You grew more impatient and antsy with every passing day. Every day since you’d been off for the last two weeks had left you wondering when the day would finally come. Your due date was just a few days away and you really just wanted all of this to be over (the whole being almost nine months pregnant thing did that to you) and to finally meet your daughter. 

There wasn’t much you could do at this point, especially around the house or out in public, so you were basically just waiting. This kid was taking her sweet time to make an appearance. Nesting had already happened and by now you were sure that everything was in place as it needed to be. Steve was still working, at your insistence, although he was more than prepared to stay home with you so you didn’t completely lose your mind. 

And, you know, in the event that you finally went into labor. But you assured him that he would be the first to know, and if it happened while he was working, someone could easily fetch him. Instead you busied yourself with baking and cooking, making plenty of treats to keep your sweet tooth satisfied and stocking up on some meals that could easily be unfrozen on nights neither of you were prepared to cook with a newborn.

Now it was all one long waiting game. 

But maybe…it wouldn’t be too much longer after all.

“Oh,” you felt a sharp pain ripple through your belly and abdomen as you clutched the counter for a bit of support. The sensation felt odd and you definitely did not like it. But you also decided not to worry about it, trying to convince yourself that it was just a one time thing. After all, you were almost there in your pregnancy and lots of things could be happening. Yeah, looking back on it, you were definitely a fool.

After the initial pain had passed you went about your day, doing some laundry and making sure everything in the house was stocked up with what you'd need for at least several weeks. You’d done enough research, talked to enough mothers to know that you wouldn’t want to have to think about this for a while after having your baby. Unfortunately, the pains came again, but fortunately they were few and far between at this point. Nothing to worry about yet…

You finished up the last few things in the bathroom, when you felt the pain again, followed by what felt like a weird trickling feeling down your leg. 

You looked down and noticed the wet spot on your leggings and let out a long sigh. You knew that you hadn’t just wet yourself so that could logically only mean one thing, “shit.”

This was what you had been waiting for…and yet you felt so incredibly unprepared for this moment. You weren’t ready to go into labor and have your baby girl just yet…you needed some time, just a little more…but unfortunately that was not how life worked.

“Camila,” you rubbed your belly gently as if talking to her would get her to stay inside just a little bit longer. You tried to hold back your tears, but it was an overwhelming moment and you were experiencing approximately a hundred emotions at once, “can you wait just a little bit longer? Daddy’s at work and I-I don’t want to bother him. Just maybe until tonight, okay? O-or tomorrow morning.”

It was stupid, you knew, to try and push this off as long as you could but there was no reason to panic. You reminded yourself that you weren't going to do anything until the contractions came every couple of minutes and lasted for at least a minute or more. That’s when you’d go to the hospital. It would all be fine…everything would be just fine. That was the mantra you kept repeating to yourself anyway.

By the time Steve came home that night, things had…progressed. You tried to play it off as much as you could, deciding you would tell him over dinner. You wanted him to have a chance to change and relax for a little before springing it on him. You were able to keep it together for a bit, until you felt the pain coming again and held onto the fridge handle so tightly he was surprised it didn’t break.

“Sweetheart,” he looked at you with wide, nervous eyes as you tried to smile through the pain. That was easier said than done; there was nothing but a grimace on your face, “what’s wrong? Are you - did you - contractions?”

“Mhmm,” you closed your eyes and tried to breathe through it, “‘s fine, Stevie.”

“How long have you been having them?” he tried to slowly pull your hand away so you could hold his, and wrapped the other around your waist, “angel. Can you tell me what’s been going on?”

“Earlier,” you confessed and he let out a long breath. Alright, well, that might not have been the best thing, but you were going to be okay. He would make sure of that, “started earlier and then my water broke.”

“Your water broke!?”

“Yeah,” you gave him a sheepish expression in a vain attempt to calm him down. You should have known better than that, “they’ve been far apart enough and it’s just now getting worse.”

