if i see one more pomegranate metaphor tiktok im going to shit myself. its a fucking fruit and you turned it into misogyny. women gentle men rough. women soft men hard. women weak men strong. how about i gently beat the shit out of you and stuff pomegranate seeds down your throat until you choke huh? are your offensive gender roles going to help you then? women swallow men spit? is that how you think?

I just peeled a pomegranate and watched it bleed as I tore its flesh away and consumed what's inside.
I wonder if this is love.
I wonder if this is how God feels when he tears into me.

I've been seeing this symbolism on tiktok, but I just wanna say, cannibalism is not gentle. You can't compare eating a pomegranate gently to cannibalism because cannibalism is never gentle. It's full of extreme love

They say men destroy pomegranates. They rip them apart, staining their hands red and showing how vicious men are. They do not show the pomegranates love and care. Women open them slowly, meticulously so as to not stain the hands. They break them down with care. But both end the same do they not, with a pomegranate being eaten and thrown away. Was there really care in the hands of the women, or are they just better at hiding their violence?

When you’re starving, you’ll eat anything.
“Starving” Waambles, 2023
I posted this elsewhere but didn’t give my explanation so I thought I might aswell say it here hehe
This is a response to my dislike of the metaphor of cannibalism for love/romance. Showing something so violent and all consuming in a positive light as a metaphor for love rubs me the wrong way. This is also a piece about my aromanticism + romance repulsion. Where love HAS felt like cannibalism to me, where the idea of being tied to someone romantically feels like losing myself and my autonomy. Romance feels like a loss of self for me as an aromantic person, cannibalizing my soul and my body for your enjoyment. So Everytime I see alloromantic people post about cannibalism as a metaphor for romance all I can see is the consumption and it confuses and scares me lmao. I feel other forms of love and I’d never want that love to feel like I am being consumed or consuming someone else. This isn’t a diss towards anyone who likes that metaphor but this is my response to it. Really tried to capture the horror and terror with this one lol
