My first and only statement on all the accusations

Hello, I’m sure most of you are aware of the accusations about me and some of the stories I posted on my account. This post is not only an apology post, but an accountability post that details everything that happened from beginning to end. Everything will be here, so I will not be making more posts about this unless it’s to direct to this one.

Adding a tw now for suicide baiting, death threats and mentions of razors. So sorry but it must be included.

First I just wanted to say, no I wasn’t avoiding any of this. When this all started I was still in the middle of finals week, and I don’t live on tumblr 24/7. I had to focus on my finals to ensure I can get my degree and graduate. That was my number one priority. If anyone was blocked or comments were restricted during that time, it was my mostly my irl friend ensuring I wasn’t consumed by tumblr and could focus on my finals. I was already under a lot of stress and she offered to take over until I was finished with finals.

I was also getting death threats (people telling me to skin myself I alive and to jump). So she was ensuring that when I returned to my own blog, I would not see such triggering content. I have a history with suicide attempts and this was necessary for my mental health. The appropriate people were unblocked and remain unblocked to this day.

I always intended to make a statement, I just prioritized my real life first. It also took time to craft the post you are seeing now. I wanted it to be authentic, no misinformation, and well written.

So, as far as plagiarism goes, yes I did plagiarize specifically 3 of zombiekillerbiceps stories. I can’t actually remember the names of them and the author has removed their account from the site. But on my end specifically “Getting Closer”, “Edge of Control” and “Thrills” were not my own writing. Before they deleted their account I had already reached out via dm and apologized. We came to an understanding. I do not know why they deleted their account but they essentially said in DMs they accepted my apology and wanted to put this behind us but they were very hurt that I had copied them.

Edit: I found the post they made calling me out and will attach it.

As far as His Watchful Eye goes, the only plagiarism that took place was specifically the first chapter of it and only the first chapter. The first chapter of Something Permanent and His Watchful Eye are very similar. The remaining 13 chapters are my own writing and ideas. I have already reached out to @explorevenus and apologized. She has responded and made her own statement regarding it if you want to go and read it.

The only reason it was in anon is because this account (dollgxtz) is my side blog. I couldn’t figure out how to send a non anonymous message without exposing my main blog, so anon was the best thing. I didn’t want people sending death threats too that one too. I should’ve put my username in the anon, but it was already very late for me and I hadn’t slept in about 26 hours. I just wasn’t thinking very clearly and for that Venus I am also very sorry.

@manika-whims (the person that first wrote about all this) will remain blocked and some of her followers because I do suspect it was that group of people telling me to die. Manika wrote a very long post as she was upset that I “mischaracterized” Xavier in His Watchful Eye, called me a bitch and a loser because of a fictional man in a fictional story, and I will not entertain such immaturity. Full stop.

One of the anons that sent the suicide bait also called me a bitch and a waste of space. It was just too similar.

I also got this one. It’s too graphic to show the entirety of it.

I apologize for the plagiarism. But I will never apologize for writing characters the way I do or for writing dark content. It’s just not that serious. After she posted that I started getting these death threats and more.

You had every right to call me out for plagiarism Manika, but I stand my decision to keep you blocked. It had nothing to do with plagiarism accusations or me hiding from them, but I do believe you egged on your audience to come attack me over a fictional story and for that reason you will never be unblocked. I’ve attached screenshots below of the entire exchange. This is not to deflect from my own actions. This is simply to explain why she is blocked. She will say it’s because I was trying to hide from this but that is not true. I am just very sure the death threats came from her or her audience. This isn’t to say that she absolutely did but just in case, for my own mental health and safety I had to have them blocked.

Now that that’s discussed, I would like to address my readers and any future readers of mine. The plagiarized stories “Getting Closer” “Thrills” and “Edge of Control”. have been deleted and will remain deleted. Those of you asking for copies, please do not. They are not my writing nor my own works. Any remaining single work story on my blog is my own work and 100 percent my own ideas. My masterlist has been updated to reflect this as well.

When I first made my blog and posted those stories, I was a very insecure writer. I did not think I was truly capable of writing or making a good story. I did those things out of insecurity and not feeling good enough. But as time went on, I began to create my own stories and realize that I can write if I put my mind to it. These are not excuses, only explanations. Nothing excuses my behavior.

If you want to defend me, that is your own choice. I ask that you do not though in terms of plagiarism because I ultimately did plagiarize and that is 100 percent wrong of me to do. But in terms of AI usage accusations, these are not true. I have never and never will use AI to write.