“You’ve been having them for hours though and your water broke,” he sat down on the couch, running a hand anxiously through his dark hair, “why didn’t you call me? Sweetheart, I love how strong and independent you are, but I really wish you would have called. I would have come home already and you could have been at the hospital by now.”

“I didn’t wanna bother you,” tears glistened in your eyes, not at him or anything but the entirety of the situation. He crouched down so he was on your level and tenderly brushed them away, “didn’t want to bug you at work.”

“Honey,” his tone adopted a soft, fond tone. Ahh, yes, of course his sweet, clumsy girl didn’t want to bother him, “this would not have bugged me at all. You are the most important thing to me, and you are never a bother.”

“‘m sorry,” you blubbered, “I wanted her to come and now I wish she’d slow down. I’m scared. I’m not ready for her to be here, I’m not ready to be a mom! I can’t do this, Stevie.”

“Sweetheart,” he cooed softly, stroking your cheek, tenderly turning your face up to his, “it’s okay to be scared and nervous; that’s normal. I’m so nervous too, I’m scared to be a dad. But I know we’ll be okay - we won’t be perfect and we’ll fuck up sometimes, but that’s just part of life. We’re going to be okay, angel. This is just the last big thing we have to get through before we get to meet our daughter. And I know you’re going to get through this, you’re so strong and resilient, but it’s okay to be scared.”

“Will you stay with me?” you looked at him with the softest eyes and he chuckled fondly, “please?”

“You don’t have to ask,” he pressed soft kisses to your forehead and cheeks before stopping at your lips, “I’ll be right by your side the entire time.”

“Can I hold your hand?”

“Absolutely.”

“Do you promise it’ll be okay?” your lip trembled with effort as you tried to keep from completely crying.

“Pinky,” he held out his pinky finger to you, which caused a sniffy laugh to bubble up as you wrapped your finger around his, “just think - soon we’ll get to meet our sweet Camila.”

“I hope she looks like you,” you blurted out as he just laughed softly, “you’re so pretty.”

“Flatterer,” he teased, “I hope she looks like you; or both of us. Either way, we’re gonna have a very cute kid.”

You inhaled before slowly letting it all out, “okay. I-I think I’m ready.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah,” you pouted, causing him to kiss it away until you were smiling again.

“I’m going to go and get your hospital bag and then we’ll go to the hospital,” he explained as you nodded, “I’ll be right there with you.”

“Okay,” you squeezed his hand tightly, “let’s do this then.”

It felt unreal being at the hospital, hooked up to a bunch of monitors and listening to your baby’s heartbeat. The initial nerves were still there, but there was also the pain that came with labor that pretty much overshadowed that. Steve, luckily, had kept to his word and was at your side the entire, letting you hold his hand, even when he was pretty sure you were going to break it. But it didn’t matter; he would do anything for you. 

He was also impressed in a weird way with how well you’d been able to handle your contractions throughout the day. By the time you were at the hospital and all settled in, it wasn’t long before you were ready to start pushing. And, despite your initial hesitancy and wanting to hold off on having a baby for a little while longer, you were more than happy to get going. 

And then, after all the worries, fears, and tears, it all ended with a crying, but healthy, baby girl. It all felt like it happened so fast; from pushing and having her, to getting to hold her for the first, to watching Steve sit next to you with the small bundle in his arms. It felt like the most perfect site in the entire world; he was looking at her like she was the most precious thing in the entire world. He knew what love was; he’d know what it felt like to fall in love with you. But this was like he was falling in love all over again. 

“I wish I had a camera,” you whispered softly, catching his attention as he looked up at you with a giant smile on his face. He scooted his chair as close as he could to your bed, making it so you could see her too, “she’s already got you wrapped around her finger.”

“Yeah,” he cooed softly at the sleeping baby, “she does. But so do you. I can’t believe we have a baby - we made her.”

“We did,” you held out your hand and ever so lightly brushed your knuckle over her cheek, “is it weird to already be so in love with her? It feels like we’ve always had her, always loved her.”

“It’s not weird at all,” he promised, leaning over to kiss you softly, “this is the second and a half best day of my life.”

