Teenage Fingon and Maedhros!
I came up with a whole story (practically an entire fic idea lol 😅) for this illustration. It takes place during an extended family vacation in some snowy mountaintops in Aman, (can you imagine not Only the shenanigans the extended finwean family would get up to but also the drama involved with having everyone basically camping under one log cabin roof LMAO), and Fingon, who absolutely idolizes his older cousin Mae, finally musters up the courage to, while on a skiing adventure just the two of them, to come out as trans and Maedhros is just like: *vibrates with excitement* "this is the best news ever i'm gonna teach you everything I know about being a dude" and henceforth the two were inseparable buddies 🥹
I imagine Mae as the first person that Fingon feels comfortable coming out to in this fic idea... and Mae's immediate and enthusiastic encouragement and acceptance is at least partly why Fingon remains his loyal friend for the remainder of their days :')

Idk if this is too broad of a scope for this blog, but if you could answer this, it'd be great.
I've been in a writing rut since I started getting serious about writing, and I've identified the issue in the past month or so: I slant heavily on the gardener end of the writing spectrum and all the advice on writing I've ever seen was for architect-style writing. Not once in the eight years I've been serious about writing did I find any guides on gardener-style writing (and if it says it's gardener-style, it'sreally just architect-style with gardner aspects), and my experience has just been more or less jamming a square peg into a circle hole, getting nothing written and feeling bad about it.
Now I'm unlearning all the architect-style habits that are destructive to me as a writer, but I can't find any resources for gardeners aside from Stephen King's On Writing. If you or any of your followers know how to help a gardener's writing, that would be great. I have so many fic ideas I want to write, but can't since I'm learning to write all over again.
For those who don't know what gardener and architect refer to when it comes to writers, a gardener is a writer who starts with the seed of an idea and lets it grow in whatever direction the light shines. They prune it and weed it as they go but otherwise let the idea lead the way. An architect, on the other hand, plans their stories out first and then writes them. They have a structure and the details all mapped out first and then the writing is just executing on that vision.
As a gardener myself, my biggest piece of advice is to avoid writing advice. Like you've said, the majority of it is aimed at people who do things like plan and plot and worldbuild ahead of time. Because of the structure that that writing style enjoys, providing "one size fits most" writing advice works well for it.
I tend to find a lot of that advice to be counter to what I need to do. Planning a story out ahead just makes me feel like it's already written. Building out the world before I start writing it feels like a hollow exercise - more like writing an encyclopedia than developing a land and culture for my characters to inhabit.
What I find useful is taking an episodic approach to writing. The entire story will be like a season of a television show and each chapter is like one episode. I always have my eventual "season finale" end goal in mind, but any particular chapter can meander closer to or further from that goal. It's alright to take a circuitous route, as long as I get to my destination in the end.
It's also alright if my destination changes as I'm writing. Sometimes those meandering paths take me in a more interesting direction than I was originally going down, and that shifts the story. As long as you're vaguely following a three-act structure (or 5 act or 7 act), the flow of it will feel familiar to your readers and they probably won't really notice it happening.
This advice I'm giving might not ring true to you either. You didn't have a specific problem to address, so I've been wandering a bit in my reply. Really what it comes down to is paying attention to yourself and your needs. Figure out what it is that keeps you writing and what it is that makes you stop. Do more of the former and less of the latter - and don't worry if what you're doing is "weird" to someone else.
I write directly into the AO3 window (which AO3 specifically tells you NOT to do, btw) because drafting first in google docs or something takes the fun out of it for me. I post my chapters without previewing them first. I write in 800 to 1500 word sprints, and I focus on dialogue, and I almost always try to end on a joke or a pun or a cliffhanger. These are all things that make writing an activity that I want to do.
I can't really say anything much more specific given your ask, but I hope something in here was helpful. Let's see if any gardeners out there have some resources or advice that might work for you.

Hiiiiiiii omg you really feeding us with the Yuichiro content! It's so good I swear my day brightens when I reread your fics every time! They're such a pick me up!! May I request a scenario where reader kabedons him? Ahhhhh he'd totally have the reaction where his knees give out beneath him and he slides down the wall! Especially if reader is taller than him and she holds his chin and tilts his head upward. Cause honestly he's probably the same height as Muichiro and 160 cm is pretty smol ngl but ITS SO ADORABLE I SWEAR ESPECIALLY IN THIS SETTING!
And then imagine he's sitting there on the floor, red faced and practically smoking and then reader realises she probably shouldn't leave him there all unresponsive and stuff so she goes to look for Muichiro, but Muichiro finds Yuichiro there first, and he's just so confused and is like "Yui? What... happened? Why are you sitting on the floor here?" And either Yuichiro is completely broken and can't even say anything, or he tries and can only get out unintelligible flustered noises.
Thank you so much for taking time to read this! And do take care and take your time! ♡♡

This could become one of my favorite fanfics that I've created. Describing the readers' actions was so enjoyable (and relatable), haha. Also, thank you to @kurumi-igarashi for giving me a few ideas that I used in this fic!
It brings me immense joy to know that my fictions can brighten your day! And the fact that you've re-read them, OMG. I hope this one will flutter your heart just as you anticipated~
I'll be taking a break from writing for a few days, so there won't be any new uploads during that time. However, you can always check my pinned post to see if there are any upcoming stories that I'll be publishing, thank you everyone~

