If you ever feel pathetic for something just remember that Adi Shankar presented himself in the middle of an artificial nerd room during a trailer, complete with a bunch of unopened Deluxe Edition Berserk volumes right next to him, in order to talk about how much of a fan he is of the things you like. He's not like those heartless Hollywood big wigs fr fr
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hell, the Angry Video Game Nerd set looks more realistic than this
The fact that those Berserk volumes were still wrapped in plastic was the cherry on top. That's deeper symbolism than anything that came out of NFCV.
Ah, and let's not forget the opening shot!

Yeah, we get it, you worked on the Best Videogame Adaptation of all time. Until you were forced to leave because Ellis was a piece of shit, so that he could literally piss all over your work. You sure you want to take the credit, man?

From the JJK Official Fanbook (published in the US as “Jujutsu Kaisen Official Character Guide”), and the first search results for “The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window:”

Specifically looking at the section in the lower right corner page 174.
“So Jealous of Authors who can Always Draw Great Work
I love reading stories by Tomoko Yamashita Sensei and Takako Shimura Sensei, packed with episodes that only women would know. It’s really exciting to touch upon perspectives that are unknown to you, like, “ah, I see, I didn’t know that.” Yamashita Sensei has come out with so many story compilations and she doesn’t have a single bad one. When she came out with The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window (Libre Publishing), which was a genre of story that she hadn’t drawn in the past, I was convinced. I said, “yup, whatever she writes ends up amazing.” I think that Yama Wayama Sensei of Nikaido, Behind Me (featured in Captivated by You/Kadokawa), and Tatsuki Fujimoto Sensei are in the same category; every time I read one of their manga, I get all jealous, like, “ah, crap, crap. They exist, they exist! There are people who can write great stories no matter what.” Most importantly, I think to myself, “I bet the readers can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that they’re in store for great work.” Honestly speaking, it makes me really jealous.”

i think genuinely the proper nouns are the worst part of this whole massive project. its either like. the official english translations are inaccurate between material (i will NEVER not be a bit upset about lelie june's translations lol) or having to be the one to decide how to translate a certain thing INTO english. like i thankfully thought ahead to write the katakana down for each name i was unsure of but now i well. am going to have to pencil in a whole day to go and check what the kana actually mean and then make the decision of how to translate it. like obviously i could just take the kana at face value but sometimes it gets wonky. its a bit of a headache lol

Government Diet Advice Leads to Yo-Yo Dieting
I searched for anything on government diet advice and yo-yo dieting from misinformation and there was nothing so here goes
Weight management requires both daily activity and eating real food to get essential nutrients. Image by PublicDomainPictures from Pixabay During lockdown, many people went from commuting daily to work, walking to the bus stop, going out during breaks, commuting home or going out. While at work we cannot snack. An entire industry of delivering food to workplaces has grown out of the shorter…

A canon compliant guide of Bruce Wayne’s officially adopted children
I noticed there has been some confusion about who all in the BatFam is actually legally adopted by Bruce Wayne so I thought I’d try and help clear some things up.
(Full disclosure you can of course headcanon whatever you like, I made this is strictly to help newer fans know what is actually canon💕)
Dick Grayson: Adopted
(Batman: Gotham Knights #17 and Batman #600)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Many fans argue over whether or not Dick is officially adopted, many saying it was never official and he is still just his ward.
Though he does admittedly usually spend the majority of his actual childhood as a ward, Bruce ends up officially adopting Dick as his son(as I have explained before here)in multiple timelines
Barbara Gordon: Not Adopted
(Batgirl and the Birds Of Prey Rebirth)
Tumblr media
There was never a need for Barbara to be adopted because she still has a Dad. She is however still very much in the BatFamily and has trained under and with Bruce
Jason Todd: Adopted
(The New Titans (1988) #55 and Batman: A Lonely Place of Dying)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I couldn’t track down a comic where we actually get to see Bruce adopt Jason, but there are plenty of instances in which his adoption is referenced -including but not limited to these two- throughout several timelines and reboots
Cassandra Cain: Adopted
(Batgirl 2008 #6)
Tumblr media
Now this one is a bit more debatable as aside from this one instance, Cass’ adoption is never really mentioned again even after the timeline gets rebooted. Still the general consensus is that Cassandra’s adoption is considered canon.
Tim Drake: Adopted
(Batman #654 and Red Robin #4)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though Tim declines Bruce’s offer of being adopted at first, we get to see Bruce adopt Tim as his son about a year or so later. His adoption is also referenced across multiple reboots
Stephanie Brown: Not Adopted
(Batgirls #13, Robin (1993) #174, and Robin (1993) #126)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now the main reason Stephanie is not and probably will not be adopted is because both her parents are alive. While her Dad is a villain and out of the picture, her mother is a nurse and fully capable of taking care of her.
Bruce does however train her during her brief stint as Robin and much like Barbara she is no less apart of the BatFamily, she’s just not in the Wayne Family
Duke Thomas: Not Adopted
(All Star Batman #1 and Batman & the Signal #3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now Duke is never officially adopted because technically his parents are alive just insane due to Joker’s toxin of which there is no cure. However Bruce does take him in and let him stay at the manor and it is heavily implied he may have been Duke’s foster parent until his mom was very recently cured in Batman Urban Legends so do with that what you will
Damian Wayne: Not Adopted/Biological child
(Batman and Robin (2011) #0)
Tumblr media
Damian is Bruce’s one and only biological child -of the main canon- and therefore does not need to be adopted because you don’t need to adopt your own child
And that’s all of Bruce’s official and unofficial children in the main canon!💕🖤

