U.A. High in my DR !
Basics
Students are separated randomly into specific departments and classes sectioned by the letters A-K.
These departments are:
Department of Heroics (A - B): Students in this department learn everything they need to know in order to become excellent heroes in service to the community. They are trained in battle, first aid, rescue, support, and all manners of heroic-related lessons.
Department of General Education C - E): Students who don’t make it to the hero course are included here. This department supports students aiming for college and other pursuits. It’s also possible for students with good grades and exceptional strength and quirk skills to be transferred into the hero course (And either the support or business course mind you). Basically regular HS but they get to say that they went to UA on their resume.
Department of Support (F - H): Students here focus on developing support equipment that helps heroes out on the battlefield. With a workspace stock to the brim with all sorts of special tools and their own studio to build things, this department provides an unmatched creative environment.
Department of General Management (I - K): This department focuses on all aspects of heroic business, from the founding and managing of hero agencies to the promotion of public opinion regarding heroes. They even do hands-on lessons in venture capitalism. They have a lot of free time.
Each class is usually comprised of 21 students. That means that the total student population at UA would be 693.
We stay in the same class with the same teacher for all 3 years.
Since UA is a highly prestigious school, we get a lot of funding and benefits for the dorms and when we go on trips and whatnot. (Food we buy for the dorms is paid for, we get free snacks/concessions in the sports festival, free hero costume updates and renewals)
The school curriculum is way less loaded than here. The school system is much better.
The Hero Teachers are actually good at teaching.
Since U.A. is famous, it has many sponsors with support and hero merch companies, so some hero course students (usually 3rd years) have their own hero merch already. Students are sometimes sponsored and do photoshoots and are invited to red carpet events. (Following the School Festival, Class 1-A gets loads of sponsors and stuff!)
The teachers and students are encouraged to decorate their classes and most of them do so.
U.A. has a popular school website.
Staff and students are recommended to have Twitter to update the public events, the majority of the students obviously don't take this seriously, there's always someone who has beef and makes it public (Monoma) and it always ends up like those MHA Tweets, it’s the funniest thing ever.
Schedule
School is Monday - Friday and starts at 8:25 and finishes at 15:10. Regular classes take place during the first half of school, then the afternoon (for the Dept. of Heroics) you will have hero training. Only Dept. of Heroics students have an additional 7th period.
The teachers move between classes while the students stay in 1 class (besides electives).
Wednesdays are half days and only consist of hero training (so no typical school work), though sometimes it's replaced by FHS. You also don't have to wear your uniform on Wednesdays.
We will always have some kind of free time for school despite our somewhat busy schedules.
Not all school days are the same (emergency drills, other schools coming to train with us, etc.).
Classes
Core Subjects for Dept. of Heroics
Homeroom: Taught by Aizawa. Acts as a study hall. The class reps will often give a small meeting with the class about important events during this period.
Japanese: Taught by Cementoss. Focuses on reading, writing, and literature.
Mathematics: Taught by Ectoplasm. Covers algebra, geometry, and calculus.
English: Taught by Present Mic. Emphasizes reading, writing, and conversation skills.
Home Economics: Taught by Midnight. Cooking and other aspects of household management.
Foundational Hero Studies (FHS): Taught by All Might, Aizawa or Midnight. Hero related studying: hero laws, safety precautions, first aid, jsl, media training, dividing hero and civilian identity etc.
Hero Training: Taught by various teachers, usually Aizawa or All Might, it changes every week and we are informed about the activities during homeroom. For example: Quirkless Combat, Rescue Training, Combat, Quirk Training etc.
Elective Subjects
Thought by various teachers. This is the only class where students move instead of teachers, these are shared, so you could end up with classmates from other classes. Students get to completely choose what electives they have. If they don’t choose, they are placed in extra training or study hall.

Class 1-A Timetable
Around UA campus
The updated UA security system is really good. The sensors are so good, you don't even need to have your ID out. They can scan it anywhere on your person. If you lost or misplaced your ID, the gates also have facial recognition software, so it's fine. If you're not a student or staff, you NEED a visitor pass or the school will go into lockdown on you.
We can use our school IDs to get snacks and drinks from vending machines around the school hallways. It’s free and they are replenished daily.
UA has a courtyard where we can eat outside. Most of the 2nd and 3rd years get food from places outside of the school campus and eat outside in the courtyard. Because of this, the cafeteria isn't as crowded and when we eat lunch we can sit and enjoy our food comfortably. The cafeteria is also luxurious and looks like a fancy mall café.
The library is huge and has many resources with much to explore. There are many different levels with varying types of quiet floors and study halls. It's also open 24/7 so students who are fighting to finish a project can pull all-nighters.
There’s a little shop that has U.A. and hero merch and school supplies including books for courses. You can also buy the merch on the online website.
UA has extracurricular groups and clubs for those who aren't in the hero course such as other sports and things like cheerleaders, debate, theater, music, cooking, ballet, and much more. I mean, hero course students CAN do those things but they WILL have a hard time doing so all while dealing with said hero responsibilities. As mentioned before, business course students have a lot of free time and general ED students are basically regular HS students who just so happen to be going to UA and for support course students, it really depends on how much work you choose to take on for yourself.
There is a study center where students who need extra help can go. Students with failing grades must go here for a set amount of hours to get the help they need. It’s strictly work, and talking about anything other than school is basically prohibited. It’s usually run by Ectoplasm and his clones or Hound Dog.
Work studies & Internships
All first years do an internship, it’s required. This is usually after the sports festival when students have had a chance to show off their skills.
Work studies are basically experience-oriented off-study programs that allow students in the hero course who have Provisional Licenses to work with pros at their agencies. Students will be able to use their quirks under the guidance of a pro, and can even be dispatched to fight villains and help out in disaster areas. If you do well, you can be scouted to become the hero’s sidekick.
Work studies are a more serious version of internships. They entail helping pro heroes on the streets and with investigations. They are usually reserved for 2nd and 3rd-year students, who usually have their licenses. 1st years didn't do them in the past. However, with the rise of villain activity, the school decided to open up work studies to 1st years as well, albeit a very small and select few of them. If they didn't find a good agency with a proven track record they wouldn't do it at all.
Events
U.A. has seasonal dances and a lot of events, like Halloween, Hero Day and other festivals.

School Bag
Along with the Uniforms the school hands out bags. You can return them and use your own if you’d like.
A standard deep blue nylon matching the uniforms. The U.A. logo sits at the right bottom corner.
Class
If you’re standing at the front of the classroom looking out at the desks, the seating arrangement starts at the leftmost side of the room (“A” names), going front to back and then going to the next row to the right, and so on. keep in mind that the alphabetical order here is based on the Japanese alphabet. My number is 10.
Here's how I laid out the desks for 21 students:
Since we stay in the same classrooms for most of the days we can leave out stuff at our desks. They have shelves underneath with 2 outlets and lots of space.
Class 1-A Friend Groups
Everyone is actually really close, but those are what groups spend the most time together. Of course we hang out in different groups or all together too.
We have frequent movie and game nights, 1-A has a group chat and it’s always active, there’s always someone wanting to do something. Sometimes we invite people from other classes.

