! $1,975 in 5 days !
acacia now has only 5 days until their rent is due, and there is still $1,975 to raise
10 people donating $198 or 20 people donating $99 or 25 people donating $79 shall get acacia to their goal
$800 / $2,775 due tuesday april 2
from acacia: i do not have, and have never had, a basic quality of life i have had the first four decades of my life taken from me by the harmful actions of others, and have had to endure living in severe poverty, painfully witnessing my life and my potential and go to waste every day, because i have never been deemed worthy of receiving basic needs and have been left to go without
i live with immeasurable grief and have to come to terms with not only the loss and destruction to my life but also the significant loss of my capacity, only ever being able to experience a mere shadow of what i was originally capable of; all of this because of harmful others who'll never know what i've lived through and shall never go without a day in their life
your donations and sharing support have the power to radically transform acacia's life, interrupt the cycles of oppression they are trapped in, end the suffering they are so familiar with, and provide them with an opportunity to move toward the life they deserve
acacia does not have the privilege of community, friends, connections, or people to help share, and they are also extremely isolated; they are relying on people who see this post here to either share or to contribute
please circulate these flyers in spaces where they are likely to receive donations and contribute if you have $1 or more of wealth to spare 🤍
care for acacia
$2,775 rent due tuesday april 2
raised: $800
acacia is relying solely on donated funds to meet each of their needs as they begin their recovery from a lifetime of harm, poverty + neglect; please give generously

just saw a post comparing anxieties about human trafficking to the satanic panic, and feel the need to point out the crucial distinction that satan is fake and human trafficking, while it does not often happen the way white parents freak out about it happening, is actually very real
#undocumented immigrants of color are more likely to be victimized by human trafficking of all kinds#human trafficking is the inevitable result of a system that criminalizes free movement#and domestically black children are far more likely to be victims of human trafficking/sexual exploitation#just because they're projecting very real threats to multiply marginalized children on suburban white kids doesn't mean it doesn't exist#mine

US Americans, above almost all else we need to be shopping small and local right now or not at all.
Places like Walmart make the communities they are in poorer.
“Why?” you ask? Because the money you spend there is all going to corporate, and that’s not where you are. They won’t be spending money where you are.
Money spent at small, local businesses is much more likely to end up back in your hands (local multiplier effect)
It may be more expensive or less convenient, sometimes, but this is how you put money in more than just 5 people’s pockets.
5 people whose marginal propensity to consume is relatively unchanged by your purchase.

being the friend that's "too woke" fucking sucks because everyone else can talk about their political beliefs just fine, but the moment you say something, the conversation either dies or you get berated for it. god forbid you want to talk about any lesser-acknowledged type of discrimination (E.G. sanism, fatphobia, ageism, etc.)!!
#personal#fatphobia#sanism mention#<- both mostly in the tags#even in the spaces I'm validated most people will briefly turn on Me if I bring up any political take that they don't want to consider#so RN I'm watching people saying 'oh it's fine for children to be fat but fat adults are just lazy'#KNOWING that nobody is gonna back Me up if I say 'maybe moralizing weight is bad actually'#I remember once calling a character most people consider 'average-looking' fat#in comparison to how a female character considered 'ugly' WITH THE EXACT SAME BODY TYPE is treated and everyone was like#'you stupid fucking SJW he's not fat at all. he's just a bit out-of-shape. stop being stupid.'#I've called out the demonization of antisocial personality TWICE on that forum and both times the thread immediately died forever#the plight of being marginalized is that even the people who like you the most can't be relied upon to defend you#in the face of their moderate discomfort and your violent oppression#moreover. the plight of being multiply marginalized is that even the people who stand with you against one oppression#will turn on you over another#BUT ANYWAY. time to move on. it's honestly best not to waste My energy on people who won't listen to Me anyway#you've gotta focus your efforts on making an actual difference not pleading with the willfully ignorant to change their ways