I have spent countless hours writing chapters for His Watchful Eye, pulled all nighters, and even lost sleep making this story. I have timestamps in google docs that show me editing and writing my own story. I didn’t even know AI had advanced to the point that you can write fully blown novels. But make no mistake, Ai checkers are not reliable. I had an incident in my first year of college where a paper I wrote got flagged for 77 percent ai generated content. That paper was written 100 percent by me over countless hours and still got flagged. It was a very scary time in my life and for that reason alone I will never use AI.

If you want to unfollow me, please do so. If you want to block me, please do so. I would never hold that against anyone and am not mad at anyone for doing so. Just don’t come in my anon box telling me to jump, don’t message me rude or disgusting messages telling me to die. I am a human, I am a real person behind the screen. What I did was wrong but you are no better telling someone to kill themselves. Please just block me.

I am no longer the insecure writer that I once was, I now know my abilities and am confident enough to make my own stories. I have a 240,000 word fic out right now, I genuinely am still shocked I have done that. Writing has become a joy for me and I will not stop now. I should’ve never been afraid to make mistakes or be bad at it. I’m sorry to the people I hurt, my readers, and anyone reading this in the future. I am still growing and learning from my mistakes, and this has been the biggest lesson I will never forget.

Plagiarism is wrong and hurts authors. If you are reading this and have done so as well, please rethink your decisions and take them down, just as I have done.

I love interacting with you all, when you send me asks and messages about HWE or any of my original single fics. It is amazing getting to explain stuff or gush with you guys over the things that I have truly written. I truly love being an author and want my future as one to be honest and communicative.

Edit: The first chapter of His Watchful Eye had been rewritten shortly after this statement was released. It now reflects my own writing. That was the only chapter that had ever been plagiarized. All other chapters reflect my own writing and ideas, now including chapter one.

Just putting this here to clear up accusations in the reblogs. I never claimed that either author was okay with me plagiarizing off them…I simply apologized and linked to Venus’s original statement. I stated Zombie accepted my apology, but was never okay with the plagiarism. Venus never accepted my apology, and that’s okay. I even told her I understood and that I didn’t expect her to. I’ve never expected anyone to be okay with what I did. I did everything I could to remedy the situation and that was it.

I apologized, deleted the stories, made a statement and reworked what I needed to. Everyone’s feelings on this are still 100 percent valid, and it’s totally okay to still be mad at me for this. I never expect Venus or Zombie to ever truly forgive me. However, let’s not spread misinformation. Reblogs are off from this point on to prevent the spread of misinformation. hello earthsparked!! it is Hot As Balls where I am (damn you global warming, making the highs higher and the lows lower), but it made me think about Sweat and how bots may react to it.

we already know of some bots who Don't Like Organics/Humans, which is Kind of Fair we are Icky and Sticky, yet it's really interesting to imagine how a species that cools itself using integrated vent systems would Think of Sweat. I mean, we are made of Mostly Fluids, most of which are constantly moving, but we LOSE some of it to cool ourselves!! that's kind of crazy because we also NEED that fluid to Hydrate!!

using Prime bots as examples, I think that the most grossed out of them are: Knock Out (obviously), Starscream (also obviously), Ratchet (he's half worried and half grossed out), Ultra Magnus (he's mostly worried + kind of grossed out), and Megatron, but only partially (he just doesn't care).

the ones that are Interested in Sweat (not like that) are: Shockwave (he needs to know How and Why we developed to sweat), Optimus (who appreciates that humans are a product of our environment), Airachnid (she likes that we sweat b/c of Fear), and Bumblebee/Smokescreen (Bee is worried but grateful that we have a way to cool ourselves off) (while Smokescreen is like "woah???? what that's so weird!!!)

You know, I think they would almost certainly manufacture far more heat than our bodies do. Only, they have a system of actual coolant lines and fans, probably heat sinks where needed. Meanwhile we're stuck being little half-assed swamp coolers. (I joke but it's a really cool system. Pun intended.)

I think what would really upset some of them is how, when you get above a certain humidity level, our natural cooling systems just don't work anymore. When you're largely relying on evaporative cooling for internal temperature regulation, and nothing is evaporating, you're pretty much screwed unless you can change something about your environment. Add in higher-than-normal nighttime temperatures that don't drop enough to allow for temporary cooling, and it gets REAL bad. Been there, on my way there again this summer, so you have my sympathy.

