The Things Only My Notebook Knows - An Intro
I’m 15 years old, turning 16 next February. I’m at an age where you just want to have normality, you don’t want to have to deal with all the issues life throws at you. But we all deal with those things, this is my perspective.
I have PTSD, it’s been one my lifes biggest battles since I was 12. PTSD for me didn’t only come with normal symptoms, it came with psychosis according to my doctors. Psychosis, the number 1 battle.
When I was younger I loved the trope of hearing and seeing things that weren’t there, in fact I adored it. I wanted to live it, it seemed so cool so unique. But now experiencing it, it’s terrifying.
My hallucinations and delusions used to be only of my past abuser, but now it’s grown. It’s grown to everything, telling what’s real and what’s fake has become a battle. A battle that I’m fighting, one that I’ll tell the whole world about. Because this is important. This is my reality, a real thing that people don’t understand, that people are afraid of.
I’m Mason, I’m 15 and psychotic. I’m not afraid to be who I am, and it’s time I told my story.

"𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀, 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗺. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲.” 🌼Words on Bathroom Walls by Julia Walton ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 304 pages this novel is a humorous but realistic look at mental health issues (specifically schizophrenia is this novel) with a journal entry narration style (where the main character is writing to his therapist). I read this beautiful story the other day for the first time after watching the movie trailer on youtube and It ended up being so much better than I was expected . It is an incredible book about a young boy with schizophrenia and how he deals with overcoming it. I really enjoyed that Adam (the main caracter) could talk and interact with his hallucinations. I also loved how the author delt with his friends finding out about his disorder at the end. This book tugged on my heart, made me laugh, think, reflect on my own life. It was beautifully done and i will read whatever she puts out next! It was more than I could have asked for with hilarious characters (both real & hallucinations), authentic accounts about Mental Health challenges/stigma, exploration of how mental illness impacts our relationships, honest portrayals of medication trials, all while highlighting the importance (& immense challenge) of being vulnerable...of letting trusted people into our weird little worlds. and since Im a sucker for mental illness books especially when done accurately yet interesting. I gave it 4 stars and i will certainly watch the movie adaptation ( ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)! 🧠💚 #wordsonbathroomwalls #wordsonbathroomwallsmovie #juliawalton #schizophrenia #mentalillness #psychosisawareness #schizoaffective #schizophreniaawareness #MentalHealthReads #YAMentalHealth #BookReview #Bookstagram #ILoveReading #BookRecs #HighlyRecommend #MentalHealth #StopTheStigma #UpcomingMovie #booktomovie https://www.instagram.com/p/CD82nxLHYBE/?igshid=1hx0kgv639510

This picture was drawn by my Son Ryan who sadly took his own life in March this year and it depicts the reality of the demon inside his mind while suffering with Psychosis. It shows him standing in the background while the manifestation of his psychosis is standing in the forefront and totally taking over his presence of mind. The word 🄿🅂🅈🄲🄷🄾🅂🄸🅂 is used to describe conditions that affect the mind, where there has been some loss of contact with reality. 🆘 Three out of 100 people will suffer with Psychosis at some point in their lives. 🆘 Psychosis is a condition characterised by hallucinations, both auditory (hearing things that aren’t being said), and visual (seeing things that aren’t there). 🆘 Psychosis can include paranoia or delusions (believing in something that is not real even when presented with facts). 🆘 Psychosis often begins when a person is in their late teens to mid-twenties. 🆘 Psychosis can be a symptom of a mental illness or a physical condition. 🆘 Psychosis can be caused by some medications, alcohol or drug abuse, or from the psychological trauma of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. 🆘 Psychosis affects people from all walks of life. 🆘 People suffering with Psychosis are not dangerous; it is more likely these people will harm themselves than someone else. 🆘 People suffering with Psychosis are not Schizophrenic, but people with Schizophrenia can also have Psychosis. 🆘 It is important to help a person with psychotic symptoms get treatment as quickly as possible. 🆘 Psychosis, like other disorders, can be successfully treated and most people make a good recovery and have their symptoms disappear. 🆘 Early intervention is the key in diagnosis and treatment of Psychosis. If you or someone you know is suffering with Psychosis please reach out to your GP. and get an urgent referral into the Mental Health services. . . . . . #psychosis #psychosisawareness #schizophrenia #hallucinations #delusions #schizophreniaawareness #mentalhealthawareness #suicideprevention #childhoodsexualabuseawareness #ryancooleylegacy https://www.instagram.com/p/B1ZJNifH2cf/?igshid=quisy6ymuvme