The Tokito twins had always been popular in school, thanks to their striking appearances and impressive skills in shogi. Everything about them exuded perfection. Despite the older twin's stoic and cold demeanor, students, especially females, were still drawn to him.
Now, picture this: When Yuichiro Tokito, the older twin, started to show a softer and more gentle side, it caused quite a stir among the students at school. His stoic and cold demeanor had previously contributed to his allure, but now, with this newfound subtlety kindness, he became even more intriguing to others.
His change in behavior didn't go unnoticed, girls, in particular, found themselves drawn to him even more. They saw this as a chance to break through his tough exterior and discover the person he truly was underneath. Yuichiro's popularity soared, and he unwittingly became the subject of many crushes and admirers.
Y/n discreetly glared at the girls from behind her hands, her elbows resting on the desk, and her chin supported by her palms. She couldn't understand why they were suddenly showing so much interest in her boyfriend, Yuichiro now that he had let his guard down a bit.
Although she knew that his popularity was inevitable given his captivating charm, the newfound interest from other girls made her slightly uneasy.
Part of her wanted to remind them that he was already taken as she couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy as she saw the other girls gawking at Yuichiro.
“Y/n… You look like you’re about to murder someone.” Y/n's friend nervously chuckled at her intense glare and the potential effect it could have on the unsuspecting students. Her friend knew better than to mess with Y/n when she was in this mood.
"I almost regret asking Yui to be a bit gentle..." Y/n muttered, her glare unwavering as she observed the students who seemed oblivious to the hint. She was the reason for Yuichiro's sudden change in demeanor, while she wanted him to be acknowledged beyond his cold exterior, she hadn't anticipated the amount of attention it would attract, and it was starting to infuriate her.
"Maybe you should ease up a bit on the death glares," her friend suggested half-jokingly. "I know it's frustrating to see so much attention on Yuichiro, but remember, you're the reason for his change and well, now everyone's taking notice."
Y/n sighed, trying to relax her facial expression but still finding it challenging to shake off her irritation. "I know," she replied. "I just didn't expect it to be like this. I wanted him to be more open-hearted, but I didn't anticipate the whole school fawning over him."
Her friend nodded sympathetically. "But hey, Yuichiro is with you, and he loves you. I don't think he's paying much attention to all the extra attention he's getting. Besides, I'm sure he's still the same guy you fell for, just with a few more layers revealed."
"I know that..." Y/n said, her expression showing a hint of a pout. "It's just that these girls are acting as if Yui isn't taken. They're shamelessly flirting with him," she continued, squinting her eyes as she glared at the girls once again, her voice dangerously low.
Her friend could see why the situation was genuinely bothering her, and she understood it. Dealing with other girls openly flirting with Yuichiro was a valid concern, and it was testing Y/n's patience.
"I get it, Y/n," her friend said, empathizing with her frustration. "It's not easy seeing other girls act like he's available when he's clearly not. But you know what? It's a testament to how attractive and desirable Yuichiro is, and you're the one he chose. So, take it as a compliment to your taste in guys."
Y/n nodded, still pouting a bit but trying to keep her emotions in check. "I know, but it's hard to watch, especially when they know he's taken."
"True, some people just lack boundaries," her friend replied.
After a while, lunch break arrived, most of the students had already left the room, Y/n took the opportunity to gather her belongings and tidy up her desk. She carefully placed her notebooks back into her bag, one hand occupied with the task while the other held a drink box carton that she sipped on silently.
As she looked around the classroom, she noticed some of the girls still stealing glances at Yuichiro, who was sitting a few rows away, engrossed in a shogi puzzle.
"I'm glad to see you're managing your feelings quite well," her friend remarked, but Y/n didn't immediately reply, her gaze still fixed on her boyfriend.
Just then, a girl approached and touched Yuichiro's shoulder, causing Y/n to grip her empty carton drink tightly, her grip was so strong that it crumpled under the pressure. The sound of the crushed drink box emphasized her tension, and her initial composure seemed to falter in an instant.
Her friend couldn't help but sweat drop, taking back what they said, "...Or not," realizing Y/n's true feelings were still simmering beneath the surface.
"What do you mean? I'm perfectly composed," Y/n replied, turning to her friend with a forced smile. However, her darkened expression and the increasingly tight grip on her empty drink gave away the truth behind her words.
“I'm sure you are," her friend said with a hint of sarcasm, but she couldn't help but add, "Except for the fact that you're crushing that poor drink box like you're crushing your frustration."
Y/n let out a sigh, finally releasing her grip on the crumpled drink she had consumed. Her friend patted her back, trying to offer some comfort. "I'll head over to the cafeteria, want to come?" the friend asked.
Y/n glanced at Yuichiro and the girl who were engaged in conversation. It was evident that Yuichiro was still adjusting to his new demeanor, attempting to put on a polite smile that only made him more attractive.
"Nah, you go first," Y/n replied, her gaze still fixed on Yuichiro and the girl. She wanted to observe the situation a bit longer.
“Y/n… Please don’t murder anyone.” Her friend chuckled nervously, knowing her well enough to understand the intensity of her emotions.
"I won't.” Y/n replied with a small smile, trying to ease the tension in the air.
Her friend nodded and headed to the cafeteria, giving Y/n some space to collect her thoughts. Taking a moment to compose herself, Y/n made her way over to where Yuichiro and the girl were talking. As she approached, she noticed the girl giving her a curious glance before excusing herself and leaving. Y/n didn't know if the girl sensed the tension or if she was just being polite, but she was grateful for the space.
Yuichiro turned to her, his smile genuine but with a touch of concern. "Is everything okay?"
"I despise it," Y/n began, looking down at him, since she was slightly taller and he was sitting.
"Eh?" Yuichiro's sudden panic was evident as he stood up, concerned about Y/n's reaction. He had never seen her express such strong emotions before, and he felt a pang of worry, fearing that he might have done something to upset her.
"Y/n, what's wrong? Did I do something to upset you?" he asked gently, reaching out to her. "A-Am I not doing what you wanted me to do properly?" Yuichiro's voice trembled with concern, worried that he might not be fulfilling her expectations.
Y/n looked at him, sweat dropping, and uttered her words, "No, you're doing great, honestly... Too well..." Her response hinted that Yuichiro's efforts were perhaps a bit too effective for her liking.
Yuichiro blinked in confusion, trying to understand Y/n's words. "Too good? What do you mean?"
Y/n looked at him, amazed by his adorably dense nature. She released a soft sigh before gently pushing him against the wall. Placing her hands on the sides of his head, she pinned him without restricting his hands. The sudden action surprised Yuichiro, he immediately blushed, taken aback, his heart pounding at his girlfriend’s straight forwardness.
“Yuichiro.” Y/n began, Yuichiro's breath caught in his throat as Y/n's intense gaze held him captive. He was taken aback by her sudden boldness and the closeness between them, their faces a few inches apart. His heart raced, and he struggled to find the right words to respond.
A mischievous smirk appeared on Y/n's lips as she reached out and gently held Yuichiro's chin, tilting his head up to meet her gaze. "You're mine, okay?" she asserted, her eyes locked with his minty orbs.
Yuichiro's breath hitched as Y/n's touch sent shivers down his spine. He couldn't tear his gaze away from her intense eyes, feeling a rush of emotions swirling within him. Her assertiveness and possessiveness took him by surprise, but there was something undeniably alluring about it.
His knees buckled, and he slid down the wall, leaving Y/n taken aback. Yuichiro was blushing profusely, his mouth slightly agape, and he seemed unresponsive. Fortunately, there was no one else around in the room to witness his reaction.
‘Ah... I forgot that he can't handle surprises,’ Y/n thought to herself, realizing that she might have caught him off guard with her straightforwardness.
Y/n attempted to shake his shoulder gently, but it proved futile as Yuichiro remained unresponsive. Worried, she quickly left the room to find his younger twin, Muichiro.
However, just a few seconds after Y/n left, Muichiro returned and saw his older twin, Yuichiro, blushing like a tomato and sitting on the ground, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in curiosity. It wasn't a common sight to see Yuichiro in such a state.
“Nii-san? What… What happened to you?” Muichiro asked, a mix of concern and amusement in his voice.
Yuichiro stammered, trying to find the right words to explain the situation. "I-I... Y/n... she said..." He trailed off, unable to form a coherent sentence.
"Ah..." At the mention of Y/n's name, Muichiro immediately understood what had happened.

I have an idea for an Andromaquynh modern AU fanfic
In it, Quynh moves back home to her parents after getting a degree at university she isn't really sure she can or wants to use. She used to think that she's a city girl despising the suburbs she grew up in, but now she thinks she was wrong about that or maybe her preferences changed, she doesn't much like the cities she studied in anymore, first she thinks it's because she studied abroad (in the countries of her ancestors) and could never quite connect to the culture there, but visiting a friend in a city in her home country shows her it isn't just that, she just prefers a quieter environment
In the meantime, her parents have moved to a different part of town and it doesn't really feel like coming home at all. Quynh still struggles with her place in life, she doesn't want to hang around on her parents' couch doing nothing forever but she doesn't know what else to do either and the thought of a regular 9-5 job in an office terrifies her, she has done enough internships in that kind of environment to know she can't stand it for long
Quynh starts taking long walks through the countryside, for her health because she hasn't really found any sports/active hobbies in the area yet (that's an aspect she really liked about the cities, there's always something interesting going on, she used to dance and try out things like shooting with bow&arrow and axe throwing), and to have quiet time to think away from her family. That way she gets to know the area quite well - she actually already knows it a bit because she really didn't live far away as a kid, but she never really walked through the fields on this side of the suburbs before
On her walks she sometimes comes across equestrians, and one time a horse throws off its rider and she ends up catching the animal, which doesn't seem to mind people in general just people trying to climb and sit on it - it won't stay the last time she comes across that particular animal, and she thinks she understands the horse quite well what with not wanting to do jobs they don't like just to be allowed to live comfortably.
Andy's the owner of the horse riding school, and when a girl falls off her horse (probably the one that doesn't much like its riders, Quynh calls it Big Guy lovingly not knowing what it's actually called) and needs medical attention, Quynh ends up taking the horse back to the stables and meets Andy there.
There's a bit of an age-gap between them and even once they meet and fall in love Andy is reluctant to commit to Quynh out of fear of tying Quynh to a life she might not really want, meanwhile Quynh is finally figuring out her place in life and she wants to stay with Andy.
I'll probably never write the full fanfic, I just don't have the time and motivation for it. If anyone's interested in getting the draft and adopting it, I'd love to hand it over for you to write it!
Post is okay to reblog :)
The draft I have is pretty much in bullet points atm, but I'd even go over it and clean it up a bit if someone's really interested in adopting the fic, and I'd be open to either chatting about it and giving more input, or you taking it and doing your own thing with it!
I don't have the time to write a longfic atm and I feel like what with the plot I'm thinking of, it really needs to be 10 or even 20k minimum to start doing it justice... That being said if sb wants to try writing a shorter version or is inspired by it to write anything similar, absolutely feel free! Just pls lmk once it's done so I can read it :D
I also already wrote a college AU horse girl!Andy longfic before, and while that one was happier and this one would probably have quite some angsty vibes before reaching its happy ending, it still kind of feels like I've done this before, also reducing my motivation for it even more :( which is a pity really because I do really like the idea.
If you want to take on the story reply to this or send me an ask/dm and we can figure out how to do this, discord/email/docs or whatever :)

