response from Y/N and the girl swallows thickly, holding onto him bursting into tears again-

Y/N: I have...a tumor in my heart...-she takes a deep breath feeling the boy's body clinging to her-

Trunks: this...this will be resolved..I can't lose you too Y/N...I refuse to lose you like Gohan. I refuse damn it! -the girl gets attached to him caressing his back-

Y/N: ..you give me the hope that I was losing, your my treasure... My light in the dark... -whispers in his ear- with you by my side I feel safe...

Trunks: Don't worry, everything will be fine. We'll find a way. -smiles giving her a short kiss starting to play with her hair-

There are times when nothing goes the way you want. There are times when life tramples you so much that nothing can be the same. There was no time left for the (hair color)ed girl. Right now she was on the bed of the mini hospital that Bulma had in Capsule Corporation. Trunks held her delicate hand listening to her moans of pain. He felt so helpless not being able to do anything.

Y/N: hey Trunks...-she starts coughing looking at him. He had big dark circles under his eyes and you can tell he hadn't eaten anything. Without a doubt, her boyfriend was suffering as well.- I need... I need you to rest. I know it's difficult but... But it's time for you to rest..

Trunks: I can't Y/N...I'm afraid that when I close my eyes... you'll disappear... -he caresses his hand trying not to cry- please don't leave me... I won't be able to bear it.

Y/N: you have to keep your hopes up...the time machine. Bulma says that if you go to the past the tools to be able to do the surgery and treatments will be there. -holds her chest feeling a great pulse stopping her words-

Trunks: do you remember when we met? -He passes Y/N her medication, changing the subject a little. Starting to tremble a little he notices how the girl held her chest- you heh, you wanted to fight against the androids despite not having saiyan blood... You are brave and strong... I know you can handle this. You have me by your side always

Y/N: Trunks...you saved me...and I know you'll do it again. -Y/N smiles weakly at him, covering her mouth- Trunks, please go to sleep... You shouldn't neglect yourself because of me, I'm also worried about you... -she pouts- go on sweetheart, just a little.

Trunks: I can't say no to you. You are a cheater, you know that when you make that face I can't deny you nothing. -he gets up slightly, lying down next to her bed- I'll just take a little nap...

Y/N: It's hard to know that there's little time left for me... But I don't want you to lose your hopes. That's the least I want... -she sighs, coughing into a piece of paper, looking that it had slight blood marks- I would have liked... That we still had those dragon balls. I know they don't revive people who die of natural causes but...I would have liked. That Master Gohan was still alive. -closes her eyes trying to sleep-

A few hours passed and Bulma manages to watch her sleeping son next to her daughter-in-law's body begin to convulse. The blue-haired woman acts fast, fearing the worst. Trunks upon hearing his mother's screams stands up suddenly.

Bulma: no, no not yet please hold on! -she puts the oxygen mask sobbing- don't leave us little girl, don't do it!

Trunks: please you said to keep hope! How will I do it if I lose another person I love!? -The minutes seemed like an eternity. But finally his girlfriend stopped convulsing while still breathing-

Bulma: Trunks... we have to stay by her side... I'm afraid it could happen again. -the boy only nods feeling great sadness-

If only the time machine fuel would be easy to obtain. The girl's life would be saved. But now all that remains is to watch his beloved suffer. He wanted to increase his ki and shout an almighty cry. And drive away the pain of the three but could not. The girl started to wake up calling Trunks with little babbles.

Y/N: Trunks... I love you... -begins to cough- no matter what happens... Don't lose hope... I know since you were born... -slightly removes the oxygen mask and Trunks stops her-

Trunks: no please honey I don't want to! .. -screams inconsolably starting to cry waking up Bulma- I don't want a painful goodbye! Stay by my side... I need you... -he approaches her placing his forehead in front of hers- don't leave me... Don't leave us... -he breathes trying not to raise his ki- I love you...

Y/N: I know... that since you were born... A great burden took over... you. But Trunks...-she pauses, opening her eyes slightly- don't lose hope...-the girl places her hand on top of her chest, squeezing her shirt- you can't despite everything that's happening. You can't... please don't lose them. You're the light in this darkness...-laughs to herself, taking a breath- when you become...super Saiyan... You're the same as a light that turns on instantly...-watches Trunks while he didn't stop crying- ..don't let the only light go out..

Trunks: but...but you are also my light... -approaches her while she takes off her oxygen mask-..please resist... -approaches her kissing her gently- don't leave me...-the girl caresses his cheeks-

Y/N:...I won't leave completely... I will continue in your memories and heart... Until we can see each other again... For now I ask you to be happy... That you fight for what is right. ..-smiles slightly beginning to close her eyes-..I love you Trunks..

Trunks: no, it's not enough stop! Please -the girl's hand falls to the bed quickly. And her breath completely vanishes. Bulma quickly hugs him starting to cry next to him. Remembering the beautiful moments they lived thanks to her-

When Trunks finally managed to go to the past. The only thing he could remember about her is her painful goodbye. But also her words. Because the future and past would be saved thanks to him. The only thing that hurt was that Y/N couldn't witness it.

