Creating PowerPoint Presentations on iPhone: Guide
I have published a new guide on how to create PowerPoint presentations on your iPhone
Recently, I have needed to do a lot of work while on my iPhone. One of the things that I needed to do was create a few simple PPTs for classes. These PPTs only need to be a keyword or a sentence, so nothing too complicated. The Microsoft PowerPoint mobile app did a fantastic job with these. At first, I only planned to build the first draft on my phone, but some of the results have been good. It’s…

Kiss And Tell (Or Not)
"Teach me how to kiss" CONTENT: wc...1.4k ✦ just kissing, r and e are "friends", just two losers SUMMARY: When your best friend Ellie—an awkward disaster with an inflated ego—casually flaunts her dating experience, you jokingly ask her to teach you how to kiss. Things escalate quickly from a half-hearted peck to a proper tutorial, leaving both of you flustered, laughing, and maybe questioning what this whole "friendship" thing even means.

It started as a joke, as most things with Ellie did. She was lying on your bed, her legs kicked up against the wall, her favorite beat-up hoodie pulled over her head. You were sitting cross-legged on the floor, the laptop in front of you long forgotten as the conversation shifted to relationships—or, more specifically, your lack of one.
“I can’t believe you’ve had two relationships, and I haven’t even been kissed,” you said, throwing a pillow at her. She caught it with a dramatic grunt, smirking like the smug idiot she was.
“What can I say? People can’t resist me,” Ellie replied, brushing her knuckles against her chest like she was the hottest thing alive.
You rolled your eyes so hard you thought they might fall out of your skull. “You’re so full of it.”
“Full of charm,” she countered, grinning.
But the grin faded when you didn’t say anything for a moment, staring down at your lap instead. Ellie noticed, propping herself up on her elbows to study you.
“Hey,” she started, her voice softer now. “You good?”
You hesitated, chewing on your bottom lip before blurting out the thought that had been simmering in your head for the past few minutes. “You could teach me.”
“Teach you what?”
“How to, you know... kiss.”
Her jaw actually dropped, and for a moment, you thought she was going to laugh. But she didn’t. Instead, she blinked at you like you’d just asked her to solve world hunger.
“Wait, are you serious?”
“Never mind. Forget I said anything,” you said quickly, heat rushing to your face.
“No, no, no. Hang on,” Ellie said, sitting up completely now. “You’re telling me you want me to teach you how to kiss because I’ve dated two people?”
“Well... yeah,” you mumbled, avoiding her gaze.
She was quiet for a moment, and then: “You really think I’m qualified for that?”
You shot her a look. “Ellie, you’re the only person I know who’s been in a relationship. Twice.”
“Fair point,” she muttered, scratching the back of her neck. She still looked like she couldn’t believe what was happening. “Okay, so, uh... how do we do this?”
You gave her a flat look. “You’re the one with the experience. Shouldn’t you know?”
“Right, right,” she said, nodding like she was about to present a PowerPoint on the subject. She leaned forward a little, her expression awkwardly serious. “Okay, so... uh, close your eyes, I guess?”
“This is so weird,” you muttered but did as she said, squeezing your eyes shut and waiting.
You felt her shift closer, the bed creaking beneath her. Then, after a beat, her lips brushed yours—soft, hesitant, and barely there. It was over almost as quickly as it started, and when you opened your eyes, Ellie was already pulling back, her ears a suspicious shade of red.
Ellie sat back, rubbing the back of her neck and looking anywhere but at you. “Well, there you go. First kiss—check. You’re welcome.”
You frowned, feeling the heat of embarrassment crawl up your neck. “That wasn’t... I mean, it barely counted.”
She gawked at you. “What do you mean it barely counted? You said you wanted to learn, and I taught you!”
“That wasn’t teaching, Ellie. That was, like... the demo version,” you retorted, crossing your arms.
Ellie groaned, dropping her head into her hands. “Are you kidding me right now? You want a full-on tutorial?”
“I want a proper kiss,” you said firmly, though your voice wavered just slightly. “You’re supposed to show me how to do it right, aren’t you? I mean, how am I supposed to learn from that?”
