It's funny that the “dead siblings” aspect of Edelgard's backstory manages to, in spite of how under-developed and under-written it is, be so wildly contradictory that the only way for it to make any sense with the rest of what we know about her past is to assume that she made all that up in order to gain sympathy points from Byleth; it's almost certainly not what the writers intended, and i don't doubt for a second that Hopes contradicts that theory somewhere, but whatever makes Fódlan make more sense.

Then what, they were all hiding or partying very far away, when their sister became Emperor, over Hans 2's claim? Seriously?

I don't really understand the obsession the devs had with making Adrestia a muddled mumbo jumbo -

we are told Ionius tried to centralise power on itself, the lolcalisation tried to erase it but we're in 2023 : Ionius wanted to get rid of the consort kin system, women feel like they can't inherit a thing, the Emperor (at least the one during the Southern Church incident) takes very badly any "revolts" and get rid heirs he doesn't like, personally appoints people, Ionius erased Hyrm (to the last blood descendant!) and sent his army and funky mages to Ordelia - outside of Adrestia!

Some nobles like to hear young women "sing" and if they can't pay for "singing lessons" they will pay for young men instead.

Adrestian Nobles, unlike their northern barbarian counterparts, stay holed up in their capital, and rarely return to their duchies/lands/territories.

The devs, from this, tried to paint a land where corruption is rampant, a sort of epitome of decadence complete with ASOIAF's "if you need to say you're the king chances are no one thinks you are the king" with Ionius's bids to centralise power on himself, in a nutshell : this Adrestia is rotten, the decadent version of the one sang about in praises or mentionned in old legends.

And yet, even if they describe the land as completely bonkers and everyone more or less is in for their own hide... Adrestian Nobles, the very same ones we're told hired Doro to hear her song, cannot be depicted too badly, because, hey, we're working with them.

Sure, we don't hear Leopold and Waldemar went to the brothel - i mean to the Opera - to hear popular young songstresses sing. But Leopold'n'Waldemar were depicted as corrupt nobles, only in for their money or own gain as the reason why they sided with Aegir to get rid of Ionius, and from what we know of Leopold, he wasn't picking roses and daisies in Brigid too.

And yet, because they magically became allies of Supreme Leader, all the issues that could be laid at the feet of Imperial Nobles, especially theirs as the most important nobles of them all, are... absent.

No one ever asks Leopold'n'Waldemar were are the other imperial children, or why they betrayed Ionius. No mention of Leopold, the Minister of War and a seasoned fighter, having personally trained Hans 2 or maybe acknowledging his talents as a warrior - or lack of compared to Supreme Leader's, no, nothing.

Asking Leopold why Caspar isn't his heir, even if he doesn't have a crest, since he shown great abilities to fight? No, never.

In the end, we see those crap nobles, but we never tell anything or do anything with them. Ionius was yeeted away in Nopes (maybe because including Ionius in the story, who was betrayed by Leopold'n'Waldemar, wouldn't have worked with the idea of making them Supreme Leader's allies) and Aegir is never given any voice to the chapter, or when he is, it's to be a living retcon - he wanted to take part, just like Leopold'n'Waldemar, in Supreme Leader's MAGA war, when he rebelled against Ionius who centralised power on himself? To MAGA? - because nothing should "taint" our vision of the heroine.

FE16 already teased Supreme Leader's version of the Insurrection being horse dung when Hanneman told Hubert he doesn't know what Vestra Sr rebelled, and how Vestra Sr rebelled because there was something, rather, someone, more important to him than eons of loyalty to the Hresvelg family.

Is it the same "reason" that made Arundel, when he was still Volkhard, put his niece to safety - in the kingdom !!! - with her mother, before being Slithered.

Those clues, complete with the Ferdie paralogue in SS - of course unavailable in CF - reveal that while Ludwig is a piece of slime, he isn't the piece of slime depicted by Supreme Leader (that'd be her Uncle) ; hell, all of Ludwig's actions (both in that paralogue and the experiments on the Hresvelg kids) were done by Thales, with Ludwig as his scapegoat.

So why? What is the truth behind the Insurrection, and behind Ludwig's role?

Is Adrestia deliberately "opaque" to make "the world look deeper" than it is, or because it's supposed to imply Mole People slithering around made the thing "way too complicated"?

Or is it because the more we learn about Adrestia - and what led to Ionius being deposed - the more we realise Supreme Leader's words are, at best, misguided, at worst, straight out lies?

But in the process of "muddling" everything, coherence and consistency was sacrificed, Hans 2 disappeared and the plot dgaf - heck people don't know what happened to the other imperial children, and no one every bats an eye at this, especially since the Emperor was not the first, nor the second in line (and Supreme Leader isn't supposed to be like Ashnard who might fed people who ask those questions to Rajaion, or just straight out tell them the truth before laughing).

I still believe they exist, but since Jugdral, the FE series had issues writing "missing royal siblings" having any signification to the plot - bar being a late hour "Falchion with legs" - even if I HC that Julia isn't killed when her unit dies in the 2nd gen because the Imperial Army recognises her and captures her to return her to Arvis (they rescue her from those Isaachian barbarians!)