20 Questions More
A deeper and more detailed version of the 20 questions for AO3 fanfic writers. Thanks @fabulousglitch for the tag!!
1) How do you keep getting ideas for your ship/fandom?
The blorbos won't leave me alone.
2) Which authors inspire you in your fandom, and why are they so freakishly good?
There are too many to count. I was introduced to Supergirl through fanfic and the canon I know to be true has been built on the backs of hundreds of contributors. It wouldn't do anyone justice if I started a list because 1. it would become a monolith of names and 2. I would definitely miss one(s). If you're in this fandom, you've likely inspired me, and that counts both for written, gif-ed, and drawn works.
3) Aside from the characters of your main ship, who are the characters you love to write?
Alex, but I don't always get it right.
4) Are there pairings or tropes you know for sure you'd never write about? Which ones?
There is a lot I probably wouldn't do, but I also for sure never expected to write an F1 au, so...
5) What is your writing process and why is it cursed?
I can either sit down and crush 1-3k words or sit down and tweak the same seven sentences for two hours. There is rarely an in between.
6) What is your favorite part of your writing process?
Editing. Oh boy do I LOVE editing. Those opportunities for finessing and fine-tuning and tweaking are *mwah*
7) What’s the weirdest thing you’ve had to research for a fic?
This isn't weird but is more recent: I did a deep dive into star constellations for a throwaway line in 'new kind of romance'
8) Is there a particular writing rule you struggle with (grammar, spelling, tense, reality in general)?
This is a nonanswer, but I would love to expand my vocabulary. The thesaurus is my writing buddy, but there are very real moments where I pout and scowl and glare at the ceiling because I can't think of the word that I'm feeling.
9) What was your hardest scene to write so far and why?
Any sort of conflict/confession/confrontation is always really hard for me, but they're also maybe my favorite things to write. I want the characters to hash things out and be honest and vulnerable, and I think tackling big emotions is a delicate balance. I never want to sound too forceful, but I don't want to leave things unsaid, but I don't want anyone to do anything out of character, but i don't want to yadda yadda...
10) Have your characters ever done something you didn’t expect, changing your plot completely?
see: 'crisis of indulgence'
11) If you could converse with any of the characters, who would it be and why?
Lena; I think she'd be a lot of fun to debate/argue with (respectfully).
12) What are some of the tropes or themes that you find yourself returning to in your writing?
(so far) always a happy ending. the readers and these characters deserve it.
13) What's your most important resource as a writer?
Living experiences (which takes time!). I don't think I could write heartbreak without having experienced that guttural feeling of loss in the same way I don't think I could write about failure or anger or insecurity or love or laughter. I think reading and the act of writing every day are incredibly resourceful, but the act of my lived experiences and those feelings is something I draw from in everything I write.
14) Can you share some of your strategies for editing and revising your work?
I edit as I go which doesn't work for everyone; however, a super fun thing I've picked up in recent works is this: when going to do a final edit of a <insert: chapter, one-shot, etc>, I read the last few paragraphs first. That sets me up to know exactly what the chapter is aiming for: feelings, motivations, plot, etc. I then use that as the anchor for how I tweak/edit/add small details to the rest of the chapter during my final read-through. I find it helps flesh out the larger story with smaller details.
15) Which is worse: making the summary, picking the tags, or the anxiety when you post your fic?
none of the above really since nothing about posting is carved in stone. tags and summaries can always be tweaked.
16) How do you define success for your fanfic - hits? Kudos? Comments? Bookmarks? Or just if you like it?
If it's finished. Bonus points if people get something out of it, but the act of having written something feels like the biggest success.
17) Do you have a playlist for your favorite character/ship?
Not really. I have go-to soundtracks for 'writing vibes' but nothing project/ship dedicated. (though 'like we're made of glass' was definitely inspired by very specific songs)
18) If fan art was going to be made from your work, which fic would you pick and which fan artist would you like to create it?
Again there are too many jaw-droppingly talented artists in this fandom to choose just one. It would of course be a wild crazy honor to see a work inspired by one of my fics, but there's already so much in this fandom to be inspired by that it doesn't feel like a loss.
19) How many WIPs do you currently have?
*sighs* for supercorp? there are a few (five). but the one that has most of my creative down time is a supercorp wicked au i have wanted to write for years but only have the faintest wisps of an outline for.
20) What's your advice to new fanfic writers?
Do it, do it, do it!
But also, one of my favorite pieces of advice for ANY creative venture is from Marc Dalessio who made this super cool 'creative process' graph in 2010 and included this line to summarize it: The ability to see improves before technical skill, and we often have difficulty assessing honestly exactly how our work looks.
It helps during those ruts when I look at everything I've recently written/drawn/created and scrunch up my nose in snobbish disgust because it just means I'm growing in some new way and not that anything I'm doing is inherently bad.
- - - - -
tagging (respectfully and without pressure) @sideguitars @fazedlight @inkedroplets if you want some rapid-fire q's thrown your way. but also anyone who wants to take a swing, i'd be jazzed to read the different answers

I'm "cool about Lionheart" in the same way Draco is "cool about his relationship with Hermione" in Lionheart, which is to say, not at all... it's freaking epic! You're doing an epic service to the Dramione fandom and you should know!
I want to ask so many questions about what's coming up in your rewrite of canon but I know that would be asking for spoilers so I won't...
Instead, as I'd also love to hear your thoughts on canon as this story is such an amazing canon rewrite, I want to ask at what point in canon, based on the way his character is portrayed, do you think Draco could have realistically had a turning point and switched sides / become friends with the trio / fallen in love with Hermione etc.? Or do you think that Draco in the original story wouldn't realistically be able to change enough for that to happen? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this as a Dramione fan and writer as I think it's something a lot of people struggle with with his character in canon.
this is such a wonderful ask! i am happy to discuss anything about the fic, and i will do my best to talk about its future without spoilers! questions are an indulgence for me, not a task. (fun fact about this question in particular: originally, when i was thinking of the idea for Lionheart, i wanted to do something with a draco-switching-sides rewrite starting around book 5 or 6, only to realize that the way I wanted to write draco in that fic just wouldn't be in-character without a lot of backstory that would be terribly clunky to try and exposit in media res. which prompted me to start thinking about ways that his character could be changed to reach that point, which made me think... you get the idea.)
To your point, I think Draco is a highly reluctant Death Eater — he's a pureblood supremacist, sure, but he's not dedicated to the cause or anything. mostly he's just a selfish fifteen-year-old kid who does what he's told and gets swept up in his parents' mistakes. if there's one thing about draco, it's that he does not make calls based on a moral compass: he makes calls based on what is best for Draco Malfoy, and possibly a very small circle of people beyond that (all of whom share his last name). it's one of the fundamental tenets of Draco's character: he's not a humanitarian. Even four years of relentless moral reformation in Lionheart can't really beat that out of him. It's just not how he thinks.
But that's actually a pretty convenient thing, if you want to start a redemption arc, because the thing is: if at any point the Order of the Phoenix had been able to offer Draco a better deal than the Death Eaters could, I think he'd have jumped on it. Draco does not want to be part of the war. he doesn't want his parents to be part of the war. arguably Lucius does, but by the time we see them in Book 6, both Narcissa and Lucius seem to be clearly horrified and regretful about the situation they've put themselves in. this is why I think fics like Disappearances and A Season for Setting Fires are such natural springboards for Draco's character — because both of their premises are fairly simple: "what if we just let Draco leave the Death Eaters?" That's all it takes! And that could happen at any time. Realistically, it probably wouldn't happen until Book 5 or 6, because that's the first time the Malfoys are actually called upon to serve Voldemort. But I think if anyone had been willing or able to put Draco in witness protection, he would've changed a lot as soon as he was removed from an environment where performing an earnest and violent belief in blood supremacy was literally necessary to his survival.
For instance, I've sometimes toyed with the idea of a canon divergence AU where Draco goes into Witness Protection at the end of Book 5 — Bending Light kind of has shades of this, though the sequel takes it in a very different direction — and ends up doing what he's doing for the first act of Disappearances, which is bumming around Grimmauld Place and basically annoying everyone until the horcrux hunt kicks in and his Black lineage creates a pretext to haul him along on the quest. That kind of environment is really easy to do redemption arcs in, because the characters are in a constant pressure cooker of stress and hormones and near-death experiences, which will trauma-bond the fuck out of them really quickly and get them fairly comfortable having Big Conversations after like, the third or fourth time they save each other's lives. It also makes for a much easier environment to fall in love, because it removes them from the normal context of Hogwarts and pureblood society and makes the stakes of socializing across class/House lines much, much lower — both for Hermione and for Draco. In fact, talking about this has kind of made me realize why Disappearances is such an incredible fic for me; I think it's possibly the most realistic Draco arc I've ever read. But anyway, if it were to happen earlier, then I think it would have to be outside the Hogwarts context — or maybe a Hogwarts where Draco's not in Slytherin. (Hey, speaking of which...)

