omg hello everyone. now that i have people following me i would like to also let u all know that i DID in fact document my entire experience as someone watching the cw's supernatural in 2023 by briefly writing my thoughts in my notes app after every single episode in real time. Oh my... I've given this a lot of thought in the last ten seconds, so my answers are absolute canon and truth from here on out:

Cas is a homemade orange marmalade. Not everyone likes it, it can be super tangy and a little weird bc there's peel in it, but overall it's very sweet and delicious.

Sam is a jalapeno jelly. It starts off sweet, but there is a kick underneath that sweetness that just might kill you if you have too much. He's all fire under that sugar.

Dean is a classic, delicious, traditional apple butter. It's smooth and creamy like butter, but tart and spicey sweet. He also often smells of cinnamon and tastes great smothered on a biscuit. ;)

Hey I saw your post in the beefleaf tag about why you don’t ship beefleaf and I’d just like to say that even though I find your argument interesting … perhaps you can keep entire paragraphs about not shipping beefleaf out of the tag meant for shippers of beefleaf. It’s sort of impolite and I’m sure many shippers were upset by you tagging it that way and then saying “don’t like don’t read.” Yes they can avoid reading it but something against the ship just doesn’t belong in the tag. Hope this doesn’t seem too aggressive - I wasn’t sure if you knew the usual protocol for this sort of thing and I’m not good with words.

Thank you for respecting my opinion but you're more disappointing than previous anon (who agreed to just block me) because I already give major warning in CAPSLOCK and bold for those of you who can't handle criticism for your favorite ship (Yeah, I think I have to add more "to block me" because of this).

Yes they can avoid reading it but something against the ship just doesn’t belong in the tag.

It still belongs to the tag because it’s about beefleaf. It’s not even an anti-post because it’s not all negative about them.

If you think the tag is exclusive for 'favorite things' or 'shipping' for liking, you need to learn more about tumblr in general.

I need the tag to sort my archive, it's more important than to satisfy you which you can handle it yourself by just hit (...) then block and...

...your dashboard page is clean again from negative posts about beefleaf.

I’ve been in tumblr for a decade and as long as I know ‘the tag’ is not equal with ‘the fanclub’, it’s equal to ‘related topic’.

And tumblr will always be like this.

Unless the feature of creating exclusive group/fanclub can be realized.

Sorry for eventually dragging other fandom, but even ‘Final Fantasy 7′ with massive ship-wars handle this better, tag like #cloti or #clerith are not exclusively for what's good for them, even valid criticism often uses these tags.

I never experienced anything like this when I was criticizing #cloti, and over the time I actually grew to see the good side of said pairing.

The FF7 fans maybe just brushed it off or block the haters in silent idk, because I still can see the variety of the contents using those tags.

Or these #destiel posts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 that should’ve offended destiehellers in ‘Supernatural’ fandom.

And with this much fandoms I’ve never experienced this tag-keeping before.

You need to realize that there must be a moment when someone doesn’t like what you like.

Do you think I’ve never experienced it? Many times I’ve accidentally found things that I love got severely criticized by others.

You may hate to see dust on your table, but you can’t just expect dust to never get on your table, you need to clean it by yourself.

You may hate to see a post you don’t like, but you can’t just expect people to stop posting it, you need to filter it by yourself.

If you really need a special space that contains only positive things you like, you need to figure out which platform that is suitable for that.

Tumblr is not a fanclub, it only provides you feature to block posts you don’t like.

Go make fanclub/livejournal/group/subreddit etc dedicated for beefleaf, anything that you have the right to moderate. Trust me, you won’t find me there to badmouthing them because I know my place.

Now, you add another reason why I dislike beefleaf.

I won't respond post like this again in the future.

Or probably stop writing TGCF related all together and leaving the fandom.

AMA ask: as a long time SPN fan, how do you keep it fresh for yourself? Do you fear losing interest?

Hey, punkin #1! This is an excellent question, with kind of a counter-intuitive answer: I don't keep it fresh. Fandom morphs, things fall in and out of fashion, a new generation inhabits the SPN space (because the fandom has been going on THAT LONG), but I always find myself meandering back to the same sort of content. And I keep creating the fanworks that resonate with my dark crusty heart but there's an ever-changing fandom to engage with, show my stuff to, reasons to create goodies that appeal to me!

Fandom itself is more of a buzzkill than the show ending, to be perfectly honest. Speaking of fandom morphing, I'm not sure it's been morphing in a positive direction. I really enjoyed the days of YKINMKATO and ship-and-let-ship. Don't like? Don't read. DNIs weren't a thing, because we knew how to use the block and mute buttons. Fandom events are getting less and less inclusive, too. But I digress from your ask...

