If you have an address within the United States, PLEASE consider taking sixty seconds to visit https://protectmypublicmedia.org to protest the executive order recently put in place to cut funding to vital public education and media programs such as PBS, PBS Kids, and NPR (national public radio).
PBS funds The American Experience show, which creates hour-long documentaries about American history. They frequently feature minority groups, African-American history, and missteps the government has made over the years. My favorites are the Love Canal doc, The Polio Crusade (which covers the march of dimes), and the history of American Eugenics doc. Watching their videos with your adblocker disabled is an easy way to give them money.
A PBS passport also only costs $5 a month minimum and provides access to a host of other content.
PLEASE take a moment to do send an email to your rep and sign the petition in the link below. This is vitally important programming which disproportionately benefits the poorest and most marginalized, but is still incredibly enjoyable even to those who don't need it. And remember: an uneducated public is an oppressed public.

I've been seeing this PBS ad on TikTok recently, and since I know a lot of people on here don't use TikTok, I thought I'd share it! PBS is asking people to go to https://protectmypublicmedia.org/rsc-emails/ and fill out the information to send an email to your congresspeople. It's super easy too, since they already have the email written out and will send it for you.
Also, PBS kids and sesame street is super important to me so even though the federal funding only makes up about 10% of NPR and PBS's funding, i wanted to share some ways to donate to them (although these are specifically PBS)
https://www.pbs.org/donate/ is the website to donate specifically to PBS; there are 2 ways to donate. You can do a one-time donation of 60 dollars or higher or monthly donations of 5 dollars or more. I just signed up for a 5 dollar monthly donation recently, and it was super easy and probably the more affordable option.
If you have kids who want any PBS Kids shows, there's also a store that sells merch based on the shows. The link for that is https://www.shop.pbskids.org/. They have a lot more variety for newer shows, but they have something for pretty much all of the shows they still play!
Don't let Trump try and take away this incredible source of children's educational media, especially when children's education is already suffering right now. PBS Kids is made possible by viewers like you!

Since 47's daddy never loved him, he wants to defund and ruin an educational channel platform that helped GENERATIONS OF CHILDRENS.
And I have NO FUCKING DOUBT the "meaningful and improving student outcomes" he has planned is some Christian National MAGA horseshit.
EVERYTHING Trump and MAGA touches turns to SHIT.
So PBS WON'T go, donate to the link in the post above!!
Seriously, why doesn't he make some Fox News Kids network, have Kid Rock do his voice and FUCK OFF!

The good news on the NPR and PBS funding being cut is federal funding only made up about 10% of their funding anyway. So yes they’ll likely have to end certain programs. But they won’t shut down over this which is probably what trump wanted
But let’s try to make up that 10% funding cut it’s a tax deductible donation to both of them if that helps

A Mother of Two Seeking Safety After War
I lost my home and everything I owned because of war. I'm now trying to survive with my two daughters — one of them is still a baby and needs milk and diapers regularly.
I'm doing my best, but I can't do it alone. If you're reading this, and you're able to help, even with a small donation, you'll be supporting a real family in desperate need.
Every little bit helps - and goes directly toward food, baby supplies, and a sate place to stay.
Donate please
If you can't donate, please consider sharing this message. Even one share can make a difference.
Thank you, from my heart.

PBS is suing President Donald Trump and other members of his administration in an effort to halt his order stripping federal funding from the television network. The lawsuit, filed Friday, argues that “regardless of any policy disagreements over the role of public television, our Constitution and laws forbid the President from serving as the arbiter of the content of PBS’s programming, including by attempting to defund PBS.” Trump and his administration have targeted a wide array of media companies he views as his adversaries, including looking to strip federal funding from public media organizations. Earlier this month, the president signed an executive order to restrict public funds to both NPR and PBS. In his order, Trump claimed the organizations engage in “biased and partisan news coverage.”

Donald Trump has signed an Executive Order ending taxpayer funding to National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) all because they report news that the Trump administration does not like.
NPR only receives about 1% of its funding from the federal government. PBS receives a sizable portion of funds from the federal government which may lead to PBS having to pull its network off the airs in rural areas.
PBS also is home to the popular kids programming PBS Kids airing shows such as Sesame Street, Wordgirl, Arthur and more.
