INTRO !!

Hey, hi, hello, and welcome! We're The Eternal Backwoods, we're a mixed-origins OSDD-1b collective/system (we don't mind either term!) with a LOT of members, hehe. We made this blog to have fun, coin terms and meet new people!

INFO / ABOUT US !!

We're polyfragmented, fictive and introject heavy, switch quite frequently and don't keep count of our members (I mean, one does but we don't share that because we're not just numbers lmao)

Our collective name is just the name of the collective/system, if that makes any sense lol. The body has a name but we don't share that online, for our privacy and safety.

Our collective pronouns are he/him, they/them or it/its!

The body is trans male. While the body has no physical disorders/is able bodied, we have been professionally diagnosed with ADHD

Attention systems that may have denial or are being fake claimed!!!

Around 1.5% of the population has DID, around 4.1% of the population has some variation of OSDD-1, that makes 5.6% of people that have these disorders, almost six percent!!

That's not even counting undiagnosed or non-disordered systems!!

I would argue that at least around 10 percent of the world has some for of disosiative disorder resulting in a system, which may not sound like a lot, but think about it

There are around 8 billion people in the world. 10% of 8 billion is at least 800000000 people!! Its not nearly as rare as people think!!

the entire “systems shouldn’t do this,” “do this with systems,” “systems want this” is so harmful. it strips away the fact that no matter what, it is a person with a unique life, personality, opinions, standards is begins the screen. pushing people to follow ideas for all systems strips individuality from systems an puts them in a bubble where their only defining factor is they’re system.

listen to individual systems about their boundaries, about what they do. respect their opinions, boundaries and their decisions and don’t force another person’s opinion on them because they said it was a “wrong” thing to do.

I think more of you guys need to be in mixed origin servers for old fucks only. I think it would probably help. Talk to systems in their late 30s and realize that the origincourse doesn't matter and strictly dividing people into boxes just does not fuckin work

Cdd/udd joy is looking how your best friends, even if they don't understand the disorder completely, try and do their best to remember every alter name, their pronouns and "befriend" them. Even if they already acknowledge that the person is in fact a friend and viceversa <3

Shout out to plural allies. Like. Genuinely. We love y'all. It's so rare for a singlet to really Get It, and oftentimes even after we come out it feels like we're still in the closet. So shout out to singlets who listen and who do their best to understand and who make the effort to treat us like individual people. We love you. We appreciate your efforts a lot more than you probably know.

we don't see many people talking about academic trauma and its effects on systems so here we go!!

for us, a lot of our alters carry extensive academic trauma from our lack of support throughout our education! many alters would split off from the constant overbearing stress of school alone. dissociative amnesia meant we would hardly remember our academics and our own expectations for ourselves partnered with teachers expectations of us due to high grades in the past left us in a cycle of self-beratement and torment.

alters abilities were compared to one another constantly, everyone around us telling us that we could do xyz last week so just do it again. alters fought one another for our academic memories, causing trouble for the hosts to recall things they *needed* to know, because they loved learning but hated the education system!!

academic trauma is just as bad as any other traumas you may have experienced as a system or just as an individual alter. education is hard to maintain for many when the right supports arent put in place for us!!

so heres to systems who had to drop out, or systems who fought and/or still fight to stay in education!! to all the academic helpers and academic traumaholders!! to the systems who love learning but hate school!! to the systems who have extensive academic trauma, and to those still going through it!!

we see you, you arent alone, you're doing wonderfully and we're proud of you!!