Wednesday prompt - Really enjoyed magic-sensitive Alec being shy about Magnus's wards but how about magic-sensitive Alec who is incapable of resisting Magnus's magic or seeing him as a threat after growing up under the wards Magnus made and unconsciously his magic as a guarantee of safety.

i hope you enjoy where i took this prompt! i had quite a lot of fun considering how it would go!

Alec knows that he carries the weight of the Institute’s wards. They slipped to him when he was fifteen, greedy for energy and nestling into his chest with a ferocity that has always shocked him. 

The clave and his parents would love to blame it on magic, but they can’t when the angelic core itself flares the moment they try to deny Alec the claim he’s been given.

So, Alec finds his life changes quickly.

Talk of becoming parabatai with Jace stops, because Alec doesn’t have the room to share his soul, not when the Institute and her wards have already claimed so deep a place in him. It makes things hard and Jace and Izzy are both upset, especially when they find out they can no longer sneak out because Alec has asked the magic to keep them in.

When the wards accepted him, chose him, and the angelic core agreed, Alec didn’t expect to feel what he did. His parents never seemed to notice or mention or mind the weight they carried, but Alec finds himself adjusting to it slowly. There’s a presence when he wakes up, a lingering sense of being watched as the wards attune themselves to him. Alec steps into a hallway and the light adjusts for him, the wards beckoning him around corners when it thinks he needs to hear secrets Alec has no business knowing.

It’s how he finds out about his parents, the degree of their betrayal and Alec is seventeen when he confronts them. He stands firm and straight because the wards are literally pressing against his spine, keeping him on track and in control, protecting him.

And then Alec is alone, just himself and the wards and the core and people he can’t trust and who don’t trust him.

He struggles till twenty and then Mirai shows up, brilliant and attentive and even the magic doesn’t mind her, allowing her closer in a way than it has anyone for years now. It makes Alec warm to her, accepting her into the chain of command immediately and grateful that she was sent to be his second over any other options.

Jace still claims — when he can be bothered to write letters — that he’s training to be Alec’s second, but Alec doesn’t see how that could ever work. It would require Jace to respect and listen to him.

So, Alec settles into the new routine and doesn’t think much of it, until Mirai mentions the wards being updated and the magic around him snaps, excited and delighted and so robust that Alec sees sparks even when he closes his eyes.

“Okay,” Alec says and it’s more to the magic than to Mirai, “let’s call in the High Warlock of Brooklyn, then.”

Magnus gets to the Institute, dressed to depress and traumatize every single shadowhunter he sees. His outfit is gorgeous and a taunt, filled with bits of metal and demon pearls and made of abyssal silk that still rustles with the haunting flap of wings.

It’s been over a decade since his services were required and while he would have preferred it to be longer still, he will admit he’s curious about the change in leadership. Very little actual information has leaked its way past the Institute walls and Magnus is hungry to learn what has changed.

It only grows when he portals in and, instead of the neglected weight of his ward arrays, they sing and chime and welcome him with covetous, greedy little whispers that only he can hear.

Something of Magnus’ is here, they tell him. Something they claimed for him, are taking care of and protecting and hoarding for him. It’s with vague amusement that Magnus follows the shadowhunter escorting hm, noticing that he’d been led the same direction his magic is encouraging him to follow.

Magnus is escorted to an office and when he enters, his escort getting out of his way and closing the door behind him, it’s to a young, gorgeous shadowhunter staring up at him in shock.

There are piles and piles of papers, but what Magnus notices first is the mark of his magic, the claim of it pulsing in time to his shadowhunter’s heartbeat.

“Well, aren’t you a delight.” Magnus murmurs, pleased when his words earn him a flush and Magnus feels his magic locking the door into place behind them, ensuring they won’t be interrupted. “You’ve been waiting for me, haven’t you sweetheart?”

His shadowhunter nods, looking too surprised and overwhelmed and Magnus wonders just how deep a claim the magic stole, how much he’s feeling just at being in Magnus’ actual presence, rather than the echo and imprint of Magnus’ magic.

The Pretty Cure Temple

The white palace is very important to this story as it now holds Sapphire, who is crystallized. However, there is more to it as I mentioned in the last paragraph. The palace is actually the holding place for the three powerful items. Let's start with how it all began.

When the three powerful items were created, Vanessa created a white palace in the middle of a lake with two bridges on the edge of the Empire. The floating island with Sapphire gems growing on it is in the background. At that time, the place was isolated from the Empire. But when the first Cures were activated and the items given away, Vanessa decided to turn it into a place to honor past Cures as well as hold some of their powerful items. Thus, the Pretty Cure Temple was born, which is called the Pretty Cure Palace by the Cures.

