+ backstory : i grew up in england where a lot of my family was but by the time i turned 13 we moved to scotland, partially to attend hogwarts and partially because my parents wanted to get away from some of our pureblood family members. my parents, though from a notable pureblood family, don't agree with the views of pureblood culture. because my parents' reputation for their last name still upheld, when we moved we were invited to an event that ended up just being a pureblood society ball. we only stayed out of politeness, but it was there that i met sirius and promised to be best friends with him when we got to hogwarts since we both hated the party.

౨ৎ﹕[ WARDROBE ! ]

+ description : my style in this dr can change a lot, especially taking into consideration the weather or location i'm in. in terms of colors, i wear a lot of neutrals but tend to have a specific color pop (which oftentimes a cherry red). during winter and autumn months, i am often wearing oversized jumpers (whether mine or stolen from remus). i also almost always wear flared or baggy pants. some of my iconic pieces include leather jackets, doc martens, band tees, baker boy hats, plaid skirts, and more. during the summer i tend to wear baby tees and babydoll tops, along with skirts. with my uniform, i pair many accessories to make it look as appealing as possible, and use magic to have different nails every day.

౨ৎ﹕[ LIFE AT HOGWARTS ! ]

+ general : students start first year at 14, so it is a sort of hybrid between highschool and university, where students have much more freedom once 18. school uniforms are only required during classes from monday - thursday, and on friday you may wear your desired outfit underneath your robes.

+ dorms : students are allocated private dorms that have within them a bed, a desk, a private bathroom, and more. once a student is assigned to a dorm, the dorm changes to accommodate that student's taste. once you are given your dorm number, you must choose a password and it is your responsibility to ensure students you do not want to come in cannot. in the case that a student knows your password and you do not want them to, you can ask a professor to change it and they will do so. alohomora will not unlock dorm rooms. dorms are organized by house, but boy's and girl's dorms are not separated - everything is instead organized by house and name.

+ extra-curriculars : the clubs i am part of include music club (which later inspires me and my friends to make a band), theater club, art club, care of magical creatures club, and in later years, the quidditch team

+ houses : the animosity between houses (especially slytherin and gryffindor) is not nearly as prevalent as depicted in the books. it is known that not all students in one house are the same, and so, while some friendly competition is encouraged, it is not uncommon to have friends from every house. students of every house are allowed into the common rooms and dorms (with permission of at least one person from that house).

౨ৎ﹕[ ABOUT THIS DR ! ]

+ worldbuilding : not a lot changes about the war except for the fact that it's toned down and ends during my seventh year (which we redo since it would be similar to the last year in the harry potter books - looking for horcruxes without actually being at hogwarts). of course, none of my friends die. i haven't accounted for how the war will end exactly, so i suppose i'll let that work itself out organically.

+ main friends : remus lupin, sirius black, james potter, lily evans, regulus black, marlene mckinnon, mary macdonald.

+ relationships : i am a formal part of both the marauders and the valkyries. i became friends with the marauders at the start of the school year, and we were consequently established as a friend group before me and the girls. i tend to spend more time with the marauders but our groups often mingle since everyone gets along (except maybe lily and james at the beginning). i also have some friends in slytherin, such as andromeda and regulus, but i tend to stay away from the anti-muggleborn students.

You need to understand, seeing Chris lift up and point his bass at the crowd at the end of the slightly modified Jimmy Jam riff before Time Is Running Out was a religious experience that changed me and we're lucky enough to live in an age where you and I can witness it over and over and over again and I'd suggest that you do)

Shepherd's Bush Empire 2006 (Early gigs are always interesting because over time Muse develop different ways of playing songs that are fresh off new albums. The way they work through Take A Bow live is a bit different here, Dom's the one controlling the opening verse synths! During the Abso tour, Matt would play that bit on the piano as an intro to Space Dementia and if I'm remembering right, he does now on the pianos (correct me—this was on the ST tour as well). Also, Starlight in Bm at this gig)

Rock Werchter 2023 (Muse play Rock Werchter in Belgium almost every year, except for the pandemic and 2012 I think, but this year's was a bit special. Best performance of Madness I've seen in a while, I love what he does in the outro! MOTP returns to the set. Muse had tech troubles at the end that caused them to restart Knights of Cydonia twice, to no avail. They finally cut it back for a guitar-bass-drum-vocals-only performance of Showbiz, and Matt's voice sounds exceptional on it— the best in recent years)

Bizarre Fest 2000 (BLESS SOMEONE HAS RESTORED THIS FROM VHS TAPE IN HD, this is so much better than back in the day!! If the falsetto at 1:13 doesn't do it for you, you're into the wrong band, nothing else will help. What an electric performance this was!)

Hi! I’m Alma (though I mostly go by Aluminium on the net). I’m a swede in my mid 10s and I’m really into musical theatre. My current fave shows are:

I mostly post about musical theatre, but everyday-observations may pop up on my feed once in a while as well.