And yet, again, compared to Glen, Hans 2's absence stings, and it's, again, an example of coherence and logic being sacrificed for the sake of parasocial relationships.

You want me to get canceled so bad-- If I speak-- But idk, I guess I'll say the controversial opinions I can say publicly without a bunch of people coming at me!

Zo$an is a bit... Overrated? And by overrated I mean extremely/annoyingly overrated. I like the ship and its canon dynamic but I think at least 80% of the fandom portrays them in a very mischaracterized way. Not to say that... The ship is literally everywhere and the shippers always look for every little thing to prove they're canon, even if the "proof" has literally nothing to do with them. It's not that I don't enjoy the ship (although I must admit I prefer other dynamics a lot more) I just can't stand shippers that go to extremes. It's funny because I think Zo$an's dynamic is way more interesting and romantic in canon than it will ever be in the fandom. It's a bit sad, ngl. I liked them a lot at first but it got so tiring and now I am pretty exhausted from seeing it everywhere. The people force it to be more than it is when the canon is already pretty fucking great.

Adding to the Zo$san thing. I think that relationship would only work if Luffy is there somehow but it wouldn't last a day without him in the relationship. Unless there's like, a ton of character development most of these people don't make them go through.

One Piece Film Z is my worst enemy. It's such a boring movie. The only good thing is the soundtrack and maybe the suits but God watching that was torture.

I mean, I get why the joke about her being in love with Luffy might be annoying, but I think most of you need to learn to understand that Oda's sense of humor is sometimes a bit too exaggerated (and not funny) and it has basically nothing to do with the actual canon dynamics between characters. Not tagging anybody of course, but I saw this post with so many interactions of people agreeing about Sanji considering violence as a sign of love which??? Doesn't make sense at all?? OP said it was because he couldn't tell the difference between love/abuse because of his family, but that's just... Not accurate. That could only happen if they had manipulated him into thinking abuse is a type of love, but he had healthy love growing up. Even when he was with the Vinsmokes (Sora and Reiju, I love you). And yet OP said Sanji considered Pudding's behavior flirting (wrong) and that's why he let her attack him (nope) and that it was proof of Zo$an. And okay, it's not a hugely popular theory, but a lot of people agreed with it and it bothered me a lot because it's both out of character and also using Pudding (complex female character) once again to try and prove the canon of a ship (that doesn't have anything to do with WCI either???). It just bothers me. People can perceive the story however they want but... Y'know.

OPLA isn't that good. Or good at all? I only like it because I like the cast and it's funny seeing my blorbos irl. But the script is simple and dull and just stupid most of the time. The characters are either simplified, mischaracterized, or forgotten. And tbh most of the shots are very awful and could be a lot better. The directing is also nonexistent. It's 6/10 and 3 of those points are because both the Zolu and the cast.

Apparently this is a very common theory about Nami's origins, but, uh, I don't think we need to know? What else do you need to know about her? People say she's a lost princess or something like that as if we didn't have a lost princess already (Sanji ily). Repeating the same plot would be boring and underwhelming, but also? It'd be extremely useless for the plot and it'd go against everything about Nami's story and the way Luffy reacts to it.

Luffy isn't canon aroace. In fact, the reasoning people use for him being "coded" is the same Oda uses for Zoro too and Zoro is almost never portrayed as the "idiot who doesn't know what sex is" the way Luffy often is. If you're calling Luffy canon aroace for what Oda said about him being focused on adventures, the same goes for Zoro being focused on his dream. They could be coded arospec but there's nothing confirmed and the constant discourse about it is stupid. Attacking others because of their ships just because you don't agree with them and saying it's wrong using our identity to do it is very fucked up. Especially since most of the time people complaining aren't even aroace. The only reason people do it (attacking others saying they can't ship Luffy and that it's "weird" and "wrong") is that they infantilize Luffy/Don't want him getting in between their ships (<- aroace person writing this) (also, it's very ableist since people agree on Luffy also being neurodivergent coded and treating him like a kid bc of that but this isn't about that now).

Somehow this is very common. Some fucking how. I can't believe I have to say this. I'm tired of people blaming Usopp for what happened in Water 7. Or in general hating Usopp. Actually, he's one of the best-written characters in the whole show and he's so underappreciated it's so frustrating.

Sanji's perv jokes are annoying af and we all know that, but people who hate the character and consider him a red flag for that are missing the point completely. The point being "Oda exaggerates jokes to an annoying extent and most of the time they don't even reflect the character". I understand they can make you uncomfortable (same here tbh) but reducing Sanji to only those jokes is a waste of his character. You need to take jokes less seriously.

If I see one of these "red flag OP boys" TikToks adding Law/Ace/Zoro/Sanji next to fucking Doffy I will riot. Also, stop adding Crocodile there. He's a mafioso, there's NO way he won't be a sweetheart to his lover.

Baron Omatsuri's artstyle and animation is amazing and it fits the plot and aesthetic of the movie perfectly and people saying it's ugly will forever bother me.

