Hate myself because I went on a massive Percabeth fic binge in 2019 or 2020 (whenever it was I read the books last probably) and I APPARENTLY DIDN’T SAVE MY FAVORITES.

Apparently I went through a soulmate AU phase because these were two that stuck out to me enough to remember now. Also found an absolutely excellent retelling of the PJO books through annabeth’s pov, and I’m 99.9% certain it was the daughter of wisdom series.

I haven’t read any tv Percabeth fics yet but I’m planning too so soon.

At what point does one have to accept defeat? At what point is an endeavor clearly going to be unsuccessful, a battle a lost cause, a war unworthy of any reward, should one accept their losses and move on? Could there ever be such a moment, when the thing you're fighting for is your wife? Percy would let the world burn for Annabeth, but could he let it bring his city-state to ruin? He was a king. No matter how loyal and devoted a husband he was, he was also a king. At what point would his duty to his men outweigh that towards his wife? Had that moment already come to pass and he ignored it? Would that moment ever come? Was five years at war too much for him to ask of his men?

Do you guys ever think,

when Percy dies, Grover will die at the same time. But unlike the others, they'll never be reunited in Elysium because Grover's a satyr who never get into Elysium, they turn into a tree.

And, if Annabeth is outlives Percy, she won't just grieve the love of her life but one of her best friends as well, one of the first people who believed in her, outside of luke and thalia.

One more thing, When Percy dies at least Annabeth will know she gets to see him again in Elysium but she'll also have to live with the knowledge that she'll never see Grover again even in death.

And if you don't want to think abt this, then:

Then don't think about her throwing away the collection of tin cans she and Percy probably kept for Grover.

Don't think about her using something from a tin can and thinking "I'll save this for Grover" and then realizing she'll never get to give it to him.

Don't think about her never being able to eat blue food or enchiladas again.

Don't think about her and Juniper holding each other and crying.

Don't think about Juniper momentarily hating Annabeth for getting to see her husband after she dies before forgetting all about her anger because they both lost their loves, damn it!

Don't think about Annabeth "Always Six Foot Ahead" Chase knowing death is approaching and making a list of what she wants to be burnt with so that she can give them to everyone who she has ever cared about. Adding "Tin Cans and Enchiladas" in the list before breaking down again.

Don't think abt Percy reaching Elysium, being greeted by all of his friends, looking around for grover before registering why he wasn't there.

Don't think about him mourning his best friend, his brother even when in Eternal Paradise.

The tragedy of the decision lies in the fact that no choice would have been correct. One would win and two would lose and a war would bloom no matter the outcome. pjo prompt: percy and jason have to go on a quest together, so they both decide to bring their respective partners (annabeth and leo). during the quest, they get kidnapped by monsters and percy and jason wake up in an arena. the monsters explain that they have their partners and in order to save them, they have to fight to the death, with the winner getting to leave alive with their partner, while the other is killed. however, the monsters are very shocked when percy and jason sit down and start calmly playing cards with each other. they’re not worried about their partners. instead, they’re worried for the monsters. they trapped annabeth and leo together, two of the smartest demigods. the girl who redesigned olympus and the boy who built a warship in six months. they were toast.

need a scene change in season five where percy asks for kiss because it's kind of a tradition. but instead of annabeth not looking at him. she stops what she's doing and walks up to him. they're nose-to-nose. staring at each other. and annabeth almost looks aggravated. until she tells him to come back alive and he'll see. and percy stares deep into her eyes just nods. and then they part ways. and immediately start kicking ass on opposite ends of the battlefield. and the remaining campers are stunned. but quickly gather themselves to exchange drachma before fighting because they placed a bet on whether or not these two have kissed yet. and apparently.
