Sueño 1: Soñé que visitaba un lugar turístico que me daba la sensación de haber visitado antes en sueños. Se trataba de una especie de torre de concreto con una rampa que la rodeaba por fuera. Al subir la rampa, llegabas a la cima de la torre, que estaba rodeada de alambres con púas, y lo único que había era una escalera de mano negra que subía unos cuantos metros en el aire y terminaba abruptamente. Por otro lado, por dentro de la torre, unas escaleras normales atravesaban de manera surrealista la torre misma y te conducían a un paseo en una montaña, parecido a la barranca de Huentitán. Iba con Arturo y había unos cuantos visitantes más, aunque no recuerdo más detalles.

Sueño 2: Soñé que mi hermana tenía otra hija, muy parecida a María Luisa. Estaba sentada en una mesa y la cuidábamos. Parecía que se iba a caer y rápidamente reaccionaba para tratar de sostenerla, pero no se caía.

Dream 1: I dreamt I visited a tourist place that felt familiar from previous dreams. It was a kind of concrete tower with an external ramp winding around it. Climbing the ramp led to the top of the tower, surrounded by barbed wires, and the only feature was a black ladder that climbed a few meters into the air and ended abruptly. Inside, normal stairs surrealistically cut through the tower itself, leading to a mountain path similar to Huentitán Ravine. I was there with Arturo and a few other visitors, though I don't remember more details.

Dream 2: I dreamt my sister had another daughter, very similar to María Luisa. She was sitting at a table, and we were looking after her. It seemed she was about to fall, and I quickly reacted to try to hold her, but she didn’t fall.

Books number 12 and 13. Oddly without even trying there were some similarities between both books. They were both about siblings a male and a female with special abilities. “Riot Baby” was more serious with mentions of real events in history starting with the L.A Riots and it offered a sci-fi spin on very sad reality. “Nothing to See Here” is purely fiction and very a quirky look at what it is to be a dysfunctional family in politics. I highly recommend both of anyone is looking for something different to read.

At the start of the year I set myself a personal challenge to read more books to expand my mind, learn some new things, and to break away from reading what everyone else is reading. I’ve always enjoyed having some kind of year-long challenge however I was struggling to come up with a challenge that felt right! What I ended up with (most happily) is a year of reading non-fiction! Each month in 2019 has been allocated a topic and each month I will endeavour to read a minimum of two books on that topic! I am three months in and I’m loving my challenge and all the books I’ve chosen so far ❤️ . The whole point is to learn from these books and to implement my new knowledge into my life, and make some positive changes where I feel they’re needed! . The months are: January: Wellbeing February: Environment March: Nature April: Feminism May: Philosophy June: Wildlife July: Creativity August: Technology September: History October: Psychology November: Space December: Religion . I will be sharing everything I read as well as the lessons learned. Here is what I read in January, which was complimented by a heaps of review books that fit the theme perfectly! New year's challenge

I am a frugal person and this year I am going to try and simplify my life by setting myself a challenge.

After January for the remaining 11 months of the year I'm only going to buy myself:

-Food

-toilet paper

-Washing powder, soap, deodorant shampoo and conditioner.

-Anything I need medically (e.g. joint braces/meds)

-Home repair stuff

-Days out or cinema trips monthly

- A holiday I have planned with my partner and inlaws to the Isle of Wight

No more buying clothes / new craft stuff / books.

No more buying little things from amazon.

If I want anything I'll have to make it myself or save vouchers to get it for free.

This morning’s haiku was terrible. Basically a cop-out for yesterday. I’ll try harder. 

Tonight’s challenge: make a poem from words that rhyme with the word (...plucked from wordgenerator.com....): summit

Hmm. More random than I expected.* 

*Yes, I know that's the purpose of a random word generator. 

Expectations

I used to hang with Stevie Reede

We used to dream, get high on weed.

I was cocky, liked to trumpet

Mommy said I’d reach the summit

Life is funny. Look at me now:

From the ground.

The end. 

I really like this one, but first I was playing around with a different poem: 

(It started sort of like: I made a bet with Stevie Reede, I will reach the summit)

The one we dreamed

When high on weed

And what do you know-

I’ve done it.

And I really like the last lines. But I scrapped it because the beginning just wasn’t working and the Expectations one did. (And I need to think of a new title for it.) 

All in all, I’m pleased.
