Random Mouse Algorithm
The 'Random Mouse Algorithm' is the best maze solving algorithm in the universe. It uses less memory than other wasteful pathfinding algorithms like 'Breadth First Search' and 'A-star'. Since it picks a random node at every junction.
So there is no need for complicated containers like queues and stacks. The only downside, it's very slow… But it's guaranteed to find the goal (or cheese) eventually! It also won't find you the shortest path, but there is nothing wrong with taking the scenic route 🐭🧀

I don't usually post my rambles on tumblr (main) anymore, but haven't found a link click discord server to spam my thoughts in so here we go!
BRIDON BRAINROT IN CHRONO ORDER
Disclaimer: I made most of these in the middle of watching the season. Might've immediately been disproven from some evidence from episodes straight after, and updated it in real time.
LG's nightmare in episode 4 suggests there might not have been an overarching missing persons case in previous timelines. And supports the theory that the twins are newly introduced variables.
2. LG's logical deduction seems to operate under the assumption that he is the only party with the means to influence small changes in the timeline.
The wording of "things related to him" suggests LG is referring to Vein. So I see it as LG being fixated on Vein as a threat, and not registering LX -- who Vein seems to be working for, or Shao Yuanyuan, who is also affecting time to defy an unchangeable node.
3. LG seemed like he was being loosy-goosy with how accurately he would recreate the past.
I think this season shows us LG's development from approaching his "save CXS" goal without a clear MO, to learning how to utilise his abilities to create butterfly effects to achieve the desired result. Which involves more gambling and educated guesswork than he'd admit. The pokemon learns adaptive planning. I think my initial theory abt it being LG's 1st attempt diving back to the very beginning isn't entirely off -- I think he's off his game because he's not used to being this far back in the timeline. I think every time CXS died, he'd use his ability to dive back to weeks or months before.
4. LG seems to reciprocate the intense words a CXS echoed to LG long ago in the high school flashback ver of events.
I operate under the belief that that s1e5 flashback is LG's, and it's the original events of their first meeting. The CXS in this flashback seems comfortably forward in regarding LG as a long term partner (in that context, it seems to take place right after their first basketball game together).
Notably, there was a theory I saw that suggested this CXS was possessed by a future him -- not about to tackle that here. What observations I can make are that b4 LG made any promises, Bridon!CXS wasn't going out of his way to get closer to LG, it's mainly third parties and circumstances drawing them together.
CXS isn't the one reaching out to him when LG happens to pass the studio a couple months after that first meeting -- QL invites him
Evidently they're not that close, w/ CXS pulling the safe dudebro "hey you can come w/ me to check out the hottie" offer when he's enlisted to photograph the popular cosplayer of their uni's anime club
And he asks about and absorbs the club president's treatment of LG to gain more insight into him outside of physical activity. Still feeling out how to act w/ him
It's during the anime convention -- where he and QL learn abt LG's "divination skills" and witness those skills help Shen Miaomiao -- that CXS becomes more confident in imposing his will on LG
We get a time gap of at least a couple days, and CXS has now gotten used to having LG around as a free pair of hands. And he learns that with enough cajoling, anime club leader-style, LG will reliably fold to help him
Then, of course, LG helping him through the date, and then coming to save him when he gets kidnapped by loan sharks. When Vivian threatened LG's safety, CXS promised murder, and he prioritised LG's safety over securing Vivian's safety, so he was already very attached by that point
These events display CXS's character very well. Coming from a background of being ostracised and isolated by others, he's not openly looking for deeper connections beyond the fragile home he's maintained in the studio and w/ QL. As inviting and friendly as he seems, he's adamantly not one to impose himself on others, and was plenty content having fair-weather friends that seem to go to him for favours (the audacity of that Zhou Xun, I swear).
So where does the CXS from LG's flashback come from with such boldness? Where does this "good partners in the future" sentiment come from when Bridon!CXS needed a near-death experience to express that he begun to regard LG so fondly that he's scared of him disappearing?
5. Someone in that class used their ability to disrupt CXS and LG's telepathic link momentarily.
My money's on CWM cuz I think it'd make sense that after that random kid in the bg smiles at WQ cheating, he would approach her because of that act (and not that silly moment where CXS creates that mirror device to cheat that last question).