You're absolutely right to mention it: this is a serious concern IRL with climate change. You can reach a point where if you don't have a way of cooling your surroundings, it's flat-out unsurvivable.

I think they'd understand the dangers of overheating pretty well, since that's something that could happen to them, too, if their systems fail or experience damage. But of course, they can just replace anything that melts. It's harder for us to replace damaged internal organs, which is what can happen with severe heat stroke.

What would be even worse than you being all sweaty? The moment when they realize you've stopped sweating. When you tip over the line from "sit in the shade and have some cool water" to "hopital."

The good news is: if mechs don't like you being sweaty, all they have to do is let you in their alt mode and crank the air conditioning. I bet they can blast you straight to frosty in ten seconds with their cooling systems. (Seriously that is a LOT of heat they must be putting out. They gotta have the sort of heat dispersal ability that you usually wouldn't find outside of a nuclear reactor. But that's just fun conjecture.)

They would at least make real nice shady areas. Park themselves somewhere real sunny with no shade, and quickly have a bunch of humans lounging in their shadow. Like a sunbeam for cats in reverse.

Re: what do dominant people need to recover after a harder-kink session?

Biggest things that helped me were taking some time afterwards to sit together, talk with her about what she had or hadn't enjoyed, just some reassurance that she knew I respected her IRL and that I only was willing to manhandle her in various ways because it turned her on, that I wouldn't ever purposefully do anything that she wasn't ok with, and so on. TBH, I had a lot of problems as a young guy with feeling guilt over how my sexual urges were bad or dirty in some way due to my libido being directed towards women.

I'd managed to internalize a really dysfunctional blend of messages about sexuality, growing up in a liberal family in a very conservative state. Like, when I was a teenager I felt guilty about things as benign as "liking doggy style", "enjoying receiving blowjobs", and "fantasizing about getting with two bi girls". The latter was a fantasy that I had like one time as a teen boy, and I felt so guilty about objectifying bi women that I was almost sick to my stomach. I was a weird teenager.

I did develop some kinks that are probably coping mechanisms or ways to avoid the guilt of being sexually forward, now that I think of it, as well as the anxiety of needing to make sure she's enjoying it.

While I am dominant-leaning I'm very much into being begged for stuff. The more I can trick her into begging for what she wants, and directing the encounter as the bottom, the better. Saves my attention and focus for doing a good job of getting us both off rather than having to decide what's gonna happen next.

Never understood the hate for submissive women who "top from the bottom", it's incredibly erotic to me.

I think you can get around this fear by being open-ended in the feedback that you request from subs. So, for instance, you can tell subs that one thing that you need as a form of aftercare and ongoing negotiation is for them to give you a reflection of their experience a day or some days afterward. This can happen in a conversation or via them keeping a journal or something similar. Ask them to describe what they liked, what they'd like to see go differently, what they want more of. This will get you a lot of feedback that is reassuring without you specifically having to ask for reassurance and feel like you're manipulating the conversation in some way.

I think once you have established a really good rapport with a sub and can communicate with them effectively (and TRUST them to tell you when things aren't working for them), then you can say, straight up "I feel like an awful person sometimes after doing CNC/etc, can you check in the next day to tell me you're doing okay and that I'm not evil?" Or whatever else you might need.

I get you very much about the gender political baggage that comes with wanting to be a Dominant man with woman partners... from the opposite side of things. One barrier to fully enjoying my kinks pre-transition was that I considered it totally socially unacceptable to be a "weak woman." I wasn't even especially feminist, it was more about not being taken advantage of and being worthless. I came from a cultural mileu in which women were expected to be strong and capable and practical, and in academia, women were similarly pretty no-frills and had to appear confident. I felt like being too passive would be unattractive or make me less human, almost. One way to get around this was transitioning. It was really a hell of a hack for this. I don't feel bad about being a passive hole getting used anymore, and I don't have to worry much about the motives behind my partner's Dominance... they're not seeing me as a gender stereotype of a woman anymore and so i'm freed of all that. For cishet couples, I think affirming one's shared feminist values etc is helpful for everyone involved, and clarifying that these roles are not inherent they are chosen.