“Steve,” you kept your laugh softly as you stroked his cheek, “what were the first two?”

“Meeting you and marrying you,” his eyes lit up happily, “besides - she wouldn’t have been possible without it.”

“It always comes down to the broken ankle,” you snorted in amusement, “but it’s like you always say, we would have met some other way; we were meant to be.”

“We were,” he beamed at you before looking back at his newborn daughter, “thank you for this. All of it.”

“Nothing to thank me for,” you insisted, stifling a yawn, “just remember that when it’s three in the morning and you’re on diaper duty.”

“I’ll complain but I’ll do it with love,” he promised, “I love you so much, my clumsy, stubborn, strong girl.”

“I love you,” you blinked away your tears, “both of you.”

“Yes,” he agreed gently, “we already love you so much, Cami girl.”

Thanks to his unique skill, Independent Manifestation, he was able to summon himself as your Servant while you were wishing for the male Arthur Pendragon, effectively sabotaging the summoning ritual. Merlin's unexpected appearance surprised you greatly but you were happy about it nevertheless. Merlin then invited you for a hug by spreading his arms, which Mordred who was with you at the time found odd. She later warns you to not fully trust Merlin but with how kindly he treats you, you heed her warning lightly.

Although Merlin is mostly used as a support for your Buster Servants, he'd insist that you use him as a damage dealer too. His B strength isn't just for show, and he proves himself when he effortlessly decimated the enemy Servants that attempted to take you hostage with his Excalibur during a mission. With his signature smile, he happily announced that you're safe before hugging you tightly.

When you've rayshifted to another era for an expedition, Merlin would make you sleep on his lap, claiming that it's more comfortable than the cold ground and that it'll be easier for him to watch over you this way. Unbeknownst to you, once you have fallen under sleep's spell, he would devour your dream and absorb the emotions within it. He then cups your face, his thumbs caressing your cheeks as he licks his lips. Your dream is wonderful, and he wonders if your blood will taste the same? Baring his fangs, he brings his face closer to your lips but swiftly pulls back when Bedivere shows up with a blanket for you.

The Magus of Flowers thinks that you're not appreciated enough in Chaldea. You have worked so hard to save humanity and proof of your efforts are shown in the scars you got from the countless battles you fought in. As he traces every scar, he sings you praises and tells you how proud he is to have you as his Master. You take comfort in his embrace and miss the eery glow of his violet hues.

Merlin follows you around Chaldea much like Fou does. He speaks of the king's tales and the fascinating events he observed from his tower in Avalon. You're unaware that as he chats away with you, he also uses his clairvoyance to steer you both clear of the Servants seeking your attention. How foolish of them to think that an inhuman mage like him is generous enough to share you with them.

When Merlin devoured your dream for the first time, he was overwhelmed. Your dream is so pleasant to the heart and he immediately became addicted. Your dreams are full of love that every time he absorbs the subtleties of your heart, his obsession for you only grows - to the point where he'd lose touch with his human side and give in to his carnal desires.

As he removes his intricate white robe, he crawls into bed with you in the middle of the night just to watch you sleep, his arms carefully holding your delicate body that could easily snap under his full strength. It reminds him just how weak yet strong humans are against fate. Merlin can be as lecherous as his incubus side, but he'll save that for the inevitable moment he traps you in Avalon with him.

Merlin's addiction to your dreams should not be taken lightly. He'll run around Chaldea like a starved beast if you're separated from him for even a day. Once he finds you, he'll pounce on you without warning and sink his fangs into your pulse in deep bites. He immediately laps up the blood drawn and since there's mana in your blood... you'll be in for a long night with a hungry incubus.

Sooner or later, Merlin will whisk you away to his tower once he feels that he's had enough fun in the present world. You'll spend the rest of eternity in the sealed utopia with him, where you'll be happy and protected by his magic. At least, that's what he believes.

He almost never clears his schedule, so while the date nights you have are lavish and thoughtful, they almost never happen. He always seems to have time to go to fancy wine bars with his colleagues after work though...

