Soyoung is devastated when her favorite musical actor is swallowed up by the world of TV. Just after she quits supporting him, she discovers charismatic actress Jaeyi in a theater performance of "Macbeth" and becomes a fan at first sight. By meeting Jaeyi after her shows and even doing her a favor, Soyoung goes from a mere fan to her good friend. But when Jaeyi has to work with celebrity actress Hyesun, who she has a troubled past with, it unexpectedly sours their friendship. All Soyoung wanted was to support her favorite actress… so why does this new development bother her so much?

happy femslash february, here's a 50 episode webtoon about a theater fan and an actress. this one's one of my favorite because the actress and the fan start out with. COMPLETELY different understandings of their relationship. the actress is coming from the perspective of: man I am just some guy who's barely getting jobs. but the fan (who is a Very Experienced Theater Fan) is coming at this from the perspective of: OH MY GOD??? OH MY GOD???? HOLY SHIT???? THE TALENT???? THE CHARISMA???? SHE'S EVERYTHING?????? I HAVE TO MAKE SURE NOT TO BE WEIRD ABOUT THIS I HAVE TO MAINTAIN A RESPECTFUL PROFESSIONAL DISTANCE wait why are we eating at a cafe together. I really like the theater fan, she's a very normal office lady but also kind of unhinged. anyway, they get together a little over midway through the series, so it's nice to see some of how they navigate a new relationship.

It’s time to reveal our theme for the next Witcher Comment Crawl!

Now we begin collecting fanworks for the crawl and we would love your suggestions! We ask that you look over the list guidelines below and if you have a fanwork you love please submit it through our form. We’re looking for all kinds of fanworks! Fic, Fanart, Fanvids, Podfic, Cosplay, Crafts, and songs are only a few ideas.

Self-recs are encouraged

There is no length minimum or maximum, but fanfic under 10k or podfic under 30 minutes tend to be more digestible for our event. But if you have an epic long story to share that you think people will love, send it along!

(Femslash) February Fic Updates

Hello Hello! I already posted an update this month for chapter 8 of TYFH, so go check that out if you wanted to see it!

I took a bit of a break for the holidays and to play Engage, so I got an update out early this month :)!! Because it’s femslash february and because I was gone for a bit, I’m going to try and have another update out this month, AND I’ll clue you in on the theme for that other project I hinted at earlier:

I briefly mentioned this a few other times in reblogs and A/N’s on AO3, but I’ve been working on a fic that probably won’t be too terribly long, max six or so chapters. I said that I wanted to try work on it throughout fem/ feb to be able to post a chapter every day or so over the course of a week. The Edeleth Pirate AU is currently two chapters in, and should be able to release by the end of March at the latest. That’s all I have for now! Thanks for reading :)

Maca and Bárbara have been clear that the story has been written to avoid labels because of how a lot of Mexican society tries to box in queer people. Val’s comment about how she ‘doesn’t even like women, [she] likes one woman’ was just to make a point to Eva

Hmm, but I feel like by only using the word gay, they’ve already provided a sort of box themselves? I know introductory stories try to keep it simple, but I think if boys are involved in the story somehow, as they were here, then at the least, bisexuality should be mentioned, if just its existence. 

Nobody has to choose an identity, but even that’s worth having the discussion, an “I don’t know” or “I don’t want to pick”. Too often if a character isn’t straight, they’re assumed to be gay and when the show reinforces that then that’s what the audience takes away from it. Someone can absolutely still have a history with boys and be a lesbian, but even then, not being bi is still different from defaulting to gay. 

I like that at the end Val herself said she didn’t want to pick a label, she made her own choice, but it is a choice in itself, as much as any other label. I also don’t think a totally label-less society is some kind of ideal to strive for, I don’t think it means that it all stops mattering and everyone is equal. Bigoted people don’t hate the label, they hate what people are, and that’s still going to continue.
