Who doesn’t love to play a good board game? Games are great for building social communication skills, turn taking, and a great way to target language goals! Here are some tips for incorporating language during gameplay:

- Following Directions: Directions can be as simple as “Get the Adams apple.” or as difficult as “Before you get the wishbone, pick up the butterflies in the stomach.”

- Best games to target following directions: Operation, Candy Land, Connect 4

- Early Language Goals: There is so much to talk about during games! Narrate you and your child’s moves as you play. Being a great language model for your child is very beneficial for their language development.

- Best games to target early language goals: Don’t Break the Ice, Pop the Pig

- Question Formulation & Comprehension: Guessing games are a great way for kids to create and answer all different types of questions.

- Best games to target questions: Guess Who, Headbanz

If you found a lump or odd mole on your kid, you’d take them to the doc to rule out something worse. Do the same with developmental issues. The longer you wait, the worse things can become. So, don’t wait.

I just donated to Archive.org because they have spent the past two decades building this Digital Library that has collected over 100 PETRAbytes (1 petra = 1000 tera) of content from all over time and the world.

All kinds of media, even game emulators.

Books you can rent.

Full feature films.

Historical documents.

Webpages - The Wayback Machine, archiving over 860mill webpages across time, is part of the library.

The have a slew of projects designed to help allow libraries and everyday individuals contribute to this library as well as help give everyone access like Offline Archive , Bookserver - even in unique ways like with the Bookmobile!

They are also under attack though, which is what encouraged me to contribute today. Libraries across the US, and lets be real - access to education in many areas of the world - is under attack. I do suspect not just DDoS, not just businesses, but even governments seeking to oppress people will try to suppress this archive and the knowledge is holds.

While you can donate there are other ways to help:

Volunteering is an option, if that fits your bill. If you have collections that should be digitized, they have Scanning Services that would help people contribute non-digitized media to the archive. Also the aptly named Open Library is a great place to contribute either with books or if you are a programmer you can build on top of the data as well. There are also some jobs available! (i can't be sure without their info, but they may qualify as a PSLF employer since they are non-profit)

Archive.org is my new favorite place of all time. Both because of the content but also because of the mission at the heart of it all:

I’m a very casual generations fan so I don’t have any strong feelings about Mandy’s graduation but the fact that nothing is happening today is weird. I don’t know how LDH manages graduations but if someone decides to graduate from FANTASTICS (whom I love more than any other artist) and we don’t even get a one last live of all members together to say goodbye, that would be heartbreaking. I feel for generations fans. At this point, it seems like the goodbye is a bitter one for many members.

I think the last graduation of EXILE member was Kuroki Keiji's on 2022. EXILE was currently on tour so that was his last performance and they streamed the last concert where fans everywhere were able to see Keiji perform and hear his graduation speech.

Just like everything regarding Mandy's graduation, everything seemed pretty rushed and unexpected.

During the press conference, the members have mentioned that they were going to be working individually until June, so I guess it was impossible for them to cancel whatever work they had lined up and organise something on the scale Keiji's graduation was.

Personally, I too was hoping for a livestream at least

But i think this is something both gene and the fans have understood. I didn't see any Dreamers making hashtags or posts wishing for Mandy. None of gene's official SNS accounts made any sappy graduation posts to say goodbye or to make fans reminisce their memories with Mandy. and i think thats what they wanted. for Mandy's graduation to just be a quiet affair and not a spectacle