My biggest inspirations in life atm are the actors Jonathan Groff and Andrew Rannells. The two of them are literally the reason I fell in love with theatre and couldn’t be more grateful for their works. (Also they’re both so damn iconic idk what to do with myself???)

To me, gender is quite insignificant. I don’t label myself as anything (genderwise) and I don’t really care about what pronouns people use for me. (Though I’m not a fan of neopronouns on myself) I’m also a lesbian.

Music/ I listen to a LOT of music. I think I reached over 130 000 listened minutes in 2023. (An entire year is about 526 000 minutes in total). I listen to almost everything but gangster rap and hard electronic music and I’d say that my top genres are classic rock, alternative and a very niche kind of pop. David Bowie, Queen and Kent are my favourite bands.

I have severe PMDD (pre menstrual dysphoric disorder) and would happily answer questions about it since there isn’t much common knowledge surrounding PMDD today.

What more can I say? I’m switching schools to a theatre program this fall (2024) and uhh… live laugh Lin-Manuel that’s all bye xx

Dear Jean Pierre collects David Wojnarowicz’s transatlantic correspondence to his Parisian lover Jean Pierre Delage between 1979 and 1982. Capturing a truly foundational moment for Wojnarowicz’s artistic and literary practice, these letters not only reveal his captivating personality—and its concomitant tenderness, compassion, and neuroses—but also index the development of the visual language that would go on to define him as one of the preeminent artists of his generation.

Through this collection, readers are introduced to Wojnarowicz’s Rimbaud series, the band 3 Teens Kill 4, the publication of his first photographs, his early friendship with Peter Hujar, his participation in the then-emerging East Village art and music scenes, and the preparations for the publication of his first book. Included with these writings are postcards, drawings, xeroxes, photographs, collages, flyers, ephemera, and contact sheets that showcase some of the artist’s iconic images and work, such as the Burning House motif and Untitled (Genet, after Brassai).

Beyond these milestones, the book offers a striking portrayal of Wojnarowicz as a twenty-something, detailing his day-to-day life with the type of unbridled earnestness that comes with that age and the softness of love and longing. This disarming tenderness provides a picture of a young man just beginning to find his voice in the world and the love he has found in it.

Although the two exchanged letters in equal measure, Delage’s correspondences have largely been lost, leaving us with only a revelatory glimpse into the internal world of Wojnarowicz during what turned out to be his formative years.

David Wojnarowicz (1954-1992) was born in Red Bank, New Jersey. Wojnarowicz channeled a vast accumulation of raw images, sounds, memories and lived experiences into a powerful voice that was an undeniable presence in the New York City art scene of the 1970s, 80s and early 90s. Through his several volumes of fiction, poetry, memoirs, painting, photography, installation, sculpture, film and performance, Wojnarowicz left a legacy, affirming art’s vivifying power in a society he viewed as alienating and corrosive. His use of blunt semiotics and graphic illustrations exposed what he felt the mainstream repressed: poverty, abuse of power, blind nationalism, greed, homophobia and the devastation of the AIDS epidemic. Wojnarowicz died of AIDS-related complications on July 22, 1992 at the age of 37.

TRAIL OF TEARS Returns After A Decade Of Silence With New Single 'Winds Of Disdain'

Norwegian gothic metal pioneers TRAIL OF TEARS are back after more than a decade of silence. Their triumphant return kicks off with the title track, "Winds Of Disdain", from their upcoming EP of the same name, set for release on May 24 via The Circle Music.

The single "Winds Of Disdain" is a powerful and emotional exploration of the frustrations and negativity that have gripped the world in recent years. The song channels the darkness of the pandemic and the bleak outlook of today's society, all delivered with TRAIL OF TEARS' signature dark gothic metal sound.

The song features the haunting vocals of Ailyn Giménez García, formerly of symphonic metal band SIRENIA. Alongside García's soaring voice, founding member Ronny Thorsen delivers his distinct growls. The rest of the band features a solid foundation with Runar Hansen on guitars, Nicolay Jørni Johnsen on guitars and programming and Endre Moe on bass. This lineup promises to deliver TRAIL OF TEARS' signature brand of gothic metal with a fresh and dynamic sound.

"Winds Of Disdain" marks the band's first release in over 10 years and signifies a new chapter for TRAIL OF TEARS. They have signed a multifaceted deal with The Circle Music, which will see the release of the "Winds Of Disdain" EP, a full-length album and vinyl reissues of all seven of their previous albums, starting with their iconic 1998 debut "Disclosure In Red".

"We are finally ready to share the results of our work since first announcing our return back in 2020," says Ronny Thorsen, TRAIL OF TEARS founder and vocalist. "We're excited to share our first new single and lyric video with you — and hopefully seeing you out there in concert, soon!"