People reduce Nami to her "mean"/"sarcastic" personality a lot when she's quite literally one of the most kind-hearted characters of all. That being said, morally speaking she's probably one of the worst. I could explain how that works but I don't want to do it now, the point is-- Let the girl be sweet instead of making her mean all the time. And also, let her be mean and selfish without making it her entire personality. There's something called "balance".

Film Red was kind of bad. Like, the songs are amazing (thanks, Ado) but the ending is awful and the plot is very meh. I'm only here for Uta and Shanks but the rest of the characters are just useless. I do appreciate Sanji's hair in the movie, though.

ngl i dont get this "yeah im a lesbian but i almost exclusively write for male characters". like im a lesbian too and dont get me wrong being completely honest many of my fave characters are dudes but like... i dont really get anything out of seeing them on sexual situations? especially if theyre on sexual situations with a reader self insert? like i get writing a lot of male smut for comissions since the market is probably bigger but like writing almost exclusively about men for free??? writing and imagining self insert porn with characters you arent in theory even attracted to on your own free time? whats the point? this just seems to go beyond the "lesbian with a guy blorbo" meme at this point

that's,,, sort of a valid question? i think it's a little hard to wrap your head around the differences between being attracted to a fictional idea of a person and a real, actual, living breathing dude and to be able to differentiate between attraction to gender and attraction to the baggage that gender comes with in general, so it's not like i can really blame you for asking.

i wouldn't really say i get anything out of the smut i write either, but i do like writing it, and there are a lot of male characters i genuinely adore because, although i do find men gross irl,,,, they don't behave like irl men? they don't have the same internalized behavioral patterns and socialization that turns me away from real men with real baggage, i guess? it helps that a lot of the games i play have prominently male casts, so that sorta helps to build a bias, too. that, paired with the fact that i respect women too much (real or fictional) to make them into feral little guys, which is not a problem i have my collection of male blorbos.

the plural community is so toxic. its also very confusing. its stressful, its mentally draining. (note:this rant is not anti endo, even though it seems like it. i just dont like the black-and-white dogmatic structure of the plural community.)

i dont like how the plural community is so divided. and how theres so many stereotypes in it encouraged and/or created by the plural community itself. the anti endo side is all about negativity and gatekeeping. they dont like when systems love their alters, would miss their alters, are friends with some of their alters, do activities in the innerworld or real world with their alters, have shenanigans with their alters, have plenty of fictives or celeb or friend factives, dont have abuser factives, dont dissociate severely all the time, or anything seen as "cringe" especially according to systemscringe. then you have the pro endos and endos themselves who spread positivity, are for systems loving and being friends with their alters, and realize not every system has dissociation all the time and some DID systems dont even dissociate more than half of the time. but some pro endos have also said DID and osdd can develop without trauma if the person is just naturally dissociative enough and that DID and osdd develop from being naturally highly dissociative instead of trauma (when really DID and osdd develop from disorganized attachment/emotional trauma according to the theory of structural dissociation.) ive been downvoted and called out for saying DID and osdd can only develop from trauma. and i usually dont fakeclaim people but sometimes peoples alters are just cringe I wonder if they're faking and usually its bc of the anti endo standard but i saw a system have an alter that was supposed to cutesey up autism even more, a tbh creature alter with aw/tism pronouns. i got the ick. they are endos btw. i hate how anti endos make it seem like if youre a "real" DID system you dissociate all the time severely. when the average DID system has a DES score of 48 (ill send the link) meaning the average DID system only dissociates a little less than half of the time. sure some dissociate a little more or a lot more than that, but anti endos are openly exaggerating symptoms and making an exclusionist environment based on what makes them feel valid. pro endos, meanwhile, literally go for anything. do you think DID and osdd develop without trauma? most pro endos seem okay with that. do you think its okay to create tulpas/willogenic systems to cope with trauma and call it traumagenic when its endogenic? pro endos are okay with that. do you have an alter that uses pronouns offensive to people with trauma (ive seen someone use rape/rapeself as pronouns in the endo community and murder victims and their families ive seen kill used as pronouns or disabilities like the aw/tism or wtv thing i saw? theyre ok with that too. pro endos are too lenient, theyre too scared to call out misinformation or even fakers because it might make the endogenic community as a whole look bad, when im ngl it already does. because of the whole "anti endo vs pro endo" the plural community looks like a joke or some dumb trend. both sides are toxic. anti endos spread hate and make unrealistic standards, but pro endos support anything and think people have the right to identify however they feel no matter how disrespectful it is to other people (like the "i created my system consciously so it didnt develop from trauma but because i created it to deal with trauma im traumagenic!" thing) im definitely not anti endo, but i also dont like what most of the pro endos ive seen support or let happen. basically the whole online plural community is exhausting and confusing. and it makes me wish i never knew i was plural.

Finished Alan Wake 2, it was awesome! The mystery was well done, they improved a lot on the first game's mechanics, the characters were fun and interesting, Casey and Saga lived!!! (and technically so did Alan? I think? Alice mentioned that the only ways out were destruction or ascention, and they were on the way to ascention, and the light bullet was from her. I'm glad her suicide wasn't real that one stung when I watched that video ngl lol 😭), I like how they actually did encorporate Alice's photography into the artistic creation powers aspect of the plot like I've wanted them to, and it's even hinted that she's actively working on saving Alan somehow (her light bullet being a part of that presumably), and I like how they pulled an inception style ending where we never actually get to see if Logan picks up when Saga calls her.