Weekend WIP Game
tagged by @jesuisici33
Rules: List your WIPs below (if you only write one fic at a time, feel free to include future WIPs/ideas!) then answer the following questions. Then, tag as many people as you have WIPs (or more)
1. WIP List:
kid fic
untitled 5+1 thing of conversations TK had with Carlos's sisters (maybe?) - there's like half of one written, so it's sort of an unknown quantity
Knave 4 eventually
Secret is a strange thing for Paul and Nancy
2. Which of your WIPs is currently the longest?
kid fic I think - somewhere around 5,000 words
3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?
Knave 4. I don't even have to have started writing it to know that.
4. Which WIP is your favourite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?
I mean, I'm not really writing any of them at the moment because I'm still coming down from Knave 3, and I'm at the stage where everything I write feels like I'm repeating something I've already said somewhere else before.
5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?
Kid fic, because I have no idea where it's going
6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?
At the moment, all of them, because literally everything I have put on paper this week feels like I've written it before in another fic.
7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why?
Maybe the 5+1, just because I don't have siblings and I want to get that dynamic right
8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?
umm, all of them? Okay, maybe not Knave 4, but that's only because it exists basically only as a vague notion at the moment.
9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them?
Knave-verse, hands down. I think the OCs have taken over the show between Massey, and Tulson, and Amy, and the various cousins I've invented for Carlos.
10. Which WIP is the sexiest?
[eyes list] I'm gonna guess Knave 4 will be, just because there's probably not going to be a lot of sex in conversations TK has with Carlos's sisters, or in a 5+1 about being insecure about parenthood (okay, I suppose there could be sex in that one, but there probably won't be)
11. Which WIP is the angstiest?
Not Knave 4. I swear I am sending those boys on a caper. They have had enough angst.
12. Which WIP has the best characterisation (in your humble opinion)?
I mean, none of them really exist yet . . . so?
13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?
this is probably one of my weak spots as a writer. so i'm not sure tbh
14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on?
I think I've definitely been trying to write kid fic for the longest time
15. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for? Why?
Probably anything Knave-verse related, because they have become a whole universe now
16. Do you dream about any of your WIPs?
Not really. I do frequently go to bed, and then instantly have like whole paragraphs that unspool in my head and I have to roll over and type messy notes into my phone so I don't forget them.
17. Do any of your WIPs have particular complexities that your other fics don't?
Again, anything knave-verse related because it requires figuring out something semi-plausible for a heist. Although, also - not that I"m writing one right now because we're all on indefinite hiatus - but the seasons interstitials always involve so much trying to figure out time line shenanigans, and looking up things to do in Austin
18. Which WIP is the funniest or has the most humour?
Probably anything knave-verse related, although I try and incorporate humor into everything
19. Do any of your WIPs contain outside POVs or a deep dive on a character other than the main ship? How are you finding that process?
5+1 of TK talking to Carlos's sisters is definitely going to be told either all from Luisa's POV, or alternating Luisa and Ana.
20. Tell us one thing we don't know about one or more of your WIPs
Knave 4 - so okay, there was a news story that went around a while ago (not that long ago?) about a curator who was replacing paintings in museum inventory with forgeries (not even good forgeries! which let's be honest is the part that going to offend TK the most). And, one, I really want Carlos to have to go undercover as a curator to catch this guy. But, also, more importantly, two, when Carlos figures out that to pull it off he basically needs to think WWTKD (What Would TK Do) and loosens up and fakes at being TK, TK has a deep oh shit moment of what have I unleased on the world, and also that is so hot we need to go home right now, no like right right now or I'm going to do unspeakable things to you in public.
tagging @iboatedhere, @freneticfloetry, @ravens-words, and @carlos-in-glasses

for fic writer meme: 7, 18, 26, and 40, and feel free to answer for both fic and original work if you want :D
thank you!! :D
7: how do you choose which pov to write from?
in terms of 3rd/2nd/1st, usually i default to 3rd but some stories just...are meant to be 1st person, if that makes sense lol. like i have one original project where the mc gets possessed by a demon at some point and it's told in 1st person to like...really solidify the idea that they've become one person in a sense. in terms of which character the pov follows, that's just a result of blorboism LOL. in original works it's just...who the first character i conceived of was, usually. i'd say the protagonist but lets be real - nerissa is NOT the protagonist of osa. she's his older sister :p (she gets protag status by oes on account of getting herself killed so he doesn't have to put himself in harm's way anymore ofc)
18: do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? how do you come up with titles?
it really depends on the fic. sometimes i have a title before anything else. sometimes it comes midway through after i've written a particular line and been like "oh that's good, let's make that the title!" and sometimes it's well after the fact when i'm staring at the ao3 draft like what the fuck do i call you. i'd say usually it's the first scenario though, and then i try to work the title into the text somehow. i've taken inspiration from a lot of things for titles, but in general i like my titles to reference specific lines or motifs in the fic itself!
26: which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?
...pretty much any multichapter i've ever written LOL. i'll give a special shoutout to ratc and entanglement for being ideas that i was like "oh this will be like 10k words probably lol" and then turning into novels. entanglement in particular, for getting so long i had no choice but to divide it into chapters lmao
40: if someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
ok there are actually a lot HAHA. i was going to commission a piece of nerissa and poseidon from the scene in oes where they're sitting on the back step at emerson's house after poseidon accidentally possessed her. that's definitely one i'd love to see an artistic rendition of. and probably the final scene in oes, too, or the scene in osa where nerissa carries him out of the sea at namthi!
as for fic...i have a lot of fic, so i'll try to keep this short hjsdfhjdkf but in terms of recent ones...there's this scene from this year's christmas fic where goh kissed gary for the first time:
Tumblr media
or tbh...i'd love to see an artistic rendition of my palletshipping hanahaki au. y'know, for the flower imagery
or like ANY scene from sound sleepless, honestly. i love those quiet, late-night conversations (relatedly...a friend drew a scene out of common ground a few years ago, which i ADORE). the scene near the end with ash and lucario is also a fave of mine that i think would make a really sweet drawing.
there's also a scene in entanglement that i won't share bc it's big plot spoilers but it's one of those sappy "character a is crying and character b wipes the tears off their face" scenes we all know and love haha
ok i'll stop here but genuinely....there are so many. and i have received a few fanarts for scenes or character in osa that i love so, so much. and i would love any kind of art someone drew for something i wrote. i love that spirit of collaboration that comes out of things like that!!!