Formed in 1997, TRAIL OF TEARS quickly gained acclaim with their debut album "Disclosure In Red" and relentless touring alongside bands like TRISTANIA and CRADLE OF FILTH. Over the next decade, they released a string of successful albums, each showcasing their blend of dark melodies, soaring vocals, and heavy riffs. The band also saw lineup changes, with founding member Ronny Thorsen remaining a constant.

Despite critical and commercial success, TRAIL OF TEARS went on hiatus in 2013. However, 2020 saw a resurgence for the band. Thorsen spearheaded a reformation, bringing together both original members and longtime collaborators, completed by García.

'With a face carved by the hands of Michelangelo himself, Cillian Murphy’s film presence seldom goes unneeded. The Irish actor isn’t Hollywood’s most recognizable leading man. He’s spent most of his career traversing from underrated role to underrated role, giving him an incredibly diverse filmography.

Now, as his titular role in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” garners critical acclaim, I wanted to take a look at some of his previous projects.

Red Eye (2005)

Starting off strong with this airplane-set thriller, “Red Eye” follows two strangers, Lisa Reisert, played by Rachel McAdams, and Jackson Rippner, played by Murphy, on a flight to Miami. Jackson’s charm entices Lisa at first, but things take an unexpected turn for the worst when his true intentions are revealed.

Murphy deserved an Academy Award solely for his sassy line delivery in one particular scene — if you know, you know. The fact that he served face doing it makes it so much better.

Watching the Detectives (2007)

This rom-com follows a film nerd and video rental store owner whose life is turned upside down when a manic pixie dream girl type, played by the incomparable Lucy Liu, shows him life can be just as exciting and unpredictable as the films he obsesses over.

Violet, Liu’s character, thrusts Neil, Murphy’s character, from crazy scenario to crazy scenario. For example, after the duo vandalize another local video store under Violet’s suggestion, she pranks Neil by getting two “detectives” to scare him into thinking he’s been caught.

Throughout the film, Violet tells Neil stories in which fact and fiction are hard to discern. One in particular includes a big, bald musician she once dated who stalks her. She ends up pulling another ruse on the now paranoid Neil, faking an abduction by this bald ex that leads to a violent resolution.

I hope this movie inspires film bros to go outside and experience the world beyond the screen — though, hopefully not to the same extent as Neil did.

Breakfast on Pluto (2005)

In this drama, our blue-eyed beauty plays a transgender woman named Patrick “Kitten” Braden. After her mother abandoned her on the steps of a priest’s home, she leaves her small town in Ireland for London in search of her mother and a freer place to fully live her trans identity.

Her journey through London finds her falling in love with the lead singer of a glam rock band and singing and dancing as a member of the children’s entertainment group, The Wombles. She becomes a magician’s assistant and is ultimately forced into prostitution where she narrowly escapes a violent attack by iconically spraying her assailant in the eyes with Chanel No. 5.

Murphy’s performance is striking and campy throughout as he buoys the hardships of the trans experience with Kitten’s whimsy and aversion to taking anything seriously.

The costuming is also absolutely scrumptious. From a certain leather ensemble to the myriad of furs, this is certainly Murphy’s most glamorous role to date.

In Time (2011)

This dystopian quasi-thriller takes place in a society where time is currency. Citizens are genetically-engineered to not age past 25, and when they do reach that age, they are given one more year to live. Time is exchanged from person to person and is stored in capsules; citizens can gain time by working, bartering, stealing or fighting for it.

Though the concept is interesting, the execution leaves much to be desired. Even though the cast is full of familiar faces: Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Johnny Galecki and Justin Timberlake — yes, it’s from that weird era where they tried to make Timberlake a movie star, it seems like everyone here forgot how to act.

With the exception of Murphy, of course. Here, he plays a so-called “Timekeeper,” a select group of individuals tasked with keeping the peace and investigating “time crimes.” Murphy portrays his character, Raymond Leon, with a cold suaveness and a certain sassiness that’s innate to Murphy. The leather jacket and dark, slicked back hair is just a cherry on top.'

What's up with the dream outfits and why is Ruby a faunus in Adam's dream?

So the dream outfits are meant to be representations of how RWBY are seen in the dreamworlds of those they entered. Yang's is based on Eirian's while RWB's are in Adam's, because Yang won't be able to follow them.

Ruby's is important because this is less of how Adam's sees her, given he doesn't have an overtly strong opinion beyond surprise at her young age and genius, as well as some bitterness remaining over how Ruby chose Weiss over Blake back in the argument.

But her appearace is centered around how Adam thinks of her connection to Zanthus. Adam knows that Ruby is very important right now to Zanthus, because his boyfriend is struggling with the loss of Argenta and is putting that lack of control and grief onto Ruby, and this makes Adam not only jealous but fearful.

Especially because right before Adam was infected, he and Zanthus had the argument over how Zanthus was more scared over Ruby getting hurt than Adam's very real injuries. Zanthus right now is more blind to Adam's growing struggles because he isn't acknowledging his own eagerness to "redeem" his past mistakes through Ruby.