Care for Acacia is a collaborative project between vulnerable peer-in-need Acacia and peer supporter Asa'.
The aim of the project is to meet Acacia's most basic and essential needs, provide them with a baseline quality of life, create a pathway out of poverty, and build the foundations they need to generate their own income.
Acacia is very severely marginalized and extremely vulnerable. Their life has been a daily fight for survival in poverty, alone, navigating violence, in a perpetual and desperate search for safety, community and belonging.
Acacia is in great need of the care, love and support of their communities and to have their most basic and essential needs met. Let's give Acacia the care and quality of life they deserve.
Together we thrive … one act of community care at a time ❤️🩹
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Due to Acacia's high support needs and burnout, this blog is ran by an anonymous volunteer on Acacia's behalf.

it's a little ghoulish to read 'trans women of color and poor trans women don't survive' verbatim as someone who is both those things!
but the context was the question of: why are so many trans women white and middle class? and like. it's because people are racist and classist, and don't befriend, platform, or seek those types of trans women to where visibility would be at all equivalent. certainly being multiply marginalized puts you more at risk of harm, but we can't apply survivorship bias to such a question

"It is 70 years since AT&T’s Bell Labs unveiled a new technology for turning sunlight into power. The phone company hoped it could replace the batteries that run equipment in out-of-the-way places. It also realised that powering devices with light alone showed how science could make the future seem wonderful; hence a press event at which sunshine kept a toy Ferris wheel spinning round and round.
Today solar power is long past the toy phase. Panels now occupy an area around half that of Wales, and this year they will provide the world with about 6% of its electricity—which is almost three times as much electrical energy as America consumed back in 1954. Yet this historic growth is only the second-most-remarkable thing about the rise of solar power. The most remarkable is that it is nowhere near over.
To call solar power’s rise exponential is not hyperbole, but a statement of fact. Installed solar capacity doubles roughly every three years, and so grows ten-fold each decade. Such sustained growth is seldom seen in anything that matters. That makes it hard for people to get their heads round what is going on. When it was a tenth of its current size ten years ago, solar power was still seen as marginal even by experts who knew how fast it had grown. The next ten-fold increase will be equivalent to multiplying the world’s entire fleet of nuclear reactors by eight in less than the time it typically takes to build just a single one of them.
Solar cells will in all likelihood be the single biggest source of electrical power on the planet by the mid 2030s. By the 2040s they may be the largest source not just of electricity but of all energy. On current trends, the all-in cost of the electricity they produce promises to be less than half as expensive as the cheapest available today. This will not stop climate change, but could slow it a lot faster. Much of the world—including Africa, where 600m people still cannot light their homes—will begin to feel energy-rich. That feeling will be a new and transformational one for humankind.
To grasp that this is not some environmentalist fever dream, consider solar economics. As the cumulative production of a manufactured good increases, costs go down. As costs go down, demand goes up. As demand goes up, production increases—and costs go down further. This cannot go on for ever; production, demand or both always become constrained. In earlier energy transitions—from wood to coal, coal to oil or oil to gasthe efficiency of extraction grew, but it was eventually offset by the cost of finding ever more fuel.
As our essay this week explains, solar power faces no such constraint. The resources needed to produce solar cells and plant them on solar farms are silicon-rich sand, sunny places and human ingenuity, all three of which are abundant. Making cells also takes energy, but solar power is fast making that abundant, too. As for demand, it is both huge and elastic—if you make electricity cheaper, people will find uses for it. The result is that, in contrast to earlier energy sources, solar power has routinely become cheaper and will continue to do so.
Other constraints do exist. Given people’s proclivity for living outside daylight hours, solar power needs to be complemented with storage and supplemented by other technologies. Heavy industry and aviation and freight have been hard to electrify. Fortunately, these problems may be solved as batteries and fuels created by electrolysis gradually become cheaper...
The aim should be for the virtuous circle of solar-power production to turn as fast as possible. That is because it offers the prize of cheaper energy. The benefits start with a boost to productivity. Anything that people use energy for today will cost less—and that includes pretty much everything. Then come the things cheap energy will make possible. People who could never afford to will start lighting their houses or driving a car. Cheap energy can purify water, and even desalinate it. It can drive the hungry machinery of artificial intelligence. It can make billions of homes and offices more bearable in summers that will, for decades to come, be getting hotter.
But it is the things that nobody has yet thought of that will be most consequential. In its radical abundance, cheaper energy will free the imagination, setting tiny Ferris wheels of the mind spinning with excitement and new possibilities.
This week marks the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere. The Sun rising to its highest point in the sky will in decades to come shine down on a world where nobody need go without the blessings of electricity and where the access to energy invigorates all those it touches."