“Sir, UA has such a strict and well-planned curriculum. What could possibly have been “neglected” by the faculty and staff?”
Aizawa smirks at Ida as if the young Engine hero has made a particularly funny joke. He looks out at the class and takes a deep breath before his next statement:
“This afternoon Recovery Girl and Midnight will be joining us as we discuss a crucial topic. We are going to walk you through an Intro to our Sex Ed curriculum.”
The class is silent. Then, a hiss rises from the back right of the classroom.
“Yesssss. Yesss! Finally! You’re finally granting permission for us to appreciate all of the gorgeous ladies in our class! It’s my time to shine - ” Mineta’s unhinged chattering is silenced when Mr. Aizawa easily wraps him in his capture gear.
“Does anyone else have an inappropriate comment to share?” The teacher asks lazily. The class says nothing. Mineta whimpers pathetically beneath the layers of binding cloth and Erase rHead ignores him.
There’s a bright knock at the classroom entrance. Before anyone can answer, the large door flies open to reveal UA staff members Midnight and Recovery Girl. As usual, Midnight is sparkling with energy, smiling devilishly at the class as she glides into the room. Recovery Girl has less flare as she steps into the classroom – her movements are quiet and stiff. The wrinkles on her face tell stories of a lifetime of hero work.
“Hello, Class.” The school nurse says as she stands before them all. “I’m so sorry we didn’t get to this conversation at the beginning of the year. There’s just been so much chaos and injury lately surrounding UA, we weren’t able to prioritize the Sex Ed curriculum the way we normally do.” She beams at them, looking pleased to be out of the infirmary for once.
Midnight sweeps her arms out dramatically. “Your changing hormones are no doubt running rampant! We’re here to tame you little demons. Let me dominate this conversation and teach you the true meaning of pleasure.”
Mineta groans audibly from within his binding cocoon, and a look of disgust flashes across Mr. Aizawa’s face.
“Settle down, Midnight.” He turns to address the class at large. “As part of the curriculum we will have monthly Sex Ed & Health seminars run by Midnight, Recover Girl and me. During these sessions we will discuss the basics surrounding reproduction, consent, and safety. We will also split into small groups where you can feel more comfortable to ask potentially embarrassing questions.”
“To kick things off for today, we’re not going to give you the classic “your bodies are changing” lecture you get in middle school. Instead, we’re going to set some ground rules for living in a shared dorm space with classmates your age.” Mr. Aizawa shifts on his feet and looks over at Recover Girl, prompting her to take over.
The elderly hero shuffles up to the front of the class and grins up at them through thick coke bottle glasses. “Here’s the deal, kids. We realize that you all live on the campus and that your scholarly lives overlap with your home lives in a new and unique way. This is a unique situation, and we ask that you do your best to prioritize your studies and your health at all times. If you find yourselves struggling with your mental or physical health, we ask that you speak to one of us and we can create a plan together to help you get on track.”
“Additionally, we’re expecting you to be respectful of each other’s personal space. You all share a dorm, so between class and dorm life you will be together 24/7. This can be fun since you’re fairly friendly with each other, but eventually there will likely be conflict and disputes. Please come to us for help mediating any tough living situations, we are more than happy to step in and help you sort through challenging relationships.”
“And speaking of challenging relationships…” Midnight cuts in, tossing her thick purple hair over her shoulder as she squares up to the class. “Let’s talk about dating.”
At this point, most of the class’s faces are bright red. The room’s vibe has shifted from curious to uncomfortable and awkward.
“Most of you are 16 now, and understandably you may start to take notice of your classmates in new ways. You may want to explore relationships beyond friendship.” Midnight winks at your class meaningfully. “You are all independent young adults and we can’t control how you feel about one another. But unfortunately, we will be enforcing a strict no dating policy this year.”
“What!?” Mina and Toru cry out in unison. Midnight’s mouth quirks into a sad smile and she looks over at the girls. “Sorry, ladies. We have never had a dorm program before, so there is still much to figure out. Obviously we aren’t going to monitor you all 24/7. But we are going to trust that you are all being appropriate in the dorms and respectful of each other. And that means no dating and no physical relationships between students.” You feel your ears burning at those words, you wish you could look over to see Shoto’s reaction. Thankfully, you’re sure that he’s got his typical stoic look plastered on his face.
“Rest assured, there will be plenty of time in your life for dating and exploring your sexuality with consenting partners. But for now – you are all students first. Focus on making this year at UA count. Learn all you can and grow into strong, supple young heroes.”
Recovery Girl chimes in, a sweet smile on her face. “Despite our zero tolerance policy surrounding dating and physical relationships between students, we will be educating you on the finer points of consent, protection and building healthy relationships in our monthly seminars.”
Mr. Aizawa releases his hold on Mineta and drags himself back to the front of the classroom alongside his fellow educators. “Please remember – you are all minors. We want to reinforce that relationships with adults are strictly forbidden. If any adult approaches you inappropriately at an internship, at an agency or in public we implore you to report it to us so we can deal with it and keep you safe. Many people around Japan know who you are due to the televised broadcast of the sport’s festival. I’m not saying this to scare you – but I want you to be aware that your faces are fairly well known and not every fan that approaches you has good intentions.” He rearranges his binding scarf around his shoulders before looking back out at his class.
“Are there any questions?” Mr. Aizawa scans the room with interest. You turn your head to see if anyone is raising their hand. To your surprise, Shoto’s arm is in the air.
“Yes, Todoroki.” Midnight calls on him, pointing at him with her wildly inappropriate tiny leather whip. “What’s your question?”
“I don’t understand.” Shoto says in his typical flat tone. “You’re going to teach us about sex but you don’t want us to have it?”
And just like that, the tension in the room breaks. The entire class is laughing out loud.
“I’m serious.” Shoto says blankly, not understanding the giggles surrounding him. “Shouldn’t we be executing practical examples of the knowledge we’re learning? Isn’t that how our training works?” Shoto’s brow is creased a bit in obvious frustration, but this just makes everyone laugh even harder. Even Bakugo is joining in at this point.
“Why Icy Hot – you tryin’ to get laid!?” Katsuki cackles out, adding to the chaos.
“Quiet.” Mr. Aizawa’s quirk activates, his hair rising up into the air intimidatingly. The laughter fades quickly. The teacher decides to take mercy on Shoto. “We’re going to give you knowledge and background on these subjects so that if you do eventually want to have a physical relationship after graduation, you’ll be able to do it safely.”
“Think of it this way.” Midnight says, putting a finger to her chin as she talks it through. “We’ll be teaching you Sex Ed theory. Later on in life you can use what you’ve learned and practically apply that theory.”
Shoto still seems a little miffed, but finds this answer acceptable.
“Any other questions?” Recovery Girl prompts.
Mina raises her bright pink hand. “Are the other years allowed to date? Or is it just our year?”
“That’s a good question.” Recovery Girl says encouragingly. “As of right now, dating and relationships are off limits for all course levels. However, we have made a few exceptions for members of the senior class who have recently turned 18 and are in good standing with their grades and internships.”
“Isn’t the age of consent in Japan 16?” Kaminari raises his hand but doesn’t wait to be called on. “Most of us here are 16 – why can’t we date?”
“This is what we have decided on as a faculty. You will abide by these rules.” Mr. Aizawa says firmly, causing Kaminari to shrink back into his chair. “Any other questions?”
No one else raises their hand. “Thanks for the time everyone. You all know where to find me!” Recovery Girl waves kindly at everyone as she makes her exit.
Midnight cocks her hip and waves her leather whip around one final time, signaling an end to their awkward discussion. “Thanks for listening, class! I’m excited to take this journey of physical maturation with you all.” And with that, she leaves as well.
Mr. Aizawa looks out at them all, clearly exhausted. He lifts his arm and reveals a small clicker in his hand. He hits the combination of buttons that open up their hero costume closet. “Alright, everyone – get changed and meet at the gym for combat training. It’s going to be a long afternoon.”

Combat training is exhausting as per usual. It’s so intense that you don’t have the headspace to really mull over all that Aizawa, Midnight and Recover Girl have told you. One big question does eat away at your nerves, though – given the class wide dating ban, will Shoto want things between the two of you to end?
During the training class, Shoto doesn’t even glance your way. You ignore him in kind, focusing all your energy on your sparring matches with Tsu and Ochaco. The whole afternoon is intense, your body quickly becoming sore from all the movement. When the bell rings to signal the end of classes, you’re immensely grateful. You troop to the locker room with the other girls and indulge in a long, hot shower.
You have a quick dinner in Class A’s dorm with the rest of your class, scarfing down some leftovers as you complete some homework at one of the many kitchen tables. Shoto sits down next to you with his own meal and textbooks.
He makes a show of setting up his homework – opening his textbooks slowly and laying out all of his pens on the table between the two of you. As he sets out a pencil, he purposefully flicks it so that it rolls into your bowl of soup. You look up at him in surprise and he flashes you a gentle smile, moving his hand to grab the rogue writing implement. He touches his pinkie to yours for a few seconds as he scoops up the pencil. The light touch sends electricity up your arm and you quickly pull it away.
You know that Shoto did it purposefully by the way he smirks at your reaction. You work quietly next to each other for the next hour, studying in parallel. It feels strangely intimate and strange – it’s almost like in studying next to each other, you’re flaunting your secret for all to see. Part of you keeps waiting for Shoto to turn to you and ask to review the day’s earlier Sex Ed discussion, but he keeps his head down in his work.
After an hour or so he packs up his books and gets ready to leave. Before he does so, he glances around to ensure that everyone else is occupied before he reaches towards you and draws a small star in the corner of your notebook page. A moment later, he’s gone – marching back to his dorm room with his stack of books and writing instruments.
You stare down at the tiny star, a smile pulling at your lips. You’re not sure exactly what Shoto intended the star to mean. But you’re sure as hell that if Shoto was breaking off your little hookup arrangement, he wouldn’t take the time to scribble a sweet doodle in the margins of your notebook. Maybe you should just text him and ask what he wants to do – what he thinks? You shake your head to clear it before diving back into your English homework.

