Skylar hated when they brought popcorn.

Being in a cage in the middle of the city, their only source of food were the things that people threw at them. It was embarrassing and thinly spread, but they were still alive.

It was an effective- no, it was their only method. They hated the tomatoes especially; they were rotten and messy and got in their hair and stayed sticky. They usually enjoyed when it was small items that could slip through the bars, but popcorn was the worst, especially on empty. The smell was tantalizingly torturous, and people would eat it in front of them to watch their suffering as people yelled and made their claims and accusations about them. Usually, Skylar would roll their eyes, turn their nose up, but sometimes that just wasn't possible.

They couldn't stand it. They were actually starving; they hadn't eaten in almost a week, and the stars they were seeing felt as if they exploded in their head. And then someone came. With popcorn. They would try to emerge from their withering state to taunt the onlooker to get them to start pelting- but there wasn't any reaction. No amount of accusations or jests was effecting him, he just he stood and ate. Their stomach was eating itself, they were pretty sure. He was absent minded and pretended Skylar wasn't there, looking at the fountain behind their cage as if appreciating the marble carving of the birds in the tree. He even was forceful about it- shoving his hand in the bag and flailed it around, causing popcorn to fall at his feet, out of reach of the prisoner.

Skylar bit back a groan. Crying was not an option, and neither was reacting. He would get mad and give up eventually. But since they put up an uncaring expression and tried to play the part of not caring, (or trying to convince themself to not care) their stomach started to rumble lowly. The thought of the crunch of the kernels sounded really good right now. Their stomach was ignored by them as they continued their apathy, however it made it worse as their energy sapped. 

They were about to say something extremely witty to this psychological torturer, in their opinion, when their stomach started to cramp and groan as a warning. Then, suddenly, a loud, very easily heard, growl burst forth. Their whole body clenched, doing everything not to double over. 

No crying. 

They laughed awkwardly, joking that there was a monster truck rally going on on the east side of the city, but the popcorn eater found the whole ordeal very funny and laughed his ass off. He then proceeded to dump the popcorn in the nearby trashcan. Skylar practically choked.

When he left, after darkness fell, they fought with themself not to let tears fall. Their wings were molting, and it seemed unhealthy- patches of feathers coming off, leaving bald spots. They watched their feathers drift down as some sort of replacement for crying. 

Someone threw a tomato from a balcony, and it landed in front of the cage bars. Skylar hated when they threw tomatoes. 

But dinner was good that night.

Acting The Part

I was a film student, that means I had to play a lot of roles. Mostly, however, I remained the one behind the cameras. Why? Well it was simply because I was pretty humble... in my own words, others would call me shy and reserved.

I had a project coming up, a final film for the semester. Had to be within the genre we were working for an unfortunately for me that was romance. I was not good with romance, obviously of course. I was shy. So... that was why I partnered up with a few buddies, Chris, Tony, Danielle, and Skylar. It was an optional group project due to how big it was. Unfortunately one guy who was left out was Brian. A total douche, called himself a sigma and everything. Totally full of himself.

Saw himself being the star too, always was in the movies... although with his ripped abs, jawline, and general physique... it was obvious why he thought he would be in the group... so we started scripting. It went well at first, that was until Brian started butting in. Asked if his girlfriend could be the love interest. This was supposed to be a group project and so we said no, Danielle would be covering that part. He whined about it until Skylar came up to me to ask something. "Do we need Brian here?" He asked softly, so he didn't actually hear. He was off arguing with Tony again, Go figure.

"Well... I did have an idea..." I admitted. Of course this idea was also a bit rude. We would simply do the script without him. Meetup some times, make excuses. It worked for a while until he started to get suspicious. He was stupid but he wasn't that stupid.

About a week into scripting, everything was coming out well. We almost had it done and we even had a role for Brian! Now we weren't going to tell him until the day of, and seeing how he needed this for a good grade... he'd have to go along with it. Well that was what I thought until he stopped me on the way to a class. "Hey [Y/N], how's it hangin." He put his hand beside my head as I leaned against the wall. He asked a simple question, quite friendly too... if it wasn't for his threatening tone. "Been a while, started to think my film partner died. That would have been bad." He chuckled and let up a bit. "Why don't we talk about the script for a bit. "I uh..." I tried to speak up but he put his hand on my back as he walked me away from the class I had next.

"You say somethin? No? Okay well good, we're goin someplace nice and comfortable." He started to walk me out of the building and through the campus. Some people stared at us, I mean a star football player and some film student would draw some eyes. Eventually we got to the bleachers of the football stadium. It was super empty and due to Brian having a part time job cleaning the place he had keys.

We sat down on some metal bleachers near the announcer's box and he had me get out my laptop. "So, run me through the script. Last I heard I was going to be the star?" He smirked a bit. This would be hard to break.

"Well uh... I'll just uh... we made some changes but everything's still very flexible!" I tried to assure him. I started at where it would begin, a nerd getting bullied. The bully was played by... Brian. he wasn't too happy but was willing to hear me out. Then I went through the story slower, more cautiously to not offend the giant oaf. Stuff about the nerds banding together... having a fun time and ultimately the nerd getting the nerdy chick. Danielle was supposed to play the nerdy girl, Skylar wanted to be the main character. I would be the camera man and director. Brian looked annoyed. "So... this sucks."

"Wait what? What about it sucks? Is it just because you're not the main star? You know what'd be weird." I tried to fight back. It was partially my script.

"Lemme guess, your buddy Skylar wrote a lot of it." I looked down and did have to agree... so I nodded, Skylar was a great writer though! "Look man, I know you don't like being in front of the camera and stuff but this might be your last little movie, why not have fun with it? How is this fair to you at all?" Wait was Brian sticking up for me?

"I uh... I guess it's not... But I don't really like being the star." I looked at the bigger guy who was now being oddly nice.

He sighed. "Yeah, and I'm not sayin you have to be. I mean you gave me a pretty raw deal." Brian looked oddly sad.

I was always the one to make peace... god damn it... would I really do this? I had to... "Well uh... what would you propose to change that stuff?" I asked, nervous to what he would propose.