Which is why Ruby is a Faunus. In Adam's dream, she is nothing more than a reflection of Zanthus' obsession; not even being her own person.

Her cape, something iconic to Ruby, has now been replaced with the same tattered style that Zanthus uses, with the fur trimmed hood. As well as the sash and belt combo, the pattern on her jacket mirroring his chestplate, and the boots having the similar patterns to his.

Even the ears, and Ruby being made into a Faunus, is because of this. In Adam's world, Ruby isn't herself, she has no identity. All she is at this moment in Adam's very vulnerable state of mind, is the embodiment of Zanthus' own faults and grief.

Another note is that, though it's not noticeable with Ruby on her own, but her being considerable shorter than she normally is, and younger appearance, lends into the idea that Adam sees her more as a child despite only being 2 years younger than the others.

The others have similar symbolism to him.

Weiss is very obvious with her militaristic style and overuse of blue, connecting her to the cold colours of Atlas and the Schnee family, since Jacques is associated with the colour blue. Weiss is just the Schnee family to Adam, the personification of everything wrong, so much so that the red Weiss does wear is completely gone.

Adam won't give her that because, in his eyes, there is nothing in Weiss that isn't the sin of the SDC and Atlas. So of course she won't have not only his colour, but the colour of his mother who the SDC murdered. It goes even further with Weiss not wearing black either. Adam won't accept her connection to Blake, nor would he accept that Blake is starting to accept Weiss' attempts to redeem herself over what she done.

Blake's on the surface looks very similar to her style, but she actually mimics the way Cerise used to dress.

Even Blake's ears were moved to the side of her head just as Cerise's were, because Blake is the only family Adam has left. He lost Cerise, he lost Ghira and Hajimu, and he's now in a deep fear that he will lose Blake again. The unresolved grief not only over his mother's death, that trauma fueling his nightmare, but also the trauma over thinking Blake was dead for two years, has left far more of an impact on him than he admits to anyone and Blake embodies that in the nightmare.

The last one with Yang is the only one were it's not how Adam sees her, since they have a cordial relationship and he prefers it that way, but how Eirian sees her. And just like Ruby, Yang is a Faunus in Eirian's nightmare world.

But it's not just being a Faunus that's important; Yang is completely dressed in Vikelan clothing and even has her own bands that're important to every Vikelan adult. Because Eirian needs Yang to conform to her society's expectations if they are to be together, as Eirian has lived years with parents that didn't.

The isolation and discrimination Eirian had suffered has left her desperate not only to go through it again, to conform and be accepted, but for anyone she loves to do the same. Eirian hasn't come to terms that what she feels for Yang goes beyond simple friendship, but deep down her subconcious knows that, if she was to get with Yang just as Icheku married Clementine, the same thing would happen again.

Which plays into the racial image issues that Eirian struggles with as a mixed race person. She was never accepted by anyone because of mixed heritage she shared, and she has had thoughts that if she was just one side or the others, everything would be easier. At least someone would accept her.

And this stretches to Yang. If Eirian is to love her, and more importantly protect her, Yang needs to conform just like her. She needs to be a Faunus because Eirian's goal in life is to ensure Vikela's future, to build up Menagerie as a legitimate kingdom, and so that meant going back. Yang couldn't be with her as a human and her nightmare feeds into that.

But she can't and shouldn't change Yang, something she has to learn.

I loved designing their dream looks because it meant I had to go more into how others saw them than the team themselves.

Kind of want to Lore-dump about these characters,

around the 8th of last year I created a character with no name, it started off as a doodle, concept art for just a random character:

In the same day I drew the semi-iconic image in my friend-group of the character holding a skull with a red hoodie that had the numbers "17" on it, in which they would be named 17 or shortened later on to "Sev", 17 became a fun thing to draw for me and soon i began making two other characters, pulling one of my old oc's that i barely ever used, "Devil."

From this point i started creating a small little OC series called Flip17Devil about a band of 3 monsters, A Doll, A Vampire and a Devil who were the leaders of their year period (2014)'s band club.

Soon the concept of "Nowhere Town" began becoming reocurring and began the general plot of the story:

Nowhere Town was a fictional hidden away village ran by an organization who took in delinquent kids and tried to rehabilitate them by putting them in a kid run society outside of the organizers running the school and delivering shipments.

at the age of 19 you graduate Nowhere Town and are considered rehabilitated, Now you're probably wondering how does this tie in with the first image? who are the 4 hands what IS the triangle.

this is the class of 2004, the class that ran their year periods Drama Club and began the "the drama club 2009" sketchbook.

in 2009 the Drama club discovered a tunnel system underneath Nowhere Town and Marrow, the owner of the sketchbook would write and draw everything they learned about it.

however you learn in the sketchbook art both Alissa and Andrew went missing shortly after discovering the tunnels on their "graduation day" leaving Marrow to stop talking to Deen and the drama club falling apart out of fear Marrow drawing Deen or himself would make them "Graduate" too.

