Chapter 1 -

YOUR POV-

I don't do friends.

I never have, and never will.

I'm 22 years old, running an Ice cream business almost everyday during the spring and summer. During the colder months I work as a waitress at my uncles restaurant.

Currently I'm driving towards the park, my sister buckled up in the seat next to me eating a popsicle.

Elizabeth could live off ice cream if I couldn't afford normal food, but i can, so I made sure to have a mini fridge packed with healthier snacks to balance out all the sugar.

"We're here!" I sighed stoping my truck. There were already groups of teens with money and kids running  towards my Ice Cream Truck.

"Stay where I can see you okay Eli" I said before unlocking the door.

"Okay!" She yelped happily running towards the swing set that was perfectly in view of the window.

After selling Ice cream at the park for 1 1/2 hours, I didn't realize how popular this park was, or how big it was...

I spun my head towards the swing set.

"ELIZABETH!?" I shouted at the top of my lungs

Where did she go? , I started to panic, luckily most of the parents who saw my distress started helping me look for her.

The shouting continued for 10 more minutes until,

"I FOUND HER!" Shouted a Brunette teen who held my sister in her arms.

"Elizabeth! I was so scared where were you?! I thought I told you to stay next to me!" I exclaimed hugging Elizabeth while some of the people around us cheered, others sighing in relief and walking away.

"I'm sorry Y/N! I was playing hide and seek with a new friend I made!" Elizabeth said as she began to cry.

"I'm not mad Eli, I was just very worried." I said releasing her from the hug.

"Where is this new friend you made?" I asked as I picked her up and started walking towards the truck.

"His name is Jack! He has black hair and grey eyes! And he says he works at the circus!" Elizabeth exclaimed happily.

"Okay..." I said quietly.

'I know that some people can be born with Grey eyes, but work at the circus?! A child can't be in a circus can they?! Maybe it's a family thing?'

I walked towards the truck and put Elizabeth down and I got into the drivers seat.

"So Eli, How old is jack?" I asked smiling.

"He's probably an adult and he's really tall! Taller than the truck!" She said as she got in her seat and buckled her seatbelt.

'Probably an imaginary friend... I mean I used to have an imaginary friend too his head would reach the ceiling, maybe this thing runs in the family?'

I started the truck and began on the road back to me and Elizabeth's house.

'I should be happy she has an imaginary friend right? But then again the only reason she doesn't have any real friends is because I have to watch her 24/7.

Once we got to the house I parked my truck in the drive way and both Me and Elizabeth got out.

It was already 10pm now, so I have to put Eli to bed. As I walked up the stairs I could hear her laughing with someone.

I swear for a second I thought it sounded like she was laughing with some guy.

That's not possible, her friends only imaginary right?

I slowly crept towards the door of her room, Eli was coloring, and she was talking?

Who was she talking to? 

Then again Imaginary friends are common for 6 year olds... I think they are anyways.

"Eli, it's time to go to bed!" I said opening the door fully and walking into my sisters room.

"Okay!" She said picking up her paper and crayons and putting them on her little table.

While she was in the bathroom I decided to take a look at her drawing.

Eli's drawing was of some monochrome clown guy that had a cone shaped nose and claws for hands. 

Is this what her imaginary friend looked like?

As I held the paper longer I felt a warm breathe on the back of my neck.

'What the heck?!'

I turned around but no one was there.

Eli walked out of the bathroom in her pajamas and she sat on her bed, I went and sat next to her.

"So so you want me to read you a story, or?" I started,

"Jack said he could tell me a story!" She said happily.

"Okay... so who is this Jack person?" I asked curiously.

"Jack said he's my best friend!

"Alright then...Goodnight Eli." I sighed

"Jack too!" She pointed at the empty space on the wall.

"... goodnight Eli and... Jack?" I said as I walked towards the door.

"Goodnight Y/N!" Eli said happily.

"Goodnight Y/N" My new friend said before Tuning to me after her sister left the room.

"Ok kiddo! What kind of story you want me to read?!"

I asked grinning.

"Do you know any fairy tales?" She asked excited.

I chuckled.

"Yes... I do!" I Said.

After around 20 minutes Elizabeth was asleep,

"Finally!" I sighed. She's no fun, most of my friends were at least a bit exciting to hang out with, but Eli isn't.

'I'm probably gonna kill her pretty soon' I thought to myself. For now I'm gonna go mess with her sister. I smile at the thought of being able to kill both of them in the near future.

Chapter 2 -

POV-Y/N

It's been an hour since I put Eli to bed, I haven't been doing much, other than occasional sleep checks and what not. Eventually it was around 3 am when I got too tired and decided to go to sleep.

I closed my eyes, and when I blinked my bright colored bedroom turned into the entrance of a dull looking fun house.

Ripped posters covered the sides of the fun house, and a rusted entrance gate stood ajar in front of me.

I stepped through the entrance and onto the rusty moving staircase that shifted back and forth, I stumbled and grabbed onto the side handles.

I pulled myself up the rusty stairs and proceeded towards the randomly moving platforms on the floor, I heard laughing.

I stopped.