A few hours later, you end your evening in Mina’s room.
You and Mina are huddled on the floor around Toru, who is drawing out a battle plan on a small white board.
“Alright.” Toru says, concentrating. “Here’s a list of all the supplies we would need to throw a totally-rad-top-secret-awesome party. And here are all of the variables we will need to figure out in order to pull it off in secret – distracting Mr. Vlad King is going to be our biggest challenge. Ugh, and then there’s Monoma. We’re gonna need to keep him from blowing up our spot again this time.”
Mina grabs the dry erase marker from Toru’s hand and quickly crosses Monoma off of the list. “He won’t be a problem this time around.”
You give Mina a questioning look. She waves you off. “We’ll get to that in a minute. Let’s focus on party supplies first. We will need to pick up soft drinks, chips and snacks. We can ask someone to grab paper goods like cups, plates, napkins, etcetera…ooo we should ask Sato to make some sweets!”
“Do you really think the whole class is going to be up for this? They’re all still way pissed about the curfew rule.” You ask skeptically.
“I’ve started asking around on the down low.” Toru chimes in, drawing some hearts stars in the corners of the white board. “So far everyone is pretty interested. I think the class needs a break to blow off some steam. Our course load has been so crazy lately, it’s been a while since we were last able to have some fun as a group.”
“Who did you ask?” You’re curious.
“Despite some initial hesitance, Ochaco and Tsu are in. They convinced YaMomo to come as well. I think she even said she’d bring some tea or something. Midoriya is all in, too – he’s going to work on getting the class rep to be cool with everything. Shoto and Tokoyami said they’d show up if it happened, but they weren’t too keen on helping with the planning process. Sero and Kirishima said they can help us with any heavy lifting. That’s it so far – I’m going to keep spreading the word tomorrow.” She notes all of the people who have expressed interest down on her white board.
“What about Minetta?” Mina asks, making a clear yuck face. “Like, I know he’s a member of our class. But lately he’s been extra gross.”
“Ugh…yeah we kinda have to invite him, don’t we?” You say, thinking back to a time earlier in the month when Minetta tried to smack your ass in the cafeteria. “He’s the worst.”
You’re distracted when you feel your phone buzz in your pocket. It’s Shoto. You turn to read your phone so that the others can’t easily see the screen.
Shoto: Hey Y/N. I have been thinking a lot about the Sex Ed class today. I’m concerned that by continuing together we’re breaking the rules.
Y/N: Yeah, I was thinking the same.
Shoto: To be honest, I don’t really care about the rules. I think we should do it anyway.
You smile and warmth bubbles up your chest.
Y/N: I’m in if you’re in.
Shoto: I'm in 💯.
You set the phone down, trying to ensure you’re not smiling an unnatural amount.
It buzzes a second time. You flip it over, expecting another text from Shoto. Instead, you’re surprised to find a message from Honenuki.
Honenuki: Hey Y/N! Check out this song, it’s been a favorite of mine lately.
You click on the link and it immediately takes you to a YouTube video for an old 1960s song. “Some Kind of Wonderful” by the Drifters. You hastily click pause before the song can buffer and start playing.
Y/N: Can’t wait to check it out!! Here’s one I’ve been listening to.
You shoot back a Spotify link to the latest Sabrina Carpenter song and put your phone back on the ground.
Honenuki: Sweet, I’ll take a listen!
“Oooo who’s texting you, Y/N!?” Toru puts down the white board so you can all get a clear view of it. She reaches for your phone but you snatch it away before she can grab it.
“No one crazy. Just Honenuki from earlier.”
You now have Toru and Mina’s full attention. “Whaaaaat!?” They both cry out, scrambling over each other to get closer to you.
“What did he say!?”
“Did he ask you out?”
“Is he confessing?”
“OMG does he want you to sneak out of our dorm and over to Class B’s so he can make sweet love to you!?”
This last comment from Mina brings you all to silence. And then you break into a fit of giggles.
“No, guys, its not like that! He’s just nice!”
“Ok, ok. We believe you.” Toru waves Mina’s comment off with invisible hands. “And its not like any of us can pursue a fated romance anyway. Not with the new “rules” that have been announced by Mr. Aizawa, Recovery Girl and Miss Midnight earlier today.
Mina rolls her eyes. “Yeah what the hell was that about? It really feels like these extra Sex Ed classes came out of nowhere.”
“Hmmm.” Toru caps her dry erase marker and presses it to her unseen lips. “I wonder if something happened to trigger this response from the teachers. Do you think people in one of the first year classes are actually dating?”
Your stomach drops.
Mina gasps. “Oh my GOD! Do you think someone we know has been having sex!?” She shrieks out, and you and Toru shush her.
“Absolutely not!” Toru flails her arms around for good measure.
“There’s no way.” You say with a shaky laugh. You try to keep your face from flushing. A thought hits you. “And even if people were…doing sexual stuff…how would the teachers know?”
“Maybe someone got caught!” Mina declares, her antennae twitching thoughtfully. “Think about it…maybe a couple was sneaking around in the dorms and one of the teachers caught them banging on campus during a faculty patrol.”

“He can do that?” Toru says doubtfully.
“He can.” Mina says confidently, turning to the blonde intruder with a grin. “Okay, now you can apologize to them, Monoma.”
The Class B menace shifts uncomfortably on the floor, eyes slightly downcast. “Look, I know it was shitty of me to report you guys last time. I shouldn’t have - ”
“Yes it was shitty! We have a stupid curfew now because of you!” Toru bursts out, clearly pissed that her time is being wasted listening to Monoma.

I can run up to Mr. King and tell him that I have an urgent issue that I need his help with. I’ll lead him away from the dorm buildings and towards the combat training facilities.”
“What will you tell him?” Mina asks, leaning forward on her elbows.
“I’m going to say that a student from Class A went to do some solo training at night and ended up getting himself into trouble. Then I’ll point him in that direction before returning to the Class B dorms.”
“What student from Class A will be the diversion?” You wonder aloud.
Monoma’s smile sparkles in the light of Mina’s fairy lights. “Minoru Mineta.”

“Mmm.” You hum with pleasure as he drags delicate fingertips through your scalp. Your phone continues to buzz. You’re annoyed and can’t enjoy yourself properly. You reach out and stop Shoto’s hand before it can go any further. “I should really check that.”
You get to your feet and adjust your sweatpants, secretly cursing whoever is trying to get ahold of you. You open up your phone and the screen reads “Mina Ashido: 4 missed calls.” Huh? You quickly hit redial. The phone barely rings once before Mina is squealing into the phone.
“Mr. Aizawa is doing a curfew checks! Make sure you’re in your room!” She all but shouts into the phone.
“What!?”
“It’s only 10:05 and he gave Toru and I detention for being out in the common area past curfew! He said he’s doing bed checks and knocking on doors next. Are you in your room!?”
“OMG!” You hang up on Mina and frantically wave your arms at Shoto.
“Aizawa is doing bed checks! You need to get to your room now!”
Shoto’s eyes widen and he quickly scoops up his English books from the floor. You push him towards the exit in a panic. You wrench the door open and quickly look up and down the hallway – it’s mercifully empty. Mr. Aizawa clearly hasn’t gotten to this floor yet.
“Okay, it’s all clear – go, go, go!” You push Shoto from the room bodily, his eyes still large and overwhelmed as he goes.
“But wait, I didn’t get to kiss you goodbye - ”
“This is life or death Shoto! Get out of here!” You push him in the direction of the staircase and quickly shut your door behind him. You hear his footsteps recede down the hallway and breathe a sigh of relief.
You call Mina back in a hurry. “Hey, sorry I hung up! I was out in the hall and had to make a beeline to my room before Aizawa made an appearance. He hasn’t been up to my dorm yet.”
“Thank goodness I got ahold of you before you got caught after hours! Lucky timing.” Mina sighs. “Now Toru and I need to spend tomorrow evening cleaning the classroom since we ‘broke curfew.’ This is bogus!”
“Wait that sucks.” You look in your mirror and fix your static hair as you chat. Suddenly, you have an idea. “I can come and help you, though. We can discuss our master plan while we clean!”
Mina laughs. “That would make it more fun! You’re such a good friend Y/N. I can always trust you to make things a little brighter.” You feel a knot form in your stomach at these words – Mina still has no idea about you and Todoroki. The magnitude of this secret weighs heavily in your heart. You bite your lip with anxiety. Should you tell her? She majorly saved your butt with that warning call…
“You too, Mina. You’re the best.” You say. You can’t seem to find the words to explain your Shoto situation to her, so you opt not to tell her. Your stomach continues to turn over in guilty knots. You hear hard footsteps coming up the hall, followed by the sound of distant knocking. “Oh my goodness I think Mr. Aizawa just made it to this floor. I’d better go.”
“Bye, girl! Text me!” Mina hangs up, leaving you to finish adjusting your appearance in the mirror. You make yourself presentable, pulling your hair up into a clean ponytail and adjusting your clothes to look less rumpled. A moment later, there’s a hard knock on the door.
You take a deep breath to center yourself and try not to look super ultra guilty when you open the door. Your teacher stands looming in the doorway, his hero costume looking a bit worse for wear. He must have just come back from patrol. He looks world weary and exhausted, the deep shadows under his eyes look worse than usual. His eyes are bloodshot – a typical side effect of his quirk.
“Oh, hi Mr. Aizawa. Is everything alright?” You ask brightly.
He glares down at you, but not unkindly. With his reddened eyes, he just tends to glare.
“Just doing a random check to make sure everyone’s sticking to curfew.” He says, voice gravely. “I’m surprised you weren’t in the common room with Ashido and Hagakure, you’re usually inseparable.”
You blink nervously at this – is he onto you or are you just being paranoid?
“Yeah I wanted to get some quiet reading done tonight. And you know how they are…definitely not quiet.” That’s the dumbest thing you’ve said all day, but for some reason Aizawa buys it.
“Yeah you kids are definitely one of the rowdier classes I’ve had over the years.” His sour look softens into an almost-smile. “Please go to bed at a reasonable time – we have a lot of training this week.”
“Will do!” You chirp out – you can’t believe you’re actually getting away from this situation unscathed.
He moves on to the next room and mutters quietly, almost to himself - “I caught Todoroki out of his dorm, too. We’re going to need to review the definition of “curfew” in homeroom class tomorrow.” He gives you a vague wave and you shut the door quickly, breathless. So Shoto didn’t make it to his room – from the sound of it, he ran right into Aizawa on the stairs.
You reach for your phone to text Shoto about the situation, typing out a quick “You got caught!?” accompanied by some shocked emoji faces. You hit send, and are surprised when you hear a buzzing noise coming from the direction of your bed – in his haste to escape your room, Shoto left his phone on your pillow.
“Aw, crap.” You scoop up the phone in its plain grey case and see your own text flash against the screen. You place it on your nightstand and resolve to discreetly give it to Shoto before class the next morning. Poor Shoto – caught for breaking curfew. You feel bad knowing that you’re the reason he likely has detention with Toru and Mina.
You get ready for bed - pulling on your comfiest pajamas and smoothing moisturizer across the planes of your face. You’re exhausted and still basking in the afterglow of your little hookup with Shoto. It would be so nice if he were here with you right now to cuddle. You wish you could run your fingers through his soft hair and watch him fall asleep in your arms again. Despite his absolute insane skills in combat training, Shoto is such a sweet quiet soul. You want to praise him for his sweetness, and help him realize that there are so many wonderful pieces of him aside from his powerful quirk.
You settle into bed and get comfy amongst your plushies, settling in for a good night’s rest. Your alarm is already scheduled for the next morning, but you double check that it’s set anyway. You take a moment to scroll through Instagram and are startled when Shoto’s phone starts to buzz on your night table. You scoop it up out of habit and read the screen. It’s a text from YaMomo.
Momo: “Hey Shoto, you left your sweatshirt in my dorm room yesterday evening. Come pick it up tomorrow? Good night.”
Um…WTF!?