it's also like. people hearing public sex and immediately jumping to "people will be PERVERTS fucking in front of CHILDREN!!!!" is, in fact, just the result of anti-homeless, racist, homophobic, and transphobic (specifically transmisogynist) propaganda and legislation going back Decades upon Decades upon Decades.
The phrase "public sex" has historically been used to criminalize sex work and homelessness, at increasing rates for people who are multiply marginalized.
If you've ever had sex in your car? You technically "belong", legally speaking, on the sex offenders registry. This includes alleys, abandoned buildings, forests, and more!
If you can't see how this framing has been pushed over time to make you have an incredibly reactionary response to the concept, immediately jumping to "public sex is for PERVERT DEGENERATES" then like. You're beyond saving at that point.

That's Right: It's Another Hot Take About That Dead Healthcare CEO
The websites are abuzz with debate on the utilitarian calculus of whether some guy getting shot was a good thing. What are the odds that the assassination will scare the horrible greedy health insurance companies into changing their ways and fixing the system? Is it worth killing someone over? Will the fear of being blasted by some guy with stylishly-engraved bullets put the fat cats in line? Or will their greed win out over their fear, leaving the nightmarish system unchanged?
Well, what if that was totally irrelevant?
You may have seen a graph that looks like this:

I've seen a few of these going around. These are the rates at which various health insurance companies say "no, you don't get the money" when someone says "hey I need money for this medical thing". UHC, the one whose CEO got shot, is notably really bad in this respect. They've got algorithmic claims denials and all kinds of nasty things that people don't like. All that money they're saving on paying out on claims must be making them rich, right? Let's look at their own financial reports:
Whoa! Big numbers! Six percent looks like a small number, but multiply and they make like thirty billion dollars doing this! That's a lot, right?
Well hang on. They're an insurance company. We can roughly model their profit as the amount people pay them for insurance, minus the amount they have to pay out for claims. Let's look at 2023: simple subtraction, their expenses are $339.2 billion. We simplify other overhead and assume that's all claims. So... that represents those 67% of claims they don't reject. What happens if they approve all the claims?
Multiply: $506.3 billion. They don't have that kind of money. They have $371.6 billion in revenue. So okay- they have to deny some claims. That's pretty normal. But let's pretend they're extremely afraid of assassins now and want to be completely non-greedy: they're okay making zero profit. They make $32.4 billion in profit- how many otherwise-rejected claims can they now afford to approve?
...uh. Well, they can afford to pay out, at most, 73.4% of claims. Still a denial rate of 26.6%, higher than most of their competitors. Not a huge improvement. And in reality, they can't afford to make 0 profit- a company that's making 0 profit is a company investors pull out of immediately, leaving it to collapse, because they can make more money investing in the ones that aren't as afraid of assassins. They've got to at least hover around the same profit margin as their competitors. Which is...
That's average profit margins for the whole US healthcare industry. So, okay, if we match those other companies' profit margins and try to hover around 3-4%... uh. Wait. Hang on. Here's another graph with more recent data on UHC specifically:
Wait, they're still just making that little 3-4% profit margin, even with all these shady automated denials- so how are those other companies doing better on claims? They're obviously not less greedy. They must be making more money somehow, right?
(My guess, sight-unseen, would be that they charge more for their plans, or offer less comprehensive coverage, or use a network of less expensive providers, or other things that make the amount they have to pay out smaller and the amount they're taking in larger. I don't feel like doing a comprehensive consumer review of what every insurance provider's healthcare plans are, but there's always these tradeoffs to make. UHC seems to be offering the tradeoff of "better or cheaper care, on paper" for "but there's a higher risk of getting denied", which is one annoying tradeoff among many.)
Okay But That's Enough Graphs
"Yeah yeah yeah shut up about profit margins and coverage tradeoffs. Is it a good thing that the CEO got shot or not?"
Well, their profit margin at the time he was shot was 3.63%. A company can't survive making 0 or less, so whatever effect fear of assassination has on UHC's greediness, it is going to be no larger than 3.63%.
They may learn the lesson that having their denial rates too high will get them assassinated. Accordingly, they may decrease that metric- by charging higher premiums, kicking expensive doctors out of their network, or reducing their stated coverage. They will not (because they cannot, without ceasing to exist as a company) simply start approving more claims without squeezing their customers elsewhere. They legally cannot do that. No matter how afraid you make the CEOs, you cannot make them afraid to a degree larger than their profit margin.
Well What The Fuck, Then
Like, what, are we supposed to accept that things will literally never get better and that this horrorshow is the best we can hope for? That's some bullshit! If we can't scare the CEOs, who can we scare?
Man I dunno.
Like, for some reason healthcare is stupid expensive! People can't afford to pay for healthcare without insurance- it's like thousands of dollars for basic procedures! Why? Maybe...
Doctors inflate their prices 10x because they know insurance companies will use complicated legal tricks to only pay 10% of the asking price, and this is a constantly escalating price war that serves mainly to fuck over the uninsured
Drug manufacturers and health technology companies fight tooth and nail to maintain monopolies over treatment, so they can charge gazillions to make back the gazillions they had to spend on FDA approval trials
(Trials those same companies lobby to keep necessary because the more money you have to pay for FDA approval, the harder it is for competitors to enter the market since they don't already have the gazillions)
Doctors operate as a cartel and lobby to gatekeep access to medical training so that they can keep doctoring a prestigious and exclusive position, and keep their own salaries high enough to pay their medical school debt and make them rich afterwards- leading to a (profitable) shortage of medical professionals
There is no limit to how expensive things can get but how much people are physically capable of paying, because frequently the alternative to "pay a ridiculous amount for healthcare" is "die", and so healthcare is subject to near-infinitely inelastic demand
Also like a thousand other equally annoying and complicated perverse incentives and stupid situations
This is the human condition: Shit is annoying and complicated and difficult to fix, pretty much 100% of the time forever. A few bullets in some fucko's back isn't really going to make a dent.
(But like, sure, fuck that guy. He probably sucked, as do the hundred other identical suits in line to replace him. Just... don't expect this to help.)