in 1977 a project for the creation of nowhere town launched called "The Blue Reunion." the project would be building tunnels to every point in nowhere town Robert R found most important to his plans, in the construction of The Blue Reunion his right man Dominik Maley would suffer injuries and die in the tunnels after an accident with the lights blowing out, the blue triangles are heavily assumed at least to my friend group to be involved with The Blue Reunion given that they are always Blue and they mark every entrance to the tunnels besides Maley's workshop.

nowhere town comes from a sincere part of me, a part of me i came to be okay with and that was growing up and the fear of growing up, how it continues to be apart of my life no matter what age i am, and to me the kids of 2004 and the kids of 2014 represented the childlike wonder i wish i still had and my overthinking as a teenager unable to come to terms with everything changing and the people around me leaving.

I dont expect nowhere town to make people feel the same i do, Like i said it was always a personal little project i enjoyed and I think I'll keep enjoying it, because in every dumb thing these characters do, I see a younger version of me and a younger version of me more willing to express myself.

Living With Karen - Blog #1: Jaifei Scammed Me

The Backstory

Tick tock.

Oh, you, incessant little gear. Quiet down! Her hand whipped the ceramic red ladybug alarm clock onto the floor, resulting in a large CRASH! She thought she was in the midst of a much-needed moment of silence until she heard her child Bræydon, wail and scream just as he did whenever she would order him her favorite "Heath Mint Pistachio" ice cream. Karen knew that peppermint oil was going to add shine and definition to her son's growing teeth. She thought he needed to indulge in it so that no one in his class could even attempt to consider that he could be associated with Heather Smith; a pink elastic rubber band and braces-wearing redhead who always stood out to Karen whenever she would drop her son off at school. Karen did not like Heather for a few reasons: 1) Heather's hairstyle was not on par with the Christian Bible, especially with the violet-dyed strands in her hair. 2) Heather loved to chew gum and talk back to the teacher. There was no way that Karen would ever let Bræydon be friends with such an unsophisticated excuse of a schoolgirl.

The sound of her child's wail growing ever so loudly brought her back from her thoughts. Her eyes shot straight to dented alarm clock as its hands read her the time: 4:05 PM. She opened her phone and realized she had spent all morning on TikTok. Speaking of TikTok, she then remembered that she was expecting a delivery of exciting gadgets that would make her life easier to manage. She first encountered these gadgets, merely a week ago, after she viewed a TikTok of a woman attempting multiple times to grab her boyfriend's umbrella so that she could be shielded by the wisp bullets of rain. The woman decides that she has had enough of her boyfriend's antics so she pushes him into the grass and pulls out a purple umbrella hat. Karen had never seen anything like that before in her life. Being mesmerized by the woman's umbrella hat, Karen started to have vivid dreams about meeting the inventor of such a stylish and tactile product. That's when she noticed and clicked on one of the only tagged hashtags in the video's caption: #jiafeiproducts.

After viewing a few dozen videos, Karen found an eCommerce website link to Wish.com, which had these inventive gadgets for sale. She saw that all these gadgets were posted under the same username, @JaifeiProducts. By clicking on the username, Karen then saw the profile and inventor of the gadgets that she was enamored with, that being Jiafei, Owner of JiafeiProducts LLC. Right then and there, Karen knew that this was the perfect opportunity to start her new niche mom blog, Living with Karen, in which she talks about her perilous adventures in parenting a 7-year-old boy in an ever-growing society. Karen felt good about the impact that this could have on her blog. Maybe this will be my big shot? Maybe I'll become famous?! Her blushed cheeks widened with glee at the mere thought of reaching mega-stardom.

Ding dong!

That must be my delivery! Here is my chance at fame! Karen shook her head to regain focus on this very pivotal moment in her life. With a fluttering sigh and optimistic grimace, Karen reached for her cheetah print spectacles, which sat neatly on her mahogany desk workstation, and fixed them onto her face. She parted her pin-straight fried hair to her left, emphasizing her iconic and signature look, Karen's swoop. She was ready to seize the day and possibly change her life for the better. Never mind the shrieks and wallows of her incessant silver statue, this was it! This was her chance, right here and right now, finally at last!

She ran towards the front door, swung it open, grabbed the white USPS parcel package, and struck the door shut. Tearing the package apart, she lifted and unveiled the contents within the box: a 350ml clear glass bottle filled to the brim with an invigorating and clarifying essential oil blend of lavender, sage, and peppermint oil; a yellow-colored rubber gripper with a round suction tip that attaches to the handle of a door; a gag-like facial accessory that claims to cancel noise; a cheetah-print umbrella hat; a small grinder for making carrot purée; and lastly, a personalized rubber chew toy with her son's name engraved on it.