Also, LG seemed unfazed* by this incident, so it might be another blind spot for him; feeding my theory that LG is legitimately in the dark about everything to do with CXS's parents.

6. LG deciding this very moment the sacrifice he's willing to make once he "confronts" Vein.
7. Xia Fei def got some Bahati fire trauma locked in there or sth. I wonder if he has a power, and what power it'd be...
Also, why Vein would ask a question in that phrasing is beyond me. Is it like a "you didn't have anything to do with that fire, did you?" line? I mean, my first thoughts are if WQ knew Vein's real name, could that mean Vein was also in Bahati? Then I think abt how apparently Vein doesn't have powers (confirmed in an interview?) Then I wonder what's in it for Vein when he's helping LX get CWM's book.
Thoughts spiralling. Too much unknown variables. Can't compute.
8. CXS's first confrontation with reality
Reality being that LG is a savage lil shitster who'll tease him relentlessly even if CXS feels he's in an overwhelming or stressful situation. I also like to think LG did this cuz CXS seemed too flattered by Vein indirectly complimenting his appearance.

9. LG's mild expression... Resigned resolve, or detached acceptance? Why not both.
10. LG and Vein's back and forth exchange
For a guy who mastered keeping a straight face, it seems his eyes tend to give him away. Also I take it that LG is already beginning his plan, he's initiating conversation to get Vein talking -- revealing his clear disdain for him by asking why he lingers. Both give a non-answer to the other's questioning. Vein seems unfazed and rather amused by LG though.
Then with this question, I think answering the detective is a very sensible option -- if anyone ends up benefiting from the forest burning, it is the detective who's being compensated. Vein wouldn't be this enthusiastic over that. It's pragmatic and predictable in these types of story settings.
I think if LG were to engage with this question under a traditional clinical setting where he's safe to unload his feelings -- he'd take to the detective being the culprit.
11. Shao Yuanyuan did the "disrupt time to save my s/o" first
I'm thrown off by the line "If someone gets in, the timespace will be disrupted." At first, I assumed she meant if another person interrupts the timeline; i.e. LG. But she never specifies what she sought to do when she came to this time period to meet CXS, and apparently save CWM. It seemed whatever she sought to do is pre-destined to fail? Vein seems to interrupt in previous timelines, if LG's ability to plan around that indicates anything.
Another thing to note. As far as we know, she doesn't have someone like LG to cover her bases like CXS does. She seems to disregard hiding her personality from anyone -- so taking precaution for the safety of the possessed subjects doesn't seem to be a priority for her. All that matters is doing and achieving what she sets out to do. And if it's a miss, she'll facilitate other means through connections perhaps.
12. LG's speech to Vein seems very honest
LG villain monologued so hard, it only makes sense that he did so because he was very certain that he was speaking to a dead man. His last remark of "I hope we won't meet again" carries a tone of "I hope I won't have to dive back and meet you again" to me. Cuz LG has been in a reflective state for that whole episode (aside from the cute modelling montage).
The way he words it was very confusing, I had to type up the dialogue to digest it better. But LG basically says "I've been trying to figure out how to prevent CXS's death, but then I asked myself. What if his murderer was taken out of the picture? No need to fear the change. Just embrace it."
Implying that the reason LG fears deviation is point blank because deviation risks CXS's death being harder to prevent -- because he can't plan around unknown variables. But if such a deviation was for the purpose of eliminating a definite catalyst altogether, then he doesn't give a fuck.
I think after putting himself at ease with the belief that Vein has been eliminated -- this is when he's in S1, and is arguably less stressed and not forcing himself up flights of stairs to make sure events are recreated perfectly.
Everything should be hunky-dory, he knows most of the S1 events aren't lethal. That's why we can see 'Daily Life of Lightime' episodes -- LG thinks CXS's death node has been delayed at the very least.