In Mario Party 4, the main group of hosts (Toad, Shy Guy, Koopa, Goomba and Boo) are using the power of the mysterious Party Cube to celebrate the player characters' birthdays, including gifting them presents. At no point during the game is any malice or selfishness attributed to their motivations.
However, the 2002 official guide for the game instead slanders several of the hosts by claiming that they are using the party as a front for obtaining money (ignoring the fact that it is the hosts themselves that give the players the money as part of the game to begin with) or that Boo's minions steal from the players (ignoring that Boos only steal from players on behalf of other players, and do not keep the money or stars stolen).

Why You Shouldn’t Use GShade
Even after two years, I still see people using GShade and claiming it's a safe program, when it’s really not! There are already some older Tumblr posts about this, but I figured it’s worth refreshing the issue.
So please read this
Around two years ago, GShade’s developer added a code that could forcefully shut down your computer, not because of a bug or security measure, but on purpose. Why? Because he was mad that someone, specifically a 16-year-old made an alternative way to install GShade without using the official updater. Instead of handling it professionally, the dev decided to add a malicious code as "punishment" for anyone trying to modify GShade. That’s malware behavior.
(The first spark) ↓
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At that time you also HAD to update Gshade to unistall it. ↓
Tumblr media
(Developers "Apology") ↓
Tumblr media
Now, you might be thinking, “Okay, but that was patched out, so it’s fine now, right?” Nope. Because the biggest issue isn’t just what he did, it’s the fact that he still thinks he did nothing wrong.
The Problem with Closed-Source Software Like GShade
GShade is closed-source, meaning no one except the developer can see or verify what’s actually in the code. This is a issue when dealing with someone who has already abused their control over the software.
With open-source programs (like ReShade), anyone can look at the code, verify it’s safe, and contribute to improving it. If something shady is added, people can catch it immediately. But with GShade, you have to just trust that the dev isn’t hiding anything malicious. And considering his past actions, that’s a massive risk to take.
Even if GShade is "safe" right now, nothing is stopping the dev from adding another backdoor, data collection, or something even worse in the future. Since no one can see the code, you wouldn’t know until it was too late. And given that he still defends his actions, there’s every reason to believe he’d do something similar again.
“But I’ve Never Had Issues With GShade”
A lot of people say GShade runs better than ReShade or has better effects. That might be true, but no amount of quality or convenience is worth putting your computer at risk. Just because something hasn’t caused problems yet doesn’t mean it won’t in the future. Malicious code can be slipped in at any time, and because it’s closed-source, no one would be able to warn you.
And honestly? You shouldn’t be using software made by someone who has already proven they’re willing to mess with your computer. If a developer intentionally inserts harmful code once, they can do it again.
What Should You Use Instead?
There’s a safe and open-source alternative: ReShade
It’s free and open-source, meaning the community can review the code to ensure it’s safe.
It can do almost everything GShade does, and while it may take some tweaking, it’s worth the effort.
Most GShade presets can be converted to work with ReShade with a bit of adjustment.
There are guides available to help transition from GShade to ReShade Here is one: How To Move To ReShade From GShade
Final Thoughts
At the end of the day, it’s your computer, and you can do whatever you want with it. But if you choose to keep using GShade, just be aware of the risks you’re taking. The dev has already demonstrated that he’s willing to sabotage people’s computers when he feels like it. He still thinks he was justified. And because GShade is closed-source, he has complete control over what’s in the code without anyone being able to check.
So ask yourself: Is that really the kind of software you want to trust?
ReShade is a safer, open-source alternative that doesn’t put you at risk.
Thank you for reading
Here are some links that discusses the whole topic:

I actually need a part two to Yandere sugar daddy or I will die
Yandere sugar daddy who loves to spoil his baby.
MDNI!
Tw. Yandere, power imbalance, isolation, captivity, NSFW themes
What do you want honey? A new pair of pretty shoes? A designer bag? A car that costs more than your left leg? He'll give it to you with a snap of his fingers.
Yandere sugar daddy who loves becoming your main source of income. You shouldn't have to trouble yourself with anything hard like boring paperwork or stupid board meetings. That's for him to worry about. No, the only thing you should be concerned about is spreading your legs and murmuring understanding words when he comes home from a stressful day at work.
And sure, you've been kind of whiny and bratty ever since he started to limit the time you spent outside, but can you blame him? Yandere sugar daddy hates even thinking about you wandering through the big scary world without him there to guide and protect you. You're supposed to be his responsibility, so don't go thinking you can just run around without his explicit permission.
Yandere sugar daddy who likes to hide little gifts for you around the penthouse. It's like a little game. He likes sending you messages randomly throughout the day. Go check the third drawer in the study. It's a good way to make sure you haven't snuck out on him, but he also just loves it when he finds you with a new pretty gem settled on the column of your throat.
Yandere Sugar daddy who takes you on crazy, all expenses paid for vacations to tropical islands, different cities, and dream destinations. You'll have the best hotels, best views, best wardrobe as long as you sit pretty and snuggled up to him while you're flying first class.
Yandere Sugar daddy who shuts down any kind of arguments you might have about silly things like 'Why can't I see my friends' or 'Where is my passport and my credit card?' He just hands you stacks of cash or his own cards and tells you to go wild. Don't worry about all of that. Just go to the shopping outlet with the security guards he hired to keep an eye on you and have lot's and lot's of fun spending his money.
Yandere Sugar daddy who finds a way to blacklist you from the industry you used to work in. No one in their right mind will give you a job even if you wanted one (Not that he intends to even let you think about living life away from him). He's never, ever going to let you have even the slightest chance of being independent.
Though, he's sure that he'll feel much better when he can finally slip a ring on your finger and make this little arrangement more official.