hi omg!! i've been dying to ask you about your wlw goyuu fic ever since you mentioned it in the summer ! catch your lady by her toes, iirc. ik sapphic stories aren't written much/don't get a lot of engagement (it's a vicious cycle) but i hope we can all read it some day :) aside from the sapphicness i'm really interested in reading about the strongest sorcerer being a woman (does gender REALLY matter when techniques are passed down??) and kenjaku choosing to have a daughter! cheerssss
Hello 💗
Ask away! I'm actually hella happy to hear that particular idea made a lasting impression. I've been nursing it to a bigger and bigger outline (it's 1.6k now) over the months. Still no clue when/if I'll manage to write it, but I sure as hell want to. Most of my F/F stories were original stories, and I haven't written any in quite a while. I definitely haven't written the kind of stories I now do for femlash.
Fair warning: my femlash is the same as my slash when it comes to porn-plot balance, which means we're looking at several chapters of kinky porn without any notable social commentary. It might sneak in—it tends to as part of the characterization whenever I write—but it won't be overt within the fic itself.
Gender has no effect on the strength of a CT or one's CE reserves, so Gojou's strength will be the same. Given what we've seen of the Zeni'in clan and Momo's speech to Nobara, I think we can say traditional jujutsu society does have a sexism problem that more or less reflects real-world sexism. I think gender would have affected the way Gojou was raised and socialized, but whether it'd take is a whole other matter. I think she'd still be the same as canon when it comes to her character and personality. Most of the change would be in how other people react to her and treat her. For instance, do you think Naoya's grudging respect for Gojou would carry over if Gojou were a woman? I doubt it.
As for Kenjaku, I genuinely don't think they'd give a fuck whether they have a son or a daughter. Their whole attitude to gender seems to be "Yes ❤". The only way I see them directly influencing the chromosome pair (assuming they have that kind of control over the baby batter) of the kid is if there's some connection to Sukuna's original body, which seems to be a popular theory thanks to the resemblance between Yuuji's looks and Sukuna's OG appearance (mostly the pink hair tbf, but well, that is very notable). I'm probably writing fem!Sukuna in this AU anyway though, not that I think she'll show up much.
...I typed all this and went to check my outline to see if there's anything I can share, and well, it's porn, porn, and more porn. If anyone wants that, shoot me an ask, but for now, here ya go:
Chapter 1 final scene: When answering Aoi's question about her type of men/women, Yuuji gives the usual response but cuts it off before the "like Jennifer Lawrence" part. Instead, she says "and I like Gojou-sensei" and decks Aoi's shocked* face. * Aoi is into it

fanfic writer questions
Thanks for the tag, @foibles-fables!
1- How many works do you have on AO3?
29!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
286,054!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Most frequently, Critical Role, though I still have a few WIPs in Horizon and Stray Gods that I absolutely intend to get back to eventually.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I'm fudging this question a bit, because the lower three are all the same series from back when I first started writing two years ago. Unsurprisingly, Sing for Me (SG, Rated E) and Prometheus Bound (HFW, Rated M) are the heavy hitters, followed by the Tilda POV series with a slightly more modest kudos count. After that comes Through Eyes of Grace (SG, Rated T) and Mutually Assured Destruction (HFW, Rated E).
5. Do you respond to comments?
I do! I think the only fic I didn't respond to most comments was When the Darkness Comes, since it was 30 chapters posted all at once. It somehow felt like skewing the stats (which I realize is silly; I'll likely respond to all comments on any on-going long-fics, after all). But yeah, I like to lavish love and gratitude and enthusiasm onto commenters, since they go out of their way to do the same for my stories~
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Prometheus Bound BY FAR.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably my entry for the Horizon Rare-Pair Round Up event: Radiance.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not to my face or in my fic comments. Or even out in the wild very much, to my knowledge.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yep! Enemies to enemies who FUC- I mean, lovers. A lot of focus on zoomed in physicality details and hard feelings from characters who would rather do anything than acknowledge their feelings (like idk hate fuck it out). I joke but I also have some softer smut for Stray Gods and my Moon Moms AU.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I never have!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Also not that I know of.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not yet, but my lovely friend @inomakani and I now have multiple fic ideas/drafts we like to scream at each other about, and we'll write them together as well, one day~
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
Do I even have to say it? I mean, I will happily shout it from the rooftops: IMOGEN/OTOHAN!
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Hmmm... There's an old draft called "Aloy is ticklish" that was a fluffy lil Aloy and the GAIA Gang+Talanah one-shot that I likely won't dust off ever again for no particular reason.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Succinct-ish but evocative setting description, I like to think. Internal feelings, and how they're expressed externally through small details in body language. And Tension, of course.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Dialogue; "would they say that??" is a recurring question for me.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I would do so if needed for characterization purposes!
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Horizon! Specifically, Horizon Forbidden West!
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Oh wow that's a hard one... Since I'm in the midst of plotting (and now writing!) its sequel, I'll say Let Me Lay Waste to Thee. It's my first (well, thee first) Imogen/Otohan fic that kicked off my love for this beautifully fucked up ship :3
It's a free for all tag, folks! So feel free to snag and tag me~