My current dog handler/mommy interestingly needs a partner to beg for their cum before they can bust a nut inside someone. I don't know if it is for similar feminist/consent hesitation reasons because they're pretty good at letting loose on me otherwise, but they've articulated to me that it's a thing that they need. It's a great move. There's a few other things you can do as well when that fails. For example, when my Dom/mommy thinks that I might be getting too headspacey and zoned out of being fucked they will ask me to fuck them -- they'll stop moving and i have to hump at their dick and take it in as deep as I can get it myself. That shows that I'm still alert, motivated, and interested as hell in whats happening. just a really fun hot way to check in and get reassurance without breaking scene. I'm sure there's so many other options.

that’s the only message you got from the streamer for month the while you got to know the other people in the server. over time, you got to learn more about him indirectly. he didn’t talk a lot in his own server, but you do know how about how much he owns a lot of shirts with wolves on them..? and how he collects pokemon cards, but specifically only weezing cards. he has three binders full of them— he even paid $200 for a card once.

you really liked being apart of the server. you started donating to him sometimes, too, just a few dollars here and there to show your support. his reaction to your money was kind of cute, so there was more than one plus to donating.

“thanks for the $5 y/n! i really appreciate it,” he said, “i’ll play ow just for you, okay?”

it was nice getting to know him— yeah, you did feel a bit parasocial at times, but at the end of the day, you were close to him in some way.

then, he messaged you, privately. at first, you just stared at the message, thinking he got hacked. so you had to confirm, obviously.

and that’s how you ended up on a 2 hour call with him, playing valorant. you don’t even find valorant fun, but you made an exception for him. somehow, he made it fun, too. he didn’t really talk in the call— it was mostly you telling him about random interests that you had and him replying with one or two word responses, but it was sweet. you liked his listening skills.

this ended up becoming a daily habit— he would message you after his streams and you would tell him about your day as you two played a random game. your minecraft world got very complex at one point, until he died and lost all his stuff. the world was never touched again after that. eventually, he started talking more, too. you got to know the real him— inumaki toge— not sawcondeez.

“you have to promise not to tell anyone about my identity, y/n,” he told you, “i will literally quit twitch and delete all my sawcondeez accounts.”

so, you promised not to tell anyone. as his trust in you built up, you got the classic edater face reveal and moving off of discord onto imessage. it was silly, you felt like you got transported back into 2020 when you would mess around on discord servers to get nitro, but this time it wasn’t just playful flirting. it felt real.

“hey inumaki are we ever gonna meet up?” you asked.

he paused for a moment before answering, “we’re only like a 20 minute drive from each other, lol. i was waiting for you to ask.”

“wait so you’ve been making me feel like a stupid edater when we could’ve been seeing each other irl this entire time.”

“i had to build up the tension, y’know?”

he got a scolding that night. but you also made plans to meet up at a cafe nearby as well.

How Murderbot feels about Star Trek: The Next Generation

(I’m going to mostly focus on the show, not the movies)

Pros:

The right kind of unrealistic +3

Lots of content +2

Large ensemble cast with recurring side characters +2

adventure/action serial with enough interpersonal drama to be interesting +2

The humans are friends with each other (and the alien crew members) +3

I think it would enjoy the practical effects, the CR probably overwhelmingly uses CGI. +1

Humans on a ship show, ART would enjoy watching with it. +5

A good leader with a strong moral backbone who can keep his head in a crisis. He reminds it of Doctor Mensah.

It likes that he mostly stays safe on the ship and listens to advice from his crew.

His constant philosophizing is a bit off putting.

William T Riker- 5/10

Oh gross he’s making out with someone again.

Overall it likes him, but doesn’t have a strong opinion.

Geordi LaForge- 7/10

Augmented human

Seems like someone it would feel safe around

It likes that he’s friends with Data without talking down to him.

Tasha Yarr- 9/10

The Chief of Security!

Its favorite character in season one

Projects on to her a little,

It feels so uncomfortable about what happens in The Naked Now though.

It was so pissed off by the end of season one that it quit watching for a whole cycle.

Worf- 8/10

The new Chief of Security

Mixed feelings at first but grows to like him

Wishes the humans would listen to him more

Likes that he gets to be grumpy without consequences

Relates to him as a non-human who has to keep his identity in a human world

It is fairly ambivalent to Klingon culture and their focus on combat and pain, but likes the political drama.

Beverly Crusher- 7/10

Mom energy like Doctor Mensah

It likes and respects her

It finds her drawn out will they/won’t they romance with Picard a bit annoying. Just pick one and stick with it already.

It calls the romance annoying but it’s invested in the drama.

Deanna Troi- 5/10

Bharadwaj energy. Sometimes it feels a bit attacked by her keen observations.

It would not want to encounter someone with empathic powers irl, It’s annoying enough that ART can read its emotions in the feed.

Hates all her romances except what she’s got going on with Riker.