In the present day, the Pretty Cure Temple works in a very special way. In order for someone outside of the Crystal Empire to get to the Pretty Cure Temple, they must go through a special door. This door is located either in a world where magic was used to make a Cure team or on Mobius in a place where magic gathers the most. For example, the Botanical Garden for Heartcatch or the Pikari Shrine for Happiness Charge. The doors on Mobius move around the planet but like to make themselves known to someone close to the Cures. For instance, Kaoruko Hanasaki/Cure Flower and Blue, though that door hasn't moved since it appeared there after Cure Mirage's awakening. The door is designed specifically for the team that it represents, but all of them have a keyhole in the middle of it. This keyhole can only be unlocked when an item (a Heart Card for the Max Heart team, the Dream Collet for the Yes team, a Heart Seed for the Heartcatch team, a Cure Decor for the Smile team, a Cure Lovead for the Doki Doki team, a PreCard for the Happiness Charge team, a Dress Up Key for the Princess team, all the Linkle Stone for the Mahou Tsukai team, all the Crystal Animals for the KiraKira team, a Mirai Crystal for the HUGtto team, a Star Color Pen for the Star☆Twinkle team, a Element Bottle for the Healin' Good team, and a Heart Kuru Ring for the Tropical-Rouge team) or the magic of one of their Cure Fairies (powers of Flappy, Choppy, Moop, and Foop for the Splash Star team, Chiffon’s power for the Fresh team, the Fairy Tones’, minus Crescendo, for the Suite team, Mofurun’s power for the Mahou Tsukai team, Hugtan’s power for the HUGtto team, Latte or Queen Teatinu’s power for the Healin' Good team, and the powers of Kome-Kome, Pam-Pam, and Mem-Mem for the Delicious Party team) is placed in it. Once unlocked, the door leads to a room with water as the floor and glowing balls with the Cure's colors floating around the room. There are three stepping stones in the water leading from the door to a large platform where a large blue chair-like device sits. They must insert the item or magic into the device again before they are teleported to the beginning of the first bridge leading to the temple. Vanessa has made some of the keys special, such as the Dress Up Key or the PreCard, while others are items used by the Cure teams, like the Crystal Animals or the Linkle Stones, some teams have more than one way to get there.

Although it appears small on the outside, the temple has seventeen rooms in the present day. Originally, it only had three rooms, each dedicated to a different magical item. Each room is now decorated after the theme of its Cure team, holding statues, tapestries, and pictures of the Cures and their Cure Fairies, along with descriptions of each on their respective statues.

When the required item or power is placed in the chair-like device, the interior of the temple changes. The hallway leading to the room is designed like the door from the beginning, and there are also statues of a Cure and Fairy, based on those of the respective Cure team. While naturally, the hallway will lead to the room with the statues and tapestries, the Heartcatch room is different, it leads to a large open space with stained glass windows of different flowers with a door at the end that needs a special key. This room is where Cure Ange oversees the tradition of the present Cure fighting the past Cure for the Heartcatch Mirage.

While the rooms can only be changed when a key is placed in the chair-like device, Vanessa's family can use their magic to change the rooms. Vanessa's sisters can teleport directly to the outside, when they do the temple senses their magic and turns to the room with the respective Cure team that used their magic.

Once Sapphire's training is complete, she becomes the Priestess of the Pretty Cure Temple. She is responsible for designing each room and hallway, making the items to unlock the rooms, and creating the statues, tapestries, pictures, and descriptions for each Cure and Fairy from then to the present day. Sapphire continues these duties even when trapped in the crystal. When Sapphire discovered the Chaos, Vanessa created one last room for her daughter's Cure team, where they trained and resided. If a Cure defeats their Negative Boss, their Cure items may disappear or deactivate. If they disappear, they go to Vanessa's workshop, and she gives them to Sapphire, who takes them to the temple (An example of this is the Yes Cure items, however when the second generation items went to the Cure through the butterflies Vanessa just swapped out the first generation items with them and gave them to Sapphire). If they deactivate, such as the Princess Pretty Cure team's items, they remain with the world they were given to. Magic, such as the magic that made Mofurun come alive, is put into a statue in the room of the Cures it was given to.

When Diabolos took over the Crystal Empire and his generals took control of the Temple, the temple was stuck in Sapphire's Cure room, unable to change to the other rooms holding powerful items and magic that they could use but couldn't access. When the temple was turned into the Pretty Cure Temple, Vanessa realized she couldn't leave it out in the open because it held such powerful magic. So, she assigned a family of hummingbirds as guardians to protect it from evil. More information about them can be found in the Heartcatch Pretty Cure section.

22 in ‘22 Project

Pattern is Down The River To The Ocean by Nailya Plaskey, a paid pattern available on Ravelry. Yarn is Noro Mirai color 15.

This is one of the yarns that oopsed into my bag when I stopped by Webs; I’ve never worked with Noro before but have had it talked up in a big way by a lot of folks. Being discounted to barely over ten bucks per skein, I figured I’d give it a whirl and see how I liked it.

So far I’m enjoying the way it moves in my hands as I work it. The stitches are clearly defined and I’m not accidentally backhooking the fiber at all when I pull through. The fabric so far feels…sturdy. It makes nice drape, albeit not necessarily with flow.

More to come as I work the pattern through. Meanwhile, enjoy my chubby hobbit toes.