Hay dear, i want to know do you still accept a request for Ronin warriors .if so i'm really like this mini event and i want to Involved in this event. May i request ronin warriors x female reader HAREM/REVERSE HAREM. I'm also love polyrelatioship just like you dear.💋💋😍😍. I wish you all the best 🎂🧁, thankyou for this incredible lovely event you organize.
I will definitely accept this request! It's so very rare I ever get to write for Ronin Warriors that I couldn't not take the opportunity! I hope you'll enjoy the AU I came up with, which did get spicy adjacent at points, to warn everyone. Thank you so much for sending this in!!
Okay, so right off the bat, I'm going to admit that for this particular AU, I went really self-indulgent, though not in the particular way that most people would take that. Don't worry, you won't find self-inserts or anything in this AU. It is terrifically self-indulgent for me though. Anyone close enough to me to have learned about my original stories, that I've felt comfortable enough talking about those with, will have learned that most of all of my original works are either erotica or young-adult fantasy novels, and that even my erotica tends to veer more towards paranormal based.
This particular AU? If I was to sit and write it out, I would classify it as supernatural erotica with splashes of political drama. I won't get really graphic in any of the descriptions, so I probably won't hide this under a cut, but there are definitely going to be hints of spice and sex, so for anyone uncomfortable with that, this might be one of my posts you'll prefer skipping.
Another way it's super self-indulgent? I'll admit that the whole idea for this world and the plot does come from a failed original work (I started writing it as a series, for anyone interested, but ended up hating one of my original characters who was one of the major love interests, and I've been in fandom long enough to know that for a large majority of readers, he would have been the most popular of the love interests and I just quit because honestly just can't think of writing for that asshole ever again). I've also used the world and plot in various little drabbles or mini-fics for other fandoms, though I don't think I've ever published them anywhere, so yeah…this is a recycled idea, and not a horribly original idea even on its own as the genre is full of things like it, and I feel a little like I might have jipped you poor readers by doing that but I just couldn't resist.
So, to get into setting this up proper! This very much takes place in a fantasy world full of supernatural/paranormal creatures. All the different races tend to live separately, each having their own lands, ideals, and such. Different races do not tend to get along, and honestly, there's a lot of tension and unease in this world. Each race believes they are the superior beings, the ones who should be in charge of everything and cold, civil fights are waged, along with actual battle, between the races on a pretty regular basis. We enter this world when there really is a huge potential of all-out war between everyone as the races are all competing to be really the one unifying race, leading all the others into their ways of life and overseeing the fantasy lands.
You, the reader, are one of the Fair Folk, belonging to a darker Court of theirs. Your race is one of lust, sex, gluttony, sin in all it's forms… hedonistic pleasure in all ways, really - those very basic and primal urges that exist among even the most pure of races really are not only yours to control and manipulate but where your race draws their power from.
You were born the heir to the throne for this Court, for this land, and overall your race had always largely stayed out of the battles and wars, had been pretty neutral ground, largely interested only in those hedonistic pleasures. That was until the last High Liege had gotten onto the throne. They'd really thrown your race into the battle, something many had disagreed with, and after a stunning loss against another land, with many killed from your race, it was no surprise that an assassination attempt had led to the death of the last High Liege.
We start the story with your coronation, accepting the throne and new position of the High Liege. And unfortunately, you're not entering a really good place as the one in power. The moves and decisions of your predecessor had brought attention to your race, which was largely ignored by the other races before that. There too much potential for your land to be taken over, for your race to become mere servants for another Court or another race in general. And, though you know your race is powerful, you have to accept that in terms of political power or brute strength, you have none. Your throne, your people…they are all very much in danger and the story is really you, as this new ruler, trying to gain alliances, joining with other races, strengthening your political power and really becoming a ruler that is not only protecting their own people, but beginning to take shape into that grand ruler over all (which isn't really a position you had initially wanted, and your end political game is really just for everyone to be able to live as they wish, in peace and prosperity, without threats on their own people).
One last important thing to cover before I get into the alliances and such you form over the course of the story. Among your people, there is a very rare gift and it's one you have. It's only those who do possess it that can become a ruler. I called it the 'mating-bond', just because I suck at naming things but you can, through the act of mating with someone, mark them as yours. There's no limit to the amount of people you can bond with. Through forming this mating-bond, you not only bestow some of your powers, in a much diluted form, to them, but gain some of theirs. It shows them as being under your protection and allied to you. It also forms a unique mental bond - those you mate-bond with will always be able to sense you, your moods, roughly your whereabouts, whether you're in danger or not, and with the strongest of mate-bonds, there is some limited telepathy between the mates. It's also said, though you don't know if it's true as you've never heard anyone speak of it, that with the strongest of mate-bonds, where both fully accept the bond and there are actual feelings attached from both sides, that those mates will each accept that they will die without the other, should the other die or break the mate-bond in some magical way. The bond is shown as formed through marks each mate will leave on the others skin, like a tattoo.
I won't assign you a mark throughout the story, just because I kind of love the idea of any of you who like this idea enough to kind of imagine things with it, as being able to choose your own symbol that you best feel represents you but will say your mark stays the same no matter who it is on, is really a reflection of who you are.
Now, if it isn't obvious, a lot of your alliances are formed through the act of mate-bonding. You seduce, charm, beguile those in power of other races, bring about the idea of forming an alliance, of lending each other your powers and to show you're serious, you do take these other rulers as your mates.
I like to think of Ryo as the first mate-bond you make. He's the head of one of, if not the, largest race, since he is the Alpha for all the weres. It was a position won through not only his brute strength and power, but his love for his people and he's highly respected. The Weres will follow his lead and you know that alliance will be the most beneficial for you. I do think it's not a quick alliance, you really do need to spend a great deal of time with him, to the point where both of you do start to develop actual feelings beyond just knowing the other could prove useful. When you mate-bond with him, his mark shows as a crescent moon symbol between your collarbone and left breast. I will also say, since weres mate for life, you taking other mates and performing mate-bonds with others is really hard, especially at first for Ryo. Out of all the others, he does take it the hardest and is the least able to accept it, though he does begin to do so throughout the story. It still bothers him every now and again, but he does learn to accept it because he does love you, and he even forms true friendships and his own alliances, outside the ones he's forced into because of your mate-bond with, with those you choose to mate-bond with.
The next four aren't in any particular order, just because that's the one thing I really couldn't figure out, is what order these alliances would best strategically make sense in. So please forgive that!
Okay, this might not make sense to anyone else but me but hear me out here because I really do strongly see Kento as being a dragon. He's a very powerful Earth dragon, has amassed a large fortune, and because of his power, wealth, and his own love and care for dragon-kind itself, he is the leader and representative for Dragonkind. He's the least resistant towards forming an alliance with you. While he enjoys battle, he thinks it should be for sport, not for war, and he sees the use in alliances. That, and he always enjoys making a new friend, be they of any race. He's surprisingly very much not racist, though several dragons do have the reputation for being so. It causes quite a bit of trouble with his own people when he does mate-bond with you, though he quashes it through a tournament where he shows exactly how strong he is and his grace and benevolence towards even those who go against him and once again gains the respect of his kind. I do say he's also the most open to you taking other mates and he enjoys meeting and interacting with your other mates the most. For those wondering, his mark shows as a spiraling black mark, almost like a dragon's tail, going from your right ankle up to your right knee.
Cye is, probably rather predictably, definitely the ruler of the undersea. Not only the creatures of the undersea, but the merpeople as well. In a little change from what you would predictably think of as merpeople, I do see these merpeople as being, yes, half fish in the water. They have the tails and the power to breathe underwater. Most of the mer's can only really stay in that form, except for the royal family, who are born with the ability to transform into a more human shape once they are completely out of the water, allowing them to interact properly with land-dwelling creatures. Cye is rather hesitant to form an alliance with you at first, but he admits that he could use the alliance. The mer's have been under heavy fire lately, seen as an easy target, and due to the largely pacifistic nature of the mer's, they aren't really able to protect themselves. After getting you to swear an unbreakable oath that not only you, but the other mates you have that he meets, will help him protect his beloved people, he enters into the mate-bond. It's not out of love at first, though I do see him as a romantic who does grow to love you rather quickly, though he is the most kind and gentle towards you, even from the beginning. He, much like Ryo, does have some issues with how many mates you have, has some minor jealousy problems, but largely stuffs them down and does his best to get along. I see his mark as being a scallop shaped seashell, delicate but colourful, along the nape of your neck.
I see Rowen as being really in a very similar situation as you in a way. The Elvish Prince, heir to that throne, he was raised very, very sheltered. He has no real knowledge, except from books, of the other races and has never interacted with anyone outside of his own race. While the Elvish were, at one point, a largely peaceful people and most do still prefer to just keep to themselves, hidden inside their lands and never venturing outside, Rowen's father and the King, had seen merit in more brutal methods and believed the only way for everyone to have peace were if the long-living and wise Elves took care of all races. Much like yourself, we meet Rowen in the story as a very newly crowned ruler after a civil war among the Elves, who had found themselves divided pretty well among whether to follow or force the King off the throne. Obviously, the King had been forced off his throne and Rowen, next in line, is set to take his place. With so much civil unrest still, the Elves are in danger, both from themselves and outside sources and Rowen doesn't know who he can and can't trust, even among those closest to him. I think I see him as being the last of your mate-bonds with those of different races, and seeing the wisdom in an alliance with you and those you've mated with, he does accept your offer of an alliance and a mate-bond. He is, he admits, really taken back by becoming part of what really is a huge polycule but he throughout the story does become a wise ruler with you by his side, does fall in love with you, does gain meaningful friendships and bonds with the other mates. His mark is a beautiful flower in bloom, going from the top of one shoulder and wrapping around your waist.
Now, I feel the mate-bond with Sage is the one that takes the longest to happen. Sage is the Highmost Angel among that race. And let me make this clear, when I say angels, we're not going full biblical here. They aren't eternally pure, chaste, and innocent. These Angels can very much hold their own in terms of pure defensive and offensive power, but choose peace whenever possible. The only other neutral race besides yours in this world, the Angels try to just stay to themselves and watch things from afar. And though Sage sees your wisdom in reminding him that, as someone who is supposed to be from a neutral race yourself, if others see your race as a target or a threat, how long will be the Angels truly be able to remain neutral? If your neutrality as a race gets taken away by force, the other races will grow more emboldened and would target the Angels as well. And like I said, Sage sees the wisdom in that, but is not one to rush into things. He says he will consider your offer, but demands to travel with you and your mates before he accepts, so he can truly see the nature of you and those you surround yourself with. When he finally does grow to realize he loves not only you, but the freedom you and the others have given him, and when he does realize he couldn't imagine being without you or even the other mates, he does accept a mate-bond with you and his mark on you is a feather, going from your wrist up to your elbow on the inside of your arm.
Also, just because I am such a sucker for this trope. Anubis is a member of your race, a childhood friend of yours who grew to become your personal knight and bodyguard. I think the two of you have always had some degree of feelings for each other and have been lovers, since your race is so freely sexual, but the actual romantic feelings…you both felt them at times the other had given up on them and no longer felt them. On top of that, there really was the problem of being from two vastly different classes within your race, you the heir to the throne and him one of the more common people. An actual mate-bond with him? It would have been highly looked down upon, especially amongst your own race, and would have proved no usefulness in the matters of issues with the other races. He accompanies you throughout the whole story and he finds himself growing angrier and more jealous with each new mate you take. He does confront you about it eventually, once he wakes up to the fact that no, you had never been just a casual lover of his, he does love you and he becomes, in a night of fiery passion that neither of you can really control, your final mate-bond. He's the most jealous and protective of you out of your mates. His mark on you is a set of three small red stars, running along one of your cheekbones.