I thought it was funny how Alan was like "this is a horror story so for this to work the ending has to be dark, a price has to be paid by one of the heroes" and Saga's response was basically "well clearly Logan, Casey, and I will all survive and thrive. I've earned my happy ending and I won't take no for an answer." leaving Alan as the only option of the 2 heroes to pay the "price" lmao. Like I'm sure he woulda offered anyway and I don't think she was being callous so much as just trying to figure out a way to get her family (which includes Casey of course) out of this in-tact and unharmed, but it still made me laugh how blunt she was about it lol. Saga knew what she wanted and she was getting it, extremely valid. And Alan survived anyway, so like Saga said it's not the end of his story 👀. It's also possible that Saga has her own price to pay in some way, like maybe having to escape the Dark Place still?

There are still some plot threads left unaddressed that I find really interesting:

Odin and Tor went into the lake after Saga and technically her and Casey are still stuck in the dark place as far as I'm aware.

How did Rose get into the dark place, like was that really her there? And if so, how will she get out? Alan said he wasn't sending her messages but her knowledge was way too detailed for it to just be coincidence. Maybe Alice is the one sending her messages? Or maybe they're from the future and Alan hasn't sent them yet?

Wtf is going on with Thomas Zane and why do Ahti, Odin, and Tor keep calling Alan Tom? I keep wondering if maybe Scratch was actually a corrupted Tom who's merged with the Dark Presence or something? But half the time Ahti is calling Alan Tom is before he technically gets possessed.

I theorized in the past that Ahti was the owner of the Oldest House, and someone brought up a good counter theory that Ahti IS the house, as in a projected avatar of its will, which is also very possible. But Alan Wake 2 might possibly contradict that if Ahti is able to leave the house and do stuff outside it and fuck around with other phenomena, which I don't think the house itself would be able to do? Though I could be wrong. So maybe he is the owner of the House and that allows him to leave it and use it to get places normal people can't get to? I know part of Ahti's nature is to be mysterious lol but it's fun to speculate.

Who is Warlin Door and what is his deal??? It sounds like he has a similar thing going on with Saga with both their family lines having special abilities, where Andersons are seers and Doors can travel across/through worlds/dimensions/spaces via their control over "doors". Thinking about it... Saga mentioned that her dad left before she could remember and Tor didn't like her dad for some reason and drove him away, and she used Door's page to figure out how to travel through the dark place. Possible connection there maybe? 👀 Door did mention that someone important to him was dragged into Alan's mess which was why Door got involved. Not to mention the nature of his disappearance. Maybe that someone was Saga. Maybe Tor's beef with him was some sorta blood feud thing between supernatural families. I'm sure we'll learn more about him in future games lol, they drew too much attention to him for him to just be a one-off character.

TIM! He's still stuck in the Dark Place too as far as I know, poor guy. Dunno why door dragged him there and left him there to vibe (maybe so he could give Saga that page when she actually needed it?), but the poor guy deserves freedom too lol.

Who was on the payphone with Saga in the Dark Place? Was it Alice? I feel like it was Alice.

Is the Oceanview Hotel related to the Oceanview Motel? They seem to serve very different purposes and have very different designs/vibes/uses aside from having those symbols on some of the doors, but the name can't be a coincidence. And if they are related, does that mean the Oceanview Motel is connected to Thomas Zane?

These aren't complaints or anything, I'm sure a lot of these points will be addressed in further sequels to either Alan Wake or Control. Hopefully that doesn't take another 13 years to happen this time 😂

I'll have to replay the game at some point because tragically I missed petting 2 deer heads apparently. I'm really tempted to replay Control again atm. The Alan Wake sequel definitely incorporated a lot more of the Control style vibes this time around lol, which I enjoyed a lot, and now I've got a hankering...

I was wondering on how/what you felt when finding yourself? I believe I am also within the aroace spectrum, but back in HS I kind of gaslight myself into “liking” someone when all my friends would tease/push me into believing it as well? And the thought of actually being intimate with said person disgusted me, even when I imaged it to be someone else? (Not like they were hideous or anything, but the thought of being intimate with an irl person makes me uncomfortable even though fictional stuff is fine)

Oh! No, this isn’t pushing boundaries whatsoever!

I kind of did the same thing back in HS. When my friends would talk abt their active sex lives or of sexual pleasure, I felt confused as to why I never felt interested in doing it. It got to the point where I, too, tried to gaslight myself .

What made me realize that I was Asexual was when I didn’t enjoy the idea of physically having sex. In theory, it sounds funky and cool and I can make the raunchiest most nastiest smut that my friends have ever read. But in practice, it makes me uncomfortable and I feel sick. It confused me and it didn’t help that a lot of people would say those annoying ass comments. “You haven’t met the right one” or “you’ll feel it eventually.” And may the gods forbid every time I had someone say that “something isn’t right” or “you’re not normal” or something akin to that. It’s what had me panic and even get insecure my being.