Even before the trap Lawrence had occasional angry outbursts, but after the trap, the divorce and his lack of going therapy for any of it, he's got a much shorter temper. He rarely gets angry directly at you, but he's easily frustrated by minor inconveniences. He craves complete control and stability, so little things set him off, like the time the microwave broke and you found him yelling and smashing a plate on the floor in a fit of rage. It's not directed at you, but you still find it scary.

After his angry outbursts, he becomes overwhelmed with guilt and begins to sob and plead for your forgiveness. You understand why he acts like this, but it's frustrating that it seems he cares more about clearing his own conscience than comforting you.

You notice certain things about his relationship with his daughter that rub you the wrong way. He doesn't really show affection by being an active parent in her life, but by showing up out of the blue once in a while with exorbitant gifts and trips to disneyland. She's too young to be upset with him buying her love at the minute, right now she just sees her dad as this superhero who swoops down to rescue her from her strict mother and shower her with gifts, but you get the feeling that she'll end up resenting him in the long run. You've tried to talk to Larry about this before, feeling especially worried that someday she may think that you were the one keeping her dad away from her, but Larry brushes it off every time.

He works long hours, so you're apart for most of the day. Occasionally he comes home, sceptical that you might have had another man over while he was gone. You can't help but think, maybe he suspects you'd do that because that's exactly what he would do in your situation.

When you get invited to dinner parties with his rich friends, he often coaches you on what to wear, how to talk do as not to come off as abrasive, and general etiquette. It feels somewhat like he's looking down his nose at you for not having the same upper class upbringing as him.

Sometimes complains that he's "too tired" for cuddles after sex, which really hurts your feelings. Credit where it's due though, once he realised why that makes you feel so unloved, he very rarely does it.

He gets you expensive and fancy gifts, but none of them are really things that you like, moreso things that he'd want you to like, to seem more classy. Diamond earrings and silver bracelets are pretty, but you'd much prefer a box set from your favourite TV show, or a cool tshirt with a funny design. He has a hard time distinguishing displays of wealth from acts of love.

He can be quite patronising about your interests, you tried showing him your favourite series, thinking it would fun for the two of you to watch out together, but he burst into laughter and asked "do you honestly watch stuff like that?"

Early on in your relationship, he joked that it's a relief that you've never met his ex wife, since she wouldn't exactly give him a glowing review. The only problem is, it felt more like him telling on himself that a joke, and the thoughts of what he might have done wrong in his past relationship - and what he may yet do to you - eat away at you.

this is also for you guys :) SO- we'll start w/ Lena's scars- also known as (insecure Lena) (scroll for fluffier ones) I feel that in the show we see a good amount of Lena getting into trouble and I would honestly be surprised if after 5 years (canon-compliant time) she wouldn't have any scars on her. Of course, since in the canon-compliant timeline she doesn't actually get seriously injured so they're not very noticeable once they fade (but in my post-canon au I do think she would have slightly more noticeable ones). Anywho- Lena also strikes me as the type of person who is (deep, deep, deep down- god she buries it so far down) pretty insecure. I think sometimes, although she'll go to work in a sleeveless dress or in a shirt that shows off her forearms and just be an all-powerful badass bitch boss, she'll wake up that morning- look at herself, and hate what she sees. She'll be taking a break from work and see a few scars littering her forearms. She'll put another layer on that covers them and tries not to cry (this is why for a while she'll also more frequently wear suits/more masculine coded outfits in my post-canon au). Lena is also definitely very soft and has tummy rolls- and this fuels her physical self-hatred/discontentment. BUT- our beloved Kara comes to the rescue! Kara would just hold Lena sometimes before bed and take the opportunity to tell her how beautiful she is and how much she loves her. Of course, she makes sure to tell Lena all of this at every chance she gets, but on quiet, slow evenings, she'll take the time to kiss each and every single blemish on the brunette's body and make sure she understands how wonderful she is. Kara is also in love with her tummy rolls and takes every chance she gets to kiss her stomach.

