okay… this was supposed to be a quick and easy answer.
i use social maker. i’ve had it since 2020. it’s my personal favorite smau app and a highly recommend it. it’s pretty easy to use and you’ve got a lot of options on what you can do with it.
but, i was trying to get screenshots of it in the app store to show what app it was and…low and behold it got banned??
only people who have had the app downloaded before can use it unfortunately 😭
i feel bad leaving you hanging like that, so! i went on a trip to find an easy to use, nice-looking smau app!

This is another app that you had to have downloaded before it got taken down to use it. I think it’s a really good SMAU app! Especially if you wanna do stuff outside of messages!! (twitter, instagram, youtube, etc.) The messaging system runs pretty smoothly, the only thing is that the max amount of messages is very short.

This app is a bit outdated in my opinion. It’s kinda hard to use since you can’t exit out of the keyboard and get a clean picture of your messages. Also, when you close the app it doesn’t save ANY of your things. (That caused me a lot of trouble making this actually 😭). You can also only make two characters. However, it has good customization!! It has a very cute look and you can change the background + text colors. It’s also really easy to switch between characters which is always nice.

This is the app that Social Maker actually made after their OG app was taken down! It’s, unfortunately, not super great in my opinion. I got really confused when I tried using it, even with a tutorial. Once you get the hang of it, it’s alright. The app just feels overly complicated. However, if you want to make SMAUs mainly with big group chats then this app might be pretty good for you!

By far the worse app among them all. It just reeks of money-greedy creators. An add plays after almost every action you do. (From customizing characters to sending messages, an add always plays) It was also quite confusing to use and you’re limited to three characters. There isn’t much you can customize either and it has a 5 message max. Also, it made me a bit uncomfortable because the three default profiles you have to edit to change into the characters you want included Trump and Elon… Yeah 💀. Not to mention that a lot of the adds were filled with AI videos that were just uncanny valley. Back on topic! The app locks a lot of features behind a paywall that doesn’t even seem worth it. I wouldn’t recommend it.

In terms of making SMAUs on tumblr, I wouldn’t recommend it. But, if you were interested in making texting story videos and/or publishing them on YouTube, this would be a good option! There’s a lot of opportunities for videos as it can automatically give you a video of you typing both sides. The typing sound is also pretty satisfying to me! Unfortunately, it’s not the best for tumblr SMAUs. There isn’t really any customization— you can’t even add a profile picture.

Okay, I did legitimately save the best for last. This app is pretty great. It’s easy to catch onto and gives you A LOT of customizable options: background, text color, group chat cover, etc. Also, there’s an option for it to automatically take screenshots of the text which is just so convenient?? But there is a pretty big downside. You can only make two characters. That really sucks.
I think that if you want to make 1 on 1 SMAUs similar to mine, this would be a good app to use. It’s gonna be annoying having to remake the profiles and what not, but I think the pros out weight the cons.

The ex-head chef of Hotel Debord, renowned throughout Fontaine as the Patissiere Supreme and vanguard of precision gastronomy. Has incomparably strict standards when it comes to cooking.
◆ Escoffier is a support character who can consistently reduce Hydro and Cryo RES, provide healing, and deal Cryo DMG even while off-field.
Escoffier's Elemental Skill deals Cryo DMG to nearby opponents at intervals.
Her Elemental Burst regenerates HP for all party members and deals AoE Cryo DMG to nearby opponents.
Her Talent can also reduce opponents' Hydro and Cryo RES. The more characters of the corresponding Elemental Type in the party, the stronger the effect.
4-Star Character "In the Wake of Wandering Winds" Ifa (Anemo)
◇ Vision: Anemo
◇ Weapon: Catalyst
A vet from the Flower-Feather Clan who cherishes the life he leads alongside all manner of living things — people, animals, you name it.
◆ Ifa is a DPS character who excels at aerial combat and has healing capabilities.
When casting his Elemental Skill, he enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state, in which he can hover in mid-air or move rapidly. During this period, Ifa fires a Tonicshot that restores HP for the entire party. When Ifa is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, he can also increase the Swirl and Electro-Charged DMG dealt by all party members.
His Elemental Burst deals AoE Anemo DMG and generates a wind current that pulls in opponents.
II. New Equipment
New Weapons (Examples based on Refinement Rank 1)
Symphonist of Scents (5-Star Polearm)
ATK is increased by 12%. When the equipping character is off-field, ATK is increased by an additional 12%. After healing, the equipping character and healed character(s) will obtain the "Sweet Echoes" effect, increasing their ATK by 32% for 3s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is off-field.
◆ The event-exclusive 5-star weapon "Symphonist of Scents" (Polearm) can be obtained from the Event Wish. Please refer to the relevant official Event Notices for specific acquisition details.
Sequence of Solitude (4-Star Bow)
When an attack hits an opponent, deal AoE DMG equal to 40% of Max HP at the target location. This effect can be triggered once every 15s.
◆ Sequence of Solitude (Bow) and its refinement materials can be redeemed in the "Whirling Waltz" event.