a little something about ...
... me.
Hi, everybody 🙋🏻‍♀️ My name is Amanda, I'm 24 and a fairly new SuJu fan. I love reading kpop fanfic (and SuJu fanfic in particular) and I noticed after a while that I had read - almost - every piece of fanfic there was, at least in English. Also I noticed that the majority of fanfic is a little bit older. 😅 So without further ado I decided to do something about it. It's the reason I'm writing you this now. My goal is to write fun, gooey, sappy fanfic and imagines, short and long stories, and anything else my mind might come up with. Although I'm not a native English speaker, I would say I'm fluent enough to make almost zero mistakes. Since this is literally the beginning, I only have a few ideas in my mind about what I want to write, so in the process I would love it for the readers who enjoy my fics to contribute ideas for future fics.
There are however a few things I won't write about or incorporate in my stories. I've thought long about if I should even mention this, but in the end I decided that it would only be right to make my standpoint clear. Please know that I am in no way trying to piss off anyone, it's just that my ideals may differ from yours.
Things I won't write about include:
Eunhae
members being romantically linked amongst each other
weird kinks
I might add something in the future but for now these are my only red flags.
Since Donghae is my bias, actually my ultimate bias 😍, the majority of stories will be centered around Donghae, but I also have a soft sport for Yesung, Siwon, Leeteuk and Kyuhyun too, so they will probably also get their own stories at some point.
I think that's about it. If I forgot something, please drop something in my ask. I will definitely read and reply to your messages. 🙏

I have come to the realization that my reaction to that "which author has the funniest/worst opinion about fandom" post is probably a little disproportionate.
It's worth talking about why. But there's no need to hijack that particular post to do it.
The thing is, I always have a knee jerk reaction to posts that mock/decry authors for disliking fanfiction because I remember what happened when Anne McCaffrey died.
So Anne McCaffrey, if you don't know, was a science fiction author who, among many other books, wrote a series about people who ride dragons on a distant planet.
This obviously is the kind of idea that captures fan interest immediately. So there were and are a lot of people who want to play in Ms. McCaffrey's universe.
Ms. McCaffrey, throughout her life, has had varying opinions about fanfic as other related fan content with regard to her universe. At one point, she was opposed entirely. At another, she was cautiously okay with it, but not with her characters. She also had some odd and draconian rules when it came to role playing games.
To put it simply: she was a pain in the ass.
I do want to clarify: I do not agree with Ms. McCaffrey's stance(s). I think, personally, that fan creations are the moral right of the fans. The LEGAL right, I think, might be a gray area. I'm no intellectual property attorney, so I won't weigh in on that aspect of things. I do, however, support the idea of anyone writing or reading fanfic for anything that they enjoy on general principle.
But I think, sometimes, fans can be really ugly about it.
See, Ms. McCaffrey died in 2011. And that day, fandom got nasty. There were all kinds of celebratory posts saying "We can write fanfic now! Yay!"
And honestly, my view of fandom has never been the same.
I support fanfic. I love fanfic. I agree with the idea that fans should be able to write fanfic even if the author doesn't like it.
But to celebrate someone's DEATH because NOW you get to play in the sandbox SHE created?!
There's something WRONG with that!
Look, whether or not we like an author, whether or not we agree with them or think they're a good person, they still CREATED this thing that we're so passionate about that we want to write fic for in the first place.
Without McCaffrey, there is no Pern. Period. Whatever joy (or revulsion) that the stories and concepts give you, that comes from her. And she was a real human being.
She deserves better than to have people celebrate her death because she had an inconvenient stance on fanfiction.
So yeah, any time I see one of those "ha-ha, this author said something negative about fanfic! What a hypocrite!" posts, it reminds me that fandom, for all its talk about not treating fanfic authors as soulless content creators, thinks nothing of doing the same thing to the original authors whose work is the thing that brought us together.

Still answering questions to the Friday Night Fun thing? If yes, then 6, 8, 10, 11.
Answering five weeks late, but yes! Thanks for the ask, and I hope you see the answer.
6. What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?
I don't know, sorry! I don't think anything I come up with is particularly angsty (Lulu is shaking her head at me right now.) Maybe because I can always imagine a happy or happy-ish ending.
8. Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?
Some here, here, and here. I've talked about lifetime movie sex (it has roses!) before, which I definitely want to finish. One day.
Also a continuation to the Atar verse, in which Galadriel brings Halbrand to Eregion, convinced he's Sauron (he's not in this). The real Sauron is tied up in the corner (being Gil-daddy's baby and all - this story would be smut) and steaming. Probably starts talking about how he knew Sauron in Almaren and Halbrand's not Sauron, not nearly hot or smart enough, SNL Kylo Ren Undercover Boss style ("I heard the real Sauron had an eight pack"), till Gil shoves a pacifier in his mouth. Would also include something about the tRoP Adar. So many imposters, poor Sauron!!!
On the gen-ish side, a story in my head that's known by the very boring name of Sad Celebrimbor Fic, which would be a prequel to Bones in which Celebrimbor is sad and moping in Valinor after his rebirth. Some worldbuilding, Celebrimbor meeting relatives, getting in catty academic fights, and discovering Aman's romance publishing industry, writing some of his own (thinly veiled expies; he refuses to acknowledge this). Sauron would be very present but never mentioned by name or explicit acknowledgement until the very last few sentences, when Celebrimbor thinks his name, curls his lips, and leaves for brunch and daydrinking.
10. Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
Answered here and here, and tropes are difficult for me to think of so I don't have further answers lol. Sorry!
11. Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?
Also answered here, but I am nothing if not a hater! I mentioned found family in that ask, but I'll expand on that more because the way it's written in fanfic (pan-fandom) often makes me genuinely uncomfortable - so often toxic or outright abusive behaviors are presented as healthy and desirable. I'm all in favor of toxic behaviors by characters in fanfic, but I like the author to know it, you know? I have some thoughts about how this manifests in this fandom in particular, but won't go into them in the interest of not being too negative or verbose (this post is long enough!) - hit me up in private if you want thoughts (throwaway account fine! I have tumblr dms open to all, though I can't promise I'll respond immediately because I don't check tumblr daily and am gone from it for several day or week periods at times).
Actually, on the last bit, I have anon asks enabled and I'm so sorry that if anyone without a tumblr account wants to communicate with me privately they no longer can through that. But if you do have an account, even if you don't use it, anon is cool!

