Oh yeah, now that I'm done with the NPC's, I can share some cool little things: Notably, the fact that I drew all of them in a single document!

Here it is with every single layer turned on! Good gravy! I've been drawing in this same document since February.

Let's look at some of the cool stuff hidden inside!

This was the first attempt at designing the witch doctor! That's right, this was the second NPC I tried to make. The only reason this didn't actually end up being the Mod eater Witch doctor was because I was too lazy to color him and didn't want to post him until I did. This design was scrapped in favor of Jamundi, because the Party girl and merchant ate all the conman cake and the witch doctor as I originally envisioned him became redundant. Also this art is cool, but the design didn't have that Mod Eater remix to it yet.

Much later, I did these sketches, which became Jamundi. the stupid 'Jesse Skinkman' pun really helped me figure out a good direction for the character.

This was the first drawing of the party girl, that I almost immediately abandoned. Up until this point she had been remixed into a fastidious type-A organizer... but it fell flat in the art for me, and I completely pivoted her to be what we have now.

The wizard and Pirate were also attempted very early, but fell flat. The wizard was goofy, but not the right sort of goofy for me, and the pirate was hot, but beyond that the clothier had ended up with all of the 'hot older guy with skeleton curse' juice, so the pirate required much more remixing.

Also the weird little doodles in the corner there bely some of the more disconnected doodles in this document.

weird little hollow-knight-ish things, some vix jokes... and a pair of drawings, one of Brooding-ninja-highschool-parkour-scout, and one of edgy mario. both of these sketches are fresh as fuck honestly.

The vix on the far right though is not fresh. She is in fact so poorly drawn that she is angry I have failed to draw her that badly.

Fandom laws - Fandom's been around a long time, and I think a big part of having a great experience in it is mutual respect, which ppl have codified in fandom laws. When/if you break them, you may turn other ppl off and that can spread quickly; you build your reputation by your actions.

digging up an oldie from the archive - when I need to throw an older post on the dash to share again, maybe there's a reason, or a great addition.

hello dinner - Various amusement about vampires and their dinner.

messy eater - Related to the above, it's less common (canonically) for a Ricean vampire to spill a drop of blood, so it used to be more dramatic when we'd see art/fic of spillage! There are vampires from outside VC in that tag, too, I couldn't resist reblogging them.

vampiredevelopment/interviews and rec - this is some of my favorite textmeme content 😂

memeything - y'know, memes, some are embedded in more serious posts, but I think when I first heard the word "meme" I didn't think mine really counted? So I made it "memeything" so as not to land in a "meme" tag if they didn't count, but eventually I decided that "meme" can be pretty widely defined, so mine kinda do, but by that point I was far into the habit of using my own word, so there it is.

how to make a post a vc post - when you just gotta insert your fandom into an unrelated post bc it FITS.

Louis has canon hair I know that will make at least 2 ppl I know very happy - and idk if I would even reveal privately who they are but definitely not publicly! vc news/vc casting - For sharing news and post casting ideas, as there are multiple adaptations and there's always fantasy casting! It never ends.

not vc/vc adjacent - I see some ppl have adopted these two! I made these out of a kind of purist approach, I wanted to reblog smtg and share it but it wasn't exactly VC, soooo, it's my acknowledgment accordingly.

VC - I may have used this in the past but I don't anymore, bc there are tons of things that could have that abbreviation, I assume, so I don't find it too be descriptive enough for use as a Vampire Chronicles tag 🤷🏼‍♀️

‘Cause when Evan was pissed, he punished Barty since Barty usually was the one who pissed him off, and when Barty got punished, he forgot what set everything off in the first place. Got to focus on the pain he was choosing to accept from Evan instead of the pain that anger couldn’t always cover, pain he couldn’t shake in every other miserable segment of his life. They started spreading spores, and Hot Guy, feeling betrayed about his friend giving in so easily after the previous events with Cute Guy going MIA and Poppy being possessed as well, ends up starting a fight. It ends poorly with Mother Spore experiencing a minecraft-esque death essentially. The full reblog chain for that is here. TWs for violence and death.)

(Aurum had waked in right at the end of the fight when Mother Spore fell and Hot Guy fled. Their POV of that specifically is here. He goes after Hot Guy to fight him, ends up screaming at him and punching him and blaming him, which Hot Guy takes until Aurum tells him to take accountability. Hot Guy screams back about his guilt before trying to threaten Aurum and eventually fainting. Currently Aurum has dragged Hot Guy off into the forest. Full reblog chain here. Mod Eater update

Mod Eater episode 1 is currently in production!

I really should have numbered them differently, because calling the first episode 'episode 0' made sense at the time, but now if I say I'm making 'episode 1' it sounds like I don't have anything done yet.

Episode 1 is taking a while, due to various factors, but we here at... whatever the production team is actually named are working on some really cool shit.

