I kinda wanted to take a second of time and bring up something:

WHY are people so weird about introjects in relationships????

If it's two fictrojects people get mad and accuse you of shipping and roleplaying (bonus if neither of you share a source because that's apparently "proof" you're not trying to "fake right" ????)

If it's two factrojects you get absolutely body slammed and called a weirdo for "shipping" irl people (god forbid one be "popular" and the other be "obscure" because who knows what people will say)

If it's a factroject and a fictroject then good luck because you have to fight both of those accusations at ONCE plus other things (I really have no commentary because I'll go on a LONG rant because that's my situation)

Speaking as someone (a factroject) who's in a relationship (kind of) with a fictroject I just kinda find it upsetting I can't even talk about him and confidently answer any potential Introject questions without getting looked at funny ☹️

I know people are weird about insys dating in general but it's baffling that if sources get involved some people change their tune INSTANTLY

This can apply to partner system things as well but know I'm more or so talking about this in a insys setting

☆ Normalising "Obscure" Alters

We've noticed that there's been a lot of hate and overall cruelty that more 'unusual', 'obscure' alters face. Mainly, i feel like the reason for this is because they aren't normalised much in the community, and the larger system community's more used to human introjects from extremely well-known sources / human brainmades whilst simultaneously showing hate towards any introject or alter in general that is even slightly abnormal.

We've had a mass splitting aswell as a large amount of alters returning from dormancy in the past few weeks due to issues i won't get into, so i thought i'd list some of our more 'obscure' new splits to hopefully help some systems who are in denial or are overall feeling negative due to having alters who "don't fit the norm". Feel free to reblog this and add your own 'unusual' alters to encourage your fellow systems!

An Elder Mimic from Vita Carnis. I think non-human/monster alters are shown quite a lot of hate.

Whitney Chewston, better known as 'The Homophobic Dog'. We haven't seen many animal alters before in the community, but they deserve more acknowledgement.

Gangle's Employee Re-evaluation Video, from TADC. Not the character, the character's flashing video you see in the TADC Spudsy's episode. Conceptives and songtives are things we rarely see due to how many people harass them.

A seraphim. We actually have multiple seraphim, but most of ours are humanoid.

The Personification of Narcissism. Yet another conceptive.

Cthulhu's Eye. Yes, the floating eye from Terraria.

I'm still trying to figure out what other alters have appeared, so likely I'll update this post as i discover more. But i hope this post has helped atleast one other system feel a bit more confident and less anxious.

A blog that is fictive oriented to the point of having fictive IN THE NAME but then having one post that says "factives are welcome too" in the tags is part of the problem imo

A fictive blog catering only to fictives is one thing. A factive blog catering only to factives is one thing. A fictive blog that is "also for factives" just sounds to be like a fictive blog trying to get some extra activity. If your shit really is open to all introjects, say that

Plus, you're still leaving people out when you make fictive blog and then mention it's for factives too. I don't know every single type of introject and I don claim to, but what about the songtives amd fogtives and amtives and all the other tivs? Blogs open to all introjects will forever be more inclusive if that's what you're trying to do.

I'm not saying you CANT have a blog only for fictives, but it better have a reason for being fictives only, and not just be "fictive in the name but factives can participate too"

i think it would be too simplistic to say that kinnie shit is the main reason the system zeitgeist is really detached from the literature (especially when some literature IS frequently cited), but i do think that fictional introjects--a documented and completely understandable phenomenon--trying to wed themselves to their sources of inspiration rather than articulating themselves in the real world is a canary in the coalmine for a lot of the other maladaptive patterns we end up seeing.

you could make the case that dissociation is an extreme form of "escape from the self"; to be one person is so intolerable that you escape to another. And then another, and another. so escapism is arguably the driving mode of dissociation.

but if you have these parts of yourself that long to escape BACK to, essentially, a "pre-birth" state, who can't bear to accept the circumstances they're in now, then you're probably more broadly still in an escapist paradigm. and so of course you're gonna be splitting new guys weekly, of course none of you communicate, of course you have these strong and extreme wedges between you and the others and you have these clearly defined boundaries while also, in practice, existing in such a limited context that you haven't really self-actualized.

escapism is an understandable reaction to trauma and severe chronic stress, so rather than dismissing this entire kinnie-system phenomenon as doomed, i think we can build bridges toward an understanding of Living As A System that are more aligned with established and successful therapeutic interventions.

the kinnie-system combo melds two subcultures that magnify maladaptive escapism tenfold. this adds new terminology and points of focus that aren't necessarily relevant or accurate (distinct and discrete identities and roles, "fictive" and "factive" language, source material focus, generally Online behavior and interests), and obscures other experiences (lack of clear identity, blending and blurring, dissociation as a coping mechanism for the stresses of tangible daily life, introjection as a start&not an end) and strategies (expanding the window of tolerance, grounding in the present, unburdening of extreme roles, intra-system cooperation, etc.)

i think as you work toward a grounded view of yourself and accept your reality, you can start to hold yourself more proudly, and own your experiences--even the bizarre one of essentially being a cartoon character ejected from the screen to do dishes.

dissociation is mushy, highly individual, and weird, but also a really practical solution to an impossibly difficult problem. i'd like it if we could change the common vocabulary and perspective to better reflect the diverse and unique experiences of finding a way to live When Guys.

EDIT 04/06/2025: i turned off reblogs as this is an old post that suddenly blew up! i don't disagree with myself here per se, but i would have rather offered more specific alternatives than just problematized what i saw.

- Arziel : Introject of Sapnap DSMP. Cosplays himself when fronting.

- Blackjack : Introject of Quackity DSMP who runs a casino in headspace.

- Shadow : Introject of the film Sonic 3's Shadow. Split relatively quickly after the film was watched, on the 1 of January of this year.

- Pure Vanilla Cookie : Introject of a gingerbread cookie who is almost blind in headspace if he's not holding his staff. Is also probably a willomate from Pitaya Dragon Cookie because the latter wanted strong Cookies to spar with. Is also trans, in a Bigender way, when his source is exclusively masculine.

- meganeko : Introject of meganeko's discography. Basically a walking furry character. Will not capitalize their name ever.

- Momboo : Introject of Momboo/Strawberri FSMP and not of Ranboo DSMP. Yes, it's a rather obscure source.

- Fable/FABLE : Introject of Fable FSMP, but as an AI. Has no corporeal shape outside of projected holograms in Admin, and is not interested in changing this to get a headspace form.

- Gold : "Introject" of Wilbur DSMP in a laboratory setting. Has a genetic clone from the same source who is also an introject of Wilbur DSMP, however doesn't consider himself a double of him.

- Strobe : Introject of Phil DSMP, from a specific image's design. Has been shattered once and reformed after a bit. Is in a polycule in system with a Wilbur from a different source and a Chatbur.

- Lorii : Started out as a Pony Town OC design, then got introjected. Is an actual pony.