She looked at you, her eyebrows raised like you’d just asked her to climb Mount Everest. “Do you even hear yourself right now?”
“Yes, I do,” you shot back, though the flush on your cheeks was betraying your confidence.
Ellie groaned again, flopping back onto the bed. “This is the weirdest thing you’ve ever asked me to do, and that’s saying something.”
“Ellie, come on,” you insisted, tugging on her sleeve. “Please? Just... one more time? A proper kiss.”
She let out a long, dramatic sigh, tilting her head back to stare at the ceiling. “Fine. But if this ruins our friendship, it’s on you.”
“It won’t ruin anything,” you said quickly, though a tiny voice in the back of your head wondered if that was true.
Ellie sat up again, her face pink but determined. “Alright. Sit here,” she said, patting the bed next to her.
You hesitated for a moment before climbing up and sitting cross-legged across from her. The air between you felt heavier now, charged with an energy that hadn’t been there before.
“Okay,” Ellie said, clearing her throat. “This time, no half-assing it. Got it?”
“Got it,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper.
She leaned in again, slower this time, giving you plenty of chances to back out. But you didn’t. Her hand found its way to your cheek, her thumb brushing against your skin in a way that made your breath hitch. When her lips met yours, it wasn’t hesitant like before. It was soft but certain, warm but not overwhelming.
This time, it wasn’t over so quickly. Ellie tilted her head slightly, her movements careful and unhurried, as if she was trying to make sure you understood each step. When she finally pulled back, her face was redder than you’d ever seen it, and she couldn’t quite meet your eyes.
“Happy now?” she mumbled, her voice almost gruff.
You nodded, your heart still racing. “That... yeah. That was good. Proper.”
“Good,” she said quickly, standing up and pacing the room like she needed to burn off some of the awkward energy. “Glad we got that out of the way.”
You watched her, biting back a smile. “You know, for a self-proclaimed charmer, you’re awfully flustered.”
She shot you a glare, though it lacked any real heat. “Shut up.”
Ellie had been pacing the room after the kiss, her hands stuffed into her hoodie pocket, muttering to herself about how "this was so weird" and "friends don’t do this kind of stuff." You had stayed on the bed, still trying to process what just happened, your fingers absentmindedly fidgeting with the hem of your shirt.
Eventually, her pacing stopped, and she leaned back against the wall, her head thudding softly against it as she exhaled a long breath. “Okay, so... that was... something,” she muttered, glancing at you.
You looked up at her, and suddenly, her eyes locked with yours. Neither of you said anything, but the room seemed to shrink, the air thickening with something unsaid.
Her gaze was steady, and before you knew it, she was pushing off the wall and crossing the short distance between you. The tension that had been simmering finally snapped as she leaned in, her lips finding yours in a kiss that wasn’t hesitant or experimental this time. It was deliberate, almost urgent, like something she couldn’t hold back anymore.
Your breath hitched in surprise, but you didn’t pull away. Instead, you leaned into her, your hands clutching the fabric of her hoodie as if you needed something to hold on to. The kiss was different—less about teaching and more about... feeling.
When she finally pulled back, her forehead rested against yours, and her breath came in soft, uneven puffs. “Sorry,” she mumbled, her voice barely audible. “I... I don’t know why I did that.”
You swallowed, your chest tight. “Don’t be sorry.”
Ellie leaned back slightly to look at you, her expression conflicted. “This was supposed to be a lesson, not... whatever that was.”
You didn’t know what to say, your mind still spinning from the kiss. But instead of answering, you reached out, your fingers curling around her wrist. “Ellie...”
Her name on your lips seemed to ground her, and for a moment, she just looked at you, her green eyes searching your face like she was trying to figure something out. Then she sighed, a soft, almost defeated sound, and flopped onto the bed beside you, her hand brushing yours.
“Well,” she said, breaking the silence with a dry chuckle, “you’re officially not bad at kissing now.”
You laughed despite yourself, the tension easing just a little. But even as the two of you fell back into your usual banter, a part of you couldn’t shake the feeling that something between you had changed—and that maybe, just maybe, Ellie felt it too.

While the battlefield had fallen quiet, the air still carried the faint hum of something unfinished, like the unresolved note of a song.