"Well, here's my idea. We swap some roles around. Make it better for all of us. Skylar can run the camera this time, he always gets to be in front of it." I nodded, Skylar could be a competent camera man... "Glad you agree, then I can take his role as a nerd and you can be the rival... hell maybe you can get your own babe out of it."

"Wait, what?" I looked at the big guy confused. Him? The nerd? No way. And me as the rival? How the hell would I do that? "I don't think that'll work. I mean we should cast for what we're good at and..."

Brian cut me off, "Yeah and I'm pretty nice, right?" I looked at him, he was looking me right in the eyes. I nodded, not wanting to be rude. "Exactly! So I should be given the chance to play a fun nice guy!" His smile was reassuring but I still had issues.

"Yeah but I really don't think people will buy me as a douchebag..." I sighed and scratched my head. It was true. I was smaller, weaker, and dorky as hell.

"Well, sure, right now you don't but trust me! I got some ideas that can help you! But it's what someone would call... method acting. Probably heard of it."

"That sounds like a dumb idea, I'll be honest. I mean... that'll just get me bullied.... more than usual at least." I sighed, feeling like this was going nowhere.

"Nah, trust me bro. I mean if you stick with me I'll vouch."

"But I barely have any classes with you aside from film related ones." I looked a bit confused. How would that work.

"Well here's the deal. I can talk to my professors, tell them you wanna do some stuff and I'm sure with a little flexing of my status... we can get you in for the few more weeks or months we have left of class this semester. It's not gonna be much, mister straight As." He was going to do that for me?

"I guess... I could see how this goes... I could use a break before my other finals..." I chuckled a bit nervously, which made him pat my back, almost flinging me out of my seat.

"There we go! Here's my phone number and..." He grabbed my phone and put his number and contacts in, "We should be good to go, send me a link to the script btw! Gotta work on that thing!

That night I sent him the link, and felt oddly nervous about this. I mean... it was like starting a whole new life! I hadn't been in front of the cameras in a while so that would be nerve racking too! Brian's advice was to "Not think about it." Seemed he could go his whole life without thinking about much.

The next day we spent working out, and working on attitude. His girlfriend Tori came over during some of it and Brian said it would be a great time to practice confidence. I didn't nail it. He had a good laugh though and she took it in stride. Overall a good Saturday.

The day after that we worked on some more muscle, while also just hanging out again... this time some of his douchey friends came over. He was saying this was both confidence and some experience training. Like being in job training. Eventually I somewhat grew accustomed to them. They all were charismatic and handsome too. I felt oddly at home near some of them, hell I even threw some insults back at them when they came my way. I wasn't great at it yet.

Day three of this shit and I was now walking around with Brian and his little group. Seemed most of them had the same classes. I got stopped in the hall though by a classmate. He tried to direct me to class but... as per a whispered instruction... I mocked him and his shit haircut. After classes we worked out, seemed like this was something I had to do... Brian and Tanner, one of Brian's friends who was more in on it, said this was to make me not sound like a dork when referencing sports and shit. Good reason...

My the next week I was already feeling the burn. Skylar and the others were a bit pissed at me for blowing off our group meetings for hangouts with Brian and his crew. I told him I was method acting and he should get off my case. Well he didn't take it too well. "Well maybe you should stop being in our fucking shit if you like Brian that much!" That was a bad insult.

I yelled back. "Well, maybe if you didn't try to hog the limelight all the time I wouldn't be doing this shit!" It kind of just came out of me. For some reason... Skylar looked a bit... weaker and smaller than me. "Besides, not like you could even carry a movie with that fuckin acne." I may have went too far, he looked pissed and I felt awful. He stormed off leaving me alone...

I had a party that night, at the frat. Brian noticed me looking down the entire time. Came to comfort me. "Bro, trust me. He deserved it. I mean he's always been pushing you back and the moment you try and get out there and have fun he tries to put you back down? Not cool, you know that."

"Yeah but... I don't wanna fuck shit up with my friends and all that." I said with a red solocup in my hand.

"Well... maybe you're better off without them. I mean the only one I see potential in is maybe Danielle." I nodded.

"Yeah, Tony is a nobody, Skylar is a pussy... And I was both. Still feel bad for Danielle." I had a crush on her before.

"Well don't go around pussyfooting. I'm sure we can change the script and as her to method act too! I mean how much fun has it been for you, Oliver."

"Oliver?" I laughed and looked at Brian, "Why'd you call me that?"

"Oh! Well I had an idea. Just a small one. I mean why not go by your character's name? You are supposed to be method acting!"

"Yeah... Oliver... that... works well." I smiled. I mean I did look like an Oliver now... or at least the character! I didn't know how but in retrospect god my body was wimpy. Now I looked fire as hell!

The next few days would be painfully awkward. Skylar would try and salvage the script, much to the annoyance of Brian and I. There were two sides clashing and I knew which one sounded better, Skylar was just doing this for himself. Eventually Brian and I started a secret document, included Danielle in there too. Got them over Discord on a call to talk about the newer idea. By now we had enough of the nice guy act. Brian thought it was way too soft... he pitched the new idea. "Why don't we, instead of doing whatever that little soy boy wants, do our own thing. Like... Why don't we do something where the bullies got some character."

Danielle was hesitant. "Well what about the others? And what would my role be?"

I had an answer already. "Well we need a camera man and Tony, by far, is the best of Skylar and him. I mean I could do it but I've worked pretty hard."

"[Y/N]..." Danielle sighed, She was getting tired of this.

"Dani, it's Oliver or Ollie. I'm taking it pretty serious as you can see." I smiled. into the webcam which I never used before... hell my whole profile changed. Near daily pics of me were my banner and icon instead of some anime boy.

Brian nodded a bit. "So, we want you in this film too Dani, you're a great actress but we want you to practice your new role. You'll be Ollie's bitchy GF, like a mean girl kinda thing."

"But that isn't...." She got cut off by me again.

"Look, Dani... I know it ain't your style but this isn't mine either. To be a star you have to make sacrifices, and playing the part is the thing. I already asked and Tori can help you get into role. And hey, we can hang more if you do... I mean if you want my place is pretty open." It was an invite to fuck. By now I was still a virgin, even if Brian tried to change that many times.