They're coming to take me away!" c.2006-ish. Not a very good painting, but I was trying to capture the memory of a situation from 1998. I've mentioned in other paintings that in the summer of '98 my psychiatrist forgot to get me refills for my meds before going on a 2 week vacation. While my family and therapist were trying to get a hold of him, I fell back into psychosis. In this painting it was evening, and there were cops driving up and down our little street. I thought they were coming for ME. For no reason. But I got off the couch. The lights were already off but the TV was on and I thought they'd see me. I hid in the dark behind the couch and soon my parents came home (I'd been home alone). They told me the cops were gone after I said why I was hiding. In the painting I'm in the lower center area. That's what my living room looked like at the time, lit by the TV. Couldn't go back to college in the fall because of this. That's the 2nd time I'd had to drop out. All because of one doctor. #art #psychosis #darkart #literallydark #acrylicpainting #rushed #notverygood #butitgetsthepointacross #psychosisawareness #schizophreniaawareness #actuallyschizophrenic #schizophrenic #nomeds #baddoctors #paranoia #paranoid #delusion #paranoiddelusion #delusional #cops (ACAB, btw) #theyrecomingtotakemeaway #ohno #acrylic #painting https://www.instagram.com/p/CgnE84PP8z2/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Repost •@borderlineandbipolarjourney Awareness for Borderline personality disorder. @what.is.mental.illness Drop 💜💜💜 to raise awareness about Borderline Personality Disorder! You’ve probably saw and heard a lot of stereotypes and misconceptions about BPD from people you know or from the media. People with BPD face the struggles of the condition on a daily basis, and on top of that often experience stigma, discrimination, isolation and insults. Most of what’s written about BPD doesn’t sound overly positive with many being portrayed as manipulative, hopeless and dangerous, which is NOT TRUE AT ALL. BPD is still highly stigmatized so here’s a chart to help you know what BPD actually is! It’s important to note that not all people with BPD are the same. Just because you had a bad experience with someone with BPD doesn’t mean you’II have a bad experience with other people with BPD. 🤍 Source: Borderline in the act • • • #bipolardisorderawareness #bipolarawareness #bipolardisordertype1 #bipolardisordertype2 #bipolardepression #hypomania #mania #psychosisawareness #borderlinepersonalitydisorder #borderlinepersonalitydisorderawareness #mybpdlife #mybipolarlife #bipolartype1 #mentalillnessawareness #eupd #bipolartype2 #borderlineandbipolarjourney #trauma #emotionallyunstablepersonalitydisorder #eupd #depression #mentalillness #mentalhealthmatters #eatingdisorderawareness #mentalhealthawareness #anxiety #livingwithmentalillness #understanding #bipolarsupport #borderlinepersonalitydisorderrecovery #cptsd (at South Africa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSlooY3syVU/?utm_medium=tumblr

@borderline_and_bipolar_life Just a bit of awareness... people have no idea. People turn a blind eye. Depression and anxiety has turned into a fashion statement yet other mental illness disorders go unnoticed. 2020 has been hard for the average person but think about the likes of us. YOU HAVE NO IDEA! I’m not talking about those who have suffered a loss of life as they have suffered immensely too of course. But to those who have depression and anxiety and 2020 triggering depression and anxiety, be grateful your 2020 hasn’t been as bad as a lot of other people. People with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, personality disorders, eating disorders, ptsd, cptsd and many more. Peoples lives have changed in 2020. But for mental illness sufferers, severe mental health sufferers life has been unfathomable. #bipolardisorderawareness #bipolarawareness #bipolardisordertype1 #bipolardisordertype2 #bipolardepression #hypomania #mania #psychosisawareness #borderlinepersonalitydisorder #borderlinepersonalitydisorderawareness #mybpdlife #mybipolarlife #mentalillness #mentalillnessawareness #eupd #emotionalinstability #borderline_and_bipolar_life #borderpolar #emotionallyunstablepersonalitydisorder #eupd #borderpolarsupport #mentalillness #mentalhealthmatters #eatingdisorderawareness #mentalhealthawareness #wematter #bpdmetoo #bipolarsupport #borderlinepersonalitydisorderrecovery https://www.instagram.com/p/CJXOLTplG66/?igshid=13oxapkuogapb

Published in the journal Psychological Medicine, their new study is the first to demonstrate that a single dose of CBD may partially boost activity in two parts of the brain, the prefrontal, and mediotemporal cortices, in people with established psychosis. To source their results, the research group gave 13 people, who had all been diagnosed with psychosis, one 600mg CBD capsule each. After a few hours, every participant underwent a word association memory test while their brain was scanned with a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) machine. To act as a control group, 19 other participants were also scanned under identical conditions, but without any drug administration. The researchers found that when the participants with psychosis were given the dose of CBD, the activation in their prefrontal and mediotemporal brain areas became more like the activation seen in the control group. These brain regions are often associated with decision making and conscious memory, and their over- and under-activation have been reported in individuals with schizophrenia, as well as in those at risk.