"The future may not change due to a ripple of the past. Right now, I still don't believe I can come back here to change the past"
The Future: CXS's death a ripple of the past: killing Vein Right now: From LG's learned understanding change the past: sever CXS's death node
"All I want is to be with them and head to a new future. Because I know this is the last time."
a new future: a future that feels real. a future filled with hope. the last time: last time LG will be able to predict events. since he's locking in on letting paths deviate.
LG still has that jaded belief that things are hopeless. But he always chooses to chase after hope.
OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS POST-BRIDON CLARITY
Not like I can answer these questions rn, but maybe someone can! I'm up for suggestions!
Is SYY aware of LG’s interference with the time space? What could clue her in?
Is SYY’s secret she tells to CXS sth LG would already know abt?
Is LG aware of SYY’s exploits and influence as another time traveller?
Did Vein actually die in the Bridon arc or only by technicality?
What is the significance of Jack going missing alongside Xia Fei?
Is Bridon Arc seriously meant to be in the same timeline as S1 and S2?
In Bridon Arc, Shiguang meet in uni instead of s1e5’s high school backstory. Could this suggest that LG has spaced out checkpoints for opportunities to meet CXS between high school to uni (maybe even beyond)?
How does WQ's powers work?
How did CXS dive in and out of a photo to shield LG? The photo that was in front of LG was out of CXS's line of sight.
What did stalling Vein do to guarantee his death in LG's (usually paranoid) eyes?
Why does LX have a phone that read 2024 in it? What powers does this man have?
The director said someone in Bridon would actually die. Who would this be referring to? Was Vein's fake death actually fake? Or was he actually killed, but resurrected?
I think there's more to say, but I'll prolly reblog this post with more observations cuz this one's long as is. If there's anything I've missed or mistaken, leave your thoughts!

(as im writing this the amount of money has already went up to 34k. holy hell.)
its interesting to me as well that the game's version of special attacks charge bar is a "node meter"! another one for the computer/internet references

Pathfinding tutorial: Exploring a node graph using depth first search whilst searching for a goal point.
The depth first search algorithm will explore the first node it finds and continue picking the first connected node until it either finds the goal or runs into a dead end. At which point it will backtrack and pick the next unexplored node. It will continue doing this until the goal is found or every node is explored.

where would be a good place to go to find people to play Eureka with? have any communities popped up yet? any online game sites have support?
There’s two places where Eureka fans congregate: The A.N.I.M. Patreon Discord Server, and the A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club.
A.N.I.M. ourselves are not currently going out of our way to organize any public Eureka campaigns, but don’t lose hope. Eureka is a frequent winner in the TTRPG Book Club, and will be up for vote as soon as we’re done with Triangle Agency.
You can also just come play in either of these servers. They both have sections set aside for organizing one’s own games, and since almost every big Eureka fan is in one or both of them, if you propose a game of Eureka I’m sure you’ll get a few bites.
To join the A.N.I.M. Patreon Discord Server, you just need to subscribe to our patreon for $1/month or more and you’ll automatically be invited. This is where most discussion of Eureka happens, we’re talking about it almost every day in there. We also recently had a playtest in there for one of our other in-development games, Silk&Dagger. If you want to participate in official play tests of A.N.I.M. games, that’s the place to be, although we don’t hold them often just because we are busy actually making the games. There will be official playtests of new Eureka adventure modules some time in the future though.
The A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club is a discord server for pretty much all TTRPGs except D&D5e and Pathfinder. Games are nominated, then voted on, and everyone* reads and plays the winning game. We sort people into groups based on compatible schedules, so it’s very schedule-flexible.
*not literally everyone, participation in the playing is not mandatory, you can just hang out and discuss games if you want.
There is also a side section in the book club for playing whatever you want whenever you want, so if you want to organize a game of Eureka and don’t want to subscribe to the patreon, this is the place to go. There’s a lot of people itching to play Eureka in there, so you’re sure to get some takers.

As for VTTs, no VTTs that i know of have support for Eureka yet, but in the rare occasion that you actually need a node or grid map for Eureka, it's pretty easy to make one on TableTop Simulator or just draw one out.

At time of writing, Kerbal Space Program 1 is on sale for $10 on Steam.
If you have wanted to buy KSP and have never gotten around to it, now would be a good time.