"Okay..." She finally agreed. Thank god this was getting annoying.

Eventually we got our crew together. Some guys from the soccer team for scrawnier nerds, some guys from Brian's crew to be our friends and... Danielle was coming along fine. My type had shifted a bit, especially now that I could have options... they were molding her real nicely.

Skylar soon got wind of our plan but by now it was too late to stop. I was getting ready for the first day of filming. I had my body in peak performance, all done up by one of Tori's friends. And he came over to yell at me. Not congratulate me. By this point I just had Alex, one of Brian and I's friends walk him off the little set we staged. Students would be happy to actually get in this film. I mean we were big stars around campus and we knew it.

People loved how I changed. I became a star. I mean... with my now blonde hair, scuffy facial hair, ripped abs, giant body... who wouldn't. Brian helped me realize something. I was made to be in front of the cameras. I was made to be a star. Danielle would realize that in time too.

As for the filming... it went spectacular. We all got great grades, hell... we started helping Tony out with getting better himself! I mean... we'd need it if we wanted to make more of these. It was a fun parody film... even if it was meant to be serious. The audience didn't get it but whateves. Wasn't my problem. I just didn't have to think too hard about it.

Within months I asked out Danielle, she said yes... of course. We became a new power couple. I urged her to join a sports team like I was doing. I started football like Brian. We did well as a team... also started power lifting and by god I was great! Danielle did gymnastics and by god was she flexible. Eventually I had my name changed. I was welcomed into Brian's family pretty easily too... so I adopted his last name. We were the Greene brothers.... started small with acting and sports but soon, through some modeling and commercials... we started getting big.

As for Skylar... who knows what became of that no name wannabe. He didn't take his shot. Maybe if he was more eager he could have ended up as a male model like Tony. Eh, not my problem. I just played my part and helped everyone around me. That's what being a star is for... you play your part and you like it... And I love it.

What are some of your guys punk/queer punk inspirations? I’ve really been trying to find more music that scratches the same itch as y’all cause there are only so many times I can listen to pink and black in a row

Pansy Division is the reason we're a band. They are the OG of queercore pop punk, they toured with Green Day in the 90s, they were out on stage singing "we're the butt fuckers of rock n' roll / we wanna sock it to your hole" before Ellen even DeGeneresed.

Against Me! and Laura Jane Grace's post-AM! work are also a big anarcho-queer punk inspiration for us. Against Me's albums before Transgender Dysphoria Blues, before LJG transitioned, are absolutely excellent but obviously less explicitly queer than everything since then. But they're anarcho-punk classics all the same.

Sarah and the Safe Word are some of our best friends and they're gay as shit. We've toured with them a couple times and had a blast. They've got a lot of eclectic jazzy/folk genre influences that they mix with face-melting guitar work, very genrequeer.

Rev Your Motor is basically a song off Danger Days, so My Chem might scratch your same itch as Dog Park. MCR is always a good idea.

Also maybe this is cheating but Skylar is in another queer punk band called Atomic Broad, so that's a little bit like more Dog Park.

I honestly have never hated myself as much as I do right now, I have so much going on in my life outside school as well as in school, but when Isaac came to me asking for me to tutor him for chemistry ,as it is the only subject he isn't do well in, I felt really bad saying no to my boyfriend as I have no free time,so I asked Grace if she could as I know how good she is at chem ,and she said yes, and let's just say it came back to bite me in the ass.

I was sat at the lunch table with Jackie and Skylar as I took a extremely aggressive bite out of my apple as I watched them laugh at whatever the hell they were looking at , " are you okay Y/N?" Jackie says staring at me with a concerned facial expression, "yeah why wouldn't I be?" I continuing to aggressively bite into my apple. " because you look like your about to scrap a bitch" Skylar states bluntly and I look up at him and Jackie in surprise, " do I really?" I say curiously they both look at each other and nod in union, and I sigh and look away in embarrassment, " I don't know, its not that I don't like Grace she is lovely, I just hate how, well much time she has been spending with my boyfriend, I mean we have been texting and calling and speaking to each other every day it’s just, I feel like I haven’t seen seen him you get me?” I say shyly Skylar and Jackie both nod at my words, “ it was my idea so I shouldn’t be upset,I just miss him a lot recently and I regret saying no to tutoring him, because at this point it’s the only time we would have together” I say sadly. Skylar and Jackie both smile at me, but Jackie is the first to speak, “ how about you go up to him and try make some plans with him?I mean all you really want to do is see him your not really concerned what you guys are doing, from what it seems” Jackie states. “ you know what I think I will, thanks Jackie,You too Skylar”I say, they both just smile and I get up from my seat in the cafeteria and walk over to where Isaac and Grace are, when I reach them they are still laughing and Isaac looks up at me, and his face instantly lights up when he sees me, which I will admit makes me soften a little.

“Hey baby” Isaac says to me, “ Hey” I say back quietly, feeling quite weirdly shy, “hi Y/N” Grace says in a friendly tone, “ hey” I say back, “ um Isaac can I speak to you for a sec?” I say nervously, Isaac notices this as he smirks at me and gets up from his seat, “ I’ll be back in a sec” he says to Grace, she nods and me and Isaac head out of the cafeteria and into the hallway and find a empty classroom where we can be alone. As soon as as we enter the room Isaac wraps his around my waist and pulls me into him hugging me , which I reciprocate as I have been feeling really needy when it comes to my boyfriend recently, “so baby, what did you want to talk about” Isaac says nuzzling my neck which he does on purpose because he knows it makes me giggle, “ can we do something today” I thread my hand through his hair, “ I feel like I haven’t really seen you much Isaac and I hate that” I say quietly into his chest, “ me too me too, but I can’t today baby, I am revising at the library with Grace after school, I have that big Chem test coming up tomorrow,and you know I can’t fail it again, otherwise Aunt Katherine will kill me” Isaac says shuddering at the thought, I can’t help but make my body freeze at his words as I feel the jealousy coursing through my body, what he is saying makes perfect sense I know it does,but that just makes me more agitated for some reason.