Like, I'm blown away every time Spooky calls me down to look at the stuff he's working on right now for video's final scene, and there are pieces of this video that I've done that I still can't really believe I actually made. I can't wait for everyone to see this stuff.

I've also decided: I think it's been long enough from episode 0 that I've lot a bit of the element of surprise, so I think it's time to reveal what Episode 1 will actually be reviewing!

Episode 1 of Mod Eater is going to focus on the Varia Mod! A small mod I found while trawling through the terraria mod wiki some time ago. It had some interesting ideas that drew me in, and after playing it and writing a review (and the first chapter of the Mod Eater story!), I'm excited to talk about it.

I think working with the Varia mod will really help demonstrate what I want Mod Eater to be, both in terms of establishing how I want my reviews to treat the art I'm inspecting, and in how I want the Mod Eater story to interact with the cool stuff people create for their mods.

I'm very excited, and definitely not stressed by the fact that I intentionally picked an outmoded and dead mod... and then had the creator announce they were reviving the mod the literal day I finalized my script. (Please don't look up when that was because if you find out I had this stupid thing finalized in July I'll die of shame.)

Fest mods will match you with a giftee. We'll tell you all you need to know about what your giftee likes and doesn't like in fanfiction and/or fan art.

You'll create a work for your giftee and submit it to the fest collection. The fest collection will open on AO3 when sign-ups go live.

Wait for reveals! Your job is to keep your gift secret. When it's time for gift reveals, you, your giftee, and other fest participants will see what's been created for you all.

Do not create a work featuring your giftee's dislikes/triggers, and try to stick with ships/characters your giftee suggests.

FAQs

Help! I love angst but I can't go too dark. Be clear about this when you sign up, so the person gifting you a work can work within your likes and dislikes. This fest is for people that love angst or dark works. The only content we can't accept is tooth-rotting fluff. How dark does my work have to be? All themes must be angsty, grey, or dark. The level of darkness will be dependent on your giftee's dislikes and your own comfort level. Not all works need to be Dead Dove here; in fact, most probably won't be. When you sign up, be sure to tell us what you like to write and what you absolutely will not write. This will help us match you with someone appropriate.

What if I can't finish my gift work in time? If you cannot finish your gift work in time, you will need to inform fest moderators via Discord or email as soon as you know you won't be able to finish. Please do NOT wait until the last 48 hours to tell us. To ensure everyone gets a gift, we will have pinch-hitters trying to fulfill outstanding gifts, but they need time to create.

Can I create multiple works? If you would like to create multiple works, sign up for pinch-hitting. You may be able to save the day for someone who wouldn't be receiving a gift.

How to Request?

Just send me an ask on this blog detailing what you what like! It's that simple. Include as little or as much info as you would like. The more specific you are, the more likely you are to get exactly what you want. But vague requests aren't necessarily a problem. And anon asks ARE turned on, so don't feel shy!

What Info Should I Include In My Request?

The following are extra pieces info you could include in your request to make it easier on me:

What size to make a wallpaper. This can be exact measurements or if you have an image that is the right size than feel to send that to me as well. (I'm not sure if you can send media through requests, but if not then feel free to dm this blog. If you want to remain anonymous on the request then i won't share your blog)

If the character you are requesting has multiple outfits, specify which ones you do/don't want. If you don't specify, i'll usually just use a mix.

What icon/edit i've done in the past do you want me to base it on? This isn't required, but if you want a guarantee that it will turn out a certain way then feel free to give the link to a specific thing i've done in the past. If nothing is specified i'll do what i usually do: whatever i want. Which i like to think usually doesn't turn out bad but it does mean you get a certain level of unpredictability when it comes to the little details.

What pride flag to use if there are multiple version.(ex. The sunset aroace flag vs both the aro and ace flags)

What Happens If I Don't Like How My Request Turns Out?

Simply let me know! Send another ask politely letting me know what I did wrong and i'll fix it!

When Do Requests Close?

Requests will close whenever i am busy/overwhelmed with my life. I will also probably close requests once i reach a certain amount so that i can catch up before getting new ones. Remember that i am a real person and have others things to do than just run this blog.

How Long Will My Request Take?

Depends on how interested i am in it. I will try to get to every request when i can, and the amount of requests i currently have affects that. If it is something I find very fun to work on it will probably get done faster. ;3 Of course after I finish the request It will be thrown in the queue. I sometimes have a backlog of posts but i try to queue requests to pop up within a couple days of me finishing them.

Can I Request More Than Once?

Yep! There is no limit whatsoever on how many requests you can submit. So go wild :)

Do I Have To Credit You?