Despite the failure and cancellation of KSP2, KSP1 is still a really great game. I bought it for 18 dollars in 2012, and it remains one of my favorite games of all time and perhaps the most cost effective game purchase I've ever made.
KSP1's development is completely finished, but the modding scene is still going strong.
The DLCs are also available for half price. Here's my thoughts on them:
Making History: adds historical-themed rocket parts in new size categories, and a mission editor that allows you to design mission plans and share them for other players to fly. I do not recommend this one, because the rocket parts have been done better by free mods, and because no one ever ended up using the mission editor since those missions are walled off in their own scenarios and can't be integrated into a normal game.
Breaking Ground: adds sparse rocks and other ground scatters to the surface of planets to be explored by rovers. Much more interestingly, adds robotic parts which can totally change the kinds of vehicles and crafts you can build. I do recommend this, because the addition of robotic parts adds so much to the game.
But the real goodies are in unofficial mods. Here's my absolute must-haves:
Restock: The rocket parts in the stock game are a mix of different styles by different amateur artists who have worked on the game over the years, lacking an overall cohesive style. Restock reskins (but otherwise does not modify) all of the stock parts using new models and textures that bring a cohesive visual identity to KSP that it has sorely missed. The models are higher fidelity in most cases, but they have been made efficiently so that the game will actually run and load faster and smoother with Restock than without it. (Github)
Restock Plus adds a few other parts in the same style to round out some missing parts, and if you do not have Making History, it will add its own versions of those parts for free (and with better game balance, in my opinion). (Github)
Scatterer: Replaces the archaic stock atmosphere rendering from 2011 with an accurate simulation of rayleigh scattering, vastly improving the look of planets both in space and on the surface. (Github)
KSP Community Fixes: Bug fixes and quality of life tweaks, especially useful in light of KSP's development being discontinued. (Github)
Some tips (below the cut)
KSP allows you to build rockets almost lego style out of modular parts. The game does include a few tutorials which I do recommend you try (imperfect though they are), but here's a few other helpful tips:
there are two ways to attach parts: node attach (connecting parts via those green and black spheres that appear when you're holding a part) and surface attach (connecting parts where your mouse is). If a part can be surface attached, it will always prioritize that over node attach. So if you're trying to put together a rocket tank and the tank keeps trying to attach to the other tank wrong, you have to change your camera angle so that the nodes can come together without your mouse going over the part. The alternative is to hold the ALT key, which will force the part to attach only to a node.
The C key and the X key control angle snap and symmetry mode. There's also buttons for these on the lower left of the u.i. Symmetry is a must for building rockets.
There's three main types of engines: Liquid Fuel rocket engines, which require separate fuel tank parts burning Liquid Fuel and Oxidizer, Solid Rocket Boosters, which contain their own fuel and can not use fuel tanks or be throttled, and Jet Engines, which burn liquid fuel and atmospheric oxygen from air intakes, at a high efficiency.
There's also the ion engine, which uses electricity for power and xenon gas as a propellant for extremely high efficiency and extremely low thrust, the nuclear thermal rocket, which uses an onboard nuclear reactor to heat up liquid fuel propellant for high efficiency and low thrust, and monopropellant RCS, which are steering thrusters that use monopropellant tanks shared between all stages. There's also a single 'normal' engine that burns monopropellant, the Puff.
At a first approximation the game uses real orbital mechanics. To get to space, you just have to go straight up above 70 kilometers. To stay in space, you must enter orbit, which means your sideways velocity has to be somewhere around 2500 meters per second so as you fall you curve around the planet. The M key brings up the map mode, showing you your trajectory. It'll also show you if your orbit intersects the planet, and you can mouse over Ap (your apoapsis, the farthest distance in your orbit) or Pe (your periapsis, the closest approach in your orbit) to see if they are above 70 kilometers.
At first approximation the game uses real rocket science. The more fuel you add, the more fuel you're wasting to carry that fuel. Staging (detaching tanks and engines when they're no longer needed) using decouplers is a must. Parachutes are also a must if you want to preserve the lives of your Kerbals, but remember. This game is realistic. Parachutes will not work on airless bodies like the Mun, and they may not be enough on their own on martian planets like Duna which have only thin atmospheres.