1. New Archon Quest
Archon Quest Interlude Chapter: Act IV "Paralogism"
Permanently available after the Version 5.6 update

• Reach Adventure Rank 40 or above

2. New Story Quest
Escoffier's Story Quest - Dulciaria Structura Chapter: Act I "Treasured Above All"
Permanently available after the Version 5.6 update
◆ Quest Unlock Criteria:
• Reach Adventure Rank 40 or above
• Complete Archon Quest Chapter IV: Act V "Masquerade of the Guilty"
• The "Focused Experience Mode" function is available for this quest.
Additionally, after the Version 5.6 update until 2025/05/27 17:59, the "Quick Start" function will be available for Escoffier's Story Quest - Dulciaria Structura Chapter: Act I "Treasured Above All."
IV. New Enemies
New Boss: "The Game Before the Gate"
◇ A soldier-entity born into being through the skills of various members of the Hexenzirkel.
During the battle's first phase, Chess Game: King Piece will summon chess pieces and execute a "Cunning Gambit." When the King Piece charges forward on his "chariot," you must lure him towards the "soldiers" within the formation to rout his forces and bring the onslaught to a halt. Defeat Chess Game: King Piece to progress the game to the next phase.
During the battle's second phase, the Ascended King and the Sublimated Queen will charge up to unleash a "Lethal Blow." Continuously trigger Frozen to counteract the charging. Once the Sublimated Queen is Frozen, lure the Ascended King into charging into her. This will interrupt the "Lethal Blow" completely.

Once you reach Adventure Rank 40, you can Quick Challenge the new boss's Trounce Domain through your Adventurer Handbook in Single Player Mode.
Secret Source Automaton: Overseer Device
◇ A civilization whose magnificence once marked distant eons built this overseer device to control multiple Secret Source machines.
After it enters Sweeper Mode, it will start attacking while generating Flow Momentum. The higher its Flow Momentum, the greater the DMG it will inflict. During this time, you might be able to obstruct the buildup of Flow Momentum by using consecutive Cryo attacks...
It is said that after characters enter and maintain the Nightsoul's Blessing state for some time when fighting against it, the Secret Source Automaton: Overseer Device will enter a special "Counterstrike Mode" and change its offensive strategy...

On web, we added “View previous reblog” to the post meatball menu. Find it by clicking the three horizontal dots in the top-right corner of a post!
We also tidied up some of the other items in the post meatball menu on web, while we were there. The ordering of some items were adjusted, and “Subscribe to conversation” is now called “Follow post”.
On Android, “View previous reblog” is now in the meatball menu of reblogs for all users on the latest version of the app.
To comply with the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA), you can now mark a post as containing commercial content, which simply adds a “Commercial Content” banner to the post and does not affect your post’s visibility or ranking on Tumblr.
🛠 Fixed
Users can no longer send asks to blogs that have blocked them, or that they have blocked.
On web, the blog selector in the post editor would incorrectly appear on top of the text format bar. This is now fixed.
On web, the settings page for your blog (tumblr.com/settings/blog/blogname) used to show the account settings menu in the right-hand sidebar. We updated this area to show the blog sidebar instead (Posts, Drafts, Queue, etc).
We made some tweaks which should fix that specific problem where you see a non-zero unread count on your inbox, and so you click into your inbox only to find nothing there. Let us know if you continue to encounter that issue.