It’s been a week since The Kiss.
Or, as you call it internally: That Time Your Best Friend Kissed You and the Earth Briefly Left Orbit.
You haven’t talked about it since. Not really. Which is fine. Totally fine. Super normal and healthy to pretend like it didn’t completely short-circuit your brain. Like you didn’t replay it six million times while brushing your teeth and scream into your pillow every night.
Dean’s been acting weird. But like… Dean-Weird™, which means he’s just Dean but with more inexplicable hovering. He’s suddenly always around. Sitting a little closer on your bed during movie nights. Tugging on your sleeve when he wants your attention. Laughing way too hard at your dumb jokes in biology.
And the touching.
Oh my god, the touching.
Not in a gross way—just… casual. Shoulder bumps when you’re walking in the halls. His hand lingering on your back when he lets you go through a doorway first. Fingers brushing when he hands you a pen and then not pulling away immediately like a normal person with boundaries.
You’re losing your damn mind.
It all comes to a head on a random Tuesday, when some girl named Bridget says the word prom and detonates your brain like a glittery nuclear bomb.
“I still need a dress,” she whines to your shared lunch table. “I swear if Jeremy asks me last-minute, I’ll say no.”
“Prom’s still, like, a month away,” someone mutters.
“Exactly,” she says. “Which is basically tomorrow. Everyone knows you need time to coordinate colors.”
You giggle into your juice box.
And then, like a heat-seeking missile, Bridget turns to you. “Wait—Y/N, who are you going with?”
Your mouth opens. Closes. Reboots like a dial-up modem.
“I—uh—”
You feel Dean stiffen beside you.
You glance over. And that’s when it happens.
Your eyes meet.
It’s one of those moments—like in the movies. Time freezes. The hallway noise dulls. You’re looking at each other like it’s the first time, even though you literally know everything there is to know about each other. Inside and out.
And it’s like, Oh, are we supposed to go together?
Dean clears his throat and looks away, scratching behind his ear. “Prom’s lame.”
Your heart drops a little.
“Oh. Yeah. Super lame,” you echo, forcing a laugh that sounds a lot like heartbreak.
Bridget snorts. “You guys are so boring.”
Dean doesn’t respond. Shrugs. And then grabs a gummy worm from your bag like he’s never been affected by a kiss in his life.
The weirdness multiplies after that.
Dean’s still around. Constantly. But now there’s static. Like every brush of his hand against yours is electric. Like every “see you later” is packed with something unsaid.
He starts walking you to class more often.
Offers to carry your backpack one day when your shoulder’s sore. (He doesn’t even make a snarky comment about the sheer weight of it, which is extremely un-Dean.)
You catch him looking at you in chem, chewing on the end of his pen like he’s solving a particularly annoying equation. You’re not even doing anything—just doodling in the margins of your notebook. But his gaze feels warm. Heavy. Like he’s memorizing you for something.
You’re both dancing around it. The Thing. The maybe-sorta-crush that’s reached boiling levels of unbearable.
And then you’re both in the library one afternoon, doing absolutely zero homework, when he says it.
“So, uh,” Dean starts, voice low, “if you did go to prom… like, hypothetically… who would you wanna go with?”
You blink up at him. “Hypothetically?”
He shrugs. Looks anywhere but at you. “Y’know. Just curious.”
Your heart is thumping like a kettle drum.