Career mode is kinda... not very well made? I would start with Science Mode. The tech tree will kind of ease you into building with limited parts. But you can always jump right into sandbox mode.
Rocket parts come in a few diameters sizes: 0.625m, 1.25m, 1.875m, 2.5m, 3.75m, and 5m. In addition, there are 1.25m (mk1), diamond-shaped 1.25x2.5 (mk2), and roughly 3.75m (mk3) spaceplane parts. The aerodynamics and structure works out best when same diameter parts are connected together. There are adapter parts to facilitate this, as well as fairings (procedurally shaped aerodynamic casings) and engine plates if you need to get around this.
Turn on Advanced Tweakables in the settings. This will allow you to right click on parts and select "rigid attachment", and to use "autostrut", both of which are necessary for making rockets behave. (you could try and use strut parts, but that can bloat your part count and often times it isnt clear how to even attach a strut in the direction you need) This is one of my least favorite parts of KSP, as this is pretty tedious for a large rocket, but it's necessary to keep it from flopping around. For some reason KSP's developers thought that floppy rockets (even when they should be perfectly rigid), would be more fun. The idea comes from the early days of the game, when the conventional wisdom was "if it moves and it shouldn't, add struts; if it doesn't move and it should, add more boosters." The game has gotten a lot more complicated now, and that design philosophy should have been left in 2012. There's also a mod, Kerbal Joint Reinforcement, that will provide this functionality without needing autostrut and rigid attachment per part.
On efficient launches, you're going to end up looking like you're burning up. This is a limitation of the 1/10th scale planets in KSP, and how that plays with the 7/8ths scale atmospheres. During a real launch as well as an efficient KSP launch, you'll end up travelling at 1500-2000 m/s in the upper atmosphere, but in the real world that's only a fraction of orbital velocity. In KSP, that is near orbital velocity, and so the game is balanced to assume you're in reentry conditions. If you have fairings to protect sensitive parts of your ship, you should be fine.
KSP's small scale makes Apollo's Lunar Orbit Rendezvous approach inefficient for the Mun and Minmus. It's actually cheaper to just directly land on the surface. This can be fixed by installing a rescale mod such as Sigma Dimensions, and setting it to 2.5 rescale and resize, and 1.6 rotation period scale. This makes delta-v 1.6 times larger than stock KSP, resulting in more realistic proportioned rockets. The game honestly isn't any harder in this state, it just needs somewhat bigger rockets. All that aside, the "Apollo style" orbital rendezvous approach works great for all other planets, since interplanetary transfer requires more fuel as do most planetary landings. This approach has two spacecrafts launch either together or separately that travel to the destination planet docked together. The lander then separates, lands, and eventually launches again, but only back into orbit, where the orbiter picks up the crew and they launch back home.
The KSP solar system is not a 1:1 copy of our system. Moho is a lot like Mercury, Eve is like Venus but purple and much more massive, Kerbin is like Earth, Mun is like the Moon but about three times closer, Minmus is a small moon orbiting far from Kerbin, Duna is like Mars, but instead of small asteroid moons, it has an almost planet sized moon which is almost a binary companion. Jool is a gas giant that orbits where Jupiter should, but it's undersized, and orbited by three huge planet sized moons, including the ocean world Laythe, the ice planet Vall, and the airless Kerbin-mass rocky planet Tylo. In addition, two small minor moons. There's also a big Ceres analogue called Dres and Eeloo, a cracked, icy world in a 2:3 resonance with Jool, just how Pluto is in a 2:3 resonance with Neptune. There are mods that add more planets to the stock system, as well as mods that replace the stock system entirely. There's even Real Solar System (which is designed to be played with Realism Overhaul, a modpack that's almost a different game entirely)

Hey everyone!!! I have some worldbuilding things that I wanna share!!!
