✨Redesigned Leo's look for Grown Apart AU ✨

The old one just wasn't doing it for me, it felt too cluttered and incohesive. Plus, it didn't match well with Mikey's design (which was partly intentional, but they do still need to look like they grew up in the same home.)

I like this one a lot more - it's simpler, not as thrown-together looking, and still maintains that "teen from the other side of the tracks who tries to appear cool & independent, but really just wants to make friends" vibe that I'm going for, lol.

The Sokovia Accords will force all enchanted people to register and be monitored by the government. Not only would the enchanted person's name be written down but most likely their power and how to restrain or weaken them if needed.

This means that a government person can easily take the list and sell it to individual people or force an enchanted person to do things for them. The list can also be leaked on purpose or by accident and a bunch of enchanted people would be put in danger by both the public and people who would like to use them.

This is a big problem for the Vigilantes who hide their identities to keep their families and loved ones safe. The civilians who have been minding their own business and probably don't have any experience fighting.

It's especially a problem for Danny, as he never had to keep his identity a secret from his ghost villains, he keeps his identity from the humans that could what to recreate his accident to gain power.

So I know you may not be back in it yet, but I just had this thought about Jaws right. So Jaws is new to the holidays. Wanda and Nat are making sure they get the full experience of every one as they come but still, Jaws is a little clumsy about them. So when Jaws overhears Wanda telling Tony she wants a ‘real tree’ not some fake one, they don’t even think about the fact that it’s around Christmas or asking what kind of tree Wanda is talking about. They’re just like ‘yeah, this is how I can do something for Wanda for all the nice things she does for me’ and they just go out and get a tree. Like, just grab and axe or something from Tony’s lab go find a pretty looking tree they know they can move and get into the compound and do their best lumberjack impression. And that’s how the team ends up with a small Oak Tree as their Christmas tree for Jaws’ first Christmas.

like wayyy back we talked a bit about Jaws' first Christmas, and I can definitely see this being a part of it!

Jaws just being eager in wanting to do something nice for Wanda without a care for full context is also very much on brand

I can see Jaws just going down to Central Park early one day and hacking down one of the nicer trees near the center of the park (Since all the leaves on the oak trees fall off in winter, choosing a "nice" tree is pretty much a matter of intuition).

Jaws just comes lugging the tree back to the compound with the proudest smile on their face, wood chips still stuck to their clothes and all 🤭

when Jaws told Natasha they were going to get a tree, she should've known better-

Wanda was touched nonetheless, and though it may look a bit odd at first, they still decorate the oak tree with lights and baubles the best they can. Plus they don't have to deal with stray pine needles 👌🏾

Tony most definitely had to pay for the unauthorized removal of public property, but hey it was worth it

I know we're not in the same fandoms, so I'm really curious: what themes and such do your long fics usually consist of? I tend to write very dark long fics.

Oh gosh... I think every longfic we've ever written has been some flavor of plot heavy, high stakes action/thriller with a complicated romance happening in the foreground. XD

Our big fics back when we were teenagers were:

an OC x canon X-Men fic about two runaway homeless teenagers fighting human-supremacist fascists who dug up the main character's best friend and turned her into a mutant killing robot.

an OC x canon the Incredibles fic which was a dark exploration of what it would be like if your villain f/o really came to make you his lover. Involved a lot of torture and being forced to confront your lack of morals and your lover's abusive tendencies.

A ZADR Zim fic where Zim and Dib got together while fighting an alien menace from outside time and space that wanted to drain all the energy from the main characters universe in order to combat and delay entropy and heat death in their own universe.

an extremely whumpy Matrix series about an OC who was a human working for the Agents.

Our more recent longfics have been:

The Primrose Path to Hell: a dark dubcon romance Resident Evil AU about Rebecca being seduced by Wesker against the backdrop of the early stages of the Umbrella Corporation's fuckery.

The Monster's Name Was Adam: Another resident evil fic-- this one is an enemies to lovers fic about a bitter old man who has lost everything finally succumbing to the desire to bring back to life the evil man he killed, and grappling with what it means that he cares about him.

and most recently

In Justice We Trust: which is a spy thriller mystery about a broken and abused human weapon who finally escapes his captors, and manages to form an emotional relationship with the man whose life he completely destroyed. And about a prosecutor who spends seven years in jail under a false charge only to fall in love with the man who committed the crime. It's also about recovering from child abuse, and about being plural.

So... yeah the themes of our writing are pretty heavy XD