You never have to directly credit me if you use something i've made, but rebloging it IS appreciated! It's how my work gets spread around to other people. But if you do want to credit me in your bio or whatever because you're using one of my icons i will always appreciate it :) THE EXCEPTION IS MY ICONS/EDITS USING ANOTHER PERSON'S ARTWORK! It is imperative that if another artist has been gracious enough to let me use their work that you properly credit them if using something i've made with it!!! Just a simple "credits to: link to artist" in your bio or pinned post should be enough!

Why the Zone is not canon: a long post

Official sources As much as we wouldn't like to admit that the thoughts of the community are not canon, they are not. I would define canon as "what is indicated or mentioned by Nintendo, in the game, or anywhere else." For example, Harvey x Harriet is most likely canon; CJ and Flick are 50/50, since for all our hopes, "partners" can still mean business partners; the idea is clear. And what exactly could be "canon" there If we're talking about "Ankha and the speaker had sex": In Animal Crossing in general relationships of villagers between each other or someone else are not predetermined. The closest thing I can remember is Felicity liking Tortimer (e-reader card), Chevre and Nan (having a photo of each other) and the rabbit sisters (having a photo of each other). Residents on the island may have positive/negative interactions with each other and speaker, but they depend on their personality, version of the game and randomness. Nothing suggests that Ankha likes speaker more than other villagers do (especially in older games lol). If we're talking about "Ankha theoretically could have sex": this is closer to "how ethical is it to depict eroticism with anthropomorphic animals, especially from a game for kids", and answer to this question depends on the perception and depravity of the respondent. tldr: 1 - nope, 2 - depends on your viewpoint

This whole situation seems to have made her a more likable character for a while, although judging by animalcrossingportal she has always been in the top of the most popular villagers Group chats with older players (under 30 years old) are generally very strict - to the point that some people actively condemn tt and mods (why are you worried about how other people play, it doesn't affect you in any way :/). It seems that they said "ugh, disgusting" back in 2021 and did not respond in any way. However, the increased popularity of the character has led to more players wanting to settle her on their island tldr: To be honest, it seems to me that people have mostly stopped taking this meme seriously or actively talking about it. Of course, not completely, but you can't just erase something from the memory, especially of a large number of people

I agree everything except this the meme still hasn’t ended and it still pisses me off and I don’t think it made her any more popular I think it almost destroyed what made everyone like her in the first place I don’t want everyone to forget the porn meme but I just want the meme to end it’s been three years yet anytime we search ankha almost anywhere it’s nothing but porn or porn memes it doesn’t help when sick people in TikTok and Twitter and especially YouTube gos around praising the joke like it’s the funniest thing in the world and all this happened just because one pork eater on Twitter or YouTube

Another gorgeous day in the PNW! It really does feel like summer here now. Daughter has no Covid symptoms as of yet but is still positive. Her boyfriend is sick but only mildly. He's had it before and said last time he was out for 2 weeks and it was horrible. Fingers remained cross.

I've recced this fic before on Tumblr, but it was awhile ago and I think I might have had 20 or so followers at the time. :) So I keep saying this fic is in my top 3 and I should stop that because it's actually my favorite h/d fic. I love so many others, but this one has stuck with me since it was first posted as a gift for me back in 2008 for the first annual Creatures Fest. It could've fit right into the @lcdrarry (Lights, Camera, Drarry) fest as some of Harry's words and the title were adapted from the movie I Am Legend (2007).

We Are Legend (38K) by @vaysh11 is very far removed from standard h/d fics but holds their essence like no other. It's a dystopian AU fic, the ultimate dystopian fic, 80 years into the future. The war against Voldemort is still being fought. There's been major major losses but Flash Man carries on. Here's the summary and then I'll say a bit more: Eighty years into the future, Voldemort won. Harry Potter is a renegade wizard, Portkeying Muggles out of London to Hogwarts, last sanctuary in a Britain ruled by the Dark Lord. On a mission he encounters a powerful phoenix Animagus fighting on the Death Eaters' side. He recognises Draco Malfoy whom he thought long dead. But the differences between them are perhaps even greater than before. Enemies may become lovers, but can Harry return Draco the phoenix to humanity? And will they together be able to defeat Voldemort? This is the legend of Flash Man and the Blue Phoenix …

This fic carries a big warning of MCD. But please, oh please do not let that stop you from reading this masterpiece in writing. There's action, there's lore, there's Indian food, and birds. But most of all we have h/d in small place high above it all. Harry is our Harry. Brave and powerful but also kind. Draco is beautiful but so so hurt in the state he's in. Together they have to figure out how to end this war and for Draco finally to be at peace.

Why did you choose the askblog format for your story?

Mod Kit: Mostly because it was something I was familiar with! I used to run some ask blogs on deviantART (mostly Hetalia, but I dabbled in Soul Eater, Pokémon, and Bleach) before I got burnt out entirely for years. This format allows for me to not only take questions about the world I've built, but also has the opportunity for multi-blog ✨~character interactions~✨ and rp, which I love more than anything!
