i miss botw 2. like we have totk but i miss the vision of botw 2 i created in my head from the first trailer (and second a little bit but i was kinda like "wheres the glowy cave" at that one). zelda game that takes place mostly underground where link is corrupted by malice and zelda actively does something during the game and isnt yet again a plot device you rarely interact with. and maybe ganondorf being well written and a real character. and the ui didnt get changed for literally no fucking reason. and we had more weapon types. and a darker story like that guy promised. and a new map that wasnt empty and predictable. imagine what we could have had

Has it ever happened to you that you start watching a show, and suddenly you begin to notice chemistry between two main characters who seemed to come out of nowhere and didn’t even know each other at first? Then they start interacting, and even their smallest interactions feel kind of romantic. And then, out of nowhere, a love interest shows up—someone we know nothing about, who only seems to exist in the mind of the protagonist (or exists for the sake of the plot), and who hasn't even been mentioned before. It’s the only character in the entire show who has no depth, even though the most minor side characters have backstories that allow you to connect with them as a viewer. But because this love interest has no story and is just an idealized version of the protagonist’s (or even the viewer’s) desires, it starts to feel annoying when they force this character into the plot no matter what, just because the script says so. And they always do it—always—right when there are important moments happening between the two leads you ship. And then, and then, and then, and then…😝😜😭😭💀😭💀😭💀😭🥺😭🥺😭😜🤗🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

STOP GATEKEEPING CREATIVITY

yes, people who write poetry with overused metaphors or music with an overused sound or books/fics with overused tropes are artists. people who only draw hot anime characters or only make albums that sound the same are artists. you don't have to like or consume what they make but calling them "not real artists" is patently wrong. for people who love to post about the sanctity of human creativity you sure do treat any art you don't like the same way you do ai.

stop being fucking snobs about art. you have no idea what goes into making even basic shit for some people. imagine pushing yourself to make something for months just so some assholes on the internet can call it creatively bankrupt. shitting on people's self expression cuz it's "too derivative" or "not creative enough" is an asshole thing to do.

drawing arbitrary lines in the sand between "real art" and "slop" and then endlessly degrading people who make "slop" is gatekeeping and it sucks. maybe "slop" is the best they can do. you being sick of the cliches they use or not approving of their "insufficiently passionate" work doesn't justify declaring that all of it objectively sucks or ordering them to do better.

something not being up to your standards doesn't make it "uncreative slop garbage" especially if your standards have been set by the best 1% of artists in whatever medium you like. just don't look at it, don't read it, don't listen to it, whatever. yes this includes famous people. it's not suddenly more valid in context of a celebrity than in context of art you see on social media, the criticism is still "i think they're not a True Artist so their art is worthless". all you're doing is contributing to everyone's impostor syndrome and telling people not to create if they don't have The Gift. fuck off