She called her son's name to her room to show him what she had bought for him. Bræydon's face looked rugged and pudgy as his eyelids and cheeks stood red and inflamed. He had a puzzled look on his face as if he was trying to decipher and recognize the things his mother had just bought him. "Mama, what is this?" his voice soft and sprightly as the scattered ray of the sun glistened over onto his skin. "Oh sweetie, these are my gifts for you! You see this?" she said in a song-sweet chatter whilst pointing to the essential oil bottle, "This is for you and me! You put this oil on your skin and then you smell it, and your problems go poof!".

About a year ago, Bræydon was having some behavioral issues at school; he had trouble focusing, could never stop moving or fidgeting, was falling behind compared to the other children in his class, was very picky about the clothes he wore, had frequent meltdowns, and was very sensitive to changes in his environment. Karen insisted that he needed more discipline and taught better manners, but the school suggested sending him to see a psychiatrist, or what Karen liked to call, a person that wastes their time and money on an idiotic bullshit degree. To prove that there could be nothing wrong with her son, she complied with the school's suggestion and had Bræydon visit a child psychiatrist. To Karen's dismay, the doctors officially diagnosed Bræydon with autism and ADHD, suggesting that they put him on stimulant medication or those placebo sugar pills. Karen knew that ADHD was overdiagnosed in young children and that autism was most likely a side effect from federal-funded vaccinations or just letting the spirit of the devil into the deep caverns of your mind. Karen knew the doctors wanted her money but she believed wholeheartedly that Bræydon was just fine and normal. Besides, her son's behavioral issues could be easily solved with the smell of essential oils, for instance, the relaxing warm smell of lavender can dull the fussiest of babies to flutter its eye shut without a lullaby necessary. The spiritual properties of sage would help sanctify her son's brain and body by ridding him of any problematic behavior or illness while also deterring the devil from tricking him into a life of deviance. The sharp and cooling aroma of peppermint would cure Bræydon's hyperactivity and frequent public outbursts which Karen found ridiculous and embarrassing, as she felt that her kid was telling everybody how bad of a mother she was. Karen was nowhere near a bad mother, after all, she's the one who gives her son food on the table, a roof over his head, and not to mention all that money she has spent on his private school education, which could easily go to her spray tans or pedicures. She reminded herself of how extremely thoughtful she was and thought about how lucky her son must be to have such a kind and generous mother. She already made it up in her mind that she was not the problem whatsoever; it was more so that Bræydon was an ungrateful, spoiled, and mischievous brat! Karen hoped that the essential oils and the new noise-canceling gag could foster some silence in her household as her son loved to cry about nothing good, especially now that he was in 1st grade.

Another thing that annoyed Karen was that Bræydon had a habit of walking around the house with his eyes glued to his iPad. As much as Karen knew that taking the iPad would solve this issue instantly, she also knew that taking her son's iPad would cause him to freak out and have a temper tantrum. The last time she took his iPad away, Karen and Bræydon were eating pancakes and applesauce. The next thing she knew, her frilly pretty-penny white dress was covered in syrup and goopy sauce. She tried to wash it in the dryer but to no avail, the stains had already set in and her favorite dress was ruined. To counteract any possible outbursts, Karen decided to give Jiafei's products a try. She installed the bright yellow door stopper on the handle of her front door as Bræydon loved to pace around that area. She hoped that this product would prevent Bræydon from receiving any head injuries. She could not fathom the thought of her child becoming mentally deformed.

She knew her son extremely well and was more than willing to cater to his needs, for instance, his favorite food was carrots, especially in a soft purée. Karen used to happily enjoy the long process of making carrot purée for her son: cutting up long carrot roots, steaming them, waiting for the carrots to cool off, putting them in a zip lock bag, and mushing them with a rolling pin. However, as the summer turned into fall, Karen became extremely busy with work and scrolling on TikTok that this long process became a burden by the second week of school. Although when she is in a good mood, Karen will happily make carrot purée for her son on the weekends but mostly every weekday, Bræydon would cry, throwing a temper tantrum about not liking the texture of his carrots. In the desire for continuous moments of silence, Karen would resort to raising her voice at him and ordering him to go into his room to fix his childish and impolite behavior. As time goes on, she finds herself replenishing a cheap bottle of sweet tobacco and oak-flavored Merlot every one or two nights a week. She always woke up before the crack of crescent dawn grouchy, bones aching, breath faint and shallow but she didn't seem to mind as she could get all the sleep she needed when her time came to an end.