Which leads me to my next headcanon! (overwhelmed Lena) Lena (especially at the beginning of their relationship) easily gets overwhelmed by happy feels when she's with Kara cuddling (wow look it's my comic asdjakdja), or it's a lazy Sunday, and Kara's whispering sweet nothings into her ears as she tried to watch a movie or read a book. Kara, once realizing Lena's getting overwhelmed, tries to calm her down and once hearing her heartbeat return to normal- asks what she wants. Lena has two reactions to happy feels overload; "kiss me Kara Zor-El or so help me-" or something along those lines, and, "give me a minute". Kara of course always makes sure to respect all of her wishes. If Lena wants space, Kara goes and gets her a small snack usually. Relating into this, I also think Lena gets uncomfortable with touch on occasion- getting chills or starts mildly panicking when one of her friends brings her into a hug, or pats her back. This also applies to Kara- sometimes gets tense when, without warning, Kara will take her hand in hers, or hug her waist. Of course, Kara picks up on it relatively quickly (the first time it happens she makes sure that Lena knows to talk to her about it, and Lena does) and makes sure to give her space until Lena comes to her. I'll talk about one more darker one and then move on to just some short, cute fluffy ones- (nightmares and grieving)

THE CW DID THEM SO DIRTY. Both Kara and Lena have suffered through so much shit and the CW just skipped over it like how I do with my breakfast. Both Kara and Lena have nightmares. Especially right after the end of s6, they get them more often than not. And they find themselves calling each other after nightmares, and talking (either about them or just other things to lighten the mood). And for a while, Lena cries and grieves Lillian (I think everything that happened right before she died- in those few minutes- just sent Lena into a spiral of emotions she didn't know how to process). It's then that Lena asks Kelly about therapy, and starts getting it. Things aren't immediately better, nor is progress linear, but as the years progress, the pain she feels blends into the background. Kara, on the other hand, does not go to therapy and it takes longer for her to heal. But once Lena starts living with her, she's there and helping her through her grief and pain, and Kara's nightmares slowly become less and less frequent.

NOW ONTO SHORT N FLUFFY -Lena sometimes steals Kara's cape and uses it as a weighted blanket when sleeping (Kara gets and extra one made because she cant seem to take it off of her) -Kara steals various clothes from Lena's wardrobe (we know they swap clothes in the series as well) and the fit shouldn't go well together but IT DOES and Lena (along with half of CATCO is confused)

-After getting married: Kara and Lena wear both wedding rings and bracelets. The human population has absolutely zero clue as to what the bracelets are- and a lot of them speculate they were wedding gifts. But since they are more important to the couple than the rings, sometimes one of them (or both) forgets their ring at home and some of the other media corporations get super confused about it and start speculating every time it happens "LUTHOR-DANVERS: THE DIVORCE OF THE DECADE?" .

-Lena and Kara absolutely love ABBA (but hate Mamma Mia the movies) and have a record player as well as 3 boxes of old records they put on from time to time while cleaning up around the apartment - A not so fun one: (angry) yelling is quite triggering for Lena- and tells Kara so. If they argue, its usually just a heated conversation. -Lena sleeps on the left side of the bed. (Kara loves seeing the sun filtered through glass and creating a halo around the brunette and Kara is so gay). -Kara buys her own merch, but Lena is always the one who ends up wearing it and Kara really can't seem to find it in herself to care. - Lena definitely steals Kara's potstickers (Kara lets her) and the first time it happens at game night all hell breaks loose -Lena sleep talks but usually unintelligibly "ahh ausfnsdfiuefsj and I don't wanna.... asjdkdjskf why australia?". Kara usually wakes up when it happens, and jots down everything she said to tell her in the morning. -Lena makes grabby hands at Kara to show she wants cuddles -While doing the dishes, or other household chores, Kara usually sings about what she's doing (but doesn't realize she does it) "washin the dishes, mmm mhm mhm! aaaaandddd towelin em dry! woo!" and Lena wants to marry her all over again -Kara loves painting (this we see) and tried to convince lena to paint w/ her. Lena can't do art to save her life. - Kara goes out to fight in a supergirl onesie because crime interrupted their game night and everyone flips "What! It was Onesie Wednesday!"

