I hate how everyone shits on soft! Remus Lupin like as if canonical he isn’t the biggest sweetheart ever.

This TikTok post from @theonottineedusobad made me so happy and sad bc Remus is just so good™️ and I think the fandom forgets this for the new bad boy version of Remus that to me seems so forced and off putting

Let Remus be soft again!!! Let him wear his jumpers and read his books without smoking weed or stealing. Let him play pranks without being cold, let him be nice and gentle and sensible while also being a smart and mischievous teenage boy. 

Let Remus be the glue of the marauders!! Not James or Sirius, REMUS!! Bc he literally is! Explore why James and Sirius, who probably were more rude and pretentious when they were younger, admired him so much that they broke the law for him. Explore the dynamics of the 4 boys as a group not just as best friend duo james and Sirius with a side of wolfstar relationship and a forgotten Peter.

As much as wolfstar shaped the fandom I really wish we could get a canon accurate marauders fic to see more of the friendships.

Remus grinned as he walked through the door with Lily, the sound of Sirius and Harry's greetings making him chuckle.

But his chuckles quickly turned into an all-out fit of laughter when he got to the kitchen to take in the scene before him:

Harry and Sirius were at the table, which was covered with old issues of The Daily Prophet and had paints and brushes scattered across it. However, Sirius's admittedly-mature effort at keeping things clean must have gone horribly awry at some point, because both boys were covered in paints of every color, and there were smears of paint on the floor, counter, chairs, and- ceiling? How they managed that, Remus didn't want to know.

Luckily, Lily seemed to take it all in stride, because she walked in behind Remus and said, "Wow, you two! You've had some fun today, huh?"

Harry let out a squeal of approval and threw a paintbrush across the room.

"Harry painted you and Prongs!" Sirius declared proudly, gesturing to a painting that consisted entirely of lines and blotches. ("Maaaa Daaaa!")

"Well, he's certainly got abstract painting under control," Lily remarked with a grin, plucking Harry up from his infant chair. "Let's get you cleaned up, shall we?"

She disappeared up the stairs with a babbling Harry.

"Harry's going to be sad when Prongs gets back from his trip and you don't have to watch him every day anymore," Remus remarked lightly, grinning at Sirius, who was picking paint out of his hair.

But Sirius just laughed and gestured to another painting. "I made something for you. Could be worth millions someday," he said with a wink.

Remus looked at the paper. It was...unsophisticated. Two stick figures, one taller than the other. The shorter one had black hair and the taller one wore what could only be described as a ridiculous sweater with polka dots that Remus suspected were finger-painted on.

They were holding hands.

"It's us," Sirius shrugged, smiling softly.

Remus tried not to get too emotional over a silly little painting, but something about it tugged at his heartstrings. He swallowed the lump in his throat and laughed lightly. "You clearly have a gift, Pads."

"Wanker."

"I love you," Remus murmured, pulling Sirius into a hug.

"Love you more."

They hung the picture on their fridge when they got home.

There was something magical about that morning. The sky seemed more blue than ever, the trees were more green, and even the black lake was lighter. Maybe it was the sun, maybe their glasses had been cleaned in the night by their roommates, or maybe it was because today there was another date with Remus Lupin.

The taller boy had something in him that was just adorable and appealing. Sirius had his charms and charisma, but Lupin was dreamy. He was kind, intelligent, pretty and just the right amount of playful. That was for sure what made you invite him to a cup of hot chocolate in the kitchens after dinner, and then he invited you to a study date in library and then you invited him to go to hogsmeade and now there you guys were.

Both of you wanted to spend time together but had other responsibilities being O.W.L.S year and all, so he went to the kitchen and asked some house elves to prepare snacks so the both of you could eat together outside the castle near the black lake under a tree. You liked Remus, very much so, since second year when seemed normal to think boys were pretty and you decided bad boys weren't your type. With the years the both of you became acquaintances, and you made the first move just months ago!

Maybe it was too early to think about this already, but you hoped it would soon that Remus would ask you to be your boyfriend. But this thought was easily away when you opened you Potions book and found a note of the boy beside you asking to be your boyfriend.

You blushed and marked yes in the little box, turning to the boy kissing his cheek and leaving the little paper on his book, while turning back to your book.

"Thank you, love."

He said to you, and sounds unreal because Remus Luoin is thanking you for accepting but you felt thankful for him asking.

"Is no problem, pretty boy."

You leave another kiss in his cheek, seeing them blushing with the new nickname and deciding to be bold, you turn his face to you with your fingers under his chin and touch your lips in his, making the blush in his cheeks more apparent.

"You are blushing, pretty boy." You say while giggling. The giggle that makes him smile and go for another kiss.

Safe to say that after three small kisses, was hard to keep focus in the studies.
