I'm thinking abt that pretty fall leaves embroidery pattern post and about how like... it is categorically a repost, it's a reupload. right? a thing that is generally disliked. but because it's credited, it's genuinely boosting the artist in question. and it could ALWAYS be like this. reposting content could ALWAYS be a symbiotic relationship, but because sourcing back to the original creator of something is so uncommon, it's just easier to ask people not to repost it at all. and people still don't understand the difference. or they'll go to the effort of cropping out usernames/signatures to repost something, which is More Effort than literally crediting the creator of something you liked enough to want to repost. Gaz: He’d honestly be so flattered you wanna use him as a practice model. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a very pretty man and he’s well aware of that fact, but he didn’t think he’d ever get that sort of privilege. The first time you measure him he’s a bit confused, but complies, asking you with a chuckle about what you’re doing. However, as soon as you present him with a jaw dropping suit that leaves every other one in the dust, he’s a big fan. While he may have supported you from the very beginning as soon as he heard that you’re a designer, his support skyrockets as soon as you present him with the first piece of clothing for him to wear. He feels so very fancy wearing it. He may be used to wearing fancy clothing from time to time when invited to certain occasions, such as weddings, but he never really paid much mind to that sort of thing. Once you’ve put the first article of clothing on him, he’ll ask you if you wanna use him as a practice model again at some point. Only if you feel like it, of course. He hopes you’ll say yes, he loves how creative you are and the things you create. You’re a lovely designer who puts their heart and soul into it all, and it shows. Although unprompted and despite it being a bit silly, he’ll also pose and do that one walk models do where they sway their hips. He feels pretty in your clothing. If he can afford it, which he likely can, then he’ll even buy some of the things you’ve made. And yes, he will 100% wear them as well, doesn’t matter if it’s a fish tail or if it’s a shirt with a dragon on it. He unironically loves it and will wear it whenever he can.

Valeria: She chuckles a bit when you ask her to put on some clothing you made. Valeria is a very attractive woman, and she knows it, so she’s not at all surprised when you ask her to put on a suit. She’s worn those before, and every time she has she was turning heads left and right. If you blush while seeing her in a suit then she’ll chuckle and trap you against the wall before letting you continue whatever it was you were doing. Like Gaz she wholeheartedly supports you, and she’ll own every single article of clothing you’ve ever created. While she may not have the time to wear them all every time, you will catch her wearing your creations from time to time, if there’s no danger of them tearing. Valeria’s glad that you trust her enough to want her to try on all your prototypes and will gladly pose like a professional model for you and you only. The first time you measure her she, too, would be a bit confused and would ask you regarding what you’re doing, but afterwards she’s more than happy to model for you whenever she can. She doesn’t have a whole lot of time for that, but the things you do for love. If you ever want a real, professional model, she can arrange one, though, it’s no problem for someone like her. Besides, she has a pretty good eye for fashion as well, so she can give you some hints regarding what could look good and what might be a complete no go. You don’t have to do as she says, but she will point it out if you do. If she ever does find herself having the time and there’s a fashion show that shows some of your clothing, then she’ll watch it and jokingly tell you that she looked better in your clothes than all those models did. If you ever need some creative inspiration then I’m sure Valeria can help you as well, she’s seen plenty of things and is always more than happy to help you. Besides, she can get just about anything as well, so you really don’t need to fret if you wanna feel the fabric of something yourself.

i think i’ve learned a lot when it comes to not applying my own values to the media i consume

for my script analysis class yesterday, we discussed two gentleman from verona, and nearly every classmate of mine was up in arms about how sexist the story is.

and i'm not saying it's not, or that it's not infuriating to read. but i'm also not putting my energy into getting upset about something written 500 or so years ago. and i'm not about to put my own beliefs onto these characters that are not me. i'm going to let their choices speak for themselves, and interpret it in the context of the story.

all that said, this now brings me to the point of alastor in episode 5, and how viscerally people are responding to it. those of you up in arms about the choices he’s making, and the violent threat he gave husk, you’re missing the entire point of his character, of this place they’re in, of the story being told. he’s an overlord, and he became an overlord by killing much bigger overlords and broadcasting their deaths over the radio.