“Oh that’s fine, don’t worry about it then, I’ll call you later then? I say quickly pulling away from Isaac feeling tears sting my eyes, “yeah wait Y-, I sprint out the room before Isaac can finish too overwhelmed to go back, I know he wishes he had time, but I just wish that he had that right now, I sound really really selfish, but I just really need him today and he can’t be there and that kinda makes me feel like shit. The tears begin to fall from my eyes as I speed walk out of school, not caring if I get punished for skipping.

In the end I drove home climbed into bed and put some Netflix on to try and cheer me up, but all that was replaying in my head was me and Isaac’s conversation, I have been so overdramatic , but I don’t know why, I think I’m just having one of those days, I feel my phone vibrate and I instantly know who it is and I put my phone on silent,then I feel a light knock on my window , I sigh quietly when K see Isaac and open it to let him climb through, which he does before plopping himself next to me on the bed, “ Hey” He says looking at me “ Hey aren’t you supposed to be in school?, you know Katherine is going to kill youu when she finds out you skipped” I say confused as to why he is here at this time of day “ I know I know but I had to though” he says staring intently at me “ and why is that?” I ask curiously . “ because I need to know why my girlfriend left school on the verge of tears” Isaac says seriously, I look away in shame,embarrassed that he knew I was upset, I though it was obvious but I didn’t think it was that obvious. “Don’t be ashamed for having feelings” Isaac states reading me like a book, “come here”Isaac says with open arms, I climb onto Isaac’s lap, and wrap my arms around his neck, he rubs my back gently in and up down motion,whilst the other hand is on my waist, he places his lips on my head and just holds it there before speaking. “So, how are you actually feeling hmm?” Isaac asks gently continuing to rub my back.

“Is that how you really feel” Isaac states as he continues to cuddle me, I just nod quietly, Isaac’s face pulls into a small smile which confuses the hell out of me. “Baby, why didn’t you just tell me? you know I would never want you feeling overwhelmed and feeling like you need me and can’t reach me” He says, “ yeah I know,you just have a lot on your plates right now, and I didn’t want to add to it” I say in a hushed tone, “oh Y/N, baby you need to understand,anything your going through is never a issue or work added to my plate, your problems are my problems too because your my girl, and we’re a couple we’re supposed to go through our issues together, your problems won’t make me love you any less then I already do, and trust me I love you a insane amount” Isaac states simply which makes me flush hard, and pulls a laugh out of Isaac.

“ Thank you Isaac” I say hugging him tightly, “anytime baby” Isaac says hugging me just as hard, we pull back a bit and Isaac cups my cheek gently and kisses me deeply and I kiss him back with just as much passion and the kiss quickly because heated and we start to make out, Isaac breaks the kiss and lightly presses kisses all down my neck drawing little sighs out of me which pulls a smile to his face, “I have missed you” He says his voice in a husky tone from all the heavy kisses as he kisses my neck one last time, and pulls me back into him.

“ soo is jealous Y/N a thing now??” Isaac asks with a smug look on his face, “what are you talking about Isaac? I wasn’t jealous” I say stubbornly when I know I fully was, “mhmmm are you sure baby cause I’m pretty sure multiple people have told me they have caught you shooting daggers at Grace” Isaac says attempting to hold in his laughter but failing miserably, I look at Isaac appalled which makes him laugh harder “ was I actually?” I ask feeling bad about what I did to Grace,l mean sure I was jealous of how much time she was spending with Isaac, but she is a sweet girl and didn’t deserve that, “ Don’t worry tomorrow is our last study session, since I am also sitting that test tomorrow, so you can apologize then” Isaac said once again reading my like book. “We should probably go now” Isaac says getting up from my bed, “ go? Wait where are we going? I ask in confusion. “My house of course I can’t show up without you there, cause she won’t kill my whilst your there” Isaac says bravely and I slap his head at his words and he flinches, even though Isaac is only a softy for you he still has his jerk moments, “geez Y/N I was only joking, I just wanted us to finally be able to spend some time together” I blush from realization at his words.

Let’s just say Katherine wasn’t too mad when she found out why Isaac was skipping, a ‘hopeless romantic’ is what she called him, if someone told me a few years ago that Isaac Garcia was a hopeless romantic I would probably wouldn’t believe you.

Just finished watching ‘My Life with the Walter Boys’ and I have some thoughts:

- I can tell I’m too old to watch this shit bc the weird love triangle with two brothers just gave me the ick.

- Jackie was edging on Bella Swan territory but she was nice and actually had some ambition beyond being obsessed with a boy so she was slightly better. Still like nearly every other character in the show more than her though.

- Also they gave my girl the most ugly boring name - Jackie Howard? Really?

- I wanted to see more of both Nathan and Danny, such sweethearts. Also if there is a season 2 - Danny and Erin pls!!!!

- WHY DIDN’T WE GET TO SEE THE PLAY?!

- Nathan and Skylar, adorable but how Skylar resisted those huge blue eyes for so long is anyone’s guess.

- Alex was a bit of a whiney little bitch but Cole was INSUFFERABLE. Why did he do literally anything he did? He was an asshole who nearly redeemed himself before stripping it all away at the end.

- Cole ruining his mums speech is what made him unforgivable for me, what a tool.

- Felt sorry for his friend too even though he was kind of an asshole, he was obviously just trying to cling onto their friendship and Cole just didn’t seem to care much.

- Basically Cole is a selfish asshole who isn’t nearly as deep as he thinks he is.

- Kiley deserves the world, Alex doesn’t deserve to even make direct eye contact with you sweetie, he has no taste. JUSTICE FOR KILEY!

- Tara also deserved better than that teacher guy.

- Loved Grace as well, she reminded me of myself at that age.

- If there’s a season 2 my girl Erin will become my favourite character I know it. She’s not quite the ‘bitchy cheerleader with a secret heart of gold’ character I love, but she was getting there.

- Love Katherine. And George is HOT!

"When I was six, me and my mom went to live with mom's brother, my uncle and aunt. They had a daughter and a son, Melody and Skylar.

Melody was younger and more timid than me. I gradually realised that Melody was almost like a puppet to her parents. They gave all their focus on Skylar. Which would make sense since he was a kid then. But they took it too far.