Another issue that her son had was the tendency to bite his nails. Karen would feel her stomach churn and thoughts race when she saw the mere glimpse of her son's fingernails. His fingernails usually were brittle and dull, pointy and jagged, and misshaped and unkempt. Karen did not why her son could be so careless about his appearance. Bræydon did not know either. He could not fully understand the reason why he bit his nails excessively, particularly due to his juvenility. He knew for certain that he could not help himself and that nail-biting made him feel less worrisome about the world. He was very happy to see that his mother bought him a toy that he could nibble on freely. He found it cool that it had his name on it, even though the "æ" was separated. Although he did not mind this flaw, he knew he had bigger things to worry about, like making friends with the other school children. Bræydon instinctively bit his nails in front of his mother, even though he was holding his brand-new chew toy in his other hand. He dropped everything on the floor to poke his fingers in his ears after hearing a sharp and harrowing howl from his mother. He could tell he had made a terrible mistake as he saw the horrid look on her face. As a result, she made him walk a typical 10-minute car ride to school alone. By the time he made it to the school, he was late to class by an hour and a half and had to endure mean-spirited comments about his sweaty appearance from his peers. He was going to forget all that happened that day when he would get home as he had planned to pretend to be the faintest of shadows at the start of unbearable gleaming July afternoon, under the covers of his grey comforter. This was until his best friend Heather said that he had smelled like dookie, and not to get close to her that day because he had a bad case of cooties.

At the end of the school day with a head hung low, Bræydon opened the right backseat door to his mother's brand-new crimson 2022 Nissan Altima. He was convinced that he had lost his only friend because he was calming himself down by taking a nibble on his fingernails. "Oh my god! What is that smell?!" Karen shrieked. Bræydon covered his eyes with his hands as he felt all the emotions throughout the day resurface into a wail.

"Why are you crying?! I didn't even say anything!" Karen exclaimed. He felt as if he was going to tell her everything right then and there, but he could not get his mouth to move.

"Do not ignore me! If you do not tell me why you're crying, you'll go to bed without eating!". The sharpness in her tone startled Bræydon. He didn't eat lunch that day, so he knew it was in his best interest to tell his mom the truth.

The Blog

Hi, I'm Karen, and welcome to my first entry on my new mom blog, Living with Karen! I am so thankful to have this platform in which I can share my stories and give advice on parenting. I am a mom to a rambunctious 7-year-old boy named Bræydon. I am currently struggling with my son's recent behavior as he thinks he can talk back to me. He never stops fidgeting, never stops talking, and is highly overdramatic. I just do not understand why he cannot settle down and take some breaths like how mommy does. I am a very hard-working woman and I honestly do not get paid enough for my position at my job, yet you don't hear me complaining, know do you? If I'm being candid, my workplace would not be as successful if it wasn't for me.

Anyways, last year, the doctors told me that my precious son, Bræydon, has ADHD and autism. Frankly, I give psychiatrists very little piece of mind. They think that just because they spent time and money pursuing a stupid career, they can say they know my child and throw whatever label they want onto him. I think they just want my money. My son is perfectly normal and the reason why he is acting up is because of school, especially this girl named Heather. Don't even get me started on Heather, I would be so embarrassed to walk into school with buck teeth, ginger hair, and braces with pink rubber bands, talk about flashy much, especially for a 7-year-old girl. She's going to grow up to be a sluttish whore, just throwing all of herself at any man she can find. How disgusting! Her parents ought to be ashamed of themselves, for letting that concubine walk around and try to seduce my precious son, Bræydon. How dare they!

Anyways, I am getting sidetracked, teehee! I was scrolling onto a TikTok rabbit hole about two weeks ago when I saw this amazing video of an umbrella hat. Yes, you heard right! I honestly was astonished and led to the brink of tears due to this wonderful invention. It boggles my mind how stylish and tactile it is at the same time, how crazy, who would have thought? I noticed there was only one hashtag on the video (#jaifeiproducts). Could this be where this wonderful umbrella hat came from? I thought to myself. I clicked on the hashtag and saw numerous videos about a variety of products. Eventually, through enough digging, I found a link to the official Jaifei Products website. I was so happy that I could give my precious son, Bræydon, these wonderful products! I bought a plentiful number of gizmos and gadgets. An essential oil blend of peppermint, sage, and lavender to cure my son's behavioral issues. A door stopper so my precious son, Bræydon, can wander around the house with his iPad without his head getting bashed into. A noise-canceling gag for my son so that I can sniff my essential oils in peace and quiet. God knows us mothers need some silence here and then. A cheetah print umbrella hat because my son takes up the entire umbrella, which reminds me, I need to put him on a diet. A grinder for making carrot purée, my son's favorite. I swear he is so unbearable if I don't spend an hour or two cutting, steaming, and mashing carrots into a purée. Maybe I won't need to chop the whole carrot into little pieces anymore? Finally, I got my son a personalized rubber chew toy with his name engraved on it because I am such a great and thoughtful mother. Maybe this time he won't bite his nails, it's such a disgusting look and habit!