-sometimes for fun, Kara gives Lena piggyback rides and asks lena to make noises like a jetpack or engine- the superfriends are so done with their bullshit

-kara and lena get a cat (streaky) and kara takes the opportunity to; first- do that trend where you let your cat pick their political party, pronouns, etc. (streaky uses he/they pronouns) and then dress him up in the most absurd outfits (streaky doesnt seem to mind, but lena groans and walks away every time Kara bring home a new fit). And for now- this is the last one because I've already been writing for like two hours (im sorry its so long ajsdkasdaskdajsd)

-Kara starts wearing the House of El crest on her clothing more and more often, and works her way up to wearing formal kryptonian attire to galas and events (once getting married Lena asks Kara if it's alright to wear similar attire- with Kara of course being really happy and saying yes). Anyways- asdasjkdaskdjaksd i went overboard and i apologize but uh- ill leave this here :)

I love thinking about vulnerable moments between harry and the missus when they’re still “just friends.” It’s so obvious that they care for each other so much, but there’s also some boundaries that are definitely starting to blur but still a little hard to cross because they haven’t established anything yet. Like imagine the missus being really overwhelmed and stressed about school and she starts crying, and Harry’s holding her hand, sitting on her bed with her. And he lets a pet name slip while he’s trying to comfort her and calm her down and is like 😳 internally because it’s the first time he’s done that but she just turns and snuggles into him. And obviously they’ve hugged plenty of times before but something about this is just different. 

PLEASE I LOVE THINKING ABOUT THESE MOMENTS TOO 🥺 Him calling her 'baby' in this moment and it just slips out so easily or naturally. And maybe she also realizes that she doesn't feel uneasy about being vulnerable or emotional in front of him like she has in other relationships or with other people. She just feels safe. She snuggles into him and he puts his arm around her and kisses her forehead.

With each syllable he uttered, she had to remind herself to inhale and exhale, though her luck in maintaining composure seemed elusive. Her features blushed a vivid shade of pink, extending even to the tips of her ears. It was as if she could effortlessly sense all his emotions and the love he held for her, a warm and nervous sensation that coursed through her in all the right ways.

While she continued to absorb his words, her fingers, once merely caressing his knuckles, had now intertwined with his, offering a source of comfort for herself, particularly since she felt too overwhelmed to meet his gaze during his heartfelt confession. All she could manage besides that was pushing a strand of hair behind her ear and admiring the intertwining of their fingers.

"I love you," she finally whispered after a brief moment of silence. The words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of eternity, the promise of soulmates, and the feeling of being two halves of a whole. It all welled up inside her, nearly bringing tears to her eyes, though she held them back, knowing he would playfully tease her for her tendency to cry easily. I'm so in love with chapter 15! Wicked has really become one of my favorites and ifjei I have so much to say about it! It's just fricking great you have no idea 😭

I love all those emotions you put in there! Their personalities feel so real. Hot headed prince and the gentle, but very emotional Mc. I understand both sides on that one conflict at the end. Jk had to do what he did. He grew up way different. He had to face the cruel world at a very young age. Penumbra isn't like Enoia. It's pure chaos. Either you protect yourself by building a wall over your heart or you go down. I get why he mistrusted her for a bit. It's for safety. Doesn't make the truth any less painful and right. He's definitely in the wrong and i hope he gets on his knees. Tho I must also say that the Mc isn't all innocent as well. She completely went behind his back and went to the underside and disregarded his feelings. Calling him a lair and all. She's so hurt and emotional by everything he said and didn't say that she is also the one who hurt him in the progress. It may not be on purpose, but she did. It confused me for a second, because she was known for being gentle and understanding, but in that moment she didn't understand him at all. She didn't even try where he was coming from. The feeling of pain was so overwhelming that she disregarded his feelings, called him a lair and basically went behind his back for no reason.