They would never try to discipline Skylar. It was clear her parents had a soft spot for him. Skylar understood that very clearly and would abuse that."

You sighed, remembering what used to happen in that household.

"Skylar would scream and hit Melody whenever he wanted and if we as much as raised our voice on him, he would cry endlessly in front of his mom like we hit him brutally. Before you say anything, he would only do that whenever his parents were around to hear, so that little shit knew what he was doing.

And of course his mom would believe him every fucking time. So since I couldn't make him behave, the best course of action was to lock myself up in my room so he couldn't get in and cause trouble for me."

"That sounds horrible...." Charlie gasped.

"That's not the end of it." You sadly smiled. "I haven't even told you why I'm hated."

"I hated how they treated Melody from the bottom of my heart. I would speak up for her since she couldn't.

She would often seek refuge in me and stay in my room away from everyone. I read her my different storybooks, showed her my favourite shows and shared my experiences. Gradually she began to think for herself. She began to stand up for herself. Her parents hated that.

They blamed me for corrupting their sweet child with my venomous company. They were mad they couldn't control Melody like before.

Their scolding and hitting got worse from then. There were times we would stay locked in my room for hours while her mom kept shouting all shitty things she could say about me. She even told Melody, A child, to live with me instead of them if she liked me that much."

"Please tell me you guys did something about that later..." Vaggie almost pleaded.

"When things got worse and I couldn't take it anymore, I finally told my mom one day after she got home from work. I didn't want to tell her at first before cause I didn't want to make her worry. My mom and aunt had a huge argument then. Later finally, we rented a small house for ourselves."

'But what happened to Melody?' Angel quickly asked and Charlie translated it just as fast. Everyone had the same question in their mind.

"She...stayed back. I asked her to come with me but she smiled and shook her head. She said she wanted to stay and make that place better."

'Ya gotta hand it to the kid. She had some real guts to stay in a family like that'

You nodded at what Husk said after Vaggie translated it.

"She really had. We did get to see each other from time to time in our family gatherings and such and kept in contact through texting and calling sometimes. But I'm glad to say our bond ever wavered no matter how long we are away from each other "

You said with a small smile looking at everyone.

"Melody has learned to be her own person since I left despite still being in those harsh conditions. And even after all this time, I've never gotten close to her parents for this reason."

You finally finished talking and looked at them for their reactions. Charlie almost immediately tackled you into a hug.

"I knew you were great person! Thank you thank you thank you!"

"Thanks for what Charlie?"

"Nothing don't worry about it!"

Charlie was relieved that you were actually a good person. She doesn't have to feel guilty for defending you. She hugged you tighter in happiness almost choking you.

"C-charlie, can't breathe-"

"Oh sorry sorry"

She quickly let you go and smiled brightly at you. "You're a nice person (Y/n)." Vaggie gave you soft smile.

Everyone in the room was thinking the same thing. The earlier suspicion on you vanishing in an instant.

"Yeah well anyways" you scratched your neck while blushing from all this attention you're getting plus seeing all their eyes on you. "We should eat dinner and go to sleep. I plan on going shopping tomorrow. I want Charlie, Vaggie and Niffty accompanying me since they turned human."

"We get to hang around in the human world?" Niffty said excitedly. You chuckled noticing her enthusiasm.

"Yes you can plus we'll be doing job hunting for you guys. We don't know how long it'll take to find a job so we should start searching from tomorrow "

"Awesome!"

With that, you all slowly went around cooking while chatting, making jabs at one another. Angel was almost thrown into a cooking pot by accident but Charlie noticed it immediately. Other then that, everything was fine.

After sleeping again in previous positions, you woke up to Vaggie calling you this time. You smiled at her and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

After you finished,you went to the kitchen to see Charlie cooking this time with her tongue out a bit upwards as she was flipping pancakes very carefully. It was honestly quite adorable to watch. Vaggie was about to call you but you put a finger on your mouth, making Vaggie go quiet.

You slowly tiptoed behind Charlie making Vaggie look at you confused. Just as Charlie finished flipping a Pancake, you went 'Boo' in her ear playfully. But you didn't expect what happened.

Charlie let out a surprised yelp as she let go of the pan. A bright golden light engulfed her as something fell to the ground in a thud.

As the light disappeared, there was Charlie again, but in her sheep form.

'Oh no, oh no, oh nononono! I'm not getting stuck in this form again!'

She started to scream in panic with sheep sounds and ran around. Vaggie quickly tried running after her to try and calm her down. She picked up a very scared Charlie and held her close as you looked over with guilt.

"Hun calm down, breathe." Vaggie patted Charlie as she looked looked up at her girlfriend teary eyed. "Try to see if you can become human again okay?"

Charlie nodded and calmed her nerves as she tried to imagine herself as human again. After some time, a golden light engulfed her again as she again reappeared as human in Charlie's arms.

"Vaggie, I'm human again! I'm human!" She said shaking Vaggie. "Yes, I can see that...but what happened? Can we turn to our human and animal form at will?" Charlie shruged, not knowing. You came forward looking down.

"I'm really really sorry Charlie. I didn't mean for that to happen.." you said meekly.

"It's alright... It just gave me a little shock that's all" Charlie said nervously laughing. "But at least I turned back again."

'What happened? Why are you all looking so shaken?' Husk said stepping into the room alongside Angel and noticing the pair on the floor holding each other as well as you looking at them apologetically.

After Vaggie told him his eyes were wide open. 'Wait, no shit? That actually worked? Let me see if I can try.' Husk and Angel both tried to imagine themselves as humans but nothing happened. 'Guess it only works with those who already transformed..' Angel sighed.

"Make sure to let others know about this and oh-" Charlie's nose picked up a burning smell. "MY PANCAKES!" She quickly ran towards the pan to salvage the food before it's fully wasted.

You volunteered to eat the slightly burnt pancake as an apology and after that, it was time to go shopping. You, Charlie, Vaggie and Niffty all dressed up in your clothes. Vaggie gathered all the animals before going.

"I'm leaving my front door open in case you all need something. But for this reason, I'll need you all to stay close to the house as well to guard it." You said looking at all of them.