I came to terms to it after I had found out one of my friends was Aromantic. They gave me a major pep talk and even told me that sexual attraction and romantic attraction are different. Which was the one thing that worried because I do experience romantic feelings but never understood why I never had sexual feelings. Honestly, I’m still thankful for him even if we don’t talk as much anymore.

Figuring out I was Demiromantic was easier than finding out I was ace. It takes me years to like someone— I had a crush on my best friend but it only formed after knowing them for four years. And that’s how most of my crushes went! With a lot of searching, I found out I was considered Demiromantic as the closest term and felt happy with it! Granted, I had the sad experience of my father stating that it’s a made up and not real but… that’s a him issue. Not mine.

Finding what you identify with is a long journey that can even stay until you pass. Either way, you’re completely valid for how you feel and you’re most definitely not alone. Just remember that in the end you’re still you no matter what!

I wasn’t fully in terms with who I was until last year ngl. It took me so long to accept that I was in the aroace spectrum because I was conditioned into believing those are what I should— need, even— to feel. It’s not. You aren’t obligated to feel romantic attraction or sexual attraction. Both of those do not need to be evident within your life whatsoever and that’s completely fine.

It does sound like you’re pretty deep in the aroace spectrum! Which is valid! Don’t ever force yourself to be in a relationship bc then it’s already toxic before it even started. “If it costs you your peace, it’s too expensive” as I tend to say.

Just remember; you’re you and that’s amazing. There’s only one you out there and you should wear it with pride. If someone does something, don’t hesitate to use spite as your fuel! So long as it doesn’t consume you :)

Fuck part 4 was so good! I genuinely felt the tears starting to leave my eyes towards the end! It started out relatively nice/bittersweet with her visiting him and him basically calling his love for her!?? Ngl sometimes I find it a bit off when ppl refer to sex as “making love” but this time I didn’t even feel off! Him referring to love and saying OUT LOUD was just a shock for me bc he’s so sensitive and emotional I love him so much 😭 and yes he expresses it more but I’m pretty sure we all know that y/n is feeling deep things too! I don’t remember the exact line but it was him talking about how he hoped the underwear left a mark on him just like she left a mark on his heart, that detail you added was so beautiful 💔 and now you the end of this part omg like yeah it was more likely for y/n to break it off first but damm this HURT! Her reasons are completely valid and in theory it’s the most logical way from coming back from what they did but it sucks bc they both deserve to be In healthy loving relationships yet how they came together wasn’t exactly ideal. I love them and I want them to be happy 😭 BUT I trust you and your brain bc you’re extremely talented and I absolutely adore this series and it’s one of my faves of yours, definitely top 5! Thank you I loved part 4!!!!

Logan listened to the other's stories with great interest, everyone finding the term that fits for them in their own way. In Emile's case he was even questioning for years before he found a label that sat right with him.

He had to admit it was quite… inspiring, and a bit comforting if he's being honest, to hear others struggling with this when he originally felt like he was alone in his confusion.

He wonders… Can sharing his own experience  be beneficial in easing his guilt? It's a theory worth testing, afterall, there are numerous studies that show how talking about things to a willing ear can help with processing emotions better.

He nodded decidedly to himself, fixing his glasses before raising his hand to catch Patton's attention.

"Hey there, fellow glasses wearer." Patton smiled at him. "Wanna go up next?" 

"Indeed." He confirmed as he stood up.

"Well then, the floor's yours buddy!" Patton stepped aside from the center, giving Logan space to stand and face everyone.

"I do not wish to own this floor, but I am willing to share my own experience." He cleared his throat, fixed his tie and started his story…

"Good morning sleepy-head."

Logan blinked as his mind regained awareness of his surroundings, rubbing his eyes and reaching for his glasses before putting them on and bringing everything into focus.

"Morning" he said simply as he tossed the covers and started getting dressed.

"How'd you sleep? I had a great time last night!" Fred smiled at him from the doorway to the bedroom.

"I slept well, thank you for asking. Last night was indeed quite pleasurable." Logan agreed, slipping his arms into the sleeves of his suit jacket and buttoning it up.

He noticed Fred has gone quiet and looked at him from the corner of his eye, noticing he's staring at him.

Fred noticed him looking and blushed. "Sorry you're just… really pretty."

"Oh um… thank you, you're quite attractive yourself." Logan said as he reached for his tie.

"Oh, let me help you with that, here." Fred walked over taking Logan's tie and standing before him. They locked eyes for a moment before Fred looked down to tie it around Logan's neck.

"You know I… I think I'll like seeing you again." Fred said hesitantly, tightening the knot and smoothing the tie when he's done.

"Are you saying you would like to copulate again?" Logan asked blantly.

Fred flushed. "Um… yeah… amongst… other things…" he stepped away, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

Logan frowned. "Other things?"

Fred sighed. "I'm trying to ask you out on a date… I think I like you and… it'll be nice to know you better." He smiled hopefully at Logan.

Logan stared. "Oh… I…" he wanted to say yes, he did enjoy himself last night and Fred was attractive but… he just couldn't see them going farther, he didn't feel interested in being with Fred in that sense..  but how can he convey that without hurting him?

