Hi! So, I actually am pretty picky when it comes to fanfics, which is not the best thing with characters like Rip (comics not lot) who are not...the most popular to write for let alone his dynamic with his father one on one instead of as a by-product of boostle shipping (nothing wrong with that though but sometimes i want something else). I also don't check the Rip tag that much so my bad.

But yes! I have some fics I do love and im always down to talk about Rip to help with anyone who WOULD like to write him! forewarning i never do fic recs so sorry if this is a mess or i ramble.

Time, Love and Tenderness : (and the following two chapters of this trilogy arc) from AGKOL has a really interesting take on Rip and Booster. THOUGH this arc is mostly about Ted and his own childhood if you look closer its meant as a peep-hole into this family dynamic that will shape itself in the future (unbeknownst to Booster and Ted). There's a sense of Booster and Rip already having some sort of established dynamic and Ted feeling as though they walk circles around him within the temporal field (when really they're all in the same spot.)

You don't have to read previous installments to truly understand whats going on here unless you'd like.

Does This Count As Leasing The Baby Home Alone? : This fic is really fun to me in concept and execution. It really plays with the weird dynamic Rip has as someone who exists outside of the linear path of his own life and as someone who meddles within his fathers life OFTEN. A look into Rip's sense of self, his relationship with his parents, and how he mentally tackles this weird paradox of his life- All wrapped up in a fic about him babysitting himself.

Men on the Moon : Short and sweet, this work dives more into a scene from Booster Gold Vol 2 #20...I love stuff like this tbh.

In his eyes, all the sadness of the world : Not a LOT fic but does take some inspiration/ideas from the Rip character the show built up. I really enjoyed the dynamic shown between Rip and Booster here. I love when people see those similarities they have and expand upon it (either with their own ideas or canon). I've said this but time travel is typically like grief, non-linear and heartbreaking but with the strong undertone of love in the motive.

as far as my own stuff? I've never posted my Booster and Rip fics because I get shy about my own writing for some reason esp about parent and child dynamics because i get a little emotional on that front LOL.

When you are a superhero, and your Husband is a retired supervillain.

A while ago, I saw a TikTok by stackthedeck where they mentioned what Harry and Peters dynamic would be if they were a couple ( supervillain x superhero), I also read a fanfic where Harry is watching his BF fight on the news, and it got me thinking of a skit.

Peter who is badly beat up and bleeding: Hey sweetheart, I'm back. Harry: You were out late; did you have some spider business to attend to. *See's Peter* OMG what happened!!!! *rushes over to Peter* Peter: Just a run in with King Pin, not big deal. Harry: No big deal! Yeah, no big deal when you're bleeding all over the carpet. Peter: Sorry. Harry: DON'T APOLIGIZE FOR BEING HURT! . . . What happened. *Taking off Peter's mask* Peter: Like I said, a run in with Kingpin.

Harry looked at Peter in horror seeing the bruises on his face including a cut over his eye lid, broken nose, a black eye and a chipped tooth! Peter looked at him confused and concerned.

Peter: Hey, you ok? * Puts his hands on Harry's shoulders*

Harry's concern quickly turned into anger.

Harry: I'm gonna kill him. Peter: What?

Harry marches to his room. Peter followed having a bad feeling about what his husband was going to do.

Peter: Harry sweetheart what are you doing. Harry: Nothing. *proceeds to take out a pumpkin bomb* Peter: Hey, I thought you destroyed all that stuff. Harry: I planned to, I just never got around to it. Now where is my glider?

Harry looks behind a secret long drawer in he and peters shared dresser but before he can grab it, peter webs it to himself and places it under his arm pit.

Peter:

Harry:

Peter, give me my glider. Peter: *Walks away* Harry: * sighs and walks after peter* Peter!

Harry tries to grab the glider; each time, the glider is moved out of reach.

Harry: Peter this isn't funny, give me it. Peter: No. Harry: Why? Peter: Cause it's not necessary. Harry: It's necessary when my husband comes home with broken bones and is bleeding. Peter: Harry I'm Spiderman, this is kind part of fighting super villains. Harry: Doesn't mean I have to like it, or stand for it! Peter: Hare, I don't need you to avenge me, I need you here cuddling and watching movies with me. Hare: . . . Peter: I'll be fine, I promise. Hare: . . . Fine, but only cause you're cute.

What Spider-Man comics would you recommend first for someone who wants to start reading them. There's a lot and I am overwhelmed

I think if you're interested in Spider-Man/Deadpool you should read their comic serial which is my only true recommendation. It's sometimes good, often bad, and heavily influences the type of dynamic I write for them.

I've read more Deadpool comics than Spider-Man comics so I can't in good faith give you recs but @stackthedeck and @sciderman read a lot more comics than I do and I think they've made rec lists for Spider-Man specifically so maybe hit them up?

i had watched season 1 with a friend who adored it back in January so i got the vibe and maybe one day I will return to it but I fear there's only room in my heart for one unnecessarily long Kryptonian show (CW Supergirl I stuck with you far too long)