How curious. This wasn't the first time someone had offered their assistance so freely, and yet the Valkyrie's offer felt different. There was no hesitation, no ulterior motive woven into her words that Kafka could detect. Only a genuine kindness that felt at odds with the steel edge the blonde carried moments ago. It was a contrast that sparked the Stellaron Hunter's interest.
There was also the curiosity of the title: S-Rank Valkyrie. It rolled through Kafka's thoughts with a certain rhythm, a concept foreign enough to feel novel alongside the ability to manifest and dispel weapon and gear. Titles were a burden, after all, and Durandal's seemed especially heavy.
"Discretion is a rare quality," Kafka said at last, her voice soft. "It's not often I get to enjoy some anonymity." Her eyes glimmered as they met Durandal's, lips curling up into another smile. "Rarer still in such intriguing company. I couldn't possibly turn down the opportunity."
Without waiting for permission, Kafka moved closer, slipping her arm through Durandal's with a practised grace that suggested she'd done this countless times before. "Shall we?"
— ✦✦✦✦✦ —
The city of Penacony unfolded before them like a painting come to life—cobbled streets lined with brightly colored stalls, bustling crowds that hummed with life, and a faint, almost syrupy sweetness that lingered just below the surface. Kafka's lips curled faintly as she stepped into the vibrant scene, her arm still linked with Durandal's.
Eyes flicked toward her occasionally—curious, lingering for half a second too long—and she knew they were trying to place her face. "People here can be observant," she mused aloud, though her voice was low enough that it might've passed for a private thought. Her lips tilted into a smirk as she glanced at Durandal. "But not observant enough."
With a fluid motion, Kafka slipped her coat from her shoulders, draping the tattered garment over her free arm. Releasing her hair from its usual pins, she let the loose waves spill over her shoulders, their soft frame altering her silhouette in a way she knew would be effective. The shift was small—barely an effort—but it proved enough as they resumed walking.
The glances from the crowd came and went, curious but fleeting. A young man tending a SoulGlad stall hesitated as he caught sight of her, his brow furrowing before his gaze slipped away. A woman seated at a cafe leaned slightly forward, as if on the verge of recognition, before shaking her head and returning to her tea. It was amusing to watch their uncertainty. The small adjustments to her appearance had made her unfamiliar enough to avoid their scrutiny.
"See?" Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she glanced toward her escort for the evening, looping her arm through Durandal's once more. "You know, you're quite the mystery," Kafka said, her tone playful. "Valkyrie. That's not a title I've heard before, and I've been around."

To my fellow artists out there, especially ones who are trying to support themselves through art: if you do commissions I really recommend putting your presence out there in some larger way. Whether that's with an etsy listing for commissions or an account on fiver, you should have something that makes you searchable by people who are not in fandom or art spaces. I work in Big Business CompanyTM and I was on call with a customer who was like "wow I want an animated tutorial video to help show people how to use our product but I have no clue what to do, I guess I'll use generative AI" and I was like NOOOOO because like! What he wanted would've been really simple to do with some basic rigging and words moving, but he just didn't know where to go to get that! And I can't be like "oh I follow this animation student that has commissions open, let me show you their account. Please ignore all the drawings they have of spock and kirk making out". But I don't have a good website to direct him to to look... Most people won't go to instagram or tumblr or whatever and look through tags, they will either go to google or if possible a host site that seems trustworthy. So put yourself on places that people will be looking!
Also, be smart with your keywords! People don't always know the word "commission" outside of artist spaces. If you draw animals say you do pet portraits for example or like... describe what furry art is for somebody outside of the furry community (fantasy anthropomorphic animals... idk we can workshop it). I suggest imagining that you are a person looking for an artist to commission and going onto your favorite search engine and think "what would I type in if I was trying to find the art I do" and then use those words in your post. Try suggesting some things your art could be used for (avatars, profile pictures, banners, posters) etc as well. I know people love to include pictures of what they offer and include text in those pictures: PICTURES ARE NOT SEARCHABLE! Make sure you include that text typed out somewhere as well!!