Finally finished with Bonnie's Bullworth ID thing. Okay first things first, yes those are stickers he put on his ID himself and second he's actually an oc I've had for a long time but I'm too lazy to make a new oc for every fandom I join. This is basically an AU (let's treat this as a window into his youth cuz in the early 2020s* he's an adult already), so as of this Bully AU he'll be treated with his respective canon to here and every other AUs I subject him too. *his canon timeline he's in his 20s
Bonnie is an eccentric one and believe it or not even odder than the residents of Bullworth: He's an exchange student from a different school from a different town known as Sunny Isles.
A Program was initiated that 1 student visits a school to experience how the school's curriculum is and if the program students think the school is good to be advertise to more foreign students looking for other school with the desired programs. AKA The Academy can get a lot of money and benefits.
Dr. Crabblesnitch accepted and personally picked out of 100 foreign exchange students that he felt Bonnie wouldn't be too out of place in Bullworth. (Spoilers he was kinda right)
He needed a place to stay, obvious answer was the boys dorm but he's a little bit of a clean freak and what he's seen from the Résumé he is not taking chances and begged his father to put him somewhere but there.
His family is very well off but not ultra rich as the preps are, still more money than the average bullworth student that's not a prep will never see. His father and Dr. Crabblesnitch had a bit of back and fourth but finally settled if they can convince Harrington estate to house him til his program ends.
Somehow they accepted him even though half of the house didn't want some outside commoner to invade their private abode but somehow he got in and now they have to reluctantly provide for the boy.
The moment he got into the school he wasn't fazed some students were trying to kill him, being the cheery freak he is nothing got passed him even when the Bullies were throwing slurs his way. Ngl it creeped some of them out he was so...resilient and odd even for Bullworth standards.
The Prefects were giving him a strong talk down over him not following dress-code, Ms. Denvers the most giving him the nastiest talk that he'll get in trouble if he keeps this up. They gave up after a few hours of not a single change of shame in Bonnie's giant brown eyes. (Dr. Crabblesnitch was letting it happen anyway cuz Bon's father paid double that his son is as comfortable as he can be.)
Bio class isn't his forte as he was a bit squeamish over anything once alive. Everything else he's okay with it.
Small stuff about his thing with some of cliques
Preps: Tad Spencer became his closest prep friend as this not-so-commoner commoner intrigued him. He mostly was amused to watch what antics Bonnie pulled out and pretty much just treated him as his window into the middleclass.
The other house members didn't care as much and mostly ignored him except Pinky who saw him as a new pet to the house, he reminded her of the little porcelain doll her mom bought her once during Christmas.
Pinky treated him just like a doll and put him in her old clothes or gave him all of her outdated accessories as "They were so 5 hours ago".
Spent most of his time in the Harrington House Botanical garden outside despite the rest of the preppies insulting him over becoming a second gardener if he keeps this up, he still sat behind the giant hydrangea's doing his homework besides the bugs.
Greasers: They're mostly hostile to any preppies but today they decided to ignore the new kid that isn't even heavily associated and is just being housed by these snobs.
Lola can't put the charms on him, noticing he's very not interested in girls. She is interested in what lip gloss shade he's using though.
Overall the same sentiment as the other students, a little odd but he's harmless.
Nerds: Oh no, they don't know what's coming especially when the new odd little guy does seem like a nerd like them.
Immediately accept him into their circle for games and nerd stuff, Bon is pretty good to all of them but he's got his eyes set on their nerd leader.
Earnest doesn't even noticed Bonnie's making everything in his power to get the nerd to noticed he wants him. Took the idiot two weeks realized someone actually digs him.
The ongoing game of "will Earnest fumbled this badly?" has now commence. (Okay I'm tired that's enough writing for my small brain can handle)
Bonus fun fact: in game he has his own visual glitch: the lace tassels in his winter outfit are an entirely separate texture but was coded poorly so he shows up in winter without them, making it a 10+ mystery until modders coded it back in.

If Jor-El was always there with the milk

TW: description of a torture method
Everybody knows the story of how Superman crashed to earth after the destruction of his home planet, but not everyone knows of his father who arrived with him.
Jor-El, who had somehow gotten his clothes hooked onto some part of the capsule his baby was in when they fired it, was honestly surprised he survived the deep space for so long without losing his son's capsule, although weakened somewhat. It seemed that they crashed on a lesser developed planet, as the beings here were still living in small structures built of basic natural materials. With his son, Jor-El knocked on the door of the nearest settlement for help.
Pa Kent was quite surprised, to put it lightly, when he answered the door to a strange man wearing clothes that seemed quite out of place and carrying a sort of carrier containing- is that a baby? And it turns out they were aliens, and none of them could understand the other, but he knew wasn't hallucinating when the man demonstrated boiling a pot of water with his lasers for eyes. But he was taught to do the right thing and trusts people (or aliens) until they give him a reason not to, so he let them stay. He told the neighbors they were distant relatives who were tired of city life, and because they coincidentally needed a helping hand on the farm. Within a short time, they'd learned the language, became quite a help with their speed and strength, and were delightful company. Although Pa Kent still worried his wife might gravitate towards this “Jor-El”, for he was far better looking, but semi-co-parenting the adorable baby was worth it.
Jor-El quite enjoyed this simple life, and the years passed quick. He had started courting both humans, though he could not gift them his wealth, he helped whenever he could. He learned earth customs, and apparently what he thought was courting wasn't how they did it, but oh well. He would still teach he son the ways of his roots, and keep the customs of suitors.
Clark grew up like any other boy, except for the time he almost burnt down the barn, froze the lake, drifted into the clouds as a baby… you get it. His biological father taught him to control these things so he could blow on his food without making an iced sundae out of his soup, but it was Ma and Pa Kent who helped him with his school work, tucked him in most nights, and read him stories of snow white and little red riding hood. Jor-El mostly taught him a Kryptonian curriculum, and was the only one he could really let loose playing catch with without the worry of accidentally hurting him. It was kinda like having divorced parents, if the divorced parents got along just fine and still lived together, and one of them built an extension to the house that tripled its size to do experiments in (scientist on any planet). Sometimes Clark would catch his Father staring at a sketch of a woman and look up into the stars, but it was a mutual agreement not to speak of her (after Clark grew out of his ‘why’ phase anyway).
Clark grew up, had his farewell, moved to Metropolis, you know the story. Sometimes Jor-El would visit him, check up on his Kryptonian, though Clark knew he could hear him just fine across the country. Clark eventually started dating Bruce Wayne after interviewing him. Then there was some confusing things where Bruce kissed Superman, (that's still him, but he didn't think Bruce was really smart enough to figure that out at the time,) then BATMAN of all people kissed him, and they had a good laugh about how Bruce thought they both knew each other's identities, and Clark was a mess of confusion during it all. But this isn't about superbat interactions in the wild, plenty of other fanfics for that, this is about Jor-El about to have way too many adopted orphaned grandkids. So then came the time for Bruce to meet Clark's parents.
Meeting the Kent's? They were charmed, happy that Clark found someone financially stable and made him happy. The regular human stuff. Mr.El on the other hand?
Jor-El looked down at the man in a suit standing in front of him. He had never really listened in on his son's personal life, as a respectful Kryptonian, but this one seemed a bit… dim. Famously a playboy bimbo, honestly. This was the guy Kal-El was into? Well if Kal thinks he can pass the test, then so be it.
Bruce looked up at the imposing figure in front of him, tall as a mountain, calm as a river, arms crossed with a glare that could shake a lesser man. Bruce was no lesser man, but with his Brucie act, Jor-El probably thinks that he was just too stupid to be intimidated.
“So, Jake, was it?”
“Jor, of the house of El.”
The alien's glare deepened, while Bruce rivaled him with a smile.
“Potato patata, pleased to meet you sir.”
“Oh no, the pleasure is all mine.”
“Sarcasm, glad to see our species aren't so different.”
“You will need to complete the courting ritual to have my son.”
“I was thinking of breaking the ice a little, but straight to the point, a very efficient man I see. Could I interest you with a job at Wayne Enterprises?”
Jor-El ignored the job offer and switched to Kryptonian, which Clark sighed and translated, although Bruce had already learned the language and had surgery to implant an invention of his in his vocal cords to physically be able to pronounce the words that would be impossible for a normal human.
“He says the suitor may pick any activity as long as the rules are fair. If they fail to win, the parent can,— dad, I'm not translating that.”
Bruce understood it of course, giving a thoughtful “Hn.” in response. These Kryptonian rituals were certainly high stakes, and he certainly doesn't look forward to being strung up with barbed wire and left to marinate in a gas chamber for however long it would take for Clark to break through a bulletproof window with blue kryptonite strapped to his back. A Kryptonian might survive that, but certainly not mortal Bruce Wayne without his batsuit.
He knows what he has to do.
“What do you know, a royal flush!”
Batman can see Jor-El seething in the corner as this ditzy little human took the last of Clark's poker chips, an utter and undeniable victory. Bruce flashes the Man of Titanium- his new nickname- a signature Brucie smile, watching with glee as big, bright, and angry gave him a look that almost rivaled his batglare.
“...Did you just win Clark in a game of poker?”
“I also won an apple pie. The infamous Kent pie, try not to get too jealous when I take both of my hot, steamy, homegrown prizes home.”
Clark buries his head in his hands, but Bruce can feel his smile and the heat radiating off of him.
“Øh, åñd ßy thê wãy, try çœlîñg dòwñ ā bìt wíll yā? Rèd īßñ’t rælly yøúr çōlòr. Î prëfér Kål ïñ ìt mœrè.”
Bruce smirked at the brief flash of surprise on the older Kryptonian’s face at the use of his planet’s language, pulling Clark with his apple pie out the door before he can respond.
Ma Kent is cackling in the background :)

