Someone should write a fic about adult ‘Mikkun’ and ‘Tomo’ watching the broadcast and recognizing Tomura as the kind little boy that used to play with them as children. Like can you imagine the confusion, disbelief and maybe even grief if they believed that he had died with the rest of his family all this time? The dissonance between their memory of Tenko and the villain he grew up to become? I think this is an interesting concept to explore.

Imagine if one of them grew up to be a hero and died in the beginning of the war and the other hated Tomura and the League because of it only to be slapped in the face with this revelation? I’m going insane.

Everyone thinks James Potter is a player and a cocky prick, but in reality—if you were lucky enough to get a chance to go into his bedroom—you’d see it’s covered in movie and band posters, lego figures, Minecraft and LOTR sword replicas and lightsabers, he’d only wears graphic t-shirts, and he still has all his stuffed toys from childhood. He also aggressively dances to Easy Lover by Phil Collins to hype himself up for any of his dates.

as much as i love serious no-nonsense alhaitham, i like to imagine him engaging in silly little mock arguments in different languages with a haravatat or vahumana reader that he (privately) considers one of his dearest friends. he probably spins it as a learning opportunity for both of you ("conversation is a good way to properly grasp the nuances of conversation and the little linguistic gimmicks of a language, after all") but in all honesty? alhaitham enjoys just being able to indulge in what he'd normally consider "pointless" or "childish" behavior with someone he knows won't judge him for it, and will enthusiastically join in when he offers.

(and as a personal plus for him: not only does it give him an outlet for every niche tidbit of history he's accumulated over the years in order to create not only incredibly witty responses that are also factual and accurate to the time period, but also, your company is exactly what he needs after a long day at work. there's no better pick-me-up than hearing you try to hide your snort when he drops a particularly hard line. he's glad you think he's funny. your joy is a wonderful sight to see.)

he treasures the moments where he can sit beside you, trading light jabs and in-character insults at each other in your private corner of lambad's tavern. to alhaitham, it's moments like these that remind him that there's more to life than just his work, his hobbies, and himself.

good food, good drinks, and good company mark the end of most of alhaitham's days, and his heart always leaves the tavern full and content with the promise of seeing you again soon, safe and whole and happy, in the table you've always saved a seat for him at since your days in the akademiya.

(can be read as platonic or romantic! either way, alhaitham cares greatly for you and enjoys the times you can spend together, even when it's mostly spent trading insults in languages both of you have varying levels of mastery in lmao)

sun summoner!kaz au where he was exposed on a job with the crows after they got separated.

of course the ravkans send someone for him, and to prevent inej and jesper from getting hurt, he goes with them. he orders them to stay in ketterdam and make sure the dregs stay in control of the Barrel while he figures out how to get home.

he befriends genya at the little palace, and a very clever girl called nina who speaks kerch. they tell him to keep a low profile and do what the Darkling wants before going home. Kaz takes their advice. for the most part.

he insists on wearing a white kefta, matching with genya. he tells the Darkling it’s because he’s a servant of Ravka, here to make the world a better place. he uses the color to slip unnoticed most everywhere on the palace grounds.

his sessions with Baghra are spent learning about the Darkling and the Ravkan throne just as much as they’re spent teaching him how to control the light he produces.

he’s still no closer to getting back to ketterdam.

nina tells him about a first army unit that’s arrived to the palace, one that’s supposed to track an amplifier for him. he thanks her then sheds his kefta and picks up a rifle.

it’s harder to blend into the unit than he thought. malyen oretsev does not leave him alone, and will not take his suggestions to head west towards the sea. alina starkov agrees with malyen on every turn.

the Darkling sends a search party for him. it was inevitable, he thinks. it’s not everyday the supposed “servant of Ravka” disappears from the palace. Kaz is just lucky no one has seen his face yet.

eventually, the unit he’s running with finds Morozova’s stag, the amplifier they’re tracking. it’s harder to explain where the new necklace he’s acquired came from and where the stag has gone the next morning, but he’s not the bastard of the barrel for nothing.

Sing Pets in Human AU

My favourite part of writing human AUs? Giving characters pets! Here are some of the pets I think characters would have and that will appear in my fic!

Johnny: Olive the Dog

- rescued her 2 years before Sing 1 as a puppy when he found her in an alley.

- she likes to run beside his skateboard and play tag with him, has kinda trained herself to help with his anxiety.

Ash: Taquito the Turtle

- bought/rescued him from a bad pet store.

- stays with Eddie during Sing 2 so he can be looked after, and will seemingly follow people around in his tank.

Meena: Sunny the Bird

- her mom got Sunny for Meena as a birthday present 3 years before Sing 1.

- they will sing along when Meena sings in the house and when she’s upset as well.

Buster and Eddie: Koala the Chinchilla 

- Eddie got her for Buster after Buster kept talking about getting a pet koala.

- will just curl up on Eddie’s lap when he’s playing games or in Buster’s when he’s reading.

Barry and Stan: Samuel/Steve the Cat

- rescued as a kitten after Olive brought him to the garage covered in oil.

- Barry and Stan argue about his name all the time while he just likes laying on top of cars in the garage.