Mixed feelings about her being married to Worf in that one parallel universe.

Data- 2/10

Data makes it deeply uncomfortable.

Reminds it of Miki.

The crew’s human-form pet robot, except technically none of them own him.

It hates that he wants to be human.

It hates that he’s “fully functional.”

Why does Data get to live without a guardian but not it? It’s not jealous.

Whenever the question of whether Data is sentient comes up it gets really angry.

It doesn’t like how the rest of the crew are condescending to him sometimes. They just communicate with him badly.

Data is friendly, social, wants to be human, is a scientist, and experiments with art and literature. Is this what its humans want it to be? Will it ever be enough?

Has an emotion whenever he calls someone his friend or vice versa.

Roots for him in the courtroom episode though

It says it hates Data but pays more attention to him than any other character.

Wesley Crusher- 6/10

Juvenile human

He’s annoying but it also feels protective of him.

It doesn’t like how his character arc ends. It wanted him to graduate and rejoin the crew permanently.

It does think it’s funny that he puts humanity on trial for being shitty though.

Hello!

I am a writer, not a (published) author yet :,) I'm still trying. I do have a background in marketing and communications though, so here's my 2 cents!

How to Market a Book

Know your audience

You can spend all day (and all your efforts) posting and creating content, but unless you're posting the right things in the right places, it'll be a wasted effort. You should only focus on posting content that will reach the people who would want to read your book.

So take your genre/age range/themes of your book and try to connect them with an ideal reader. Your audience might look like "girls aged 12-15 who like dark magic, are fans of Maggie Stiefvater, and identify with a warm climate" for example. This gives you a start on where to reach these people.

1.5 Research your audience

When you come up with an audience you believe would be most likely to read your book, you now need to do research on them. Most importantly, you need to know what they need--what pains them in life, and how does your book fulfill that need?

Other things you should know about your audience:

Where do they hang out online? (Social media platforms, forum rooms, communities, etc.)

What are they searching for?

How do they prefer to consume their content?

What key words or hashtags are they likely to use/be attracted to

What do they appreciate from online messaging? (younger generations prefer authenticity, older generations tend to prefer clarity)

You can do this through searching it online, or better, talking to people who would be part of your target audience and asking them about their habits.

2. Form your brand around your audience

Your brand is more than just colours and fonts (though having that consistency is important too). Mostly, it's about how you interact with your audience and the world. Are you cheeky, genuine, funny, edgy? This should depend on what your audience wants to see.

Most brands align with what's called an archetype:

The archetype provides a structure on your brand voice, colours, values, and essentially how you present yourself to your audience.

Different audiences will appreciate different archetypes. A younger, fantasy-loving audience may feel more aligned with the Hero + the Jester for example. I'd recommend looking more into these + examples to get a sense of which would be best for you.

3. Post content your audience will find value in, where they are likely to find it

By this I mean, if your audience is most likely to be on Instagram and TikTok, that's where you should be too. This information comes from your target market research.

Also from your research, you should find out what your audience values and how that aligns with your product. So, let's say your fantasy novel comments on real world social issues, and you're aiming for a Gen Z audience. This is a perfect pair because Gen Z tends to value social issues and the environment (among other things), so you should be posting things that really highlight that aspect of your work.

3.5 Social media tips!

Success on social media is nebulous, but there are a few things you can do to help your chances:

Follow trends (that make sense to your brand)

Worry less about posting often and more about posting consistent, high quality, and valuable posts

Do what you enjoy (trust me, trying to post things that you don't love to do will not last that long. Focus on using social media in a way that you're proud of your product and like the process.)

Engage your audience--reach out to them, instead of waiting for them to come to you.

Engage with others in your circles as well! Other fantasy authors, editors, artists, etc. are a great beginnings of community, and can provide opportunities for guest posts and collaboration

Go to IRL events too and invite people you meet to follow you (open mic nights, networking events, festivals, book readings etc. are all great events. Just make sure you're not focusing too much on plugging yourself, and make genuine connections!)

4. Have a hub

Social media is a great starting point, but it's important for long-term brand and audience building to have a hub that belongs to you for your audience to collect. For example, if your audience is entirely on Instagram and IG suddenly closed the next day, you'd be left with nothing. However, if you also have a newsletter and use your Instagram to lead people to your newsletter, you never have to worry about that suddenly going away, you own and can control that newsletter and how you interact with that audience.

