I am sure that I suffered minor injuries in my twenties, but I honestly cannot remember a single one. Then one day I screwed up my shoulder in the gym. I was 31 years old. I could not lift heavy for several weeks, so I decided to try a yoga class at the gym. My first class was with @rona_graceblu. In hindsight, I am extremely fortunate to have started yoga with Rona. Her classes were accessible, challenging, and fun. Her instructions were very clear and made sense to me. I loved her classes. When Rona quit teaching at the gym and shifted her classes to a local yoga studio, I followed her. I practiced with her for a long time. I don’t believe that she teaches yoga today. She is busy with family, travels, and her business (@graceblu). But I will never forget Rona. I am so grateful for her teaching, which inspired a lifetime of practice and eventually teaching for me too. . It would have been nice to start doing yoga in my twenties or even earlier. But I really don’t think I was ready for it. In my twenties, my body could recover from just about anything and everything that I put it through. I didn’t have a ton of stress. I didn’t worry about the future. Although I would have benefitted from the practice, I didn’t think I needed yoga. It seemed unnecessary at the time. Now I know better but I have no regrets. I am glad I started when I did. Today, yoga is very important for my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I need it. I love it. I love practicing and teaching yoga. I plan to do both for a very long time. After all, I really just started doing yoga. That first class with Rona was only 18 years ago! . Thanks to @supermomtraci and @renee_xtina for the tag. In my yoga classes, I never force and never push my clients to practice the hard and tough yoga poses. I always suggest them to practice the soft and easy yoga poses. I want them to feel happy in their mind, feel relax in their body and enjoy the yoga world. . In my yoga classes, I never ask my clients to use hard equipments that can force and push them in difficult yoga poses. The easy equipments they can use at their yoga practice are yoga mat, floor, wall, pillow and chair. If they can't do the easy yoga poses I teach them, they can always take a rest or do the Child pose or Sitting pose. . Dear people who love to practice Yoga, please always come to easy Yoga classes and kind Yoga teachers who will not use their hands, difficult equipments and difficult ways to lead the class and teach you the yoga poses. . ✨✨HANDSTAND WORKOUT!✨✨ well- a workout for handstands :) ‘ 1. Handstand w/ either tennis balls or blocks. This helps me find “mind muscle connection” in my legs while holding a handstand! By keeping my legs fired up, squeezing in towards each other, this helps maintain stability, encourages core to engage, and brings in more mindfulness & play -don’t drop em;) 2. Core Cruncher 😱!!! This one always gets my belly fired up- and is working on the muscles required for strength in your handstands! (muscle memory!) Option to place your hands on either side of you, or under your low back for more stability. Or- for more intensity, hold and keep your arms above your head!! 3. “Goku Turtle Shell Approach”, (Handstands with Ankle Weights!) For me this really helped feel core engagement in handstands, -this was something I had a hard time figuring out. More “lifting” with control instead of using only momentum to fling your legs up into handstand. Find a neutral pelvis (not too much booty out, but hips not pushing too forward), engage your core as much as possible, and the weights should help you push your core little harder! 4. Wheel, Wall, Press! Adjust your wheel safely against a wall, you’ll notice you might need your hands placed slightly differently then a typical handstand. Once you can feel the weight distribution, start to push your head into the wheel to lift your legs! Think about pushing the wheel & ground away from you, to lift your legs! 👍🏻✨ ‘ Comment questions guys and I’ll do my best to help!! How terrible is to do that because you feel you have to?! Because you have to survive as a “man”! . It’s the fact that women have been suffering from many many things in this world. It’s the fact that they’re not treated in the same way men are treated. It’s the fact that women don’t live in the same world that men live in. . Yes. . I am, and I will always be a voice for women.