On the commission sheet/post/listing/whatever you also should make the next steps people should take really clear, potentially even give an example of what a commission request should look like. If people are confused they will be less likely to act on it!! And give them concrete actionable background information like "Answer these questions and provide 3 or more reference photos, I will get back to your request within 2-3 business days".
THESE ARE JUST SOME BRAINDUMP THOUGHTS I've never done commissions myself so I'm not sure if there are better sites out there to use. I think with the rise of AI art, if people don't know what other options to use, so they're going to use what's easily accessible. So make yourself and your art easily accessible!!! Making yourself more visible to folks outside of the artist community will help show cooler better alternatives to people AND also make it more likely that you get commissioned! Please I'm begging you don't let me sit through another powerpoint presentation with generated ai art I'm losing my mind here. Give me something I can show to people at work as an alternative!
#laurellala talks#art commissions#commission#commissions#I was ragging my dad because he was giving a business presentation and they ai generated a portrait of him (BRUH)#and he was like well how would i get art otherwise and i had to pause because IDK i would just go to my art friends!#but not everyone has art friends....#sorry to say you have to market yourself. But you do. Gotta get that SEO am i right ladies (search engine optimization)#(i know lots of meaningless words like that now all thanks to Big Business Company)#(ROI. KPI. I am very cool and not even a little dead inside)

This is math anon. I know European high school calculus (differential, integral), statistics and analytical geometry/linear algebra. So the reason I'm scared shitless is that my country has a system, where everyone can get into engineering, but they try to weed out as many unworthy ones as possible during the first year. Other engineering students have only told me horror stories of extremely difficult exams you have to complete in a short time frame, coupled with minimal support from professors that just read off their powerpoint to a lecture hall of 700 people. I'm talking fail rate over 80%, even the geniuses scraping by on a D-. I'm goodish but NOT a genius and now need to concentrate on maximum preparation and self-teaching to survive this first year. Thanks for any advice
The only way to get better at maths is to do it. Practice drills and putting pen to paper.
If your university website has a brief overview of modules that may be offered in the upcoming academic year, take a look at those and start practicing those topics. Look up youtube videos on the subject, and do practice problems. I usually do any practice problems offered in the video on the subject, and I google "(topic) worksheet" (make sure the worksheet has solutions) or "(topic) exam" (again, with solutions). This way you'll be able to learn while also rehashing your previous knowledge as mathematical knowledge is cumulative.
Keep a note on the topics you're currently doing so that you can have a more structured leaning path for maximum efficiency.
I'd say that if you want to be prepared for next year, have at least a working knowledge of the topics you're going to be starting next year before the academic year actually begins.
On the lectures, I know what you're talking about, I had lecturers just like that. In this case, you should create a system where you can self-study. Not that I recommend this, but personally, I would usually skip those lectures if I knew the material was going to be online anyway because I wouldn't really get anything from sitting and listening to someone talk about the topic at hand when I could actually be practicing it. I'd go home and just employ the same strategy I told you about. Watch videos, do practice problems, DO EXAM PAST PAPERS.
When you're actually in college, the most important thing, like I said, is put pen to paper. This means handing in your assignments on time, doing any practice work that your professors may put up. You don't want to find yourself in a position where you're 3 weeks behind, and have to go back and do 3 weeks worth of learning because you did not do the learning on the week that the topic was presented to you (but if this happens, it's not the end of the world, I think literally every student has found themselves in a similar position at some point).
Maths is cumulative, and you want to make sure that you have a solid foundation. I think that this is the reason why most people fail maths. They skip assignments, don't hand in work when it's due, don't rehash their knowledge, and unfortunately that means maths gets increasingly difficult for them as they don't have a solid base of knowledge and experience on past topics.
In summary: during the summer, have a study plan laid out for topics that might come up, in college, keep up with your work, hand in your assignments, go to your tutorials (if you have such a thing).
If you have any questions about what I've said, any comments, etc. you can send me another ask and I'll answer you. Hope everything I said was clear.
#My maths prof (I swear this is relevant) has actually published many papers on mathematics education and student progress and I read a paper#of his briefly that touched on the same thing I am saying. A lot of the time students fail just because they do not practice#and do not build up their working knowledge.