"Fred." Logan started.

Fred looked up at him hopefully "yeah?"

"I enjoyed myself greatly last night and I can tell you're a very nice guy. I do like the idea of us getting to know each other better just… not in a romantic sense, I apologize." He tried to explain in the nicest way possible.

Fred bit his lip. "Oh… I see. I obviously think you're nice too and in a different context being friends would be nice but… I just think it'll be weird ya know? After we… ya know…" he blushed again at the recollection of last night's events.

He didn't sound too hurt so that's a good sign. "Well then, in that case, it seems our ways will be departing today." Logan said, reaching out his hand for Fred to shake.

Fred stared at the hand then snorted. "Are you always this formal with your hook ups?" He asked jokingly but shook his hand anyway. "Oh ah and…" he walked out of the bedroom for a few minutes before returning with a piece of paper he handed to Logan. "Here's my number in case you change your mind about the dating thing." He winked.

Logan gave him a half smile, taking the phone number and putting it in his pocket. Fred walked him to the door and they waved each other goodbye before he walked out and closed the door behind him.

"You did what?" His brother demanded when he finished telling him about this morning.

Logan frowned. "Did I do something wrong?"

His brother stared at him in disbelief. "Wow, okay, let me walk you through what you told me."

"I don't see how walking will help-"

"Just… shut up, listen for a minute. You met a cute and attractive guy who's nice and thinks you're cute too. You hooked up with him, so far so good. Then, in the morning after he asks you out on a date because he wants to get to know you better and he might be developing feelings for you…. And you friend zone him? Have you lost your mind?!" His brother said in disbelief.

Logan's confusion deepened. " 'friend zone him'?"

His brother just groaned in frustration, shaking his head. "You're hopeless bro, why didn't you just say yes?"

"Because I wasn't interested… I don't understand, was I supposed to lie about the way I felt?" Logan tried to understand why his brother was so upset by this

"It's just one date, Lo-bro, how do you know you're not interested if you haven't even given the poor guy a chance?" His brother asked pointedly.

"I just… didn't see him in a romantic sense." Logan shrugged.

"You said you found him attractive!" His brother countered.

"Physically attractive it has nothing to do with romantic feelings and interest, I don't see why this bothers you so much." Logan said truthfully.

His brother sighed. "Bro, how long since you lost your virginity?"

Logan frowned. "10 years? I don't see how this is related-"

"And how many romantic partners have you had since then?" He cut him off.

"None." Logan said. "I don't see how this is-"

"You see why I'm worried about you now?" His brother interjected again.

"Um… no? I don't think I see the issue you seem to see." Logan said honestly.

"Logan… eventually you're going to need to find someone to settle down with and… with the way you're currently handling it… I don't see it happening. I just don't want you to end up like aunt Rose." His brother took his hand and squeezed it gently.

"What's wrong with aunt Rose?" Logan asked, desperately trying to understand.

"Nothing, she's great… she's just over 50 and living alone, you don't want that, do you?" His brother said.

"I mean… maybe not but… is that really that bad? You don't have to be with someone to be happy and aunt Rose looks pretty happy to me." Logan countered.

"Look, I'm just trying to help you so here's what you're going to do, you're going to call Fred and tell him you changed your mind-"

"But-"

"Let me finish, you go on one date with him okay? Just one, see how it feels, if it's nah then just say so and you'll never have to see him again, and if it feels like it might be going somewhere then great! You found your first boyfriend! Deal?" His brother looked at him expectantly.

"I don't know about this, Chris… It feels too much like lying for me to be comfortable with it." Logan hesitated.

"You're gonna have to step out of your comfort zone at least a little if you want to find a boyfriend, bro. It's not like one is going to waltz into your house one day." Chris pointed out. "All I'm asking for is one date."

Logan sighed. "Okay."

"Logan! Over here!" Fred waved him over with a smile. "I was so glad you called to change your mind! A little surprised but very glad."

Logan swallowed, he can already tell this is not going to work… but then again, Chris might have a point… he is inexperienced in that regard so maybe he shouldn't judge the situation so quickly..  Besides, it's not like he can turn him down again before the date even started.

He took a deep breath and sat in front of Fred, managing a slight smile. "Yeah I figured it's worth giving this a chance of at least one date..  just to 'test the waters' as the saying goes. Though I'm very inexperienced so this still might not work out." Logan said truthfully.

Fred raised an eyebrow playfully. "One date to win you over? Alright, I'll accept that challenge." He smirked slightly.

Logan chuckled at Fred's charm, he is pretty fun to be around..  Maybe this night will go by well.

After they placed their orders they started conversating. "So what do you work at?" Fred asked curiously. "Wait, wait, lemme guess… you're a teacher! No wait… a lawyer! Eh… something that requires that big vocabulary of yours and those formal ties you wear." Fred chuckled.

Logan smiled. "Close, I'm a professor at the local university here. Nice job, pays well, and I get to educate and lecture people which I always enjoyed since I can remember. What about you?" Logan took a sip from his wine as he waited for Fred's response.

"A professor! Huh… somehow that makes you even hotter." Fred giggled. "My job isn't nearly as impressive… I just own a small bar not far from here." He shrugged.