How has your experience been going to a college specifically for disabled people? And were you in special ed in school?
I was in special ed in school because of my CP and autism and I didn’t enjoy it at all. Is the college experience different?
Hello! Good question.
My experience for going to a college for the disabled has been…bleh. I like my college. It’s great! But I only like the curriculum and the teachers.
My school was originally aimed towards those that were physically disabled. Slowly it turned to cognitive and developmental disabled. Now, there are only a handful of physically disabled people, and it’s all developmentally disabled people. Which isn’t bad! Just putting in perspective.
A lot of my peers in the school, are pretty “normal”. A lot of them have “minimum” disabilities. (This isn’t invalidating their disabilities, this is just saying that their disabilities don’t really affect them academically or in everyday life. They can pass as neurotypical.) So when I came, I thought I’d be surrounded by people who understood and cared. It quickly came up that this was NOT the case.
My peers have no idea how to deal with me. And although they talk to me, I’m not “normal” enough to get past the small talk phase and move onto the friend phase. And I don’t understand it. I’m a good student. I passed this term with all As, and yet people still underestimate me and act like I’m not capable even though I’m top of my class.
It’s very disheartening, but sadly my reality.
I was not in special education during high school, I was homeschooled basically all my life.
It is different here because we have more freedoms, but again, there’s no guarantee that you’ll make friends, or be understood even by people like you.

TRAFFIC LIGHT TRIO X READER STUDY DATE HEADCANONS [seperate + all together!]
Content: reader is gender neutral, could be interpreted as either romantic or platonic
Headcanons under the cut!
RED SON:
☆ tries his best to keep you actually focused on the task at hand- doesn't let you goof off, but will allow consistent breaks
☆ but alas, once you've asked him a single question he'll derail the conversation twenty times over until he's completely off-topic and explaining something not even in your curriculum
☆ not that you mind- it's nice seeing him get passionate over topics he's into
☆ he tends to get absorbed into whatever he's working on, so study dates are a good way to get him to eat and drink water regularly alongside you
☆ I headcanon him as autistic, so parallel play is one of his favorite things! Enjoys being in your company while you each do your own seperate thing
☆ gets very easily frustrated if you're studying something not in his field of expertise [think molecular biology, literature, world geography] and you ask for his help only for him to not understand the question
☆ now it's your turn to try and keep him focused instead of going on a long-winded rant about how he's very smart and knowledgeable and this book is actually stupid and also he's-
MEI:
☆ you get a surprising amount of work done when you're with her!
☆ Mei's pretty good at balancing work and fun- she knows when to leave you be so you can focus on your studies, and when to strike up a conversation so you don't get too bored or stressed out
☆ she has a study date playlist specifically for the both of you that she updates frequently- she tries to keep her rock/metal songs out of it so it doesn't startle you and break your attention
☆ she's very horrible at explaining things- you ask her to help you with a question and although she understands the concept, she uses such convoluted metaphors and analogies that leave you more confused than before
☆ she likes holding your hand or sitting in your lap while you both work- just touching you in some way
☆ comes up with funny abbreviations for things you have to memorise
☆ gives you little pecks/kisses every once in a while, and near the end of your date when you're both burnt out, she'll give you a sleepy cuddle session while flipping through your flash cards
MK:
☆ oh boy
☆ where do I even start
☆ half of it is spent trying to wrangle MK into his desk, and the other half is spent trying to get him to open his books
☆ has a surprising amount of niche hyper-specific knowledge about various subjects, but if you ask him about the basics his mind'll blank
☆ tries his best to make the environment as comfortable for you as possible- utensils all set, cushions for your back, snacks and drinks on the table, reminders to stretch so your back doesn't hurt
☆ playing loud music tends to help him settle down and get some work done- you have to be holding his hand so he doesn't fidget around, though
☆ doodles on your notebooks/sticky-notes, usually small sketches of you or of himself giving you a thumbs up, flowers, hearts, little messages about how you're doing super well and you're super smart. It's really endearing and helps keep your morale up
☆ his attention span is very very low [I headcanon him as having ADHD], so he has to take multiple breaks in between. If you're still working while his mind is un-focused he'll braid your hair to keep his hands busy
RED SON + MEI + MK:
☆ yeah, you're not getting anything done today
☆ Mei and Mk together are a force to be reckoned with- and Red Son only adds fuel to the fire
☆ Mei and Mk'll make stupid jokes, Red Son'll tell them to shut up so he can focus, they'll make fun of him, he'll reply with a defensive and louder insult, and the cycle repeats
☆ if you ask a question, everyone'll be fighting to try and take a look at your book and help
☆ cue ensuing argument that lasts well into 20 minutes because all of them have a different answer
☆ upon googling it, you tell them that they're all wrong, actually
☆ even though you end up not doing anything, it's still a lot of fun- they're moreso just normal hangouts with the false advertisement of being productive
☆ the only time you get any work done with them is if it's the night before finals and you have to cram- the stress radiating off of you keeps their mouths shut