It was reckless for her to go to the underside, especially without letting anyone know. It makes me so impossibly angry that she thinks she's the only one hurt, because Wheein is in prison. As if Jk hasn't got any feelings at all. He even was all tired because of all the work he had to do, not only political matters, but also the thing with wheein. He fell asleep and she ran away. He was worried sick, because she wasn't there. He may not be good with words, but his actions speak them all. He cares and for her to just say his feelings are insincere, makes me so upset. Especially because HE was the one getting angry when she said her life basically didn't matter. It speaks volumes. She's not a victim, she's also at fault. Both of them are. I hope she apologizes to him as well. He started that whole thing and she continued. I hope they can resolve the issue and understand each other better. :(

The whole thing feels so real and I'm so impressed how much character you put into this fic. I'm so in love with it! Thank you thank you thank you. It's a masterpiece and I hope you know it. ^-^

First of all I can’t thank you enough for your thoughts on this chapter!! I LOVE deep diving into situations and characters. You have so many valid points about Jungkook and MC! However I’d like to impart a little bit of my thoughts on the writing process in hopes of easing the blow a little.

There are a few big overarching themes in this series, one being duality and the other being not everything is as it seems; don’t believe everything you hear.

While Jungkook had to face the cruel world at a very young age, so did MC, they are two sides to the same coin in this series, both on opposite teams of a war but still suffering trauma from it. MC has been vocal about it, if this chapter as told us anything lol, but Jungkook doesn’t bare his heart that easily, we will eventually get to hear his side of the five year war, as it most certainly affected him (being a child soldier). But the big thing I wanted to set up here was that that not everything is as it seems.

Eunoia is first set up as a Kingdom centered around nature and peace, giving and expecting nothing in return. A divine and sacred space. But as the series has continued, it’s revealed that it’s only been this way for a very short moment in time. They have an immeasurable amount of blood on their hands and sins on their shoulders as they used to be cannibals. I haven’t strictly used the word in the story but it’s heavily alluded too when the word ‘devour’ is used. Penumbra is called heathenistic nation in the beginning but as it turns out, they hardly are.

Eunoia however, cannot say the same. Duality again plays a big role in the story, while MC is supposed to be a gentle, understanding person (and she is!) she is still human. And she is more times then less, very stubborn and headstrong and she is incredibly temperamental in moments and hot headed herself. It states in the chapter that ‘it’s known by her family that she’s always had a temper’ this was a set up and both acknowledgement from her, and while she is reckless, she’s not above admitting that she is. In fact there’s actually a scene in chapter 16 of her talking about her innocence being non existent (which makes me sad in the sense that I can’t talk about this in further detail because it’s not out)

I think the biggest thing to understand is that MC does not parade around like a victim intentionally, she does however talk about her pain and her tribulations a lot, she’s been through much and she can’t stand it when someone tries to undermine it, when someone tries to say that she’s had an easy life because she’s from Eunoia, it may come across as victim playing but she doesn’t mean it as such, and if someone were to say it (because let’s be real it’s bound to happen soon), she’ll immediately rein it in. This isn’t to say she’s in the right in any way possibly, I’m only giving some perspective on where she’s coming from!

Jungkook however is both similar and yet different from her, he’s titled the wicked prince and yet there’s a certain softness about him that I wanted to incorporate, he’s very understanding and forgiving to those he loved despite everything he’s endured, he isn’t an aggressive or hot headed person by nature, it’s been trained into him at a young age but it’s still not something that comes easy to him.

I suppose what I’m trying to say, is that Jungkook and MC and both deeply flawed and complex people, the stereotype traits that they were supposed to have, ended up being what the other actually embodies deep down (a soft prince and head strong Princess among other traits). Not only that but they still embody the empathic Princess and cold prince. They are all of these traits above and yet they utilize them in different ways, they are both very different , they come from different upbringings, different kingdoms, different beliefs and yet they are almost the same.