HE IS NOT A GOOD PERSON.

if you started this show with the belief that every character working the hotel is a good person, you’re in the wrong place. watch the good place if you’re looking for a good wholesome story about getting dead sinners into heaven, because that’s not what this show is about.

you’re more than welcome to hate him after seeing the way he exerted power over a being whose soul he owns, but you’re doing the media you’re watching a disservice by writing it off so quickly. if you don’t like to be uncomfortable watching media, watch something else. this is an uncomfortable show, it handles uncomfortable topics, and it’s going to be an uncomfortable ride, and if you’re not up for something like that, then you should take a break from it and pick up something else. you don’t have to get online and defend your own ideals while you watch a show that goes against your ideals.

Human food only feeds half of him [.5x stat gain from food + need for ectoplasm]

Has obsessions to fulfill [increased attack/defense when allies are nearby, decreased stats when no allies, loses sanity/other consequence if allies die]

Has a deadly weakness to electricity [increased damage+sanity loss from lightning, electric damage] ...also damaged by proximity to evil flowers, but this will apply to ALL ghosts, not just danny

ABILITIES:

Transforms into his ghost half by alt-clicking himself.

can fly over/walk through obstacles (ignores collision)

increased damage/defense & increased hunger drain, constant sanity drain

ghost-like sanity drain aura (applies to nearby players except Wendy)

is a "monster" (attacked by pigmen, bunnymen, catcoons, etc)

takes more damage from electricity + evil flowers than his human form. (maybe also increased damage from magic/shadows/planar attacks?)

Cannot talk in ghost form. Uses incomprehensible language instead (either "OooOOOoo" like DST ghosts or made up ghostspeak)

Can shoot ectoblasts by alt-clicking enemies. Costs hunger per use. Usable in both forms, but deals more damage in ghost form.

maybe has a small chance to freeze enemies, with increased chance in winter?

If Danny dies, he leaves his human corpse behind (instead of a skeleton) and is stuck in ghost mode.

Permanently insane, -90% max HP. Corpse needs to be revived with a telltale heart [or some other item] (revives with no health penalty).

If killed again, corpse is replaced with a skeleton and danny becomes a "normal" DST ghost. When reviving using vanilla methods, has a bigger health penalty + sanity loss.

ITEMS/MOBS:

ECTOPLASM. Periodically spawned by ghosts & pipspooks. Chance drop on a ghost's death.

Danny needs to eat ectoplasm regularly or he gradually gets weaker [or some other consequence here].

Can be given to ghosts to make them temporary allies [Danny only]

DOG TOY. Temporarily spawns CUJO.

limited "loyalty" (spawn time) but can be fed ectoplasm to keep him around longer

immortal/can't be killed, loses loyalty instead

"gets big" whenever danny is attacked. will attack all nearby mobs (even if not aggressive) for a certain amount of time before shrinking again

BLOB GHOSTS. passive mob/won't attack.

either spawn near headstones or around ectoplasm left on the ground

“prey” animals like rabbits (will run away from scary creatures & players, excluding danny/other ghosts)

automatically start following danny whenever he's near + grant him small sanity gain

will periodically spawn ectoplasm on the ground (higher rate than regular ghosts) OR passively restore danny’s ectoplasm meter based on proximity

ectoplasm is guaranteed drop on death (but why would you kill them you monster 🙁🙁🙁🙁)

other potential items/perks:

ectoplasm tracker- points towards ectoplasm/ectoplasm sources on the map. or maybe cujo can track it instead?

fenton thermos- holds ectoplasm and/or ghosts in storage slots? 

Other things I'm less certain on:

if ghost form has higher hunger drain, should it also drain the ectoplasm meter faster?

want something to imply that ghosts are emotional creatures/danny's strength is tied to his emotions somehow, but "growing weaker/stronger at low sanity" is an overused perk. maybe he takes increased damage at low sanity?

maybe some other protection based perks idk

maybe his human form should be weaker than average, to encourage gathering/etc in human form, and combat in ghost form?