“I don’t know,” you say, watching him carefully. “Depends if the hypothetical guy thinks prom’s lame.”
Dean’s lips twitch into a smile. He’s still not meeting your eyes, fiddling with the strap of your bag where it rests beside his thigh.
“Maybe he changed his mind,” he mutters.
You lean in a little. “Oh, really?”
He finally looks up. And you’re not ready for how serious his face is. It’s not a joke. He’s not teasing you this time.
“I’d take you,” he says. “If you wanted.”
The world goes silent.
“Put on one of those uncomfortable as hell tuxs and all.”
You forget how to breathe.
And then your voice comes out all high and soft and stupid: “Yeah. I’d want.”
Dean’s smile could light the damn sky.
…Cool.”
You sit there for a second, hearts going a hundred miles an hour in tandem, pretending you’re not both blushing like morons.
And then he reaches out—like it’s nothing—and takes your hand under the table. Just laces your fingers together, slow and gentle.
No one says anything else after that.
Because it’s not practice anymore.
You're going to prom with Dean Winchester.

part of transmasc erasure is the assumption that because we aren't "the most vulnerable" in a specific context, we are already having our needs met in that context, so there's no need to bring us up at all.
trans men, particularly Black & otherwise multiply marginalized trans men are at higher risk of murder because of their (intersectional) transmanhood. yet you rarely hear people discussing transmasc relationships with violence especially IPV, how anti-transmasculinity is related to femicides, how erasure leads to trans men dying and never being known as trans men so they are not included in the data. because they aren't the most at risk, so why bother, right?
but they still suffer greatly and that suffering comes from + is compounded by the work of erasure. there is throughout the world a severe lack of transmasc/FTM-centered resources, especially as it relates to topics associated with women such as femicide, menstrual poverty, sex work, etc. there is an implicit assumption that if transmascs are the most affected, then we don't need support directed at us specifically. but we do & that support by and large does not exist. because neither the perpetrators nor the allies see beyond erasure.
so where do we go? how do we seek healing? justice?
and then of course there are the contexts where data suggests we ARE the most affected. and still no one brings it up. multiple studies show transmascs having the highest rate of suicidal ideation & attempt, yet personally I rarely see people specifically talk about anti-transmasculinity when talking trans suicide rates. there are people who consider themselves pro-trans, pro-choice, intersectional feminists, yet never think about how transmascs are uniquely affected by lack of access to menstrual care or reproductive care. it's almost like the goal of erasure as a systemic tool is to make one's oppression unspeakable and unthinkable. it doesn't actually protect us at all.
we are more vulnerable than cis women, but still deemed unimportant enough to ignore twice. we are hated enough to be hurt without repercussions and disposable enough that no amount of harm is proof that we are victims deserving of a voice. even those that should be our allies see our absence as natural and comfortable, and when we insist on our presence, call it artificial and unnerving.
solidarity with transmascs means bringing us up every time we are denied a seat at the table we are actively dying beneath. assume transmasculinity is always relevant.