Like they would never actually want to because they're happy with just themselves and Lan Zhan still sees himself as a Lan but maybe in the au i made where Lan Zhan wrote history books on Wei Ying (here), word gets passed around really quick that demonic cultivation isn't dangerous or corrupting. It's literally just a an alternative cultivation method. Of course you need to be careful with it because every cultivation method has its limits and can cause harm (side eyes the Nie clan and the fact that they literally use resentful energy to cultivate their sabers to sometimes disastrous results)
But the best part is that Wei Yings cultivation method is perfect for people who have weak cores or simply struggle to cultivate in the classical method. And because of this they can be ostracized, belittled and in worse case scenarios just kicked out of their clan for being 'useless'. So people suddenly start showing up asking Wei ying to teach them and he's like, "I'm not real a teacher but you can tag along if you want", and they do and yeah, Wei Ying is very much a really good teacher and people would spend weeks with them learning with the only rule being that as soon as they all get back from a night hunt they are NOT to be bothered. The only time they stop is when wangxian goes back to Gusu for the winter.
But as months turn into years more and more people show up to learn under Wei Ying so some of the first students basically open up a school where they can teach other and occasionally have Master Wei come over to teach a few classes but there will always be a small crowd of disciples following wangxian around. And at some point wangxian shows up to the school for his annual semester of teaching that he promised and there's a plaque above the doorway that says "The Wei Clan for Demonic cultivation" and Wei Ying thinks it's the funniest shit.
But it all seriousness there is a legit need for this school because of the type of students that they collect and what started off as something small turned into a full-blown administration that create an actual curriculum with classes that cover most basics so when Wei Ying comes over to teach they can go straight to the advance stuff. The members/students do research and store copies of their findings at the school and there's so much of it that they even have their own forbidden library that is very well guarded.
Some of the students become nomads after they leave but most stay and the administration forms a system where they can send their disciples to certain areas that might need their help the same way Lan Zhan does with the juniors. They have dorms, cafeteria, recreational spaces. A huge open space a little far off from the school that's used to test with whatever experiment they've cooked up but of course you can only do it under supervision of a senior. Especially since a lot of juniors range between 8-16 because they were sent to the school to be taught because they'd been turned away from everywhere else
Basically wangxian indirectly brought Xiao Xingchen and Song Lans dream to life about starting a clan that had nothing to do with prestige or blood. Just anyone who wants to learn or join a community.
Of course they have rules. Very important rules, especially pertaining to rogue users who use what they've learned to harm others but they're rare because everyone who's part of the clan just really love being a part of it. Most of them are basically outsiders who were never given the chance due to a weakness that wasn't their fault. The Wei Clan and school is their home. Of course some go back to their parents and relatives who still love them once in a while for a visit and because of that those clan members have basically designated certain places that are under their protection. They're not shooing other clans away but these small areas are always safe from any trouble.
And because there are risks in practicing demonic cultivation, just like any other cultivation (sides eye the Nie clan), the members and administration are also really serious about preventing that from ever happening. They always look for signs like the person becoming more isolated, sometimes violent. They're super strict about stopping rogue practitioners that are using what they've learned to hurt others.
And as years pass the Wei Clan becomes super prestigious and well respected by the majority of other clans. Lan Zhan also has classes where he teaches the students Lan techniques. He's not adamant about keeping the Lan techniques a secret so he teaches them the basics they can use to strengthen what they've learned. True to his heritage he does accidentally bring some Lan rules in his reprimands and some of it become part of the rules and guidelines of the Wei Clan
Even better, Wen Ning also occasionally teaches a few classes of his own. Some about the Wen Techniques. Some about his sisters knowledge on medicine. He doesn't practice it but he knows enough by memory that he could recall almost everything his sister had shared when he was alive.
So the whole curriculum is very much an amalgamation and a mix of techniques from a variety of different sources so but there's no strict hard and fast rule that you have to master all of them. You learn what works for you and you hone it to perfection.
And because there's no emphasis on blood, name or prestige, the Wei Clan actually lasts way longer than the other clans because they're always open to any outsiders who want to join.

I was wondering... what are the clases exactly? What do they learn in it? So here are my guess:
In the « normal » class (music, math, art….) the exercices listed here would be in addition of the « normal » exercices. Also I give a list of 10 potential exercices per class, but you can imagine others

Into real life (3)
Back in school things seemed to take on their normal routine.

I was back in class, had to work hard on the new subjects, that had been added to my curriculum by the Army Cadet program, I got some extra tutorials (and extra homework for that, had to basically do two years of Chinese, chemistry and physics in one year), but it was nice to be there, see my mates, hang out in the corridors.


But that was about the extent of my 'freedom'. Every other minute of my life was now controlled, scheduled, regulated.

I was no longer in school cadets, as I was ‘transferred’ to an Army Cadet squad, which had a fine reputation on performing display drills, and had also competed in regional and national finals.

By and large I spent every afternoon and early evening in the Army barracks. M&H training on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, drill on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. On Saturday mornings I was going to have to drill my own platoon of 10-12 year olds, but that took a bit of time to get organised.
On Saturday afternoons I had to be available for Mess service, if there was an event in the officers’ club, or something, and I was also expected to serve there if there was a dinner.
Out of respect for my Dad my officer kept my Sundays free, to spend time at home, but I could be called up for ‘exceptional duties’, mostly to serve as a waiter during a lunch or stand as ‘honour guard’ during chapel services in a small group of cadets. We had to march in with regimental banners and stand to attention during the entire service.

Most Sundays I had quality time with Dad, but he was often busy, and I usually had a lot of homework or punishment work to get through. I had to do a lot of housework too, now that I had offered myself up to do all of Dad’s laundry too.
A real practical challenge was changing uniforms all the time. I mentioned before that I had to be in uniform always, except when asleep, in the shower or during school PE.
It took a lot of laundry, ironing and preparation to always have everything in perfect order.


I wore my school uniform five days a week, white shirt, blue and white striped tie, grey shorts, black shoes.

For M&H training I had to be in my ‘whites’, my school cadet uniform, white shirt, red and black striped tie, and all that; when we had lessons in dinner and lunch service I had to remember bringing my white gloves. Army Cadet drill was in green shirts, the uniform I wore during Elite Camp. All shirts had to be clean, fresh, perfectly ironed. I tried to cut corners once or twice, putting on a shirt that I'd worn the day before, and was that always found out.
At home I was to present myself for inspection every morning including weekends, but on weekdays I had to change to school uniform directly after that. If the inspection took a bit longer, or things were deemed insufficient, I could be ordered to change my entire uniform on the spot, and that meant I could run late for school.
When I got home after M&H I could stay in whites, after Drill I had to change into them, as it was designated as my default uniform for at home.

Sometimes this was only for a really short period, like when I got home at 8.50 and had to be in bed by 9.30 – I still had to get changed and make sure everything was perfect, because apart from the morning inspections I was prone to random visits by the inspectors, and they sometimes came at 9PM.
It was a lot to manage, but with the help of the inspections and regular punishments, I did OK. There was just no way I could escape it. It's quite amazing what a 15-year old can do if he sets his mind to it....

So I like thinking about franchises that disappointed me in some way
and after watching too many reviews I redesigned the High guardian spice characters (and thought of how the plot could work way too much)
Rose in this version isn't a complete idiot, and may not be so book smart, but she is very good in combat because she's kind of a fangirl. Like, "she studies attacks and can probably name pretty much every guardian" fangirling. While she is still kind of a dumbass, she's the one that always brings Sage down to earth whenever she gets too stressed. Although she is mostly the source of that stress. Her mom was taken by the rot, but she isn't really sure what it is, so when Thyme mentions it devastating her home she's like "!" so they can actually have something that might bring them together. She decides to take on forging and weapon enchantments so she can have a moment where she steps out of her mom's shadow to do her own thing teehee Sage here is still kind of an ass (her sexist discourse to snap was NOT a Girlboss Moment) but here I think it would be interesting if it was something that other characters think its weird too. Like its a belief ingrained into her together with the more traditional upbringing by her family (thus her only knowing old magic) so it can be part of her character development learning how those thoughts should be changed and that not everyone thinks like that, But she still tries her best to be respectful and kind. (also, her parents sent her to the academy because new magic is VERY new, so the fact that it was being implemented in the curriculum was not widespread, specially in a small town like where she was raised in.) she's an overthinker to the core, so sometimes she needs her friends to calm her down, although sometimes that anxiety is what prepares them for something they weren't even expecting.
Parsley is honestly well written enough in the original show, so the only things I would change is that the progress with the conflict with her parents is stretched a little through episodes, and the conflict is that while her parents want her to be a blacksmith and take on the family business (and help take care of her three thousand simblings) she wishes to go out and do something for herself as a warrior, because she wanting to go to school to become a blacksmith and her parents fighting her on it because they want her to become a blacksmith is kinda dumb. also her short ass hammer feels so weird to watch in the series, so I think that a longer handle would make it a little better. also tiny irony of her weapon being taller than her. Thyme feels like she should be written better because shes the only one that actually has any correlation to the plot, but she kind of... isn't?? I like her backstory of being ran out of the woods she lived in because the rot was devastating it and her dad staying behind to try to solve it, but I think it would be more dramatic if her dad was killed in the conflict but she doesn't know so dramatic moment when she finds something that belonged to him (maybe a little charm she made? for protection? in the way children do that stuff for their parents) and she connects the dots. Also the rot here is because the overuse of the power new magic is able to draw out without the control of old magic is taking too much energy from the earth, and woodsy areas thrive on it, thus the root like structures of the rot. The trees are basically oysters for the magic energy of the world. When its bad, they turn bad too. Also make her more of a "expresses affection through favors and actions, not words" person. She, Rose and Sage took wayy too long to become friends. Amaryllis stays the same because she is perfect and I love her and if you disagree to talk to the wall I personally think Snapdragon is good too but I would make him genderfluid instead. I think that the idea of Caraway THINKING he might be a trans girl but that ending up not the correct answer would reinforce his "there's always more options than you think" speech. And someone needs to point out how he's drawn to women that scream at him. Also we need a better arc with his dad instead of the raw carrot that was the canonical "his dad reinforces toxic masculinity hurr durr" thing we got (that wasn't even well made btw) NOW TO THE SIDIES
Slime boy is now named Slime boy because of an accident he had in potions class the previous year (he's one year older than the main cast) which caused him to continuously produce a slime like substance instead of stuff like spit and sweat. It doesn't inconvenience him a lot other than him making bubbles when he speaks every now and then. He's just an assistant in the terrasphere shop, and the owners are Alloe and Anise (wow they actually do something else in the story!!) but he's mainly just a more experienced student that sometimes knows things the main cast doesn't like secret entrances and cool rooms and stuff. He's a full on bard because that was barely explored in canon and music based attacks are cool. He has the tiniest little crush on parnelle cuz I thought that would be fun Parnelle is ENBY because I SAID SO (and cuz cal is stablished as transphobic and I like payoffs) and since whatever they're doing at the academy is never really clarified, I made them kind of an animal whisperer, like they call on animals to assist them in battle and other stuff. (Maybe then we actually get to see the trixies again after their prolongued mating dance that lead to literally nothing in episode 1) being an animal whisperer is a very rare "old magic" hability thus why they entered the academy one year earlier than expected. They sew their own clothes and are still the generally weird little guy they are in canon, except this time its explained as them preferring to communicate with animals ever since they were a child. They are still very polite and friendly tho, always happy to help. Cal is (his full name is calamagrostis and like if I was named that I'd be an asshole too) still parnelle's cousin, but he doesn't outright bullies them. in fact, he isn't an outright bully, he just tends to look down on other people that don't follow what he believes in, which is a more traditional view on the world, kind of like sage, so I thought of him maybe being a catalyst to her being like "wow I can see why my way of thinking may be bad now, I don't want to be like him" which pushes her to grow and stuff. And I want him to grow as well, so I thought, maybe he and Snapdragon used to be friends, but recently they drifted apart and he started to kind of resent him after he came out as genderfluid, but deep down he still misses his friend, so maybe that pushes his character development. And other people saying that hes kind of a prick. idk I just really hate the trope of a bully character just being there to be the mc's punching bag instead of getting development.
In general, the lore would be (I think, I'm not the best at lore) that Guardians are generally like soldiers, but in a more captain america type of way. they're more like beacons of hope and symbols or power and peace than soldiers are, (thus rosemary knowing a bunch of them as they're usually famous) but they are still required to know combat. High Guardian Academy is known as a guarantee to become a good soldier, and a high chance to become a guardian. They VERY recently implemented new magic in the curriculum, but are experimenting with mixing its high power output with old magic's control of it, (thus why caraway knows how but why none of the students are being thaught it. It's a fairly new tecnique they'd rather get a good grasp on before teaching a bunch of children how to use it) because since they're expertly trained guardians they can tell that a terrasphere takes too much energy above what would be considered okay. They just aren't aware of how much tho, the extent of the rot is a secret held close to their chests by witch country, which is where the terraspheres come from, which has brought them tons of profit and advancements. So when someone knows about the extent, or tries to stop it, they are eliminated, (thus why thyme's dad died. People that stayed in the fairy woods and knew how bad new magic could be were all "silenced" so they could keep profiting out of it.) (Any letters or research about the rot, or from the people that knew, were burned and interfered with, thats why no one else knew about it.) idk what else to talk about cuz this show had such little things to explore but there's so much filler that almost none of it got explored but I think it had potential, even if I prefer to focus on character interactions and how they change eachother. Again, I'm not very good with lore. and plot.

