i’m a neet aspirant (2025) in her 12th grade, i kinda wasted my 11th and didn’t quite focus on neet prep so now im tryna catch up. 🎀

i made this blog to help me hold myself accountable and document my journey in the last few months of prep before my exam + rant about life 🧸

i chose medicals since i love science and i aspire to be a genetic scientist someday but let’s see how that goes. 🧬

interests / hobbies : reading - i love classicals and books related to science 🌸 art - i draw and paint (watercolours) 🌸 writing - i like to write poetry and snippets 🌸 im also a major coffee enthusiast and cannot function without it anymore 🌸 i play football too (state level) and i like running a lot (away from my problems) 🌸 i also love learning about space (im weak at math so i only stick to knowing fun facts) 🌸 and have a keen interest in marine biology 🌸 i do like learning new languages (i’ve learned german, french, korean and japanese but i’ve forgotten most of them because i stopped practicing them) 🌸 i also love watching medical shows and animes. 🌸

goals : to be extremely educated 🌼 learn a shit ton of languages 🌼 and mainly to get a medical seat in my first attempt 🌼 to read a million books 🌼

i try to post my to-do list everyday with constant updates and you’ll see a lot of ranting, cribbing, crying.

my name's emily, i'm 26, and i'm a third year english literature student! i'm originally from scotland, but i'm currently in my second semester of a year abroad in new zealand! i've had this blog for about six months and i'm hoping to use it a bit more intentionally and post more consistently this semester 😊

this semester i'm taking three english modules and one classics module:

🧛‍♂️ irish-scots gothic: this is definitely my favourite so far! i loveee gothic literature and the texts for this class are super fun

🏝 māori & pacific lit: this seems interesting but it's the first year this course has been run so you can tell the lecturers are still finding their feet a little

📜 poetic revolt: i think this class has the potential to be the most educational if i engage with it properly as i'm not super into poetry or experimental/avant-garde forms of literature

🏺 graeco-roman myth: this class deals a lot with the psychology behind myth, which is a way i haven't looked at it before, although i have studied classics in the past

I sadly, do not live the aesthetic vibes most on studyblr seem to. It's an ideal I strive for, but my main focus is on the actual learning part... For my career, I hope to work as a museum conservator/museum tech or as archivist! I am passionate about preserving history, both human and not, and learning from them.

I got through highschool with ADHD fueled half-assing it, purely out of a tendency to procrastinate and avoid anything stressful. I did well in school, but those last threeish years were mostly me desperately trying to drag my brain into behaving. Not to mention my junior year being fully online thanks to COVID! I actually have very little memory of that year in general. (Thanks, memory issues.) Frankly, the only reason I didn't fail half of my classes was because of the amazing team of staff and teachers that worked with me to get me through school.

All this to say, I have always genuinely loved learning and even parts of school itself! I have very strong interests in a variety of topics, from animals to mythology to fashion and history! It's just the fact that I never developed the study skills needed to fully succeed in school. As long as I did well on tests and exams, I was happy.

But! No more! Through power of will, studyblr, college resources, and my IEP I am going to achieve my dreams! Woo!

As a stay-at-home mom of one, I'm thrilled for this opportunity to expand my skills. I've always loved learning new things, whether it's knitting, gardening, or coding. Now I get to take my self-education to the next level!

this is the third iteration of my introduction to the studyblr community because life got in the way twice before (I went to a different country for two months and saw so many cats it was crazy) and completely stopped posting both times lol

but now everything has settled into a routine (so far. not to jinx it or anything-) and I'm ready to return :D

I am officially a university student! no one is more surprised than me, trust me, but I'm here, a fledgling compsci engineering student, and I'm very happy about it!