Naming International POC Characters: Do Your Research.
This post is part of a double feature for the same ask. First check out Mod Colette's answer to OP's original question at: A Careful Balance: Portraying a Black Character's Relationship with their Hair. Below are notes on character naming from Mod Rina.
~ ~ ~
@writingraccoon said:
My character is black in a dungeons and dragons-like fantasy world. His name is Kazuki Haile (pronounced hay-lee), and his mother is this world's equivalent of Japanese, which is where his first name is from, while his father is this world's equivalent of Ethiopian, which is where his last name is from. He looks much more like his father, and has hair type 4a. [...]
Hold on a sec.
Haile (pronounced hay-lee), [...] [H]is father is this world’s equivalent of Ethiopian, which is where his last name is from.
OP, where did you get this name? Behindthename.com, perhaps?
Tumblr media
Note how it says, “Submitted names are contributed by users of this website. Check marks indicate the level to which a name has been verified.” Do you see any check marks, OP?
What language is this, by the way? If we only count official languages, Ethiopia has 5: Afar, Amharic, Oromo, Somali, & Tigrinya. If we count everything native to that region? Over 90 languages. And I haven't even mentioned the dormant/extinct ones. Do you know which language this name comes from? Have you determined Kazuki’s father’s ethnic group, religion, and language(s)? Do you know just how ethnically diverse Ethiopia is?
~ ~ ~
To All Looking for Character Names on the Internet:
Skip the name aggregators and baby name lists. They often do not cite their sources, even if they’re pulling from credible ones, and often copy each other.
If you still wish to use a name website, find a second source that isn’t a name website.
Find at least one real life individual, living or dead, who has this given name or surname. Try Wikipedia’s lists of notable individuals under "List of [ethnicity] people." You can even try searching Facebook! Pay attention to when these people were born for chronological accuracy/believability.
Make sure you know the language the name comes from, and the ethnicity/culture/religion it’s associated with.
Make sure you understand the naming practices of that culture—how many names, where they come from, name order, and other conventions.
Make sure you have the correct pronunciation of the name. Don’t always trust Wikipedia or American pronunciation guides on Youtube. Try to find a native speaker or language lesson source, or review the phonology & orthography and parse out the string one phoneme at a time.
Suggestions for web sources:
Wikipedia! Look for: “List of [language] [masculine/feminine] given names,” “List of most common [language] family names,” “List of most common surnames in [continent],” and "List of [ethnicity] people."
Census data! Harder to find due to language barriers & what governments make public, but these can really nail period accuracy. This may sound obvious, but look at the year of the character's birth, not the year your story takes place.
Forums and Reddit. No really. Multicultural couples and expats will often ask around for what to name their children. There’s also r/namenerds, where so many folks have shared names in their language that they now have “International Name Threads.” These are all great first-hand sources for name connotations—what’s trendy vs. old-fashioned, preppy vs. nerdy, or classic vs. overused vs. obscure.
~ ~ ~
Luckily for OP, I got very curious and did some research. More on Ethiopian & Eritrean naming, plus mixed/intercultural naming and my recommendations for this character, under the cut. It's really interesting, I promise!
Ethiopian and Eritrean Naming Practices
Haile (IPA: /həjlə/ roughly “hy-luh.” Both a & e are /ə/, a central “uh” sound) is a phrase meaning “power of” in Ge’ez, sometimes known as Classical Ethiopic, which is an extinct/dormant Semitic language that is now used as a liturgical language in Ethiopian churches (think of how Latin & Sanskrit are used today). So it's a religious name, and was likely popularized by the regnal name of the last emperor of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie (“Power of the Trinity”). Ironically, for these reasons it is about as nationalistically “Ethiopian” as a name can get.
Haile is one of the most common “surnames” ever in Ethiopia and Eritrea. Why was that in quotes? Because Ethiopians and Eritreans don’t have surnames. Historically, when they needed to distinguish themselves from others with the same given name, they affixed their father’s given name, and then sometimes their grandfather’s. In modern Ethiopia and Eritrea, their given name is followed by a parent’s (usually father’s) name. First-generation diaspora abroad may solidify this name into a legal “surname” which is then consistently passed down to subsequent generations.
Intercultural Marriages and Naming
This means that Kazuki’s parents will have to figure out if there will be a “surname” going forward, and who it applies to. Your easiest and most likely option is that Kazuki’s dad would have chosen to make his second name (Kazuki’s grandpa’s name) the legal “surname.” The mom would have taken this name upon marriage, and Kazuki would inherit it also. Either moving abroad or the circumstances of the intercultural marriage would have motivated this. Thus “Haile” would be grandpa’s name, and Kazuki wouldn’t be taking his “surname” from his dad. This prevents the mom & Kazuki from having different “surnames.” But you will have to understand and explain where the names came from and the decisions dad made to get there. Otherwise, this will ring culturally hollow and indicate a lack of research.
Typically intercultural parents try to
come up with a first name that is pronounceable in both languages,
go with a name that is the dominant language of where they live, or
compromise and pick one parent’s language, depending on the circumstances.
Option 1 and possibly 3 requires figuring out which language is the father’s first language. Unfortunately, because of the aforementioned national ubiquity of Haile, you will have to start from scratch here and figure out his ethnic group, religion (most are Ethiopian Orthodox and some Sunni Muslim), and language(s).
But then again, writing these characters knowledgeably and respectfully also requires figuring out that information anyway.
~ ~ ~
Names and naming practices are so, so diverse. Do research into the culture and language before picking a name, and never go with only one source.
~ Mod Rina