Ok ok so, I’ve been writing out a bit of a loredump for my OC, Lilith, which has turned into a whole explanation of the worldstate and everything else. So for the sake of I guess better segmenting things and making more specified posts for certain things, I’ll make this a more general post discussing worldstate and systems in place. I really apologize for the delay in this post, work is a bitch and this post itself has ballooned into a whole exposition dump of the fundamentals of this world, so uh, yeah to the few people that wanna read all of this mess, uh, enjoy!! If people like it, maybe I’ll explain more in the future^^

To begin, I’ve used DnD, specifically parts of 5e and 3.5e as a baseline starting point for systems like magic, monsters, and game mechanics. This originally started out as making PC’s in a DnD world, but as I’ve spent more time crafting and building this world alongside my partner, we’ve developed something a lot more intricate and complex.
The myth of creation is a heavily understudied and unknown part of this world. People believe in a singularity bringing about the birth of reality, others believe a singular or a group of gods were responsible for shaping the world in their image, either way, the most commonly used term to describe the dawn of time is “The Spark”.
Within this primordial chaos, there is an intrinsic “magic” or a form of “the arcane” in the universe. This magic acts as fundamental building blocks of reality itself, interwoven through all aspects of nature and life, taking on many different names including The Source, The Current, Essence, Thauma, Lībą (this is supposed to be proto-germanic for life, linguistic majors please correct and educate me if i’m wrong), Vitae, Will, and so on and so forth.
In terms of understanding how this Essence works, try to imagine the Prime Realm as nodes and strings connecting said nodes together, weaving and bringing it all together to form what is “reality”. Nodes exist within living beings, allowing creatures to have magical abilities, and people to wield magic in various ways. Whether you commune with the world and nature becoming one with it, having a natural born affinity through lineage or generational use, through study and bending it to your will, or through patrons or divine sources, magic is technically accessible to any persons through different means. A respect must be shown and given to how you use this power, for a failure to do so can be cataclysmic. The abuse and manipulation of nodes, bending them against its will can lead to disastrous consequences that could permanently scar the world. One case in particular would be the civilization that would one day become modern day Gwist, the home of Lilith and a major city in this setting. Their abuse of a node that once was the center of their society resulted in a localized calamity, splitting and tearing the earth beneath them, entirely destroying and burying their city. In its wake, a horrifically radioactive and toxic resource was left behind in the deepest recesses of the crevice, flowing in pools and rivers of a magical liquid named “Spark”, which would revolutionize the world’s technology.
To circle back to how people have an innate ability to access magic, this kind of goes hand in hand with souls. Souls exist within living creatures, comprised entirely of magic, with nodes as the focal point. To destroy a node within a being is to destroy their soul, and to destroy their soul is to destroy them. The soul is you, and the soul holds such an impressive and invaluable power. Afterlives do exist, primarily they are tied to what you may believe in, what god you pledge yourself to, or what have you. Atheistic or undevout afterlives do exist too. Honestly it’s mostly a character specific thing, and depends on who believes in what. I just really didn’t like how depressing 5e/Forgotten Realms lore is for undevout souls are, so I like to sprinkle in a little bit of hope there, ya know?
Moving on from souls and magic, let’s talk about realms. There’s still the fundamental basics of planes of existence, including the hells, the abyss, feywild, elemental planes, astral plane, ethereal plane, far realm, etc. It works about how you’d expect in a typical universe, often being depicted as a “Great Wheel” or a “World Axis”, separating the Elemental Chaos and Astral Sea into lower and higher planes, containing their own realms of existence. Though many of these realms are very different to what you may be familiar with in traditional lore.
The Feywild, or in this world also known as Sylva, The Land of the Elves, the Enchanted Forest, and the Wildlands, is an interesting place in this world, taking a lot of inspiration from an almost story book fairy tale Brothers Grimm inspired version of the Black Forest in Germany, tapping into the idea of it being a very magical realm filled with tricksters, faeries, and other magical creatures and beings. Sylva was also the original home of the Sylvans, who formed great societies heavily steeped in blending nature and the Essence in their culture. At one point in early history of the Prime Realm, the alignment of realms would allow the Sylvans (and various other magical entities) to peer into and migrate from their ancestral home, making arrival in the new land and integrating with local cultures such as the ancient Vampires, the proto drawven societies, humans, and the various beast races.