Yeah, I'm absolutely feeling the ebb of zeal in myself. It's partly fandom's behavior (as touched on above; standom was a mistake) but also I'm a freelance artist in my day job and it's doing pretty well for me right now, so that takes up a lot of creative energy. No other franchise, however, has tickled the urge to generate fanworks since SPN (even Interview with the Vampire, which I adore with every fiber of my being!), so I won't be leaving it behind totally. Not until it's gone gone, which may or may not ever happen if the boys put their money where their mouths are, and generate a revival. (Personally, I hope it happens on a cable network so we can get more mature(?) content. The Dabb era was evolving into a cheesy YA novel. Plz come back, Kripke.) There's very little on-screen chemistry that can rival that between Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. I'll get sucked right back in, pretty sure. XD

And about Steve, I also feel this energy in him and just listening to the way you said it, I want to cry because it's really soooo him. He really is so humble! But I also feel like he’s so hard on himself. Like one of his AMA questions from Reddit on Friday I can’t remember what was asked but he was saying about explaining his life “mess up get sad repeat” and just that he’s so hard on himself made me want to hug him! I’m like babe you’re so talented even if you don’t realize it 🥺

Yes, writing is a great way to express all those feels! I may only write for Steve, but I do feel like a lot of the characteristics I write for Steve is also Joe. Like he’s definitely like Steve in the way that he’s got that humble, kind soul and is just so easy going and cares about his loved ones.

I’m so glad! You and anyone is always welcome to come talk to me in my ask or wherever about Steve, Joe, etc. But they’re my favorite subjects obviously lol

Oh man it’s been so long since I watched TWD and SPN, I kinda fell off watching them even though I do still like them. TWD I stopped watching during the pandemic in 2020 cause it was just a little too close to home lol and SPN I never watched the final seasons yet but I’ll get to it eventually lol. Wishful Thinking is way more rapey than I remember.

We’re retconning the “dragons” and letting the boys fight a real proper dragon. 

If Cas zapped them anywhere (to avoid planes) for a vacation, where do you think they would go?

Dean says “Take us to a beach” and Cas in his infinite wisdom picks an icy beach in Greenland. Dean is displeased, Sam is amused.

Complicated. From a practical standpoint, I think it was necessary to kneecap Cas’ ability to zap himself anywhere in order to bring him into the show more frequently, because a LOT of their problems would be over before they began if Cas could still fly all the time. It’d be a lot harder to write for. 

ALSO I like the idea that Cas wasn’t completely human so even without his grace he still technically could have ‘fallen’. 

HOWEVER in order for that to make sense someone would have at some point had to actually have SAID anything to that effect. So. 

I ascribe to the headcanon that Cas hadn’t been human enough and while he didn’t go screaming to earth on fire, he was still damaged in the fall and thus is unable to fly but as it stood in the show, they didn’t give enough of an explanation so it WAS stupid that his wings got shredded. 

You have any fic ideas bouncing around your head that are still even too early days to be called proper WIPs?

Yeah, two. One with Dean and Lee and one in purgatory.

Know you have a lot of fascinating thoughts on John, but do you have a similar amount of thoughts about Mary?

Mary was 29 years old when she died, and therefore (casting choices aside) was 29 years old when she came back to life. 

She is a 29 year old with two babies and a husband who suddenly is thrust back into the world decades later and immediately told her husband is dead and her two boys are now complete strangers she doesn’t know from anyone who are also significantly older than her. 

Dean is 37. Dean is 8 years older than her. Sam is 33. 

Mary died on the ceiling the same age Dean died and was dragged to hell.

Frankly she takes it very well all things considered. She’s vilified by the fandom unjustly. We’re conditioned to look at Sam and Dean and be like “they’re the main characters so only their feelings matter and she hurt their feelings so she is devil lady.” Which is stupid AF. “You are not a child.” “I never was.” Yeah ok but she didn’t raise you to be a hunter, and it wasn’t her choice to be dead instead of raising you. “But she made a deal with a demon and that led to Azazel getting to Sam!” She made a deal with a demon at 19 years old to save the person she loves most in the world. Dean made a deal with a demon to save Sam and he started the fucking apocalypse. (No shade to Dean.) 

They’ve all made dumb mistakes, even BMoL Ramiel sized ones, we’re just choosing to ignore some because we like our boys better. But it’s putting an unfair expectation on Mary to be perfectly what everyone wants her to be and ignoring that she is human. 

An aside: She wouldn’t have even batted an eye with how Jack killed Nick, and it was the most forced thing to make her hassle Jack until he snapped her into ashes. 

What do you think is the best practical effect that the show ever pulled off?

