Buy physical media. Buy CDs. Buy records. Buy tapes. Buy books. Buy physical artwork or prints. Take photos of yourself and get them developed at a photo processing booth. Write your thoughts down in a journal. Why? Because as this world get more digital, what's physical will slowly but surely disappear. There will be less things you can touch and feel, and more things that you can see and not touch. You can post all the digital pics you want on social media...nothing is assured and those pics and those platforms could be gone in an instant. An album on streaming platforms will never be the same as the original album in your hand with the liner notes, as versions of that album can get removed, and/or replaced with re-recorded material (since the artist doesn't own their masters). Books go out of print. And staring at a jpeg (no matter how much you paid for it *cough cough* NFTs) of an artwork will never be the same as owning the actual artwork or a print of it.
Preserve these things. If not for yourself, then for future generations.

I think maybe the secret to digital art is no layers and no adjustment layers. Make the process as much like painting as possible but without permanently staining every single article of clothing I own. Anyway this one is called Three Reasons To Stay Alive Until Late July 2024. Maybe Even Early August.

Finished!
A lazy summer day by a stream~
I finally put my illustration degree into good use and made a proper traditional illustration (although still fanart 😅). Sometimes I really wanted to just "undo" some strokes or move some things around haha but man was this relaxing and satisfying to work on, also I am just so proud of the outcome. I haven't done a proper traditional illustration on this scale since my thesis so it's been a few years.

I took these photos with a phone outside to try and really capture the colors and details.

Just received my print from @rendevok today and I. AM. IN. LOVE! The gold in this piece just makes the moment between these two look even more magical and just this lineless work is so crisp and so beautiful! The photo doesn't give it the justice at how amazing this looks in person!
(Kinda rushed to get this in a frame to keep it from getting scratched or dirty so I need to readjust the piece and align it better down the road but for now I'm happy its resting on my desk inspiring me to continue to work on my own pieces!)