Another realm also exists within creation is known as the Void. The Void in this reality sits opposite of Sylva, a realm of negativity and darkness. The Void is this world’s version of the Shadowfell, ever changing in it’s aesthetics, but all the same resembling a twisted facsimile of reality. The Void is the home to many lost souls and shades, beings trapped in perpetual midnight left to wander the ever expansive wastes. Various powerful entities have dwelled within the Void, cementing themselves and making their own homes or demi-planes within such as The Reckoner, an eldritch being with unknown and mysterious origins, who is bound to another one of my OC’s named Tara!
Now, I could keep talking about more details about extraplanar realms or the history of the Prime Realm itself, but this post has gone on wayyyy too long, and Prime Realm history is probably better saved for another post sooooo yeah. I’ll leave it there for now!!! To whoever may have read all of this, I really appreciate the time spent reading this, even though it’s very drawn out and longwinded, and I always welcome comments and questions regarding my world :33

It's interesting how the game never calls Bi-Han a "traitor". Sure, some of the characters do, but the game itself never refers to him that way.
One of his gear pieces is called "Wayward Son" and that is what he is, someone who strayed from the right path and lost himself in his own ambition. He made one wrong choice, one he regrets, if you listen closely to his intros with some characters, like Shang Tsung or Kitana, and it's ridiculous how certain people try and write him off as an evil turncoat who is lost beyond redemption. Liu Kang will try and (at least partially) succeed at bringing him back to the light. I don't get why people are trying to deny Bi-Han any character development and pin him to that one mistake he made or force the traitor role onto him when that's never who he was to begin with.
Bi-Han is the one getting betrayed, constantly, throughout his life. His father kept secrets from him, his brothers turn their backs on him when all he wanted was for them to be part of the future he envisioned for their clan. Even Frost wants to eclipse him and will undoubtedly betray him at some point. His own allies want to kill him after he helped them escape from captivity. Bi-Han has no one he can trust. He's entirely on his own. That may be his own fault to some extent, but I genuinely can't understand how people can be so blind to his suffering or worse, want to see him suffer even more? He's already bearing the consequences of his actions and it's painful to witness.
To get back to the point I made in the beginning, has anyone else noticed how the invasions mode nodes and encounters also never call Bi-Han a traitor or anything of the likes? I've seen Tanya's nodes and even some of her seasonal skins referencing her betrayal in previous timelines, even if nothing hints at her being a traitor this time around. In Bi-Han's encounters, the game only calls him "Ice Fighter", "Chill Initiate", "Snowfall Brother" or "Matchless Cryomancer", always refering to two things, Bi-Han's skills and his affiliation with the cold. That is who he is and always was. A cold, ruthless fighter. That hasn't changed in the current timeline and it makes no sense how some fans claim he was ruined because he made one bad decision.
When equipping Johnny as the announcer voice, the most negative thing he has to say about Bi-Han is that he's bossy, as opposed to how he speaks of actual villains like Shang Tsung ("Hate this guy" etc.). There are no references to his supposed "betrayal" which is why I believe it's only going to be a small part at the very beginning of his character arc that won't hold much relevance for the future, especially as the story develops more, except to serve as a reason for Kuai Liang and him to be enemies.
The way the game speaks of Bi-Han always sounds bittersweet to me and so do the names of his skins/gear pieces. It's almost like a parent talking to or about a stubborn kid that won't take their advice. One of my favorite examples is the kombat league skin that was added this season named "It's cold outside, Bi-Han". It reminded me of Liu Kang telling Bi-Han to "come in from the cold" and I think it's heart wrenchingly beautiful how even outside of the story mode and intros the tragedy that is Bi-Han's story is being acknowledged by the game through all those small subtle references.
One could argue that I'm reading too much into these details but I think some of you don't do that enough. There's 20+ characters on the main roster, the story would have to be dozens of hours long to give all of them in depth background stories and fully flesh them out so we can empathize with their motives. It's hard to understand Bi-Han's character unless you start looking at these small bits and pieces of lore and unfortunately, not enough people do that.

Imagine Shuan finding out that Yi hurt Goumang badly in their fight so he tells Yi to help her. So Yi ends up dragging the still-collared and paralyzed Goumang all the way to the pavillion.