Maki
You two get outed
Tumblr media
Keeping your relationship with Maki a secret had been easy at first. The two of you were already close, so nothing felt out of place when you spent time together. You stole quick moments when no one was looking—brushing hands under the table, exchanging knowing glances, and sneaking off for late-night conversations. It was exciting in a way, your little secret.
But lately, things had become… complicated.
Specifically, because of Harua.
It started with small things. Harua offering to grab drinks for you when everyone was taking a break, sticking by your side whenever you visited the practice room, and even insisting on walking you home after late-night hangouts. You didn’t think much of it at first—Harua had always been kind. But Maki noticed. And as the weeks passed, you could tell it was starting to get to him.
Today, though, was the final straw.
You had come to practice to watch the guys and maybe learn a bit of their choreography for fun. Maki had been keeping an eye on you all evening, his jaw clenched slightly every time Harua hovered too close. But when Harua moved behind you, his hands gently guiding your arms into the right positions for the choreography, you felt the tension snap.
“Harua, back off,” Maki’s voice cut through the room, sharp and sudden.
The entire practice room fell silent. The other members, who had been chatting or stretching, all turned toward the source of the outburst. Harua blinked, startled, quickly stepping back from you.
“Maki?” Taki tilted his head, clearly confused. “Dude, what’s up?”
Maki let out a frustrated sigh before running a hand through his hair. Then, as if he had decided he was done with the secrecy, he stepped forward and grabbed your hand.
Everyone’s eyes widened.
“We’re dating,” Maki announced, his voice firm and unwavering. “That’s what’s up.”
For a second, no one said anything. You felt your heart hammer in your chest, your fingers tightening around Maki’s instinctively. But then—
A loud cheer erupted.
“We knew it!” Yuma grinned, nudging K. “I told you they wouldn’t last a month without admitting it.”
“You guys are the worst at hiding things,” EJ chuckled, crossing his arms.
Your mouth fell open. “Wait—what?”
Fuma smirked. “You really thought you could keep it from us? Maki turns bright red every time you’re in the room.”
Maki groaned. “You guys are so annoying.”
Harua, who had been quiet this whole time, suddenly let out a sheepish laugh. “Well… I guess the plan worked.”
You frowned. “Plan?”
The members exchanged amused glances before Nicholas spoke up. “We knew you two were dating, but since you wouldn’t admit it, we figured we’d speed things up a bit.”
“So,” Harua added with a teasing grin, “I was supposed to, you know, make Maki jealous.”
Your jaw dropped. “You were all in on this?”
“Of course!” Taki beamed. “And it worked, didn’t it?”
Maki groaned, covering his face with his free hand. “I can’t believe I fell for it.”
You couldn’t help but laugh, squeezing his hand. “Well, at least we don’t have to keep it a secret anymore.”
Maki sighed, but there was a small smile on his lips. “Yeah, I guess that’s true.”
K clapped his hands together. “Alright, now that it’s official, we need to celebrate.”
“You guys are unbelievable,” Maki muttered, but he didn’t let go of your hand.
And as the others playfully teased you both, you realized that maybe keeping it a secret had been pointless all along. Because in the end, the people who mattered most already knew—and they had been rooting for you from the start.

Dungeon Meshi Information Sources
Dungeon Meshi has several worldbuilding details and extra comics in different publications and I think they get pretty hard to keep track of so I wanted to make a guide and explain what is what for people that maybe want to look into it themselves!
The Main Information sources are:
Daydream Hour 2-5: Sketch compilations and extra comics by Ryoko Kui with commentary, which can be found on EH Scans blog translated, and also in mangadex in between the manga chapters (The first daydream hour isn't dungeon meshi related)
The Complete Daydream Hour: Or more specifically "Ryoko Kui Doodle Book Daydream Hour" Released in january 2024 it still hasn't been fully translated into english. This version compiles extras and sketches from daydream hour 1-5 along with new content. Some of the exclusive comics have been translated and can be found on reddit and bato.to but the full thing is yet to be translated. (Update: Daydream Hour is gonna be realeased in english at the end of May 2025! You can pre-order on the Yen Press website)
Delicious in Dungeon World Guide: The Adventurer's Bible (2021): A guide by Ryoko Kui that compiles information about the characters, monsters and the world. An official english version is available. It was released in february 2021 and has information pertinent for up to chapter 71 from the manga. It contains extra comics for all the main characters and for all the human/demi human races. The extras that talk about side character's backstories are from this book and the characters section has been translated by EH Scans (Also on mangadex)
Delicious in Dungeon World Guide: Adventurer's Bible Complete Edition (2024): Released in february 2024 and still untranslated, this version of the Adventurer's Bible has information updated for the end of the manga, there's even more extras and lots of comics about post-canon. Some of them are being translated and posted into reddit but I haven't seen them anywhere else. The raw is available on bato.to (edit: Yen Press has announced the new AB but still no dates) (edit: it comes out at the end of july!)
Manga and Ryoko Kui's Blog: Some of it are from the manga itself, like Monster Tidbits and other Harta Magazine Extras (Where dungeon meshi is published) and also from the author's own personal blog. Lots of the drawings in her blog were deleted with the publishing of the complete daydream hour but you can still see what was unpublished using the wayback machine.
Blu-ray: The blurays is where the "what if" extra comics come from, the covers also have original art by Ryoko Kui and some other extra illustrations you can see on this tag.
I hope this helps somehow! It was pretty confusing for myself when I first started looking for more extras after finishing the manga.
The things I post here are all based on one of these and I try to put in the tags what the source is!