NOTE. pretty short, would probably be more of a drabble. nothing much to say other than this is not my best work but enjoy! credits to @benkeibear for the dividers.
SIDENOTE. my askbox is open! feel free to send in any thoughts, scenarios, requests etc for lando 🤍

y/n feels lando everywhere, in places where she cannot ever fathom the tingles of pleasure reaching, and it succumbs her mind to a state of tattered mesh. the margin between euphoria and pain chips away in grand chunks, red swiftly dissolving in green and all ability to think dwindles.
usually, she's one to favour a bit of overstimulation, hence why lando currently slams his hips into hers, cock jabbing her cervix incessantly just succeeding 2 consecutive orgasms. yet, partnered with the fact that she's high out of her mind (leading to heavily amplified sensations) and how she already had her own fun before lando came home (and, by proxy, got high and excessively horny) meant that her body was on the verge of crying out in it all just exceeding the usual threshold.
she can feel her body shaking, head nudging the headboard with every thrust lando bestows, and it's like she's bouncing on hot lava: seconds of pure relief, startled by white heat.
there's barely any transition between the build up and her orgasm, the wave of aching pleasure crashing upon her in the blink of an eye, and her back arches completely off the bed.
"fuck fuck fuckkk-"
"yeah, that's it, baby," lando groans as he continues to snap his hips into her ass, "you're doing so well for me."
he's not stopping, and y/n can't blame him because it's quintessential that they go for longer. then lando's pace quickens and his dick seems to fly in and out of her that she can't answer what he asks.
"you can give me another, can't you?"
she wants to shake her head, but she's completely unmoving. her moans turn into silent, drunken puffs, eyes fused tightly shut as she digs her nails into the flesh of lando's muscular back. paradoxically, everything feels like nothing at all, and simultaneously, too much and her mouth flies open desperately in sobs and words as hands push into lando's sides to get him off.
"red! fuck— red, lando!"
it's with neck snapping velocity that he sheaths out of her, broken out of his high daze so rapidly that he feels disoriented. their safeword has never been used before, and now that it has, he feels like crying.
"shit, baby, i'm sorry," he presses kisses into her chest and face, concern multiplying when her sobs don't stop, "are you okay? what's wrong?"
"just too much today, sorry," she shifts to straighten out her leg but it jostles her throbbing cunt, making her wince. lando's frown deepens; it's not usually this painful for her.
"nothing to be sorry for, love," another peck is stuck on her lips, "let me get you a towel."
her throat clogs up, too enervated and satiated to reply, so she hums affirmatively instead. the bed dips and, with hooded eyes, she watches as he makes his way to the en suite, hears a few seconds of shuffling before the creak of tap and gushing water.
lando resurfaces seconds later, gently opening her legs before wiping her down. every touch heightens tenfold, and she pushes his hands away after a couple of swatches.
lando's eyebrows stay furrowed, "y/n, you should've stopped me earlier-"
"it's fine, lan'," she stretches an arm to pull him in, "just wanna cuddle now."
he follows, tucking her body into his front as he kissed the side of her neck.
"i'll run you a bath after," lando weaves his fingers through hers, "sound good?"
finally, in a state of bliss, y/n softly smiles, pulling their braided hands up to land a peck onto lando's skin.
"yeah, love, sounds perfect."