"Especially you Alastor, you're the only one that can do something if a burglar comes by." Since you saw how Alastor could fight even in this form in the woods, he was the best option.

'Yes, yes, I know you can't do anything without me. You girls can go ahead without worry. I'll keep watch." Alastor said in a bored tone but inside he was fuming with pride that you relied on him the most.

"Now then, we shouldn't take too much time. Be safe you guys. You're free to go." With that you went to get the car ready as your three companions waited patiently.

Sir Pentious was about to slither back to the cabin but stopped seeing Cherri head towards your car. Being confused he quickly followed her. Cherri jumped into the car's open trunk while you weren't looking and Pentious did the same.

'Misss Cherri what are you doing here? We're supposed to be back at the cabin!' Pentious whisper shouted.

'Wha- Hey what the fuck man. Don't creep up on me like that!' Cherri was a little spooked seeing Pentious behind her. She thought she was being discreet.

'And I'm going to the town with them! I can't wait till I've transformed see what the world is like now since I'm the last. So I'm hitching a ride!'

'But isn't thiss a bad idea? What if sssomeone sees uss?'

'Oh quit your yapping. You can leave if you want.'

But he could not even if wanted since the trunk closed on them followed by the car starting. Cherri had a grin on her face and Pentious had a look of worry.

Niffty decided to sit next to you on the car and Charlie and Vaggie sat behind. While driving, you started some songs for everyone to enjoy.

All three of them were enjoying the sight of human world as they were practically glued to their windows. Especially Charlie since she spent her entire life in hell. Even though they went outside in your cabin, it was nothing compared to driving through various places like this. The sight of them made the corners of your lips turn up.

"By the way Niffty, did you get any powers like us?" Vaggie asked suddenly remembering.

"Not really, no. Me and mr.Alastor tried really hard to see if I had any type of powers but nothing worked." Niffty answered while her eyes were still glued to the window. "But I can turn into a dog again at will now!"

"I see..oh and (Y/n). Can I request something..?" Vaggie asked sheepishly.

"Hm,yes? What is it?"

"Can I get some glasses? I think my eye sight has lessened.."

"Oh yes sure! We'll get your eyes checked then!"

Finally you reached your place. You parked the car and you three finally stepped outside. Suddenly Niffty started sniffing the air with her ears moving.

"Niffty? What's wrong?" Charlie asked concerned. Niffty didn't answer as she stepped behind the trunk and opened it.

"Uh-huh! Found you! I knew I heard some weird sounds coming from the back!"

"What? Who's there?" You went to stand beside Niffty and found Pentious and Cherri red handed.

You quickly pulled the hood down and looked around see if anyone was starting at you. Having a squirrel was fine but people might report you to the police if they saw you have a snake in your car, thinking you're a poacher. And the worst thing is they'll take him away to who knows where.

"What the fuck are you guys doing here? You guys should be at the cabin!" You hissed through your teeth at them.

'What? Taking a stroll couldn't hurt! Plus this dumbass followed me here himself.' Cherri said looking at Pentious. 'I wass only trying to ssee what you were doing!'

You sighed. You couldn't leave them both here. Who knows what they'll start doing if they're left alone. You don't want to have any more trouble in your hands. Rummaging through the car, you found a big shopping bag that you usually use for groceries.

"Jump in here and not a single peek from either of you got it?" You said holding the bag in front of them.

'Got it!' Cherri grinned as she jumped inside and Pentious followed. You gave the bag to Niffty.

"Niffty can I ask you to take care of this bag? Make sure none of them peeks their head out of try to come out okay?" You requested her with worry. "Can you do that for me?"

"Mam,Yes Mam! I'll make sure of that!" She copied military style and gave you a salute making you chuckle a bit.

"I'll hold onto that then"

After that was over, you guys went to buy foods and two extra mattresses for now. Then you guys went to buy clothes. They didn't buy much since they could just wear your clothes for the most part as you suggested and bought personal items. You'll have to spend more money on the boys clothes when they turn human. And finally on Vaggie's glasses.

After a successful trip, you four bought some ice creams as you headed towards your car. Cherri did try to sneak out a couple of times but Niffty made sure she couldn't. Some people on the street thought the three of them were cosplaying and wanted to take selfies  but you quickly declined.

You also collected some informations on the places looking to hire right now. You decided to sort through them later. You led them through a shortcut to reach the parking lot faster. You spent more time than you planned on getting sucked in the fun hanging out with them.

All in all it was a successful shopping trip. That was until you turned a corner while walking and bumped into someone making you spill your ice cream over them.

"I'm sorry! I'm so so sorry!" You quickly yelled out looking at the shirt that now had a stain and some bits of ice cream falling to the ground from the shirt.

"Oi look where you're going bitch!" The guy yelled out pushing you away from him. You would fall to the floor if Vaggie didn't catch you in time. "Careful!" She yelled out.

As the guy started to come closer Charlie moved in front of you defensively. "She said sorry already! So please stop this!" She pleaded as you stood up again.

"Fuck no. That bitch ruined my shirt and now she'll have to pay for it!" The guy shoved Charlie aside and grabbed your collar making you look at his face.

Niffty was standing behind Vaggie still holding onto the bag as the scene transpired in from of her. She started growling unknowningly as she took a step ahead.

Sir Pentious and Cherri were listening to everything that was transpiring outside.

'Shit, something very bad is happening outside!' Cherri said looking a bit nervous.

'It sounds like (Y/n) is in trouble..' Pentious said as they both peeked out of the bag just as you were grabbed by your collar.

'(Y/n) no..I can't let anything happen to her!' Pentious said as he jumped out of the bag. Niffty finally noticed him. "Pentious you're not supposed to be out!"

'She helped us all these time, fed us, took care of us. The least I can do is protect in danger!'

His body began to grow bright yellow. Vaggie who was about to jump onto the guy, stopped and looked behind her.

The man's disgusting breath hit your nose like a tornado. He raised one hand to hit you as you quickly prepared yourself to defend. But a hand came from behind you, catching the attackers raised one.