The biggest takeaway from this story morally is to never believe what you hear until you experience it for yourself. Because you might find that Penumbra isn’t nearly as horrendous and heathanistic as they all said it was, but you might discover along the way the grotesque history of Eunoia.

Once again I can’t thank you enough for your thoughts on this chapter! I didn’t mean to ramble so long but I don’t think I’ve had the opportunity to touch on this before so I wanted to take it while I had that chance! 🫶🖤

He did come across very condescending, you’re right! Everything he said just came out so wrong 🥴 I think he just rolled with it, making all these assumptions because he was blindsided by the news, and it didn’t add up with what he knew about his daughter. In turn, it made it seem to Oc that he didn’t know or understand her at all. Oc and Seokjin’s happy bubble definitely got popped 😭

Taehyung will appear in season 3 briefly! He was supposed to in season 2 but I changed things up a bit. It won’t be very important to the story, I just wanted to write him into it. He has played an important role in her life, despite not being in it for nearly 6/7 years, so I want to bring her some final closure!

I think because of her father’s reaction, it would be very easy for Oc and Jin’s relationship to take two steps back (possibly more lol) BUT they have come a long way from season 1. i remember labelling maya as my snobby oc because of her lifestyle but over time i fleshed her out and realized she’s really not. she just grew up rich and a bit out of touch with the real world but deep down, she’s very sensitive and despite her lavishly displaying her money, she never does it to make anyone feel like she’s above them. she’s just trying to fill the void that her dad left in her life

i chose phoenix as her ro because out of the four, p always came off to me as the one who’s as rational as they are emotionally intelligent. and maya easily lets her emotions get the best of her; when she gets overwhelmed, she shuts the world out. she needs someone like phoenix who *i think* can understand what she feels but also talk some sense into her and keep her lucid before she mentally shuts down completely

i have this scenario in my head where maya tries to compliment phoenix and tells him he has beautiful eyes and phoenix just ruins the moment like “you’re flattering yourself. we have the same blue eyes” and it annoys her because she was being sincere but he’s not wrong 😭

Adding to this I want to tell you my fav scenes of yours that I have re-read for 84000 times,would read again,first is from Inevitable where oc watches jk bonding with their son and she gets overwhelmed with all the emotions after holding back nd all the responsibilities and finally snaps. She tries not to interrupt them by her crying but fails nd then jk comforts her and little jeon proposes the kiss trick🥺 for stopping his momma from crying. This scene lives in my mind like a movie.And each time I read it I feel the same like the first time. It was so raw, realistic and vulnerable.Its not only my fav fic from urs but it's my fav of all time.

And then comes the plm bonuses the fight and aftermath which are absolutely amazingly written.How realistic you've made their relationship.They are two complete opposite personalities so this kind of fight was bound to happen in one way or the other. But still their struggle to overcome their differences especially oc's who was ready to compromise having babies just to agree with him.The scene where he picks up on oc's antics of not easily speaking her mind through a drawing and then confronting her when she comes to his office with food.And there are more. These little things that you incorporate in your works are so heart touching, realistic and beautiful.

even tho amihan and immy are very different personality-wise I think they both are very similar in what they want and what they need

they're both neurodivergent (adhd) women who feel DEEPLY and WHOLLY. they both unconditional love and they're both very capable of giving it. they also want someone who's physically protective lol. they can take care of themselves but that's something they find attractive in a partner (all of immy's LIs were and are warriors lmao 💀)

the difference is immy was raised in an environment where her feelings were validated and where she was shown unconditional love by the people closest to her and she had a community. it was safe for immy to be more or less ~soft.

amihan did not - for all those years in the Circle she had one singular friend, finn aldebrandt, and it wasn't until the broken circle where finn tells her that he loves her (platonic) because the environment they grew up in discouraged openness and vulnerability. after all anyone could be transferred, made tranquil or whatever else.

I think if amihan was raised in a healthier environment though, she'd still be grouchy sometimes and a fuddy duddy lol, but not to the extent in canon where her years or repression made her emotionally volatile