Logan raised an eyebrow. "Owning your own business is quite the accomplishment, there are not many who will be able to achieve such a thing." 

Fred blushed at the compliment. "Oh… ah, thanks… it's just a bar… I just like making people happy, you know? Help them let loose for a while… everyone needs that from time to time."

Logan nodded. "Indeed they do. Do you happen to have any good wine there?" He asked with interest, perhaps he can pay this place a visit sometime.

Fred's face brightened as he nodded. "Oh yeah! We have almost every kind of alcohol you can think of! I like to appeal to as many people as possible so I…" Fred happily chatted about his bar, how he trains his bartenders in making almost any drink out there and even encouraging them to make up their own.

Logan smiled as he nodded through his rumblings, being with Fred just felt so easy and effortless… he desperately wished he could feel those romantic feelings everyone keeps telling him about so their relationship can work in a way that appealed to the both of them… but those stubbornly stayed out of reach.

Fred already mentioned his disinterest in a platonic connection with Logan after their sexual encounter, so if Logan can't recipicate his romantic feelings towards him… they'll have to say goodbye…

"...You should come and see it, drinks are on the house." Fred winked at him, reaching a hand to grab Logan's and gently rub over his knuckles with his thumb, looking up at him with a bright blush. "...Perhaps on our next date?" He asked hopefully.

And it was the morning after their copulating all over again… but somehow way worse, because now he cared about him even more and wanted to keep seeing him… just - frustratingly so - not romantically like he does.

"Um…" Logan hesitated, how can he turn him down now?

"I get this might be scary since it's your first time but… now I know I really like you, Logan and… we can take it slow okay?" Fred's hand was still holding his and he gave it a light squeeze, smiling softly.

"I'm sorry I-" the waiter suddenly arrived with their check and Logan quickly grabbed it before Fred had a chance, glad for the momentary distraction as he put the credit card inside and handed it back to the waiter.

Fred's hopeful eyes were still on him. Logan's heart ached as he opened his mouth to say no to this sweet guy he wishes he could fall in love with. "I'm really sorry I just don't-" the words got stuck in his throat.

The waiter handed his credit card back to him with a receipt and Logan quickly snatched it and stood up.

"Logan?" Fred frowned at him with concern.

He needed space… he needed to think… he can't think…

His breath quickened. "I'm just… really busy…" he stammered and he was bolting away from there before he even realized it, only stopping when his legs couldn't carry him anymore and he leaned on a nearby wall, panting heavily.

Logan didn't realize he was crying until Patton wiped his tears gently.

He backed away, embarrassed, furiously wiping his tears on his own. "I… I didn't have the courage to reach out to him again after that… he's probably better off without me anyway…" Logan struggled to finish the story and regain whatever little composure he had left.

"For the longest time I felt like I'm such a shallow 'jerk' who only likes people for their bodies I… I didn't know about… all the different kinds of attractions or how people can feel and not feel some of them… I didn't know what aromantic was or allosexual I just… felt broken and… guilty…" 

Logan took a deep, calming breath, skimming through the faces looking back at him. Patton rubbed his shoulders gently in a comforting gesture.

"Hey, it's okay, I promise. Like I keep saying, this stuff is very confusing, thank you so much for sharing." He smiled sweetly at him. "Do you want to go back to your seat? Drink some water?"

Logan took another deep breath and nodded, going over to the table with water bottles behind the circle and taking one before sitting back at his seat. Feeling emotionally worn but also… relieved.

He supposes his original theory was correct then, a fact that made him smile slightly as he awaited the next person to speak up.

you don't have to answer this if you're not comfortable, but as a fellow ex-jikooker (i've stopped for quite some time now), i've been scratching my head seeing some of the jikookers' posts since the past week. they've been bombarding the jimin tag and gods i wish i can just unsee some things. i can't believe i've been a shipper like them before. that i liked their posts, theories, all that shit.

don't get me wrong some of their points are valid and jikook could still be real, but the way these people operate now is such a downgrade. there has to be a connection in everything when there is nothing to connect. they've romanticized everything that can be romanticized under the sun. most of them has no questions and did not even call out the differential treatment. it's pathetic.

there's this group of jikookers that i never particularly liked too. i eventually unfollowed them in the middle of my shipper journey. they've been acting all high and mighty in these spaces—as if they're better than anyone around. they're condescending too. they need to get off their high horses for real because who do they think they are? no wonder dogpiling has been happening in the jikook bubble for some time now.

tbf there still are sane jikookers left who are rational and are brave to raise points. that's a good sight to see. i've seen some who totally stopped shipping too, and that's good for them.

for me, going out of the shipping bubble is a relief. it's like i can finally breathe better. yes i get melancholic once in a while because i miss enjoying jikook's bond but i can't appreciate them anymore like i used to. and now that we've witnessed the promos, ugly feelings just intensified and come out every time i see them again. i can't stand the other half anymore. but it's all good and i've been coping. i've been wanting to leave for a while now anyway.

Ngl, to me it actually feel so good after getting out of shipping. I'm kinda embarrassed too that I used to believe those theories even the one which sounded very delusional because I was looking from my shipper glasses.