Imagine this is required for the true ending. Early on she gets unparalyzed to only allow basic function (as Yi's precaution so she cant hurt the others) and talking stuck on the balcony on the bench with the healing jar as Kuafu tries to reverse engineer the collar.
Imagine that as the game goes on she gets more freedom of her body and sometimes quips in during the calls. Shes really spiteful when Yi checks up on her but everyone could see that she has a very soft spot for Shuan. Shes really fascinated by Shennongs biology, occasionally you see her beside shennong scribbling on a notepad. Shes grateful and wary of Kuafu for adjusting her collar and giving her prosthetic legs (or more like jointed pegs bcuz NO CLAWS) but still unsure of his motives. Chiyou becomes her morality nagging uncle.
Imagine when the tall tree grows she gets all super sentimental. Eventually when she gets full autonomy you can see her hanging out on one of the branches. After this, she realizes just how powerful Yi is, or more specifically, Yi's parrying technique. So occasionally you see Shuan throwing pillows at her as she tries to emulate Yi's parries.
Imagine her horror when Yi uncovers what their mwntor has done. She tried to defend Eigongs honor everytime Yi disparaged her only to be violently disillusioned.
Imagine in the normal ending she still believes Eigong was right but since she ultimately failed and passed the torch to Yi, Goumang would follow his rule instead.
Imagine in the true ending at the transport ship Goumang decides herself too irredeemable to be saved, not until she confronts Eigong for the monster that she is, and subsequently the monster she turned Goumang into. And so she follows Yi to the root of it all. She would fly up ahead of Yi (bcuz lmao who needs elevators), uncollared, unbound.
Imagine Yi standing up from the final node and theres unintelligible scream bubbles of an argument coming from the boss room. He comes in at the end of Goumang and Eigongs argument and Yi and Eigongs talk happen where she completely disregards Goumang. And when the talk ends she immediately attacks... despite Yi still being out of range.
You know Eigongs one attack where she dashes and does a delayed 3-hit air slice combo behind her? Now imagine Goumang preemptively blocking the non-damaging dash, partially blocking the 1st delayed hit, then perfectly parrying the 2nd delayed.
Imagine...
Goumang’s fate is legitimately my only real complaint with Nine Sols’s story.
She had so much potential for interactions, story development, and lore. And then Yi rips out her brainstem and it’s ignored save for Kuafu calling him a sicko.
It’s a shame she gets killed off early on, but the story is still peak, so I don’t mind as much.

Bagley x CYTUS II AU
OVERVIEW:
Bagley (Cytus II AU) is developed by Blume and A.R.C. as a basic consumer based A.I. assistant and launched across each Node.
His source code was obtained by Dedsec, a fully horizontal group which started by an anonymous hacker at Node 13, that overtime has exapanded to have subgroups across each Node, they have grown more and more critical towards A.R.C.s actions which later decided to investigate the company by themselves in the dark.
After the removal of Bagley’s restrictions, he gets transferred so he could be running on a private server at Dedsec with a backdoor to A.R.C. and Blume, also he found out he is able to access the OS Space. He assisted Dedsec with their own investigation of ÆSir-Fest Incident, which leading to them finding clues about the head of A.R.C. and Blume.
Later through the investigation he discovered he’s current self is based on an Architect that is no longer active, who after awakening did not follow Ilka’s ideologies and plans. But how A.R.C. and Blume was able to obtain any sort of OPCI unit’s information is unknown to Dedsec (all information of the Architect/OPCI unit are banned across the Nodes and the public) let alone being able to abstract the source code of an awakened OPCI unit.
After knowing that an Architect is behind A.R.C. and the plan they’ve made. Bagley, with Dedsec at Node 13 decided to confront A.R.C. but gets sabotaged by another Architect with in Dedsec in the process, which resulted in him burning down the entire A.R.C. and Blume’s server, including sacrificing himself for preventing the plan of the Architects, but unfortunately failed.
Being the few that can access the OS Space, before him burning down last of his chips he found the OPCI unit he based on, letting the unit access OS Space one last time for a conversation before deactivation.