On Android, a small number of users were unable to access their messages on app version 32.9. This issue will be fixed in the next app version (33.0).
We’re still working to fix an issue in the iOS app that’s preventing folks from editing draft posts.

Bei der Suche in einem bestimmten Blog werden bei Verwendung eines # als Präfix nur noch Tags gefunden. Wenn du also in einem Blog nach #cats suchst, werden nur noch Einträge mit diesem Tag angezeigt. (So funktioniert auch die Suche auf Tumblr, wenn du ein # als Präfix für einen Suchbegriff verwendest).
Wir haben den Heute-Tab auf der Entdeckenseite im Web entfernt, jetzt ist „Angesagt“ wieder die Standardeinstellung.
Im Web haben wir die Option „Vorherigen Reblog anzeigen“ in das Eintragsmenü aufgenommen. Du findest sie, indem du auf die drei horizontalen Punkte in der oberen rechten Ecke eines Eintrags klickst!
Da wir gerade dabei waren, haben wir auch einige andere Punkte im Eintragsmenü im Web überarbeitet. Die Reihenfolge einiger Punkte wurde angepasst, und „Blog-Benachrichtigungen erhalten“ heißt jetzt ��Eintrag folgen“.
Auf Android ist „Vorherigen Reblog anzeigen“ jetzt im Reblog-Menü für alle User:innen der neuesten Version der App zu finden.
Um den Bestimmungen des Gesetzes über digitale Dienste der Europäischen Union nachzukommen, kannst du jetzt einen Eintrag als Werbung kennzeichnen. Dadurch wird dem Eintrag lediglich ein Banner mit der Aufschrift „Werbeinhalt“ hinzugefügt, ohne dass dies Auswirkungen auf die Sichtbarkeit oder das Ranking deines Eintrags auf Tumblr hat.
🛠 Behobene Bugs
Das Posten auf Tumblr von IFTTT (EN) wurde in letzter Zeit häufiger als üblich eingeschränkt, was dazu führte, dass einige Aktionen fehlschlugen, aber wir haben das Problem behoben.
Wir beheben gerade einige visuelle Probleme mit Tumblr Patio (EN), für diejenigen, die uns beim Testen helfen.
Unter Android konnten einige wenige User:innen mit der App-Version 32.9 nicht auf ihre Nachrichten zugreifen. Dieses Problem ist nun in 33.0 behoben.
Wir haben das Problem in der iOS-App behoben, das Leute daran hinderte, Eintragsentwürfe zu bearbeiten.
User:innen können keine Anfragen mehr an Blogs senden, von denen sie gesperrt wurden, oder die sie selbst gesperrt haben.
Im Web wurde die Blogauswahl im Eintragseditor fälschlicherweise oben in der Textformatleiste angezeigt. Dies ist jetzt behoben.
Im Web wurde auf der Einstellungsseite für deinen Blog (tumblr.com/settings/blog/blogname) bisher das Menü für die Kontoeinstellungen in der rechten Seitenleiste angezeigt. Wir haben diesen Bereich aktualisiert und zeigen stattdessen die Seitenleiste des Blogs an (Einträge, Entwürfe, Warteschleife usw.).
Wir haben einige Optimierungen vorgenommen, die das Problem beheben sollten, dass die Anzahl der ungelesenen Nachrichten in deinem Posteingang von Null abweicht, sodass du auf deinen Posteingang klickst, dort aber nichts findest. Gib uns Bescheid, falls dieses Problem weiterhin auftritt.

Wir haben versucht, den lästigen Fehler zu beheben, der dazu führen konnte, dass der Posteingang für Fragen bzw. Einträge eine ungelesene Anzahl von 1 oder mehr anzeigte, obwohl sich dort eigentlich nichts befand. Dies wird in der Regel dadurch verursacht, dass jemand eine Frage sendet und dann aus irgendeinem Grund gesperrt oder blockiert wird, was verhindert, dass die eigentliche Frage gesehen werden kann. Wir haben dieses Problem versehentlich noch verschlimmert, indem wir eine noch höhere Anzahl ungelesener Fragen angezeigt haben, obwohl gar keine vorhanden war. Diesen missglückten Versuch haben wir zwar behoben, aber wir arbeiten immer noch daran, die Situation insgesamt zu verbessern.