Michael v. Lucifer Season 13 Finale. There is a rack focus between 2014 Dean and 2009 Dean in The End that is so seamless it is delicious. The practical side of the hellhounds tearing up Dean is pretty cool too. 

Any opinions related to particular the last 5 seasons (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) of the show?

I think I like later seasons SPN more than most people (despite my distaste for season 14 because 14 is offensively stupid). I thought 15 was largely uninteresting, not actively bad. I think 13 started strong but fell off very rapidly after Tombstone into being just again uninteresting. 

I think 11 had a lot of good episodes and I really liked season 12 a lot. 

Did you ever think when you started watching the show that all these years later you would be this invested in it?

I honestly didn’t expect the show to last as long, but it wasn’t something that would have surprised me. If a show is really good, I latch onto it hard, and it’s reaffirmed if there are other people also as/more into it as me. So SPN still having a lot of fan attention keeps it going. I think if SPN had ended 5 years earlier, there’d be a lot less of us here now, and the interest might have died off more. I imagine it’ll drop off in the next few years. 

Do you have any headcanons about Cas's True Form?

Hard to make anything out. Lots of wings, eyes, and bright brilliant flashes of color. 

What loose end side plot from the show annoys you the most with the lack of closure?

Ghost Kevin. Someone better look me in the eyes and assure me Jack brought him to heaven. To a lesser degree what was up with Cas "my powers are fading" season 15?

Uuuuuum...What do you think is everybody's favorite color?

Sam likes blue. Dean likes red. Cas has not really given it a lot of thought and picks a random color when asked. (Thoughts based on vibes and oft-worn clothing colors.)

Hola Mara,me ha sorprendido grátamente el trailer de The Winchesters. Yo pensaba, ¿qué podría aportar a la historia original y sobre todo al horrendo final?Así que ahora me veo ,de nuevo, siendo atrapada en esta red. Voy a mantener mi fe en Jensen y en Daneel, sobre todo porque Jensen ama mucho a Dean y estoy segura de que su final y el final , en general, no le satisfizo en absoluto y creo que ésta es su manera de intentar arreglarlo.Ésta historia ya es muy diferente a lo que contaron en spn.

Voy a ser honesta, a mí las cosas que más me han atraído del trailer son Dean, porque le echo un montón de menos y cuando le vi, empecé a gritar y llorar; la misteriosa aparición de Cas, que aunque fue durante un par de segundos yo todavía sigo preguntándome porqué aparece en el trailer; y Carlos, que por lo poco que le he visto, sé que me va a encantar, lo único que pido es que no le conviertan en un esteriotipo.

El resto del trailer no me convence mucho, la verdad. No me gusta que intenten hacer a John tan amigable, porque parece como si Jensen estuviera escribiendo a John como en un fic en el que John es una buena persona. Y la actriz que hace de Mary no sé, no me convence mucho. A ver, sólo la he visto en el trailer, con lo que no puedo opinar mucho todavía. Y tampoco me convence el ambiente, porque parece una serie de Nickelodeon de poco presupuesto que sabe cuatro cosas sobre los años 70.

Pero lo que supongo que me parece más desconcertante es que de repente John sea introducido al mundo sobrenatural. Se supone que supo de la existencia de demonios y monstruos una vez que Mary murió, no antes. A lo mejor Jensen y Danneel han decidido que luego los ángeles les borren la memoria a John y Mary. No tengo ni idea. Pero vamos, el trailer ha hecho que tenga muchas preguntas y que me sienta intrigada, por desgracia. No tenía intención de ver The Winchesters porque odio a John Winchester tanto como odio el final de SPN y la serie parece una carta de amor a John y odio eso.

Pero el hecho de ver a Dean de nuevo, y ver esa misteriosa escena de Cas en el cap 4x01, ha hecho que yo también sea atrapada por esa puta red de SPN. Así que acabaré viendo la serie por eso, y porque tengo demasiadas preguntas sin respuestas.

Sempre que Castiel acordava desse jeito, ele permanecia com os olhos fechados.

Se abrisse os olhos, Dean ficaria inquieto e se sentiria culpado por acordá-lo. Desde que Castiel perdeu sua graça e passou a viver como humano junto de Dean, começou a perceber coisas que nunca notaria sobre ele, como sua paixão por torta, os estalos constantes no joelho e o seu jeito repentinamente carinhoso depois de tomar banho. Também percebeu que a mente do caçador nunca relaxava, e os pesadelos de Dean eram preocupantemente frequentes, por mais que ele negasse.