Ayn
The sound of your gentle footsteps echoed throughout the empty hall. It was after school hours and not many students populated the building, it was fairly quiet aside from the faint sound of the piano coming from one of the rooms
A smile slowly grew on your face as you skipped your way over to the music room. The two burly looking bodyguards in front of the door only casted you a glance before nodding, stepping aside and allowing you in.
You poked your head in, carefully stepping into the room and closing the door behind you so as to not disturb the black haired man sitting at the piano. Ayn did not seem to notice your arrival, his eyes trained on the music sheet in front of him as his fingers glide across the keys as the piece he was playing leads into a crescendo. Instantly, you recognised this piece, it was Clair De Lune. You smiled slightly, enjoying the music. It was almost as if time had stopped and it was just you and him. Perhaps this was the effect that Ayn has on people while he was playing. It transports you to a whole new reality where you experience all the various emotions in each piece he plays, forgetting all of your troubles from your daily lives.
You didn’t notice that he has reached the end of the piece and had his gaze on you. “Are you going to just stand there or are you going to sit?” He asked, his choice of words might sound a little harsh but his tone sounds otherwise, despite the fact that he said it in a rather blunt manner. “Come here, sit next to me.” Your eyes lit up at his invitation, quickly taking a seat next to him, grinning. He chuckles softly at your excitement, “just remember to stay quiet and listen to the music.” And once again he begins to play.
After an hour, Ayn looks over to you, not seeming to mind the way that you had used his shoulder as support while you napped. Somehow in between you had fell asleep, most likely due to how stressful school has been recently. He stays quiet for a few moments, taking in your beauty, noting the small puffs of air you let out at every breath, the way your eyebrows would scrunch slightly every now and then in your sleep. He couldn’t help but think, you are truly adorable, never did he expect that someone as lively as you would manage to matter so much for him. Neither did anyone would have expected that someone like you managed to melt his heart. Perhaps he should confess to you on another day, however just for now, he wishes to stay like this with you, in this rare moment of peace you both have amidst your busy schedules.
Ayn holds your hand in his while the other moves to brush a lock of hair away from your face, his fingers lingering on your cheek as he smiles fondly at you; a rare sight to be seen. “Sleep well, y/n”

Clarence
“Please please please! I will treat you to a meal if you agree!” You were currently on your knees in front of the head prefect who only sighed, pushing up his glasses. How did you end up in this position you might ask? Well, the school curriculum required you to take a general studies module from a school speciality outside of yours, meaning you could not choose to study art and had to choose something else that the school offers. You ended up choosing one of the law-based subjects, thinking it would be fun but unfortunately that was not the case. There was so much memory work to do and cases to study! Unfortunately this module is not graded based on multiple choice questions and you were required to write a report about your analysis on a case given… basically, you are struggling.
“Y/n… get up, you don’t have to go to such great lengths to ask for my assistance.” Clarence sighs, bending over to offer you a hand. You pout, gingerly taking his hand. “You sure?” He chuckles slightly, pulling you to your feet. “I would have agreed no matter what.” Your pout quickly turns into a large grin as you threw your arms around him, enveloping him into a hug which caught him by surprise, patting you on the back gently. “You’re the best Clarence!”
A few hours after, you both were over at your house as you groaned for the umpteenth time, slumping your head onto the table as your cat let out a small meow in concern as it circles around your feet. “It’s too hard!” You whined, making Clarence chuckle as he beckons for your cat to come over to him, which gladly obliges and leaps onto his lap, immediately making itself comfortable. “I know. You’re still learning, there’s no rush. It is actually quite simple once you get the hang of it.” He replies, trying to comfort you so you would not look so upset with yourself. “But-“ you were about to protest before he shook his head, cutting you off. “What about we take a break? Perhaps it could clear your mind a little.” He suggested, making you sigh once again and nod in agreement. Clarence gently sets your cat down before going into the kitchen, he then reappears with two glasses of iced lemonade in hand, handing one to you. “On a hot weather like this, I figured something cold would be able to motivate you.” He explained as you took the glass, sipping down the refreshing drink. The sweetness and sourness of the cold drink, made you sigh in satisfaction. You peeked over at Clarence, noticing that he was staring at you, quickly looking away when he realised he was caught red-handed, his cheeks heating up slightly, making you grin mischievously. “Is the head prefect getting flustered?” You teased him, giggling. He coughs, clearing his throat and shakes his head. “N-no i just-“ he stutters, trying to think of something to defend himself. “You’re cute when you’re like that.” You mused softly, your eyes analysing each facial feature of his, taking not of how his eyes would quickly avert away from you when he looks over to check if your attention was still on him.
“Y/n…” Clarence sighs, making you straighten your back and saluting him. “Sorry sir! I will continue doing my work, sir!” You giggles in between your words, and continues to read through the textbook, picking up from where you left off. He shakes his head at you, amused by your antics. “You truly are interesting.” He mumbles softly with a smile on his lips as he takes a sip from his lemonade