Now that the glasses are broken, I can finally see the reality. And now when I look at their posts (which literally fills the whole jimin tag) I just can't help but laugh and think "How come I used to even believe all this?" lol.

Jikookers think that everything is rainbow and sunshine. Or maybe they pretend to think that while ignoring everything that is actually going on. They can't seem to understand that just because they're so deep in a ship, it doesn't mean that other people can't get over the shipping culture.

Like some people have brain which they use to question when things aren't looking right. I don't look at things like we're in some movie. When I was a jikooker I was very torn and confused about what was happening.

And then I began to put jikook's situation in real life. And I realized that if I was in jimin's place and something like this happened with me and my boyfriend, and if my bf acted like jk is acting, I would be so fucking angry and would instantly break up with him.

And if I was in jungkook's place then I would feel so guilty I wouldn't even be able to look my bf in the eyes. And I definitely wouldn't act so arrogant like jk is acting these days.

So yeah that's when I stopped being a shipper. I just can't bring myself to like jungkook at all.

The world must be crumbling around them but jikookers wouldn't care as long as jm and jk look at each other for 0.5 seconds.

Like they are so out of touch with reality it's actually funny.

And you must've have noticed that as more and more unfairness btw the treatment is increasing, as jk is getting more and more fame hungry, these jikookers are getting more and more delusional.

Oh, my god, okay. Out of the top of my head, there's this one I think about every once in a while in So, what was your name again? of this person that said they were at work and went to the bathroom to read the final chapter and I guess it baffled me a little because I was already surprised that people liked that one so much, but then it was a little bit of the... a real person, who was at work, decided to not wait to read this thing I wrote and even went somewhere to have privacy to read it??? Unreal.

Tinglecannon’s comments are always such a delight to read! Those are the kind of comments that make me able to look back at what I wrote when I’m feeling embarrassed or self-conscious. 

In general, I love when people start rambling in the comments, haha, like either pointing out parts they liked or theorizing when it comes to multichapters or just generally talking their heart out, I think it’s very fun! I do treasure all comments tho, I try to answer everything I get because it just makes me so happy to know someone took the time to even just type “<3″. It might take a few seconds, but those are a few seconds they actively chose to dedicate to leaving something and it’s such a nice thing. 

✍️ What’s your ideal writing setup?

Ngl, I had to google this to make sure I got the meaning right.

Okay, I had typed a response but now I see it says "ideal", so that's different. I don't know, as long as somewhere is comfortable and quiet, I think I would be fine? Having a computer that doesn't freeze every once in a while would probably help too.

👓 What helps you focus when you write?

Silence! I do use music as inspiration, but not when I'm actually writing, just during brainstorming and all of that. Knowing I'm not going to get interrupted also helps, so I mostly write at night or early in the morning when everyone else is sleeping.

... If I've been stalling for too long despite having the wish to write, I usually use that one Discord bot that's like "you have 15 minutes to write and then you have to tell me your word count to know how much you wrote". It's in theory to write with other people, but it helps because I just can't disappoint this little bot that has no self awareness to be disappointed in me, can I?

🥳 Why did you start writing fanfic?

For fun! There isn't much more to it, I used to write fanfic and draw little fan comics of the Lord of the Rings for fun with my siblings when I was small. We didn't know fanworks were a thing, but even when I started finally "officially" writing fanfics, it was a lot of "hey, I just want to have some fun here".

🌻 How often do you read your own fics?

Not often at all! Once I've finished and posted something, I do tend to reread it once or twice, but outside of that, I mostly reread what I wrote if someone leaves a comment about this or that part. It's a bit like "really? was it truly good? 😊". It's the validation that breaks the embarrassment askjfhkjsdg

📗 Do you want to write something outside of fanfiction? If so, what about?

Not really. I used to when I was a kid, but honestly, I don't think I have the kind of disposition required, haha. I'm happy writing fanfics, so it's not like something I regret, I would be quite content if I only ever write fics.

I think I wrote a fairy tale once tho? As a gift for a friend, but I didn't keep any copy, so I don't even remember what it was about, it was a LONG time ago.

timelines / time loop / time travel sort of theories seem very reach-y, ngl. and it sounds like casual fandom theories that ppl come up with because they cannot come up with anything else at some point. like the theories like ''everything was actually a game / dream'' sort of theories that fandoms like to pull. other times they just interst time related stuff as theories.

I was of that opinion when I first heard the time theories, but after actually reading some evidence I opened up to the idea. there are some amazingly eagle eyed folks on here who've spent a lot of time laying it all out and are constantly discovering more. there's just too much to write off, imo. it's not a bored fandom asspull due to having nothing else to come up with, it's based on actual things that are presented to us on the screen.

a lot of the evidence being blink-and-you-miss-it doesn't mean it's not valid, it means they aren't spoon feeding it to you. if you want to disregard it then.. okay! watch the show however it's fun for you!

I do think there's something here, and it's just fiction and I'm having fun. when 5 finally drops and we find out the truth about everything, I would rather have spent our last hiatus having fun even if I turned out to be wrong.