Castiel sentiu o cobertor arrastando-se por sua pele, mas fingiu continuar dormindo para esperar o outro se deitar como sempre fazia; mas mesmo depois de um tempo considerável sentado no escuro, Dean não voltou para seu travesseiro. Ele se moveu um pouco e Castiel conseguiu escutar um grunhido engasgado.

— Dean…?

Dean se assustou, virando a cabeça rapidamente na direção da voz. Seus olhos mostravam um brilho aguado.

— Me perdoa, Cass, eu… — Ele não completou a frase, apertando os olhos e se afastando de Castiel no colchão.

Castiel ergueu-se, podendo olhar bem para o outro na luz fraca vazada da janela. Na ponta da cama, Dean apertava os braços contra o corpo e se mantinha de costas para ele.

— Querido, só…

— Volte a dormir, Castiel.

Apesar de se manter na defensiva, estava claro que Dean lutava contra as próprias lágrimas. Outro dos fatos sobre Dean que Castiel demorou para descobrir é o costume de mentir, de fugir e de esconder tudo que havia dentro dele, deixando o medo e o ressentimento se acumularem. Se pudesse tocar a alma do caçador, sentiria ela cansada e áspera.

Em silêncio, Castiel aproximou-se de Dean, sem saber exatamente o que fazer; desajeitadamente, pôs a mão em seu ombro, movimentando devagar. Dean não recolheu-se, mas olhou para Castiel com um olhar desesperadoramente melancólico.

— Desculpa, Cass…

— Não, Dean, pare de se culpar. Só… Deite comigo e diga o que está acontecendo — Pediu.

Em silêncio, Dean obedeceu.

— Amor, eu estou bem, juro, eu já me acostumei com os pesadelos e tudo mais. Só vamos voltar a dormir.

— Dean, por favor, me ajude a te ajudar. Você acha mesmo que eu acredito nisso? Eu sei que não está tudo bem, e muito provavelmente nunca estará, mas me corrói por dentro ver a única pessoa que me importa desse jeito.

Castiel não sabia exatamente o motivo para ter dito tudo aquilo, mas se sentiu subitamente aliviado, como se um peso saísse de si. Dean suspirou, como se entendesse.

— Eu… eu estava de volta ao Inferno, Castiel, torturando mais uma vez. Faz muito tempo, mas eu consigo lembrar dos gritos e do selo quebrado…

— Dean, são só as lembranças que Alastair deixou. E Alastair foi morto.

— Esse é o problema, Castiel! — Os olhos de Dean voltaram a marejar como antes — Eu torturava você, arrancava a sua pele, cortava cada pedaço do seu corpo, costurava, e cortava outra vez. Você gritava meu nome, pedia misericórdia e eu sorria… — Sem perceber, deixou-se ser envolvido pelos braços de Castiel, que apenas escutava o sonho perturbador em silêncio — Isso não é algo que eu me lembro, Cass, sou eu pensando em torturar friamente a pessoa que eu mais amo na minha vida. Sinceramente, eu mereço ser jogado de volta para a danação.

Castiel estremeceu com a mísera ideia de ver Dean retornar ao Inferno, instintivamente abraçando-o com mais força.

— Não diga isso, Dean. Tudo o que você fez foi sempre por alguém, para proteger quem você ama… Deixe eu te proteger agora, Dean, eu sei como você é um homem bom, valioso, que luta por tudo o que acredita e age pelo que quer. E é por isso e por muito mais que eu te amo, você sabe?

Soltando-se do aperto que o envolvia, Dean admirou o olhar triste, mas inegavelmente apaixonado que Castiel tinha em seu rosto. Um anjo, um deus, um monstro, um salvador, tudo isso pode descrever quem agora é apenas um homem apaixonado como tantos outros nesse mundo.

Dean o beijou vagarosamente, mais emocionado do que gostaria de admitir, segurando o rosto de Castiel como se fosse a única coisa no mundo, as vezes murmurando que também o amava, ou que o amava até mais. Eles voltaram a se deitar, trocando carícias e murmurando declarações sonolentas um para o outro, até adormecerem mais uma vez.

Fighting the post-NaNo slump via AMA

Hey all, so as some of you might have seen, all through November, I did NaNo for the first real time. And I won! Then I proceeded to crash for about a week and made zero progress after that.

So! To fight the encroaching writers block, please feel free to Ask Me Anything about my currently ongoing #dream house fic.

It's Dreamling; it's a Haunting of Hill House AU (meaning Hob is not immortal and Dream is not Endless); and it's currently a little over 70K words long.

I will try to answer all the questions, however if they might get spoiler-y I will be cryptic, so bear that in mind.

(Also, I totally got this idea from @bobwess. If you like SPN stuff, would highly recommend checking out his blog and youtube.)