I don’t know how to phrase this ask properly 😭 but how do you like… know nart and write fics when u’ve not read or watched it? I’m so confused. (I don’t mean this rudely or anything I’m genuinely????? Because there is So much. How????? Im actually flabbergasted this is so wild to me😭 😭 😭)
Don't worry, I'm not offended! I've been asked this before and I'm always happy to talk about it.
The short answer is that I don't need to know canon to feel comfortable in a fandom space or to consume the works made by and for that fandom.
The long answer is much, much longer so I'm putting it behind a cut.
There are two parts to why I'm like this, and the first one is the fandom I started out in.
My first fandom was the X-Men and I began with the very first X-Men comic - The X-Men #1. (Yes, it was published in 1963. Yes, I'm fandom old… 🤣) From there I jumped to the wider Marvel comics universe as a whole.
And with every new storyline, with every change in the creative team, I just accepted the stories as they came.
When people died, often several times over (Jean Grey, I am looking at you), when they time travelled, met their alternate selves, became villains, became heroes, changed their costumes/personalities/de-aged/became old/got married/forgot they were married/pretended they forgot they were married (Vision, whyyyyyy), I just kept reading.
I got used to the idea that the characters were always the same characters but that they'd be constantly changing, be written differently by every new writer, and that they were always in flux.
This meant that - to me - canon wasn't a stable static thing. No, it was a fluid amorphous collection of ideas, simultaneously recognised by creators, publishers, and fans alike.
Because fans have always had an impact on comics.
Dead characters come back because fans want to read about them again and creators are keen to make it happen. Characters are redeemed to become heroes or fall to become villains because fans want to read those stories and creators want to tell them. Characters get spin off mini-series (and sometimes whole series) because fans will buy those comics.
Fans are a crucial part of the creative process.
I've always accepted transformative work - because what else is a new creative team coming in to make Jane Foster the new Thor but a stunning piece of transformative work? - as an equal to canon.
Because, to me, it is.
I consume both kinds with equal facility and ease, without thinking of either as less than the other.
Here's the second part - I will follow professional creators from story to story, from series to series, and enjoy it because I like their style.
I won't like every work, probably not, but there's a high probability that I will enjoy at least some of them and I'll buy those works because of it.
Because I like Honor Harrington, I've also read David Weber's Safehold series. Because I like the Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey, I've also read her Heirs of Alexandria series and her Five Hundred Kingdoms stories. Because I love Sandman, I've also read Good Omens (multiple times, it is excellent), Neverwhere, Stardust, and American Gods. Because I love Summer Wars, I've also made it a point to watch other films by Mamoru Hosoda, including Wolf Children and Mirai. I fell in love with Inception and then went on to watch other Christopher Nolan films - some were to my taste (Dunkirk, The Dark Knight Rises) and others were not, but I still try and catch them in cinemas where I can.
I don't think that's unusual behaviour.
But I also treat fan work in exactly the same way.
I'll follow a fan author from fandom to fandom, reading stories to see if the new fandom is to my taste. Sometimes, it's not - no harm, no foul, kink tomato - but all to often it is, and that is entirely because of the strength of that author's writing.
Most of the time I don't even touch canon - why would I when I'm here for this author's particular interpretation of it? I don't need to know canon when the author builds the world of their story so beautifully it stands on its own.
And, if by chance the fandom is so much to my taste that I want to consume other works in it, there are other fan work creators! All of them easily accessible! It's marvellous!
I never worry that the works I'm reading are out of character for canon, because I don't care about canon.
For me, reading fanfiction is just like reading original fiction.
Now writing it is quite another matter.
I didn't know that I was going to be writing in the Naruto fandom. My first story in this fandom was supposed to be a 1600 word joke fill for a prompt that wouldn't leave me alone.
But hey, somehow, people asked me what happened next, I knew the answer so I wrote it, and then the whole thing snowballed.
That meant that my ideas of how the world of Naruto worked and what the characters were like was entirely based around fanfiction I'd read.
I acknowledged that at the end of Escape and Evade:
I always intended for this to be a little story, written just for me, because I couldn’t get a drabble from nirejseki and a comment from YumiStar out of my head.
But, along the way, it’s become a bit more than that for me.
I haven’t written fan fiction since 2005 and this has stretched me in ways that I’m not even sure I know yet.
And it’s in a fandom whose cannon I have never actually watched or read.
Which means that my understanding of these characters who I have come to love, is based entirely on the amazing work of the authors who put their time and effort into sharing their stories with the world.
This story is quite literally my love letter to Founders Era Naruto Fandom.
Truly, my little effort stands on the shoulders of giants.
So here I am, and Courting Culture Confusion has become a 648,934 word reboot of Naruto (it's still not over, I'm still publishing a new chapter daily) which means that I have to think about canon! Because how can I reboot it when I don't know what's going on?
And the answer to that is I ask other fans.
As with most fandoms, all I have to say is "I'm thinking about writing this character, would anyone care to tell me what they're like?" and at least six people will pop up to give me their opinions. From there, I'll try and figure out how to make them into a cohesive whole that also matches with what's available in narutopedia (thank you to everyone who works on that, I could not write without it as a handy reference!) and then I sit down to write.
It's really that simple.
So how can I write without knowing canon?
Because you know canon and you're willing to tell me.
Thank you. 💚

What does the post ending of 'The Holiday-Dreemur Kids' look like? How does it compare to what's featured in 'So I'm Waiting For The Teeth' and 'Dear Dess, Love Asriel'? You're are genuinely my favorite deltarune author and 'i know i'm not well (but i'm alright)' is by far my favorite deltarune fic (and in my list of all time fav fanfics) and I would LOVE to know what if any future you've envisioned for the cast?
ok well first off THIS IS SO SWEET THANK U SM......i dunno it always makes me so happy 2 know people return to my fics and me being your?? favorite?? deltarune author???? wild.
n all honestly i didnt really envision any sort of future once i finished up the series, i essentially see both homegrown hearts (for the kids) and dess, after (for dess n azzy) as the futures for the cast as i wrote them in i know i'm not well! this means theres a Whole Lot Of Life unaccounted for yes lol but that leaves it open for you to decide! they made it through the hardest part now they get to live their lives.
tho i will say some cute things ive always sort of pictured would be ralsei going to high school w the rest of the fun gang...she gets out of the dark world pretty early so she's got like, two or three years of high school experiences. i imagine kris susie and noelle really run with the bit of ralsei being a foreign exchange student (from their school's closet) just to see how far they can push it. i doubt they're super secretive about the dark worlds after this tho lol once ralsei gets out its like. why keep the worlds separate?
all the kids are way more mentally healthy here lol since they wouldve worked out the worst of their stuff earlier! im not sure what they'd do as adults...kris and noelle sharing a dorm room is still the funniest thing EVER to me. i also really like the idea of ralsei studying religion...as someone who doesnt study religion idk exactly what that would look like, but i think she'd find it really interesting and really relate to the idea of finding meaning in a world, though im not sure i see her as being like. actively religious herself after the dark worlds. i just feel like studying it is a way for her to forgive her past self, in a way? for how she clung to the prophecy. dunno. might do something with this idea one day. probably not, but we'll see.
on the dess and asriel side of things, asriel would meet chara! in this universe xe was dess's friend first but xe and azzy would hit it off too. asriel and dess playfully fight over xir and chara thinks it is very stupid (xe can have two friends!) but also won't complain about the pair of them doing all the chores xe doesnt want to do lol. i feel like prooooobably one big difference would be chara and azzy not having a qpr? that's an idea i like which is why i explored it in dear dess, love asriel, and i like xir having one with dess which will be seen in the dess raises kris au, but for this particular universe i think both dess and azzy being there means theyre all just close friends! chara doesnt let dess babysit though. dess is fine with this. she is not a huge fan of being responsible for children lol.
dess and kris continue to repair their relationship. for missing so many of kris's birthdays theres a good ten year span where dess goes super all-out. probably plans a surprise party that kris 100% knows about but thinks is really sweet so they dont say anything until the very end.
but thats just a few ideas i came up with! none of these would ever be written in any way bc i cant see myself writing more for the holiday-dreemurr kids universe...those stories are over and while i hope to write more deltarune stuff in the future (i have a LOT of ideas for the dess raises kris au), these particular fics are all in the 'it's free real estate' territory. their futures are whatever you could picture!