"I don't think it's in proper manner to hit a lady."

adam seems like the type of guy to say ‘lmao’ out loud like “L-M-A-O” when he hears something funny

chase and adam used to race each other up the rock wall in the lab when they were kids, and whoever got to the top first would get first dibs on the xbox

whenever bree gets into a heated rant she starts talking so fast that she ends up being completely incomprehensible. and when she's done with the rant, she'll say, "well, thanks for listening," and chase or adam or leo (or whoever) will just awkwardly nod because they have no idea what she said lmao

Leon’s plans were far from what was currently happening, The poor guy was just trying to go on a tour around San Francisco but instead he was stuck in alcatraz fighting off the undead becoming infected & even uninfected and when he was told to grab the antidote to stop all of this mess he ran into you which was an even bigger pain in his ass.

You see, when you were In the technological area of the prison so was Leon & when you were standing across from him in the room his heart was already preparing to jump out of his chest, You two had multiple encounters on past missions that it even had a small fling between you guys but you couldn’t let him too close as you felt the fear of being heartbroken by the man who was your first love, first fuck & first everything so you cut ties with Leon before things got too ‘serious’ and clearly there was still that little spark between you both as you felt a small twang in your chest making direct eye contact with his blue eyes.

You couldn’t handle the tension or distraction that was stopping you from getting what you needed for Umbrella since they wanted to test this virus on multiple people like experiment subjects, the silence was loud & all the two of you heard were technical wires sparking and faint noises from some freakish monster fighting Jill so you cut the memories short & finally spoke up “You done reminiscing on the past yet” “As done as you are, what the hell are you doing here?” Your eyebrow perked up a bit as he held the gun attached to the belt of his jeans “I think you already know why i’m here Leon so let’s make those easy and start handing me the goddamn antidote” “Not happening doll, You know what happened last time you pulled one of these stunts.��� You scoffed before stretching your arms “Fine you want to make this difficult and hurt your fragile ego we can play that game.”

Immediately as you started sprinting towards Leon he picked you up and practically body slammed you onto the floor but that still didn’t stop you from anything, you tugged on his hair and lifted both your legs and quickly wrapping them around his head putting his face in an area he was VERY familiar with & very much so missed but that’s for a later discussion, You flipped him over to where you were not on top and quickly got up but much to your demise he didn’t give up, he stood up and tried slamming you against a wall but you acted fast and held on multiple wires hanging from the ceiling and started swinging back & forth enough that you kicked him in the face “Son of a bitch!” You Snickered at his pain as he landed on a technical board while you jumped onto the ground and grabbed a random pole about to hit him with it but he held up his wrists against the pole causing it to bend “Why do you choose to make my life more- fuck!- more difficult than it already is sweetheart!”

You glared at him as he used one of his pet-names for you as a verbal weapon, he knew exactly what he did with that name and he knew it would hurt you in a place of your heart that you locked up & shoved away, “why do you choose to get in the way of MY job leon?” He smirked as he pushed you back as you attempted to hit him one more time “Because you’re so in love with me beautiful” You hated the way he spoke to you with sarcasm sometimes but you knew it was true, You were unexceptionally in love with him despite your split up & you hated it with your entire soul, “Just give up the act sweetheart you know your not gonna get what you want.” He warned as you kept trying to get swings at him but would fail miserably because of his dodges that he learned from training many years ago

After 30 more minutes of endless fighting you eventually gave up, both of you sat across from each other in two separate corners breathing heavily & sweat running down your guys’ face eventually leon broke the silence with a heavy sigh “Why do you do this to me Angel? You know how much you make my heart hurt when I see you so why do you do it?” You refused to acknowledge what he was saying to you so eventually he got annoyed and crawled his way towards you & almost placed a hand on your knee but you quickly pressed your high heel boot against his forehead & lightly pushed him back to where he sat on his stomach sighing “Sweetheart why did you leave? was it something I did back then I just don’t get it? What did I do?” You became irritated with his nagging for answers so eventually you fessed up. “It wasn’t You Leon. I think you know that by now. I was scared of you breaking my heart at some point so I prevented it from happening by dumping you before you could do it to me.”

Leon looked at you with sympathetic eyes while sitting up and moved your leg out of the way to cup your face into his hands while he hummed softly “You know that I would have never left you right? No matter how fucked up your little mind is I find it extremely fucking attractive to the point where I even bought you an engagement ring doll.” You rolled your eyes trying to move your head out of his grasp but he didn’t budge, “Yeah right, I highly doubt tha-“ “It’s true sweetness, I even have it in my wallet to this day after all of those years.” You watched him move one of his hands off of your face and digging into the pocket of his pants and pulling out a wallet he still somehow had on him & fishing out a ting that was slowly starting to show off how old it was getting & placed it into the palm of your hand “You know I never lie Doll face.”

You felt your breath hitch slightly but you gave the ring back to him and just around that time a guy as buff as leon but with short brown hair busted through the doors “Goddamnit Leon where the fuck have you been! You kept ignoring him, just as you got to make the machinery work the creature had slammed of its tentacles on the area you & leon were currently located causing you to fall down & hang onto a piece of metal while Leon was slammed against a wall “SOMEBODY FUCKING HELP ME?” You saw Leon quickly spring up and run directly towards you while Chris got ahold of a large rocket launcher & continuously blow up the creature wreaking havoc on everybody, You hear Claire shout something out towards Jill & Rebecca run towards You & Leon to help him grab you as he was slowly sliding off of the platform, Leon quickly grabbed onto your hand dragging you back up causing him & Rebecca To fall backwards while you rolled onto the side as you groaned loudly after just now realizing there was a deep gash in your side & due to you quickly loosing blood you passed out.

I love the recent ask about MC making people instantly regret thinking they are an easy target.

Now I have a vivid mental image of my MC Kitty getting her purse stolen, chasing after the thief in high heels tackling them like a line backer, then proceeding to beat them to a pulp.

I'm curious about how the various charcacters, including Uncle Luka, Jackle, and Grandfather, would react to witnessing such a scene?

Especially since it would be unusual for Kitty of all people to have such a violent reaction to a petty theft. Sure, anyone would be upset by being robbed like that, but Kitty is normally so polite and sweet. She wouldn't give someone a concussion and a couple of broken ribs just because they took a vintage designer handbag and some cash and credit cards. Hell, she was in the middle of asking the thief if they were okay when they first bumped into her until she realized they grabbed her purse.