I looked around, waiting for something to jump out at me, I knew it would happen because I knew it was a dream, what I didn't know was that for once I wasn't the one controlling it or what happened next...

Nothing... I stood there, and nothing.

I waited there anxiously before deciding  to walk onto the platforms, big mistake.

As I stepped onto the first rusted platform it fell and I fell with it.

My leg was stuck in between some type of mechanical part, I tried to pull my leg out but it wouldn't budge, for a second I forgot I was dreaming and began panicking until I saw a tall shadow creep up behind me, it grabbed onto my arms and pulled me up, the mechanical gears instantly moving, almost crushing my leg, I looked at the thing that saved me. It was rather tall, and lacked color, a bit like the fun house, I looked at it and hugged it.

"Thank You!!" I said hugging the random being tightly, it hugged back.

"No problem gumdrop" it said with excitement.

It let me go on the solid ground and I got a better look at it.

"W-wait a sec! You look like my little sisters drawing, well close enough to it I guess, she isn't the best artist-" I stated looking at a tall monochrome clown.

"W-wait a sec! You look like my little sisters drawing, well close enough to it I guess, she isn't the best artist-" she said while looking me up and down.

"Yup! The names Laughing Jack, LJ for short"

I said grinning.

'If I befriend both of them and gain their trust killing them will be so satisfying Hah!"

"Nice to meet you LJ, I'm Y/N!" She said

"So Y/N! Do you wanna play?" I asked cheerfully.

"Play? Play what?" She look at me confused.

"Hide an seek of course! I count you hide, if I win you owe me something!" I said putting my hands on my hips.

"Oh, Ok? And if I win?"

"Then I will owe you something" I said.

I chuckled, she wouldn't be able to win regardless, I control this place and I can sense her presence so this should be easy!

"Alright, let's start!" I turned around and closed my eyes, "1...2...3...".

I managed to run down the rusty funhouse steps, eventually I ran towards a red and white circus tent.

After getting underneath the tent I looked around, it was a mirror maze, worst part is that this is probably the worst place to get lost in, so I tried to push one of the mirrors aside, it wouldn't budge.

I decided to look around for the wall of the tent, then I went under it and back outside.

I don't know where LJ was or how long he was gonna count so I ran towards a black and white circus tent.

It stood out a bit more than everything else, although most of the carnival lacked in color this tent had no color at all.

I went underneath the tent and I stopped.

2 dead bodies laid on the ground.

"What the fuck?!" I covered my mouth at the sight of them.

I backed away and out.

"It's all fake Y/N, it's just a dream, just a dream" I repeated multiple times until I backed into a- LJ?!

"Found yah" he said chuckling.

"Yah- heh" I said shaking.

Y/N was shaking, she looked tense, I looked up to the direction she came from.

...My tent.

She saw them...

Oh crap

"...Are you alright?" I asked, my expression more serious than before.

"Y-yah , It's just a dream right, I'll be fine" she said relaxing a bit.

I relaxed my shoulders, she thinks it's just a dream! If that's the case I could get away with anything here and she wouldn't say crap, as long as she thinks she's still dreaming...

I smirked

As long as she believes shes dreaming, I can do anything I want.

I snapped out of my thoughts, "you wanna go on the Ferris wheel?" I asked.

"Uh-sure?" She said still a bit shocked.

I grabbed her hand and *Poof* we were at the Ferris wheel!

"Wow" she said

"Yah I know, pretty cool eh?" I smirked as I led her to the cart and we both entered it.

Still LJ's POV

"That was fun" Y/N said as we walked towards a funnel cake booth.

"Yup" I said happily, surprisingly throughout the entire time we've been hanging out she hasn't shown any sign of fear, you'd think she'd be concerned or something but no, she's happy, She isn't scared of this place, she isn't scared of me...

Our fun was interrupted though, she began to wake up  so I left my carnival and went back into the real world.

I was invisible unless I chose otherwise so to her I was just a dream, just a drawing of her little sister's imaginary friend...

When I woke up I looked at my surroundings, 6:00am, I was back in my room, the dream was over. I got up and walked towards the bathroom, I took a quick shower then I picked out a pair of blue jean overall shorts, a yellow sweater, ankle high white socks, and a pair of yellow converse. After dressing up I walk out of my room to see Eli?!

"Eli it's 6:30 am why are you awake?" I asked confused

"I'm awake because jacks awake!" Eli said happily.

"Tell jack to go back to sleep then?" I asked rolling my eyes while walking towards the kitchen.

"Haha, you heard what she said!" She yelled while grabbing a notebook and a pencil.

I looked at her for a second processing the fact she just tried to tell someone. No. SOMETHING? What I just said.

"Eli honey, I was joking- and what- what-are you doin with those?" I grabbed the notebook from her hands

"I'm gonna write a story with Jack!" She smiled.

"Alright- uh- but... tell jack or whatever to use THIS notebook, I don't need your stories on my computer notes."

I switched out my notebook for a cheap sketchbook.

The whole LJ thing is driving me nuts...

For a split second I thought I actually saw LJ staring directly at me from beside her.