Not to stir any fire into the pot, but what I am about to say next is taking me a lot of courage and bravery. My blood is boiling as I inform you that Jiafei Products is a total scam! First, my son's behavioral issues did not improve; in fact, he has been more antsy and talkative than ever. He cried at school which is so embarrassing! Jiafei probably did not use organic non-GMO oil because she wants to cut down on costs. It is totally understandable why a small business would do something like this, but when it affects my child, it is inhumane. Secondly, the door stopper did work as intended. My son has not had his head bashed into, thank the Lord! However, I have come home with a wide-open door, infested with flies and mosquitoes. Jiafei should have warned me that these things are a safety risk for front doors! This is proof of her lying when she says that all her products are made for universal use. DO NOT USE THESE ON YOUR FRONT DOORS! Thirdly, the noise-canceling gag was a total sham. Yes, I could not hear my son as well, but the fact is, that I could still hear him talk. Why can I still hear my son if this product is labeled as noise-canceling? It's yet another lie by Jiafei. The carrot grinder was way too small. You still have to cut the entire carrot into tiny pieces. What's the point in having a carrot grinder if it doesn't grind carrots for you? Hard pass for me. Fourth, the cheetah print umbrella hat did not flatter my skin tone whatsoever, and don't even get me started on how flat my hair got! It was tragic.

Finally, Jiafei misspelled my precious son, Bræydon's name. I had his name engraved into the chew toy so that the kids at his school wouldn't get confused and (god forbid) steal my precious son, Bræydon's, product. Turns out, he "accidentally lost" the chew toy I got him! He admitted that he showed it to his whore of a friend Heather, and I bet you every bone in my body that she stole it from my precious son, Bræydon! When I tell you I was appalled, I was appalled! It's all Jaifei's fault because stupid Heather couldn't read Bræydon's name. I am going to write a scathing Yelp review and issue a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Jiafei is a liar and harms children in this fragile cultural climate. I hope that I live to see the day that Jiafei Products gets a cease-and-desist letter! Anyways, thank you so much for reading, I hope Jaifei can hold herself accountable, delete herself from the Internet, and give me my full refund. Please reblog!

The robotic voice echoed throughout the desk workstation. She glanced her eyes onto her HP laptop and noticed a red flashing icon on her screen. It appears that Karen has received an email. Karen scurried the pointer mouse onto Microsoft Outlook and opened the email. She felt her pulse lie flat like a venomous cobra, lying in wait for its prey. The sender was Jiafei Products and it read:

The reason why your son's name was misspelled on the personalized chew toy was that I could not figure out to program my engraver to ink 'æ', therefore I had to substitute it with 'ae'. As a small team, Jaifei Products works long and odd-hour shifts to ensure that our customers are happy and satisfied with their products.

I was scrolling through Instagram and this photo (from Panda @subliminal.vamps) made me stop and think. Frank's wrist isn't 100% better.

Frank has ice (possibly heat? please correct me) packs strapped to his wrist and shoulder. He's probably in a good amount of pain, and playing guitar for 2 hours a night on top of whatever practicing and sound checking they do probably doesn't make him hurt less.

I'm not Frank, I'm not his family member or friend, so I don't know what he's dealing with beyond what he chooses to share. But as a fan of his band and him as a person, I'm grateful that such a talented and dedicated musician is willing to put himself through discomfort or pain for the love of his craft and his fans. That means a lot.

National Atomic Testing Museum! Learn about America's history with nuclear weapons testing. $24 per person, book online through their website. Open 9a-5p.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area! Be careful here with the wind advisory today, but it may be good tomorrow. You can hike, picnic, take the scenic drive, and more! It's beautiful. Probably a $35 entrance fee per car. Timed tickets required for the scenic drive.

You Can Rent A Backhoe And Fuck Around, No I'm Not Kidding. Individual digs from $25, group digs from $175.

Area 15 Immersive Experience! Passes start at $49 per person. This is SO COOL, highly recommended. You can guide yourself through, but there are also formal tours.

The Mob Museum. General admission $30 per person. Learn about the impact of organized crime on American history and society today. Thousands of artifacts and some pretty cool exhibits!

If there's something I love it's horrible movies. Movies so conceivedly bad that they're comedically good. They're not expressly meant to be funny. They're just movies where shit happens in it. And there's gotta be something said for this genre of misfit movies. They're still in line with movies like Thirteen, Girl Interrupted, in that they're fucked up and not a movie you'd show to a new group of friends. or even close friends. this is inner circle level. Horrible movies are in the same vain. Only if, you're a weirdo. I wouldn't recommend this to someone who lives those cookie cutter sorts of lives.

You gotta be wondering by now what fucking movie am I talking about? Well,

It's this movie. I came across it on Hulu eons ago. I made my step brother watch it with me for the sole purpose of feeling as gross as I did. I suffered, so should he. The worst part? It doesn't get fucking weird until the last half an hour/twenty minutes. So here you are invested, you kinda wanna finish it that's how late it goes into it. You'll regret it to be sure.

It's movies like this that give me purpose. My purpose is to show other people this fucking movie so they live with the same knowledge I do. Which is: What in the fuck knuckles did I watch? Who cleared this? Who wrote this?

To that I say, "now you know"

And this friends is why I'm not allowed aux, or picking the movie priveliges. I will pick some psychotic as shit. For my birthday I watched Jennifer's Body for the first time.