My main thought regarding the new Doctor Who episode "Lucky Day":

As I was watching the episode for the first time, I was surprised that the show told us hardly anything about Conrad's podcast. All the way up until his main reveal, the only things we really know are that 1) the podcast relates to Conrad's supposed interest in alien theories, especially regarding the Doctor, 2) it has enough of an audience that he was able to find Ruby by posting a picture of her online, and 3) it's relevant for him to mention that some people think UNIT and their work is just a big hoax, and that these deniers have their own communities and shows.

Obviously, in retrospect, this is because of the Doylist reason that the show wanted to keep Conrad's podcast a secret until the mid-episode reveal, and showing the podcast's name/too many hints could have made that reveal less impactful. However, even before that reveal takes place, I was distracted by the lack of satisfying Watsonian reasons for this information to be hidden, mostly because this shows a worrying lack of foresight on Ruby's part.

I'm not saying Ruby should get some kind of blame for her getting betrayed and hurt by Conrad. She absolutely didn't deserve it, and Conrad was definitely working to keep his UNIT-denying side hidden during their relationship. But from the moment Conrad mentions the UNIT-deniers while recording his podcast, I thought, "Wait, that's a good point. What stance is this podcast taking on the matter? What kind of audience does it have? What is this show's premise? Hell, what is its name?"

And again, the Doylist reason is clear! With these details out of the audiences' sight, we have to fill in the blanks ourselves, leading us to assume that this character - who had a personal interaction with the Doctor as a kid, who witnessed an alien (albeit in glimpses) himself, who saw the Doctor and Ruby out on a mission, AND who witnessed the TARDIS vanishing - is on the side of "UNIT is working on real issues and these aliens are real."

However, I think part of the reason we filled in the blanks like that is because of another assumption: "Well, Ruby would know better than to go on the podcast of one of these deniers."

Which begs the question: how didn't she know, or suspect, from the start?

As we learn later in the episode, Conrad is established in the UNIT-denying shitty-belief sphere. He has a lot of paid subscribers and a growing movement behind him. Granted, we learn this after a timeskip, during which he likely experienced a boom in his popularity. Still, even before then, his podcast is established enough to not only have the budget for pretty decent monster costumes and matching t-shirts, but to also have the numbers and ability to use a small village for a stunt. He already has people parroting his (or saying their own) shitty views, and he has the audience to spread the word once he releases that first major livestream. Hell, like I mentioned before, he had that audience when he first wanted to find Ruby. Since we see Ruby's own mother and grandmother looking Conrad up on the Internet and finding (what sounds like) his personal social media accounts, how did neither or them, nor Ruby herself, encounter Conrad's presence in these groups? His podcast's core message or audience?

The ONLY solution I can think of is that Conrad was somehow deliberately playing a long game, and he had enough followers who were wiling to keep their mouths shut about it, at least publicly.

Maybe Conrad only engaged in these communities and planned everything by using "anonymous" accounts. He didn't post his face or voice, and when he formed a team that he could interact with IRL, he made sure that everything stayed between them and them only. That way, at least on the surface, searching for Conrad's given name wouldn't yield any worrying results, and he only revealed his true face and name during the Colsin Village Shreek staging.

At the same time, Conrad starts his podcast, which may or may not be called Think Tank (I can't remember if Conrad says that the podcast is called Think Tank, or if it was just the name of their group as a whole). He makes his show either a convincingly innocent podcast that "just asks questions" (so that his audience is largely comprised of skeptics that are biased towards his opinions, bad-faith arguments, and deliberately staged "reveals" about UNIT) and/or he fills every episode with dogwhistles so that the hardcore UNIT deniers could find him from day one, all while making the show seem harmless to people who aren't in the know. This way, Ruby could look over his podcast before agreeing to be on it while not suspecting a thing.

The last tricky thing to handle with this theory is the idea of Ruby being found by Conrad's audience. How did she not encounter UNIT-deniers while people were looking for her? Well, either the hardcore-UNIT-deniers in Conrad's audience at the time knew (or were instructed) to keep their worse beliefs hidden and play nice in order to help bring this girl to their leader, the UNIT-deniers weren't as vile and whipped up at this point in time, or Ruby just happened to be spotted by Conrad's less extreme audience members (possibly the previously theorized "skeptics"). All of these possibilities have their pros and cons, but I guess any could work.

STILL. I am annoyed at the episode for not explaining any of this, because without a hell of a lot of head-scratching and "What if"ing, it just feels like Ruby carelessly guest-starred on a podcast with no background-checking whatsoever.