Compromise Arc 1, Chapter 9: Behind-the-Scenes Commentary
Continuing my commentary as I reread what I've published of Compromise!
Reminder: I will NOT include any spoilers for anything post-Chapter 9! Spoilers for anything from Chapters 1-9 are fair game, as is anything mentioned in other stories like Daemon's Handbook and The Golds.
Chapter Title is "Sisterhood." It starts off mostly referring to just Luce and Jace's relationship, but it expands to all of the girls at Dragonstone, particularly Luce and Baela at the end.
I glossed over Aemond's first dragon ride because it's basically the same as in show canon, and I didn't want to rehash it. To make up for it, I showed Luce's first dragon ride! At first I was going to make it her first time riding on Arrax ever, but I realized it would be unwise to let a child ride on a small dragon over the water ALONE for the first time. So instead I showed it as a gradual process, where Luce has been doing little spurts of flight with Arrax around the island, but now she's graduated to crossing the water to Driftmark.
“You don’t even use a harness half the time you fly on Caraxes!” To canon!Aemond's misfortune…
Daemon is a chaos gremlin, but he's really serious about dragons. He developed a whole curriculum for beginner dragonriders. He picked fourteen key dragon commands that he thinks all dragonriders should know by heart. 14 is a reference to the fourteen flames of Valyria.
"he gave her weird looks when he caught her making blankets and toys for Arrax." Well maybe Caraxes wishes you would give him blankets and toys, Daemon!!!
It's fun to explore the different relationships that each Targkid has with their dragon. Arrax is like Luce's pampered pet. Aegon and Sunfyre are bros. Vermax is Jace's prized show horse. Vhagar is (grand)Mother.
"Now that Rhaenyra was pregnant, there was no getting rid of Daemon." Luce and Daemon have reached the frenemy stage of their relationship lmao.
The silver and jade hairnet that Rhaenys gives to Luce is in Velaryon colors, of course.
Arrax is easily distracted (by gulls). Just like his rider! He also loves playing games (like slap-slap). Just like his rider!
Other than a few recognizable High Valyrian words, I generally don't translate the things that my characters say to their dragons to High Valyrian. Nobody, other than maybe a handful of people in the world who are reallyyyy into it, is fluent in High Valyrian IRL. I let it be implied that the Targs are speaking in HV to their dragons. Also, it's not an oversight that Luce speaks so intimately/casually to Arrax! I imagine her as having a really good eye and ear for spoken HV, even if she isn't great at the written part or sitting down to translate things for lessons.
Dreamfyre and Vermax are gossiping about Sunfyre. Dreamfyre: "He's been soooo moody, it's so annoying!" Vermax: "Oh noooo, is he really??? Tell me more!"
“He is loyal and protective. A good choice for a child’s firsts. I’m glad you have him now.” Helaena what do you meaaannnn? (I know what she means.)
Helaena is playing with a blue beetle, which she has named Aemond, because metaphors.
Luce asks why Aemond picked a sapphire, and Helaena responds by humming "Laenor's favorite sea shanty," which we know is Girl in Blue. HMMMMMMM.
“Not alone yet. I am chaperoning.” Helaena has a feeling she's going to be alone soon—which she will be, when Aegon and Aemond leave for the Stepstones.
The scene where Luce discovers Aegon and Jace getting ~cozy~ is possibly one of my favorite things I've ever written. Oh Luce, never change.
Aegon and the tadpole snark. He's not a zoologist, that's for sure. Luce, on the other hand, is very familiar with aquatic creatures.
“I’ll marry you as many times as you want. Just tell me when and where and how many goats to sacrifice.” This line shouldn't be as romantic as it feels to me!!! Aegon's making a joke about Valyrian blood rituals, why is it so romantic???
As you probably know if you're reading this, you can find the story of Aegon hiring the drunk septon in Smallfolk Tales!
Aegon is totally fine with roughing it on the beach. Aemond could never. (Well, he kinda does at the Stepstones. He hates it.)
Luce's favorite honey-nut pastry is supposed to be something like baklava. It takes a lot of prep work! Rhaenys knew Luce was coming and wanted to mark the occasion of her first big dragonflight.
There are hints that Rhaenys knows something about Aegon's presence. If she knows Aegon is there, why is she not doing anything about it? I don't want to delve too deeply into it, because I might write a little Rhaenys POV one day. But I will say that in this AU, Rhaenys is a staunch supporter of Jace, not necessarily Rhaenyra.
Rhaenys's S1 hair is something I giggle about a lot. It looks conical, almost like a hennin, in my opinion. So Luce makes a joke on my behalf about Rhaenys's hair: it's big because it's full of secrets!
Aegon just casually making sandcastle masterpieces after a nap. Truly the spirit of an artist.
Aemond the Beetle disappearing when Luce reaches for him. Is it a metaphor???? (Yes. Yes it is.)
Daemon used to be a soldier, so I don't imagine he's in the habit of accumulating clutter. That's why his room is so plain, other than the bookshelves.
Baela is the one who noticed Luce hiding under the bed. Baela herself is prone to occasionally hiding under beds, so she glanced down and noticed there was an intruder. Then she and Rhaena had a bit of twin telepathy, and they hung back while Daemon went down to the docks.
Baela and Rhaena's interrogation styles are similar to Daemon and Laena's, respectively. Baela/Daemon are more "force it out of them," Rhaena/Laena are more "I'll be the good cop to their bad cop so I can coax out the info I want."
“Show no mercy, take no prisoners." I wonder whom Baela learned that from??? What a mystery, we'll never know.
Joff is actually really excited to be asked for help. Nobody ever asks her for help because she's the baby.
Daemon would murder so many people if it meant getting his hands on the journey that maybe belongs to Visenya. Joff knows this, and she's never going to tell him she has it because it amuses her to keep it a secret from him. The book was hidden really well so the servants missed it while cleaning, but Joff is VERY methodical. Also she loves the idea of secret panels and doors, so she was intentionally searching for them.
Joff thinks she'll get to match with the new baby like all the other girls match with each other. Alas, Alyssa is going to match with Viserra instead. Joff will still be the odd one out.
The barley and wheat pee test was used in ancient Egypt (I think) to predict a baby's sex. I can't say if it actually works, but Joff thinks it does.
Joff is a little too eager to suggest making a blood oath lol.
I love how Luce and Joff have the same reaction to the news of the Jacegon planned elopement: "Of course that's what will happen! They're supposed to marry each other."
As mentioned in a previous commentary, Joff knows a surprising amount of information about other people because she listens and they don't pay attention to her.
“Kissing is gross, so you wouldn’t do it unless you really like the person you’re kissing.” Demisexual Joff makes an appearance!
It was a bit tricky writing Luce's reaction to Laenor being gay. In Westeros, homosexuality is something people don't talk about openly and generally not approved of. But Luce really loves Laenor, and she's young enough that she's still formulating a lot of her worldviews, so she can adapt to the idea that her father—whom she knows was not in a love match with her mother—might have been gay. Also, even though Luce tries to conform to societal norms as she gets older, she doesn't actually like a lot of those norms, so she's more willing to dismiss them.
I received an Ask once why Aegon goes to brothels when he loves Jace. I mean, he's a 14-year-old boy with a lot of privilege and not a lot of impulse control. He's prone to making poor decisions. He's also growing up in a society where it's expected of rich young men to sow their oats before settling down. Meanwhile, Jace is a very self-conscious 12-year-old girl who, like many young girls, is constantly second-guessing herself around the guy she likes. She doesn't want to risk losing Aegon's regard by haranguing him, even though we (and Luce) know that Aegon would do what she says if she asked.
"Rhaena was still unconvinced. Lucera tried a logical argument instead of an emotional one." A bit of evidence that Luce IS smart, even if she doesn't do well in the schoolroom! Also she has pretty good emotional intelligence and changes tactics when she realizes Plan A isn't working.
"I think Mother just doesn’t like Aegon because he’s the king’s firstborn son.” Rhaenyra has a few other reasons, but this is indeed part of why she doesn't like Aegon!
And as soon as Rhaena is convinced, she joins the little Jacegon fan club lol.
Historically, clothes and fashion were VERY important. They weren't frivolous. Clothes literally told you what somebody's position in society was. That's why there used to be sumptuary laws that prohibited people from dressing "above their class." Rhaena isn't being silly and girlish when she places so much importance in what Jace wears, even to a secret ceremony.
Luce is aware that the adults have favorites, but she's Corlys's favorite so she's OK with that. She was also Laenor's favorite when he was alive.
Rhaenyra still has a lot of unresolved trauma about Aemma's death, so she's made it her mission to ensure her daughters know what they're in for. Luce and the older girls are old enough for betrothals, so Rhaenyra let them in the room. Honestly though, Joff would probably have handled it better than Luce.
Luce put so much effort into her appearance for Aemond, and he isn't even at the elopement. :(
Joff is the youngest but she's making the big sacrifices! Ughh. Don't worry, Joff, you get to see the Even Goldener Wedding in a few years.

Aegon was there when Aemond had his big downward spiral because of Luce's "letter," so Aegon isn't happy when Luce asks about Aemond. Why didn't Aegon ask Jace about the letter during their secret meetings? Because they have to make the most of what limited time they have together, and Aegon doesn't want to waste it talking about the twat. :) Aegon doesn't have much reason to think there was something suspicious about the Letter, so he doesn't have much incentive to ask.
Aemond stays behind supposedly to act as a distraction, but part of him did chicken out at having to see Luce again. :(
"Lucera wasn’t sure why her mother was so surprised. Helaena was very nice and helpful." Here we have Luce's self-centered worldview. Helaena is nice and helpful to the Velargirls because they're close. Helaena isn't close to Rhaenyra at all, so Rhaenyra wasn't expecting Helaena to do her any favors.
Really, Helaena offers for Jace's sake because “Dragons have hot blood.” I don't think Helaena needs dragon dreams to expect that Jace, who is only 13 at this time, will almost certainly have a difficult pregnancy and childbirth if Aegon manages to consummate the marriage and impregnate her.
Joff is genuinely so happy for Jacegon~~~
Luce is so afraid of being rejected by Aemond that she doesn't try at all to communicate with or speak to him before the Stepstones. It's too bad that she didn't take to heart Rhaenyra's lesson about how it's better to try something and regret it than to not try at all.
If one good thing came out of Luce's fight with Aemond, she learned not to hold grudges against Baela forever.
"It was just a dream, though. And she was old enough to know better." And with that, we say goodbye to kid!Luce as we know her, because now she's forcing herself to grow up. :(
