no but imagine percy who inherited his mom's beachwave brown, shoulder length hair as a kid. and all of his classmates and teachers thinking he's a girl and referring to him as such. and he doesn't correct them because he thinks it means they find him pretty. and he likes feeling pretty like his mom. then gabe makes him cut his hair in the second grade. and finds he likes the short hair and feeling handsome too. but he also really misses feeling pretty sometimes. and it isn't until after gabe mysteriously dissapears that he grows it out again and reconciles switching between both.

whenever someone’s too enthusiastically hating on female characters I become a beacon of feminism, I put her on that pedestal and worship her because she’s divine (I also hate her but I don’t like the way you’re hating her so now she’s my favorite character)

The "Sansa reminds Sandor of his sister" motive that some people try to hitch to his character really just flies in the face of his actual attachments to her, doesn't it? Sansa reminds Sandor of himself. He sees the little boy who used to love knights in this girl who's been swept up by the same romanticism. He sees his abuser in her abusers, the much larger knight(s) beating on the helpless child. He sees how she is betrayed by every level of authority that should have saved her and remembers his father's neglect and Tywin and Robert's apathy for Gregor's crimes. He's protective of Sansa because he was Sansa.
And GRRM's design, that one of the strongest warriors in the series, a fearsome and cynical 6'8" guy who's "muscled like a bull" and has the face of death itself, sees himself in this soft and effeminate teen girl, and empathizes with her because he was an abuse victim too, is INFINITELY more compelling than "Oh yeah I bet she just reminds him of his sister," who he's never mentioned and who we know literally nothing about. Way to unnecessarily water down a character, you couldn't have ignored the black and white text more efficiently if you tried.

The Bright Queen is such an interesting contrast to Ludinus, because by his worldview, she should be on his side.
She was also alive during the Calamity. She also lived with the immediate post-war devastation of the fighting (we don’t know where Ludinus lived for sure, but she’s arguably even more familiar with it. It’s called the Wastes of Xhorhas for a reason). She doesn’t worship any of the gods; indeed, Lolth personally hates her! She has plenty of reasons to hate the gods, or at least not care if they die.
But critically, she knows that Ludinus is a huge dickhead, and knows he is her enemy.

say what you will about this cash grab spinoff series, but i actually really love this excerpt of wottg because
1) the first bit is really fucking cute and i will eat up any new canon percabeth, sorry but not really because THIS MAN JUST NEVER GETS TIRED OF LOOKING AT HER!!
2) rr FINALLY acknowledging annabeth is a “natural people person” that easily makes friends and gets along with others. ever since the pjo tv show casting call that gave the vibes of percy having to teach annabeth to love or be human or whatever, i’ve been so dubious of the way her character would be handled in his writing moving forward so it’s nice to see a more accurate reflection of who she is rather than a stoic, aloof, calculated individual that so many people lacking reading comprehension (and sometimes the showrunners) make her out to be. like this is the girl that immediately trusted and bonded with sadie while her boyfriend didn’t really trust carter and couldn’t bring himself to hug the guy at the end of their respective crossovers. the narrative that he’s the easygoing people person and she’s the guarded socially stunted one is so fucking annoying and untrue because context is everything and you’re ignoring it
3) percy jackson, you jealous son a bitch, your girlfriend’s possessiveness and insecurities have nothing on yours…deny it all you want

“If I am not Ladybug, I am nothing!!”
I haven’t really gone in-depth on Lila, so here’s a few shots of her backstory!!
CHOCOAU INFO BELOW!
Orphaned at a young age, Lila was taken in by Master Fu. There, she was raised alongside other pupils hand-selected by The Order to become the next Miraculous holders. She was taught that becoming Ladybug was the highest honor and Master Fu encouraged her to train hard so that she would be selected.
However, Tikki and Master Fu noticed how she often used manipulation and dishonesty to hurt her competitors or gain the upper hand, especially when she is angry. This worried them, and Tikki insisted that Lila cannot be the next Ladybug, even though he knew the Order had already determined it to be so.
In order to prevent this from happening, Master Fu took the miraculous and escaped to Paris. He gave it to Marinette for safe-keeping after being impressed by her kindness, but not intending for her to actually become Ladybug.
When Lila heard that Master Fu had betrayed her and surrendered her future to someone else, she was hurt and enraged. She vowed to prove Master Fu wrong and destroy Ladybug to take the miraculous for herself, by whatever means necessary.
The Order used her motivation to send her to Paris after him, and to recollect the miraculous. But of course, Lila never intended to serve their purpose.
This is definitely subject to change, but this is the rundown of her motivation so far! She ends up targeting Marinette as well because she knows that Marinette doesn’t believe her lies, and she can’t have her going around telling people what she says isn’t true.