Cue Kitty hugged the damaged purse to her chest near tears because the stolen purse used to belong to her grandmother, and now she's feeling guilty for overreacting and possibly ruining Baba Alina's purse.

"I should have just used my Gravikinesis to stop them and take it back, but it was Baba Alina's favorite purse! Now it's all bloody, and the strap is broken, and I can just hear her scolding me for doing something so unlady like in public and getting my clothes dirty..."

I feel like Ash and Skylar would immediately bolt after the thief too (and maybe your MC as well).

Ash might be a bit surprised to see the usually non-violent MC react in this way, but honestly, they feel a bit satisfied to see the thief getting what they deserve, but not on how the purse accidentally getting ruined. They'll try to comfort MC the best way they can, especially knowing that the purse meant a lot.

Skylar would be surprised as well and ask MC to chill. But after checking and making sure that the thief is not grievously wounded, they'll offer to go shopping for new purses with MC (and offer to pay for them, but I'm not sure how much that matters for MC 😂).

Santana and Rin would be caught off guard and would catch up to MC when MC have tackled the thief to the ground.

For Santana, it depends on whether they are on duty that day or not, but if they are, they'd arrest the thief immediately after making sure they don't need any medical care beforehand. If they are not, then they'd call 911 and wait at the scene until the first responder arrives. They'll also lend support to MC, giving them a hug probably or patting their back.

For Rin, they're definitely also a little bit surprised at the usually friendly and polite MC resort to such violence, but after learning of the purse's origin, they can totally understand and would convince MC that it's not an overreaction. They'd definitely try to find and buy the exact same purse no matter what--or at least try to find a good luxury handbags restoration place in hopes that they can fix it.

Luka probably has the best chance to actually catch the thief because of his blink/teleport ability. But seeing the usually calm MC getting riled up like that... He's a bit worried but also he understands the reaction. Just like Rin, he'll try to find someplace to restore their mother's purse, but he would also try to assure MC that Baba Alina would understand and that it's definitely the thief's fault, not MC's.

Grandpa might also be able to stop the thief in place with his Compel ability. He'd be a bit relieved and proud to see that his grandchild is still capable of doing a lil bit of violence to defend themself. It's a shame the purse gets ruined though... He still remembers buying it for Alina years ago. But the purse would be replaceable, although not the sentimental value. Despite his own feelings about the purse, he'd still reassure MC that their grandma would understand and that there's no use or need to blame themself.

Jackal would definitely go after the thief as well and he's a pretty fast guy. Funny thing is, Jackal can actually get the blood out of the purse, but the broken strap though... Unfortunately, he can't sew to save his life 🤣 But hey, you know, at least there's no blood on the purse now and we know that's one of the hardest things to get off.

"No Sexy men at our summer pool party" Cole, Kai, Jay and Zane solemnly say in unison, earning strange looks from everyone that overheard.

Nya gives her brother an appalled look, "what? What the heck are you guys on about?"

The boys quickly repeat themselves with the same sad tone, "no sexy men at our summer pool party." They all look say and dejected.

They've now caught Lloyd's attention, Lloyd laughing and deciding to make a joke rather than trying to understand whatever he's overhearing, "aw...does that mean I'm not allowed to go?" He giggles to himself.

The four boys respond by now giving him an appalled look. Kai finally says something other than their quote about summer pool parties and sexy men, "Lloyd, you would be one of the few people allowed at the no sexy men summer pool party." Lloyd rolls his eyes in response, huffing and interjecting with, "well I think I'm sexy!" In a childish tone.

Everyone groans in response.

Nya then inquires, "so, who are the sexy men not allowed at the summer pool party?" She quickly follows up with, "it's certainly not any of you." Giggling under he breath after.

Kai gives her a glare, "it is us! We're the sexy men not allowed at the summer pool party!" Kai says in an aggregated manner.

Joining back in the conversation, having gotten over the earlier insult, Lloyd replies to Kai's comment, "why would you make a rule that uninvites yourself from your pool party?" Lloyd is now just judging the poor decision making skills evident in his friends.

Jay responds this time saying, "well, it's not our summer pool party! Skylar is planning it and that's one of her rules.."

Nya snickers at that, laughing as she speaks, "you guys think you're the sexy men that aren't invited?" She continues to giggle.

Kai looks offended, loudly stating, "I am so a sexy man!"

Lloyd, who'd been holding back his laughter finally breaks, laughing loudly and falling to the ground. "Oh my god!! Oh my gooodness! Holy! Fuck! Hahahaha!" Lloyd laughs loudly, receiving a glare from Kai.

Jay then makes a cute face at Nya, "you think I'm one of the sexy men she was talking about, right?" He bats his eyelashes at her cutely. Nya laughs, "oh yeah, real sexy ahaha!" She continues to laugh, "I'm sure you guys are totally who she had in mind!" Tears now forming in her eyes from her stifled laughter.

Jay and Kai just look defeated now, bowing their heads and looking as if they were kicked puppies. Zane was already over it a little while ago, just smirking, finding the interaction he'd just watched amusing, giggling a little, planning to tell PIXEL as soon as he sees her.

Cole goes over to Kai patting him on the back, "if it makes you feel any better I still think you're sexy.." Kai turns his head, glaring at Cole. Cole smiles at him awkwardly before continuing to rub Kai's back gently, walking him away from Lloyd and Nya who were still laughing.

Nya's trying to comfort Jay and his bruised ego but she can't bring herself to stop laughing so she's rubbing his back and laughing, trying not to make eye contact with her sad lover. Jay just accepts the back rubs, still feeling a little dejected but he'll get over it.

Lloyd just continues to lay on the floor, laughing loudly, trying to form a half baked apology for anyone still listening to him, however failing miserably as his laughter drowns out his attempts at speaking. Zane gives Lloyd a gentle look, checking to make sure he's okay. Lloyd look at Zane, giving him a thumbs up and continuing to laugh. Zane shakes his head with a smirk, walking off to find PIXEL.
